I opted to eat outside because everything inside was dirty and greasy. The custard isn't as good as I hoped it would be either, and is a tad expensive. Not worth it.

Great burger, but everything else is good, not awesome. Super dirty & greasy place. If they did a good deep-clean of the place I would most certainly add a star.

This place is so dirty and greasy. The person making my food did not wear gloves and they were making sandwiches while running the cash register. Gross! I was not impressed with the food, and the restaurant is small and cramped. Won't be back.

The custard is good, but best eaten without toppings. My main complaint is the air inside is thick with grease from the grill. Other than that, not bad.

Really enjoyed my experience here. The employee helping me was helpful and nice. Got the frozen custard cyclone with a vanilla base, Oreo, and marshmallow. It was the concrete style and absolutely delicious. Others I was with were pleasantly surprised as well. Will be returning soon! (I agree with past reviews though, they do need to clean this place up. The chairs were dirty)

Maybe great for children but not I...even J-dawgs across the street is better. You seriously call that 3" thing with 1/8" diameter an "all beef dog"? I paid $4 for a sliced up half a** dog and with nasty hot (diced)tomatoes on it, that made it soggy. I wish there were a weinerschnitzel here they give you so much more!!! Plus someone came in after me with her daughter and got served before me. Wth. At least the custard was awesome.

A bit dissapointed. Coney dog came topped with ice cold cheese dumped out of the bag.. I asked the server guy about the dog and he stated he had never tried one. Your servers should know your products.

I'm not a huge fan of greasy food and frozen custard, but with custard this good, there's just no where else in town I'd rather be!

University Parkway is a busy street. I saw the sign for Coney's while I was in queue at a stoplight. A HUGE fan of ice cream and frozen desserts, the place piqued my interest. In Utah for business, I looked online for info on their address and hours - not easily google-able. I cruised University Parkway, found it again, and stopped in. Think Dairy Queen but with simpler frozen dessert choices. From what I can tell, they serve regular food, but everyone was there for the custard. Looks like they always serve vanilla and chocolate, but then they have the flavor of the day, which you can taste. They also have a sundae of the month. Then they have different toppings, to mix-into their cyclones (a-la DQ blizzard) and top on sundaes. They round out their custard menu with shakes/malts, and a different variations of waffle cones. So the custard is similar to DQ soft serve, but as their website declares, the stuff is made fresh in special machines right there in front of your eyes! I have a sundae with vanilla and chocolate frozen custard. Mmmm....good! So if you like the texture of soft serve frozen desserts, you'll LOVE Coney's Frozen Custard. Love coneys custard, and they make a pretty mean hamburger.

I love Coney's!! I never had frozen custard till I moved to Utah. This place was great. We had the food once, but it was always all about the custard. When my family came to visit we went there 3 times. They loved that place. My sister even asked if I could mail her some custard. That was great!! Next time we visit, I am stopping by!

The first time I went into Coneys, I didn't like how thick with grease the air was. However, after recently visiting it again for their Coconut Joy custard (to die FOR!) I was pleasantly surprised. They've done a great job ventilating the place and they have a new menu item, "Seely Sliders." They're sliders that are wonderful. My new order is two sliders, fries and a cup of the flavor of the day. They've recently added a bunch of new flavors to their calendar, so be sure to check them out on Facebook or sign up for their emails to see what flavors are coming up.

Sorry to have to post this but...the place was filthy (seriously don't glance over the counter), the atmosphere depressing, the wait abnormally long for two simple items, the air thick with grease, and unfortunately things didn't taste great at all. Oh and everything is surprisingly expensive. Will not be coming back next time I get a hankering for a malt. Seems like a good enough idea but execution and quality is beyond lacking.

I will not be returning! I ordered one scoop of custard and waited 25 min for it. Their system is so backwards, it would have taken 3o seconds to scoop that out. But instead they were making all of these full meals first with hamburgers and specialty sundaes. Their custard is nothing special compared to farrs fresh which is just up the road by university mall. They have lots of flavors of custard daily with lots of yummy toppings. And best of all there is usually no wait.

Coney's is a favorite summertime spot for me. They make a tasty burger that's seasoned like a career navy man. I go in and order a non-menu item: a cheese burger with chili instead of spread. Recently they've began charging $0.69 for my chili, and I don't mind this so long as I get enough chili oozing out of the back of my burger that I can swish my fries through the globs. (If my pocket change only buys me a thin skiff of chili, does it really cost more than the spread did?) The fries are ever golden and crispy, though they are just a frozen from a bag variety. They also come with a cup of sauce that I suspect is just catchup flavored custard ... it's very thick, and has only a light flavor. I prefer plain catchup or my burger blops. Most of the time this combination dazes me, and with my senses dazzled, I ask for custard. I shouldn't, but it has a chilly siren's call that seduces me. I really love the waffle cones they make in the store, and I think that if the flavor of the day were "old boot" that cone could still make it palatable. As stands, the flavor of the day is hit and miss with me, but the chocolate is dark, rich, and smooth like Tyra Banks.

I don't know what it is about Coney's that amazes me so much but I love everything I have ever had here. First off, they are known for their custard. Every time I try a new custard place I always leave thinking, "It's still not as good as Coneys." The custard is always perfectly smooth and creamy, with the right amount of sweetness to make this the perfect frozen treat. I think it beats out any yogurt or ice cream place out there any day of the week. They have so many awesome flavors, but my two favorites are the cherry amaretto cheesecake and lemon chiffon. The lemon was definately an unexpected treat as I normally don't care for anything lemon, but it is spectacular, do not miss this. Not overly sour or tart, but perfectly sweet and decadent. But truthfully, I think I love their food even more than the custard. This is easily my favorite fast-food burger. The way the chese melts perfectly into the beef, and the way they grill the buttery soft buns makes me want to hug the old guy who owns the place every time I go. The Coney dog is without a doubt my favorite hot dog in the WORLD. I have never had a more perfect hot dog in all my years. The cheese, chili, and dog are the perfect union of meaty, gooey, goodness. This thing should be a local legend. Since living in Texas, whenever I am visiting Utah, I always make a trip to Orem just to go to Coneys, it is really that great.

We waited an extra five minutes for the fresh custard, which was very nice of the employees to make for us. Unfortunately, it was DROWNED in milk so none of the custard flavor came through. When I ordered a milk shake I meant a small amount of milk and a large amount of shake. Sad.

I've only had the Custard from this place. Custard is good prices are high

Delicious hot dogs, and their desserts are great too! The sonoran dog was outstanding.

After having lunch at the Smokehouse decided to have a little something for dessert when I saw the sign Frozen Custard. I've heard good things about frozen custard and figured this would be my chance so I walked over to Coney's Frozen Custard. It's a small little shop that kind of reminds me of a Foster's Freeze but with a New York "Coney Island" theme. So thus a couple references to NY and a picture or two of Coney Island are up on the walls. Menu is fairly basic with Burgers and Hot Dogs along with a couple of frozen custard options. The meals here go from around $5 - $7 and the frozen custard (either in a cone or cope) range from $2 - $4. They also offer sundaes and shakes and you're looking around $4 - $5. They only offer 3 types of frozen custard each day. Vanilla, Chocolate, and their special of the day. The special was some kind of chocolate and not being a big fan of chocolate decided to go with your basic vanilla. I got my cone and hung out for a while. It was a good size cone and when I had a bite of the frozen custard, it was ok. It was much creamier than your typical soft serve ice cream and reminded me of have an ice cream version of Kool Whip. The vanilla taste was decent but had a bit of an artificial taste to it. As to rating, it was ok. I was nice on a hot day and that's about it. Overall, yeah I would have it again but it's nothing that I'm craving for. About average and that gets 3 stars.
