My husband and I got takeout from Thai Village the other night and were HIGHLY disappointed at the quality, quantity, and taste of food. We've eaten there a time or two before and it wasn't terrible, but definitely not the best Thai food in UT. The Pad Thai tasted like it was made two days before and the portion size was half the size we got last time we ate there and they forgot to include the shrimp that the noodle dish traditionally comes with. My husbands Massaman curry was completely watered down and flavorless. Not to mention they replaced the peanuts in the dish with soft cashews. The chicken satay peanut sauce was broken/separated and had a burnt flavor. All in all, it was a terrible experience and we will no longer be eating there. If you want good Thai food in UT, Chanon Thai on 900 south in SLC is the only way to go.

Pretty good thai place. I like the spicy noodles and the pad thai lunch specials. They're pretty cheap and come with enough to fill you up for sure. It's kinda slow service. The food takes a while to come out, but at least its fresh. 4.5 stars feels right.

We came here because friends recommended it. Maybe we came here with high expectations? The service was not very good. They were friendly but were slow about coming around to see how we were doing. I wanted dessert after my meal but they took forever to get around and when they did they brought us a check. The flavor was ok, I ordered the Thai spicy noodles, it wasn't that spicy to me. The location is good and the price is good, we just wanted more I think.

Best yellow curry in Utah. Fried spring rolls are also a must-order. Chicken satay was disappointing, but that is the only thing I don't like. The family that runs this restaurant it great. They don't discriminate against students, and that's nice. Great curry, late hours and friendly staff make this one of my favorite places in Provo.

Thai Village is fantastic. The Thai family that owns this restaurant started with a single location in American Fork. This first location was so successful that they opened a Provo location. I can't say enough good about their curry. If you are new to this place, I recommend the Massaman Curry, but really you will be very happy with any one of their many curries (Pumpkin, Pineapple, Yellow, Green, etc.) The Pad Thai is great as well. I am fairly price sensitive, so I love if I can catch their lunch special. I highly recommend this place, I've never been disappointed.

I really like Thai Village for 3 main reasons: Chill Environment Cheap Prices for good portions Fast Service I would definitely recommend the different curries (my favorite is the green one). The pad thai is good, yet a bit greasy at times, but totally under control. They have good lunch deals, and everyone is nice and cordial, making sure you always have your drink refilled. Perfect place to take a big group out of nowhere, and try new thai items. It's a safe one without after math complications (if you know what I mean). funky tip: the music they play is definitely not thai, but it makes it i guess more contemporary/chill, so I personally like it, even if it threw me off the first time.

I only tried the curry but it was pretty good

Good for the price. Is it the best Thai food around? No. But you're paying less than $10 for most menu items, so you can't complain. The servers are friendly and attentive and the food comes out relatively fast. I always leave satisfied.

Soooooooo good! Pad Thai was very good and so was the yellow curry. Delish. I'm craving it right now!!

This Thai Village restaurant is owned by the same family that owns and operates the one in American Fork. This location in Provo is really good. it is very close to all the student housing and so I expect their target customers to be BYU students. That being said, their prices are just right for what a BYU student would be willing to pay. The decor is a mix of contemporary with traditional Thai. It is quite relaxing and there are plenty of tables in the restaurant. The place wasn't very busy for a Saturday when I went, but that could be because this is a new restaurant. I hope word spreads of this place because the food is qutie good. I ordered the Yellow Curry with Pad Se-ew. The Yellow curry wasn't as spicy as I would like, but it wasn't bland either. It was still quite flavorful and as authentic to the curry I've had in Thailand, but not as good of course :P The vegetables in the Pad Se-ew were well cooked and the dish was overall very tasty. On a side note, the Jasmine rice was cooked to perfection and I could eat it up by itself if need be. Overall, not the best Thai food I've had, but one of the better Thai restaurants in the Provo/Orem area.

Food is bad, service is worse! I can't believe I even tipped the girl, the whole time I was there, she never asked once how's everything. And when I was leaving, she just looked at me cold and not saying anything. Will def not go back ever!

I come here for lunch dates more often than I should. Haha. It's probably my favorite Thai place in the area. I love the curries, and the Thai basil chicken, but haven't enjoyed the other dishes as much. The pineapple curry is my favorite. My dates usually rave about the pumpkin curry, which I like as well, but not as much as the pineapple. The lunch specials are a really good deal too.

Not bad but not great either. Been here for three months and still looking for my go-to thai place.

The red curry has a nice consistency. The vegetables were fresh and crisp, served piping hot! Glasses were never empty. Owner was the chef. Nice outdoor seating, solid teak tables and chairs with umbrellas. Great services. Beautifully remodeled from the former Lon's BBQ.

Love this littleThai restaurant. Their lunch special is a GREAT price!! I definitely recommend their masoman (sp?) curry. Usually not busy at all, so, no need to make reservations.

For a local Thai food place in Provo, this place rules. I get the Masaman Curry during their lunch special hours, and it is fantastic. A big bowl of curry, a nice scoop of rice, a spring roll, small salad, and a wonton chip all for 6.95. Killer deal. I recommend this place to all my friends and we haven't been let down. Go for lunch, it's so good and so cheap.

Great food! Bad service, not friendly what so ever. Nice ambiance. Our waiter was super rude and same with the bus girl. We had pad Thai and pad see ew which were both on point, well priced, and good sized portions, not huge but not tiny.

I am a Thai fiend. I've tried a lot of the Thai restaurants in Provo and Orem (Thai Drift, Thai Mango-my personal favorite, Bangkok Grill, Spicy Thai, Thai Evergreen) and I'd have to say that Thai Village was pretty comparable both in flavor and price to its local competitors. I went with a group of friends, one of which spent two years of his life in Thailand, so it's always good to hear his opinion on whether dishes are good and authentic. The dish that absolutely stood out to me was the Pumpkin curry. I have NEVER had more delicious Pumpkin curry in my life! If you're stuck between the Pumpkin curry and the Massaman, get the Pumpkin. Massaman was decent, but I prefer it at Thai Mango. I did not try the Pineapple curry, but I plan to go back to get their lunch special sometime (salad, spring roll, steamed rice, and your choice of meat and dish--a steal at $6.95). Also worth mentioning--which came in at a very close second--was their Pad Thai. In my opinion, it is really difficult to get the right blend of flavors, all while wetting the noodles enough that they're not too dry, but also not just slathered in sauce. Thai Village got it right. The flavor was superb and in my opinion they had the perfect amount of sauce. It was a hit with our group of friends. We also had the Papaya Salad and Labb. I personally do not like papaya at all, but the papaya in this salad is green and firm. I rather liked the blend and was pleased to try something new. I also thought the Labb had great flavor to it, but my friend who lived in Thailand said it wasn't that good according to Thai standards. The reason I'm only giving Thai Village 3 stars is because they charge $2 for sticky rice. I know it's not traditional, but I HAVE to have sticky rice with my curry. At Thai Mango, you can actually choose between sticky rice and steamed rice with no price difference. And I honestly would be willing to pay for sticky rice if it was $1, but $2 just seemed excessive to me. All in all, if you like Thai food, or even if you don't but you'd like to try it, Thai Village is a good place to go. It is a little pricier--as all Thai restaurants are. Expect dinner to be about $20 for two people, if you stick to two entrees and water.

Really good Thai! Loved this place and will come again for sure. I would rate it five stars, but I'm not sure it stood out that far above the other good Thai restaurants.

Have been here several times. It's a fairly good Thai place for Utah Co. Curries are good as well as some of the noodle dishes. Will return

Since I work part-time at a Thai restaurant (I won't say where), I have been exploring how different restaurants cook their Thai dishes. At Thai Village, they have a special that is priced at about $6.95 that includes a cup of rice, your choice of a lunch-sized entree (noodle dishes don't include rice), a bowl of miso soup, a small bowl of salad with sesame dressing, and a fried wonton. I had the massaman curry and tasted my sister's pad thai. I enjoyed the massaman curry but the pad thai was not something to go crazy about. So far, I have had the pad thai at Thai Village, Thai Kitchen and Thai Lotus (in SLC). And the pad thai at Thai Kitchen is probably the best so far. The curry I've tasted at the locations taste pretty much similar. The rice was good quality because they weren't any noticeable burnt pieces balled onto my plate, like other restaurants I've noticed who look as if they've scraped the last of the rice in the cooker. I also enjoyed the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant. The tables were nice dark marble and steady..basically more modern. I intend on returning. The service was pretty good too. This is a family owned restaurant, and the young man who served us didn't seem rushed, but handled himself very well (he was serving 4+ tables when we were there) We didn't wait long to get our food or our drinks refilled. It was very good service. Probably the best we've received at Thai restaurants so far.

I honestly have never had better Thai food then what I found at the Thai Village. Upon walking in you instantly are pounded in the face with a wave of different smells. Smells that would make a grown man cry and a baby stop crying because of the perfectness of the aurora. You are given just the right amount of time to talk to your date before the food is brought to your table. Then silence falls upon the dishes. You cannot talk because the your meal is melting down your throat and all you can manage to mumble is "oh my goodness." I don't know what real Thai food is supposed to taste like, but if it is anything like what you will experience here, buy me a plane. I have gotten the Beef Curry every time I go and I weep with every tender mouthful. It is a slow process but I would imagine that even gods have to savor bites of food like this as well. I highly recommend this to everyone who loves quality and quantity.

I don't know much about Thai food so the recommendations on Yelp were very helpful. I was extremely impressed with both the service and wonderful flavors of Thai food. In fact, I was so impressed that I asked to meet the cook to offer my compliments. Husband and wife team with their sweet young daughter as the cashier. Never had pumpkin in anything but pie but what ever they callhat dish make sure you order it. Sounded different and so incredibly tasty. We are from out of State visiting our son. Will definitely be back on the next trip.

In a nutshell: Quiet, friendly staff, fast service, good food This place recently opened down the street from my house and I knew I was in trouble. Thai food is perhaps one of the things I'm known to crazy most. My husband and I stopped in just after it opened and were pleased with the service we recieved. The business is family owned and operated and we had a nice conversation with our waitress who was happy to teach us about the culture in Thailand. I ordered the pumpkin curry and it was alright...I discovered that I don't like pumpkin as much as I thought I did. =P My husband ordered the cashew chicken and I ended up eating more of that. The second time we went, I was careful to order something a little more mainstream and got the masaman curry. My husband ordered the thai basil chicken. Both were delicious. My husband likes his curry a little more spicy than what is typically served and they were happy to bring a bottle of spices to the table so he could flavor his to taste. We've been back two more times now, each time ordering something different and always being pleased with our choices. The staff is attentive and friendly and we never have to wait long for our food. The price is about average for thai restaurants around the valley, curry being about 9 dollars. The decor is simple but has many touches of thai culture and the atmosphere is relaxing. We never feel rushed when we come here. The only complaint I have is that it is rather dimly lit. Not enough to strain your eyes, but its still pretty dim. when you visit, expect to order several things and share amongst yourselves as you would at any asian restaurant. The food is just better that way, plus you get to try more things at once. I haven't been here for lunch but I know they have a lunch menu and I frequently see many people here for lunch when I drive by. You CAN get away with under 10 dollars but if you order anything besides just a main dish, expect it to be about 15 dollars for your meal. They accept credit cards but be warned that they only accept visa and mastercard, so if you have a discover or am-ex don't bother pulling it out.

Doesn't compare to Thai food in CA, but staff was friendly. Too much soy sauce on my noodles...not a big fan of saltiness I can't control. This place is ok...might try other dishes some day.

So far my wife and I perfer the the Thai Village in AF. We were not treated friendly by the staff, at all. We might give Provo another chance, but we'll probably stick with AF. Food is good though.

I am new to Thai food and I wanted to try something that sounded familiar so I got Sweet and Sour Chicken. I read the description and it seemed ok. It was not something I would ever get again. The pieces of chicken were too big and too hard to bite into with no knives in sight. There were tomatoes in the sauce which was weird. After it cooled down a bit it tasted a little like tomato sauce. The description said it contained cucumbers...well, I don't call sweet butter pickles cucumbers. I swear that's what it was. Funky. My friend got the Cashew Chicken. The taste was fine but it was so salty that if it wasn't mixed with rice it was hard to eat. I did however enjoy the cream cheese wontons. They were perfectly cooked and the dipping sauce was also tasty. I wasn't sure I was going to like the extra vegetables in it but they were finely sliced and it was a nice ratio of ingredients. I'm willing to try other dishes. At least I know of one thing I will enjoy.

Sorry we couldn't rave about this restaurant, we really wanted to. We both ordered a curry dish, one yellow and one red. We couldn't eat more than half of our food. The flavors and taste were there at the start, but the food was too rich. We ended up feeling sick afterwards. Do not get the appetizer with chicken and peas in it. It tastes like a pot pie. And they give you regular old fry sauce to dip it in. Fry sauce is mayonnaise and ketchup. Really? In a Thai restaurant? And our server did not stop by our table to check on the food after it was delivered. We won't be returning.

    (2)
  • Valerie C.

Service was quick and friendly, the coconut soup was very good, Spring rolls were fine, we did wish that we got one of the standards like pad Thai or massaman curry, my husband had the spicy noodles and was not super impressed. We heard good things and would try it again but stick to the regulars we know we like.

  • Dallas M.

A coworker and I ate here today since it just just down the road from our office and we both left with no intentions of returning. When we walked in, there were plenty of open tables and it did not appear that they were understaffed. After over ten minutes of waiting around to be seated, we were ready to leave. We finally got to our table and it was another fifteen minutes before anyone acknowledged that we had not been helped. We ordered our food and it came out quickly and tasted very good as it usually does. Unfortunately we finished our meals without drinks since a server never came back to check how the meal was or if we needed refills.

Great place to go for a cheap sit-down lunch. I ended up only spending nine bucks (including tip) for a lunch entree and a water. I got the Pineapple Curry, which came with rice and a small salad. Sure, it's not the best Thai in the world, but considering its price, it's a steal for what you end up getting. So yes ladies n' gentlemen, I would indeed say the food was tasty! Also, the atmosphere was decent: nothing to gawk at nor anything that would make you wish you were blind. We were also waited on promptly with welcoming severs, and the food came afterwards quite swiftly.

  • Lan T.

I rated one star because this is the minimum that I had to rate to put this rating in. The food is aweful. When we complained, the lady who looked like the owner did not happy when we complained. It was too salty that a human cannot eat. That lady raised her eyebrows when we called her and complained.

Thai Village has been so good to me. There's nothing quite like their masaman curry on a cold or even hot day. And you can't beat their prices, especially that lunch special! If you like spicy, then try the beef waterfall salad. The meat was SO tender.

    (4)
  • Jay W.

Great food and good service. My favorite here is the Masaaman Curry. I lived in Thailand for a few years so I'm picky about the Thai food I eat. I also love the sweet and sour and the larb salad with minced pork.

I just walked out of this place and the food was DELICIOUS! Everything we ordered was super good! The lunch special prices were very reasonable and you get generous portions. Masaman curry was my favorite. We also had the thai village fried rice with chicken and the sweet and sour chicken. Service was great and fast. Definitely will come again :)

What I really like about this place is that the building, outside is nondescript and blends in with the Provo area in which it resides, inside shows clearly that the owners are all-in. They've covered everything, including the ceiling. I love that attention to detail and when we were seated with a window looking out onto University, I loved it more, even though much of it was staring at the Banana place across the street. There are lot of cool historical Thai touches inside and outside as well. Food here is somewhat Americanized, but overall very well done. This is another place truly in love with onions, as they appear on almost everything in the menu and of the seafood I got, only the scant few shrimp I got were actually the seafood as listed. The rest was substitutions. The sauce was a bit of a phone-in, but the vegetables, rice and meat was overall cooked pretty well. Green tea was excellent and service was fine also. The place is very low cost, comparatively and if I lived here, I'd probably go more often, at least for lunch. It did seem pretty popular. All in all, while this is not a destination restaurant or competition for the higher end Thai in Salt Lake, it was still solid and adds one more to the long list exemplifying the ideal that in 20+ years, I have never had bad Thai food in Utah.

If I could eat lunch here everyday I probably would. Fast and delicious lunch specials which are very reasonably priced. My personal favorites are Red Curry w/ Beef or the Spicy Green Beans w/Chicken.

Beware the spice level. We ordered 3 dishes with spice level 2,3 & 4 respectively. We got them all at the same level, I'd guess about 4. Service was kinda slow despite the fact that they were not operating at full capacity. For those of us who could handle spice, the good was good.

I ate at this place with a few girlfriends and it was good! It wasn't my favorite Thai place, but what I had was really good. I had the: Spring Rolls Fresh Rolls Cream Cheese Wonton and the Red Curry with Chicken. All very good!! They had good service and it was fast as well.

We were the only people in this place besides a small family. We had been sitting there for 15 minutes and they literally took the orders of 4 tables right as the people walked in and sat down 10 minutes after we got here and neglected us until everyone else had their food. BAAAAAD BAAAAAAAAAAAAA BAAD AABAANA BDAAAAD....ahem, bad service

The food was fantastic. I really liked their Tom Kai coconut soup. It seriously was the best I have had lately. The Penang curry was also great Service is busy for lunch. Plan accordingly. Prices were more than reasonable.

Really really good. The massaman curry is perfect. And they always add extra carrots and potatoes for me. I eat here like once a week. The spring rolls are a little weak, but that's the only negative I can think of.

What a GREAT place for a lunch date! Seriously so good! I have a different Thai place that is my go-to for Thai 98% of the time, but when I am in the area or meeting up with some friends I always go here. It's super decently priced and the lunch special is incredibly filling. A salad, a bowl of rice, and some massaman curry is honestly the greatest lunch any person could ask for. The atmosphere is great and it's never been over the top busy. The service is fast and the waiters and waitresses are skilled, speedy, and kind. The lunch special is the biggest draw for me, considering it's crazy cheap and ridiculously delicious.

The red curry lunch special ($7.99) was just the right amount of food and had the just the right amount of spice. The dining area is far from fancy but clean and comfortable.

The restaurant's design is great! Dimmed lights and unique art pieces Started out the meal with the tom kha gai (chicken coconut soup) which I was told was one of their most popular soups. I can see why!! Sweet, sour, spicy, and something I could probably have for days on end. Tried their pad thai and pumpkin curry-- also very delicious!

    (5)
  • Sam M.

I can vouch for most of the stuff on the menu, but I love the masseman curry here. Especially if you get the lunch special (it's only 6.99!) The service is always good. The ambiance is above average. I find myself here very frequently.

For Americanized Thai food this place rocks! They have a diverse and filling gluten free menu and anything can be veg if u want it. My waitress was helpful and kind. While i was waiting for my order, There was a family of Asians at a table across from me and I heard one of them say that they finally were able to enjoy a meal. That really gave me hope as I am a hopelessly picky eater! The food has to be good or I can't eat it. I only withhold the fifth star as it is Americanized. This place is awesome. I had pumpkin curry and Tom kha Gai. Both were well made and delicious.

So, this is a former KFC. But, you'd never know it from the inside of this place. It's completely remodeled and redecorated and somewhat comfortable. They have booths and tables; it's a small dining area. Not constrictively so, but cozy. Service was prompt and generally friendly, despite it being confusing at times. We sat, were both interested in the lunch special; pineapple chicken curry for me, and Spicy Pad Ped for Hubby. Their menu clearly states that lunch specials come with a Spring Roll, but it doesn't state fried or fresh. So I asked. "Fried," she says. I ask if I can please get fresh rolls rather than fried, because they're the same price on the menu. She explained that they really try to only substitute for "special circumstances." Like...??? Some time later she answered "Oh, like if you were allergic..." (To, fry oil?) Oh, I see. Okay then, I'm allergic. Please bring me fresh rolls that I'm sorry to have to spare you the additional step of frying up for me - or should I assume they've been fried long ago, and are now lounging somewhere in your kitchen under a warmer awaiting future unsuspecting lunch special orderees? She said she'd see what she could do... The food was surprisingly good. Well, mine was. Hubby's Pad Ped was far from spicy; in fact, it was far from flavorful, or good, really. He tried my Pineapple Curry, and had a bad case of order envy. It was quite tasty, but really could have used a bit more chicken. It had adequate amounts of veggies, pineapple, and yummy sauce; just not enough meat. And I'm happy to report they did the right thing, and sent it all out with fresh spring rolls. They were good, too. The lunch portion sizes are large, and we could barely finish it all. I though it was odd that their lunch specials come with a side salad. In a cup. It was weird. They have a medium sized dinner menu, with several commonly seen offerings, plus a few I've never seen before. I gotta hand it to whoever had the idea that a meager little KFC joint could be transformed into this. I'm a fan.

The curry here is great. We've had the Green and Masaman curries here and love them. The Pad Thai tastes like ketchup, don't get it. Don't expect a refill on your drink. Overall, marginal service but great tasting curry.

Waited 20 minutes to order, we were the only table occupied and walked out without any service. Nobody even acknowledged our presence or the fact that we were leaving before ordering. The waitress spent 5 minutes talking to classmates when they walked in knowing we were waiting.

I normally am not a fan of curry. But the Massaman was good. It had a lot of the tamarind flavor, and it had a thick texture - not watery. The Thai Village fried rice was also good. It had a different flavor that we couldn't quite identify. The papaya salad was really good, but not spicy even though we added for lvl 5. I thought that overall, portions could be a little bigger. I also dislike that they only allow one refill per drink. To me, that's cheap.

I WAS a regular but as of last night I refuse to step inside anymore. It started with me asking for a to go order. I ordered the Pad Sew Ew and the Laab Salad. I specifically asked for the ground chicken with extra lettuce in my salad. My husband came home and I opened the box and it was cut up chicken. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal for me. However I am currently pregnant and eating meat disgust me. Hence why i asked for the ground chicken. Called them back and said hey i had asked for ground chicken and got cut up chicken no big deal but can I come and exchange it. They said yea just to bring the old one back and before hanging up I reminded them of the extra lettuce. So 15 minutes later I receive my new Laab salad and take it home. I opened the box and there was NO LETTUCE. So I called back and asked for the manager and told him that they got my order wrong again. He told me he would refund my money and next time I come in my meal is on them. They didn't want to resolve my issue at the current time. So I said i want my refund tonight and there better be lettuce there when I pick up my money. I get there and the manager comes out. I told him politely that I am a manager at a restaurant and if someone called me saying we have messed up their meal i would make sure everything was right the second time. He tried quieting me down and said i have already given you a refund and we don't even charge for extra lettuce. I expected that I got charged because I asked for it... So it's not my problem that they didn't charge me. He was not apologetic as if I have inconvenienced him... when I PAID them to make my dinner. Thai village was always convenient since its 2 minutes away from me. Ill drive 10 minutes for better food and service. I will never recommend anyone here nor will my husband take people here when he has his business dinners. Thai village you have lost a customer.

The owner who rung me up charged me less and I pointed it out, trying to do him a favor, and he said he was just guessing because he couldn't read the receipt??? I asked him if he had glasses and he said he didn't like wearing them??? That is seriously unprofessional for the OWNER of an establishment. As for the food, I am really not that picky...but I could not finish the curry even though I was starving...it was that bad. The one good thing is that I did get a lot of curry, probably more than I expected. But no good if the taste is awful.

I went here a couple days ago with some friends for the first time. It was amazing!! I got Thai basil chicken which was suggested by the waitress was really good! A bit spicy which is just the right amount with still a lot of flavor. The only thing that was a little bit weird was the chicken was completely ground. The waitress was soo nice too! She filled up our water when it was empty and was so helpful. A great experience!

Great Thai food, the customer service could have been a little better, no one checked on us to ask how our meal was!
