Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

While the throwback '70s/'80s decor is appealing, the food is not. The salad bar looked like it had not been attended to since the '80s. My friend and I ordered the personal pizza and it reminded me of my lame attempts to make pizza at home in my Toast-R-Oven as a teenager. The crust was like a stale pita and the cheese was barely melted. I shan't be going back soon.

Not worth it. over priced and the food wasn't very good. Stay home and cook your own Italian food and you'll do a better job.

Our family has been going here for years. It is a local family owned place, and it really feels that way. Because we have been patrons for so many years, they even sent flowers when a member of our family died (which is incredible since we only know them as guests of their restaurant)! The chef is exceptional and we always enjoy our experience. The pizza is wonderful! The decor is cute and charming. You should definitely check it out if you haven't been yet!

One of our favorite pizza joints. Pasta is ok, but the reason to go here is for the pizza. Crumbled sausage with pepperoni is tasty!
(4)Mark G.
Great pizza! Especially the dough & sause. They have a minimum of fresh produce for creative toppings, all the standard canned stuff, but the pizza itself, makes up for it! Very clean flavor. Coming into the healthy generation is a trick for this died-in-the wool pizza parlor, good prices too and a salad bar with all the common ingredients, sprots, beets, * hydro-salad dressings.

I talked my girlfriend into going here because I'd been there once before years ago and always remembered the garlic bread! Well let me tell ya, they still have garlic bread...but it wasn't quite as good as I remembered. My girlfriends meal was stupendous and her chicken with creamy marinara was and I quote "really creamy!" Her side of alfredo was also creamy, but not very flavorful. We found an alfredo recipe online that beats the pants off of it! My "grilled" ham and cheese was not grilled after all, and was rather blah. . .blah. . .blah. The baked potato, however, was a tasty morsel. Never tried the pizza there so don't really consider it a pizza joint. We might go back if we had a 100% off coupon.

Never been a real good place for Italian food. When I was there last month it had gone down hill. I ordered a dish with "creamy marinara" after the waitress said it was very good. It was not. It will be my last time here.

Robintino's is always crowded. Not usually by me though. My family likes it, but I'm not a huge pizza guy. I like pasta and that is where robintino's fails. They don't put much effort into it i don't think. Their pizza is not terrible, but it's nothing I haven't tasted a million times before. The service is always top notch.
(2)Gary S.
Lasagna is really good, veal and chicken parmesan probably come from Costco. Prepared salads are really good but salad bar is small and picked over. The shrimp salad is great. Spaghetti is good, pizza - eh...
(3)Ariane A.
Lasagna is spot on. I don't even like lasagna because it's typically a noodly dryness. But here at robintinos it's a saucy cheesy yummyness! I crave this and their Hawaiian pizza on a regular basis. If it wasn't for their lousy service, I would have given them 5 stars. Seriously, consistently lousy service. Don't expect much and you'll be happy.
(4)Sean W.
Not bad but not great. The pizza is a liitle too greasy for my taste. The lasagna was okay...the slice they portion out to you is small though. But I got the pizza and lasagna plate so maybe the individual size is bigger? Overall not the best Italian food on Salt Lake but not the worst by far. I would go back if I was taken there but not because I choose it.

I wish I would have read the Yelp reviews before going here. This place is run down and probably had some better days with a better chef. It reminded me of the failing restaurants you would see on Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. I think the only reason one would go here is because of the gluten free pizza, aside from that the food just isn't great. Someone also suggested a frozen pizza from the store would have been better, I agree. Same with a frozen lasagna. The place needs a total overhaul!
(1)M H.
Don't bother!! I am a 25+ year patron and I won't ever go back. They have changed all their classics. Now very bland! It NOT the same.
(1)Robin A.
This location doesn't even compare to the bountiful location, it's like the ugly stepchild version. This place Is in need of a serious overhaul to bring it into this century, there are far better restaurants in the area to compete with. The food was meeeh not good but not bad either. We were the only ones in there, that should of been our sign to run! Our server was great though,I felt terrible as I'm sure she doesn't get much business.
(2)Jana A.
Tragically I can't rate their food because my husband and I waited to be seated for 30 minutes. Waited-To-be-Seated. So they didn't even have the courtesy to seat us and let us wait at a table. Couple other things- it wasn't busy. There's was maybe 5 diners. And by the time the 30 minutes was up there were two other elderly couples waiting to be seated. Basically if you're under the age of 50, this place isn't going to work for you. AND it smelled very weird (sour/stale/musty) are a few words that come to mind. Altogether saddening. It was a favorite restaurant of my late father in law many years ago. It felt like a nursing home cafeteria-only dirty.
(1)Margaret I.
My family ordered pizza from Robintino's for years, then I moved away. While visiting the fam back in the good ole SLC my mom suggested we order pizza. This was hands down the most terrible pizza I have ever eaten. Bland, soggy, and just generally gross. I seriously couldn't finish 1 slice. It's really too bad because I remember loving the place so much.
(1)Jc C.
First time here, I have to say they need a new cook. Hire a good cook, food I would not feed to my pets. Save your money go else where!!!
(1)Kristi R.
Slow service, over priced. Server couldn't take our menus after ordering. Our orders weren't correct, pizza is too thick and not flavorful. The place would be in chaos if they were actually busy. Little Caesars tastes better if that says much! Nothing to write home about. Definitely not on my return list.
(1)Cami M.
Food was typical Italian fare: not bad, but not amazing. Family friendly. Service not stellar, had to flag down server for everything: to order, for straws, later for another straw because he didn't give us enough, water refills twice, etc. Time from ordering to food delivery was unusually long.
(3)Jerry Z.
they've definitely made some changes, but they're for the better! the people complaining on here just aren't used to changes, it only makes sense for a company to keep up with the times. sure the prices have gone up, but not by much! so haven't the prices at the grocery stores etc. these people are just wanting to complain. they have great options of food and everything comes with either soup or salad, you don't have to pay extra for! this place rules
(5)Rachel M.
Frankly, this place sucks. Now, I'll eat any pizza. And I ate this pizza just fine. But, I'd definitely choose every other pizza place I know of over this. Maybe even Little Caesar's. Ok, no, this pizza is better than Little Caeser's, but not by much. This about sums it up: Canned mushrooms on the pizza, salad was all iceberg lettuce and cheese (I don't remember anything else being on it, but there may have been croutons or something) and the bread they give you is like a slice of white bread and ranch sauce. Everything was very poor quality. Service was sub-par. We went on a Saturday night at prime dinner time and the places was empty. I will say, however, it's relatively cheap. Update: Somebody brought a Robintino's lasagna to my family after my grandma died. It was good! So, pizza sucks, lasagna is good.

Just OK but their clientele loves it. Get the first part out of the way. Salad bar? Just don't. I listed my reasons here and decided to delete them. However, if you consider Chuckarama's salad bar gourmet, go ahead. Otherwise, just don't. Robintinos has been around since somewhere around 1970 and it looks like it. Time has stopped for the decor and wallpaper and shiny brass abound. The carpet is due for a redo as are the tables and chairs. They've done a great job for 40+ years now it's time to freshen them up. The clientele is older and probably many or most of them are regulars. It's the perfect place for someone like my aunt Bonnie & her boyfriend Frank. Both in their 80s, neither will spend over $10 on an entree and both consider anything other than salt excessive seasoning. If this is you, you'll love Robintinos. We went there at the suggestion of an older friend who is the perfect customer for Robintinos. Chairs uncomfortable, table plain with a few attempts at adding atmosphere. Six of us there so we ordered a pizza for starters. As noted in other reviews the mushrooms are straight out of a can and what passed for pepperoni probably was too. Way overcooked and tough. Crust was very plain and overcooked. Salad next. Basic iceberg lettuce, stale croutons and canned sliced pickled beets. Way overtook the taste of the salad which was OK because it was the one part of the salad that had flavor other than a weak blue cheese dressing. The pasta was an odd mixture of Penne, marinara and Parmesan. It tasted like the meat was boiled which killed any flavor. Marinara was very safe and overly sweet. Best news of the night? The Parmesan appeared to be real, not the synthetic Kraft stuff. That was the high point. Is Robintinos great Italian food? Absolutely not at least as far as I'm concerned. Yet some give the food five stars. It works for them. Is it good Italian food? To the audience they cater to, yes it is. But that's the beauty of food. Good is subjective. And believe me, Robintinos knows it's clientele, hits it in their sweet spot even if that is canned beets, mushrooms, etc., and probably will be around for years catering to exactly that group.

For a pizza place, Robintino's isn't bad. Biggest reason I go there is for the gluten free pizza as my dining partner is unable to eat anything else. She loves the GF dough and I think their regular dough is alright. Are there better pizza places in the valley? Most certainly, but this one isn't the worst by any means. Is the pasta good, well it is alright. It is no gourmet restaurant nor does it pretend to be. Staff is friendly though and it has that mom and pop feel to the place. All in all it is a good place to go.

I have always enjoyed coming here. When busy they can be a little disorganized and loose track of who came in when. But the prices are very reasonable and the food is always good.Service was great once I sat down. One drawback is NO WINE.

We used to love Robintinos and I still frequent the one in Bountiful. Unfortunately, the Salt Lake City location has gone downhill over the years. We stopped on at 7:30 on a Monday evening and the place was deserted. Nevertheless, the server (who I really hope isn't also the supervisor as her name tag suggested) took about 10 minutes to come see us, and then seemed annoyed and rushed despite the fact we were her only table. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo but specified I'd like it on a noodle other than fettuccine. After narrowing down what kind of noodle I wanted, I was disappointed to find that when the order came, it was made with fettuccine. This wouldn't have been so bad if the garlic bread hadn't been cold and if the noodles weren't drowned (literally oozing off the plate) in a rather tasteless Alfredo. Added to the problems was the fact that our drinks went unfilled most of the night and the server seemed distracted and inattentive (at one point loudly speaking on her cell phone in a corner of the restaurant) Overall, I love Robintinos but I think I'll stick to the bountiful location from now on.
(3)Leslie R.
Dark, and rather depressing decor. Pizza tasted like canned dough. I'm Italian and so the first time I ever go to a place claiming to offer Italian food is to order spag and meatballs, or at least try their spag and marinara or meat sauce. Always the test of a good Italian restaurant. Here, very bland marinara and the meat sauce tasted like it had been cooking for 2 days. In a day and age when you can get great Marinzano tomatoes, it would seem that tomato sauce generally should have a decent taste. This place needs to come into the 21st century. Will not be back.

Play by play: atmosphere: at first glance, dimly lit atmosphere, throwback style. Server was extra nice. Other patrons are a lot higher than say your average Dennys patrons (I love Dennys by the way). FOOD: Food was brought out in 3 to 4 minute intervals, which when you have four orders 12 -16 minutes after the first one was brought out is actually a long time. The mushrooms on the pizza were canned! I love to try new places, and now I can check this place off never to return. The waiter was really nice but unfortunately nothing else was. Listen to the ratings! If someone says this place and its pizza are terrific, then they have never eaten anywhere else...EVER.

We have gone to the SL Robintinos for years and loved it, never a negative issue. Unfortunately, it had to happen. We called in our "take out" order like always, they gave us our "time" which was 20 min. I got there at 25 min and waited with another customer for at least 15 minutes. Finally they handed me my order which I immediately knew was wrong. I had ordered 1 combo. He handed me 2 pepperoni! I looked at the other customer and told him I think these must be yours. They were not his either. After talking to others in the kitchen, they realized they had made the wrong pizza for my order and told me it would be another 20 minutes. I understand things like this can happen. I came back after 25 minutes and was told another 5 minutes. It was more like 15. Finally got the pizza and salad, with an added "sorry bout that ". After an hour and a half I made it home with a sloppy tasteless pizza and a wilted salad with a $30 price tag. I am totally aware people can have bad days and I am sympathetic to that, but at least try to make it up to me. Won't be back for a while. Can't give up on you yet

Only thing good about this place is the salad bar. The marinara sauce is too sweet and has a after taste like its going bad. Pizza is average nothing mind blowing. This place is dated, i could see it being cool in the early nineties. For the price, not worth it at all. Comparable is italian village but its cheaper. Thanks but no thanks.
(2)Bri E.
The owner of this restaurant is the Main Chef- very nice, works hard behind the scenes. His is rarely NOT working on a regular night. Chicken parmesan is wonderful, their marinara is very sweet and tasty. Their salad bar is always fresh, and this restaurants ranch dressing is TO DIE FOR. Pizza is no-nonsense- Crust, sauce, cheese, toppings. They don't spend time on making the restaurant look fancy, and they have regular waitresses who know customers by name who have worked there for years- well treated employees. Great for a big group, always attentive and helpful. On a rare occasion something comes to the table wrong, they fix it and remove it from the bill immediately. Good food, good family atmosphere.

Try both locations then decide and vote the food is really good the best fried shrimp in Utah it reminds me of Francesco I think they are related?
(5)R Y.
As always great service. The food is consistently good year after year.
(4)Tina I.
We come to Robintino's on a regular (once a month) basis. We mostly eat the cenetta, which includes an 8" pizza of your choice and one of various other items (salad bar, house salad, ravioli, lasagna, etc.) The decor is very 80s but it is a family owned restaurant and a nice setting for dinner w/friends and family.
(4)Cynthia M.
This is the worst dining experience I have had in a long time. Our waitress (Willow) was so bad. First she kept giving us recommendations even though we knew what we wanted to order. We asked for extra beets on our salads, when they arrived... No beets! I asked again for the beets and she said "yes, ma'am" beets NEVER came. When our entree orders finally came 2 of the 3 were wrong. She asked twice what kind of steak sauce we wanted and then came back to our table without it. We asked again for the steak sauce she said "yes, ma'am" and finally brought it when we asked a third time. We had to ask twice for drink refills We placed a take-out order at the same time and it was not put in so we had to wait an additional 15 minutes for our order. Stay away from this place at all costs!!!!!!
(1)Liz R.
You get what you pay for. This isn't pricey food and it is decent for the cost. We will go here for pizza or spaghetti not expecting a gourmet experience. The wait staff has always been adequate. The portions are generous.
(3)Bryan B.
Service is horrible compared to the Bountiful location. Will advise on the food. Sat out front, while they seated others ahead of us. When we finally got a table, we waited over 20 minutes for our to get taken. Drive to Bountiful, it will save you time.
