I honestly love this place! I love all the flavors and tastes offered in their dishes. The rice bowls and salads are both delicious. The portion size (important to me) is good, though the only thing keeping it from five stars is that i feel it is a little too expensive; take a dollar or so off the price of an entree and I'm sold!

I would give a better review but the chicken always seems to be overcooked. Its been a while since I have been here but this time it looks like nothing has changed. Had the chicken sandwich and it taste like it could have been much better.

Work ordered this in one night. I had the rumbi tacos. For take out, not bad. The chips were hella stale though. Not sure why. The taco soup was three stars. Something was burnt in it (the chicken maybe) left a weird after taste

Delish. Chicken tortilla soup is bomb, they put coconut milk in it, so good! Their fries are actually some of the best too. Hubby always gets a bowl which is good, I get the salad with the noodles in it, sounds weird but it's soooo good!

ehh, I'm really not that impressed. Its got an awesome atmosphere, good service and is very clean, but the food is average. My wife had a chicken mango salad and it have only a few pieces of mango and the chicken was clearly packaged chicken you buy at the supermarket. I had their big burger and it was the same thing: frozen patties and buns, not long on flavor and very average. Its average at best. Too bad, I wanted to like this place.

Rumbi has good food. I go there if I need a quick, healthy meal. But I just have to say..the customer service kinda sucks. Their attitude is like a grumpy old cafeteria lady. It makes me feel bad for ordering because the teenage girls that work there seem so annoyed and when asked for a menu recommendation, it's like a problem that they have to do something other than just taking your order.

Rumbi is a great way to switch up your daily routine. With a lot of reasonably healthy options, Rumbi is my go to place when I want to be a little more conservative for lunch. My typical meal here usually consists of a brown rice bowl with grilled chicken or steak, with vegetables. Go easy on the sauce, because sauces add a lot of hidden calories. The bowl always tastes fresh, with moist grilled chicken that you can tell wasn't made yesterday. The vegetables are actually pretty good, especially when dipped in any of their signature sauces. The teriyaki sauce is a little salty for me, so I typically go with the jamaican jerk or their honey orange sauce. The menu here is pretty large, offering a wide variety of hawaiian style plates and meals. Prices are pretty decent. Around $8 for a half bowl, and $9 for a full. I usually just do a full bowl, and save the other half for breakfast or lunch the next day as it keeps pretty well. The staff is very friendly, and the food comes out pretty quick. I went here today at 11:45 and it wasn't even busy, so keep that in mind next time you are looking for a less crowded restaurant during the lunch hour. Fresh food, healthy options, and a lot of flavor. Definitely a win in my book.

I honestly was shocked over how high the ratings are. This place isn't horrible but i went in looking for somewhat authentic Hawaiian food. What I got from their bowl was chicken that was pre cooked and cubed like you get at costco served over "noodles" that was plain old spaghetti. The sauces weren't bad ( tried different kinds) and it was just all so mediocre.

This is a great place and the Mahi tastes amazing. The rice has an awesome Hawaiin seasoning as well, and the staff is super friendly. They even retroactively applied a coupon for us after we ordered because we forgot about it when we ordered. Make sure to try the chocolate lava cake. It's delicious.

Clean and pleasant atmosphere.the service was OK as well.however, the food is just bland.its as authentic Hawaiian as taco bell is authentic Mexican. The food wasn't bad,it just wasn't very good either. My wife had the grilled chicken with teriyaki sauce w/ rice.my son had the Mac and cheese. And I had the pulled pork with teriyaki sauce and Mac salad. For the price, you can find much better food elsewhere.

Solidly good, but not remarkable. I ordered the rice bowl with brown rice, shrimp ($1 extra), and Bali Island sauce (like Thai peanut). The half size is the perfect amount for lunch! The shrimp was very tender and cooked perfectly, the veggies were tender crisp, and the sauce was SO GOOD. Ordering was quick, and I didn't have to wait long for my food to arrive.

I ate here last week with my family and loved it. It is Hawaiian themed, with a touch of Caribbean flavor. It all works somehow and the result is a very fun place to eat. Their signature dishes are the rice bowls. I tried the Jamaican Jerk Chicken and it was outstanding. The chicken definitely tasted like it was right off the grill and the sauce was powerful. I also tried some of the Luau Pork and it was soooo good--tender, juicy and addictive. You have your choice of noodles or 3 different rices (white, brown, or Rumbi (coconut)). These are all good options. The Rumbi rice is incredible, but only try it IF you love coconut. It was very strong, which was fine with me. Their bowls come in half-size ($7.19) or full-size (only $1.00 more). The full-size were ginormous--very filling. We shared the sweet potato fries, which I STRONGLY recommend. They also feature salads, fish dishes (the volcano-blackened mahi or salmon looked incredible), burgers, and even fish tacos. Hungry G. readers know I'm seriously addicted to fish tacos, so I must return to try them. The Kahuna Burger (2 patties, pineapple, cheese, and all the fixings) at a neighboring table looked really good, so I think I'll have to try that too.

Another chain in UT Valley...wooo. It has fairly decent food. Salads are better than their over cooked bowls with 3x the amount of oil anyone could ever need. Sauces and dressings are solid, nothing amazing, but decent. Service is usually quick but then again we call in our order, so the wait has not ever been too long. If they could learn to cook fries their sweet potato fries could be good with their version of fry sauce. Sadly when I've ordered them they are mushy, like they microwaved them from the freezer. Also, its on University Parkway aka the center of traffic disasters in UT county.

Man, this place is consistently good! This time my wife got the Kahuna burger, but I wanted to try the fish tacos. They were great, probably the best fish tacos I've ever had, but I definitely was having order envy. I don't think I'll ever get anything besides the Kahuna burger here. That's not to say their other food isn't good. I've loved everything I've had here, but there's a special place in my heart for the Kahuna burger. I love it. It comes with a couple of pineapple slices and a surprisingly good teriyaki sauce.

Came to Orem for a wedding and had some downtime to kill. Looked up local food in the area and well, there wasn't much to choose from. We found Rumbi through Yelp and wanted to try it out. The neighboring noodle bar didn't look too appetizing to my friends and I (we're all asian too!)... The atmosphere is like a knock off of the chain: Island's here in California. The idea is similar to Wahoo's Fish Taco where you order and get a table sign with a # and a "waitress" brings you your food. I ordered the Rumbi Burger and it wasn't bad...nor was it amazing. It was quite oily and i'm glad I told them no mayo. . . who knows how much more oil would have came out of that bun. I opted for the chips and salsa since my friends go the fries. The chips are straight out of the bag. The salsa, on the other hand, is really good. I don't know if it's made from scratch but it has a sweet and tangy taste to it. Not bad...I just wish I got better, less salty chips to go with it. Other than that, it was fairly priced and was just well, average. But in the context of Orem, it was pretty damn good. Needless to say there is Red Mango next door which helped. I'll be reviewing that next!

Update Review: The service seems to be all over the place. Sometimes I'll go and it's great and other times it's horrible. The salads are just as inconsistent. The Voodoo Chicken Salad used to be a standard part of my diet, but now that the prices are higher and it's a little different every time I get it I don't eat here as often. I'm disappointed and dropping the rating to 2 stars. ---------------------------------------- Review from 8/29/2009 Voodoo Chicken Salad. I think I could eat that every day.

My best friend is a teriyaki freak. She loves getting steak and chicken with teriyaki sauce, so I thought that we could try this place out when she visited me. While she's a huge fan of Island Brothers in San Diego, she thought that Rumbi was really good. The portions are pretty good, and the food is always fresh and fast. When I'm not feeling too hungry or running low on the funds side of things, I just order a kids meal, which gives you the perfect portion and a kids drink to boot. Wonderful. My friends are big fans of the salads, but I've got to stick with the chicken teriyaki and either rice or noodles - oh, the noodles are so good. It's the perfect place to go for a quick bite during the summer. There's patio seating, but if you prefer, the air conditioning inside seems to be magical. It feels like the air conditioning back home - not so dry, just wonderful. Yeah, you probably don't get what I'm trying to get at...ah well. Plus the place is decked out with a Waikiki mural and all...Oh how I miss the beach.
