I love this place! I have been coming here for 8 years. Salad is to die for. I love how they serve the garlic bread. Reminds me of a nice home cooked meal made by my grandma. The old place was awesome in an old run down building, but the new place is better than ever. Family friendly staff that is always excited you are there. The piano man is always good to listen to while enjoying some yummy comfort food.

Sorry Cinegrill, but being a Salt Lake City "institution" doesn't give permission to serve sub par food. I've been going to this restaurant at various locations since the 70s and while the quality hasn't really gone down, expectations based on what a good restaurant is have gone up across the board. Mushy spaghetti with a tomato paste sauce and lasagna which my wife claimed was the "worst ever" we're served beside my sausage steak, which tasted like a flavorless hamburger patty with the consistency of rubber and my wife's beef Parmesan which due to an "off" flavor, she mistook for liver. The salad was the only redeeming feature but even it was pretty average, iceberg lettuce with an oily vinegarette with a small slice of pepperoni and a quarter slice of provolone laid on top with a mini pickled pepper on the side. My suggestion to the Cinegrill is to get into the 21st century which will require a review of their whole menu. In the meantime, for those nostalgic for an experience to see how Italian food was served in the 1950s, with flavor to match, you might like this place with its super bland food. As for me, Addio Cinnegrill.

Yum! And then, YUM again. Such a wonderful place with an owner that truly cares about all the customers and their experience there. The food is amazing. The corn beef sandwich is delicious as well as the cube steak sandwich, sausage sandwich, lasagna, spaghetti. What could top these? Their salad and dressing. You won't regret trying this place and you'll be back for sure! Now, I'm hungry!

Good food but it took us 30 minutes to get our salads. The dining room was practically empty. Also we thought it was a bit over priced for the quality of food.

Minestrone soup was ok, same thing for the spaghetti Italian , nothing great but wasn't too bad at all. Better options out there for the same price. Netx....

I recommend Cinegrill to everyone! This place has always been really really good. Everything on the menu is amazing. Even though we always go with the family style dinner. Just make sure and pick less orders per person or you will have lots of extra food.

I went to Cinegrill last night for the first time in almost 17 years, since that's how long it's been since I lived in Salt Lake City. I recently moved back and was reading on a Facebook group for people who're remembering old businesses and restaurants in Salt Lake. Cinegrill came up and I remember going there many times, sometimes when it was down on Movie Row and, before I left SLC in 1998, I lived in an older apartment on 300 East and the Cinegrill was right next door, and our parking garage was underneath it. It's located now about 1000 So Main St, in kind of a newish business park, next to a Subway Anyway, I went last night, had minestrone and lasagna and I'm sure it's the same recipe as they've always used. Very good food, reasonably priced. The only negative thing (which seems impossible) was the guys playing piano. They were mostly noodling around and not playing full songs which was kind of annoying. I want to take my daughter there since we missed the chance when I lived next door.

The new place is so-so. Food not quite up to par with the old place but I ordered take-out : the spaghetti, meatballs and lasagna were 6 out of 10 on delicious- ness! Come on guys keep working on the food quality. I will try again in a couple months.

Quite possibly the worst meal, ever. How can you wreck spaghetti and salad? Use over cooked pasta, grainy sauce, iceberg lettuce and heavy dressing. Ick.

As a former Salt Laker, we always make sure we go to the Cinegrill when we come to town. We found the new location tonight and it was just as wonderful, unique and delicious, complete with a live pianist to make the experience even more relaxing. The food is fantastic! Be sure to have the side salad, you'll want to lick the plate because the dressing is to die for.

The Cinegrill used to be one of our favorite restaurants when we lived in SLC and after this last experience I would never go back! Prior to tonight's visit it has been about 7 years since we have eaten here. The ambience of the new location is horrible! The waitresses, who have worked there for years seem worn out and done. The food HORRIBLE!! We ordered a pizza ( not worth the money) the Cinegrill chicken with lasagna, which was ok, and The Stu special which has always been my favorite was absolutely disgusting! It was brought to the table and had so much dressing on it that I had to poor it onto another plate, the salad itself was so oily and soggy and the once delicious chicken is now nasty chicken! I couldn't eat it! It took so long for anyone to even come ask how things were. She did apologize and take it off the bill but we left feeling sad that a once great place has run its course...

Their new location, with off street parking, is wonderful! They've kept the charm of the old location. The food is comforting & tasty! If you haven't been to Cinegrill, your missing out. Those of us who have are hooked!

This place is amazing, salads are great with a corned beef sandwich on garlic roll! Love how service and food comes out great and fast. Like most I've been coming to this place for years and love it. It's definitely a must stop place whether you've lived here for years or are new/visiting town. I prefer small family owned places like the Cinegrill. They do have a piano player nightly which is pretty cool!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
