Love this place love going here and eating pizza! Love the atmosphere feel like I'm in college again every time I come back here! location is always a little awkward. Service is always good!

As usual I had a good experience here. Pizza was very good and the salad bar is always fresh. It's the best around. We had a group of 10 at 7PM on a Monday and waited under 15 minutes to get in.

Overrated. Good rootbeer, iffy service, good pizza if hot but not necessarily for the price.

I had a business associate from California in town that was going to attend a sporting event at BYU so I suggested we eat at Brick Oven for a business lunch since it is a place with a lot of BYU history. I was very pleased with the service. Now, good service happens and you get good waiters at a lot of restaurants. Our guest ordered the pizza sampler where they bring around pizza for him to try. Between our server, the pizza sampler guy, those helping with drinks, we probably had 5 different people talk to us. Every one of them was friendly, happy, and anxious to please. It was like all the stars aligned in the world of service. The food was great too.

This tends to be the place we go to when family is in town. Everyone loves pizza and we think Brick Oven's pizza is a little better than Pizza Factory's. What we love about Brick oven is the atmosphere is very warm, alive, and family friendly. This last time we went, we showed up on a Friday night and the place was packed. We thought we'd be looking at a wait time of over half an hour, but they actually seated us immediately because we were a "small group" (there were four of us!). They always have some sort of fun pizza of the night. For example I got the Southwest pizza which had a chipotle sauce and pico de gallo as the topping. It was pretty good!

These three stars are awarded to the salad/pasta/soup bar alone. It's an enigma; existing nowhere else on earth as far as I know. For one solid price, you get AYCE of the above. Nothing is remarkable, but all is very edible and will provide one's carb requirements for close to 48 months. They maintain a version of the historically significant Green Goddess dressing on their salad bar. In addition, there are about 50 or so other items up for adoption - including raisins, hard boiled eggs, and sunflower seeds - and everything is pretty standard...except for the 'crab with a K' salad. I can't really explain why, but it's my favorite thing on the salad bar. If loading myself up an extra plate of krab salad is wrong, I don't wanna be right. The soup is always good, and they usually have 3 or 4 choices - my personal favorite is the cream of broccoli. It's nicely flavored, and will satisfy with its 62 grams of fat per serving. The pasta bar is a simultaneous dichotomy of awesome and nothing special. The fact that it exists and has so many choices of both pasta and sauce is awesome. The fact that you can dress up your pasta with items from the soup and salad bar is awesome. (Fresh asiago or myzithra cheese on your pasta? mmmmm...) The pasta itself is nothing special, unfortunately. It awaits your consumption in par-boiled mode. When you order, they pop it in to boil for a few moments before slopping it up onto a plate for you, accompanied by a chunk of garlic bread. Some water remains, which sogs half your bread, and waters down your sauce without being able to properly mix it in. Not a big deal, but I always ask them to drain it better...and they look at me like I'm high maintenance. Whatever. I've been coming here long enough that I refer to the place by it's *real* name; Heaps. Over the years I've found their pizza to be ... completely unremarkable in every way. It's not bad, just not good. But I've also come to learn that it has appeal for a specific audience who tends to like their pizza...bland-er. As other reviewers have stated, the crust is gummy, and the veggies are never really fresh tasting. The meat is okay, but the sauce and cheese are somehow so bland that the meat provides pretty much the only flavor. Plus...if you're eating in and ordering pizza, plan on a wait. While anticipating your pizza from the Heaps kitchen, you'll celebrate a birthday or two. It's redonkulously slow. They offer sandwiches (pretty good, too), predesigned salads (meh.), and plated pasta-driven entrees. When I'm not in the mood for the bar, I default to a sandwich, but it doesn't happen that often. Their house brewed Root Beer and Apple Beer are both really good, so you can drown your sorrows in a big frothy glass of either. They proudly celebrate their Mormon roots at Heaps, so don't expect any REAL beer with your faux-Italian offerings. I must make special mention of their retail shop, located on the southeast corner of the building. Here they sell their cookies, suckers, cheesecake, etc. for one to take home and enjoy. This is also where you'll pick up online or phone orders for take-out. I've always thought it was very smart of them to create a separate area for that. It works out well with a separate entrance so the two crowds don't interfere. The service here is typically friendly, but inconsistent, and comes with a lot of turnover since they hire primarily students from across the way. Heaps is pretty much on BYU campus, and caters largely to the student crowd, for good or bad. There's a ton of history hanging on the walls and displayed throughout the building. I love the barber's pole and chair in the front lobby, from an old BYU barber shop I think...? Oh 1980, you're so well represented at Heaps. Or Brick Oven. Or whatever. Me and my 501's are so excited about the new South Jordan shop opening soon! See you in the bar line!

If you want a break from greasy pizza then come here. Seems to be a lot healthier than many places. Exact opposite of The Pie pizzeria in terms of grease. Tastes a little on the dry side but there are some good pizzas there. Salad bar was decent. Atmosphere is fun for families. I like the decor. Root beer was pretty good. I didn't pay so I have no idea what prices were like. Didn't even notice on the menu, was too busy looking at pizza descriptions. I would go there again when in the mood for a healthier pizza. Sometimes you're in the mood for a good somewhat greasy pizza though. Good pizza place but not if you're in the mood to indulge.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Provo. My wife and I always get the salad and pasta bar. The food is good. Service is good. Root beer in a frosted mug. Just what I like.

The service here is top notch. Our drinks were never empty and our plates were always full. The staff is courteous and attentive without being overbearing. I felt compelled to tell everyone there how great it was. It was my first visit so I got the pizza sampler. It's basically an all you can eat buffet that's delivered right to your table. Genius! The food is good and the service is the best I've ever experienced. A great little surprise.

You know right away when you walk up to Heaps that the quality has gone. You don't smell the doughy garlicky goodness outside anymore. We usually hit Heap's 1-2 times per year when we go to Provo. This year, it's just not as good. We ordered the pizza and the crust tastes like it has been frozen. If not, they are really skimping on crust quality. My theory is that they have slipped on quality in favor of buffet types of eats. I'm saddened because this is the place of my youth. I would have put this pizza on par with some Chicago pizzas at one time. Not now. If you go there during the summer, make sure to avoid the EFY crowds. EFY families hit this place hard. However, once the word gets out they are not like they used to be, I'm sure that there will be plenty of room. The alumni are finding other spots now. Do yourself a favor and find the Pizza Factory instead.

Well, this is a tough one for me. I've been coming to this place my entire life. It's a bit sentimental. But there comes a time when emotions have to be put on the back burner and reality kick in. There's a lot of good about Brick Oven. I think there Pizza is generally very good, 4 out of 5. No complaints there. I don't get pasta, so I can't rate it. Salad...oh, the salad. It has taken a nose dive recently I feel. The selection veggies just doesn't cut it for me. Not to mention, the whole baby carrots and the like are totally annoying on a salad. They ought to be shredded, like cheese. The overall taste is just blah. Now, having said that, I do believe they have the BEST ranch I've tasted anywhere. So that's why it's hard. Wish they could up the ante on the actual salad bar to suit such a fabulous dressing. The garlic bread and garlic cheese bread are great. I also usually order a root beer here as it's home brewed and quite good.

Brick Oven Restaurant is a traditional sit-down pizza joint with a large selection of pizzas, pastas and other Italian food. Their pizza is decent but honestly, its nothing special. In fact, the pizza is pretty greasy, which is gross, and the crust even on their thick deep dish, is pretty thin. Last time I ate here I got a terrible stomach ache from the pizza and some unmentionable you know what. I don't recommend eating here, but its your stomach so do what you want.

This is one of those places I loathe going. It always comes up when you associate with large groups that have some attachment to BYU. Yes, the restaurant's always been there, down on what I always thought of as the prettiest part of the BYU campus. I lived down there in the "Monterey" apartments and worked at what had been "Heaps of Pizza" but was now known as The Brick Oven. Back then the Heaps moniker was slowly shrinking to today's oblivion. I have nothing but mediocre food experiences here. This is a place to go if you want to watch the Utah heartland dine in the style preferred. There is a pasta bar with partially cooked pastas waiting to be plunged into water to complete cooking. Go ahead, I'll bet that angel hair pasta needs a couple of minutes to turn into very soft pasta! Mind the line, in addition to you with your grandma and grandpa and cousins and co-workers, there's the intertwining salad bar line. No, maybe it's me... maybe that salad bar stocked with four kinds of sweet gelatin concoctions does it for you? More marshmallows on that salad! Ham, eggs, pile it higher. Now that's good eatin'! I'm willing to go to places like this to preserve and encoruage loving relationships with people I care about. I wish I was better behaved when I do it... I get in a very agitated state when I merely enter the place. Here's a fairly fresh observation: The manager interrupts us for something like 3 minutes while he tries to understand why our table thought it was due a 3rd garlic bread. After much clarification he agrees to make a modification and "give us" the extra garlic bread. He'll record the entree as a mini-pizza, which comes with garlic bread, rather than as a dinner pizza, where it comes as extra. Maybe I'm wrong -- maybe this is a fantastic pizza place, a "classic" as most of the reviews say. But I never have a sense of delicious food when I come here so much as I have the sense that I'm being fattened for slaughter. Go when Grandma and Grandpa invite you to dinner.

Best Pizza in Utah Valley, and probably the state. Toss up between them and Litzas in Salt lake

I saw it was rated low but was starving and gave it a try. Pizza is awful. Definitely doesn't taste like brick oven pizza - the sauce and crust is comparable to Tombstone.... Maybe even worse. I gave it two stars because the salad bar was good and so was the service. Pick another pizza place if your craving for pizza.

I first started going to Brick Oven when I was in college in the '80s. I loved the pasta bar, especially the white clam sauce, and the pizza was very good. When I moved back to Provo after an extended time living near the big city up north, my wife (then just my girlfriend) and I went and the food was still very good. Unfortunately, that seems to have changed. We went one night and my wife got the lasagna, which literally made her sick. The pasta was still good, but no white clam sauce. Also, the salad bar seemed a little lame and the blue cheese dressing was vile. Realizing that you can have a bad night at any given restaurant, we decided to go back again. I don't remember what my wife had, but she said everything tasted like vinegar. The pasta was only OK (still no white clam sauce; must have been the wrong night) and the salad bar was still lame and the blue cheese dressing still vile. End result? Rather than giving additional chances based on memories of great food, we'll be giving Brick Oven a miss. The pizza is still good, but we can get good pizza for less money elsewhere. Sad to say, but the place appears to have gone downhill.

Best pizza in Utah County! Great salad bar, and the root beer is a must! I've lived in this area forever, and I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal here. Desert is great and prices are reasonable!

The Marketplace Buffet is a good deal if you feel like "carbing up" on all you can eat pasta, salad and soup. Some homemade pastas and a variety of sauces for you to choose from. They can work on their meatballs though-I'm not a fan. I do like the Ham & Pineapple pizza and the Cheddar Brocoli Soup.

I can't lie, I mostly dreaded my visit here. I'm so glad I went, because I would have been missing out! I didn't expect the food to be nearly as good as it was. They have tons of menu options, and the pasta with garlic bread that I had was fantastic. I think next time I will try the salad bar as well because all of my companions who got it had really great looking salads. What stood out for me more than the food was the service. I came here in a group of about 12 women and we were seated in their celebration room, and our servers made everything smooth and enjoyable. Orders were taken and delivered correctly and in a timely manner, drinks were always full (You better believe we were out on the town in Provo so there was Diet Coke and Diet Dr. Pepper flowing freely!) From the manager to the hostesses on their way out to the nice guys who helped us out by taking our groups' photos, everyone was on their absolute a-game and I was overall very impressed!

Had the market room buffet. It was good the usual salad bar and pasta. Julie was an excellent server. Was bugged by the staff catching up with a past employee right next to us. Needless to say I know more about the employees that work here than I really wanted to know. It lasted my whole meal. Totally ruined my date with my husband. My server gets 5 stars the food 4 but it got one star for ruining my date out.

When you think of a pizza place in Provo you think of brick oven its been there forever. But... the food is nothing special and very expensive for what you get. The pizza is no better than pizza hut and I don't like pizza hut that much. Supposedly its the best salad bar in Provo which it could be, and the pasta is OK.
(3)
Linsey F.
I like their pizza- my family always orders it when we visit Provo to see the Stadium of Fire. The price is right, they even throw in a two liter bottle of root beer with an extra large pizza. I do agree that the crust can be a bit doughy- but the toppings are always really fresh and the service is friendly and fast. Plus they deliver to the hotel!

I love Brick Oven. I have never tried their pasta, but the pizza is delicious. I always get the salad bar while I am there and love the size and selection. They also have one of the best chicken noodle soups in town!

One Star! I'd almost give it a two star rating because of the home made root beer, but good root beer, does not make it a good pizza place. I normally would go into a fair amount of detail, as I believe reviews are pretty lame without a good amount of critique. However, I will not bore anyone with too much blather, because that's all it will amount to, because, I really have nothing positive to say about the food here. I will say a few things though. The salad bar was really messy. Many of the condiments were spilled into others, like beets in the peas, and eggs in the mushrooms. Pasta bar didn't look appetizing at all. I ordered a small combo pizza, and OMG, it was the worst thing I have ever tasted. First of all, the crust although baked golden brown on bottom, the rest of the crust was doughy. There wasn't much sign of any sauce, and the cheese was piled on the crust, then melted as they tried to cook it. The toppings were put on top of the cheese, and if you have ever had canned mushrooms on pizza, it might be the last pizza you ever put mushrooms on. Very unappetizing! Crust was doughy because there was so much cheese on it that the crust couldn't bake, due to the fact that the cheese smothered it so bad, it had no chance. Flavor was horrible, and after two small pieces, that was all I could stomach. No "to go" box for me! If all the pizza's come out this way, I don't know how anyone would want to go back, and I don't know how anyone can say that this place is any good. My wife ordered a "special of the day" salad. It was some sort of concoction that somebody thought would be good. It sort of sounded good to her when she ordered it, and it came out pre-made, however, she got only about half way through it and she had had enough. I remember going to this place one other time years ago, and back in the day I thought it was great, but this time I was severely disappointed and I highly doubt that I (we) will be going back. To top it all off, the worst part came a couple hours after eating, as upset stomach ensued, and the rest of my night was shot in the bathroom. Not Good!... Not good at all!

Not the best pizza in the world, but it beats Little Caesar's (an apparent favorite in the Valley). The salad bar was OK, too. We missed out on the homemade root beer, so it might be worth a trip back...

I came to the Provo Brick Oven upon the request of my Daughter who's birthday it was. I don't often eat here, Mostly for the fact that I feel the pizza is overpriced. The customer service I received was outstanding, our waiter was incredibly nice, up beat, happy and took very good care of us. Our drinks were refilled every time without asking. The big thing that keeps me from coming back is the pizza. They always use fresh ingredients but the quality in no way justifies the price. The soup is quite good, the pasta is really yummy, the salad bar is pretty good and the root beer is fantastic. The garlic bread I received was flavorless. The pizza I received was on the crappy side but they were quick to invite me back in and take care of us.

Brick Oven is a classic pizza place located in the shadow of BYU. They've been serving pizza since the 50s when they used to be called "Heaps of Pizza". The locals just call it Heaps! Try the Hawaiian Pizza with the slivered almonds or Deluxe Heaps a Pizza! It's amazing! The pizza is California style with lots of veggies, cheese, and a crispy light crust without being greasy. The pasta and salad bar are pretty good if you don't want pizza. The "boot" root-beer floats are great for the kids. The garlic bread cooked in the brick oven is delicious. Be sure to order your pasta off the menu instead of the pasta bar. It tastes more fresh with complex sauces instead of the pre-cooked pasta and simple sauces at the pasta bar. Also, I used to work here during college and I still loved eating here then and now. This is something which can't be said by many restaurants' employees. They've added a couple new rooms in the back since I first started coming which are great for groups and family gatherings.

Have eaten here many times over 40 years, mainly because my wife loves this place. A return to her days as a Co-ed at the Y I suppose. I love the local flavor of the ambiance and the salad bar. Sadly the food has not improved over the years.

The food was good but the service was awkward. We had more bread than we could ever eat and it was far to crunchy for my taste. We ordered an appetizer, salad bar and meals. Our food came out as soon as we sat down from the salad bar and our appetizer came after our meals. Would have been nice if the waiter kept our food warm while we ate our salads and appetizer. One of the most annoying things ever to me is having to ask for a refill. I cannot stand to see 20 employees standing around talking and not paying attention to customers. Especially if it is slow and I had to ask. All in all probably fun for a date night or family outing. Would go back if I had to but with lower service expectations.

My future grandmother-in-law surprised my husband and myself by taking the entire family on both sides out to eat here the day before our wedding. I guess everyone know but my husband and me. I think my husband had pizza. It was such a fast pace day. I have pictures of a pizza. But I remember that I had the pasta bar. There are no complaints there. It is great for big parties, I believe there was about 30 of us. Yes it is a BYU hangout, and been a round for a while. Enjoy
This place is pretty tasty, I have to say. I would stay away from the pasta bar and whatnot, but the pizzas are flavorful and their desserts are gastronomic delights. (Try the Double Baked Chocolate Cookie Monster. Mmmm...vanilla ice cream melting over two warm soft cookies, topped with hot fudge and caramel. Oh, these things go straight to my thighs.) Anyway, yes. Be prepared for crowds, especially on Monday nights and weekends. You get free root beer with any pizza on Mondays, so that's a nice incentive. They also have individual sized pizzas, making it possible for everyone to have their own. Its close proximity to BYU makes it a natural hangout for students, so keep this in mind when planning your pizza excursion. Cheers!

Ryan R.
Brick-oven is kind of the go-to place for BYU students when you have family in town or you're celebrating something and you don't want to get fast food, but you don't want to spend too much money. And you pretty much get what you pay for. I often ordered a calzone when I went and they weren't bad, but they were never quite as good as I hoped they were going to be. In fact, the only thing I ever had there that really stood out was the root beer, which I believe they make themselves. Honestly I would probably normally give a place like this a two, but they're the closest thing provo has to a restaurant with some historical significance. Its a restaurant that Cougars who are generations apart can reminisce about together. So for that it gets a three.

Brick Oven is popular, but the pizza is mediocre at best (it can sometime be "doughy" after it comes out). If you're from out of town, you'll be disappointed.

Pricey...but always good. I have never been disappointed with anything I've ever ordered. The Napoli is my favourite. The lunch specials are very reasonable, and you can get a 10% student discount on take-out orders.

I used to love Brick Oven when I was at BYU in the early nineties. Not sure what's changed--the restaurant or me. Walking in yesterday, my sense of smell was greeted with a sort of raunchy, not-quite-clean odor. I tried to ignore it enough to allow me to stay awhile (my daughter picked the eatery after all & I wanted to humor her). The salad was mostly iceberg lettuce, so it was your typical lousy offering from like-priced establishments. I got the pasta bar, which was OK. I like the garlic bread and homemade pastas. The sauce and cheeses are serviceable, if not a bit grungy from so many hands fondling the serving utensils. They should have hand sanitizer pumps available about every three feet. I didn't eat at the salad bar, but it looked nasty, with food slopped from containers into other containers and just randomly throughout. Stlll, the wait staff was attentive and efficient. And, they need to be to churn through the teeming throngs of customers. Despite my finickiness, obviously, this place has no want for business.

Decent, fast, pretty original. A little pricy, but not bad. Honestly probably not better than Domino's unless you're specifically craving something they have but I'll probably order from them again.
(4)
Greg V.
This is a Provo landmark that sits in the shadow of BYU and as such is able to get away with being almost always understaffed by bright eyed BYU students with terrific attitudes who don't realize they are being exploited. The pizza is adequate although overpriced and nothing to write home about, be prepared for a long wait. The guy doing balloon animals adds to the overall "what is this place?" atmosphere. Next time my family wants pizza I'll order Dominos from home and donate the extra $50 to a local charity.

Great food but their online ordering system is not trustworthy. Be sure to call and confirm that they have your order before picking it up.

So... lets just call this the awkward break up review. I have been here probably 5 total time in my life... 2006, 2008, 2013 (2), 2014. Brick oven I'm sorry but... I can't do this anymore. Overpriced? yes. Excellent (keyword) quality: no, very average. High Maintenance? yes. This last experienced simply solidified the horrid truth that is... this just ain't the same place it once was. First off I'm 8 years older, so brand alone no longer matters, it's like my brother-in-law who was HILARIOUS from age 1-12 and at some point you realize... actually... youre kind of creepy. I was young and in love, I thought brick oven was the coolest place, mistaking high prices for good quality. Today... I ordered a pepperoni calzone... so what would you expect me to get? Well olives, mushrooms, peppers, onions, and other undesirables of course. I JUST WANTED PEPPERONI RICOTTA AND CHEESE!! Unfortunately this isn't the first time a grave mistake has been made. I paid... I wept... I left. Never to return. THE VERDICT: Food is decent, prices are high, go if you like trying new places, but this place is not a must, and besides being a staple of Provo because of its history, there is nothing special. And I believe that past reputation can only carry you so far into the future. With all my love, Al Pal.

I have to give this place only three stars because I was not super hungry so I just wound up getting soup and a salad which were decent, but this place was really known for their pizza and house made root beer. I did get the root beer, which was quite yummy and my dad did seem to enjoy the pizza. Bonus for the kiddies, one of the wait staff made balloon animals.
(3)
Dave B.
The root beer here is good and they supposedly make it themselves. I am mixed on the pizza. I've had some good ones here and some not great as well. Their pasta and salad bar is all you can eat for an additional fee. I have some relatives who love the place so I only come here when they insist. I prefer cheaper and better pizza elsewhere.
(3)
Chelsea J.
Their food use to be really good. Their pizzas are just way over priced for the quality. I always order delivery sometimes their fast sometimes it can take a super long time. I decided to try the lasagna for something different. Huge disappointment. The frozen lasagna that you buy from the store is better. Probably my last time ordering, to much disappointment for me.

My husband and I decided to eat here after a BYU/UVU Rugby game. We were seated right away and then sat for about 15 minutes waiting for our order to be taken. The waitress finally came and took our order. We ordered the Spinach Artichoke dip and the Chicken Garlic Pizza. We waited 30 minutes, no appetizer. Our pizza came out and another waitress brought it out, but to the wrong table and couldn't figure out where it belonged. Finally she brought it to our table. The pizza was really good. We finally got our appetizer when it was time to leave. I asked to box it up to go and they comped us for it and gave us cookies on the house. Our water was never refilled. It's a shame because the food was really good, but I don't think I've ever had worse service in a restaurant ever. Whoever the manager is, really needs to clean house and concentrate on servicing your customers, because right now, you aren't doing that.

I remember as a kid I loved the Chuck Norris adventure movie called "Fire-walker". I recently tried to re watch it and my sensibilities were appalled by the thin plot, lack of acting, and overall suckiness of one of my childhood favorites. Why do I mention that here? Because we eventually grow up and our tastes become more refined. As a kid I loved this place. It represented the endless possibilities of college that I saw when visiting my older siblings. Now I visit this place and all I taste is some average pizza riding on the back of a lot of history.

A-ok. Good but expensive pizza. Oily, fatty sauces. Good salad bar. My wife loves this place more than I do, so I go mostly to satisfy her. Great rootbeer. Good servers.

It is incredibly sad to write this review. Brick Oven used to be the place I recommended to all of my out of town friends. The pizza was great, the crust divine, and garlic toast had this fantastic crunchy, appropriately buttery crust. I never regretted inevitably reeking of garlic the next day. It is now just another sad, tasteless, greasy pizza spot. The sauce has changed, they no longer offer deep dish crust, the garlic bread is now a basket of soggy chunks of torn up bread sticks. My mourning shall last as long as this completely unacceptable halitosis. Sigh.

I've been enjoying Brick Oven Pizza my whole life. Whether its in the restaurant, or to-go, I have never been disappointed. I love the BBQ chicken/pineapple, and both the Bacon Ranch and Chicken Alfredo. And, whenever I've ordered something other than pizza, its been delicious. I recommend it!

I really enjoyed my first trip to the brick oven! I had a delicious calzone and shared some pizza from my family and it was all delicious. The restaurant was a bit hot for the summer but other than that I have no complaints!

They have great pizza and great service. It's a fun place to get pizza with friends or family. They are somewhat packed and have a busy atmosphere there. It gets loud at times and jammed in places. But they always take care of you well and make it a fun trip. They have super good cheese bread.

Jonathon G.
This place is very good. I love this place. Pizza is great to perfect, especially their desert pizza. Standard salad buffet, and if you get the all-you-can-eat option, try every pizza you can! They're all pretty solid. Service is average, as is the atmosphere. Don't pass up the desert pizza options, and a good choice for a drink is the root beer. It's darn good.

Brick Oven is not just for baby boomers who come back for reunions and big BYU games. The food? awesome. The staff? Super friendly, competent and accommodating. The homemade Root beer will put yours to shame. That is, if you make Root beer. (do people do that?) I recently hosted an event there, and I can't begin to describe the amount of care that was put into each detail by the staff. Everything is fresh, and cooked well the first time. I recommend the Chicken Alfredo pizza!!! And, of course, the Root beer.

They made my order wrong, again, but decided to eat it anyway so I wouldn't have to wait another hour for the food to arrive.... the "Chicken Parmesan" was quite possibly the worst chicken I've had in my life. It had a rubbery texture and was completely tasteless. I wouldn't be surprised if it was made last week but served yesterday. Provo restaurants, in general, clearly have a much lower standard on food than anywhere else I've ever been.

THE BEST PIZZA PLACE IN UTAH COUNTY in my opinion. We eat here all the time. Quite often we get delivery. They offer online ordering which we use and find very easy to use. The food arrived at the right temperature with the exception of the root beer, it wasn't cold but room temperature. Not a big deal. We love the pizza. Tasty sauce, perfect amount of cheese and fresh pepperoni. The garlic bread is so delicious. We love to dip it in the house special green ranch dressing. The salads were a good size and came with garlic bread too. The spaghetti is so rich and flavorful. The meatballs are perfect. We love to eat at the restaurant and love the convenience of home delivery. The drivers are professionally dressed and have marked vehicles.

Tomato basil soup is very delicious, along with the garlic bread! Hawaiian pizza is the best, isn't anything like east coast pizza though :/

A little expensive for the taste. The service is only par. Needs improvement. The salad bar is good.

Deep dish pizza, yum! Ok, the pizza is good, and the price is right. This is a place you go if you want to eat a lot at a low price. Definitely not fine dining though The atmosphere is upbeat. The place is packed with families. Kids everywhere. Large all you can eat pasta and salad/soup bar where quantity is everything.

I'll give it 2 stars because of the root beer is delicious!,use to be my favorite place in the valley for pizza when I was a youth,I feel that the food quality has suffered immensely. The salad bar isn't fresh and it just sits there all day without being changed, the atmosphere is quiet and sinfully boring!,which totally kills the ambience of this place. The pizza is below average fare here, not a whole lot of love going into it,the sauce is bland and all dried up,it tastes like it's been out of a can,I really loved their deep dish crust, unfortunately they don't make it anymore, the regular crust feels like it's frozen dough, these place could us a major overhaul to shake things up! And bring it back the way it once was perhaps even better than it was, using fresh ingredients would be a good start!

Used to love this place but they just haven't kept up. Other options offer better pizza and their salad bar used to be the best but now the eggs are half frozen and things just aren't fresh. Heavy food.

I ordered delivery from here a number of times when I was at BYU. I always enjoyed it. It's good pizza, just nothing to write home about.

Greasy. Overpriced. Gross. Confusing menu. A million different people serving our table. Food comes out at different times. I'm not sure whether it was the greasy pizza or the greasy BYU fans everywhere, but this place left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm surprised that anyone even eats here.

Just had a terrible experience at Brick Oven (Provo). We had a group of friends meet together for dinner at the establishment tonight. Several of us ordered the "Tucanos-like" all you can eat pizza, others ordered their own pizzas. Firstly, the pizza slices are ridiculously small, and I sensed that they only wanted to offer one at a time. When it arrived it was warm, but on the cold side if warm. Then it was 5-8 minutes before we saw her again. You guys REALLY need to work out the logistics of this, because I felt like I was totally gypped!!! Secondly our friends who ordered the pizzas, waited almost an hour before they arrived! That's plain wrong! One of the pizzas was incorrect too, but the server took it off his check (at my coaxing). We also had a pregnant woman in the room with us who was very hot! We had to ask that they turn the AC on 4-5 times. It would click off after about 10 minutes. We were told the second time that we asked that "[they] were told that it was winter outside, so it should be okay". No, that's not okay. It was hot in the room, not just for the pregnant woman. Lastly, what happened to the deep dish?! I've been frequenting this restaurant for decades, and that seemed to me to be your signature dish?! We were all very disappointed. The only good thing about the experience were our servers. They were kind, but had to apologize time and time again for everything that was happening behind the scenes.

My wife and I ate here recently and were well treated and taken care of. The food was excellent, the facilities clean and service better than great.

Dear Mr brick oven, who ever you hired to be in charge of food quality needs to be let go. My family and I ordered a little bit of everything. The pasta sauces taste watered down, the soups taste like something you would find at a gas station, the pizza tastes like cardboard, the garlic bread tasted like foam bricks, the salad bar tasted like something you would purchase at chuck o rama. What used to be a little piece of heaven is now a overpriced restaurant riding the coattail of since great reputation. Lemme know when your food doesn't suck. Sincerely, Concerned Overeater

Not sure what the hype is here. It's pizza. Overpriced pizza. It's a crowded place and the options are pretty standard. That being said, it's pizza! Pizza is rarely a bad choice. This is close to campus and a BYU classic. The Root Beer is really why you have to go. Try to wait until your parents are in town or you get a sweet coupon though. Oh, and the service is usually REALLLLLY slow.

I've been here dozens of time with family and I hate it so much. Children screaming everywhere but really the true problem is bad food. Really bad expensive food. Watery gross pasta, tasteless soup, whatever pizza. Also why is there so much staff every time I'm here there's 6-8 waiters standing, flirting, talking but don't actually appear to have any tables. I never give bad reviews but I hate this loud tacky overpriced restaurant.

Edward D.
Ate here a week ago. The service was really good. As usual the manager was friendly and approachable. The wait staff was attentive and genuinely wanted to make our dining experience a good one. We used the local coupon ($5 off $25) this time. Heaps Special was great. Pizza was fresh and hot.

Honestly, I have nothing good to say about this "pizza" place. The pizza was spongy bread with flavorless sauce, the cheese some kind of cheap "Italian blend" you buy at a common grocery store, the pineapple was canned, as was most everything at the salad bar, and the soup was mediocre at best. The only thing worth commenting on was the root beer, which was just okay. I would never eat here again, nor would I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys pizza. If you like flavorless white sponge stuff with ketchup and some kind of cheese on top, then you'll love it, but if you love pizza, go somewhere else, and don't waste your time at this establishment.

I actually enjoyed everything that I ordered here, and the rest of my party also enjoyed their food. it was not bland, tasteless, or questionable in any way - though it will make you fat if you eat here every day! I would go back with a group of friends for a casual hang out any time. it's within walking distance of many apartment and Brigham Young University, so be sure to avoid high foot-traffic times (like noon, and around 5pm).

Brick oven is delicious! The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because their food has a tendency to disagree with most peoples digestive systems. . . The problem is most prevalent while eating pasta, especially the Alfredo. Stick to the pizza and you will not be disappointed. Get the Cookie Monster for dessert, it is amazing and is worth every penny!
(4)
Sam N.
Disappointed. I loved this place growing up but the pizza isn't as good anymore. I heard they have new management and I think they skimp on the cheese or something. Too bad. Malawis is our new place.

Um...Have the people who reviewed this ever eaten anywhere else? Pizza is well below average, the buffet is cafeteria quality at best, and the service is nothing more than serviceable. I cannot see any reason to go here unless it's the only thing open.
(1)
Jeff C.
The Pizza in my opinion is the best thing to order here. Its not the best but it's good. The Root Beer is also really good. Service sometimes can be inconsistent. Save room for the Cookie Monster dessert it is very good and satisfies everyone! Pasta has been ok as well as the salads and everything else Ive had there. I've never left thinking Wow I was blown away.

I love gluten free pizzas especially the garlic chicken! The service tries to accommodate allergies.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

(3)Joe L.
(5)Mike B.

(4)Nate S.
This is one of my favorite places to eat in Provo. My wife and I always get the salad and pasta bar. The food is good. Service is good. Root beer in a frosted mug. Just what I like.
(5)Cole B.
(5)Trtman W.
(3)Corbin A.
(3)Robbie P.
Pizzas are great, pasta is disappointing.
(3)Sam S.
(1)Don L.
(1)Greg T.
Best Pizza in Utah Valley, and probably the state. Toss up between them and Litzas in Salt lake
(5)Monica D.
(2)Scott B.
(2)Chase A.
Totally good, once again. Pizza, salad, pasta, cookie, garlic bread. Everything was great just like I like it. Very consistent.
(4)Sherry W.
Best pizza in Utah County! Great salad bar, and the root beer is a must! I've lived in this area forever, and I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal here. Desert is great and prices are reasonable!
(5)Daphney B.
(3)Aimee C.
(4)Angela T.
(1)David N.
(3)Linsey F.
(4)Amanda C.
I love Brick Oven. I have never tried their pasta, but the pizza is delicious. I always get the salad bar while I am there and love the size and selection. They also have one of the best chicken noodle soups in town!
(4)Mike B.
(1)Amber M.
Not the best pizza in the world, but it beats Little Caesar's (an apparent favorite in the Valley). The salad bar was OK, too. We missed out on the homemade root beer, so it might be worth a trip back...
(2)Ray M.
(3)David B.
(4)G Tyce F.

Enjoy

This restaurant has the best salad bar in Provo, and is one of the last remaining places in town where you can sit down with your family to eat. My perspective is biased, so the darn fools that reviewed it at one star can continue raving. I have a large family, and to be fair, to single people this place is probably not as attractive as it is to me. The Brick Oven has been around since the seventies, an eternity compared to other joints that seem to play musical chairs, opening and closing in a matter of a couple of years. I've been dining here since high school in the eighties. My favorite thing to order is the Market Room buffet, which is all the pasta, soup and salad you can eat. Fancy it ain't, all right? So let's not compare it to the Tree Room, or the Sundance Grill. This is the place for getting your family, your noisy kids and the grandparents all to eat stuff that they will all love. It is a bad choice if you want a quiet date, with whispered witticisms, and soft ambience music. But on the other hand, if you love a high-energy, buzzing atmosphere this is where you want to go. The soup bar has a pièce de résistance, the old-fashioned chicken noodle which is my standard for any other soup, anywhere. Also a very competent clam chowder and another soup I forget. The salad bar is not gigantic, like the one at Tucanos, but the choices are fresh and appealing. The ranch dressing is extremely good, also a reference standard. The pasta bar has fresh-made noodles that get dunked in hot water when you order, to enhance and preserve the al-dente-ness. There are usually two or three fettuccine varieties (spinach, whole wheat, house) plus a selection of rotini, penne, etc that give you many choices, at least six If I recall correctly. Then comes the sauce to accompany the noodles, standard marinara, meat marinara, Alfredo, chicken Alfredo and let's not forget the grated cheeses, at least six choices to add zest to the pasta (I'm sure they cook it easy on the salt on purpose, you make it sing with the addition of the cheese). The house root beer is a special treat, it is served in a tall stein, frosted. I can't think of another restaurant you can go to in this town, and get a large party out of the cold, or after a football game as fast and for less money, especially if you have teen boys that eat like chainsaws.

Cheers!

(3)Mat G.

(1)Nicholas L.
Decent, fast, pretty original. A little pricy, but not bad. Honestly probably not better than Domino's unless you're specifically craving something they have but I'll probably order from them again.
(4)Greg V.
(2)Heather P.

(3)Dave B.
(3)Chelsea J.
(3)Maryanne L.
I just love Brick Oven so much and I love the pasta bar! Yum yum yum. Also the best chicken noodle soup :)
(5)Karyn C.

(3)Zach L.
A-ok. Good but expensive pizza. Oily, fatty sauces. Good salad bar. My wife loves this place more than I do, so I go mostly to satisfy her. Great rootbeer. Good servers.
(3)Diana B.
Sigh.
(1)Teri C.
(5)Matt P.
I really enjoyed my first trip to the brick oven! I had a delicious calzone and shared some pizza from my family and it was all delicious. The restaurant was a bit hot for the summer but other than that I have no complaints!
(4)Brian W.
They have great pizza and great service. It's a fun place to get pizza with friends or family. They are somewhat packed and have a busy atmosphere there. It gets loud at times and jammed in places. But they always take care of you well and make it a fun trip. They have super good cheese bread.
(4)Jonathon G.
(3)Chaela M.
(5)Alexis K.
(1)Vickie J.
(4)Xenia M.
Tomato basil soup is very delicious, along with the garlic bread! Hawaiian pizza is the best, isn't anything like east coast pizza though :/
(3)Richard C.
A little expensive for the taste. The service is only par. Needs improvement. The salad bar is good.
(3)Miles B.
(3)Stan P.
(2)Rob B.
Used to love this place but they just haven't kept up. Other options offer better pizza and their salad bar used to be the best but now the eggs are half frozen and things just aren't fresh. Heavy food.
(3)Sarah S.
I ordered delivery from here a number of times when I was at BYU. I always enjoyed it. It's good pizza, just nothing to write home about.
(3)John D.
Greasy. Overpriced. Gross. Confusing menu. A million different people serving our table. Food comes out at different times. I'm not sure whether it was the greasy pizza or the greasy BYU fans everywhere, but this place left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm surprised that anyone even eats here.
(1)Shane M. M.

(5)Jared O.
(1)Will C.
(3)Myleka W.
(1)Edward D.
Ate here a week ago. The service was really good. As usual the manager was friendly and approachable. The wait staff was attentive and genuinely wanted to make our dining experience a good one. We used the local coupon ($5 off $25) this time. Heaps Special was great. Pizza was fresh and hot.
(4)Shane K.
(1)Hazel S.
(5)Emilie J.
(4)Sam N.
Disappointed. I loved this place growing up but the pizza isn't as good anymore. I heard they have new management and I think they skimp on the cheese or something. Too bad. Malawis is our new place.
(2)Ryan T.
Um...Have the people who reviewed this ever eaten anywhere else? Pizza is well below average, the buffet is cafeteria quality at best, and the service is nothing more than serviceable. I cannot see any reason to go here unless it's the only thing open.
(1)Jeff C.
(3)Brittany M.
I love gluten free pizzas especially the garlic chicken! The service tries to accommodate allergies.
