I've eaten here a few times while on my lunch break. The portion sizes are big and the lunch menu is under $8. Today I ordered the Mongolian beef and I have to say I was disappointed. There was hardly any beef. It was 95% vegetables. Every other time I've been here I haven't been able to eat all the food. I had no problem today. For lack of protein, I'm still hungry. It's affordable and serves big portions. That's about it. Nothing special on the menu. Pretty bland Americanized Chinese food.

This trusty neighborhood restaurant serves fresh and hot american Chinese dishes. They are friendly and affordable. Frankly it is better than Sampan in sugarhouse (look it up) which people rave harder about , and I get take out here about once a month for the last five years.

The food is hardly edible: I wasn't expecting much better than Panda Express. However, this place ales panda seem like a gourmet experience. For the crispy chow Mein, they used the chow Mein noodles made for salad. Over priced and terrible food. Nice enough staff but not worth it. Never again. Better off stopping at the neighboring grocery and getting a frozen meal.

This is my go to place for Chinese takeout. I've been sufficiently happy with their friendly service and well cooked food. On this specific occasion we ordered ham friend rice, sweet and sour chicken, fried wontons, and wonton soup. The wonton soup is especially good and leaves you with a comforting feeling. My parents live in the area and whenever my mother is feeling under the weather, this is what she orders. The sweet and sour chicken was VERY good when it was fresh and warm. I tried some an hour later and it was okay. The best part was that we ordered all these dishes and they had them ready for us to pick up in 10 minutes. I would definitely recommend this for takeout. I've also heard good things about the Dragon Chicken- I plan to order that one next time.

Don't believe the nay sayers! My husband is Asian and I cook Chinese often. Dragon Isle is very good. Some of the dishes reviewed we have not had so maybe that's the problem. Things we know are awesome: house chow fun, Singapore rice noodles, tangerine chicken and beef, sweet and sour chicken, pork and vegetables (made with fresh pork...not a fan or roast pork), salt and pepper cuttle fish and salt and pepper pork chops, chicken with Chinese green beans in black bean sauce (not always available), my shu pork, and young chow wonton soup, and the lettuce wraps. Try one of these, you won't be disappointed!

Meh. I really had high hopes for this neighborhood joint. I felt like it smelled strange when I walked in, but against better judgement we ordered the tangerine beef, fried rice, and lo mein. It was all mildly gross, the only thing that was acceptable was the lo mein. I paid $34 dollars and I wish I could get it back.

Epitome of Americanized Chinese food. I came after a funeral because the family invited everyone for lunch afterward. I assume they knew we were coming, but they were very slow, I think understaffed. I felt bad, but at the same time they should be properly staffed. They did not give out chopsticks at the beginning, first sign of bad things, and they served soda in styrofoam soup containers because apparently they've never had a full dining room. Everything was either too salty or too sweet. I think the worse culprit was the beef and broccoli. Wayyyyy too much soy sauce. It was literally salt diabetes. Then the opposite side, peking beef I think? Wayyyy too sweet. And sesame chicken or something. The best thing there was the fried rice, only because it wasn't either too sweet or too salty. I hate giving a Chinese restaurant 1 star, but anyone who knows good Chinese food would never come here.

Ham egg foo young was cooked well but I would have liked to have the ham cooked inside of the foo young instead of diced and placed on top. House lo mien was delicious and the tangerine pork was just okay. Portions are large, and you get a ton of food for the price. Decent diner, but would probably not come back again.

We always enjoy Dragon Isle. They have hast friendly service. The hot and sour soup is fantastic and I get it to go even after I eat there just to have some the next day. Singapore noodles with shrimp is very tasty and worth sharing with the entire table.

This is a really good local neighborhood Chinese restaurant. The menu contains all the classics any American expects from a Chinese menu and a few chefs specials. In 4 years I have yet to have a poor meal or a meal that wasn't prepared well with fresh ingredients. The lunch special is a exceptional value and the family dinners and combo meals are a good route.

Don't order kung pao shrimp and scallops expecting to have any scallops. We had four small shrimp and maybe the equivalent of one scallop cut up into pieces so tiny we couldn't initally find any in the dish! When we told the restaurant, the manager gave us a lecture on the cost of scallops and basically refused to credit anything back. We decided to let it go and never order from here again.

Wow. THE BEST Chinese food. Ever. Seriously, give them a try. They even deliver and get your order right. I've never dined in, so I can't comment as far as the waiting staff, but over the phone orders are always quick and accurate. Try the tangerine chicken.

This was our first time visiting Dragon Isle. Neighbors had recommended it so my husband and I decided to order take-out tonight. The star is for the hot & sour soup which was just what we expected. The General Tao's chicken was terrible--tempura chicken breast strips in a day-glo orange sauce that tasted like maple-flavored syrup. The breading was thick, soggy and mushy too...more like pancake batter. I wanted a beef and mixed veggie stir-fry with a spicy brown sauce. So, I ordered Hunan beef. It was completely inedible. It tasted like a musty basement. Honestly, I've never before ordered anything that I couldn't even take another bite. What a waste of $25. At least I won't wonder if Dragon Isle is good anymore.

We have been going to Dragon Isle for 3 years now, and we love it. Even though we don't live in the area any more we still stop by every month or so and have lunch. Danny, one of the part owners remembers our name, and impressively knows our "usual" order. If you happen to stop by for lunch they have a great deal for less then 7 bucks. We recommend the Pon Pon chicken!!, Also the Lemon Chicken is pretty good, I would stay away from some of the beef dishes. The lunch special is awesome because along with your choice of meat, you get ham Fried Rice, Lo Mein, choice of soup, a small egg roll, and a salad. Great deal and great food. They just hit their 4 year anniversary mark, Congrats guys!!

Solid and dependable are the words that come to mind when I'm asked about this local place. Tonight the chicken and asparagus was very good, the greens crisp and the black bean sauce flavorful without being salty. The Buddha Tofu was a little soggy, but had an compensating selection of vegetables and three types of mushroom. Great? Maybe not. But always a decent meal at a decent price. Sometimes under-staffed, the service tonight was lacking.

I thought I would take a chance and try this place and was surpised how good it was. I tried the takeaway a few times before we actually did the dine in. Lemon Chicken, Orange Chicken, Fried Rice, Lo Mein and Egg Foo Young are all things I've tried and would eat again. The Beef chow mein was just O.K. and If it has the word pork in it Run!!! I dont remember what it was called but we only needed one bite to know it wasnt for us. Oh yeah I forgot to mention It's all chinese nationals working at this place and comunication can be a little awkward. Just Talk loud and slow and repeat yourself.... Just Kidding.

Probably the best of the strip-mall chinese restaurants, i was extremely surprised at the taste freshness and quality, because places like this are always the same. The portions are huge, my wife and i just get one combo plate and they are happy to bring it on or with 2 separate plates and we both get full (and im a big guy) and the price is real cheep! some friends took us here because it is close by their home and they apparently eat there a couple times a week (because its so good and cheap) and since we have gone back several times with them and a bunch of our other friends, including to celebrate our indoor soccer team victories, and they have plenty of space and service to accommodate the large group. Honestly its more like a 4 star joint, but i added the 5th because of the fact that it is so cheap, and also because it is unique against all the other strip mall joints.

After making a special order for delivery, it arrived completely wrong. The paper wrapped chicken that I didn't order was soggy, the sweet and sour chicken tasted days old. The ham fried rice (also not ordered) tasted WEEKS old. I will not be ordering from them again.
