Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Really I go here for a couple of reasons. Convenience and it's not as crowded as Cafe Rio. The food is good but I can't really say that it's much different from Cafe Rio. The Salads are great. I really like that the salad greens. It's the good stuff actually green not the crap places usually give you. great place to sit down and enjoy a meal!

Best burritos and salads. Student deals are awesome.

I had the steak burrito smothered in hot sauce and ranch sauce. It was great! So much food though. I could not get through it all. I really liked the atmosphere as well and the Jarritos!!! When are they building one in Colorado?

Delicious!! Love the sweet pork, raspberry chipotle chicken & mango chicken salads! Quick service.

My favorite quesadilla in Orem is the steak quesadilla here.

I've been to a few of these Costa Vida spots during tours of duty in Orem and have to say, it's a solid choice in a town with limited exceptional food. I'd recommend trying their "Mexican" Steak Salad - worth it.

Not good! Plus they charge me about 50% tip when I wrote zero on the ticket! So dishonest!

I order online, said it would be ready in ten minutes, showed up 20 minutes after placing the order. My order had not even been made. They were busy, so the checkout guy went over and told one of the works I was here and I thought he was working on my order, nope. I had to remind the staff 3 times that I was here to pick up my online order!!! 30 minutes later I was out the door. What the hell is the point of online ordering if you have to wait this long? Never going back! Besides the long wait I was treated rudely. Plus the food has gone downhill. Don't eat here!

Quick friendly service and the Food is great. I haven't been here for over a year so I forgot how good it was. They remodeled and it looks really good.

I messed up my online order and somehow unknowingly ordered online again and when I found out I thought they would be livid considering the rush hour. But to my surprise they were understanding and fixed my order and the accidental double one. Great service. Oh, the food was great!!!

I'm not usually one to write scathing reviews. Being in the service industry myself, I don't always think they're very constructive. But who cares?! My experience at this particular Costa Vida location deserves mentioning. As I approach the counter to order my food, I was not greeted, not even with a smile or anything. Then the young guy taking my order was very abrupt, very very rude. He was not friendly. He was rude to the lady after me and practically yelled and the guy after her! I truly wanted to tell the manager that his boy needed a serious attitude adjustment. I refrained. Maybe he was having a bad day. As I moved down the line, none of the other employees were terribly friendly either. Then I got to the cashier and she didn't say one word to me. Just took my money, and sent me on my way. I took my food to go and the ONLY reason this review has two stars instead of one is that my food luckily tasted good. I had cheese enchiladas with medium sauce and an order of chips and queso. I will more than likely never return to this location of Costa Vida. *Mic drop*

While I might be biased because my regular CV spoils us I had mixed feelings about our experience at this location. The atmosphere was pleasing. Nice neighborhood and the restaurant was nice and clean. The manager however was much more focused on what the company wants as opposed to making the customer happy. We wanted a bean and cheese burrito for my sons kids meal and were told (with a smile on his face) that he couldn't do that cause the tortillas were too small. I can think of several fixes immediately that would make this a wonderful experience for any customer. Maybe use two small tortillas like you did for my daughters taco OR use a full size tortilla and cut it down. Don't tell the customer they can't have something. Give us options and try to be a people person. P.S. My wife said its weird that they don't have kids bean and cheese burritos on the menu in the first place. Way to narrow your market.

I have always loved Costa Vida and love it even more after my visit on 9/19. We ordered all of our food and many of the orders required rice. They were all out rice and we were understandably upset and usually you just have to deal with it at most places but they paid for all the orders that needed rice. The food tasted great as usual and it's nice to know that some restaurants still care about their customers!

I can always count on Costa Vida to come through when I need a good burrito. But the entire menu here is on the "To Crave" list -- quesadillas, salads, enchiladas, and more. Most the time the line is quick and the folks that work here are as friendly as they get. Always willing to get your order just right. Atmosphere is clean and comfortable. I would recommend this place to everyone in the area.

I figure this Costa Vida serves food that's a couple steps about Taco Hell at just a bit more $. Also, they take gluten free seriously, so they get a bonus star for that. Call in before ya get there for quick take out and no line.

Always enjoy getting a meal from here. It is not the best Mexican food place, but still impressed. I feel the quality of the food has gone down. Cafe Rio tastes a little better.

The meat in my pork salad was cold. On the plus side it usually isn't very busy. At the same time I think a busier costa vida would be fresher and taste better. Try going when they are busier for better results. Seems counterintuitive but it's true!

Costa Vida is really tasty and I love that you can get a small salad which is really plenty large enough. My family eats here about once a month and we enjoy it. The workers are nice and the service is pretty fast.

Every year I make the mistake of giving Costa Vida another chance. Their prices keep going up and the food is just as bad as ever. The more they stray from the original copycat Cafe Rio restaurant they were, the worse it gets.

This place is amazing, they do a great job at food prep and cleaning. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food taste amazing especially the queso and chips!

My first time at Costa Vida and I really liked their Chile Verde burrito. By far the tastiest burrito I've had since relocating to Utah. I don't care for the sweet stuff and I stay away from it but I wouldn't mind having another Chile Verde burrito.

It's a better rating than the food deserves, but what can I say -- People really like it. It's not really Mexican, it's overly sweet, and there is a lot of it for a fair price. It seems to be as good as the other similar competition. I ordered a Chipotle Chicken dish expecting it would not be overly sweet. Whoa. It was really sweet. The sauce was a lot like the sweet orange sauce you get at Chinese restaurants to dip your fried rolls in. I was so disappointed that I wrote to the corporate office. I heard back from not one, but two of the top people in corporate the next day. They sent me new coupons to try it again and gave me suggestions based on my preferences. It was still rather sweet and bland, but better. Then a year later, they sent me another set of coupons hoping I was having better experiences these days. It's not my type of food, but I'm impressed with the company and their commitment to customer service.

this is how it works, you walk in the door, get in line (check the menu while in line), when you get up to the order area, tell them what you want and follow the line, pay, etc... think of subway, but it's Mexican food. They have this iron wheel that spins, where they put the flour tortilla to warm it up and use it for your oder. If you got sauce on top, they will put cheese and put it through a warmer, then add lettuce and salsa. the meal is served in a metal container, so if you have left over, just go grab a lid and take it home. So after reviewing the menu, I decided to go with Sweet Pork Burrito with rice and black beans (like 1150 calories) with diet coke. The pork was indeed sweet, it was so good... The interior is modern and spacious and open. It's busy during lunch, so expect to wait in line a little, but you won't be disappointed!!!
