Jims is a franchise that has maintained the 'Mom&Pop' of a hometown eatery. Many regulars and new comers alike find Jims treats all like family. The food is good and the service friendly.

I ate here the last time I stayed in Sandy. It's located right next to the Hampton Inn I frequently stay at. The food is so bad, just looking at it reminded me to write this review. If I had to find a comparison, I would say it reminded me of cafeteria food in high school. Do yourself a favor and stay away from here. The service was very laid back and friendly when they came by, to their credit.

Stopped in here three times on my most recent home scouting mission to Utah, mainly because it was located in such close proximity to our hotel and the food was awesome. I stopped in for both breakfast and dinner times, and the experiences were not a disappointment. The menu here is of your typical diner variety and portion sizes are gigantic. On my breakfast visit, I had an omelet (which was about the size of my forearm) that was quite tasty with a little tabasco drizzled over the top, served with a large portion of hash browns and toast. It was delicious, but far more than I had the stomach capacity to polish off. On a visit for dinner, I opted for the chicken fried steak with homemade mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. This was also amazing. The chicken fried steak was not-over breaded and the mashed were fresh and hot. All dinner entrees are served with both soup and salad, which is damn near enough for a meal in and of itself, so do not overdo it on these or you will not make it through very much of your entree. My Mom, who was with me to help me house hunt, had the "famous" marinated pork that our server recommended on our 3rd visit that she absolutely raved about. She is typically a harsh critic of restaurants just in general, so I would take that as a positive point in favor of Jim's as well. Places like this are not for everyone, but if you are looking for a homestyle type of meal, you could do much worse and the prices are cheap. 2 people can easily have a great dinner for under 20 bucks.

Overall, I was pleased with the service and the food. Our server was so nice and very on the ball. However, I requested tomatoes on the side instead of toast and potatoes. I was given some tomatoes that were just barely acceptable. They were edible, but soft. Also, I got charged extra for the tomatoes, which is not usually what most restaurants do. When I went to pay, I asked the manager if he could take the tomatoes off the bill since I didn't have the toast and potatoes. He very nicely did so. I really enjoyed my meal here.

i just had breakfast here... I had the Avocado, Mushroom, Cheese Omelette....It was very good. Service was great and the Boysenberry syrup was great on the pancake. Fast service, and the order was correct. I was not disappointed with the value. About average prices. I would definitely return.

Good stuff and friendly waitresses. I had the 2 egg breakfast with bacon and taters. Definitely get their salsa for your food, it's excellent! Everything was cooked to order and our waitress was very friendly.

Like a Village Inn with a little more variety. I'd pick Johanna's Kitchen over this place, but it's not the worst restaurant I've ever eaten at.

I have been meeting some friends there on Wednesday morning for several years and have the same waitress. Let Rae know we will keep coming back for the abuse. Ha ha.

Our family eats breakfast at Jim's every few weeks and we believe it's the best value for the money in the area. Food is good, portions are big and reasonably priced. We've been to two other Jim's and the experience has been the same. The only drawback about the Sandy location, which is closest to our home, is that the waitresses are a bit rude. Not friendly like you'd expect at such a place.

This was my second time trying this place. It's just your run of the mill diner with okay food, decent service, and sticky seats. I got the French toast combo which comes with 3 pieces of French toast, 2 eggs and bacon, sausage or ham. I got my combo with bacon and I was disappointed with how thin and low quality the bacon was. You'll get better bacon at iHOP or Village Inn. The French toast seemed like it was made with a sourdough bread which isn't my favorite but others may like that. Overall, it wasn't bad, but I'll go to a different diner next time.

After 10 years... I'm finally writing a review. This place has been great. Very consistent in service and food quality. It's probably because of Richard (thanks Richard) By comparison to all of the surrounding restaurants, this is my favorite. Good food, good price, clean, and polite. The parking lot can be awkward to access the freeway, though.

My mom and I ate at the 106th S. location in Sandy, UT last night (3/13). Our experience was so bad it just came to the point we were laughing. The server just plain didn't care. At all. After tracking her down a couple of times we did get what we needed, but without a smile or any kind of friendly gesture. And the food-seriously?!?! We paid $16 for the ribeye "special". The plate came out looking just plain gross. Grey steak, watery colorless veggies, and a broken potato. The steak was so tough the knife couldn't cut through it. I ended up picking it up to bite off chunks that took way too long to chew. The vegetables were obviously a frozen bag of mixed veggies which is never tasty, but these weren't even cooked through and were cold in the middle. I will say the baked potato was fine. Then we got custard for dessert and it was floating in some kind of liquid/water in the bottom of the bowl and had curdled chewy egg pieces throughout. Not to mention there was no depth to the flavor at all-just tasted like sugar. We considered complaining but decided it wasn't worth the effort because the server wouldn't likely be very helpful. We decided we might say something when checking out with the manager but he didn't bother asking how things were and barely said two words to us (which were not thank you). I haven't ever been so disappointed in a dining experience. $30 down the tube.

So, come to find out that Jim's Marinated Pork and Eggs breakfast is pretty dang good. I noticed that the servers enjoy talking with each other over breakfast...subsequently my order came out warm, not hot. Good that the resto provides staff meal, but not at the expense of my hot food...warm food.

I like to get breakfast here. Today I ordered the corn beef hash and eggs. Not so good. Eggs were great, toast was slathered with oil and the corn beef hash had more grease than Danny Zuko's hair. Flo did come a couple of times and splashed coffee into our cups and asked us about our meals as she walked away. Not their best showing. They just remodeled and it looks great.
