What I long for, is a local ice cream shop with character, charm, personality, creativity, and lots of interesting flavors. Until that comes along, I'm going to be satisfied with Baskin Robbins. Sure, it's a massive ice cream operation (Big Ice Cream?) but you have got to take your hat off to them for having so many dang flavors. I had a sundae last time, with peanut butter and chocolate and it almost put me on the ceiling. Very rich. Too sweet. But that's exactly what I ordered and I knew it. I'd say the best bet is to stick with a scoop or two. Grab a cone, maybe. It beats those pay-by-the-ounce joints and their crazy scheme. Whether it's a vibrant Play-doh looking fruity thing, or a chocolate and caramel and nutty ice cream thing, you'll probably find it here. Not much seating inside, so don't bring a huge group. Or plan to sit out on the curb if you do. But there's loads of parking, and the dollar theater is right around the corner, so make a night of it.

Unfortunately came back again since it is the only one near my house. Three or four groups in line and the one of only two employees on Saturday afternoon serves the person who just walks in the door! I told the employee who was serving me she should tell her coworker to serve the people who are waiting, not the person who just walked in. No response and no action. Finally the poor lady behind me spoke up and got served. A very clueless and uncaring group. MANAGEMENT YOUR EMPLOYEES NEED TRAINING!!!

Yummy ice cream! Incompetent employees took our coupon, didn't honor it, and overcharged us another 3 dollar sundae. When we pointed out their mistake they refused to refund anything and said we were compensated via bigger scoops of ice cream ( that didn't seem large at all to begin with).

I recently ordered a custom ice cream cake for a large family party. Having tasted dry, flavor-lacking ice cream cakes from Coldstone and DQ in the past, I thought I'd give these guys a try. Not only were the cakes reasonably priced, B-R only needs 24 hours notice for a custom cake. I got a chocolate cake with mint chocolate ice cream and it was SO delicious! It was a hit at the party and I would definitely order from them again. P.S. - Their ice cream is yummy too!

I suppose BR lost its charm in the past many years with more and more modernized dessert shops popping up left and right in town. With many of their locations closing down, this is one of the few locations left in the chain. Definitely not a place I would think of for ice cream social anymore. However, I still visit them for ice cream cake, as they are quite proficient at them even with short notices. Location is still convenience at the heart of Sandy.
