Wasn't very impressed with the cleanliness, the staff, or the selection of flavors. The place isn't dumpy, but it's also not very inviting either. When I've gone, there's been yogurt dropping onto the floor from the catch trays under the spouts. The topping trays had been spilled into each other and not cleaned up by staff, and overall there's a lot of clutter on the employee shelves behind the register. Once when I went, the employee was just hanging out in front of the cash register (which was broken for the record -- they had to use a calculator and notepad to ring you up). He was fake-brawling with a young kid, presumably his brother or cousin (I hope). At first I thought the kid had been stealing and the employee was taking him down. But then I saw a smile on his face and I realized what was going on. Very unprofessional. That same kid at one point reached his hand in one of the candy topping trays and just grabbed a bare-handful and put it right in his mouth after he had already finished his yogurt. It made me and my wife want to vomit to think we had just filled our yogurt cups from those same toppings. Not impressed. There are some good qualities, though. Planet Yogurt is 1 cent cheaper per ounce than local U-Swirl, they have buy-one-get-one-free coupons often, and they aren't as crowded as other shops.

Plant yogurt was pretty standard. They have a lot of flavors and they have cookie dough bites which are the only topping worth getting. My only complaint is that most of their yogurt is nonfat or lowfat. They had one "premium" flavor, Dutch chocolate which was pretty good. But I would like more full fat options. I'm not an anorexic high school girl.

Kind of like yogurt land. Seems like their yogurt is creamier. It's kind of awkward when the cashier has to stand by you to try the samples. I'm not a little kid but who knows why they do it. Skip the waffle. My husband got the waffle and it was soggy. There was a fly wandering around the candy section too. We had a $3 groupon that was worth ten bucks. The girls were nice but I don't think I'll come back. It's something I can live without.

If 2008 was your year and "froyo" is a word that frequents your vernacular, go to planet yogurt. If not, go eat ice cream like a man.

Sitting here in planet yogurt and seriously unimpressed right now. We walked in and there were three teenage guys standing at the front. The one that apparently seemed to be the employee addressed us. I thought it was weird that the other two guys just loitered around the counter with the employee the entire time my husband and I have been here. Some of the yogurt dispensers aren't working. A few labels are missing. The water container is almost empty. And there was this lady with two boys, must have been friends or family of the employee, who I watched get more yogurt without paying, and the kid grabbed some of the toppings and popped them right into his mouth. Hmmm. Maybe the owner allows a family discount or something, but why do that in front of other costumers? Bad form. Also, the employee is listening to some heavy metal on their radio. Obnoxious. The feel of this place is no good. I think management should fix the environment here.

We love this place! They have a great selection of yogurt flavors and many fresh fruit and candy toppings. I especially enjoy the flavored tapioca as a topping and the original tart yogurt. The owner and staff are friendly and helpful. They usually offer deals on Groupon, which is always a nice bonus.

I love this place! The shop is always very clean, the owner always remembers my husband and I even if it has been months. Great flavors and pretty good pricing.

We stopped by on a Friday night. Half the machine were either not working or they didn't want to offer that large of a variety. The flavors they did have were, Hawaiian pineapple, snicker doodle, carmel, pomegranate raspberry and chocolate. See very limited. They were out of some toppings, ie Oreo. You think they'd be more prepared for a Friday night. Not the greatest customer service. Looks like most the good reviews they have received are from a couple years ago.

It's a frozen yogurt place. The prices are fair, the yogurt ranges from okay to excellent and the toppings are generally fresh. They really don't do anything special to separate themselves from the pack. Sometimes even after giving them a coupon the girls will just not apply it. Make sure to be aggressive to get your discount.

Who doesn't like frozen yogurt with goodies all mixed in? I've been here a number of times and really like the yogurt. It's not really that this place does it differently than the other or anything... what brings us in is the coupons they put out regularly for a buy one get one free, or a 50% off. I do like that they have a couch in the front that is great for kids to sit on. They could use better chairs at the bar seating cause they are pretty uncomfy, but what can you expect. I would have given 4 starts, but recently they've starting "helping" you get your samples instead of just giving you the little sample cups. They insist on getting the samples for you and I would prefer to just get those myself. Anyway, it's a yummy treat and I'm sure we'll be back again soon.

This tasty dessert vendor is a carbon copy of the serve-yourself Fro Yo shops that are sprouting up all over. When you walk in, you grab a cup and fill it with however much frozen goodness that you want. Next step is a toppings bar, with a big variety of chopped-up candy bars, fruits, ad other sweets. Finally, they weigh you out at $0.38 an ounce (as of July 2010). On my visit, they had quite a few different yogurts and custards in the machines. I noticed a few folks sampling the wares with tiny cups, but I justness vanilla. Nice, trendy spot. There are some short dining room-style tables and high tops inside, along with some patio chairs and tables outside. This is a locally owned, independent shop. I was visiting the area during a business trip, but I encourage you locals to give this place a try.

Planet Yogurt is one of the everything old is new again Frozen Yogurt places (anyone remember TCBY craze in the late 80's?) that have popped up in the last 24 to 36 months. Being somewhat new to Utah, I've noticed that most of the larger brands have avoided the state and because of that the local FroYo places are smaller chains and one off local places. Maybe people like the idea of eating local but in this case I don't think they're doing as good of a job as their national competitors. I went on Sunday afternoon (kudos to a local store for being open in the City of Salt on Sunday) and there wasn't anyone in the shop. Thats understandable for a Sunday in Sandy. Its decorated similar to its competitors. Theres a few high top chairs and then some low flung furniture that looks like it may have come from Ikea. Its not exactly efficient seating but there usually isn't a crowd of people in any of these places. They had 5 or 6 froyo machines each with two flavors. I did take the cups and tried almost all of the flavors. Unfortunately a few of the flavors were out and a number of them seemed a little too soft. Interestingly enough, I was the first person to have notice the emptyness and poor performance of the machines. It seems like you might want to manage this a little better so your customers don't see an exciting flavor, pull the handle and nothing comes out. I picked the Red Velvet flavor, it ended up being very soft. So soft I couldn't actually shape what I was putting in my cup. This is probably advantageous to the owner since I seemed to totally fill the base of the cup with half frozen yogurt but it wasn't good for me and left little room to effectively put toppings around the side of the tub. They had a number of toppings and the staff was happy to explain and encourage me to use them all, you'd think they were making commission on the final weight of my serving. I personally enjoyed the cheese cake bites, I thought that was a fun flavor and I do enjoy cheesecake. The final verdict at the register was almost 8 dollars. I was a little shocked but I paid without saying anything. I think I can thank the not so frozen yogurt for that. Being that it was more liquid and less frozen it was heavier and I had to put toppings on top of a totally covered tub bottom. At their competitors operation I have spent a more reasonable 4 or 5 bucks but again the competitors frozen yogurt was indeed frozen. Its hard to give a scathing review for something that might be different from shift to shift and could have been the fault of the machine. But I do think they could have done more to manage the performance and quality of what was coming out of their machines. All the flavors seemed to suffer from being too soft or totally out. In a crowded marketplace you have to do something to make your product better than your national competitor. I'm not originally from Salt City and I don't subscribe to the "local is better" even when its not philosophy that seems to perpetrate the valley. If you want to be better than a multi-unit chain you actually have to have a better product and presentation. Both of those are things that Planet Yogurt needs to work on.

This new serve-yourself frozen yogurt store in Quarry Bend in Sandy has much to recommend it. I love the serve-yourself approach. I like small quantities of dessert, and here I take (and pay for) only as much as I want. The toppings are also serve yourself, and include fresh cherries, dark chocolate chips, hot fudge, and other delicacies. You pay by weight, not by number of toppings. I've not yet found a flavor that wasn't fantastic. On my first visit I enjoyed a mix of vanilla, raspberry, and orange. This trip it was irish mint and chocolate custard with hot fudge and dark chocolate chips. Food allergy information is provided for each flavor, and the yogurt contains active probiotics. Yum.

Love it especially on Sunday afternoon whereby a lot of dessert shops closed in Utah ... Try to get either Groupon or Gorilla VIP, it'd make it more affordable ... Nice to visit on summer after hiking with multiple choices of yogurt, fruits and toppings ...

Not only is this place ran by the owner and not 16 year old like all the other yogurt shops around Salt Lake, they have the best choice of toppings and they have the best prices!!! Omg love love love this place! Never going any where else!! PS.. They are open until 11!! Squeel!!

I really love this place. I first discovered it when I bought a Groupon a while back, and have come back several times since then. The only thing about this place that isn't great is that the flavors change every day. Don't get me wrong, I love trying out new flavors (and they do have a good variety of flavors every day), but sometimes the flavors they have out that particular day just aren't satisfying to your personal taste. Nonetheless, this place is cute and cozy, and I love grabbing my yogurt and going on a walk around the area.

I was not impressed with this little shop. The floor was sticky and the yogurt was not very good. Will not be back.

I love planet yogurt! My friend and I go there ever week after school because the atmosphere is so chill and they're always playing some nice music. They have new flavor every day and they've recently added new and healthy flavors. This place is a nice place to go if you're just looking to relax and hang out with friends

Pay by the ounce. Self serve Froyo. I dug it. I was craving froyo and didn't know which one I should go to since I just recently moved here. I just so happened to be near this joint and thought if try it cuz if I liked then I could come back for more since it's close to home. It did the trick. Had about ten different flavors to choose from. I really liked the cake batter. Plenty of toppings. Different fresh fruits, nuts, candles, mochi. Typical stuff. The only thing they didn't have were cheesecake bites that I was craving so badly! It's ok though. I still enjoyed it. I personally love golden spoon and yogurt land but will say that I liked it here and wouldn't mind coming back for seconds. It was clean inside and the guy working there was very nice.

Secret Addiction really. It's right down the street from my house so I've been more than a few times since I discovered it exsists. Delicious yogurt! I love the vanilla mixed with the tart! It's so great. I like the toppings bar too. The staff seem nice and it's always clean when I go. This is my number 1 frozen yogurt place for sure.

Quite possibly the overall best froyo place in the valley. The owner is very involved, to a level not typically seen and the place reflects her ideals for healthy choices, all the way down to the website, a level of detail very rarely seen in any restaurant. Probably this being an independent store has something to do with it... Like several other places of this type, the choices here are dizzying and with various specials, it can become overwhelming trying to narrow down the choices for a single visit. Great stuff if you're a froyo fan and living in the area, less good if you're more remote, but the all encompassing circle includes offerings for everyone, all the way from gluten-free to diabetic. The scope here is perhaps more amazing than impressive, but it is unquestionably vast, including pre-packaged to-go tubs. If you have the great difficulty making up your mind, such as yours truly, there are dividers that go in the cup, to segment and keep everything separate, which is handy, in case you get a funky flavor, though I've yet to run across one. If nothing else, you can keep the flavors from mixing or otherwise being diluted. As far as froyo places go, this is how it should be done and the new gold standard.

The yogurt was awful! The water was warm. The candies were also awful. I put Oreos on top and they were chewy.
