I love coming here for breakfast on the weekends. I usually get a ham and cheese omelette, which comes with fried potatoes and is amazing. I've also had the biscuits and gravy, which I will say is not as good as the omelette. The wait staff is always friendly and the atmosphere is very nice--I like to bring a book with me and enjoy the morning when they're not too busy. I only wish they served breakfast all day! They do some days of the week but not all.

If I'm being honest, two stars is generous. We came here for dinner, which seems like it was our own mistake based on all the other reviews that seem to be for their breakfast only. We went before they moved locations so I won't comment on that, though it was a contributor to a less than positive experience. I will spare you the details and just say I WISH we liked this place. I love the idea of a family run diner. Maybe if I can erase the bad memory of our dinner here we can try the breakfast and I can change my review.

My husband and I were driving around trying to find a new place to eat when we spotted Cafe 300. I order chicken noodle soup and sad to say it was not even soup. It was just a bowl with noodles and chicken...no broth. I was disappointed because I love eating at diners and the server was super friendly.

My family had been going here for months. Always enjoyed it. Until we were asked to leave because my son with Special Needs was having a hard time. He is five years old and was crying. I was holding him, just in our booth. Not running around, not touching other people. Him being special needs is no excuse for his behavior, but to be asked to leave moments after being seated because he was crying and sad is inexcusable. Its not as though I was ignoring him or accepting his behavior. It takes time for him to calm down and I was rubbing his back, talking to him, and soothing him. Was he acting the way I wish he was in public? No. Was it enough of a reason to be given the ultimatum of having him be quiet or be removed? No. I left, so I guess they win.

Good food, great service,Love this place!!if you want a great veggie omelet, this is the place to go! Also the French toast is amazing!
(5)Taylor P.
We got there around 8:40 in the morning. The restaurant was less than half full. We ordered and sat at the table for about 30 minutes without food and finally, asked out waitress what the wait was. She made up an excuse about how the French toast takes a while (even though only one of us ordered the French toast) and that there was a bigger group before us. Two minutes later, she came back and said that there had been a "mix up" with the receipts and implied that our order hadn't even been started yet. Finally, about 25 minutes later, the majority of our table got our food. One of us had to wait another five minutes or so cause his waffle had "taken a spill". At least an hour of total wait time from the time we ordered. Pretty good food, but definitely not worth the wait.

I never bother to write reviews but I just read the one from the father of a disabled child. I eat breakfast every Saturday morning T Cafe300. I love their REAL FOOD-especially their omelettes. But I especially love the friendly personalized attention. I was at the restaurant during the episode described. It was jam packed because of BYU graduation. This child was out of control.... Screaming and throwing his socks....one which hit the owner as she walked by. She had taken the time to ask on a couple occasions if she could get the child anything like crayons or crackers and was told no. Quite frankly, I was relieved when they left. I appreciate that the owners felt responsible for the remainder of her customers and asked if the father would take the boy outside. When my grandchildren misbehave in church they go out. I believe this is common courtesy . I plan on continuing to eat here regularly.....a true Provo jewel.

14 inch diameter pancakes! !! Mmmm... But beware the $90 price tag on those pancakes. .. no wait I meant $4 for two of those bad boys.
(4)Abby W.
My husband and I used to really like coming here, but our last two experiences at their new location have been disappointing. We waited a full hour for our food, the service was really poor, and the quality and serving sizes were significantly reduced. Unsure if we'll be returning, which is too bad because this used to be our go-to breakfast place.

Norma Jean is the sweetest person you'll meet. And this diner is quite the treat. I really love going there for brunch. I absolutely love their French toast. To tell you how much I love it, let me just say that I don't like French toast but anytime I go to cafe 300, it will be the thing I order if it's before 3:00 pm (Thats when they stop serving breakfast). So, yeah. It's pretty tasty.
(5)Alexis F.
Was four stars, but the last couple times I've been the waffle was very 'sour' and the service was pretty slow. Overall I think the menu is great and the food is tasty, but they aren't super consistent. Is still give them another chance though- when done right their waffles are some of the best I've had in Utah!
(3)Krys R.
Love this place....amazing home cooked food a great family atmosphere and wonderful attentive service is what keeps us going back...
(5)Jaimie S.
I do nothing but rave about Cafe 300, old place, new place????...It really doesn't matter. They have done a great job making the transition, not an easy job to train a new staff. Since the 1st time I stepped foot in Cafe 300 I have never had an issue with any sort of wait time. I am waiting for a wonderful home cooked meal! Everything I have eaten here has been WONDERFUL. If you know anything about Cafe 300, you know that they care about you and they care about what you are being served. I can't say that about too many places. I have a group of friends that if the suggestion to go out an eat has been brought up... "Cafe 300" it is!
(5)Holly W.
I had the Eggs, Biscuit, and Gravy with Sausage meal deal. There was a enough to feed three people, but couldn't find anyone that wanted a second bite in my group of friends. The biscuit and eggs were good but everything else was gross and cold. I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews but, it didn't work out for me. I don't think I'll go back.
(1)Steven R.
I really enjoy the French toast. That's all I have had and keep choosing it. I can eat a lot but today could not finish the 4 slices it was too big. The coffee was pretty good for Provo. My buddy had also got the bacon and eggs and said they were good. On a previous occasion the cheese omelette wasn't sufficiently melted. Service today was decent but in the past fairly meh with the younger staff. Always a little slower than it like, despite being usually empty on weekday mornings. I'll keep going back, largely because if the poor lack of better options in Provo for breakfast.
(4)Denice G.
We are from California and used to some pretty fine breakfast places. We lucked out this time and found Café 300 as we were heading south on Highway 15 out of Salt Lake City. John (owner) and his family (Leah was our server) were particularly friendly and accommodating. The fun part about this place is the ambience. It looks like a diner straight out of the 50's but a bit more modern on the inside. The food was excellent. My husband ordered the corned beef hash and I had a "made to order" omelet. Leah was great about ensuring the omelet was as spicy as I wanted, and the homemade buttermilk biscuits will keep us coming back any time we are in Utah. We highly recommend this very friendly place with GREAT food! - Denice & Bobby (oohrah!)

Since we don't go to Provo very often, we didn't know which breakfast/brunch place to choose. We saw Cafe 300 on Yelp and went for it. It was good with pretty big portions, however, the service wasn't up to par. There was one waitress who had on a big hoodie and looked miserable. When we walked in we didn't really get greeted and sat right away, it took them some time to come over to us. Our waitress was nice and refilled the coffee lots, but she forgot to give us some things that we ordered and we had to ask quite a few times. Good food, but they'd have to have better service for me to come back.
(3)Clay J.
Amazing food, great service, good prices. The waitress was so great. I got the Blue Cheese Burger (add the bacon and/or avocado) it was great. Also the truffle popcorn is amazing. Will definitely go here again.
(5)Dan H.
OK, bottom line: coffee was not great. Pancakes are huge and decent (though bland), eggs and bacon were great, though the eggs portion was small. Menu is basic (I mean basic) diner fare - omelets, eggs and biscuits, pancakes and eggs. That's not necessarily a bad thing - I like being direct and honest "we do trad diner breakfasts, no BS". Cute diner atmosphere, except for the stale dishrag smell. I have a hard time getting past bad smells at a restaurant. It was less noticable once the kitchen gets going. Service was prompt, but probably because I was there spot on 7. A guy walked in asking for something off the menu (actually something he made up) and they were affable about "getting creative and whipping that up for him". "Does that sound fun?" This isn't Manhattan, where he'd be mercilessly ripped and sent packing.
(3)Robin A.
This was a great find for brunch. My made-to-order omelet was cooked just right. My side of potatoes were crispy but soft in the middle. The food is cooked fresh so takes longer but worth the wait. The service was friendly but not hover-y. A good local diner.
(5)Brittney N.
Good food but less than great service. We stumbled upon this place after realizing that our favorite Utah Valley breakfast place was closed for the holiday. We saw the mixed reviews and decided to give it a try anyway. The building looks like it use to be a Wingers, so it has that fun train car diner feel. The sign said Wait to be seated.... And we did. Wait staff passed us by without saying a word. Eventually we were sat and given menus. The place wasn't too busy (less than 1/2 full) but we struggled with the service from the time we walked in to the time we asked for our check. After ordering, our food took quite a while and with the exception of coffee refills, we found that we waited abnormally long for almost everything. As for the food.... They claimed to be famous for their French Toast and since we are about to begin a sugar /flour/grains cleanse, we figured what better way to celebrate than a giant plate of carbs dipped in carbs and covered with more carbs. We were not disappointed. For me, the sign of a truly amazing French Toast is when the batter is so good that you don't even need the syrup. This French Toast came pretty darn close (we still used all the syrup) . Don't get me wrong, it was excellent French Toast and miles above what you would get at an IHOP or Dennys. We also ordered the works omelet, which had a generous amount of cheese (which I very much appreciate), but a not so generous portion of meat. The country potatoes were crispy (huge plus) and the coffee was also pretty on point. If the service were better we would have given this place another star for sure. If you aren't in a hurry I recommend giving it a try.

Not a lot of bfast options in Provo/Orem area but cafe 300 is a must! The French toast is amazing!!Also tried an omelet; super fresh ingredients and the homefries come with a chipotle/mayo sauce similar to red robin's campfires sauce- delicious! Prepare yourself for huge portions...
(5)Nathan S.
I liked this place better the second time i went. It's got that family-run diner feel to it, which makes for a fun breakfast spot in my opinion. Nothing about it rings 'spectacular' but i did enjoy their food. My wife is picky when it comes to omelettes, and she loved their veggie omelette! There sourdough French toast is also amazing, and I really liked their house corned beef hash. I have also heard their fish and chips is fantastic as well. Definitely worth checking out, and prices seemed reasonable.
(4)Tanner M.
One of my favorite places in Provo. Fresh food. Great customer service. Interesting spins on classic breakfast and lunch dishes. Went in on a Sunday at 2:30, not realizing that they closed at 3:00, and left around 3:45 with nobody having said a word about the diner's closing time. They let us stay 45 minutes past close without rushing us or making it seem like they had been inconvenienced. Best customer service ever!! :)
(5)Tristin R.
Pros: very friendly staff, delicious food, toys and diversions for the little ones. Cons: The wait time for the food was longer than most, but the restaurant was busy and we weren't in any rush. The coffee is not good by any stretch of the imagination. We ordered the French toast and an omelette. Both were delicious, if not mind-blowing, and the portions were massive, if that sort of thing matters to you. I'd say the French toast is absolutely worth getting, and the four huge pieces could easily fill two people. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and enthusiastic. Everyone there was helpful and patient with our rambunctious toddler. It was very pleasant to be there. While the food took a little long, we were still in and out in almost exactly an hour, so it is hardly worth mentioning. I've waited much longer at less-crowded restaurants. My only real complaint is that the coffee was so terrifically bad. If they got even a mediocre espresso offering I would probably visit them weekly. As it is, I recommend them highly and suggest everyone try the French toast at least once.
(5)Sydney A.
Awesome place to go when you're hungry. Large portions and very good fresh, homemade food. Service is great and friendly. The only con is if you aren't looking for it you might drive right past it.
(5)Jim C.
Had the French toast. As good as advertised. Best split it though. Will come back next time in Provo.
(5)Nua U.
My wife was craving for corn hash and these guys delivered. The French toast was excellent. Large portions and priced well. Better than the large chain breakfast places. I read a lot about the service lacking but our service was good, food came out fast, and other than forgetting our side of biscuit and gravy, I'm glad they did coz I was full. We will definitely visit again when in Provo.
(5)Myleka W.
Here's the thing about cafe 300. You will get delicious food for a really good price and huge portions. The service is slow and the food is slow and that's ok because it's delicious. Get the onion rings. Get the french toast.
(4)Silvia P.
Terrible service. I had come here before and had a good experience (therefore the 2 stars) so I brought more people over, our server forgot our toast, the pancakes were cold, didn't get coffee refill until we asked, needed napkins and the servers kept ignoring us. It was just really bad. When we refused the toast (we were done eating and had to remind her of the toast) Manager came in very upset and said she discounted something off the bill, left the ticket on the table and said to watch our kid because he was making a mess (he's 1) and took off. Will not come back. Food is good but you can find good food anywhere, great service is not that easy to find apparently...
(2)Amanda H.
They have the best breakfast around! Huge portions, delicious food! Best omelette I have ever eaten! However, you will want to plan to wait, food is cooked to order and is not your typical breakfast joint.
(4)Erick H.
Went for lunch, and thought it was just okay. The best part was the hand-dipped Onion Rings which were crispy, tasty and juicy. I really loved them. The rest of the meal was just average. I understand their breakfasts are much better. Maybe next time I'm in town. Price was a bit high for the quality of food.
(3)Julie D.
High quality food! Good size portions but they don't skimp on the fresh items used. Great onion rings and their club sandwich was made of freshly cooked turkey and thick bacon. Just amazing for this hidden little gem of a dinner! I will come back every chance I get!
(5)Andrea T.
The food is so yummy! This is by far my favorite breakfast spot. Their omelettes are huge, French toast is awesome, and I love their hot chocolate. Their burgers are good too. I've tried the majority of their menu. The only bummer is that it takes a while to make good food. You might have to wait a bit for your food especially on Saturday mornings. But at least your know everything is really fresh! For the serving sizes and the quality of food, this place is a great value. I would definitely recommend this place. I actually already have to my friends and family.
(4)Alex S.
I DID NOT GO FOR BREAKFAST! I think they are more known for their breakfast so I will go back for that at some point. I'll be brief: Hamburger: reasonably priced and a good flavor, nothing special Trip Tip - a bit chewy, not amazing. The BBQ sauce was yummy. Onion Rings - really yummy! if you get to choose a side, choose this Ranch Beans (aka chili... just call it that team) it has a little bit of a vinegar taste, but I enjoyed it with the texas toast. Mashed Potatoes - they tasted very healthy... which is a nice way of saying, no flavor. I'm planning on a heart attack by 40 so... throw in some butter some cream, and some salt please. I reiterate I did NOT go for breakfast. But I would say, this place for dinner or lunch... is kind of a no go. I won't be going back for dinner or lunch. But breakfast... I'm intrigued.
(3)Jennie B.
While visiting my sister she took us here. Great place, great service, great staff and awesome breakfast! Get the French toast you won't regret it! Just bring someone to share it with! Only disappointment is we didn't go back for Bread Pudding I hear it is the best!
(5)S.A C.
First time visiting this diner .. What a cool place this is.. The minute we walked in we knew it was a hit.. The amount of food they serve you is insane.. I ordered the sausage eggs, gravy and biscuit breakfast .. OMG I wasn't expecting the serving to be so big.. I got MAYBE 1/4 of the way and had to throw in the towel .. Being that we're not from Provo but come out here quite often, we'll be dinning here again, our waiter was attentive and friendly as the host who sat us. Thanks for the great food and service.. We'll be back for more
(5)Mark E.
Amazing food! Loved the French toast, pancakes, chicken tenders, and everything else! The diner has a nice family feel and the staff was super friendly. I can't imagine someone not finding something they love!
(5)Jean W.
Cafe 300 is my official go-to breakfast place in Utah County. And I'm very picky about my breakfasts. I'm dumbfounded by the low-star reviews for this place. We've been a number of times now - for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - and have never had even a hint of anything under 5 stars for food or service. First, the service. To say it's friendly is simply an understatement. We've been personally taken care of by the owner herself, and a few other waitstaffers. They're all fantastic, and always caring and interested in how your food and experience is. You can tell they're genuinely intent on providing a consistently great dining experience. Now, the food. Ohhh, the food! I can't help but talk about the french toast first. It's divine - as in from heaven. Come hungry, because you won't be able to finish it all. Four huge pieces of perfection, served with your choice of eggs and meat. The french bread they use is just beautiful on its own, then they drench it in their sweet lightly-cinnamonized batter, and fry it up until it sings in perfect harmony. Honestly, you wouldn't even need syrup - it's that good. Although the french toast is number one on my 300 breakfast list, it's followed very closely by everything else on their breakfast menu. This includes their pancakes (again, HUGE), omelettes (HUGE), and breakfast meats. The bacon is very good, and they actually cook it the way you order it. I prefer well-done bacon that you can't bend before it breaks. It always comes perfectly done for me. The coffee is good. Not fantastic diner coffee, but certainly passable for a coffee snob like myself. They do a great job keeping it full if that's your desire. Lunch and dinner food here is also delicious. We've had many of their sandwiches, a couple of their burgers, and their Cobb Salad. All fantastic! For dinner, I personally love their Pork Chops. You can get any of their sandwiches, burgers and salads for dinner, too. They're now serving Prime Rib on Saturday nights, by request. Haven't tried it, but I'm betting it's a winner! I love that they're a locally-owned and operated place who take pride in what they provide. The new location is bigger and nicer. Give them a try, and I'll bet you'll be a big fan like me!
(5)Connor R.
Buttermilk biscuits are to die for. Had a turkey dinner, loved it. Great service and food. Some comfort classics! Becoming my go-to dinner and breakfast joint in Provo!
(5)Stacey J.
The service was ridiculously slow but when it finally came the French toast was the best I've ever had. Apparently I was an exception to the rule when they gave me the specialty lemon syrup, but it too was amazing!
(5)Izrael M.
First time here. We were greeted quickly the moment we came in. The only thing bad was that the food took awhile to get to us...but when we finally received it, I could tell WHY it took awhile. The food portions are BIG. And it was veryyyy good. Both me and my wife enjoyed the food! We had to take our leftovers because we were too full to finish haha not bad at all
(4)Chris C.
All I want is a good breakfast joint in Provo open on Sunday's. This is one of the only places open but unfortunately just isn't that special. The food is okay. Very large portions. I would actually trade the portion size any day for more flavor and less greasy options. Fruit would also be nice. I have had several plates and never been able to finish it. Keep trying Provo.
(3)Tiffany H.
Now that we're sitting at Olive Garden enjoying our lunch, I have found the energy to write a review. If you have a lot of time on your hands, aren't very hungry, love free coffee and like watching other people enjoying their food, this place is for you. Everyone around us that received their food, seemed to be enjoying it. After ordering, we received coffee refill after coffee refill...and kept waiting and waiting and waiting for our food. After waiting for only an hour, our server said our food was up next. 15 minutes later she delivered food to the table next to us, who arrived 30 minutes after we ordered. That was our cue to get up and leave. I'd love to be able to review the food, but we won't be going back.
(1)Alia G.
Review for Sunday afternoon As we were passing through Provo on our way to Park City... we were hungry cuz there's really nothing open (except a couple fast food places) along I-15 from Vegas.... so when we passed this little diner with an Open sign on... we stopped. Quaint little diner that looks like it's frequented by locals. Great service... real friendly. :) We got there about 2pm and they close at 3pm on Sundays. They offered us a Breakfast or Lunch menu.... it's nice to have options. :) I ordered the burger... and what's great is you get 2 sides... 2! Not 1. I got a small salad and fries. So great to be able to order 2 sides with your burger. :) Food was solid... not greasy... filling but not huge. It hit the spot. For 2 people... our bill with tax and tip was $25.
(3)Stacy L.
Great breakfast - homemade biscuits! Really enjoyed eating here. The service was good.
(5)Skip C.
Cafe 300 represents the best of American eateries. A genuine family owned establishment that carries an original, hometown feel with and the warmth of a grandma hug (they love their customers). It's not out of the ordinary to see a crew of firemen or band of friends over flowing a booth. Echoes of laughter and friendly banter always fill the place. The food is All-American, generous, fresh, and with a neat display. As a frequent restaurant goer of Provo, I would say it is the most underrated restaurant in the area. I consistently recommend it to people traveling through and I can't date a girl unless she at least appreciates the place. Best chocolate malts you will ever have in your life. The club sandwich is bomb, get it on sourdough. Explore the menu though, it will surprise you amount of options and special requests you can make. This place is famous for its breakfasts but you can find amazing food at any time of the day. They usually offer breakfast for extended periods or entire days. Come in, Norma will take care of you.
(5)Hanna P.
We LOVE cafe 300! The portion sizes are huge and we can easily split one meal between two people. We recommend the omelet, french toast but especially their homemade onion rings. Literally, my husband is obsessed with them and somehow manages to bring it up in most conversations we have with anyone. Give it a try, your life will be changed.
(5)Jay T.
The French toast here is fantastic. Extremely large portions. I enjoy the diner atmosphere, it's casual and comfortable, service has usually been great. I also had a create your own omelette that was quite tasty. I recommend this place.
(4)Ashlin T.
DELISH and AMAZING service! My coffee cup never reached half empty. Food was so fresh and had huge portions. I have found my new favorite Sunday breakfast spot!
(5)Carson R.
By far the best omelet in town! Great food, great vibe, great portions, and great workers! Highly recommended!
(5)Rod S.
I'm torn. I don't want to post anything but great things about a true family run diner. Plus, they are open on Sunday! We've been here twice recently. Some of the food has been good. Most acceptable. Some mediocre. The service is kind of all over the place. I see no reason not to come here if I'm in the area, but I won't be driving across two towns to get here for a while.
(3)Alexis M.
SO GOOD. Incredible food, incredible quality. Massive portions. Good prices. Great service. Might be in love. Will definitely be back. Also... I love cobb salads, and order them whenever possible. This one? Fantastic. They make all their own dressings in house, which is a sign of quality, in my opinion.
(5)Bethany C.
My friends and I were looking for a place to eat that would be kid friendly. All our kids are under the age of 4 so restaurants are always a big ordeal. We picked cafe 300 for breakfast because it's a DINER not Ruth's Chris. Our waitress was so nice but the old woman who I think was a manager was the meanest person on earth. My 2 year old son had dumped a little bit of salt out on our table and the older woman came back and caused the biggest scene and said that was unacceptable. Then she took all the salt and pepper shakers off all the tables around us. It was so weird and awkward. At the end of our meal, my friends 1 year old daughter accidentally dropped a plate on the floor and it broke. Not a big deal. It happens all the time in restaurants. But this old lady acted like it was the end of the world and was so rude about it. It's a shame because the breakfast was really good. But she just lost us as customers. How could someone who lives in Provo not be understanding about kids. Everyone here has them.
(1)Emily K.
Okay everyone claims that this place has good creme brûlée French toast... Idk it wasn't good at all to me. I've had way better French toast. Mine was kind of spongy. My expectations were high and I was disappointed.
(3)Terry L.
These guys are awesome!I have a business near by and frequently go here for lunch. They have hands-down the best French toast in all the land and the Philly cheesesteak is the best I've tasted.all the staff are super friendly and if your lucky enough to meet Norma (the owner) your in for a treat.
(5)Ben H.
Pretty awful.... I had the chicken fried steak and it was the worst I have ever had! It was very tough and bland. Even the eggs tasted weird. My girlfriend had the pumpkin pancakes and they were doughy on the inside. The pancakes were huge and looked amazing. They even tasted really good, except for the uncooking of them. Service was good but the food certainly lacked.
(1)Frank F.
Here's my experience. I go for breakfast. I walk in. There is one party eating. The rest of the restaurant is empty. I sit at a booth. Waitress brings me coffee and I order. After waiting for 15 minutes I ask the waitress how much longer it will be. She says let me check. She comes back and says about 5 minutes. I get up and leave.

What happened to this place? The original location was great, we went there several times and were always pleased by the warm and friendly people that worked there, the delicious and bountiful food, and the prompt service. Since they've been at the new location the service has slowed, the food quantity has shrunk, the quality has diminished, and the service is atrocious. We've tried the new location twice. The first time the food was good, though portions smaller, but the service was slow, albeit friendly. This last time we were finally served our food at least an hour after we sat down. AN HOUR (from when we finally started marking time... it might have actually been longer)! My wife's tea came out slightly warmer than room temperature, and the honey she requested came out about 40 minutes after her tea and after asking for it again. The food portions this time were drastically reduced, no sides came out with my omelette, and the potatoes in the omelette were only partially cooked. The over-all flavor was unremarkable, and it came out cool... not even warm. The plate my wifes egg-whites came out on had a rather thick layer of grease, which somewhat defeats the point of ordering eggs in a 'health' way. This all might be the problem of under-staffing. I'm hoping, for their sake, it changes, but I'm not planning on visiting any time soon (unfortunately, because they used to serve THE BEST breakfast in town). If we ever go back, I'll update my review.
(1)Ray M.
It's hard to write this review because my last experience was so great. I had previously given this place 4 stars. The food was great and service was good. This last time I came in I was greeted at the door in which a server said, " It's going to be an hour wait". I then looked around the restaurant to find maybe 15 people. I then asked why is the wait one hour? The reply I received was "The food". I am not opposed to giving this place another go but, with so many alternatives, it might be a while.
(2)Adam A.
Great breakfast. Best in Provo! Try the French toast. The service can be slow but is always very friendly. Always clean and kept up.
