My husband and I ate breakfast here. As far as classic American breakfasts go, it was fabulous and fairly priced. However, I can't give the place 5 stars since the building and furniture are worn out and falling apart. I would eat there again, though I would never take anyone there who requires a nice environment.

This place makes you miss home. The people that own and work the place treat you like you are some good church buddies that go worship the Lord together every Sunday. The portions are monstrous. For only $5 you can stuff your face until its time to unbutton your pants, take a five minute break, and then jump right back into eating. The service is awesome because they don't bug you. They give you your food and let you eat away the stresses of life. For making all of the eggs, pancakes, and everything else fresh, the service is also pretty quick. Which is good because your mouth will be begging you to get started.

Having just moved to Sandy, I was determined to find a good, local breakfast joint. This place is super cozy and homey...but much tidier than my home. I went on a slow Sunday morning, so don't know about the service when it's busy. Everything took a little while to come out, but when it did come out it was obvious that that's because they were actually cooking it AFTER I ordered it! What a concept! As for the food, I'm not a chicken-fried steak connoisseur, but that was the best CFS I've ever had in my life...again, they actually seem to have made it there instead of pulling it out of a bag of frozen CFS's. The pancakes also tasted homemade and were big and fluffy. I would have liked crispier potatoes, but I didn't specifically ask for them crispy, so no harm, no foul. Also, the eggs were actually cooked over-medium, as ordered (rather than slightly more than over-easy but still slimy whites, thankfully). The coffee was decent and the waitress was very nice and came over consistently without hovering.

Talk about a PANCAKE!! ...and everything else is delicious. I visit Utah every so often and stay just down the street from Jim's Diner. This is definitely the place to go for some great breakfast. I usually get the Denver omelet...YUM! The staff is friendly and very funny. Good People! Now it may not LOOK like much...my girlfriend was not interested at first. Completely changed her opinion and I'm pretty sure she'll be going back regularly. Thanks again for the food and the laughs!

Came on a suggestion from a friend. Based on the look of the place I normally would NEVER step foot inside. Inside the atmosphere was what I would expect from a diner. Nice and clean, but a bit dated. We can for lunch, we were the only ones in the place. So the service was pretty focused on us. :) They apparently focus on Soccer game days because 80% of the menu was "off-limits". We resorted to asking what she recommended. Jim was dressed nice and no chest hair exposed. I got the pastrami burger. The burger was excellent and the fries were great. I'm not a fan of fries, but these were actually worth eating. Very good. Monster helping of fries. Entire potato? I'll definitely come back again.

These are the best pancakes I've ever eaten in my entire life! The home fries were delectable too! And the prices are so easy on your wallet.

Food was great! Homemade pita-type bread for gyro and yummy spaghetti (and ginormous portion). The service and selection? Well, don't go on a soccer game day...

This place looks like it's been here for awhile and could be kind of cool if they put a little work into it. It sits right in front of the Rio Tinto Stadium. We got there about 10:00 am on Thursday and it looked like Jim had been out on an all night bender and was looking a little rough, shirt unbuttoned half way down his chest, Hair all messed up and not clean shaven(looked kind like that picture of when they caught Khalid Sheikh Mohammed) . We weren't sure if we wanted to stay or not, long story short I ordered a Denver Omelet and it was a thin flat omelet folded in half with ham sauteed onions and red peppers. It wasn't like any Denver I'd had before, not saying it was bad just kinda funky. He was burning something in the kitchen and my eyes were on fire so I had to get outta there! So my clothes smelled like funk the rest of the day! Probably wont be back, so many great breakfast places in town.

My friend and I were one of the over 100 people who traveled to watch our Seattle Sounders play Real Salt Lake at the beautiful Rio Tinto Stadium. Sunday morning before hitting the road, to travel all the way back to Seattle, we stopped at Jim's. Service was great, very friendly, and the breakfast was just exactly the big old-fashioned breakfast we needed to get our day off to a great start. I will definitely return, I would much prefer dining here again and even looking for a Denny's or somesuch other breakfast chain.

Surely the people that gave this place a good review are friends or family. We went after a Real game and the pics of the food I put on Facebook elicited nesr vomiting from most of my friends. Frozen veggies, bagged salad, and stale bread sound good? Go to Jims!

It may look sketchy, but some of the best places are! Get past the fact that they're not there to be fancy and you'll be fine! :) Amazing breakfast all day long and it's super cheap. Love the homemade potato hash and french toast! YUM. Super nice people too. Take it for what it is and enjoy.

Flies everywhere, extremely slow service took us over 30 minutes for 2 omelets and some pancakes. Food is good and portions are huge though.
