Great burritos and overall good food.

Just yum. A pile of delicious, slow-cooked pork wrapped in a handmade tortilla and smothered in cheese and made-from-scratch enchilada sauce is just so good. Yum. The steak is good too, but the pork makes me weak in the knees.

Nothing like it. Fresh, fast and Delicious. From the salmon tacos to the burritos and salads. We've eaten at at least 5 of them in the state and they're all the same. I swear we eat here once a week, sometimes more.

Last time I went I had the fish taco's they were awesome! Cafe Rio creates great food and treats it's customers well. The Salads and Burrito's are great. The Pork,Beef is so good. I forgot how good this place is! The only downfall is it's always so crowded! I guess it's worth it!

On the road pit stop: Man, I heard that Cafe Rio was a chain. Well, WHERE? I've never seen them before. I'm never in Utah though either. Well anyway, let's just say that if I had a choice, I would come here a lot! This is my kind of place. Why? First off, their "award winning dish" is a salad! That's so me right there. A salad, really? Yes! It's the pork barbacoa salad. The pork is marinated in something sweet that makes it jump off your tongue and is so tender, it melts in your mouth a little bit. They have an efficient but upscale line item service. You walk down the line, pick what you want and you're good to go. They use quality ingredients though, this is what differentiates them. I know because I saw them hand chopping veggies, hand separating their cooked chicken off the bone, and finishing off every order on the grill with a nice delicate cheese. Attention to detail in an unexpected way. Another plus - handmade tortillas. My salad came with one on the bottom. I ate the whole thing! It was soooo good. The one downside is they need a larger salsa selection. Everything else is fabulous. Service is good, the food is great, and it's pretty spiffy, as well. You need some Rio in your life...

This Utah original started off paving new ground, then dipped in quality, and finally has bounced back as a regional franchise with consistently delicious meats, freshly-made tortillas, and great service. The tortilla soup is a sleeper hit, and those in-the-know hit Cafe Rio for the daily specials--which saves you some moolah and lets you try out something other than burritos/tacos/salads which are the triumvirates. Also, everything you have heard about the pork is true. It is often imitated but rarely rivaled. Ditto on the creamy dressing with a slight, delightful kick. (Add in some black beans and you have yourself a mega-calorie salad to make you feel better as you fatten up for winter, amigo.)

We ate here last Thursday with a customer. It was lunch time and the place was PACKED. I honestly don't understand why Cafe Rio is aso popular. Sure the food is OK, but for anyone who likes spice Cafe Rio is disappointing. I ordered the fire grilled chicken enchiladas with their hottest salsa and the while the food tasted good the spicy level was mild at best. For my money I'd prefer to eat at Bajio whose food actually has some heat.

Nothing you haven't already read, but even better since they added the mint lime-aide. I would go there just for that.

I really like this place. The food tastes fresh and there is a nice assortment. The only thing I really don't like is the quick accented requests about what I want. It appears the staff almost likes to create a puzzled look on the face of the new customer.

Cafe Rio, Mormons, SUVs and crap-a** drivers. These are all things synonymous with Utah. If you're in Utah and have never had Cafe Rio, come have some. I think its a bit over priced, but it is usually always good. It's getting boring though and Rio's twin sister, Costa Vida, doesn't help. They are both good, they are both a little overpriced and the service and food quality are sometimes inconsistent. If you get anything to go, ask them to separate the hot from the cold or you will not enjoy finishing your soggy meal. Sweet pork is the way to go here. It's what they are known for. That and long lines.

Can't go wrong with a Cafe Rio salad. The tortillas are the best I've ever had and the dressing has such an amazing flavor. I don't care much for rice and beans in my salad because it makes everything a little soggy, so I always hold those. The burritos are solid, but not as good as the salad. Good chips and queso. Quesadillas are another solid menu item. I was disappointed in the tacos when I tried those. Everyone raves about the pork barbacoa, and I believe them. Just not a huge pork guy.

The Pork Barbacoa Burrito at Cafe Rio is the best thing ever!

Okay, this place is almost bomb enough to make Utah a decent place to live. Im so not kidding. Get the pork burrito...smothered...ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. My sister (who still lives back in Chicago) is a huge Chipotle fan...and I previously was...its hard to put it in the same category as chipotle...cuz its different...but i would pick this over chipotle ANY DAY.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
