Paradise Bakery Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I go to this place once or twice a month to eat lunch with my mother, who insists that she loves the soups. Who is a man to argue with his mother? That said, you can, perhaps, take this review with a grain of salt because I am indeed coming in with a tiny chip on my shoulder. Seriously, though, Paradise is nothing special, and I would strongly recommend something locally-owned in the South Valley such as Pop on Over versus this corporate assembly line restaurant. Don't get me wrong, the food is edible, it's just incredibly uninteresting and seems about as cookie cutter as they get. The sandwiches are fairly meager in their assembly, my mother often looks at my sandwich and says, "That's it?" I respond with a, "Uh, yeah!" Always I hope that such comments will clue her in that the Paradise experience is not so paradisical for me, but no, we're always back in a couple of weeks. Speaking again of the soup, I don't use the word "meh" very often, I consider it to be rude, boring and trite, but hey, what the hell, meh! The soups taste like they come from a master supply tubed in from the corporate headquarters somewhere in a state even redder than Utah. There is no soup for you here, that is, if you care at all about the consumption of interesting, quality soup. No quality soup for you! And, of course, since this restaurant is bland and boring, it naturally attracts herds of Utah culinary cattle. These are the same people that consider The Cheesecake Factory to be fine dining, and Cafe Rio to be authentic rustic Mexican cooking. Ah, heck, they're alright, they are probably just looking for a quick bite, but come on, people, be a little bit more imaginative once in a while. You pack this place like sardines at lunch, is that really a pleasing dining experience for you? A couple other quibbles. The place is waaaaay too busy at lunch, to the point that finding a clean, empty table is nearly impossible. The masses tear through the lemons near the drink station so voraciously, that I am often left with only a rind and a couple of seeds. The bathroom is a bit frightening...the door to the men's room never quite closes all of the way. Oh yeah, and the bread from this "bakery", absolutely not special. Hmmm, why can't I smell bread baking when I come in here? I can even smell bread baking at Subway, for goodness sake. Okay, point made, rant over.

Ugh I am sorry but this food reminds me of the cafeteria food in high school! I was expecting something like Panera or Kneaders quality, but it is far from it. It was super disappointing to eat here for the first time, I had much higher expectations. The turkey sandwich had meat on it that was the packaged lunch meat you get from the store and a floppy piece of bacon. The BBQ chicken salad....oh man...the BBQ chicken was actually a pile of mush they scooped up with an ice cream scoop and dumped on top of it. I also had a chocolate chip cookie so after 2 bites of my real food I at least thought I had this cookie to enjoy and fill me up. The cookie was gross too, better off with my box of Charleston Chews for a dessert. STICK WITH KNEADERS that has quality fresh meat and ingredients! I never write reviews on stuff but being so disappointed I couldn't help but warn everyone else. Waste of $ honestly.

I have given this particular location so many chances, but it has consistently disappointed. The service is horrible and the preparation of food unsanitary. If you have any food allergies, don't come here. They re-use dirty dishes to mix salads and aren't shy to do it in front of your face. The health department should be visiting these guys shortly.

Service was extremely down graded. I talked my wife, who didn't want to come back to Paradise Cafe, to try lunch there again. Slow to get food out and it was cold. They whipped us through the line to cash register and sat us .. Lost the small cafe feeling and my business .

I arrived in the area early for a meeting, so randomly decided to stop by this place to have a light bite for breakfast with coffee. I got a big cup of coffee and a bran muffin. Coffee was not a high-end brand by any means. The muffin had adequate flavor but struck me as being somewhat stale. Not overly impressed by this place.

The food is decent. I love the soup, and certain sandwiches. The service here is not the best. Very unfriendly person at the cashier. Wish I could have given a better rating, but this specific location isn't the greatest.

Welcome to Paradise Bakery...the slightly, uh...challenged...sister of Panera Bread. Now, neither Paradise nor Panera is a home run lunch spot by any means, but for a traveling businessman they are predictable and they do have free wifi. Paradise falls very short when it comes to both food and service, however. Very weak sandwich selection, only three soups on the board, and grossly overpriced salads for the quality. To illustrate my point - the mixed greens salad is $4.49 and is nothing more than a handful of chopped salad you'd pull from a prepackaged bag. This would be a $1.99 side salad at many restaurants. I requested red onion and croutons and was informed that the extras are 50 cents each. This was laughable considering I got just three onion rings and only a few croutons actually stayed on the salad before rolling off onto the tray. The checkout lady did not charge me, but still...the nerve! Would they have reduced the price of my salad by a dollar if I gave back the tomato and the cucumber? Perhaps, I should have asked. The staff at this location had a hard time keeping up with table bussing, and about half the tables on one side of the dining area had old dishes on them for 15min or so after I arrived. This was before the lunch rush, maybe they weren't fully staffed yet? Regardless of my complaints, here I am, sipping an iced tea and using their free wifi. I'll probably do it again some time too.

Food was good. Customer Service was horrible. The girl who was taking orders for Sandwiches was a total bitch. She kept directing me to the soup and salad and I tried to tell her multiple times i wanted sandwich. She would cut me off while I was talking and with an attitude telling me you need to order soup and salads down the line. Once again I told her ok but I also want a sandwich. So I gave up trying to explain to her ghetto attitude. Then she had the nerve to talk to an employee and talk shit, like i was the idiot. It's a good thing the manager was checking us out and I hope he does something about her attitude.

I like the food here. And it's consistent enough, I suppose. We were just waiting in line to get breakfast and the group of 6 people in front of us were undecided and taking their time. They finally finish ordering in the breakfast line, and it's our turn. We're informed that breakfast ended at 11 and it had been 11 for maybe 30 seconds. There wasn't anyone in line behind us and we had been in the breakfast line for ten minutes. He wouldn't even make an exception and be courteous enough to give us a breakfast croissant. We had to order lunch instead. It's not even about the fact I didn't get breakfast, but the principle.

The salad was just a regular salad, but there was an apple based sauce in the dressing. The best part of the salad was actually the apple crisps (super crispy and flavorful). Nothing spectacular, but was decent for being under $10.

Very very good food. It's amazing how good the sandwiches are! All of the items on the menu are fresh and delicious. The staff is nice and the atmosphere is very inviting. I've gone here multiple times and it's always been as good as the first time. The desserts are also very delicious. It's a perfect place to go for lunch. Just make sure you come with money to spend.

What a joke! This cafe has the rudest most unprofessional staff I have personally ever encountered. Usually is an employee here and there that isn't good. But the 3 associates I dealt with today were horrible, rude bitches and pricks. Let me start with Ana, she's a bitch, she was pushy and rude and condescending in every interaction I had with her (unfortunately 3 times) she was rude and put out when I asked for a fruit cup for my daughter instead of the yogurt packet, and when I got cookies she was a bitch. Then there was Chris (I think that was his name, had a hard time seeing his name tag) when I got to the register I asked for a drink also and he again, like Ana seemed put out by my request. Who'd have thought that asking for an overpriced drink would bug someone. Chris, you're a dick. Oh and he forgot to give it to me. When I asked, hmm treated like shit. Then Natasha she is a rude associate as well. She was snappy to me and heard her dodging work as best she could with other customers by being rude. All in all, miserable experience, the staff RUINED our experience and I will never come back and be sure to tell others to steer clear. The manager Gia should be ashamed for her staff.

yuk! Just had the cookies...If you like undercooked, doughy, flavorless (unless you count a chemical taste), fat cookies, these are for you. I don't think I ever had a worse cookie, even from grocery stores!

Sandy is a ridiculous place. Great/terrible example of the development of the West. I was trying to get to the REI, but just couldn't handle it after being in Moab for a week biking Canyonlands. I did find this place though. I assume this place is a chain, but my meal was excellent. Paradise Vegetarian sandwich and a small Greek salad. Some staff members were very friendly while others made me feel like I was standing on a factory conveyor belt. The cookie that came with my meal was amazing!! PS. Was there enough name dropping in the first paragraph?

The first person we saw in the restaurant was very curt and abrupt, did not offer any information to us. He also coughed all over his sleeve and wasnt wearing gloves and he was working with food. We decided on 2 kids pb and j, I got the half sandwich, half soup, my husband got a roastbeef sandwich. We hadnt been here in about 5 years, so we didnt remember the ordering process. After the first person dismissed us, we were left to stand around wondering what we were supposed to be doing next. A woman asked us if we had soup and what size. I said I didnt know what size, it was the half and half thing. Isnt she supposed to know my order and what size soup? She fills a very small bowl and sets it on the counter and doesnt say another word to us. We are once gain left to look around and wonder what we are supposed to do, no one is around. Those who are will not divulge their secrets. Finally another woman comes up to the cash register 20 feet away and tells us we pay and they bring it out. Good to know. She is also curt and gives us as little information as she can possibly get away with. We sit down and our food comes. For 5 dollars each, my kids each get a HALF of a peanut butter jelly sandwich. One of them gets 3 half inch chunks of canteloupe and 2 half inch chunks of pineapple. Why so stingy? The other one gets go gurt in a tube. It was not indicated on the menu that the yogurt would be that horrible go gurt. All the cookies are chocolate chip. I thought I was going to get to pick my cookie. The tomato soup was made from canned tomatoes and I could have made it better in 10 seconds in my blender if I was at home. The sandwiches were puny for nine dollars. As I am writing this review at the table, an employee is sweeping right under our chairs as we sit in them. The food not that great, the service bad, the value for what you get is very low. I'll never come back. Oh, and even though someone swept around and under us while we were still eating, no one else said another word to us. There are a million better places to eat, go to them and dont waste time here.

Another restaurant that seemed to start out good, then started going downhill. I don't mind paying a little more if the food is worth it, but I feel nickle and dimed for lower than average. Place was dirty, had to scrap a layer of film off the soup and the bottom was burned. Bread seemed day old, as did the cookie. Will not be going back anytime soon.

Great club! Free cookie with samitch? The staff is super friendly. Really my only gripe is every time i go in i have to explain that i want an iced latte. No i dont want a hot latte then poured over ice. They have a good stuffed croissant with ham and cheese in the morning as well.

I've visited this Paradise Bakery several times for lunch, and I know I like it. But I'm still undecided about the majority of their menu items...that is, except for the cookies. No proper female can resist the wicked chewy overload of chocolate chips and exquisiteness that is their chocolate chip cookies. And they give you one with each meal! They're divine, though, and should ideally be consumed by the half-dozen, slightly warmed, with a large glass of cold milk, in the privacy of one's own home. Trust me on this and grab a few while you're there. I consistently lament over their lunch menu, because I can never recall what I've tried before. If you know me at all, you'll recognize that this does not speak well of their salads and soups, because one thing I do know is that my former orders have been comprised of these two. I recall trying a sandwich or two in the beginning, which weren't bad, but resolved to stick to the soup and salad in the future. I know I've had the Asian Chicken Salad. It has crisp veggies and fairly fresh ingredients. But they load up the bowl with so much lettuce that the ratio is way off. Tasty salad dressings, with oil and vinegar options. Their tomato basil soup is quite good. Others are decent, but forgettable. One of my pet peeves about Paradise is their order/pickup/payment process. I am not in favor of the cafeteria setup. It reminds me of grammar school, and it's just not my cup of tea to grab a tray, slide it along and figure out how to get everything on it, then stop at the drink/utensil/condiment station, strategically stack it all up on the tray and pray you make it to your table without dumping the whole schlemeizel on someone. It's so...ChuckARama or something. The service here is typically friendly. But it's a line, so they're trying to get you through it and on to the next person. So it can feel a bit rushed at times. The prices are a little high for what you get. But it's really not bad food. It's just not memorable, gotta-have-it-again food. On that note, I'm quite sure I'll have it again. I'll at least drop in for cookies.

Nice soup and sandwich joint. Ive had their salads and different sandwiches. Nice portion size and the food always tastes good. And a cookie to boot. Get there early cause they are busy.. for good reason.

I came to Paradise bc it's been a really long time since I have had it so it is kind-of a treat for me. This location was not particularly busy which surprised me. I ordered the half sandwich/ half salad deal. For the salad, I had the greek salad. Wasn't the greatest greek i ever had but they do prepare it with fresh ingredients, right in front of you. The sandwich however was really good it was the turkey cranberry. The cranberry sauce was made from real cranberries... Quite tasty! Only draw back is the menu does not tell you everything that is in the sandwich so it had mayo (which i could have done without.) The staff was nice, the location is good (on a main street and easy to get to), it was a tad cold inside (for my liking), and they had music in the back ground. I liked it and would come back! Ps read my tip about the desserts here :)

Ugh, don't be fooled...this chain is nothing like Panera Bread Co. You would think a place like this would emphasize the quality of their bread since it is...you know, a bakery. The first red flag was when we stepped into the place and there was no smell whatsoever. When was the last time you were in a bakery and not smell anything?? Overpriced doesn't even begin to describe this place. I got a whole roast beef sandwich, and my wife got a half turkey cranberry sandwich. While I am relatively confident that we could have requested specific toppings, we were not offered any choices, nor was there any listing of the available breads, spreads, or toppings. As it was, my sandwich came on what was the absolute worst ciabatta bread I have ever had...it was flavorless, had no "bite" to the crust, and was so heavily floured that that was the dominant flavor. I didn't know Wonder made ciabatta! Otherwise, it was a pretty bland sandwich...a little horseradish sauce, lettuce, tomato, and supermarket deli roast beef. How about a little red onion for crying out loud? With a little cookie, you charge me $8 for this?? My wife's half turkey sandwich was on a similarly flavorless wheat "Paradise" bread that tasted like it came out of a home bread machine. There was a little mayo, cranberry, lettuce, tomato, and deli turkey. $5! We also split a bowl ($6) of tomato soup...a mediocre version. It was nicely chunky but cloyingly sweet and thick as ketchup. This meal cost us over $20 without even any beverages...are you kidding? A local supermarket chain, Harmons, has far better artisan bread (kind of a sad thought)...I think we'll make our own sandwiches next time.

I will give this four stars for deliciousness. It's on a level with Panera/St. Louis Bread Co, and while I know that's just another chain, I really like it. So four stars. Anyway - really delicious sandwiches. Turkey bacon avocado club, a sierra chicken with olive spread, etc. I'm just thinking these are a cut above your standard deli sandwich offerings. Our combos came with chips, a little pasta salad (good, with NO onions, yaay!) and a delicious cookie. Not as undercooked as most cookies can be when the restaurant wants to keep them soft. Worth it. I had never heard of this place until I got to Salt Lake. Maybe it's their Panera?

So sad, I really love their BBQ salad, but find myself scared to go back. My friend picked up a pack of cookies to go and shared them with us (at work). When we I took a bite of my snicker doodle cookie I happened to look at the cookie and found an ant baked into the cookie. Not that an ant is a scary thing but unappetizing for sure. She chose not to call them and complain, but I feel someone should know. Hopefully they look at yelp!

Great food and friendly staff. I'm in there several times a week and always get the same great service. Joel is really sweet! He gave me some extra cookie one day for the girls at work! They really appreciated them.

Food is always good and while they try hard, service can be slow and disorganized during the peak lunch hour.
