Brio has a classy yet relaxed atmosphere. We ordered a few appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Our favorite dish was the Bruschetta Quattro. It was divine. So many different flavors and textures. I ordered the Brio Sliced Steak Salad. The combination of the nuts, cheese, and steak was so delicious. The steak was a little tough, so maybe next time I'll order it a little bit more rare.

It's good... Far from the best Italian I've ever had, but it's good. The service was very good and the management was also very friendly. I enjoyed the flat bread, the burger was really good for being an Italian restaurant and the had a few really yummy drinks... not to mention cold Peroni!

Just another restaurant serving the American idea of Italian food. It seems to be right on par with Macaroni Grill and the like. I ended up ordering the 5oz fillet rare. The steak came out cooked medium and crusted with salt. The veggies on the side were also very salty. Not really much of a surprise. Just a line chef following some instructions. So if the wait at the Olive Garden is too long then feel free to saunter over the Brio for some similarly ho-hum food.

Service was awful. Had a seven pm reservation, seated quickly, server took our drink and appatizer order quickly. I ordered a lemotini, my friend a pomegranitini and my 14 year old daughter a virgin pina coloda, the server asked for my daughter's id. Found that weird as she ordered a virgin drink. We got our waters a few minutes after that and our appatizer 20 minutes in. An hour in we looked at eachother because we still had not received our drinks. My daughter finally received her drink which was not blended and I think was just the syrup poured over ice, frankly it was disgusting. My friend and I both ordered salads which were both amazing! We then finally received our drinks and although my drink was a vodka based drink I could not really taste the vodka. We then received our meals which were lackluster. I ordered steak medallions with gorgonzola, the mashed potatoes were colder than my drink, the vegetables looked old and wrinkly and the steak medallions were supposed to be medium rare but were week done. My friend said her Margarita flat bread was good. My daughter had penne with tomato sauce which was not good. We had to ask for a bread basket and finally got one 20 minutes after our meal was finished. Overall not planning to go back. We first tried brio in Colorado and it was amazing, I'm not sure what is wrong with this location but service and food was horrible. The server blamed the bartender and the kitchen, the manager blamed the fact it was his first day at this location.

This is my 1st time dining at Brio. I'm from the San Francisco area, so I'm used to a high standard when it comes to dining out. Everything I ordered at Brio was at least 4.5-5 stars. The beef carpaccio was great, and a huge portion. The lobster ravioli was excellent, and the sauce was amazing and unique. My girlfriend order the filet, and it was overlooked. The manager heard, came over spoke with us, and removed it from the bill. Overall good was great, and service was awesome too.

I attended Brio for the first time last week and was pleasantly surprised. There was a pleasant ambience and it felt very inviting. I highly recommend getting any one of their bruschettas. Their greek yogurt cheesecake was certainly a treat as well. The waitress was very professional and attentive. She was extremely knowledgable of all the dishes and provided the table with helpful advice for choosing a dish. The chef even came out and asked how our steaks were. I was impressed. I would choose Brio Tuscan Grille over The Cheesecake Factory nine out of ten times. Although the entree portions are a little bit smaller than The Cheesecake Factory's, the quality and flavor of the dish is certainly better. I expect to be eating at Brio again in the near future.

I went here for a friends birthday dinner, which is about the only way I ever would have ended up eating here. There was a big group of us so we were seated in a private room. The waitress came in and demanded attention and gave us a 15 minute discourse on the menu. When people would start having side convos she would stop them and insist they listen to her and give her their attention. The food was fine, but it's just another over priced Italian chain restaurant. I have no intention of ever returning.

I'm asian so I typically don't like italian food because it seems to always be thick and heavy ... With the exception of maybe pizza . Well let me start off with the atmosphere and service . The servers were lovely , they seem like they all could be hollister models in high school lol . They were nice but I had to repeat myself multiple times because they would take forever to complete my request ( maybe it had to do with the fact that I was dining alone ) . The atmosphere was lovely , you almost forget that you are at a mall. I had their strawberry lemonade to drink . It was too sweet, as in syrupy sweet . If you like your lemonade sweet you'll like it . Appetizer: I had beef carpaccio , I appreciated the fact that the waiter warned me it was raw beef . Other than for a medium rare steak I don't think I've ever had raw beef before . I'm familiar with raw fish (sashimi) so it didn't bother me too much . I enjoyed it , it wasn't too heavy on my stomach and it was delicious . Salad : I had bistec insalada ? (Name ?) it was a quarter slice of a lettuce head with white dressings that taste like homemade ranch , some green onions and bacon bits . I was a little confuse on how to eat it .. The presentation was ... Interestingly unique I was kinda full by this time but when I was walking to the restroom I saw an appetizer tray . I have a thing for crème brûlée and chocolate desserts . I have to try them all at every restaurant ... It took them a long time to bring me the dessert menu . I asked 3 times . Turns out, they don't have a dessert menu . The tray I saw was the menu . It was cool but if it took that long I don't mind a regular paper menu . I was tired of waiting and passed on the dessert . I'm determine to come back to try the dessert with my friends and the brio signature pasta ( the person next to me ordered it)

Sometimes I feel like chain restaurants don't get enough credit because yelpsters love the local hip joints that are unique (as do I). But... If you took a blind taste test, this chain restaurant may win almost every time. The food is fantastic. The lobster ravioli is amazing. I also never come here without ordering the bruschetta quattro. It's unbelieeeevvable

I've been here a few times and they never disappoint. Friendly staff, fresh food and great location. My favorite is the stuffed French Toast. Only served during brunch hours Saturday and Sunday. Bonus: After you're done eating, a great way to walk off your meal is to do some shopping at the City Creek Shopping Center. YES, please...

What a killer location on the patio for people watching, while enjoying your drinks and dinner. Our server was really good, and even cracked a joke about my friend's Michigan shirt. But something was up with the kitchen because by the time I got my meal my 3 friends were halfway finished with theirs. The food was just ok (I had the Sausage Peperonata Pomodoro). Not bad, but nothing to rave about. I must issue a disclaimer, and say that I had food envy. Everyone else's food looked amazing and they were making the sounds of contentment to go along with it. The "Chicken Under a Brick" looked freaking awesome. Definitely a 4 star place if it wasn't for the delay in my food arriving and if said food was better and a better bargain. Prices were a tad steep for what you get. $14.50 for essentially spaghetti with sliced sausage. Now throw in a small side salad and the price is just right. Dinner prices are $14+

This was my first time at Brio (apparently it's a chain) and I had a great experience here. There was a group of about 20 of us, so we reserved a large dining room. We were able to close the doors to the main dining area and adjust the volume of the music, which was appreciated. Our waitstaff (1 head waiter and 2 other guys filling drinks, clearing plates, etc) was wonderful and very attentive. The food was fabulous. You're going to pay a little more ($15-20pp), but it is worth it. Our group shared bites and everything I tried was good, including the scrumptious desserts. Overall I had a lovely experience here and will be back.

We love this restaurant. Every time we have eaten here, the food has been fresh and delicious. The service has been spot on. The Bruschetta Quattro is yum! The lobster and shrimp ravioli is delicious as well as the beef medallions. We have not had a bad experience here.

Full disclosure: I hate here for free during a yelp event. For a chain, I would say that Brio is very very good. As you would expect, the food is tasty, but I also feel like the menu was creative and Bar Brioso menu delivered a really good value. For drinks, I had a mango mojito which was tasty although a little sweet, and an old fashioned which was also really good. Because this was a tasting event, we had small portions of many of the dishes on the new happy hour menu. Although none of the menu items seemed overly innovative, each of them was really tasty. From what I can remember,, we were served eggplant fries, humus, and a shrimp dish. I would buy each of them again.

My family and I went here while catching up with an old friend of mine from my teenage years. Because I paid more attention to talking than to taking in the ambiance of the restaurant, this review may be a little under-detailed. Fair warning! I had the Grilled Salmon Fresca and loved it. My wife had something with mushrooms though she asked for them to be put to the side and the waiter forgot to tell the cooks. We ordered a pizza for my daughter but it was a little too fancy for her simple tastes. The service felt very mechanical. While not terrible, the server seemed to be reading from a script as he walked us through everything. Even his recommendations sounded rehearsed and robotic. I expected something better from our waiter when the price of the restaurant was so high.

I love this place so very much! Every single thing ive had here has been so good. Absolutely no complaints about the service either. Always on the spot and always very good.

Food is good but a bit expensive. I came here with a party of four on a Saturday for lunch. Service was SLOW. Other than that it's a classy place for a date night or a good dinner where you aren't trying to get in and get out. I had the Soup of the Day that was good. The Salmon on Angle Hair was to die for!

  • Rodrigo L.

Service was wonderful. The hostess was very polite at the entrance and the waitress was very kind and polite. I am no Italian so I wouldn't know if it's the real thing but for me the taste was wonderful. They prepare my plate in a couple minutes. The music and the lights are perfect. The background music is in a good volume. I totally would recommend it.

  • Andrew T.

The food was excellent. My risotto was perfect and my wife enjoyed her pasta. However, our server was terrible. Twice now we have been "served" by Carlos and will request to not be sat in his section from now on. He didn't seem interested in bringing us boxes or our check even though we had clearly been done for over twenty minutes. Maybe it's because we didn't order drinks?

I have been to this restaurant 2 times now. Once for the sampling event where I was allowed to taste a wide variety of items on the menu, and another with the whole family. Its right next to Cheesecake factory which made my brother wonder aloud if it was an Italian version of it. After eating there two times now I'd say that analogy is pretty close, with Brio being cozier and less "factory". Coming into the restaurant there is a very nice ambiance and sense you are going into and upper scale establishment. The decor is warm and inviting and the staff very professional and knowledgeable about the menu items. The portions are generous so my wife and I split the Chicken Pomodoro Classico which with the sourdough bread and rosemary crackers was plenty for us. The chicken was tender and flavorful and sauce was thick and chunky with a rich texture to it. I have also sampled the following -Tuscan Harvest Salad- Very good and fresh tasting. -Pasta Alla Vodka- The most popular dish. I thought it was good but lacked contrast or kick if you get a bite without any meat in it. -Tomato & Mozzarella Caprese- Awesome fresh Mozzarella! -Chicken Limone- Good -Berries and Cream French Toast- Amazing! Eggs Benedictano- Very good! Overall I would say its a solid 4 stars, but when you consider that its probably a step above Carrabas and 3 steps above Olive Garden with the price being maybe 35% more well....that brings 4.5-5 stars. The ingredients seem better than most chains and the flavors are really good.

Came here for the first time tonight and tried their new Bar Brioso menu...it was great! It's their spin on happy hour and is every weekday from 330-630. They had a number of drink specials that were 6 bucks or less and had lots if flavor. Between my girlfriend and I, we tried the manhattan, the key lime mojito, lemon basil crush and the white peach sangria. All of them were terrific, but if have to say that the lemon basil crush was the best. The little hit of basil really made the drink stand out. For food, same as the drinks, the menu is very well priced. They had a number of items that were 4, 5 or 6 dollars. My favorites were the Brio Burger, the flatbread and the beef carpaccio. Also, the eggplant fries. Those were amazing and something I had never seen before. This new food and drink menu is a great deal and they are both really delicious! I'll be coming back real soon.

The restaurant itself was beautiful and fun, our waiter was great, and the food was pretty good. It's not cheap, but I find it a LOT better than Macaroni Grill (for example) which has comparable prices but definitely inferior food. Entrees run $15-25 apiece, most a la carte. I got the baked half-chicken and really enjoyed it and the mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. It seemed like decent value for the money at ~$15. I filled up and then some. Husband got the ravioli di bello (mushroom ravioli) and though it was tasty, the portion size was a bit small. The minestrone soup was delicious, as was the free bread. Friends got the fetuccine rustica and some pasta with shrimp and both thought they were delicious. Overall, the menu was filled with a ton of really appetizing choices; it was hard to choose. It was a Saturday night and pretty busy, so the food took a reasonably long time to come out. I wouldn't come here if you're starving and need something quick, but I guess that goes without saying.

The service time was horrible. The food was bland and small portions of noodles. Far from authentic Italian. Highly recommend cheesecake across.

took my sweetheart here for his birthday and we absolutely adored the place. Very grandiose interior, which on an empty Sunday evening, makes the place appear 100 times bigger! The service was excellent, as was the food. Nice, clean restaurant to go to for a special dinner.

I went to a Yelp Event at this venue and got to sample the new happy hour menu. All the appetizers were truly delicious with interesting flavors and ingredients. The drinks were scrumptious as well. The waitstaff had some difficulties but I think it was an unusual circumstance, and I wasn't too upset waiting for the correct drink. The prices were phenomenal for what we were getting, and I look forward to going back to try more in the very near future!

BRIO is always a safe haven when you want a good meal and friendly service. The beef carpaccio is great and is big enough to share. Try a pasta dish and you won't get disappointed. Price is fair and atmosphere casual but setting stylish

In the interest of full disclosure, I have to admit that I've only been here one time. However, because this one time was a super awesome, super amazing, super rockin', super sweet yelp event, I was able to taste, like, 20 different dishes. And . . . here we go. 1. Frittata: IMHO, their best dish of the night. Savory, perfectly balanced, unique (angel hair!), fontina, some tasty sort of sauce . . . I could have eaten ten of these. 2. Stuffed french toast. Yes, it was stuffed. And yes, it was fabulous. 3. Spaghetti and sausage pomodoro something or other: this was my favorite entree of the night. The tomatoes had a nice robust flavor, accented by the sausage. Very good. Good balance between tomato, olive oil, protein, and starch. 4. Chicken Limone / picatta: I have to admit, this wasn't my favorite. The limone sauce was slightly mild to my taste. 5. Crab cakes: good and mostly fresh. 6. Tuscan and strawberry salads: both very good in that the sauces and produce was fresh. However, I wasn't entirely sure about the deli-like sliced chicken. Maybe I don't know Italian as much as I should. 7. Shrimp--very good. I'd come back for this. 8. Pillow vodka . . . something . . . you had me at vodka--very good. Fairly mild tomato sauce, good pasta, and nice helping of pancetta. 9. Bread. Good. Good sourdough bread. Very good. Warm, moist, not too sour. 10. Caprese salad--decent. Very mild fresh mozzarella. 11. Brunch goodies: recommended. Loved the soft egg. Now, the servers: My impression of this restaurant was that it'd like to be the Italian alternative to the Cheesecake Factory. Whether you think that's a good thing is up to you (I typically stay away from corporate food as I find it rather soulless). I do think the vast majority of restaurant goers will enjoy the ambiance, and I know you'll enjoy the service. The servers were great--they knew how the explain the food, they treated us like VIPs, and they moved about fluidly and with grace (yeah, I said "grace"), which is to say they weren't obtrusive. Will I go here again? You bet. Do I wish their prices were a bit lower? Sure. Is the food worth it, though? I'll definitely take my wife back for the frittata and the pomodoro dish, and I think those prices are fair. Thanks for the good experience, guys.

Okay, to put it simply this place is mediocre. Let me start off by saying, Brio is a dressed up Macaroni Grill. But in terms of food, even Macaroni Grill is better. The wait staff was kind, but forcibly so. The constant addressing of "miss" and "sir" paired with the seemingly extravagant set up, does not mirror the food whatsoever. The epitome of Americanized. I had the lasagna and a caesar salad to begin with. The caesar salad was okay but the lasagna came out faster than a lean cuisine. I kid you not, it probably took a solid 10 minutes for a heaping plate of lasagna to appear. The cheese looked and tasted processed, which in turn tainted the entire dish. The serving sizes are huge (for some people a plus, others not so much). And the "Brio" logo on the plate was just plain tacky. I have to question the reviews on here that have held this place to such high standards. This is not even remotely authentic, and was a pretty big let down. You're better off at the Cheesecake Factory, and if you really have a strong craving for Italian food , Brio is essentially on par with Sbarro, located in the food court and significantly cheaper.

The food was great and the atmosphere was fun. I went with a large work group so the seating is a little bit tight but other than that it was comfortable. I had the pasta alla vodka and it was really good. I could not finish my dish as it was a little bit rich. The chopped salad was laced heavy with onions but I like onions so it was not an issue for me. My favorite thing was the ginger ale, I am not sure if it is a special blend but it was amazing and highly recommended!!!! Over all I like this place.

My gorgonzola encrusted small filet was divine! I only wish I lived closer to enjoy this preparation again...no one else does it quite so well. Our waiter was very attentive and was sandbagged by the restaurant's beverage director. We ordered FOUR different bottles of wine, only to learn they were OUT OF STOCK. With a convention of 4000-5000 in Salt Lake City, one would expect better pre-planning, especially for the most popular and affordable wines. FINALLY we were able to identify a wine they had in stock, and we left on a happy note. I especially appreciated being able to make a reservation from my iPhone online.

  • Beej C.

The happy hour menu has items, including a decent hamburger, in the $5 range as well as drinks like Sangria for $4. You need to ask specifically for the happy hour menu; I suspect in many states it would be served only at the bar but this location does not have a bar but will serve you the happy hour items and alcohol at a regular table. The room is light, airy and upscale and the service organized. Not a destination restaurant, unless you view upscale chains as fine dining, but a sometimes useful location and time slot for a good value, light evening meal.

Excellent service with phenomenal staff. Was here with a large party and other large parties (here for work). Staff was prepared for large influx of people. Food was awesome, great flavor!! Wine list is good. I would recommend this place to anyone and they were more than receptive to large groups!!

3 different entrees in our group. Shrimp ok said one person but he liked my salmon better so did I. Great with lots of veggies . One other guy loved his beef pasta and we all loved our carpaccio. Fun ambience glad we made reservation. Close to convention center on Saturday nite so big wait also big wait Friday so we opted to come back Sat instead with reservations. Some reviews complained about service but our waiter was a 10 in every respect . I wanted to go back for Sunday brunch.

We stopped in for a Sunday Brunch. I previously went to a tasting event here and decided to come back, so it must be good. Located right outside of City Creek Center and open Sunday (unlike City Creek), Brio is a great brunch option in SLC. Brio has amazing rolls and bread. We order the calamari, french toast, and crab and shrimp cakes. The calamari was large and very tasty. The french toast was fluffy, soft, and melted in your mouth. The french toast is topped with berries. I ordered the shrimp and crab cakes and I rely enjoyed the dish with roasted vegetables, but the creamy horseradish was a little too rich. Brio has a full selection of brunch drinks (alcoholic and n/a) that were very tasty. Brio is a nice downtown option for a Sunday brunch. At times Brio does not feel like a chain restaurant which is always a plus. I look forward to trying other brunch items like their omelets and the benedict. The staff is friendly and there is plenty of parking in City Creek or on the street.

These three stars are based on some apps I had last night: beef carpaccio, caprese salad and Caesar salad. It was good, not great. Don't think id make it a point to go back next time I visit SLC.

  • Alena A.

Five stars to this place is barely enough !!! During every visit service is outstanding. Waters are excellent, atmosphere is very inviting and relaxing and they also have an outdoor patio. This is one of the places where you will not be told that kitchen is closing in 30 min and you will not be waiting to be seated. For those who are looking to have good food, properly plated and properly served over the table that actually has a tablecloth without overpaying for these necessities Brio is a good choice in Salt Lake City.

  • Gary K.

What a wonderful evening! Excellent service, great food, and a staff who really seemed to care about our evening. My wife is on a salt-restricted diet, and when this was mentioned to the waiter a group of excellent suggestions with the assurance that the kitchen would take special care was the immediate response. Our group included the 5 year old twins, and their food was well presented, brought early, and tasted delightful. Everyone in our party enjoyed the evening, and we all commented that we would surely return on our next trip through Salt Lake City.

Not my favorite, there are better Italian inspired restaurants to try in Utah. The atmosphere in the restaurant is fun and inviting, but the food is sub-par for the price.

  • Cheri W.

I was treated out dinner on my trip to Salt Lake City and loved the dining experience! The place had a classy but hip vibe, the service was A1' and the menu selection came with light entrees to robust fares. I ordered shrimp Mediterranean which was grilled and well seasoned, served with orzo pasta, spinach and cherry tomatoes. As we were finishing up our main entrees, the waitress came with a selection of dessert which were so tempting so I ordered Tiramisu which was one of the best I've had. I'd definitely dine at Brio's if I fly back to SLC.

I'm not going to lie. I had been to Brio before but just didn't remember until I realized that it is the restaurant my bestie and I visited when the Cheesecake Factory was too busy to wait. We left feeling underwhelmed. Last night was completely different. My dear sweet Larissa brought me along as her +1 to Yelp event at the location in City Creek. Aside from great conversation and a lot of fun the food was pretty dang amazing. Don't ask me what I tried, because after the pillow vodka ricotta deliciousness it was done for me. You guys. These things are the stuff dreams are made of. Even though the room we were in was small the staff navigated it with precision and grace. My water glass was never empty, my tummy was full, and I left excited to come back. Apparently they do brunch, too. An Italian place that does brunch!? SCORE!! If you're at City Creek and needing a tasty place to eat, give Brio a shot.

Went to Brio for a late lunch and loved it! The service was friendly and prompt, an the atmosphere was nice, but not over the top. I'd thoroughly recommend the appetizer with shrimp and eggplant. The shrimp were well seasoned, and the eggplant was deliciously cooked.

We went to Brio on a whim on a Tuesday night and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was cool and our waiter, Hector, was awesome! He saw that I was wearing black pants and immediately offered a black napkin in place of the standard white- great attention to detail! We had the artichoke encrusted steak and salmon and they were delicious. The mayo-based sauce served with the calamari appetizer is to die for! We will definitely be back. I'd recommend brio to anyone look for a fantastic meal at a classy/cool restaurant...

  • Felix B.

This is the type of restaurant that gives the appearance of being an exquisite dining experience, but it fails to deliver on the key element: great food. The bread was bland, the vegetables were barely seasoned, and the sauce was flavorless. Don't get me wrong though, the food wasn't BAD; however, the atmosphere and prices foster expectations of much better food than was delivered.

This was a delicious and fun experience. The bruschetta Quattro was fabulous. I don't know if there was value above and beyond your typical American Italian restaurant but if you want good food and a fun atmosphere, you can't go wrong here.

I went her last night and had the seafood Alfredo, I must say it was the best I ever had. the service was great and the food was served very promptly. I would highly recommend Brio to anyone.

Delicious Pasta alla Vodka and a good glass of wine. A server who is careful, courteous and well-timed. Dessert (Torta di Cioccolata) that doesn't disappoint and is better executed than most molten chocolate cakes in town. I don't ask for much more.

  • Jonathan D.

Abysmal service. The staff seemed about as qualified to work in a restaurant as a gaggle of mentally deficient geese. Though I made a reservation for 8 pm, my party was not seated until 8:30 pm. We promptly ordered however did not receive our food for over an hour and a half. The waitress also forgot to bring our appetizer. And the food was about one notch above airline food. Do not visit this restaurant under any circumstances. It's the worst. Update: the manager comped our entire meal. So there's that. Still never coming back though.

  • Joyce D.

Loved the lasagna here. Absolutely delicious, but the serving size was huge. I wish a smaller sized serving had been listed on their "light" menu. (I went for dinner. Perhaps their lunch servings are smaller?) I had the creme brûlée for dessert, also delicious. I would order both again, even with the serving size. Italian food is usually better heated up the next day anyway, so Italian leftovers is actually a positive. (I can say that because I'm Italian.) The service was also excellent. Our young waiter was very attentive and solicitous, friendly and polite. I look forward to eating at Brio Tuscan Grill again.

Anyone can make food taste good if you add enough sugar, fat and salt. The food tastes good for the first few bites because it appeals to the senses. But if you typically eat healthy, you'll feel horrible the next day due to the salt and fat overload. Don't believe me? Look at the nutrition information. Your mind will be blown. We attended a training night and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. We wouldn't normally choose a place like this, but we were given an invite and love trying new places. To start, we were given the spinach dip with parmesan flat bread. The flat bread was very tasty. For our salad, we split the caprese appetizer, which was meh. The tomatoes were mealy roma tomatoes with very little flavor. I ordered the salmon which was very dry and didn't have a good flavor. It was also served over a fried tomato, which made the salmon super oily. The crab and shrimp cakes had good flavor, but were mushy. The best part of the meal was dessert. We got the Brio specialty- brownie with fudge and gelato. It was amazing, but I find it rare that I dislike a dessert that has chocolate. The presentation on all of the plates was nice and the service was friendly. If this is the type of food you enjoy and you don't mind the price, then you'll probably enjoy Brio. But for the same price, you can go to one of the many local restaurants in SLC and get fresh local food that a chef actually takes time to make.

I eat at restaurants for three reasons, service, food and atmosphere. I was disappointed on all three. Although of waiter was a nice young man, he was inexperienced. It would be nice if restaurants would offer better training of inexperienced employees. Several times, he interrupted conversation when we were in the middle of a sentence, he was delayed on getting items we asked for, he bought me the wrong food. It took a very long time for drinks orders to arrive. Also food delivery timing was too fast. This is a wait staff jobs to ensure the kitchen timing is not too fast. So salads came out while we were still eating appetizers. Many folks may not mind this, I do in 'nice' restaurants. The food was average. Our waiter claimed the Cesear salad was one of the best-it was lettuce cut up(!) with croutons. The dressing was very heavy. The Chicken Marsala had a very heavy, brown gravy sauce. Not very good. The salmon, which was the food I didn't order, was also average and too saucey. The decor is very nice. However, the room temperature was very cool. We were seated under vents and asked to have the air adjusted. It never was. We should have asked to be moved, but didn't. There are far more fantastic restaurants in the immediate vicinity of downtown SLC. I have had incredible food, exceptional service and fantastic atmosphere at all of them. I travel to SLC for business and often take take folks out to dinner. Brio will, unfortunately, be at the end of my list.

The restaurant is tastefully decorated. The chairs are comfy and staff very friendly and helpful. I explained my tastes and diet restrictions to Ryan - our waiter. I told him what I was thinking of having and asked his suggestions. He did not try to up - sell me. The food was timely and presented beautifully. It tastes better than it looked. Enjoy this nice dining experience.

After several more visits to Brio, along with excellent customer service from the GM, I'm ready to raise my opinion of this place. The new management at this location has really turned things around, in a good way. It's not that Brio was ever awful; it just wasn't worth the price and was very hit-or-miss. The last few times we've dined here, things have gone perfectly. The food always arrives promptly and the drinks always flow freely. I've made a point to try different dishes on every visit and I haven't been disappointed with anything. The wedge salad is one of the best I've ever tasted and all the pastas are cooked to perfection. We always request Joey as our server, if he's working, because he rocks! He's friendly, efficient and has incredible customer service skills. Keep up the good work Brio! Cheers!

I walked into Brio with very high hopes and left with a few ups and few downs. We were greeted by friendly hosts, our waitress was absolutely lovely and very helpful with helping us order. The menu looked soooooo good, I wanted to order one of everything. I ended up ordering the Half Roasted Chicken which came with roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes. I also had a strawberry lemonade to drink. Lemonade, good but nothing to rave about. When my food came out I started drooling, this place has presentation down to a science. Unfortunately my mashed potatoes were a little bland, and the chicken was very dry. Not a bad meal by any means, but it looked a lot better than it tasted. Overall, an experience, just not a culinary one.

Nothing special.. Brio lies as an extension of the City Creek Center which I do not find that appealing in the first place, but as I was extremely hungry and without Internet connection to navigate to a Yelp recommended place to eat, I decided to go to Brio. I had a caesar salad which was very nice, but nothing special though. I also had Pasta Pesto, which I found extremely boring. It was made of Angel Hair Pasta that did not taste of anything and the pesto was really hard to tell. The waiter was kind though. And the bathroom was really pretty decorated with marble sinks.

This is my second visit to this restaurant and yet again was pleasantly "treated" I was promptly seated and the waiter was diligent throughout the meal. The table bread includes a crusty loaf with tender interior and zesty crispy flat bread. I had the three course meal deal. I started with Ensalada Bisteca, this is a wedge salad topped with a creamy parmesan dressing topped with blue cheese and crispy bacon. The entree was crab crusted salmon served over a mixture of quinoa and faro and grilled vegetables. For dessert I had the mascarpone cheesecake. All this dishes were well executed and very delicious.

Brio is a classy Italian chain restaurant that prides itself in good service and good food. They offer brunch, lunch and dinner and have a large drink menu full of cocktails, Martinis and wine options. On Wednesdays they offer martinis for $5 and all the varieties I've tried were delicious. This most recent visit, I ordered the shrimp ravioli on the evening specials menu. It was a tad saltier than I would have liked, but the sauce was peppery and paired really well with the shrimp. I loved my boyfriend's fettuccine dish that I had more than one bite of. On past visits, I remember really enjoying the Pasta alla vodka and their spicy shrimp and eggplant dish. Service has always been great, so 4 stars it is.

I came here with about 17-20 people on a Monday night . Honestly, my husband and I normally wouldn't have picked this place but it was for a family dinner so we had no choice. At $18-$20 a plate I was expecting way better than a different take on Olive Garden dishes and the reviews I had read left me feeling skeptical. Thankfully, we were pleasantly surprised. My husband ordered the brick chicken and I ordered the pasta a la vodka. The chicken was juicy and tender while also staying true to its fire grilled flavor- I was impressed. The pasta a la vodka was spicy and creamy but it didn't have the garlic flavor that I hoped for. We ordered dessert- cheesecake and a peanut butter trifle. It was good but it wasn't anything to write home about. Overall, it was a nice meal but the price of the meal and the lack of parking validation at City Creek convinced me that it was a one-time restaurant stop.

Beautiful atmosphere, great food and excellent service! The Angel hair pasta with chicken is great! One of the best Italian restaurants I've been to! Beautiful patio to enjoy a great outdoors dinner.

Coworker wanted to take our group here because he ate there the night before and thought it was great. I'm not a huge fan of mall type restaurants, but this was a very nice experience. Everybody in our group seemed to enjoy their food as they cleaned their plates. We sat on the patio which was nice and they have patio heaters there for those chili nights. The service was tentative and professional. I would have no problem visiting this restaurant again weather on a date or with a group. For my entree I had the Mediterranean Salad which was Grilled Shrimp on a bed of orzo and veggies. I have to say the shrimp was excellent. I know shrimp is not the hardest thing to do right, but this was decent size and perfectly cooked with right amount of spice and char on it. The veggies were the right complimentary assortment and pulled the whole dish together. A great dish for those who want something on the "lighter side." I also had the kale Cesar salad to start which was good but not much kale in it. It was a mix of romain, radicchio, and a bit of kale.

I ordered the beef shank special. My dinner was greasy, like the sauce sat overnight and was reheated. The beef was black, overdone and tough from being dried out. Some carrots were tender, others not cooked enough. The onions looked like they were not cooked. The waiter was friendly and highly recommended the beef over the shrimp/crab cakes. The meal was more expensive than the beef shank I ordered in Boston's Little Italy. I anticipated it to be of the same quality but it wasn't even close. I wouldn't order this again or choose to go here again. However, if a group invited me, I would go to enjoy their company. The other food at our table of 9 was better than mine.

What a wonderful experience! Quiet, comfortable setting, excellent staff, and amazing food. I'm always happy when the server takes the time to talk through a menu before making recommendations. The Cesar salad was rich and fresh without being overbearing. The lobster ravioli with shrimp was incredible- just the right amount of spice and magic. And don't skip the creme brûlée- it's dreamy!

Excellent service and food. Grilled salmon with roasted sweet potatoes and peppers and asparagus was fantastic and creme brûlée well worth it.

I've always had good service at Brio. And really, it's not too different in price than Cheesecake Factory next door, but mug better quality. I love the steak salad but the quinoa chicken salad is a close second!

We always love Brio! The food was very tasty. we love getting the chicken Limone. We get it with the breaded chicken instead of the chicken that it comes with. the breading with the lemon sauce makes for a great treat. They also have very good lemonade. they have great service and the food is very flavorful!

Surprisingly good food. Great location near the mall with excellent outdoor seating. Very accommodating service. Willing to provide food for people with food allergies. Nice menu covers all the food groups. If you can't find something to eat, you are way too picky. Pastas are nicely done with not too salty sauces.

In town for a conference. I had dinner here tonite. I ordered a certain pinot noir but they were out of it. Waiter then suggested I have a certain chianti - they were out of that one too!! I then ordered a Chilean cab and when glass arrived it was less than half full - really? After all that drama! I almost got up and left but didn't - mistake. I ordered salmon which was ok - the sweet potatoes were undercooked and a big crunchy. Not a great meal - will not be back. I should have left!! Don't stop here......keep moving.

So we had 4-5 good experiences here, then it all came to a close over the worlds saddest steak salad. Ordered a $15 dollar med rare steak salad and a kids grilled chicken. Kids meal was spot on, came out fast, delicious (or so my 2yr old thought). Steak salad took 15-20 min, only to come out ultra diet/lite version and looked pre-chewed. They took it off, but no manager contact at all, and I went hungry tonight. No apology, no offer to fix it somehow. They didn't give two shits about my experience. Great hostess, nominal server, shit management (on this round). Hasn't been so in the past. Feeling conflicted. Unprofessional (Update: The manager, Matt, made it to the table just when I was about to leave. He said all the wrong things. Now I'm hungry and pissed (seems to go hand in hand actually). He inferred that I ate some of the salad... Didn't touch that nastiness. He seemed like he didn't know what I was talking about and he was unaware of any issues... Did a great job of making it worse.) I'm starting to understand why they are empty all day.

A nice downtown Italian place with a bit of pizzazz! Brio has rich flavors and great portions. The space is gorgeous but the tables still have and intimate feel. Worth a repeat!

1- waitress is very attentive and thoughtful. Great service. 2- food is delicious. Lasagna is very simple, not too salty, taste fresh 3- chop salad (appetizer) is very big. It filled me up without eating the entree. 4- calamari wasn't too bad. Average. Red sauce taste like Prego. Overall, I recommend anyone to try this place when in SLC. You won't be disappointed.

**This review is for the happy hour special** I recently checked out Brio for a few drinks and a snack. I was pleased by the interior decor and the optional outdoor seating. The staff was very accommodating to our group that seemed to grow and grow and grow. The $5 drink menu had a good selection as well as the happy hour food specials. The food was in a good sized portion and the price was right. I had the shrimp and eggplant and was very pleased with it. My friend got the ravioli and it looked great. I would have gave Brio another star but I thought they could work on a few things. It is unclear which door to enter. I saw many people stand by the corner patio seating waiting to be served (as I did when I arrived) only to be ignored. They lack a bar. Although the wait staff was very accommodating and did a great job they were a little too scripted and almost seemed robotic. I like personality and interaction not cookie cutter dinning experiences. Guess that is what I get for going to a chain restaurant in Utah.

This place is great for a nice lunch or dinner. It has a warm ambiance, delicious food, and all around great service. For being in a mall (granted it's City Creek, so it's a step up from your typical mall), this place has a really classy interior. When I was there it was full of what looked like businessmen and women out for a slow, relaxed meal. It's a great choice if you're looking to go somewhere a little nicer for a romantic dinner or if you want to meet up with someone for a business lunch or dinner. The food blew me away. I'm genuinely surprised to see other reviews talk down the food. Everything I had was brilliant. I ordered the bruschetta sampler appetizer, which comes with 2 of each of the 4 bruschetta options on the menu. Every one blew me away in its own way. My favorite was the sliced steak bruschetta (can't go wrong with steak, gorgonzola, tomato, arugula all on top of a slice of toasted bread). Every ingredient was fresh and paired perfectly. I'd definitely order this appetizer again. For the main course I wanted to stay at least a little bit on the healthier side, so I ordered the grilled salmon fresca. The salmon was slightly crispy on the outside and juicy in the center. Perfect. Add sweet potatoes, roasted red peppers, asparagus, and a pesto glaze and... yeah, I'm drooling just thinking about it. The roasted red peppers alone were enough for me to be completely satisfied with what I chose. For dessert I ordered the creme brulee and my wife ordered the molten lava cake. Both were incredible. The creme brulee had that perfect candied sugar glaze that you get to crack with your spoon, and the creme was smooth and sweet. The molten lava cake came out hot, so it softened the vanilla ice cream until by the very end we were spooning up a delicious chocolate vanilla puddle. Our server was great at making sure we were well taken care of throughout the night. My drinks were never empty and the timing between courses was perfect. It was relaxed, we had time to chat between our courses, but not enough time to wonder where the food was. All in all I was completely blown away by the experience and will definitely make this a regular place when I'm looking for a nice sit down meal with good company.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
