If you like Thai food you will love this restaurant. The prices are unbelievably affordable. The food is very tasty. The Decore excellent. And, the flavor is outstanding. The staff is friendly. So, if you are looking for Thai food, you must check this place out! Yummy food.

If you are going for good Thai food, this place does great as the food tasted great. the problem is that the service is so mediocre that it ruins the excellence of the food. There were only a few people in the restaurant when I went there, so I figured the service would be great. I was wrong. Again the food was very good though. I had the coconut soup, some sort of noodle and of course the gyoza. There wasn't one thing that I wouldn't eat again.

This was our first and only experience with Thai food. After checking yelp before we went, we chose a few recommended dishes. We got the papaya salad. Omigosh it was delicious. I am still craving more three days later. The Pan Thai was delicious and probably our favorite main course. We tried many dishes because there was six of us and we all shared what we ordered. One guy got sweet and sour chicken. It was so good. For dessert we got coconut mango rice (or something like that.) We gobbled it up so quick. It was light and refreshing and the prefect dessert. The servers were friendly and helpful with the menu. Our water and soda's were kept full. The place is nice and clean. We went at 5:00 on a Saturday night and it wasn't very busy yet. But come about 6:00, the place was getting full. We'll go back.

I first came to Spicy Thai because it was recommended to me by several people. My first impressions upon walking in were that the place is very clean, and had a good look to it, nothing fancy. First off, the pad thai is phenomenal. Most pad thai's are cooked with fish oil and have a fishy taste to it, this didn't at all which is more to my liking. The Masman curry was bursting with flavor with the perfect amount of spice. Pineapple red was also a favorite at our table. I've been to Spicy Thai countless times since my first time, and it never disappoints. They also have quite a few Chinese dishes, the orange chicken is good and the fried rice is yummy. It's consistent, budget friendly, and good service.

Don't be scared of the name because the Papaya salad is both fresh and delicious. I added shrimp to mine and left the joint feeling full but not disgustingly full. And if you like sweet tea, the Thai Tea is for you. Experiment and leave your comfort zone when visiting Spicy Thai. It's more likely than not you'll be glad you did.

This restaurant has become a staple for my family. I feel like we come here once a week. The lunch special is the best option in my opinion (a little less than 7 dollars). I usually get the Masman curry, tom ka soup, and a satay and walk away more than satisfied. Try it!

Gross food and terrible service. I ordered tofu and veggies - turned out not vegetarian. I would definitely avoid this place.

When hiking, it's important to prepare yourself with energy for the journey. As such, some friends and I decided to hit up Spicy Thai on our way to Aspen Grove (it's right on the way along University Ave.). That said, I've only been here once, but two of my accompanying friends have been here multiple times. Now, this rainy afternoon, we decided to order large lunches and Spicy Thai certainly delivered. The portions were affordable and generous. The food was also pretty good, though on the sweeter side (which isn't unusual for SE Asian food in Utah County - or most anywhere in the US). If you're looking for "authentic" then you'll probably be disappointed, but if you want some decent Asian-American fare, then don't hesitate to give it a try. While our subsequent climb up the mountain (in our car) proved a slippery, dangerous slope, our service here was nowhere near so dire. While nothing too special, it was not too poor either. Really, I struggle to remember anything notable about the service good or bad, not like that mountain at all... Ambiance was also pretty bland, but hey, it was a pit stop to fuel up and head out. It felt pretty generic: dark furniture, white walls with some art. Thus, there was little character, and little to really make this place stand out. (I see pictures of a painting and an elephant...but I just don't recall those) Overall, despite the neutrality of most of my experience, the food was the focus, and that was A-OK, which equals three stars J

The masman curry was super watery tonight. Don't go close to closing time, the quality suffers.

This is the best Thai food in Provo/Orem area - don't let anyone tell you differently. I'm always disappointed going to other place because it's not nearly as good as Spicy Thai. Their spice levels are legit, they have a lot of less traditional foods for those who may not like Thai (their fried rice is incredible), but also amazing traditional foods. I do NOT recommend their Pad Thai, but I love everything else I have tried there. The cheap prices make it easy to come back often for their delicious food.
(5)Rona L.
Not bad for a small Thai restaurant. Had their pad see-ew noodle dish and mango sticky rice for dessert. Ankor Curry was not bad either.
(4)Tosh M.
Great bang for your buck. I also like how they will customize dishes for you, I'm currently avoiding sugar and they were very helpful in serving me dishes which had no sugar added. My favorite dish is Chicken Pad Thai
(4)Zach M.
DELICIOUS CURRY!!! I love the Pumpkin Curry, and the Masaman, but my favorite is hands down the Spicy Thai Specialty!
(5)Greg C.
Real Thai chef that's from Thailand!! Don't expect Chinese food haha that's what a lot of those bad reviews are because they don't really know what Thai is, being Thai myself it's pretty dang close to the real thing. Always order a curry, stir fry or noodle, ask the servers what are the best they will tell you, you won't be disappointed.

5 * very amazing green curry soup, but lose a * for charging for brown rice. I ordered the green curry entree with chicken. I was surprised to find out that my entree (which was not listed in the soup section) was a soup. Delicious, but unexpected. You get to decided your spiciness or wimpiness level of heat. I like it spicy and decided to try 3/4 spicy. It was nowhere near burning, just very enjoyable. I'll definitely be trying level 4 spicy next time. My meal ended up being $13.24, without the tip (I did tip, haha). $1.50 of that was for brown rice instead of white. Look, I know it's healthier and arguably better tasting, but it shouldn't be an extra charge because rice is cheap, plus you saved by not giving me the default white rice. Yeah, my drink added to the price, but $13.24 for a complete meal is overpriced. I would expect no more than $10.00 with tax included. The price will unfortunately limit my future returns. Vibrant Thai paintings are intriguing to look at. Thai TV running soap operas looked cool, but had no English subtitles. And watch out for the huge elephant statue hiding amid the grass, no joke!

Best Thai food I've found in Utah County, pad thai with chicken - super delicious! Sweet and sour chicken also GREAT! In the mood for thai food, go here!
(5)William W.
Been a few times and all have been good experiences so far and the prices are very cheap! The service is also very friendly whenever I have been.
(4)Troy M.
Good food and good portions. Really great for some good takeout! It took a while to get the food but the price, portion and quality of the food made it totally worth the wait.
(5)Jordon L.
I got the lunch special with basil chicken, tom yum, and egg roll. The rice was very mushy. The sauces were good. The texture of the meat was the rubbery boiled texture and the flavor was bland. The veggies seemed fresh. This wasn't the best experience I've had with Thai food by far.
(3)Vichea C.
Heard about this restaurant from my sister and glad I checked it out. The Angkor curry is pretty good.
(4)Diane L.
I enjoy eating at Spicy Thai every week. Go and try it out today. Everything is good.
(5)Casey W.
Quick review: Food is always tasty, made with quality ingredients and good portion size. The service is always on the slow side. You might expect to wait 3-5 minutes when you walk in before getting greeted. Fortunately it's rarely crowded. Our waiter sat us and immediately asked "ok, so you know what you want?" When we wanted to take some time to look at the menu, that meant we wouldn't see him for another 10 minutes (this is par for course). It's an understaffed issue I think. Either way it prevents us from coming here more than once a month.
(3)April W.
I'll admit, I haven't had "authentic" Thai food so I can't recommend this place based on that. I could care less about appearances and ambiance as the best teriyaki food I've had was in this dump of a place in Seattle. I can recommend it on the reasonable pricing and out of the three Thai places in Provo I've tried, this one tastes the best. My family and I usually get the pad thai, pad see ew, and pad kimao. Fairly decent portions, my only complaint is their star system is off. One has no spice then it jumps to two stars when compared with past restaurants I would say it's more of a three. If you're picky about star level, I would just order one star with sauce on the side.
(4)Matthew M.
Moderate quality of food but understandable with the price. Which was affordable. Service was slow but not too long. The servers were really nice. Not a life changing experience, but still a good meal.
(3)Kristy R.
Hands down the best Thai food in the county. Service is fast, food is really fresh, and it has the best flavor! I have tried almost every Thai restaurant in the county and this one is the best. It is affordable and if you eat "family style" you can try a bit of everything and still have leftovers! So good! I could eat there every day.
(5)Gregory R.
This place is a very good value. The good is good, maybe not the best Thai food in Provo, but pretty darn good especially for the price.
(4)Sean F.
Spicy Thai is always fast friendly and delicious. In my opinion, best in the Provo area. I highly recommend the pad thai, and also the specialty curry. Oh, and don't forget about the value (big servings, and cheap prices).
(4)Rod S.
I will give it more chances, but this meal ended up being Americanized Chinese food done pretty well. There only seemed to be hints of Thai. The Friday lunch special was either Pineapple Red Curry or Pad Briaw wan. I passed on the pineapple dish thinking it would be the sweet one. Then I learned Pad Briaw wan is sweet and sour Chicken. It had canned pineapple too :-( The batter fried chicken was nicely done, but the sauce was so sweet it made your teeth hurt. The saving grace was that the sour was strong too. This is what Panda Express should be! It's not what a Thai restaurant should be. My dining companion shared a little with me and it was better. The Tom Yum was pretty tasty, but even it had a sweetness I shouldn't taste. The satay --- hmmm --- nothing special. The peanut sauce -- also with sugar undertones. Far too many people like to throw "authentic" around. I don't know authentic since I've not spent any time in small villages in Thailand. I've spent time in a half dozen other nearby countries, but not Thailand. The one thing about all those other counties is that chunks of chicken and sweet sauces were completely absent. My experience in top Thai restaurants in major metropolitan areas is similar, so going with the "one of these places is not like the other", I'm willing to believe that we're seeing the Costa Vida/ Cafe Rio / Bajio ization of Thai food here. If you add enough sugar and additional salt, people will line up out the door. Finally, I was told that no matter how spicy you ask for it, it won't be very spicy. That's true. Ask for the shaker of hot spices and use it heavily if you want any heat. I will be back for a meal rather than the lunch special. Hopefully, I can move it up as least a point.
(2)Kim D.
Not good. I don't pretend to be a Thai food expert but this place is definitely not my first pick. The pad Thai tasted like ramen noodles and the beef salad had no dressings and I personally did not like the spices. The satay was the best part the chicken was bland but the peanut sauce was good. We will not be returning.
(1)Cynthia H.
You can't beat their $6 lunch special! What I LOVE here: spring rolls, pineapple fried rice, any of the curries, mango sticky rice, hot and sour soup (I forget the Thai name), and the Pad See Ew. (broccoli rice noodle dish) Great prices to match their great food. Yes, Thai Ruby in Provo is better but their prices are double, so for the price we come here waaaaay more often--especially for lunch. Kid friendly too.
(4)Brooke S.
the pad thai was so, painfully average and lacked taste completely. while the prices were nice (besides if you upgrade your rice to brown, yikes) and the portions were huge, it just didn't make up for anything.
(2)Anna B.
The food was just so-so. It wasn't gross... but it wasn't especially good either and there are LOTS of other better choices in a very close proximity. Plus the service was terrible. It took forever to get drinks... even longer to get a refill... we gave up and went over and asked for the bill. Won't be going back!
(2)L B.
Looks like a cafeteria....how about a tablecloth...but it is clean. The service was like checking off a list..."getter done" not friendly or personable. The food was "meh" I wouldn't go back for the pad thai that I had...just average.
(3)Valerie O.
My friend Di and I were supposed to go to another Thai place but we got lost, so by accident we found this little gem, tucking away in a strip mall on N. University Avenue, and we were so glad that we got lost! From outside, it really isn't much to look at, and the interior isn't either. As soon as we walked in, we exchanged a mutual feeling of uncertainty. To our surprised, the food is great and was as close to authentic, comparing the Thai food I have in Atlanta, and we were very happy. We ordered spicy thai fried rice with basil and Masman Curry with white rice, a cup of Tum Yum soup. The portion was huge and we hardly finished our lunch and we were so stuffed (mind you, I eat like a truck driver and my friend is pregnant.) The fried rice was full of flavor, I don't know how to describe it but if you ever had a good Thai fried rice dish you will know that meat was marinated perfectly and the spice was added in just right. I tried a little bit of Masman curry chicken and it was just as good! The lady who helped us is the owner's daughter, she told us that her mom came from Thailand. And just about all the customers who came in were asians. Hey, that always tells you something about the food authenticity! Definitely going back there if I come back to Provo, and I know my friend is hooked already! P.S. Don't forget to get their business card, on the back of the card it's their Buy 10 Entrees and Get 1 Free deal.

This is one of the better Thai restaurants in Utah County. The service is always prompt, friendly, and helpful. I recommend any of the yellow curry dishes, especially the pineapple. Try the noodles, too. I loved the pan fried and regular. The egg rolls are very tasty, but I like mine a bit larger and filled with more pork and cabbage. The ones at this place were more like spring rolls...which are great tasting too, I might add. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a great Thai meal at a decent price.
(4)Brittany R.
Honestly the best Thai food around. At other Thai restaurants I would stick to the noodle or stir fry dishes but these amazing curries have completely swayed me. The Panang curry is THE BEST curry I have ever had (and i try them everywhere now) and the chicken satay is absolutely delicious. If you like noodle dishes, definitely go for the pad Thai, and for stir fry, i think the Pad Prik is outstanding. Anyway you go, you are going to like what you get here!
(5)Rach B.
I love this place. It's kind of ghetto fab, but the food is ridiculously good. So if you are a snob, the atmosphere may rub you the wrong way. But I feel with Thai restaurants, the cheesier the decorations, the better the food. Their curry is fantastic. And pad thai. And everything else I have tried. Om nom nom.
(5)nick k.
Best curry in Utah county 5 out of 5, best pad Thai in Provo 4 out of 5. And excellent lunch special with massman curry $6. Good prices too. Highly recommend as I've tried all the different Thai places in Provo and Orem.
(5)C. H.
Good service. Good lunch special pricing. Good food all the way around. I have eaten here several times for lunch meetings and enjoy the flavor and food.
(4)Pernilla K.
First of all, the entrance to this mini plaza is kind of hidden. It's right off of University Ave, but the entrance to it is not on University Ave, you have to turn right then make two left turns into it. For having the name "Spicy Thai" the food was not spicy at all. I'm not one for spicy food really, but even to me the food was pretty mild. It didn't even have the slightest spark in it. I am a sucker for creamy food and ordered my usual favourite Masaman curry, which tasted good but not spicy enough. The Tom Yum soup we had was probably the best out of what we ordered, but again: could be spicier. The tip coming here would be to ask for the chef to spice it up a bit more. Service wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great or good. It was just alright. So the experience here is just pretty mediocre.
(3)Abby W.
I am always satisfied with my meals from Spicy Thai. However, the service is absolutely terrible. You wait when you walk in, you wait to order, you wait to get the food. What should be a 30 minute outing is typically two to three times that.
(3)Geo P.
Probably good Thai... But not compared to some of the other local competition. I did have some chicken here which wasn't properly cooked. But that was a year or so back. Go elsewhere if you have the extra 15 minutes.
(2)Nathan A.
The Pad Thai is the best I've had (out of the 5 Thai places I've tried in Utah). My wife loved the Angkor curry and my kids loved the fried rice and the sweet an sour. Can't wait to go again.
(4)Quinn A.
I have been to Thailand 4 times and twice while I was there I took cooking classes at the Blue Elephant, so I know what good Thai food tastes like. I've had that quality in Los Angeles at Chandara, but seldom have I had decent Thai food elsewhere. Madam Mam's in Austin, TX is particularly dire. The papaya salad there is always soggy, too sugary, and overdressed. The papaya salad at Spicy Thai today was very nice. Not too sweet, with exactly perfect unripe shredded papaya. I don't think they used the dried shrimp, but it was still good. It could have been more spicy for my tastes. We also had the Tom ka gai, again not spicy enough you gotta ask for it I guess. It was delicious, though. Love that coconut flavor. There was no lemon grass in the soup, a major oversight - and it had tomatoes which is bizarre. Still, good flavor. My green chicken curry was good but the zuke was a bit soggy. Thai vegetables should snap. All in all, I liked this restaurant and if I lived in the area I would come here again.
(4)Valerie M.
This place didn't have much ambiance and the day I went the service was slow and inattentive. The food was pretty good, not stellar but I'd go back if I knew the service would be better, and you got a good amount to eat for the price.
(3)Kristal D.
Not the best Thai in Utah, not the worst. Nothing really stood out for me. The Pad Thai was very dry which was disappointing, but the Pad Woonsen was pretty good.
(2)Caitlin H.
Love this place! Very prompt service and I love the coconut soup! I get it every time even though I can't remember the exact name of it :) I love the lunch special. Great prices and very filling
(5)Kendall C.
Outside and in, this place isn't very impressive. However, the food is amazing. The daily lunch specials are cheap and I've liked every thing I had there. Never been sick afterwards, apart from an eating too much belly-ache. Green curry, chicken sautay, and Pad Thai are my favorites. Best choice for cheap, fast thai food in Provo!
(4)Darin H.
I am not really a thai fan but I was impressed with this place. It was delicious and the quantity was a lot. Don't miss out on this place!
(4)Rick M.
This place isn't amazing but it is really good and affordable. If you live in Provo/Orem area check this place out. Most entrees are $7.99, which is hard to beat. I originally gave Spicy Thai 4 stars but I'm going to change my review to 5 stars. I went to Spicy Thai in the summer of 2010, then moved to Europe for a year (where I had lots of great Indian and Thai food). I just got back to Utah and went to Spicy Thai and it was even better than before. Seriously, if you live in Utah County, go to Spicy Thai.
(5)Doc F.
Not the best Thai in Utah County. Would recommend Thai Ruby over this place. I've never been to Thai Village so Idk how good it is, but I've heard it's good. So I ordered the Beef Pad Thai and it was disgusting... it tasted almost like the meat was rotten. The curry and other entree were good but the Pad Thai wasn't. So I tell the server the Pad Thai wasn't good and he just laughed and thought I was joking. Then I asked if I could get it taken off my bill or replaced and they said no.... I couldn't believe it!!! Will not be going there again!
(1)Eli f.
Excellent Currys, Excellent Pad Thai. Thai tea a bit weak, Pad Si Ew also weak. Overall for the price def 5 star.
(5)Erin Q.
I'm convinced I love this place. It's not much to look at. I had never even noticed it until I was taken here on a blind date the other night. While the date was not successful, this food certainly was. Spicy Thai is fairly subdued. There were some valentines decorations on the wall to accompany some pictures and "artifacts" from Thailand, and a small tv in the corner of the restaurant playing Thai Karaoke...trippy. There was just one guy helping us, and he was so sweet. I ordered the masman curry and tried to get it pretty hot. Oh my goodness, it was incredible. I've never had such good curry. I really can't even joke about this place. It was too good and extremely well priced to bash at all. I have a new favorite thai restaurant. Wait, I don't think that I ever had one to begin with. Well, now I do.
(5)Michael A.
We love Spicy Thai, it is very americanized but that is what makes it so stinking good! Their currys are always very good and we love the coconut soup. The lunch special is a great deal and you get alot of food for the money. I highly recommend!
(5)Niel B.
I stopped by for the first time to try the place out and ordered pud si ew to go. The first sign was the smell as I carried the box out, it just didn't smell quite right. Then, when I opened it, I discovered that it had cabbage, sprouts, some carrots, just two tiny pieces of broccoli, and a very thin light soy-based sauce. I think I may have tasted some garlic down at the bottom. Look, if it hasn't got fish sauce, dark sweet soy sauce, and tons of garlic, it ain't pud si ew. And what's with the cabbage and sprouts? This was more like something vaguely Viet Namese than Thai.
(1)Clogozm C.
I've been here a couple of times and both times I liked my food. It's comparable to some of the Thai places I go to in California. I wouldn't say it's the BEST thai food I've ever had but it is decent and will do in a pinch when you are looking for asian food in a town that is nothing asian. The Musaman (sp?) is decent and so is their sour soup. Their lunch specials are an awesome deal because you get soup, egg rolls, and a main dish for like $6.
(3)Taylor W.
I probably won't go back. On the good side: the atmosphere was fun. They have lots of pretty Thai-themed art on the walls and fun Thai music playing. But the food was NOT my favorite. They brought it out about 2 minutes after we ordered so I know they didn't make it fresh. And they brought it out barely warm, not hot. While there are so many other good Thai places near-by I will definitely be passing this place up next time in favor of Thai Ruby or Thai Mango, or really any place.
(1)Michael F.
Had the lunch special. It was priced very well. The food was fresh and prepared quickly. I gave it four stars just cause I didn't think the food was life changing. It's a great place for a quick lunch.
(4)
