If you are someone who cannot resist tasty food, then at Zaxby's you can always try the Zalads. The best part about these salads is that you can customize it as per your needs. Make it grilled, fried or just go for the garden which can make your salad healthy and low on calories.
Foods to Avoid at Zaxby's for Diabetics
If you are diabetic, you must skip all the Drinks served at Zaxby's. There are only a couple of no sugar drinks, but they are merely empty calories and don't contain any nutritional value. You must also avoid food items on the Popular menu at Zaxby's such as Buffalo Chicken Finger plate and Chicken Finger Plate. These items are high in sugar and sodium which can be harmful to diabetics. You must also keep the Chicken wings order to a maximum five to control your sugar intake. Avoid BBQ, Teriyaki, and Sweet & Spicy sauces in your Chicken wings order.
Instead of ordering fried chicken wing servings, you can always request for a grilled sandwich with lettuce, onion, and tomatoes to counter high blood pressure. A sandwich calorie count can range between 900 to 1600 calorie which can be reduced by asking for healthier options.
Foods to Avoid at Zaxby's for High Blood Pressure
If you have high blood pressure, then you must avoid Boneless wings and Club Sandwich at Zaxby's. You should also skip Kickin' Chicken Sandwiches as well as Chicken Finger Sandwich to control your blood pressure levels. You must also skip the chicken wings with multiple dressings and sauces at Zaxby's from the popular menu. these food items on Zaxby's menu contain a very high amount of sodium.
You should also skip salted fries at Zaxby's with your wings or sandwich as fries will spike the sodium levels unnecessarily. It is also recommended not to try Zappetizers such as Buffalo Dip and Tater Chips, Tater Chips, and Side of Tater Chips Onion Rings if you wish to limit your sodium intake.
Food suggestions for High Blood Pressure at Zaxby's
If you are supposed to restrict your calorie count, then try any of the zalads and club it up with a sandwich to fill your stomach with delicious food. To curb the cravings for deep fried food, opt for a small portion (5) of boneless wings and chicken fingerz.
Instead of ordering fried chicken wing servings, you can always request for a grilled sandwich with lettuce, onion, and tomatoes to counter high cholesterol. A sandwich calorie count can range between 900 to 1600 calorie which can be reduced by asking for healthier options.
Foods to Avoid at Zaxby's for High Cholesterol
Salads are often great and considered healthy. However, if you have high cholesterol, then you must be careful while ordering salads or shall we say Zalads at Zaxby's. Fried Cobb salad contains high-fat content which can spike your LDL cholesterol levels. Most food items on Zaxby's menu are high in fat content if you increase the quantity. Instead of opting for 10 or 20 chicken wings from the menu, opt for 5 traditional chicken wings to control your cholesterol balance.
I took my wife and son there last night and we left feeling sick. We love salt but this food was just too salty. We ordered a large chicken finger plate to share and my son had the chicken finger kid's meal. Both the chicken fingers and the toast were too salty. The fries weren't great. I'd rather have McDonald's fries (which is saying something). The coleslaw was the best thing on my plate. My son liked the Curious George fruit snacks that came with his meal. He liked them better than the chicken and fries. We probably won't go back even though we live down the street. We both feel like Chik-Fil-A has way better chicken and food in general.

Yummy, yummy, yummy! Haven't had this since I was in Alabama! Tastes just like it did when I was down there! Chicken is well cooked!

Chicken fingers only. They were barely the size of two (skinny) adult fingers but cost more than a $1 each. In their advertising photos they really should place a 25-cent piece next to the size of the chicken so potential customers can see how much they are getting for the price. Also, it appears they don't trim the fat or grizzle off any of the chicken. The price would also be OK if I was use to eating out at the most expensive, gourmet restaurants, but I don't and I'm not rich. If the customer doesn't mind chicken fingers costing over $1 per ounce then I guess it could be just fine. The flavor of the chicken was nothing to write home about. Actually, to me it was rather bland. It looks really good but quite bland. It's unfortunate that the sauce is better than the chicken. Relatively disappointed on my 1st experience with this place. Maybe it costs so much because they have to truck all the supplies from Georgia. That's a long ways to get chicken. I thought KFC was expensive and cheap on their portions. KFC puts this place to shame. Sorry, Zaxby's but I am not impressed at all. I concede that I may be all wet, but I don't plan to shop here ever again.

I enjoy there boneless buffalo wings they are good for fast food wings. I wish you could get half of your wings in one sauce and half in another. I also like that all wings come with ranch and celery.

I'd like to say I'm pretty liberal with my compliments on yelp. It's like, why tarnish a good restaurants reputation just because you had a bad experience.you know what I mean? That said- this place sux! I paid 7 dollars for what looked like 4 chicken nuggies that took a bath in buffalo sauce over night. The fries were luke warm and I went home hungry. Wife is a self-proclaimed chicken tenders connoisseur and said the ones she had were so-so. Anyway, press skip on this one if you wanna be full today.

I ordered the plate of chicken fingers but it was not a lot for how expensive it is. The chicken fingers were all really small and it came with celery and crinkle fries. Fries were good but it came to $7.47 and that doesn't include a drink... A small drink is $1.99 which is outrageous. Overall I didn't feel like it was worth the price.

The Chicken is good and it's going to be a little more expensive, In my opinion you get what you pay for and the quality of the food and the atmosphere is above average. The hot honey mustard sauce was really good. We also had the Cajun Club sandwich which was above average. The fry's were good as well. The most telling sign for me is that I didn't feel sick afterwards. And that doesn't always happen at other fast food joints especially when you try the chicken products.

The slogan says "indescribably good", but I think--against all odds--that I have found a way. "It's fine." I ordered a plate called "wings n things", and the winds were only a little warm, and slathered in sauce. They were fine. The chicken fingers were good, and the fries were ... fine. No complaints, no worries, and maybe when they practice some more it'll improve, I hope.

This place is great. We were greeted as we came in the door, given recommendations on popular items, and served well. Special thanks goes out to Matt from Tennessee who was working the till for recommendations, he was excellent. Our meals came within 3 minutes, hot and fresh and Matt includes some sauce for us to try with our fries. The portions were great, all in all an awesome experience! Restaurant is clean and neat, great lighting and atmosphere I'll be coming back

Agh, I want to like Zaxby's so much. It got great reviews from a lot of my friends, and being a Texan in a state that is generally barren of fried chicken (KFC does not count) I was so excited about a legit Southern institution rolling into town. I'm disappointed, and most of it has to do with the fact that everything I've tried there is so unbelievably salty as to be inedible - down to the Blue salad, bleu cheese dressing, and their signature Zax sauce. I realize that fried food is packed with sodium (part of its charm), but this was beyond normal levels. If it weren't for that, they'd get a higher star, because the food is otherwise A-OK and the prices are fine. I also really hate those computerized touch-screen soda vending machines, because all the sodas end up contaminated by each others' flavors. I got a Coke and it ended up tasting like a Christmas Yankee candle.

If you're up for chicken fingers this is the place to be. The accompanying sauces are very good. The chicken has a different texture than what I'm used to, but my wife liked it. She really like the breading they used. We bought a plate which was plenty of food for both of us to share, but I'm glad I didn't come by myself because the portion was huge. Could you go to other places and have just as much food for the same price? Of course, but that's why people specialize and this place specializes in chicken fingers. My favorite thing was the service and my water cup. It sounds silly, but it was nice to not get some dinky styrofoam cup that you have to refill 100 times to actually be considered a drink, but this free cup was a large. :) Sometimes, it's just the little things that make you happy. Would I eat here very day? Probably not. It's more of a once in a while kind of place.

I am so glad that we finally got a Zaxbys in Orem! It's been here for a few months now and every time I eat there, I leave feeling very full and satisfied. Their primary food is chicken, but don't be fooled in to thinking that there are not enough options. They have sandwiches, chicken fingers, wings, salads, a long with sides like fries and cole slaw and 3 different kinds of shakes. My favorite meal is the chicken fingerz platter - for $7 you get 5 large chicken strips, lots of fries, cole slaw, and Texas toast. Plus for just $2.50 more, you can make that a large with more chicken, fries, and another toast (perfect for sharing with another person!) I love all their sauces too! Highly recommend when you want casual dining at fast food prices.

I would say that Zaxby's is "describably good." Their portion sizes are fine (the chicken finger plate will fill you up, no problem). The price isn't much better or worse than anywhere else. The chicken fingers are good, but nothing unexpected. Processed chicken, light breading, good crunch. I don't know of any other fast food place that serves buttered toast with their meals. I think that may be a move to make sure you've got plenty of food and don't leave hungry. As toast goes, it's pretty good. The coleslaw is good. You know and I know that there's good coleslaw and bad coleslaw, and this stuff is pretty good. Their fries are very consistent, fluffy rather than crunchy, and thoughtfully spiced. Nothing to write home about, necessarily. The sauces are more surprising. They're not afraid to be a little spicy. The Zaxby's Sauce is a fusion of fry sauce/thousand island with a bit of a kick. The barbecue sauce has a high vinegar content, so it's extremely sharp (but not overwhelming). The honey mustard is spicy as promised, with a dijon base. None of the sauces are going to change your life, but they are unique and reasonably tasty. All in all, since I'm a fan of big flavors, I prefer Popeye's. But Zaxby's isn't bad if you're in a "regular chicken fingers" mood.

I ate at Zaxby's in Orem, where taco bell used to be, what looked like one of their opening days, so I won't make any comment on speed because obviously they were slammed. Service was good and friendly. I ordered a chicken finger plate, grilled chicken sandwich combo, and spicy mushrooms. All and all the food was good, but not much better than anywhere else in my opinion. The biggest problem was the price. The chicken finger plate, which came with chicken fingers, small hand full of fries, and buttered toast, 2oz cup of coleslaw, was 6.99 with no drink included. The fried spicy mushrooms were 3.99 ( if I remember correctly) came out with about half a handful of fried mushrooms. The Value is just way too far off compared to other fast casual restaurants in the same area. If you went to cafe rio for example or even zupas, the portions could easily double for the same price. Even Wendy's down the street would be comparable in flavor, but would come with the same if not more food, and a drink at the same price point. I would suggest lower price point, slightly larger portions, or better value (all combos come with med drink like most fast restaurants) Try it and form your own opinion, I would guess you'll feel the same.
