Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

My wife and I, when I can talk her into pizza, tend to favor the The Pie, or Este. She hails from a family of cooks and chef's in Mexico City, is a savant in the kitchen in her own right, and quite frankly where pizza's concerned, she could honestly take it or leave it. Ive been on a quest for the last three and a half years to find a truly great pizza here in Salt Lake so she might at least "get" this occasional pizza jones Im sometimes afflicted with. We got on Yelp last night, determined to try somewhere new, and we found Sicilia Pizza. The immediate appeal was that it wasn't a chain and Im always looking for a place here in Salt Lake that holds at least a dim candle to what "Ray's" in New York City used to be back in the 80's. That perfect combination of hot melted cheese, basil, garlic tomato, and grease that just exploded into this symphonic Sicilian bliss once it hit your tongue. Truly it was amazing, and Ive been looking without luck ever since. We read a few of the reviews here, looked at the menu and ordered a thin crust, with red sauce, and added mushrooms, green olives, artichoke hearts, and garlic. The guy on the phone told us they were running a little late and that it would probably be an hour before the pie arrived and I thought, "good, at least they're busy... might be a good sign". We opened the box and were hit immediately with the smell of the anchovy and garlic. So far so good. We had sliced some of our own roma tomatoes and put them on a couple of slices and dug in. Upon first bite the Pizza was luke warm, and the cheese had hardened somewhat. I attributed that to the pie sitting in the delivery guys car for too long. The problem was, there was next to NO sauce on this pizza and the further I got into it, the worse it got. The crust tasted as though it had been sitting in some forgotten corner of the kitchen most of the night and it sort of disintegrated in my mouth the way old toast does. Did I mention there was no sauce? The green olives appeared as though they had been taken out of a bottle of martini olives as they were small and the end pieces still had pimento in them. All in all, Ive had pizzas at Chuck E. Cheeses back when my kids were young that were better and more satisfying. This place may be ok for in house dining, but our experience with their delivery product was not a good one. The search goes on.

I love Sicilia. It's not fancy pizza at all. In fact, it's pretty typical American pizzeria style pizza. But the crust is quite a bit better than the average pizza. Every time I go I find myself savoring the crust and wishing I had more. Because the crust is the star here, I find that the simpler pizzas are the best. They have a number of specialty pizzas, but I don't like them quite as much as just an ordinary pepperoni. Sicilia also gets major kudos for actually being open late. When I work a late shift and get done with work at 11:30 I can still swing over for a later dinner.

Always a great post-bar night. Great pizza with fast and friendly service. We frequent this place because it is a great place!

Went here late night with a couple of friends bar hopping. Wanted a good slice of pizza before heading home. Liked that it was sold by the slice, and a great selection! Would recommend to anyone in the area.

The owner just gave me a second FREE slice of pizza because my cheese one was old ( it still tastes amazing!!) !! This place is the bomb.com !! And they now have alcohol!!

OK here's what I ordered and the low down of my feelings about the restaurant and staff... Ordered **********Pepperoni and sausage with white sauce on the well done side....10 stars(out of 5)...super duper duper yummy!! Loved it *The California with pesto....1 star. Oh I'm so sorry but I didn't care for it...way too much garlic, avocados didn't seem fresh...I don't know, it may have even been the wrong pizza, not sure. But maybe someone with a different pallette might like it *****5 stars-Staff was very nice and friendly Bottom Line I would definitely definitely go back but I'd stick with what I know I love....

Stopped by for lunch at around 12:15PM on a Monday. I had the two slice special. Honestly, the pizza wasn't great at all. They open at 11AM and I don't understand why the pizza was so bad and it didn't feel fresh. I've tried pizza under heat lamps at other places before and even those places heat lamp pizzas were better. I'm willing to give this place another shot, because lunch may not be their forte, maybe dinner?????

Pizza by the slice has been delicious every time I stop in. The pizza tastes Better and is Fresher than that place up the road. Highly Recommend!!

Awesome pizza! Their "beat the clock" deal is a great value for a quick weekday dinner too! I've never had a bad pizza from them.

I just spontaneously went here because I had a coupon for 50% off. I got a small personal pizza. Normally $8. But I paid about $4.35 with my coupon. I got the vegetable pizza. And I thought it was really good! Personally I don't think I'd pay regular price, but I had no complaints from my first visit.

The spinach and tomato pizza is my favorite in Utah. The sandwiches and salads are okay. It's a shame that it's always empty when I go there.

Wow finally a place where to eat a really good pizza. If you're tired of those nonsense pizza that just are ragu sauce with toppings, then this your place, a pizzeria with really good taste and style. 100% recommended.

Best pizza in SLC. Love the chicken parmesan pizza and the spinach and tomato pizza. Definitely the best pizza ever! The tomatoes on the pizza are fresh everytime. The crust is amazing! so soft and delicious Kinda reminds me of soft pretzels. Yummmm

Best pizza I've had in years.

Decided to try this place since its one of the few pizza joints in Salt Lake that had a Sicilian pizza. The Sicilian we received was a simple cheese pizza not even close to what a Sicilian is. A Sicilian= deep dish with sauce on top. We ate a couple pieces and tossed the rest for the lack of flavor.

I still dig this place, and their new location is much better. Is the pizza authentic? I don't know. I don't even know what that word means when it comes to food. But the pizza is tasty, and the crust is my favorite in Salt Lake. I'm pretty sure they put crack in the white sauce, and I've had a couple of their subs, which I've really enjoyed as well.

This is a great place for a fresh pie. Don't judge by the bad pizza under the lamp. Friendly staff will help you, and you will not be sorry. Great selection, late night and fast!
(5)Dwight F.
For pizza with that personal homemade touch this is the place. The crust is crisp and pretzel tasting, the sauce has just enough zing, the cooks care about what they prepare and though they don't have a fancy oven they get a great pie out of what they have. The beers good and cold and the prices low. What more can you ask for? Enjoy - I did.

I was really, really disappointed with the pizza from this place. The pizza was really "blah" and underwhelming; it looks nothing like the photos on their website! The sauce tastes like it came out of a jar, and their cheese and seasoning were not appetizing. Not to mention--they forgot to put the correct ingredients on the pizza when we requested to build our own AND they forgot the salad we ordered. Total bummer. Initially I was stoked to find a place that delivered past 11:00 pm in SLC, but I have to say, I'll never be ordering delivery from here again.

I have been to Sicilia often and find I always leave satisfied. The pizza is wonderful and you must try the new Asian Sensation pizza.....the sauce is incredible! And the staff, soooo friendly! Say hello to Julie, she's awesome!!

I'm not sure what "style" of pizza this place would fit in but it's okay pizza. It's next to the Broadway movie theater so it's good for a pre or post movie stop. Or a warm place to warm up/recharge during the Gallery Stroll. They have pizza by the slice so this can be a fast stop if you need something to hold you over. Their crust is pretty tasty so I prefer their calzones over their pizza. Although my last calzone was a bit black, it didn't taste burnt. The cheese bread is super thin, basically thin dough with lots of cheese. This is not one of these "gourmet" specialty pizza places, it's just a neighborhood piz'za joynt. They also offer movie and food packages and if you're trying to catch a show, let them know. They also have a small selection of desserts.

Crust was awesome, everything else was very bland. Way over priced for what you get. I should have read the reviews before I wasted $42 just to trash half of it.

This place is good , white sauce pizza with tomato and basil is yummy... Too bad the owner is a dick! Wont be returning since he yelled at me last time!!

When I lived in SLC, I ate here at least 1-2 times per week. If you like vegetarian pizza, try the New York White Garlic Pizza. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because it is slightly expensive. They do have a "beat the clock" special though that is a good deal, where you get a three topping pizza for same price as the time you order it (order at 5:20pm, pay $5.20, etc).

$6 for three bites of lasagne was a little disappointing. I wanted this place to be good but I was not impressed with this spot :(
(2)Andrew D.
Mediocre & uninspiring. AVOID THE PIZZA UNDER THE HEAT LAMPS. Ok place if you are up late and just need something to fill your belly. Staff is often very friendly.
(1)Burton T.
the pizza tasted good but the reason i ordered is the flyer they left at my door which shows a deep dish pizza in the picture, the pizza i recieved was very thin and looked nothing like the picture. and was over priced for the amount of food.
(2)Kimmie A.
Love this style of pizza!! My favorite is the chicken amori with white sauce. Thanks for the great pizza Amro!
(5)Kelie H.
We ordered the Chicken Napoli and the Hawaiian something or other, the name escapes me. I really loved the idea of ricotta on pizza and the Chicken Napoli didn't disappoint. I wasn't as fond of the hawaiian as the ham was like chunks of a breakfast ham steak and wasn't what I was expecting. The dough is pretty soft and floppy but I didn't feel like it was undercooked. The crust was particularly yummy and I liked the sauce a lot. A little sweet, but not too sweet, and with just enough bite. I loved the dough so well that I think I would skip pizza and go right for a calzone next visit. After reading the reviews on the whole chicken wings, I am excited to go back and try those and maybe some pizza by the slice, too.

in the old location where plum alley is now, this pizza joint was good. i loved the herbs they put on top but i ordered delivery to main street and she forgot the ranch and parm which i paid for. pizza was really thin and lacked toppings and seasoning like it once had. cutting corners are not going to win you customers and im sure there new location isnt cheap rent but skimping isnt going to help either. prices are average but not for what you get so i guess you could say its not worth it.

Started with the 8" calzone and it was good. The side of marinara sauce really made it tasty. The downside was that I - and everyone else that had it - were still hungry when we were finished. We each then ordered a slice of pizza to supplement the calzone and that was good too. The crust was chewy and the toppings were fresh. The downside here was the price, as each slice was just over three bucks. Overall, the food was good, but when you take the price into consideration, it could be better.

This place just gave me the heebie-jeebies. It just didn't seem clean. the counter top was dirty, the trays were dirty, the floor was disgustingly dirty. The table tops felt like they had a greasy film on top. Service wasn't that friendly. I was glad to hurry up and eat and get the heck outta there. The one piece of white sauce tomato and spinach pizza wasn't too bad, but the pepperoni had sat under their heat lamp for too long, the cheese was even hard. Left still hungry and feeling like I needed to shower.
