The Training Table Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

The Training Table serves a singular and very specific purpose for me. Cheese Fries with Dipping Sauce. Oh Em Gee. It's beyond sinful, at something like 744,000 calories. I don't care. I make up for it by eating the hell out of it once a year. Aside from TTT's very convenient, if unsanitary, ordering process, this is truly the only reason I come here. My love for this spellbinding combination is weighted solely on the required medley of the fries, the cheese, and the BBQ-mayo dipping sauce. They all bear 33.33% of the responsibility in the success of this magic plate of rapture. Separately, they are barely acceptable; together, it is ambrosia. I try not to think about it beyond that. Their burgers...ugh. Not great. To me, they rely heavily on their unique combinations and great toppings options to disguise the substandard taste of the meat. The sandwiches and salads are at least as unremarkable, if not downright bad. In probably 15 visits, I haven't tried anything I'd order again. ...except the aforementioned cheesy merger of wonder...it's where it's at.

The food here is generally pretty good though I cannot believe how expensive their prices are getting. Today I ordered a turkey-bacon sandwich, medium cheese fries (with sauce that they charge you for), large coke and it was $15! If I took my family there it would be $75 or so! Also, after waiting 15 minutes for my food my sandwich had a hair in it! No joke, they didn't even offer to "comp" my meal, just made me another sandwich...

Yikes. In a nutshell, The Training Table reminds me of a crappy Denny's. The food is very unimpressive. I ordered the BBQ chicken salad. Dressing was terrible and the rest was nothing to write home about. My husband ordered the Bleu Bacon Burger. Again, nothing spectacular. He was asked if he wanted dipping sauce and then told it was fifty cents extra. The dipping sauce? Ketchup with a dollop of mayonnaise in the middle. My son ordered chicken tenders. They tasted like they came from the frozen section of Wal-Mart and were cooked a week ago. The restaurant itself was clean enough. The one employee I interacted with was nice and helpful. I didn't mind the fact that you order your food from a phone at the table. I would definitely never come here again.

Never had been here and I've lived in Utah for 4 yrs. Decided to go one night around 730. I was disappointed. The food is marginal. My husband, a Utah native said he hadn't been in 15 or 20 yrs but remembers now why he hadn't been back. It's also expensive for what it is. Won't return.

My family has been to this location twice now in the last couple of months. Both times my husband has had to go to the counter to find out what has happened to our order. The first time we waited over 45 minutes because our order had been skipped! The phone was broken as well. The second time the same thing happened, just not quite as long. They also got our order wrong! The staff were not very friendly and, as noted by others, there seemed to be an abundance of people crowding the register. The only reason I gave two stars is because I like the food but I don't think my family will return to this particular location. I brought my kids for a fun experience being able to order by phone. That didn't happen.

I did get to the store about 8:05 PM. I believe they're open till 9 PM on weekdays. So I would say that it is on the later side and the quality and service showed it. I want to say that took the food about 25 minutes to get out. They didn't have half the order ready and what was ready was cold. It wasn't rocket science and what I ordered. I ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup, a cup of chili, and a kids cheeseburger. The french fries were actually made the day prior they were freezing and disgusting. They had to bring out to me the cup of chili because that wasn't ready not sure how that happens. And with the girl kept calling a medium-sized cheese fry they actually placed our order on someone else's tray so which had been sitting there also for quite A long time also. My advice don't go here.

I've been to the training table several times in the past. There food is always good. The cheese fries are incredible. But... This location wasn't my favorite. Many tables had phones that were out of order or seats with holes in them. The bad part were these tables were the only clean ones. The rest had crumbs or fry sauce smudges on them. This greatly limited the seating options. I watched group after group come through and do the same thing I did - go to sit down then see it's dirty. On to the next - that one had a hole in the seat... That ones phone is busted. The floors were dirty and needed to be vacuumed. Where were the employees to clean everything? They were all behind the counter talking and laughing. One person was working (the "cook"). The other three were just standing around. I definitely suggest going to eat at the training table for their food. Just not this location. Disappointed

Training Table is going downhill. We haven't been to a Training Table in a while but we love their cheese fries and dip and a lot of their sandwiches, however they have recently changed the menu, pricing and portions of their food. The sandwiches seem smaller in size and content and their cheese fries just aren't the same (sizes, prices and quality). If this is the new Training Table I'm seriously going to have to think twice about eating there again. Also, what is up with convenience store bathrooms??? Please get a cleaning/maintenance crew in there and fix the problem. Management, if you can't see what the problem is, then I fear you're the problem.

Used to love this place. Seems that either the quality went down our maybe it's that they never evolved since I've been going here so long. I will always have a place in my heart for you training table. Doesn't seem as clean anymore either.

This is a message to all the haters out there: please stop hating. Please disregard all the other reviews of this establishment (except for the other five star reviews). Please eat here. Please. If this place goes away, I just don't know what I'll do. I love the Training Table. It's a part of me. Please don't kill a part of me.

I have a friend who is madly in love with cheese fries. I'm trying to cut back, so I've stopped eating them. After going to Iggy's 1479754982 times for their cheese fries, I flat out refuse to go back. My friend threw a fit insisting that he NEEDED cheese fries. We met in the middle and ended up at Training Table. He got his precious cheese fries with the sauce, and loved it. I ordered a grilled cheese. They either need smaller slices of bread, or bigger slices of cheese. The crust to cheese ratio was horrific. It was too salty for my taste, and I LOVE salt. Is anyone else grossed out about the way they serve water? It would be incredibly easy to poison those cups. NOT THAT I WOULD. I don't think I'll be back.

Absolute worst restaurant I've ever been to. This was my first time visiting it. I go in and there is nobody to great you. So we stand around for a few minutes and finally a customers tells us we just sit down. Interesting that there is no instructions at all anywhere about this We order our food and the phone rang for one minute though there were five people at the counter in the back standing around. You pay extra for fry sauce and they don't even mix it for you. We had no water while we waited Arty all. When we ordered they didn't tell us we could go in the back and get our own water. Finally got our food, I got the chili verde burger and I had no idea it would be completely smothered in it. It looked absolutely disgusting and tasted even worse. Oh and the fries? No flavor whatsoever. Any fast food restaurant has better and more flavorful fries. I was extremely disappointed. We won't be going back ever. Horrible service, horrible food, and they nickle and dime you. Oh and did I mention the random old time pictures on the walls? This restaurant is looking for an identity and is completely lost. Oh, I also forgot to mention the unsanitary ordering process. Holding a gross public phone to your mouth/ear? Disgusting....

This is a Utah classic. Like they say on their menu, the Blue Bacon Burger is the one that made them famous. They are not exaggerating. It is one of my favorite burgers anywhere. The cheese fries are also amazing - just make sure you pair them up with the dipping sauce. Training Table utilizes an interesting ordering and pick-up method - you order using a phone at your table. When your food is ready, the phone rings you back. You then go up to the counter, pay and take your food back to your table. Don't expect great service because there really isn't any.

I try to stop by the training table every time I'm in Utah. I've been to several locations and this one seems to be the newest. I like the way you order. Each table has a phone and when you are ready ,you pick it up and it connects you to the person at the register who then takes your order. I have never seen this system at any other restaurant. The blue cheese burger is really good, way better than JCW's and you have to get the cheese fries with dipping sauce. The onion rings are also a good choice. Liked this place since I was a kid, sad to hear the Provo location closed.

I debated over two or three stars for this review. I love that the Training Table is locally owned and operated and has been around since the 70's. This alone brought this review to three stars. I ate here last night with my wife. I had the Pastrami Burger, my wife had the Bacon Burger. We split a medium order of cheese fries. I haven't eaten at a Training Table in a few years. In that time, Utah has been spoiled with a number of outstanding burger places, some locally owned, some national chains. I don't know if the quality of the patties has changed or if I've just been introduced to better beef. The patty on my burger had next to no flavor and looked to have been frozen. Very disappointing. Our cheese fries were delicious, but for $4.25, plus another $.55 for dipping sauce, the portion size was very, very disappointing. I thought they had mistaken our order for a small. The restaurant decor was very tired and mundane. Not a deal breaker, but worth mentioning. Overall, the value and food quality is just lacking, especially compared to some competitors located nearby.

I went back. The food was good and warm. The phone at my table sounded all garbled though so I suspect they're all still not in good working order, which is the way you order your food so that's not good.

I love the food here....but.... I'm a little surprised to read how many reviews have already mentioned the lack of maintenance/ upkeep in this Training Table outlet, and yet, nothing seems to have been done about any of the issues. Shockingly, most of the benches around where I was seated still had large gashes. Come on guys, at least use a little duct tape! The silverware was filthy (see photos). The crew were all huddled around the cash register with (seemingly) nothing to do. Several months ago I reviewed the Highland Drive location, which has been upgraded, and now has employees greet customers at the door and check if they need water and the like. That doesn't happen here. The contrast between the two locations is very noticeable. I hope they'll address some of their current issues, because I love their burgers and food (what amazing dipping sauce!) and it would be a shame if they went out of business.

I've been a die hard Training Table fan since I was a little girl, but I was disappointed in this location. I had the Ranch Burger and something just tasted off with it. I decided to stop because I didn't want to take the chance of getting sick. The cheese fries carry this review as I almost always just get a plate of them as my meal. I think this location needs to pay more attention to food preparation and presentation but I'll still totally come back for the delicious cheese fries.
