Ah, Fiddler's Elbow. The "better half" of Salt Lake Pizza and Pasta. A little too touristy for my taste, but with that awesome patio and being open til 10, I'll let it slide. We feasted on appetizers the last time we came and left incredibly stuffed. The pulled pork sliders are great and you get a whopping 6 of them in an order. I wasn't a fan of the sauce. I thought it was BBQ but it was more like A1. The pulled pork nachos are pure artery clogging bliss. Heaping portion and very tasty. The wings weren't half bad either, although the choice of flavors was extremely limited. We had the BBQ wings with the vinegar based sauce on the side. That makes them tastier. Drinks are on the pricier side, though they do feature specials on pitchers throughout the week. Maybe not for long, though.

Highlights, scores, winning drives, beers, liquors, and good food is everything you can expect to see at this stop. If you're like me and are just ADHD enough to love to watch at least 5 games at a time you'll love this place. With a massive local crowd for local games (obviously) expect to get here early or expect the early bird to get the worm.

I really liked the place. Great ambiance and love the big tvs. Great place to go watch the games. Love the couch in front of the big 80" TV. The only thing is the service was not that great and the good was average. I ordered the ohno which they had on special and it was overcooked plus the portion was not worth 18$. With that in mind it is a great place to just go grab a beer with the boys.

Pulled pork nachos to caliente for Amy! Ay ay ay! Perfecto por mi! Great community sponsor for our Association's meetings! The breakfasts had bursting flavors and a great cup of coffee!

I have enjoyed Fiddlers for years now. It's a good trendy sports bar to come too. Good beer selection on draft. I have always enjoyed the food. I would deftly say don't come here on Friday or Saturday night. If you have a time frame you need to keep. It gets very busy and packed. I do enjoy there Sunday brunch buffet. As far as buffets go they do it right. Omelet bar, fresh cook waffles and a great selection of potatoes and eggs. I will keep coming back here, but not for the environment. WARNING: DO NOT PARK IN THE WELLS FARGO PARKING LOT! YOU WILL BE TOWED FOR SURE.

Alright. I've been to Fiddler's a few times, mostly to watch basketball with friends over beers. I ate here a few weeks ago, and had the worst service ever. The menu itself is pretty random and generic, typical American pub food. I was with two friends, and we ordered a salad, a quesadilla, and a sandwich. It took an hour and a half to get our food. This was on a Tuesday night, and the restaurant was not busy. I work at a restaurant, and understand that service is an important factor in someone's experience. The server told us the kitchen "forget" our ticket (AKA she forget to ring it in), without apologizing. She finally brought out our mediocre food, and then took ages to get us our check. She took our water glasses too early, and barely checked us on the entire time we were there, which turned into about 2 and a half hours. I ain't expecting the Ritz Carlton at Fiddler's, but, really? I won't be going back.

We've been to Fiddler's twice, now -- once, two years ago, when we fell in love with Utah but were still living in Chicago; and last night. I'd say we had a decent enough experience both times. The first time we came, we had drinks with friends who were living here on one of the last days of our visit. I can remember a few things clearly: 1. They had High West Whisky (which is now more of a given, but I was head-over-heels with the stuff, having recently discovered it back in the Windy City) 2. The waitress was a real firecracker, and made the evening even more fun. 3. We had a blast with our friends. Fast-forward to last night... Feeling nostalgic, and me wanting to go out and have someone scan my newly received Utah driver's license, we headed over to 'the Elbow' for a little pub-n-grub action. Parking was a bit of a chore, partly because it was prime time on a Thursday night with Thursday Night Football (Seattle @ San Fran) and the NLDS (SanFran [ironic, no?] @ St. Louis) both attracting the barflies; partly because I turned one alley too soon, coming form the West, and had to circle around. We were still lucky to get the last remaining spot, and hurried into the pub. There was a bit of a wait, but we went over to the bar (after being carded -- success!) and grabbed a pint each while we waited. We didn't wait too long, not that we minded at the time, before we were seated. Every-other tv had one of the two aforementioned games on, so we positioned our seats so we could keep an eye on the games. It was loud, but not so much that you couldn't hear the person/people you're with, or yourself think. Our waiter was quick with the waters and checking on our drinks, which were fine at the time. We perused the menu. with which I wasn't terribly impressed. It didn't look bad, it just seemed fairly brief and random. There were a few things that looked really good, and we'll be back to try those -- mostly the enchilada dishes and a few of the sammies. Wanting to keep the cost down and not fee like pigs, we opted to each get a bow of the French Onion Soup (I got the soup & salad) and shared an order of calamari. The calamari was delicious. It was fried perfectly and well seasoned, topped with fresh parsley and finely shredded Asiago cheese. It was served with a fairly standard, but tasty, cocktail sauce. It also came with a lemon wedge, with which we never bothered. The salad was good; simple dinner salad with fresh greens and the Honey Mustard dressing (made in-house) was really, really good. We were almost expecting the kind of Honey Mustard sauce you get with chicken fingers, but this was pretty stellar. The soup was good, not great. The overall flavors were good, the onion was a little undercooked for my tastes, and the bread had a dense, cakey texture. Also, they apparently don't put the crocks under a broiler, as the cheese was well melted, but not golden brown on top or anything. Overall, it was not regrettable, but I probably won't get it again. Our waiter was nice, and attentive enough at first. He got busy or overwhelmed (staffing snafu, perhaps?) later in the evening and it took a while to get our check. We sipped water and finished the last dregs of our beers while we waited, and got out of there before the wait became obscene. Long story short: Fiddler's Elbow is a great place to grab a pint and watch the game with your friends. The food's really decent, but not top notch -- you shouldn't have a hard time getting something that'll compliment the great beer, wine and spirit selection. Pick and choose your days... naturally it'll be busier Friday - Sunday, so be prepared for that if that's when you want to go.

Poor service waited 15 min before being greeted, asked for Cajun fries and received regular fries which were crappy frozen mush fries, and server never checked in to see if we wanted more to drink until we were waiting to leave. My husband ordered the bumper ale and it was completely flat. Used to be a great place now has gone downhill it seems or just always bad on Sundays? Probably not coming back again. Should've gone to Boulevard Bistro their brunch last week was exceptional.

What a cool neighborhood bar and restaurant! We had a wild hair to go out at 10:30 on a Thursday night. We trudged in the rain down to Fiddler's Elbow in Sugar House down a small alley and were surprised to find it somewhat happening! The guy at the host stand had to scan our driver's licenses before we could sit down- not sure if that is specific to this bar or if it is a Utah thing, as we have not been to many bars here. Our out-of-state IDs did have not barcodes on the back, so it took him a little longer to write down all of our information. Felt bad about that. :o/ We siddled up to the bar and placed our order. Beer on tap for my boyfriend and a tomato juice vodka for me, which by the way, is not a Bloody Mary. While we waited for the attentive bartender to bring our libations, we checked out the rest of the restaurant. There is a large screen tv almost immediately when you walk in, surrounded by overstuffed leather couches- this looks like a perfect place to camp out on a Sunday afternoon. There were also a couple of pool tables toward the bar side of the place. Booths and tables filled out the resturant side of things. It wasn't a huge place, but seemed cozy and comfortable. Our drinks were fine and very decently priced. I think it was about $12 for 4 drinks. The guy we'd talked to in the beginning with the ID situation told us that they share a kitchen with Salt Lake Pizza and Pasta, so in addition to their own menu(which I found surprisingly extensive with plenty of vegetarian and even vegan options!), they could make anything from SLP&P's repitoire as well! He also said they are known just as much for their food as they are for being a bar, so that's good to know! Overall, cool vibe here. The bartender was at the other end of the bar, telling dirty jokes to some guys who looked like they'd just turned 21. There was a large party in one of the corner booths who were celebrating a birthday. There were a couple of guys playing darts and watching ESPN. We just sat the bar for an hour or so and didn't feel out of place. And I definitely see us coming back!

This seemed like a fun local bar but as I am from Ogden and alas not a local I think this will be my only visit as there are far better places to eat and drink in SLC. The bar is pretty big and if you're into football then you will probably like this place better than I. I went on a Sunday and it was football football and more football uhhh whatever... The service was fast and friendly the beer cold and reasonably priced but the food was just ehhh okay I guess. I had the veggie sandwich and my husband the French dip we both started with the French Onion Soup which was the most disappointing display of this normally most delicious soup that I have ever had ;( It was super oily and had a tomato base with a few sliced onions and very little cheese or bread.

A good sport's bar feel with acceptable food. The chili verde is quite good. Its location in the Sugarhouse area makes it a good location to meet people away from downtown and the environment makes this work.

I've been there once while we were waiting for our one-dollar movie. I liked the place with those big sofas by the door, it invites you to stay. Not to much to choose from their menu but enough for a fast and low priced dinner. I was really surprised when I had one of the best sandwiches I have ever tasted in SLC. I guess it was the combination of hungriness, presentation, cheap and healthy, but I enjoyed the place and I wouldn't mind to go back soon!!

Okay, this isn't some jerk with just a negative review. I taught at Judge and Juan Diego and have been part of this community for a long, long time. I wasn't going to post, but after the rest of the Democratic community came over after the SugarHouse Art Festival and complained about the same awful service, I have to protect the community (so to speak!) The service was awful. Now, two years ago before I left for San Francisco, the service was awful then, too. One our friends, a waitress and school teacher, noted time and again, the simple little things that the service was ignoring. So, two years later, after swearing to never go back again we did. We sat for at least twenty minutes before my wife went to the bar to order a beer for our table. The bartender ignored her, too, but finally we got service. I needed to get back to the event, so I asked for the tab when the beer came. The tab never came. So, one hour...one beer. In the past, the service was better and the food has always been fine. I get it, it's the only place in the area so maybe you can force the drinking population of SLC to just put up with lousy service. I almost forgot this: I was carded coming in and I am fine with that. I turn 55 in August and I am sure I look 20. The hard part was the woman in line when we left said "I'm 41," and the woman at the front just waved her in. But, in full candor, I can't recommend FE anymore and, after listening to about a dozen people tonight, I can't recommend it either. So, if you have any issues with my review, let me know. If the manager wishes to talk to me, just post a heads up here, but honestly I doubt it.

I have been going to Fiddlers for years and have always been a huge fan of their Sunday brunch. Well, I haven't been in a while and went this Sunday.... it was terrible. Brunch goes til 2, we got there at 1pm so there was still a good hour left for the brunch. The food was totally picked over, everything had been sitting out on the patio and tasted like day old food. I requested an omelet that some girl brought to my table by throwing it down without asking if I needed salsa/ketchup which most people would like with their eggs. The potatoes were icky, salad was totally wilted and gross and the dressing was sitting there with a dry film over them because they were sitting out unattended to for however long. My favorite part of the brunch was the smoked salmon which is always amazing and they have the best ranch dressing in town. Still, not worth the $13. AND my water glass reaked of old, dirty rag!

I was looking for a place to watch our beloved Bulls in the playoffs on my own. When I walked in, they were on the giant projection screen in the front of the restaurant, with 3 couches in fron of it. I was ok with that show of respect. I had a buffalo chicken sandwich with a salad. The sauce was nice and spicy and the side salad was actually decent, no iceberg lettuce here. Plus it was $3 drafts because it was Monday (score! I wish our Bulls did more of that in the game tho...) I will definitely add to my solo list, as it seemed most of the regulars at the bar came there with exactly same scenario as me. Except for the guy bad mouthing the Bulls - the nerve!

I don't drink, but a friend recommended Fiddler's Elbow, a pub-like restaurant hidden in Sugar House, for our lunch. It's down a narrow drive in off of 2100 South. After parking in the back, I was soon sitting in a booth talking about politics, the media, and sandwiches. The atmosphere is set by a shadows, high ceiling rafters, and exposed wood everywhere. Large flat screens are strategically situated all over the room and set to about every sports channel modern cable can offer. It looked like there was an outdoor seating area, too, which, if it was warmer and drier, might make a good place for a group gathering. I ordered a Buffalo Chicken sandwich, which was just spicy enough to remind me of spicy wings (because the sauce, apparently, is the same sauce), but not too spicy to make me break out in a sweat. It was good, the meat tender but cooked; however, it was nothing spectacular. The Boston cream chowder it came with was also tasty, and, if I had my druthers, would have come in a bigger bowl. Our server was quick and gracious, and very carefully repeated back my requests to make sure he got them right. He kept our glasses full, and I was glad to leave him the tip on our way out. If you haven't been to Fiddler's Elbow before, I recommend it for lunch, at least. I believe they also have a breakfast menu, too. Check out their menu before you go, here. While I was not overly impressed with the food, I did like the location, the quiet, and the atmosphere. The service was good, and because of its proximity to my office, it makes for a good alternative to the usual haunts in the area. Last, the prices were reasonable, if on the upper end of inexpensive. (By the way, check out Urban Spoon for more reviews on local restaurants, because Urbanspoon rocks!)

As good a sports bar as I can imagine in SLC. (no offense) The food was very good. I was particularly surprised by their chile verde, which was one of the better places I've ever had it. The servers were nice and remembered my name after the first time. If only the beer could have been real beer. But, alas, four stars is nothing to be ashamed of.

A friend visiting from New York actually brought me to this place. Honest, the food is good. It's next to another restaurant that cooks all the food for this place, so your getting stuff thats better than the fried food at sports bars you'd normally get. I got there right when a Jazz game ended so it was emptying out. Which is fine because the Jazz suck anyway, go Knicks. So if you can get one piece of good advice from me about this place it would be "Go Knicks!" Inside is open and clean. No complaints at all. "So, why the 4 stars" you may ask, and my reply would be, "No, you may not ask."

I love Fiddler's Elbow, I love everything about them. The food is really good. I'm always especially excited when the chicken fajitas are on special or the sour cream and green onion is the mash of the day. They also have a reasonable local beer selection on tap and in bottles, with a constantly rotating special bottle from one of the local breweries. And my favorite thing about Fiddler's? Their "seasonal" menu hasn't changed in at least two years. And I'm serious about loving this, some of my favorite food items are on this menu and I'd be lost without them.

Why are we compelled to tip to be treated as a given??? Just to be fair, I've been here twice and my other experience was much better. But this, kinda rediculous... Be prepared to have to beg for service on a Friday and expect attitude in return. I had to ask repetitively for beer, question like a detective to get recommendations, get their attention for food, and even raise my hand. Tonight was NBA Finals and the 6 TVs behind the bar were, no joke, 2 golf channels, 2 Hooters channels, hockey, and something else... When I asked for an NBA game on one of the TV channels I got, "That game??" "Yes." "That game right behind you???" "Yes." Sorry, I don't want to have to do an about face or turn my head to watch with so many TVs... And when I said something to the other patrons who were also in disbelief, one of the bartenders said, sarcasticly, "It's not like we've been busy or anything." Not my problem. My wings were tossed at me and then I got someone else's bill (after I had to ask for the bill). Bad.

This is a good place to grab a beer, grub down, and watch the game. Their specials are always a good deal and you can't go wrong. The food is always consistant and I've never had something that I was disappointed with. Make sure that you are over 21 because you will get your id checked before you get seated.

Sunday brunch: Service is terrible and the food is mediocre... once you finally get it. Sunday brunch at Fiddler's Elbow is definitely going to be a "pass" from now on. Upon arriving, the host was talking negatively about the person we were meeting there who was debating whether or not to sit in the patio. When we were finally seated we sat ungreeted for at least 15 minutes. When our server made it over he took our drink order (water and coffee) and disappeared for another 10 minutes. More or less we spent the majority of our meal waiting, not eating. My meal came out 20 minutes after the other two in my party. They were more or less done by the time my Monte Cristo came out. We waited some more for the cranberry sauce I asked for and then again for the check. Fiddler's Elbow definitely needs to up the staffing for a Sunday. I won't be going back any time soon.

These Cincinnati conference goer/ tourists loved Fiddler's Elbow. Great food -thanks, Robin for recommending the steak salad. SW Turkey sandwich rocked. Wide selection of beer is worth the drive. Ask for Robin by name for great service

** Sunday Brunch ** Feeling hungry on sundays? The brunch here is amazing! Its all you can eat so I went back and forth for numerous plates until I felt I got my moneys worth. They had everything from bacon, sausage, eggs Benedict, mini waffles, mini french toast, potatoes, fruit, omlette station and meat station. The breakfast drinks were also very inexpensive, delicious, and popular amongst the guests. This is a great place to go to hang out for a while, watch sports on the various flat screens or projection screen and eat whatever you may be in the mood for.

My wife and I went here for a Friday night out and found it to be quite disappointing. The service was slow even considering it was a pretty busty night. She got a single soft drink refill. I ended up finishing my beer while waiting to get our food and said I'd take another when or food came, but nothing came if it, and I decided I didn't care enough to pursue it. I really just wanted to pay and leave. We both eventually ran out of water, too. My garlic burger was among the lamest burgers I've ever had. It had no sauce or cheese. It was just a patty (the garlic flavor is delicious) with an onion and a piece of lettuce (I requested no tomato). My wife's chicken was not very good, I don't think she even finished it. There were also unexpected jalapenos in the potatoes, which isn't great for someone like her who doesn't appreciate spicey things. Over all I found the whole experience disappointing and, as a result, drastically overpriced.

Popped in to Fiddler's elbow for some lunch while visiting the SLC. They have a wide selection of draft beers and some good specials, which is why I am awarding 3 stars. Food-wise, I wasn't that impressed with their wares. Not a bad place to hang out, throw back some beers and munch on some appetizers, but for lunch or dinner, I'll probably go elsewhere.

I really want to like this place. It's a great space located in a central area, and parking is a breeze. It's a sports bar but it's not crazy loud; you can easily ignore the multiple giant TVs and talk with your friends if you want. The owner is super cool too. But on the flip...they don't have much of a beer selection -- mostly local 3.2 kiddie beer, and every time I order the food I am underwhelmed. Last time I got a partially heated verde burrito, served with a side of rude waiter. I didn't whine, just asked them to nuke it for me, and the waiter acts put out, then basically dumps the plate in front of me the way you might shovel slop to a pig at the trough. That was awesome. The time before that I got a waitress who was about as warm and cuddly as your average puff adder. You know, you don't have to chat it up but some basic civility would go a long way. Seems like they basically hire college kids who feel like the gig is beneath them. To be fair, the hostesses are great. And Fiddler's itself could be great. But as it stands now, I've elbowed my last fiddle.

Ok I thought that with a name called Fiddler's Elbow, that we would be served irish pub food. Well the menu is mostly good american home cooked food. Our waiter was very honest and almost too honest on what food was suitable a what was disgusting. So I had the homemade meatloaf which was good. Their smashed potatoes were good. All in all it was ok. If you are a University of Utah fan it would be a fun place to watch games, but besides that there is no real reason to go!

Shares the back of the Salt Lake Pizza and Pasta Company, with basically the same menu offerings. This is a great place to go and watch a local sports game, but if you are doing that make sure you get there very early! Especially the U football games, it gets absolutely packed. However it is so fun to be with everyone cheering for the same team! The staff can get a little busy and not get around as much as they should, but that's to be expected at busy times. Beer selection is nice and the food is just as good as SLPP.

The perfect Sports Bar, imho. Banks of TV's to watch, with every conceivable sport showing. In two visits, the bartenders were more than willing to find NHL hockey and put in on the TV's in front of me, without blowing me off or copping an attitude. Plus one star for that alone! Great selection of draft beers, with many local. Food was good, prime rib one night, the garlic burger with soup the other. They don't overwhelm you with the portions, but it's enough that you don't feel cheated. Friendly staff. A little frazzled on Friday when the place was packed, but everyone seemed to be in good spirits. Friday evening it was a zoo, Sunday was mellow. Both enjoyable in their own way. Overall a pretty laid -back place where you can eat, drink, shoot some pool, watch TV or chat with a drunk. And ya, it's private club now. Of which I am now a proud new member, for the next three weeks anyway, lol.

I decided to give this place a few tries before writing a review. Overall, I would say their food is just decent. The first time I ate here was for Sunday brunch. I got the breakfast buffet. While all buffets are over-priced for me, since I don't eat enough to make it worth it, this one just seemed over-priced for the quality of food you were getting. Definitely a lot of choices, but just decent/ok food. On another occasion, I tried their "world famous" garlic burger. Again, good not great and it definitely cannot compare to the garlic burger at Cottonbottom. Most recently, I went there for dinner and ordered the steak salad. Again, it was decent, but can't hold a candle to the steak salad at Red Rock. Overall, the food is alright and I've never had an issue with the service. I could see why people like to come here to watch sporting events and I see why locals like it, but it's not worth going out of my way to eat here.

I love this place to watch basketball games and drink a good beer. They have great bar food and friendly people. No kids allowed in this place - very adult friedly. When good games are on, this place is packed, so plan ahead if you have a problem waiting a while before getting seated.

Fiddler's is a fun spot. Great place to go for beer, appetizers, and to watch sports (so I gather, I'm not a sports girl). I've never been blown away by their entrees, and I've had really great service as well as really shitty service... guess it just depends on your server. It's never my first choice for dinner, but I don't avoid going there either...

My favorite place in Salt Lake City for now being new to the area. SF native feels much more at home in Sugarhouse at Fiddler's than most anywhere else so far. Good food, good atmosphere. I like to just have a cocktail and hang out and read the paper on Sunday afternoon, then head over to Whole Foods for some shopping..

I have to agree with MJ E. They have a superb brunch. I moved out of Salt Lake almost 4 years ago and visit twice or so a year. This is a must stop while I'm there. I did hear this place went to "private club." Is that right? Also, not being a huge sports fan, this place is crazy on football days.

Cute bar-like area at the back of SLC pizza, which is basically the same place. Great selection of Utah craft beers and good food, including garlic potatoes and memorable pizza. Prices are reasonable too, and I wish they were open later.

Went there last night with a bunch of friends since the bayou was too packed. Me and my friend got the garlic burger and our breath still smells like garlic... it was pretty good for bar food and the staff was really friendly. The artichoke dip is super creamy... tastes like cream cheese so if you're not a big fan of super creamy food then beware... plus there are $.75 pool tables.

Large, lively Sports bar in the Sugarhood is one of the best places in SLC to watch the big games. Good food overall, with very good sandwiches. Good service from friendly servers. Highly recommended to out-of-towners who want to watch their fave teams in the company of other out-of-towners.

The food is pretty good but the service has been terrible every time I've been there, which actually quite often for business lunches, etc. The servers are always attitudey and unfriendly. Every time when we're leaving we're confused on why we come back. Until today, a colleague and I went, had a hassle getting seated, then after we finally got seated we decided to leave. Best decision ever!

I know this is going to sound a little "pitchy" but bear with me... This little pub serves the best brunch! It's a buffet and everything is absolutely delicious. From the waffles that they make right before your eyes, to the omelet bar, fresh fruit and perfectly cooked bacon. They also made a really good cappuccino. Everyone in our group was completely satisfied. The servers were cool. I like the laid back feel. They also have some really good beers - considering they are only 3.2! This is a great place to hang out. I haven't tried their lunch or dinner menu but I will go back the next time I'm in town.

Cool place but not for the food. It has a great feeling and I like that you can shoot pool or watch a game. The food is ok and I like the Pizza & Past Place next door better-even though they share the same Kitchen. The apps are great but you can find this type of food anywhere.

Such a disappointment. Food is bland and unimaginative. It's too bad because this place has a lot going for it and could be really good. I live within walking distance and never go there. That is saying something since I love to drink beer and watch sports.

Great pulled pork nachos (So yummy we had to order a 2nd plate after rapidly scarfing the 1st)- quesodillas- and "Smashed" potatoes. I tried 3 appetizers at Fiddler's Elbow and found each to be extremely yummy. Some of the best bar food I have had in a while! The place seems a bit open with very few booths and some uncomfortable looking tables. I was seated in a booth and was inevitably quite happy. Several TV screens make the place a decent spot to watch a game and the pool tables seemed to be receiving good use for a Sunday afternoon. Our waiter was attentive and very pleasant. I will be returning soon.

A local brought me here to try the food and sit outside to enjoy the day and excellent conversation Our server seemed a bit Scattered and keep diverting to bring a straw as requested for my fellow dining guest The nacho's smelled wonderful and looked amazing but we skipped an appetizer and just jumped right into the main entrees. She ordered the black bean bean burger and the only negative comment was the thickness of the focaccia bread this entree was served on. She said it is one of her favorite items to order when here I orders the Verde (green tomatillo based spicy sauce) Enchiladas with rice and black beans. The rice and beans were a hit to me and I could roll them up in a tortilla and chow down on just them. The heat of the Verde sauce was perfect and the pork was slow braised and delicious. I would order this as well again On rap beer selection was pretty good with an extensive bottled beer list as well. Nice wine selection to fit most palettes as well are offered.

Been here a couple of times and always leave vowing not to return. Last night the server was either incompetent or just plain scandalous. I got the feeling he purposely short changed me. However the food is good and the decor is appealing. Lots big TVs with many viewing selections.

Came here to watch a RSL game, hang with friends, and have dinner. There's really no sign on the main road, so it's a bit hard to find, parking around the back. The staff was nice and friendly, they turned on the heaters for us since we were sitting outside. They were however ridiculously slow, it took ten minutes to get refills on soda, and they kept forgetting to bring silverware and other things. I had thier "fresh baked" pizza. It was ten bucks for a tiny pizza, that tasted like those personal pizzas from pizzahut that have been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour. I drowned it in ranch, and choked it down. It was an okay place to hang out and watch sports, but I definitely wouldn't eat there again.

Great place to watch the games! This place usually comes to mind when I want to watch any game and have some bar good and beer as well. The reason why it is three stars is because although it is awesome for games (if it's a big game like a utah game, it may almost be impossible to get a seat unless you come early) the food is only meh. The beer selection is great. They have a few beers from all the local brands as well as some great bottled beer options. Their food on the other hand is nothing special. I have been here many times and I have yet to find something really delicious. Their cobblers are, I have to say, the best dish they offer in my opinion. If all else fails, go for the cobbler (the fruit in the cobbler changes daily so ask your server what type of cobbler they have). If you are in sugarhouse and want to watch the games, this place has lots of tvs and are always showing the big games of the night.

The beer here is great but the food is mediocre. I ordered the black bean burger and it was a thin patty with no interesting or unique toppings. I wouldn't go again.

Probably the best spot in town to watch sports on T.V. if that's what you are into! (I am!) There are televisions all over the place...and a HUGE projection T.V. with a few comfy couches and chairs around it. Not too many sports bars can say that! Drink prices are not bad, and although I didn't eat, I saw a lot of plates of food coming out of the kitchen and it all looked yummy. Seems to be a popular place for lunch. I went to watch a World Cup futbol game at around noon and the place was packed on a weekday. Big parking lot, but it seems to be pretty full. There must be other people who sneak in to park. There are a lot of great choices in SLC for watching sports on T.V. and having a few drinks... I don't always go to Fiddler's Elbow...but it's certainly "in the mix" !!

You want beer, pub food, your own table and to watch whatever sporting event you like? Yeah this is your place. Enough room for a big party or just a few friends. If there is a big game on and you want to make sure you get a table get there a little be before the game starts. This place can fill up fast.

Service was decent, just seemed like a weird mix of a sports bar and Applebee's. The only thing that makes this 3 stars instead of two was the very friendly and good service

The Tri Tip Sandwich with fries was good! I wish the music would bump a little louder... Maybe this isn't the case on weekdays, but I was happy I paired my sandwich with Strongbow. This is kinda weird, but being so empty on a Wednesday afternoon, I was surprised how stuffy it felt inside. Might be the AC, I don't know, but yeah! I'd come over again. :-)

This used to be one of my favorite places to hang out especially on a Sunday during the NFL games. I would meet several friends here and we would hang out for hours enjoy the brunch which was pretty darn good at the time. However the price of the brunch has far exceeded what I think you really get the quality is not that great for the $15 range. There are a couple of really good people that work there Joe in particular is a great guy he is a great waiter and we always enjoy having him come by. Their key lime pie does not taste at all like key lime pie and we did have an issue with one of the servers there who swore up and down it was and when we spoke with the chef the chef actually admitted that he had forgotten to put the lime in there. Even the chef admitted it didn't taste at all like key lime pie however the server argued up and down and that was a very big dissatisfier. One of the best items on the menu I think is their burger. I like the fact that it is hormone free antibiotic free and I believe if I'm not mistaken it is grass fed as well. Very very tasty. The fries are good, the beer is really good as well. I also like the atmosphere in here I just very very welcoming and a fun place to come. But I can only give it 2 stars due to price and I think the Sunday brunch has declined some.

After growing up in SLC, then living in LA for some years, this is has become our favorite place to lounge for a few pints/pitchers. If only more Utahns understood the value of patio seating for quality beer drinking! U students and other Utahns may grow accustomed to the sad selection of beers available in most Utah bars (a couple Uintahs + PBR and Coors). Luckily Fiddler's Elbow has a few more options available (Moab, Squatters, Red Rock, ...although more, more, more options will always be needed). Food is bar food, nothing too amazing, and not much variety for us vegetarians. Great service, though, and plenty of big TVs for sports-like entertainment.

The prices are reasonable, the food good and the atmosphere pleasant.....especially if you're looking to get away from the kids. The chile verde is excellent and cheap! I'll see you in there!

While traveling we met a buddy here, once I arrived I checked in on Yelp and was rather nervous about the overall rating. I was definitely relieved by our great experience. The beer list is small but has excellent choices, many of which are local breweries. I had the two IPA's that were on the menu, Uinta "Trader Session IPA" and the Red Rock "IPA Junior". I wish the IPA offering was larger (maybe it just isn't a "thing" in SLC). I'd suggest Pikes Peak Brewing's "Elephant Rock IPA"! The food was good pub food. Everyone was happy with their burgers, sandwiches and fish tacos. Only two people ordered dessert (cheese cake and key lime pie), and they said it was ok. The service was quick, polite, and didn't mind our jokes. They even threw some sass right back at us. Would I come here again? You bet.

I have been here several times....I'm surprised I haven't reviewed them yet. This place had to grow on me, and it has! The food here isn't bad. I've had everything from the burgers, calamari, wings, pizza, nachos and so on. I haven't been disappointed by the food, however it's not anything to write home to your mother about. On Sunday they offer a "Buffet Style" brunch instead of a menu. I'm not fond of the buffet style, but was kinda forced to give it a try the first Sunday we came since they do not serve anything off the menu until 12pm. :( The brunch buffet is blah. Lacking in a few areas. They serve it outside, they only have a couple of selections and the meat was cold. French toast cold and soggy and the made to order omelette's are small. However there are some major bonuses for me and why I keep coming back (after brunch of course) 1.) They have $3 mimosas!! 2.) They play EVERY NFL game on Sunday's! So you can watch your team play every Sunday! Plus they have an open layout which makes it super easy to watch several games at once! HUGE BONUS! 3.) They also have good pie. These three things alone are enough for me to keep coming back during football season several times!

This is our neighborhood bar and never disappoints. We went on a recent rainy night and were welcomed into the warm space with a nice sports bar vibe. I ordered the special Blackened Steak Salad. It was delicious and a generous serving. My husband ordered the pulled pork sandwich. I think their pulled pork is the best in town. Not too saucy, not too sweet. Prices are reasonable for an anytime meal. Love that the place is 21+.

I went very early to see a World Cup match and I was happy to see that I was one of the first people there. However, the waitress wouldn't seat me at any tables close to a tv. She said all the tables had been reserved. Lame! I won't go back for any televised events.

I once loved this place. Now, it's a damn shame to see what it has become. With absolutely terrible service, it's not worth your time. The severs have the highest turnover. And the ones that stay are the worst. Fiddlers is dead to me. It's over. Goodbye, chili verde nachos. It was nice while it lasted, but it's just not worth feel ignored for two hours while you're supposed to be being served.

Fantastic as always. I come here at least once a month and the service and food never fail to meet my expectations. Great beer selection, fabulous pasta selection, and the rest of the menu is way above par when it comes to "bar" food. My only complaint is it too cold. May be nice in the summer, but it is not 100 degree yet.

I like this place a lot, go there with friends for beer & nachos. My favorite- chocolate stout. Diligent but not pushy service, booths & tables, relaxed but social atmosphere... this place is a Sugarhouse fixture. I am glad they don;t have 'performances' like so many other places, and you are left alone to talk with friends or watch sports.

You know the service here has been lacking lately. Last night Britney a bar tender was getting off shift and counting tips at the bar, complaining about everything using the foulest language, and complaining about tips etc, this was a classless act in front of customers. I know it is a bar and I am no prude but this was lame. Also there wifi is sporadic and sucks

We love this place. Awesome beers on tap and friendly staff. We frequent this place often and always get the special, no matter what it is. Greatest place in Sugarhouse to watch sports and relax. Only downfall is some t.v.'s needed to be replaced and for some odd reason the hostess always tries to seat us in the far back corner booths. We request a table and then watch the poor saps that get seated in those dark corner booths, laugh and order another beer.

I love the food here. The steak sammich is fantastic. that being said I have had several issues with service. One of the last times I went in the last 6 months the server just disappeared. Gone. Couldn't be found. We asked another server to finish our ticket. He couldn't do it because "the system won't allow it". They went to get the manager. That took 15 minutes. I had to finally get up and go find the manager. No apology. On my way out the hostesses asked how my dinner was. I told them the 30 minute wait to get my bill settled was totally unacceptable. They said "well its busy tonight". Again no apology. Like I said the food is good and as long as you don't end up with a subpar server they do a good job. *update* I had another really poor experience. Went in to watch a jazz game and have some dinner. They have like 30 TVs so even though at this time it was college basketball time I figured we could get one TV for our local pro team. The server helped us out and changed it. Then about 20 minutes later the manager came and changed that TV to a college game that was playing on 3 others and the game was a blow out. I asked her to change it back. She refused. So told me that they couldnt do it for just two people. Even though that game was playing on 3 other TVs and was a total blow out of a game. When I was leaving I let her know she lost a customer and I was going to spread the word of her poor management. If I owned this business I would make a change. Until then I won't be back.

We've been here for Sunday brunch and Friday night dinner. Brunch was yummy, though the place was pretty quiet (I like a little more life). They had a decent selection of vegetarian fare for me to choose from. Service was pretty prompt, but, like I said, there weren't many others there when we arrived. Dinner was OK. I didn't love the seafood enchiladas. Tasted like frozen and defrosted seafood. I know this is a land locked state...but make me forget that, dang it! The big downer was that we were told we'd wait about half an hour. Fine. We waited over an hour to be seated. It was ridiculous. We got to that point where we'd waited too long already so leaving would seem to be such a waste. Then they seated us at a table for six? Confused... We didn't have a lot of attention from our server, but it was enough. We finished and didn't waste time leaving. We didn't get to the movie we had hoped :( Brunch and dinner were both pretty good prices, granted we had a handy dandy KUER member discount (both times!). So, prices are fair. Service is decent. The wait might kill you, tho. Probably won't be back. I'm not a lover of "American" fare.

Not so impressed by this restaurant even though there are lots of TVs to watch football games not normally available on my home TV. However, I ate their vegetarian nachos and was kind of grossed out by it. Same nachos I probably could have gotten at a chain restaurant like Chili's or TGI Friday's. Nothing special or tasty. My husband had the fish and chips and he liked them. Small portion but quite tasty. Beer selection is good. Hostess at the door was very attentive (even though the wait on a Sunday afternoon was ~45 minutes). Bartender was hard to get help from and we sat at the bar. All in all, I probably won't go back anytime soon to watch a game and would not come here just for the food. Also, beware that since Fiddler's Elbow is considered a "bar," you cannot bring kids under 21 into the restaurant. Gotta go to SLC pizza and pasta instead.

Three stars for atmosphere and bar/beer selection. Food rates a bit above mediocre. All in all, a fun spot for groups to grab some comfort bar food and drinks. If the staff weren't so laxidazi, and the food received a bit more love, I'd probably boost them a fourth star.

I don't like crowds or sports bars but on a weekday I can get a decent meal here for a fair price. They can be a bit inconsistent with the food (and skip the nachos) but I like the French onion soup and the Philly Cheese steak sandwich along with some of the other things I've tried. Staff is pretty unprofessional (talking about other customers in front of you) and the bartenders can be kind of surly at times but it depends on who is working. Please stop carding me though at the hostess stand though. I'm obviously nowhere even close to 21 and no it's not flattering. It's just a pain in the ass. I'm forty fucking three.

I sort of liked this place better before the liquor rule changeover, when it didn't have hard liquor and was a lot more casual. It would definitely get busy at times, but it wasn't out of hand to the point of having to consider it pretty much a last alternative. I've spent absurd amount of time in there - for every Sunday for quite a while, I'd stack myself up to the bar and look through the games, savoring the delicious drafts on tap, Guinness for breakfast, followed by local brews once they went on sale at around 1:00 PM. If I made it early enough, I'd hit up their brunch, if not, I'd plug through bar food until I was done. All of the food was right around average, occasionally rising to above average, but not much further. I wasn't going for the food, of course. Having as many brews on taps as they did and being in such convenient proximity was a good match for me and I'd frequently wind up there for meetings or just hang-outs with friends, as I always knew there would be something I'd want to have...mainly those delectable brews. I could put food to the side for the sake of that long line of wonderful taps, but that was a different time. Now...I dunno. The place has always had kind of odd seating and it can get pretty cramped pretty quickly. That didn't always matter to me, but now it seems like more of a fight than it's worth, considering they have not really bothered to upgrade their menu. I've eaten through it a couple times and everything is hit and miss. There is no consistent standbys, other than the beer. It does have a lot of tvs and given that most people are there to watch one game or another (don't bother when the Utes are playing), it can get very loud, very quickly. As I mentioned, this used to be a very regular haunt for me, but as it is now, I haven't been for a while and despite living somewhat closer than I did before, don't really see myself going there again. There are sports bars with better food and if I want a lot of beers readily available with outstanding food, I'll make the drive to Bayou.

Went here during the USA v GER soccer match when there was standing room only. Despite having to lean over layers of people to get to the bar, the staff was eager to serve and everyone made sure the crowd was happy. The garlic burger was fantastic and the beer selection is great. Also there are huge TVs and projection screens if there's a game on.

This place used to be a great place until they switched management. Now they have some ditsy chick Ashlee runnin it. Not sure why the owner changed it up but it's a totally different place without that older blonde lady running it. Wa wa wa

This is a perfect bar that's not a bar. It's a restaurant, but with a bar atmosphere that makes it very comfortable. 21 and older crowd makes it perfect. Service is generally very slow for food but drinks seem to show up ASAP. Food is decent, definitely not a gastro pub but there is something for everyone. I would recommend their buffalo wings and chicken salad sandwich.

Hmmm... 4 stars from me, but only 2 stars from my beautiful wife! So, I'll split the difference. This review is based solely on dinner. Not the sports bar aspect. We both agree that the service was Awesome. I thought they had Great tunes. Lots of tv's and sports, which is always cool with me. The Chile Verde was among the best I've had. The Halibut n chips were good, but not great. A little toooo greasey. The black bean salad was really yummy. We got the signature smashed potatoes and were completely underwhelmed. We mentioned that to our server and he removed them from our bill. We also both agree the place has a funky smell. Not sure what's up with that.

I've found myself at Fiddler's Elbow a few times over the past several years. It's never my idea, because I always seem to forget about the place. It's in a good location in the heart of Sugarhouse, with plenty of parking behind it. The menu is large and varied, and the food has always been solid, but never spectacular. They have a good selection of wines by the glass that are always fairly priced. I've never been particularly impressed with the service, though. It seems like they have a lot of servers for the amount of tables that have people in them, but yet the service is always slow and the servers seem uninterested at best. So I expect my relationship with Fiddler's Elbow will continue to be as it has been in the past: I'll go if invited, but I won't seek the place out. Not because it's bad, but because there's better places doing the same thing closer to where I live.

Tried to eat here tonight and were seated but waited for 15 minutes until no server came so we picked up and went to there connecting salt lake pizza since it seems less busy but bad choice too. It's really cool to see the servers argue over not wanting to take a table even an hour before closing, awesome!

Chill atmosphere, good service, good food. Our waiter was very attentive & helpful in making suggestions on the menu. I had the french dip with fries. The meat was a little dry but still very tasty. My boyfriend had the veggie sandwich with a side of chili, which he said both were very good. I tasted the chili & it had great flavor with a nice kick to it. We would definitely eat here again.

Food was terrible. Service was terrible. Probably the worst French Dip I've ever ate and my buddies buffalo chicken was dry and tasteless. Will never be back.

Good food and nice selection of beer...but for a sports bar their TV's are sub par with fairly horible picture quality. The projector TV might be from 1980.Time to go down the street to Best Buy and invest in some new equipment.

Solid establishment for beer, bar food, sports and/or shooting pool. Definitely not super classy, but sometimes that exactly what you are looking for. I thoroughly enjoyed my gigantic plate of nachos and polished them off all by myself, thank you very much. Definitely would be back to watch a game or to escape a cold snowy day.

I like going to Fiddler's. We go once very few months. The parking is a little confusing if you are driving on 21st south. You have to go down the alleyway to the back of the building. There's a sign, but you can easily drive past it. Anyways, it can get pretty busy there, especially during college football season. We've gotten slow service and sometimes we get prompt service. There's plenty of TVs to watch various sporting events. The food is pretty good. At my most recent visit, I had the fish tacos. Yummmy! I'm not huge on anything with fish, but if it is made with halibut, I might go for it. These fish tacos had halibut. Yum. They also have halibut and chips, which is good too. The beer selection is pretty decent. They have various local and domestic beers. They have some of the stronger beers in bottles. The Epic Brewing stuff is pretty good, I had the Spiral Jetty IPA. I recommend this place if you want a 21+ establishment that serves food and want to watch a game.

Drunk, obnoxious patrons provoke fight! We met another couple for lunch on a Sunday, we arrived a little early about 12:30 and I expected them to be somewhat busy. We were told a 35 minute wait. Now, understand they have the big screen TV installed at the front end of the place, with big overstuffed sofas and people waiting to be seated. The bar was busy (I've waited at the bar area before-it is the main pathway from the kitchen-retarded). The hostess had zero control of the front end-we had waited about 30 minutes yet there were 2 booths and quite a few tables that sat empty. Hostess said the servers bus their own tables and can't keep up. WHAT? With the NFL on TV and a 35 minutes wait they leave tables empty? At 30 minutes we still had 4 parties ahead of us. The point of this explanation is the FIGHT we nearly got into. 4 people were sprawled into the couch and love seat, no one else could sit. At 35 minutes we were approached by a tipsy patron who wanted us to sit down so he could see the TV! I told him to speak to the hostess and where else could we go? ANOTHER outright drunk patron made every effort to pick an actual fight and others at the front tables made stupid drunk remarks and were joining in. No one (hostess, bartender, etc) had any clue this was a confrontation until it was way out of hand. When she finally figured it out and decided to seat us, the hostess said she didn't think the drunk man was serious and he is a REGULAR. Several of them should have been denied alcohol but yet they drank on. The entire time we waited no waitress even asked us if we wanted drinks yet keep serving the drunks and the ones laying on the couch. OK so the regulars are entitled to pick a fight because the place is busy?? They established the waiting area the same place they hang the big screen?? If Fiddler's wants a bunch drunk regulars who act like punks (I patronize there ALOT) then they can keep it. I understand FIddler's has new owners. They had better get control of their staff and mouthy, drunk regulars or they will run off all those who actually spend money and want a decent meal and a few drinks. We'll drop $100 on lunch for 2 and some drinks yet they let a single kid take up a booth with an untouched soda and no food for over an hour-watching TV. If I want a bar brawl there are plenty of other places I can go expecting that. I don't go to Fiddler's Elbow to get drunk, rowdy and lip off. Historically their food has been good-not orgasmically great but pretty good.

(4)Hyunu K.

(3)Elizzy B.
Decent place for a quick bite. Good drinks and fast service.
(3)Ulla S.
Really chill. Good place to have a beer, watch sports and talk....yes you can actually hear yourself talk. ;)
(4)Joe H.
(4)Frank M.
(4)N M.

Bad.
(1)Maggie P.
This is a good place to grab a beer, grub down, and watch the game. Their specials are always a good deal and you can't go wrong. The food is always consistant and I've never had something that I was disappointed with. Make sure that you are over 21 because you will get your id checked before you get seated.
(3)Parker T.
(1)Christine P.
These Cincinnati conference goer/ tourists loved Fiddler's Elbow. Great food -thanks, Robin for recommending the steak salad. SW Turkey sandwich rocked. Wide selection of beer is worth the drive. Ask for Robin by name for great service
(4)Laryssa S.
(4)Travis R.
(2)Wes N.
(3)John P.
(2)Val W.
The black and blue steak salad is just fabulous. Great waiters. Great beer.
(4)Eric M D.
(3)Greg D.
(4)Tahoe Bill M.
(5)Dennis J.
Great place for hanging out after work for drinks and/or dinner or to watch a game. Sunday brunch is CHEAP and surprisingly good for the price.
(4)James M.
Local pub, great beer selection, 100% sports on tv, food is ok (ask for the sl pizza pasta menu). Overall fantastic as a local, not sure if I'd travel just to visit.
(4)Liz C.
(3)Krista R.
Food is tasty and the service is okay. I'm sure if you are a bar goer or a sports fan you'll like it more than me!
(3)Mariah C.
I love this place to watch basketball games and drink a good beer. They have great bar food and friendly people. No kids allowed in this place - very adult friedly. When good games are on, this place is packed, so plan ahead if you have a problem waiting a while before getting seated.
(4)Kelly J.
As usual food was great. Service..........eh. Try the new southwest turkey sandwich!! Definitely not healthy but very yummy. Soup of the day is always great as well.
(4)E.M. B.
(3)Denis L.
Great food and atmosphere for a sports bar. Good service too. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a nice place to catch the game.
(4)Sandy M.
(4)Amanda S.
(4)Albert H.
Cute bar-like area at the back of SLC pizza, which is basically the same place. Great selection of Utah craft beers and good food, including garlic potatoes and memorable pizza. Prices are reasonable too, and I wish they were open later.
(3)Susan L.
(4)Bill B.
Large, lively Sports bar in the Sugarhood is one of the best places in SLC to watch the big games. Good food overall, with very good sandwiches. Good service from friendly servers. Highly recommended to out-of-towners who want to watch their fave teams in the company of other out-of-towners.
(3)Luke M.
(1)MJ E.
(5)Fernando A.
Cool place but not for the food. It has a great feeling and I like that you can shoot pool or watch a game. The food is ok and I like the Pizza & Past Place next door better-even though they share the same Kitchen. The apps are great but you can find this type of food anywhere.
(3)C P.
Such a disappointment. Food is bland and unimaginative. It's too bad because this place has a lot going for it and could be really good. I live within walking distance and never go there. That is saying something since I love to drink beer and watch sports.
(1)Annah H.
(4)Adam M.
Had the special. Sea bass. It was amazing and priced really good. Sat at the bar. The bar tender was awesome. Sammy kept up with the drinks while it was really busy. I will be back.
(5)Travis K.
(3)J M.
Been here a couple of times and always leave vowing not to return. Last night the server was either incompetent or just plain scandalous. I got the feeling he purposely short changed me. However the food is good and the decor is appealing. Lots big TVs with many viewing selections.
(1)Leanne A.
(2)Tammy N.
(3)Laura B.
The beer here is great but the food is mediocre. I ordered the black bean burger and it was a thin patty with no interesting or unique toppings. I wouldn't go again.
(2)Scott K.
(4)Danny W.
You want beer, pub food, your own table and to watch whatever sporting event you like? Yeah this is your place. Enough room for a big party or just a few friends. If there is a big game on and you want to make sure you get a table get there a little be before the game starts. This place can fill up fast.
(3)Chris Y.
Service was decent, just seemed like a weird mix of a sports bar and Applebee's. The only thing that makes this 3 stars instead of two was the very friendly and good service
(3)Tania S.
(4)Rich G.

Best place to come after a long weekend burning calories. The peek backs are huge, and delicious. Definitely get them, and bring a couple of friends to share.

Meh.. We had the wings and fries. The wings were under average but the fries were yummy.

(4)Spencer T.

Amazing Garlic Burgers and great atmosphere.

I want to love this place! I have tried numerous times! The beer is great and the food is overpriced and very mediocre. I went for brunch and it was really bland and bad.
(3)Michael B.
Excellent burgers, great atmosphere and an all-around good time. Also reasonably priced. Our waitress was extremely pleasant.

(3)Zac L.
Three stars for atmosphere and bar/beer selection. Food rates a bit above mediocre. All in all, a fun spot for groups to grab some comfort bar food and drinks. If the staff weren't so laxidazi, and the food received a bit more love, I'd probably boost them a fourth star.
(3)Spidermonkey J.

(1)Johnny C.
Good food and nice selection of beer...but for a sports bar their TV's are sub par with fairly horible picture quality. The projector TV might be from 1980.Time to go down the street to Best Buy and invest in some new equipment.
(3)Margaret M.
