An unexpected delight. This is a great restaurant near downtown Park City Utah that captures the rustic ambiance of the older Park City with views of the Wasatch, paired with modern American cuisine. We enjoyed our dinner while listening to an amazing husband and wife duet on fiddle and guitar. The acoustic levels were at a perfect volume making dinner entertaining but still being able to talk to the waiter and each other without having to raise our voices. My wife and I enjoy an excellent fresh dinner salad, glass of wine and their nightly special - stuffed pork tenderloin in a reduction sauce. Simple fare, expertly made and reasonably priced. There is something for everyone here. We can not say enough about what a great a time we had at the Silver Star Cafe.

It's between 2 and 3 stars and I am rounding up as my only experience here has been 1 time for dinner. Let us begin with the setting: Casual, great view, lovely outdoor space. This was a welcome first impression. Now on to the rest: Menu was promising and varied. We started with some wine and apps-hummus and meatballs. These dishes took a very long time to come to the table...I mean, a ridiculous amount of time! To add insul to injury, they were mediocre at best. The hummus didn't have much flavor and the pita that accompanied was strange. A cross between stale, crunchy, and soft. Seriously. For entrees, we ordered the steak, chicken and lamb kebab. Perhaps there was only 1 cook on this particular evening but the food was again slow to surface. The steak was done correctly and had some nice flavor. Typical veg and potatoes on the side and nothing really stood out. Chicken was very nice, moist and had a good, crunchy skin. The same veg and potatoes rode sidecar to this dish. The lamb was the real sore spot for me: full of sinew and very very rare. The pieces that were edible could have used a bit more cooking time. Flavors were kind of fighting with one another...perhaps a nice yogurt sauce would have accompanied the lamb more appropriately than the spicier, heavy sauce served. Now the exciting thing is that there was not a potato, but a serving of quinoa. I love quinoa but this was in need of some citrus and olive oil. The mint was nice but needed a better balance. Finished the dinner with the pudding trio and brownie...this was the best part of the meal for sure. Silver Star is cute and probably a great place for lunch but definitely not dinner. Our meal took 2 hours which is ok if you are fine dining, so I doubt that I will return for an evening meal but lunch isn't out of the questions.

Went here based on the great reviews, but after waiting 45 MINUTES for food, we got up and left! I've never had to do that before... They kept assuring us the food was coming, but after watching several tables-- who arrived after us--get their food, we decided to leave. In talking to other locals, guess it's common knowledge that this place isn't known for its brunch service. So take heed, and if you decide to go on a Sunday, be prepared for a needless wait in a beautiful setting!

We're on vacation here in park city and after seeing the restaurant on The Food Network, We had to try it and weren't disappointed. Food was incredible, service was very friendly and welcoming. Our table over heard a guest literally screaming at the manager (think his name was Andy) while he was extremely professional, he defused the situation. We on the other hand couldn't couldn't be happier and we'll be back everytime we're in town. Thank you Silver Star Cafe!!!

I went to Silver Star Café twice last month - once for Lunch with friends, and once for dinner with the family, and both experiences were great! If you are looking for a great place to eat that is away from busy Main Street, this is a great place to go. It's a local's favorite spot, tucked away off the beaten path, with reasonable prices and great food. There is something for everyone on the menu. The burgers are great, and so are the wood-fired pizzas. The décor is hip but charming, and on a sunny day in the spring/summer seasons, you can dine on the patio and enjoy the views of the golf course. The drinks are great, too. I often go there with friends and family for lunch, and their breakfasts are good, too. It is the perfect spot to go for a drink and a bite to eat and/or to relax with friends. A local couple own the place and are often there, checking to make sure that diners are happy. If you go, you should save room for dessert and check out the homemade ice cream made by the chef. The ice cream flavors are unusual and delicious! It's also a great place to stop for breakfast, lunch or apres' ski in the winter time. Sometimes there are live bands playing great music, too. It is located at the bottom of one of the lifts at PCMR off of Three Kings Dr. It is tucked away, but totally worth checking out. If you are visiting Park City, you should definitely make this one of your dining spots!

We had lunch after hiking the Armstrong trail with our dog. We were seated without a fuss and a server brought a dog bowl with cold water for our dog and kept it topped up during lunch. The sandwich and pizza were good but the desert was amazing. It was three espresso cups filled with creme brulee, butter scotch and chocolate mousse.

The diners in our group were disappointed in the quality of the food. My ceviche had very few shrimp and scallops, and the watermelon gazpacho was somewhat tasteless. The live entertainment and the beautiful view did compensate somewhat for the food.

Two of us had dinner and went back for lunch several days later after a hike. The food is outstanding. Location at the base of the Armstrong trail is beautiful and comfortable. Service was prompt and pleasant....the owners were around, friendly and informative as long time residents of PC. Have never written a review but highly recommend the Silver Star Cafe based on two excellent meals.

This has quickly become our go to place in Park City. Terrific food, great service, fantastic music on Thursdays and Fridays, and wonderful owners in Jeff and Lisa. We stumbled upon this place at the end of a long mountain bike ride last August, and had a delightful lunch on the plaza. Since then, we've had dinner there several times, each time better than the last. Last night, we sat on the plaza as the sun went down, listening to "Last October", a duo from Vermont. The food was wonderful, as usual, but last night was a special night, with an energetic crowd on the plaza of all ages, and wonderful music. And to top it all, it was Jeff and Lisa's anniversary, yet somehow, they put their customers' concerns first. I had a NY sirloin, cooked to perfection, with crispy shallots and grilled vegetables and red potatoes. Tasty and tender. My wife had last night's salmon offering, also terrific, and we shared a brownie sunday. The food is every bit as good as the best of Main Street, at a whole different (to wit, lower), price point. We can't wait to go back, which we will do, soon.

Used to be a favorite of ours. Has really gone down hill the last 6 months and I'm not sure why - ownership & chef is the same. Food has gotten less tasty, more oily. Staff is really ill prepared and not helpful. This last visit was atrocious. I never even received my meal! Waitress didn't seem that concerned and the food itself was very disappointing. We have consistently been disappointed several times now so wont' be back anytime soon.

I agree with all the previous reviews. I came for the first time for brunch and plan to return and bring out of town guests. Husband's egg benedict hollandaise sauce was a little thin/runny, but the fantastic breakfast potatoes made up for it. I appreciate their gluten-free bread option. It was very tasty and went well with the strawberry jam/fresh butter. Just a note: restroom is located outside of the restaurant/across the patio in a different building.

This restaurant has exquisite views overlooking the Park City Municipal Golf Course and has some great performers at night, but has lost me /us for breakfast and we'll eat first for the music and just drink. We took friends in from Santa Fe for breakfast yesterday morning and it was bad. My wife's Veggie Olmette was overdone and salty, the 2 pulled pork benedicts were mostly fat with overcooked poached eggs which we had requested with the yolks runny. The 4th meal was a Sausage Olmlette which looked overdone, but our guest said was fine. I mentioned some of this to the owner who just listened mumbled sorry and moved on. We might have returned the Benedits and the Veggie Olmette, but it took so long to get, we were out of time. We wanted to give them another chance and they failed miserably.

I used to frequent this restaurant and really liked it. Until last week. I had to send my go-to entree back - and I NEVER do that - but it was absolutely inedible. Things started off poorly. My caesar salad was just torn romaine with croutons and a nasty vinegar on it. That's it! I didn't eat it and the waiter asked why and I told him. Apparently the word didn't get back to the chef who has an apparent love of vinegar. When my roast chicken arrived, I took a bite and couldn't believe it! The chicken was sitting in a pond of the same vinegar! Now, I've ordered this dish many, many times at this restaurant and it's NEVER been served with vinegar. My out-of-town guest also ordered this on my recommendation and HE couldn't believe it; he almost gagged with his first bite. I was embarrassed. The waiter took both chicken dishes away and came back to tell us that this chef is new, from a very important restaurant, and this is how the dish is now made and served. I'll never go back.

My wife and I had dinner here last night. It was fantastic. They were not a lot of people there, we found out that that is because this is the slow time of year. It is too bad, people are missing out. The food is that good. my wife had a pasta with meat sauce that she really liked. I had the trout, that was also quite excellent. The brownie Sunday dessert we had was also great. Service was really good too. We will be coming back later this winter when we come back to PC for our ski vacation.

I went here with a friend on a busy Friday night but luckily we had reservations. Not knowing how long it would take us to get through the canyon, we arrived 30 minutes early from our reservation time but we were seated on the patio within a few minutes. Very friendly staff - our waitress never seemed annoyed that we couldn't make up our minds. Live music that night - it was great. The views are spectacular! The food was really good as well - my friend has the halibut and I had the burger. For dessert, he had the strawberry rhubarb pie and I had the chocolate salted carmel brownie. My friend said that was the BEST rhubarb pie he has ever had and my brownie was SO GOOD. I loved the bulldog that wondered around, with a sign on his collar to please not feed him. He never bothered anyone and never sat there begging for food. Beautiful outdoor seating area. I highly recommend this place!

My husband and I came here for brunch on a road trip based on Yelp reviews and were glad we drove the extra five miles off the freeway. We loved the cozy and rustic yet posh ambiance nestled in the mountains with beautiful views. Our brunch was perfectly delicious and the service was attentive and friendly without being obtrusive. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and amount of food we were served. As a bonus for me, they had gluten-free bread available to make almost all of the dish options edible for me, which I was excited about! Because of this, I was able to enjoy the mouth-watering strawberry preserves on gluten-free toast. We would definitely come back!

What great, calm, upscale ambiance on the slopes. This place must be hard to find because whenever we went it was half-empty. Really great hand-crafted meals. Since they messed up the mid-mountain menu (oh spuds drowning and cornbread, where art thou?), this has become my favorite on-hill lunch spot at PCMR. The wife loves it too.

Stumbled upon this hidden treasure! Amazing non traditional pork osso bucco, in a slightly spicy tomatillo sauce. We ended w the butternut squash cheesecake, which at first glance seemed like pipkin pie, but after a couple bites turned into a real treat! Fall is definitely in the air! We'll return ever chance we have! Oh yeah, the service was darn near perfect!

Really enjoyed our trip to Park City last week and pleased to find a great restaurant off the downtown beaten path in Silver Star Cafe. Starters were awesome with a white bean hummus and toasted pita chips. Main dish of Cassoulet with Anise sausage and chicken was awesome. My son had a beautiful steak that was perfectly medium-rare. Kudos to the wait staff, chef and owner for keep all comfortable on a cold night - very active place yet quiet enough to have a conversation.

My husband ate here yesterday and loved it, so he suggested that the whole family meet and eat there the next day. We had a party of 7 which is kind of large for this place. but the tables were moving and we managed to get a seat and the staff was friendly and provided us extra benches for the kids. We placed our order and 45 minutes later had not received our food....then they brought the pizza's, then 5 minutes later the pulled pork sandwich and a hamburger. The pulled pork was fabulous but cold as were the french fries, which they promptly replaced. They completely forgot my husbands salad which upon are asking for it was delivered within 5 minutes, after we were all completley done with our meals. Maybe an off day, the food was good but service was very very slow with no explanation. Would go again for the pulled pork sandwich, it was fabulous!!!

A one of a kind for Park City. Market fresh selection of cheeses and meats plus fresh pastries and baked goods, and artisan pizzas in a brick oven. The freshest ingredients make up their creative/casual-gourmet menu. Try their Grilled Cheese with Tallegio cheese (a fruity dessert cheese) w/ Tyrolean ham and sun dried cherries on sourdough. This place is literally a hidden gem located slopeside to Park City Mountain Resort at Silver Star Condominiums. Ride the lift to get here or take the city bus to Silver Star. Don't leave without a mint brownie or twix-bar shortbread cookie.

I LOVE this cafe and came today after skiing. What a treat, live music, cheap beer selection, sat outside and it was snowing, met fun people from back East and really enjoyed it. What a cool little place! After hurting myself all morning on the slopes, the comforting artisan style pizza was a nice warming welcome. The grilled cheese sandwich as simple as it sounds was the best we've had! This is a great stop and we will spend more time here for breakfast, etc when we return to Park City! It would also be a nice place to kick back and have some beers after skiing!

So my latest visit my boss was awesome enough to buy myself and co-workers food. The service we received was very disappointing, especially since it was a fair amount of money that was being spent. One of the girls ordered a salad but got a sandwich, which led to almost argument between her and the employee not wanting to give her the correct meal. I ordered a hamburger and it was okay, but my fries were definitely overdone. I've had several more experiences that I haven't written about, so the drop in rating isn't just for one visit but because of several visits since my last review. I really want to like this place because when they are on, their are delicious and the employees are great. Unfortunately, when Silver Star has a bad day, your food and mood suffers. There is no doubt that this place is convenient to eat at but that is the only reason why I would eat here at this point. I hope that future eaters that visit the restaurant more then once have better luck than I. The biggest improvement to this restaurant could be 1. portions and 2. guest service recovery.

Guess they don't serve my type of people... too bad, would have loved to try the food! Arrived around 8 with friends from out of town. First, they refused to seat us in spite of multiple open tables; saying that the wait staff was having trouble keeping up... this in spite of less than 25% of tables being occupied. We decided to wait anyway... finally asked staff member "can we sit there?" pointing to an empty table. With some reluctance they allowed our small group of 5 to sit at one of the 8+ open tables. We proceeded to wait for service for ~40 mins ...it's now after 9pm and the restaurant is nearly empty with almost all the other patrons having already left ...by now the wait staff is counting their tips. Still no service. Finally left, and found another restaurant... ended up having a great meal and good time... albeit much later than planned. Not sure what it was about us... apparently we were not entitled to eat there. Fortunately there are plenty of other good restaurants in Park City.

I love to come to The Silver Star! It looks over the Park City Golf course up Thaynes Canyon. In the summer is it quiet and peaceful. They have new wait staff so the service is good. This is a hidden gem, I only found out about it on Yelp. They have outside and inside dining. Outside they have colorful umbrellas and a seperate patio like setting. If you have a dog, this is the place! The water bowls and a place to tie up your dog if you don't want them at your feet or on your lap. On my first visit I had Chipotle BBQ Pulled pork sandwich with cabbage-carrot slaw. It was wonderful! My husband had the fish tacos which he also loved. Saturday I had brunch. They have a seperate menu and I ordered the huevos ranchero. They serve the coffee in Silver Star Mugs and the coffee kept coming! The brunch menu changes each week-go to their website for the menu: thesilverstarcafe.com It is located at the base of the Silver Star chairlift. Go there on your first day and you will be back every day!

Tonight was the second night we visited Silver Star. The first time we had apps and drinks and really liked it. Tonight was very different. The same hummus from before was totally different and not very good and both my husband and I ordered the tacos. He had the fish tacos and I had the trio and both were not good. Pretty bummed to take time to spend a night out, drop $55 and have food that was bland and just plain unappetizing. Big disappointment. We both commented that the fish didn't smell fresh, the chicken and pork had no flavor, the corn tortillas fell apart and the side dish of a tiny scoop of black bean salad had no flavor. Thankfully it came with two wedges of watermelon and a bought a yummy chocolate chip cookie ;) I never write negative posts and I was so close to saying something to the staff (which I have never done in my life), but the disappointment and the cost upset me tonight. I was so excited about this hidden gem, beautiful location, the ambience and view are amazing, but I don't know now if I will be going back or if I do it will only be for a drink :(

The combination of the food, the layout, the view and an ambiance second to none to in Park City makes this a top spot. Food portions are small but the quality dominates quantity. Staff is spot on and the owners will happily bring you a blanket if you look cold. Live music is a huge plus. Be prepared for a pricy bill but you get what you pay for without a doubt. In a town where restaurants aren't that impressive, this place stands above the rest. Highly recommend if you want to give someone the full Park City experience in one meal. A wait could occur if you don't make a reservation so call ahead if you can. Great for meat lovers and vegetarians alike. Highly recommend the Feta-Watermelon salad to start off and their steak. Dolce leche chocolate cake is a good send off.

"Poor form, Peter !!!!!!!" -Professionalism: 1 out of 10 (the scale is 1 to 10) -Customer Service: 1 out of 10 -Common Sense: 1 out of 10 -Idiocy: 10 out of 10 -Missing the Point: 10 out of 10 -Sympathy for customers standing outside in the rain: 1 out of 10 I concede that these guys MAY have good food --- but their SERVICE is so, so, so, so bad; it's the worst!! Saturday I took my family to the Silver Star Cafe to celebrate my sons birthday; a joyous occasion!! We arrived at the Silver Star at 5:25pm exactly. Their sign said "Open at 5:30" and there literally was NO ONE else there the entire time we were there (until 5:42PM ... when we left drenched from a rainy down-pour). The hostess with the least-est told us, "You cannot come in to the restaurant until we are open and I cannot seat you until 5:30" and "We are so busy that we cannot seat you inside." No joke, there literally was NO NONE ELSE THERE the entire time we were there. So, my family and I waiting outside ... no menus, no waters, no communication. And then it started to rain pretty hard on us (from 5:32 to 5:40 --- we were all huddled under a small umbrella but still got wet). My wife had enough and ran to the car in the rain with my little kids. I walked into the restaurant, trying to get someones attention at 5:42 --- but the manager was too busy teaching the servers how to up-sell their clients alcohol. NO ONE came over to help me --- not even one of the two hostesses. That is completely UNPROFESSIONAL and IMPOLITE. I finally interrupted their 'cult meeting' and one of the hostesses came over ... I told her what horrible service they have and that I would be writing this review. My review: YOU SUCK Silver Star Cafe !!!!

Went there this morning with my family. The hostess was sweet and we were sat right away. Our server acted like there were a million places he'd rather be. He was kind of nice, but not in a genuine way. The breakfast menu was tiny with really nothing to offer the kids. The waffle, was teeny (for $12) and over cooked. My breakfast included cold eggs, undercooked, cold potatoes (that were too spicy) to eat and over cooked, crumbly bacon. Needless to say, never again.

Stopped for a late lunch & ended up hitting the trailhead that lies about 20 feet from the patio. Gorgeous watermelon/feta/radish salad dressed in blueberry & darned worthy Pimm's Cup w/a twist, warm service (they even helped me cheat on my diet with an off-menu half-order of fries so I wouldn't gorge myself). Silver Star is firmly a locals' spot. In Park City that usually means you won't be completely fleeced, just a little trim off the sides. The ambiance and the view is 5 stars. And the breakfast&lunch menu is pretty appropriately priced. You will get a substantial amount of food, well-prepared; smooth service and a very relaxed atmosphere. It is, after all, just food -- and not a pilgrimage. Ski-in lunch here during the season is a notch above anything available on the mountain.

One of our park city favorites! Service is always phenomenal and food is delish! Ordered the charcuterie plate an shrimp and grits for appetizers, osso buca, salmon (it's seared!!!! So yummy!), mushroom stragonoff, and kale and quinoa salad. Salted caramel brownie for dessert. Yummmmmm We love coming here for all meals and their fries are amazing too!

Pretty disappointed- Fist off they were not terribly busy. We got a table in less than 3 min. However after that we were flat out ignored. The table adjacent to ours, who sat down after us, was visited by the wait staff and had their order taken. When the waiter came out again after taking the other table's order and still didn't come over to us, we just left.

After a 10 mile hike and much needed lunch, this place definitely hit the spot. It's a small eatery located in Park City. It's quaint, cozy, and ideal for grabbing a bite with family before or after a day of hiking or skiing. We made it just in time for lunch (served 11-3) and I ordered the House-Roasted Turkey Cubano on (the best part!) gluten-free bread. The menu designates which items are gluten-free (GF) or vegetarian (V) and states that you can sub gluten-free bread on any sandwich for only $1 extra, which is great. After a long day, I was definitely craving something a little more filling than a salad, so I really appreciated them having gf options. I also ordered a gluten-free beer (Omission is their gf beer and it's actually pretty good). This was a nice change from most restaurants that only serve cider - way too sweet for me and I'm sick of it after 2 sips. Overall, pleasant dining experience and I'd definitely visit again next time I'm in town.

Thank you for such an amazing dinner experience. Ammie was a phenomenal server who took the time to go over the menu and was very knowledgable of the food and wine. The osso bucco is off the charts amazing. The meat fell right off the bone and was so tender. The corn chowder that was with the dish was amazing. Dessert presentations were so cute and some of the best I have had in a long time. I loved that the owners checked on us and gave us blankets when the temperature cooled down. Thank you! $16 corkage and small salad portions otherwise 5 stars. Park City is notoriously a rip-off and this restaurant is small and popular hence higher prices. That being said - friendly service and great food. Surprisingly the veggie stroganoff wasn't as flavorful as I expected. I wanted to add salt and pepper to make it work, but instead dipped it in the lovely sauce that accompanied the pork shank Osso Bucco which was outstanding. The clams app and the cauliflower special were also extremely good. There are about 6 tables on the patio that have a primo view of the golf course and rolling mountains opposite side of the ski resorts. The other tables are also very pleasant with an extremely relaxing vibe in the summer. I am unsure of the winter setup.

The food was amazing. The pizza was great to split with two and they were made with inventive ingredients. The decor is homey and cozy with big windows overlooking the golf course. A great place to come to after a hike or even just to go!

We used to go here regularly and never experienced such a disappointing meal as we had today. The brisket toasted cheese sandwich sounds like a great combo but the execution was horrendous with slices of fat instead of brisket (and I exaggerate not!). A nice peaceful place to go for a good breakfast. Friendly service and a home-cooked atmosphere with reasonable prices (especially for Park City). A bit off the beaten track, if you are staying downtown, you would want to drive rather than walk. Does not take reservations for breakfast, first come first served, but if you get there before 10 you shouldn't have any wait.

I've been to Silver Star twice in the past 3-4 months and my first experience back in April was 5 Stars. However, my experience in June was just 3 Stars. They've made some changes (albeit seasonal in some cases) to the menu and how they do things, which I don't necessarily agree with. The menu is now much smaller, which typically would be fine, but they've got to do the 5-10 things that are on the menu really well, and I don't think that they did. Back in April I had the braised short-ribs and the cardamom cheesecake and it literally blew me away. SO GOOD! In June I ordered the stroganoff and it was just okay. Neither the cheesecake or shortrib was on the menu. Also, they've decided that they no longer serve fountain soda, only real sugar soda. Which means that every time I want a refill on my diet coke it's going to cost me $2.50 for the whole bottle. I'm not a drinker, so I don't really understand the concept of paying for tons of drinks. I want to drop $4 and drink all the diet coke I can stomach. Just me.

Nice place with a great location but the food was terrible. . We took some out of town guests for brunch and the good was embarrassing. . My huevos rancheros was dry tortillas topped with poached eggs and some salsa. There was maybe 4 beans under the eggs. The biscuits had dry burned biscuits. The fresh squeezed grape fruit juice was from a can and tasted like it was fermented. I am not super picky but if you screw up most of the food there is a problem in the kitchen and the bar.

If the soul were a real thing, you'd burn in hell because Mormon Jesus would have betrayed you all in for the braised short rib. Seriously. It's that damn good. This place is amazing. The Tito's organic vodka martini was delicious. The sauce the mussels were prepared in was so tasty, we ordered extra bread just to maximize the experience. The short rib came surrounded by a wonderful risotto, braised Brussels sprouts, and carrots, all wonderfully prepared. Service was great and the prices were very reasonable, especially in light of the quality. Highly recommended.

Used to be a favorite. But the last few times it was a ridiculous disappointment. Had horrible service and the food has gone down hill. By poor service I mean one time I never even received my meal. the waitress could not have cared less. The manager was not concerned and no word from the owner who seemed to be floating around to other tables but not to ours. I don't understand what has happened to the food either - it used to be so good. Now it is greasy and thrown together. So disappointing as it's a great location.

Last time we tried to eat there it was 8:15 on a weeknight and there were 10 open tables outside and we were told we had to sit inside because all those outside tables were reserved. I'm pretty sure that by that time of evening they should have served the people ready to spend their $$ there instead of waiting for those they hoped would show. We left.

A restaurant with beautiful views over a golf course and across the valley framed with mountains. I've been here many times and I have particularly enjoyed it for lunch as they have lovely fresh plates such as BLTS and sandwiches including some gluten free options. They also have good coffee. I have been here for breakfast, however, and I found the breakfast menu a bit limited and the food more bland. In contrast the lunch and afternoon tea meals have all been classy and tasty.

We came on a Saturday night without a reservation and even though there were no tables really open, they were still able to get us seated inside so we could eat and watch St Bohéme play. This was probably the best dinner date I've been on. The service and professionalism was phenomenal. The chicken was the best chicken I've ever had and the steak was wonderful. I definitely can't wait to come back. Such a great experience.

A Must Go!! I came to Park CIty a few weekends ago on a whim because the BF had a conference at one of the resorts there. I wasn't expecting to be too impressed with the food offerings there after spending a week in NYC. For most of the weekend, that turned out to the be true, but Silver Star Cafe was a pleasant exception. We came for a late dinner and loved everything about it. The awesome bluegrass duo, Jake and Rebekah Workman, performing. Their live music fit perfectly into the cute, rustic theme of the restaurant. The music wasn't too loud (which usually is an issue with live music, in my opinion), so we could still have a conversation. Our server was very attentive, regularly filling our waters and being a good sport about us wanting to split everything. For our food, we ordered and shared the following: Appetizers: ARUGULA SALAD (Grape tomatoes, fingerling potatoes, red onion and snap peas): The BF loved this. I didn't think it was anything special, especially when I'm subjected to fancy salads everyday for lunch in SF Fidi, but it did feel very light and healthy! BUTTERNUT SQUASH RAVIOLI: Off the Special's menu. This was my favorite of the night! I can never resist butternut squash... or any non-cheese ravioli! This surprisingly filled me up, so much so that I couldn't finish my main course. Main: BRAISED BEEF SHORT RIB: Huge portion, very tender and flavorful. It comes with risotto which I'm generally not a huge fan of, but I found it to be tasty and worked well with the short rib. At the end of the meal, both of us were stuffed for having only ordered 2 appetizers and a main. For the size of the meal, the price was definitely worth it. I highly recommend this place! PRO TIP: This place is a bit hard to find, especially in the dark! Be on the look out for a sign pointing towards the restaurant on the right side of the road when you're driving up.

Wow, what a terrific night we had at Silver Star Café, 3 couple table of 6 from NY living in PC in the summer. Food - amazing (crazy Osso Bucco!! Rock Fish delicious) prices very fair, great wine, setting and atmosphere - outdoor table, beautiful sky and scenery overlooking PC and facing up the Silver Star lift and mtn. Service - this is what made the night. the folks that took care of us made the night incredibly memorable. Maddy was friendly, fund and helpful, Andrew took great care of us and other Maddie was amazing too, Ivan - friendly and cool always there when we needed something. That is what made this a very special night. if it were only great food and setting, would not have been as amazing, you have some great people there that made the experience incredible.

What a pleasant relief from the restaurants of Main Street in Park City. This is a small, out-of-the-way restaurant with some of the best views in town. The food was superb. We had the artisanal cheese and paté plate to start. The chicken liver paté may have been some of the best I have ever had. Then my wife and I split short ribs over some exquisitely done mashed potatoes. Yes, it was comfort food and great comfort food at that. Better yet, the ambiance here is relaxed. Maybe it is just me, but at the bulk of Main Street restaurants I feel various degrees of pressure to move on so the table can be turned. That may just be the economic demands of the rents there. The Silver Star Cafe gave me a whole other feeling, one we enjoyed very much.

WOW! Absolutely blown away! Great food! Great service! Amazing views! Came here with three others for brunch on a Saturday morning in early September. I had their signature breakfast, a bowl of fruit, a coffee, and a mimosa. WOW! Everything was so FRESH and made perfectly! I did not want the food to end! Our server, Doug, was AWESOME! I wish all servers were as great as him! We sat on the patio overlooking the golf course... that view... on a clear late summer day... PRICELESS. You will be blown away by how well that view complements the food and service. Next time I'm in Park City, I will definitely try to stop by and at least have a coffee with that view. This could have easily been a 5 star review had it not been for the worst front of the house service, and a Bloody Mary that was touted as made with fresh horseradish except it had no horseradish. The two young women manning the front of the house were a huge disservice to this gem of a restaurant: inattentive, disorganized with a hint of attitude thrown in. The Bloody Mary disaster was quickly attended to by providing us fresh horseradish which made the Bloody Mary much better. A word to the barkeep: tell the customer that you don't have the ingredient rather than making a drink that is total crap. Must say the food was excellent.

I came here on New Year's Day. Not to be ironic. Not that it would be ironic. But I am just stating, it was not to be ironic. It was also not to be many things other than fed. I was fed. I was fed pretty well...though I was hungry a few moments after and I think that is mostly my own fault for having a voracious appetite. Anyway, they have some gluten free options on the menu and that's pretty cool for people like me who swing that way. I ordered the turkey reuben and it was pretty dope. But, I wasn't sure if I wanted that or - insert something else I can't remember because I didn't actually have it here - and I asked our waitress which one she would choose if she were me. Her answer was useless. "Well, it really depends what you want." "Uh huh. That's why I asked you. I don't know what I want." "The reuben is good, you know, if you're in a cheesy kind of mood." "What? There's cheese on it?" "Well, no." "So what do you mean?" Long Pause "You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu." I ordered the reuben despite her terrible recommendation. I think it was her first day and if it wasn't I hope for her sake it was her second day. I had memorized the menu better than she had by the time I had finished skimming it that morning. Someone in our group ordered a burger and she had to look on the menu to see what it was called. I think it was called "burger". Overall, not a big deal, but come on. I wouldn't have even cared that much except it took a long time for our food to come out and there weren't that many people in the place. Oh yeah, and we got there at 10:30am and breakfast was no longer being served. Breakfast ends at 10am. On New Year's Day. You can call yourself Silver Star all you want but I'm only giving you three of them. And one of em is only because you had gluten free bread. Otherwise, dos stars!

We had lunch here recently and were very impressed. We sat at a great outside table overlooking the golf course and the city. Service was decent. Lemonade was house made, very tasty. Gazpacho soup excellent. Waldorf salad and Reuben sandwich were both happily devoured. Ok. I get it! The econmy is still rough, employing competent people who are hardworking might be difficult, but owners need to step it up. This last year, I went in 4 times-mostly over the winter. This is Park FU@king City. I am paying PARK CITY prices. I EXPECT PARK CITY service. Get it together before we all forget it forever. What a disappointment.

We ate here for Sunday brunch. The food was great, but service was unprofessional. The waitress and host were very nice, however, they continuously let us know what issues were going on in the background. When the waitress greeted the table, she immediately commented how she would rather be elsewhere, which may be true, but it didn't make us, as customers, feel very welcome. There were a few very minor delays, and the staff kept telling us that the kitchen messed up and was behind. We were seated by the hostess station, and they also were telling customers coming to put their name in for a table that the kitchen was very behind (which I would have never known, because our food didn't take THAT long). On a happier note, I had the quiche and it was amazing! The potatoes were good, too. Our group also ordered a plate of the banana French toast (we just couldn't resist trying it) and it was to die for! I would definitely give this place another shot next time I am in the area. They are so close to being great!! "Less history, more mystery" would be a good mantra for the employees.

Nice atmosphere and a tucked away location with a great patio and views but the food itself was mediocre at best and NOT cheap. Dinner for four with drinks was $180, a bust for the meal we actually ate. Completely over-cooked and subpar quality steak with tons of gristle, about dulled the steak knife trying to get thru this piece of meat. No sauce or demi-glaze just a sizzler type steak with asparagus and bland potatoes. Trout dish came out looking like an appetizer at best, skin way over cooked but otherwise decent. We had good service and otherwise enjoyed this place, but never again for dinner. Maybe another time for lunch with a beer and a burger but for the price point avoid this place at all costs if dinner is on your mind. Just saying -

I love taking family and friends from out of town here, its just a good restaurant and not overrated. I have enjoyed brunch, lunch, drinks, and dinner here for a variety of occasions. I always enjoy the live music Thursdays-Saturdays. The staff is attentive (sometimes too attentive) and usually helpful with suggestions. And the location is incredible. The atmosphere is cozy and just close enough to Main St. I love when the weather cooperates and we can sit outside, but the view from inside is just as good. And the parking is much easier than many other locations! One of my first choices for a night out, but its so good I almost don't want to tell anyone about it:)

We really enjoyed the ambiance. It's like being in someone's home. My boyfriend is a burger connoisseur and said this was the best burger he had this vacation. I had breakfast and my eggs were done perfectly (no one ever gets it right!) it came with homemade sausage patties, delicious wheat toast, yummy home potatoes.. And we also had the blueberry streusel which was warm and loaded with blue berries and not too sweet. We had a great table with a glorious view, perfect service, and we even met the owner Jeff who thanked us for coming in. 5 star experience!

I went in expecting too much perhaps. The things I liked the most were the location, the view, and the restaurant decor. The real test, however, is the food. It was good and you could tell it was made with care, but it was a bit too basic. Nothing really stood out to me. All in all, I'm glad I went, but probably won't go out of my way to rush back.

I love this place, when I discovered it a couple of seasons ago, it was often quite lonely. A secret place at the bottom of a lesser travelled ski run. Not now. It is good, there is outside seating with tables, chairs and some sofas. On a sunny day this is an excellent choice to take your break while skiing. It is just a few steps from the lift so you are soon back on the slopes. They serve you quickly, the staff are friendly and the owner or manager is always prowling around so the staff stay lively. This is Utah, no alcohol without food, but you can order homemade sweet potato chips or something similar as your "meal". The menu is quite extensive and everyone should find something agreeable. At night they often have live music and I would advise a reservation at the weekend. It's cool, off Main St so better prices but similar quality and worthy the exploration. P.S. There is a friendly little bulldog that roam around in between the tables, don't feed her!

Mulled wine, mussels in Thai coconut milk/lemongrass/curry/basil, white bean hummus, pork belly with white beans, BBQ, and caramel used apples, braised short ribs and holy barley risotto, and I'm about to have the fig cake for dessert. Pure heaven. Hard to find, but worth a guiding call in. Music on weekend evenings necessitates reservations, so call first. Great view of the golf course or the silver star lift.

I entered Silver Star and was immediately greeted by the unique personality. Service was prompt and cordial. I was seated in a comfortable booth adorned with pillows lending to the rustic feel of the establishment. The booth had a wonderful mountain view and looked over golf course below. The server was extremely friendly and prompt. The food however stole the show. I ordered a burger with fries and it looked as good as such a staple could. The "heaping slab of bacon" as the server put it was a lovely complement to the nieman ranch beef (all ground in house may I add) and fresh cut french fries were wonderful. I tried a bowl of thier vannila ice cream and although it did not have the same flair as thr main course, it was good nontheless. My only complaint was there were few flues in the window, somthing the owner apologized for ahead of time (as a park city resident I know it can be tough to control those six legged mongrels.) All in all it was a great experience and you can bet your bottom dollar I will return. Silver Star is a hidden gem off park city.

I ordered a Turkey BLC sandwich to go because they were so busy and few tables were available. The sandwich was good and so were the fries. I was disappointed in how long it took to get someone to take my order. There was no designated cashier/barback to take care of carry out customers or help servers with drinks. I had to wait for one of the servers to be free to take my order and then hand it to me when it was done.

Very good quality food. Selection is not large, however everyone will find something they like at Silver Star. Reasonable wine list, heavy on American wines. Hot Mulled Wine is a great addition to the menu - there's nothing better after a long day skiing. Burger is premium quality. Tomato basil soup tasted very good. Quinoa salad was Ok. Service was friendly. Reservations are recommended because the place is popular. Inside Silver Star cafe is very cute, it has wonderful views on one side. Sometimes there's live music in the evenings.

Silver Star Cafe; they even have live music. She was right. Just above the hill overlooking the Park City GC and the Hotel Park City is the locally owned gem. I wanted lite and got lite. A definite must for anyone with a refined palate and requires gluten free item.

Beautiful view, fantastic patio. Very good food for a very decent price. Very good drinks. The ginger in the "White Mule" was strong and satisfying. I didn't care for the "Kitschy" decor. A prep person or cook or dishwasher, not sure, walked through the dining room. He was wearing very dirty (disgusting) jeans and an apron to match. Management should not allow this. Take some pride in your appearance.

I found this restaurant through the DDD app (diners drive ins and dives) The restaurant itself is very quaint, and has a nice atmosphere as well as some nice views. Upon arriving, we were seated very quickly. After that, we sat at the table for over 15 minutes before our waiter even approached us. In the meantime, when the hostess seated us, she mentioned she 'didn't know if she could find a menu' because they had a larger party in there earlier. She arrived with one (stained with wine etc) for the two of us. On to the food. We ordered a cheese plate, and the new england corn chowder. The waiter did not ask what kind of cheeses we liked/preferred. The corn chowder was very good...I'm from new england, and I can say it tasted a bit like back home. The cheese...(did I mention both dishes were brought by the bus boy, and the waiter did not come over to explain what we were eating i.e. on the cheese plate), was ok at best. On to the main courses (also brought by the bus boy, waiter did check in part way thought, so an improvement there). We wanted to order the vegetarian mushroom stroganoff, but were informed they 'ran out' when 'someone did not show up to work' to make the dish. No big deal...so we ordered the roasted boneless half chicken, and the scollop and corn risotto. The chicken was pretty good. Cooked well, veggies that came with it very good. The sauce that the veggies were in was a bit on the vinegar based side. The Scallops were mediocre at best. Two of them were browned on one side, the third I'm not entirely sure was cooked all the way through (presentation not great, scallops flipped over browned side down, I think to hide that one was not fully cooked/did not match the others). The risotto was really not great. The flavoring still needed some work (in my opinion). The waiter had mentioned that it was a newer item on the menu. It had a strong mint flavor, with corn, and overall just tasted very springy/tart, but not in a good way. To top all of this off...I felt sick afterwards, and my boyfriend (who ate the chicken dish) felt very sick late last night/into this morning. I can honestly say that I WILL NOT be returning to this restaurant anytime soon. It seems as though other users have had better luck with other menu items, but I would stay far away from the scallop and risotto.

I hover between 3 and 4. In the end with two visits it's still a 4. It's just that they made a pretty big deal about getting the level that the steaks should be cooked just right and then overcooked them all. On the first trip up we had lunch, sat out on the patio, drank some beer and watched people golf down below. We brought our rat terrier and all had a good time. Yesterday, we were inside. The service was excellent. All the food that wasn't steak was cooked just OK, but tasted excellent. The food and beer is fairly priced. I'd still come back -- for lunch.

I wavered between a 4 and a 5 on this one. Everything about the Silver Star was great, from the food and service to the atmosphere. We arrived between lunch and dinner and had to wait a half hour before we could order, but the outdoor sectionals were plentiful and inviting and the weather couldn't be beat. The view from the dining patio was worth the wait. Between the seven of us we had: * Steamed mussels with lemongrass and curry (really tasty but maybe a tad sweet) * Burger and fries (fries were amazing!) * Pork with grits (heard several, "mmm, this pork is so good and tender) * Pizza with sausage (crust was delicious, sausage and sauce were pretty good) * Meatballs with corn cakes (meatballs were spicy and flavorful) * Green beans (they were green beans. But they were fresh and well cooked!) * Artichoke dip and pita (really good) It was honestly a delightful meal, one of the best we've had since moving to PC. It's off the beaten path so it wasn't as crazy as being in Old Town, parking was great, Drew was an attentive and pleasant server, and the hand made tables and indoor decor was phenomenal. Oh, did I mention there's a lift up to Park City Mountain Resort outside the front door!? Can't wait to go back!

sl dissappointed. went for lunch today. very busy and sat near the kitchen and could see stuff going out. I dont know why their selling so many burgers. kind of ordinary looking burger. couldn~t say how it taste. i ordered the grilled chicken salad. dont. overcooked chicken, nothing the write home about greens and dressing. could use something. wifes fish tacos were good. tomato curry soup was great. they serve a late brunch or breakfast items till 2 pm.. over all ok, not sure it~s worth waiting for a table. btw..the pizzas did look pretty good. maybe next time if i go.

We had dinner here our first night in Park City. It set the bar high! Atmosphere was casual and amazing. Views great. But the food- where do I begin?! We started with the crispy pork belly, and a salad topped with quinoa and poached pears. For dinner, we ordered the braised short ribs, a maple pork chop special, a burger, and pork osso buco. We finished with a pear apple tart and a salted Carmel brownie. EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious! They also have a nice cocktail and beer list, including several locally produced libations. Service was great, and the prices were the best we found in Park City. Don't miss this place when your in park city. It's easy to get to on the blue bus line. Enjoy!

Food came out cold for all 6 of us. Even heated up the food was over priced and mostly tasteless. I had huevos rancheros which were not great. Again, they were bland. The chorizo wasn't good either. There wasn't enough food on the plate to warrant a $14 price. The service was mediocre at best. Not a place I'd go back to for brunch or any meal for that matter.

Terrible service. Went there two times in three days and the manager was very rude with us. Burger was severely undercooked. Silverstar Cafe has declined rapidly over the past two years when it used to be a cozy small restaurant with great service and food.

The vegetable stew was perfect for a cool autumn night and the carrot cake is devine. The view is unbelievable and there's soft dinner music performed by a live band on the weekends. It has an intimate, romantic feel to it but is also nice for gathering with a small group of close friends. Loved it!

Sorry but the worse cheeseburger ever. Last time I was there in Jan I had great food. But today was bad. Mentioned it to my neighbor and they said the owner must have feedback because the chef left and since then it's not been great. Drinks, service and view was wonderful...

Great place with amazing food. Extra amazing when live music is playing. Beautiful views during the day and very conveniently located for a lunch break during a busy ski day. Right next to the base of the Silver Star lift and Silver Star Ski rentals.

Great restaurant. We always take our out of town guests here because the food is good, the prices are reasonable, and we love the atmosphere. The only negative is that the service is really inconsistent. We've had terrible service, we've had ok service, and we've had great service. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant above the many overpriced restaurants in Park City.

A quaint, cozy little restaurant with a great view. I stopped in with the parents the night after Christmas, as the rest of the town was an absolute zoo. The interior itself isn't huge, but when the weather is nice they have a nice, expansive outdoor seating area that features live music each week. Only 2 beers on draft, but a good selection of bottles as well, including Bard's, a gluten-free beer. I went with the Margherita pizza and really enjoyed it-the cheese in particular was really tasty. The staff is great, very professional and nice. Overall, the Silver Star Cafe is worth stopping into when you're in Park City, especially during the spring/summer when you can enjoy the outdoor seating.
