Looking for a casual post hike lunch, this place was recommended to us by some locals who love eating here. Hearing about the good view of the pond/lake from the patio area sealed the deal! I initially thought this was a grocery store but actually it's more like a café that has a few grocery items. My wife and I split a BLT sandwich and tuna melt while our friend got a salad and the soup trio. The BLT and our friend's soup and salad came out first, so I started with half of the BLT. It was pretty tasty, the bacon was nice and crispy, the produce was fresh, and the bread was good. It was one of my wife's favorite foods on our trip. Our friend enjoyed her soups and salad, especially the corn chowder. My tuna melt came out more than 5 minutes after the other food, which was a little puzzling to me. I wasn't a big fan of it, perhaps because of the dill seasoning I think they use. However, the portion size was good. Staff was friendly and overall a good experience except for the late arriving tuna melt.

Great community cafe . Wonderful patio, staff is very friendly If could suggest something to the managment, it would be to offer a verity cheese & wine plater . We enjoyed this establishment . I'm not sure if the prices justify the food .

Really good deer-valley-quality food! Location is very convenient - inside The Deer Valley Plaza, right where deer valley dr loop splits to go around the lake - and you avoid the skier crowds, in case you're just craving deer valley delicious food. There is a free shuttle that takes you to deer valley resort. They offer convenience products like bread and cheeses as well. I had the fish tacos, they were ok but not as good as the fish tacos in Empire Canyon Lodge. My husband had the chicken tandoori wrap and it was delicious! They serve breakfast until 1130, and lunch from 1130 on. Coffees are also really good. I'd recommend it for a quick bite!

The sandwiches here are amazing. I had a chutney sandwich which I highly recommend, though from what I've heard the rest are good too. Don't forget to take your sandwhich out to the patio for a great view.

Kind of random location. We thought we were in the wrong place at first. It's a hidden gem. Yummy food. Huge latte's in big stone ware mugs. And an awesome patio.

I wrote a 5 star review for this on yelp previously (it was misnamed then) and nothing much has changed -- the ingredients are excellent, the staff is friendly, the patio rocks. But they keep raising prices and the plates are no longer decorated with edible flowers. So let's say I dropped a star for inflation. It happens.

I was really impressed with the menu - creative interesting dishes that tasted delicious. They source locally from Copper Moose farm - one if the best organic/biodynamic farms I know of anywhere. And it showed. Truly great greens and other veggies. My husband loved his chicken enchilada and I was thrilled with my falafel, tzatziki sauce and mixed greens. The special sounded amazing, as did the butternut squash and shittake enchiladas. Just look at the pictures. The food is as good as it looks, and the outdoor seating is wonderful.

DON'T BLINK OR YOU WILL MISS IT ! After driving by 100 times, I stopped to see what the hoopla was about. There are some things I will pay a lot of money for, and some things I won't. Most of the items here I WON'T . There were some divine looking pastries, but I just knew they were made with real butter as we are talking DEER VALLEY KITCHENS here, so a negatory on them. But then....what is that in the rear of the case ??? a..a...a... personal size petite bacon quiche in a little fluted pan? So what if it is 3 in the afternoon, I'm quiching it and no one can stop me !! Granted, I had to wait forever for the chef to heat it up, but boy oh boy. By the time I bit into it, it was piping hot from the oven and tasted fresh, not a reheat. The crust was melt in your mouth and F L A K E Y .. I did not know an egg pie could be that divine. The only thing that could have possibly made it better was some cut fruit to accompany it. By pass the other things and get the quiche.

What a find! Because it was close to our condo, my friend and I stopped in at the Deer Valley Grocery-Cafe, selected various items from the menu and decided to bring dinner home. What a surprise! Our choices were awesome. A simple BLT turned into a gourmet delight prepared on a fabulous 7 grain bread. The gazpacho, dolloped with guacamole was so delicious that I wished I had ordered a larger portion. There wasn't anything that disappointed. We were so bowled over with the quality of the food that we returned for dinner the following evening to order some of the more unique offerings on the menu. I ordered a chicken enchilada to die for while my friend more than enjoyed a crispy quinoa over baked salmon. The preparation and presentation of each selection was outstanding. There is an outdoor dining deck which overlooks a small, lovely pond. This casual dining cafe offers a unique twist and you can't go wrong whether you dine in....or take out. The experience is greatly enhanced thanks to Janine Troilo, the top-notch manager of the Deer Valley Grocery-Cafe. Warm, friendly and helpful, Janine is a pure delight. Don't miss this experience. It's a winner on all fronts.

Secret place.....worth finding. i was in Park City to buy season passes while the prices are lower and I dropped into this place for a late lunch. It is a little strangely located, sandwiched in between Real Estate offices in a small complex about 1/2 mile before you get to the main Deer Valley resort. Easy to park and you walk into what looks like a small deli but also selling souvenirs, they sell mainly nicer paninis, pizzas. When I was there they had a special pheasant pot pie, not a huge pie but certainly well presented and delicious. I sat on the deck in the rear because it was a very fine autumn day but I imagine during ski season it might get a little cozy inside? Anyway, I like and I will be back.

I got sick from eating here. The food was suspect from the start. It came out dry and room temp. Two hours later I fell sick. Please save yourself the illness and find another place to eat.

The name is a bit as a misnomer as this place is more café than grocery. You'll find a few boxes of pasta and perhaps a few other boutique market items in the grocery category. Otherwise, you can expect to find coffee, sandwiches, salads and pastries. We ordered a few sandwiches to go and found them to be tasty. The staff was friendly and busy as bees. The biggest upside to Deer Valley Grocery and Café is that it has a nice outdoor deck overlooking a little river, green grass and the mountains.

A fantastic experience! Food and service was excellent - the staff could not have been nicer. The menu has something for everyone and you have a beautiful view from the balcony. We highly recommend for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Whomever came up with the concept for this place is an abject moron. You place your order at a tiny counter in a space littered with random overpriced dry goods and a case stocked with impossibly expensive take home entrees- hello $20 pizzas! Then you sit to wait for your food at tables spaced much too closely together. I came here for lunch with a friend today because he had a two for one coupon. At $10 a sandwich you'd think they would give you at the very least a side of chips. Come on, at prices like these I expect to have wait service. I understand that it's Deer Valley pricing, but where's the Deer Valley Service? The bread was good but nothing to write home about.

As a local we always went to the Stew Pot with friends for lunch. Food was excellent and the employees helpful. Deer Valley Cafe replaced the Stew Pot when they closed down. The service is dreadful...even if the restaurant is almost empty it doesn't improve. The manager is rude and unprofessional. Although it is nice to sit on the deck....it is not worth putting up with bad service.

This is my go-to lunch spot! This place has great sandwiches, soups, and on the weekends... breakfast! If you like soup... do the sampler trio. A must have breakfast choice... the french toast!

Blah. A blah overpriced wannabe restaurant that the tables were dirty the staff grumpy and the food mediocre

Reliable cafe for a Sunday brunch. It's not full service or white linen so come in your cozy pants and expect a very casual experience. If you have a savory palate, try the breakfast panini with ham, bacon, AND sausage (AKA the Meatlovers Panini... AKA El Diablo) it'll cost ya'! but you won't be disappointed. Friends ordered the breakfast wrap with avocado and potato, the oatmeal, and regular breakfast panini- everyone walked away satisfied (far as I know.) The breakfast experience, coffee / espresso, pastry and baked goods, views of Park City and cozy patio furniture are well worth your time. Customer service was also pleasant- we were offered liftee jackets due to the chilly weather and food came out quickly and with a smile. Prices are a little high, but will def going back!!

Ask for Meg! She's the best! First came here well over a year ago, and enjoyed the outdoor deck overlooking the creek and the base of the mountain.....lunches are really great! Sure, it's resort prices, but if you want something else in Park City, well, there's Mickey D's down the way....the panini are large and creative, and the soup/chili definitely hits the spot for a light lunch. They have a creative assortment of condiments and other kitchen favors that would be great for gifts or to make your own memorable meal in your ski resort vacation getaway! The staff has always been friendly and go out of the way to help answer questions and accommodate even the most challenging patron. When I think of Deer Valley, my mouth waters for the cafe's unique menu! You can even get pre-done entrees to take and reheat at your place! If you're looking for something quick with outdoor seating and scenery, this is your place!

The Deer Valley Grocery Cafe is a gem hidden at the base of Deer Valley. The food is exceptional and the staff top notch. Every item on the menu: from the fresh salads to unique blend of flavors in the panini's. It all is to die for. It is truly my favorite place to dine with my friends. The location is serene and quaint as you over look the pond during lunch or a morning cup of coffee. A must visit in Park City!

I saw a listing for Deer Valley Grocery Cafe in the Park City Menu Guide. The listing made promises of gourmet baked goods (you can stop right there), as well as take-home food items (pizzas, enchiladas, etc.) and eat-in sandwiches and the like. I was stuck on stopping by for three days straight until a lunch date with Dude's family and an old friend made it happen. I was a bit surprised to find it was just a tiny little store, no bigger than a small 7-Eleven. There were some tables (and also a nice patio outside), one display shelf of the "gourmet grocery items", a small fridge with the take-home foods, and a couple of glass display cases with the baked goods and whatnot. They offered standard luncheon fare: soups, sandwiches, salads, and some breakfast items. Also coffee beverages and some fountain sodas. I ordered a veggie wrap which, for the price, I feel should have come with an actual side (not just a crappy pickle). For something like $8, The Dude got a bowl of vegetarian soup du jour (that day: leek and wild mushroom with brie); it was a small bowl (more like a cup) served with some kind of fancy-looking crackers. His parents both ordered the BLT, which has the nice addition of yellow heirloom tomatoes (vs. standard red ones). And coming from a vegetarian, the BLTs looked pretty good, so take that for what it's worth. His sister got some kind of panini (that didn't actually have the pressed/grilled form) with chicken, pesto, bacon, and cheese; it looked very rich. None of the sandos came with any sort of side, but there was a bag of mixed potato chips for sale on the shelf for $8.95 (seriously). And no, it was not jumbo-mega-party size. It was like the size of a bag of Kettle Chips. Also, as a take-home treat I ordered a carrot cake cupcake, which we were told are made in-house and are sort of a signature of Deer Valley. Well, upon having it back at the condo, I was basically underwhelmed. It didn't taste any different than the carrot cake one can buy at Safeway. I ate the cupcake top (I like frosting, what can I say?) and threw the rest out. I also purchased a discounted day-old chocolate-chocolate chip cookie with white choco chips. It was equally "just okay" and certainly didn't blow me away. I get that it's sort-of technically around the resort of Deer Valley, which might explain the prices. The "gourmet grocery" items were things like overpriced mustards and salt blends -- nothing that really stuck out as worth buying. The cashier/barista also let my shots falls in the latte I ordered, so that wasn't so awesome. But the staff was all friendly, so I guess things even out. I won't make any special trips back up to DVGC, but for a one-time thing it certainly wasn't the worst thing to experience.

Small place great for breakfast on the way to the slopes. Coffee was good and strong. I got the challah French toast which was very very good but not made with challah bread as advertised which was a bit disappointing. Home fries were also very good. Overall I would come back.

I made a mistake and came here for lunch. What was I thinking? I wanted to try something new. I orded the fish taco lunch special for $ 9.50. there was nothing special at all about these two, small rather plain tacos. they did not even add a few chips to the plate. the tortillas tasted like they just cracked open a package and threw them on the plate cold. affer tax the "appetizer" lunch special cost me $ 10:30. Come here if you like to pay more and get less. i will not come back here.

Really tasty cafe style food similar to what you find at the DV restaurants slopeside. The turkey chili is great and they do have a decent selection of grocery type items and ready to heat meals. The prices are not too bad either. In the summer the outdoor patio is great on that little lake. I gave it only four star just because I think their menu and hours are limited.
