Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

I have been coming here for the last four years, and I always leave happy. The amount of food they give you is generous and prices are very affordable! I love all of the options they have for dinner and lunch combos, you never get bored! This is also a great place to come with a large group, they are so accommodating a d friendly! Honestly one of my favorite places for fast delicious Chinese, and one of the best places in Ogden in general!

Great every now and then. Average prices for Chinese food, but huge portions! Just about everything seems to come with Szechuan Chicken and it's definitely their defining dish. I always get the Broccoli Beef combo. Like all combos, it comes with the Szechuan chicken, rice (ham fried or white), soup (egg drop or hot&sour), 3 jumbo shrimp, and dessert wontons! 4 stars because while it's a great deal, I've had orders messed up a couple times (me and people I've came with.) Also, the food isn't anything to really write home about. It's good and filling, but it's not elegant by any means.

In one word: soggy. They messed up our order. We ordered among other things, chicken chow mein and on the phone the girl even questioned me to make sure I wanted chow mein and not lo mein explaining the difference between the noodles. I told her I knew the difference and I wanted chow mein. Fast forward to opening the food at home and seeing something resembling neither chow mein nor lo mein. What we got was a watery mess of chicken, cabbage and other vegetables. I called to complain and the girl said we did get chow mein and that is why she explained the difference to me when I ordered. I had to reiterate that I was aware of the difference and unless she considered bean sprouts a noodle, there weren't even noodles, hard or soft in whatever it was they gave us. She continued to insist they did nothing wrong so I gave up. We also ordered sweet and sour chicken which is as Amierican Chinese as it gets so you'd think it would be perfected but it was soggy and of poor quality. It's fine to charge a premium on your food but only if it's warranted. I'm afraid Zhang's Chopstix is no better than the Chinese food at Chuck-A-Rama. Related: months ago my wife had a terrible experience with the customer service while dining in at this restaurant that ended with them walking out 15 minutes after being seated.

I thought that the food was great and service was friendly. Large menu of items to choose from. No sushi menu so don't bother if you want that. i thought it was very flavorful and exciting to try the new things we discovered here. Spicey beef is really black peppered beef but i like that sort of thing. We got chocolate wantons with our bill, a very nice parting gift. Yum!

The last couple times I've come here, I've enjoyed my meal. This time I ordered the Shrimp Lo Mein. It was Valentines Day so they didn't have the lunch special as an option so I skipped the combo meal. My husband ordered the Mongolian Beef and Szechuan Chicken combo. His came with hot & sour soup, one fried shrimp and three crab wontons. He ate the soup and I ate the other extras. They had a special chocolate caramel wonton dessert for each of us that was yummy. I enjoyed my meal and ended up with takeout that made for two more meals worth. The atmosphere is very inviting here, but the only down side was the waitress just didn't seem friendly. She never really smiled or greeted us with a warm reception. She did an adequate job, but could have got a better tip with a little more effort.

This by far the best Chinese food around. They added chow fun to their menu worth it, not driving to SLC for chow fun thank goodness...

Everything you could need in a Chinese Restaurant. Good food, large proportions, and a nice atmosphere. It is very "americanized" but still very good.

You know there is a problem when you get your egg drop soup and the spoon stands straight up in it.

Enjoyed this place about a year ago, was very good. Food and service was worth a trip back, something's changed. Food was not at temperature, nasty not very hot tea. Will not quickly return

These guys have a great Gluten Free menu and it's good! Our whole family eats from the Gluten Free menu so we can eat family style and share the dishes we order. The chow fun rice noodles are a family favorite. The soy sauce on the table is not gluten free, but if you ask for some they will bring it to you. It's a great family dining experience and they have a large variety of choices on the gluten free menu which is hard to find! Don't worry the glutenous food is delicious too!

It's a decent place for sure! I was kind of unimpressed with the orange chicken, but then again it's supposed to be spicy and I asked them to do whatever thing they do to unspicify it, so it could have been that. The Egg Drop soup is good, and the service was excellent. Overall, I'd say it's worth a try to see if you find something you love or not.

I took my brother here for his birthday because it had a gluten free menu. I haven't had Chinese food in years, because of being GF and veg, and there are not many places where I can eat it. So, I was really looking forward to it. I was pretty disappointed with my meal though. It lacked flavor, completely. The pros: The restaurant is really nice. It's clean, and our large table in an enclosed area was great. There is plenty of parking. And having a gluten free menu with some additional vegetarian items is for sure a bonus. The cons: Like I said above, the food completely lacked flavor. I was totally unimpressed, and couldn't get myself to finish my meal because I just really did not enjoy it. I'm not sure if it's worth another visit. I will probably seek out a different place next time I eat in Ogden.

Food is good, we get alot of take out from here, but you have to remind them not to put the soups or sauces ontop of each other because the plastic on the lids melt and get into sauces, it has happend 3 times now, I have to literally scoop the melted plastic from the sauces and soups.. not good and you may have to remind them not to stack them ontop of each other, what they really need to do is buy better plastic tops, everywhere else I go this has NEVER been an issue! Not wingwahs or dragons... only from here. 3! times now. Just a helpful reminder for anyone ordering takeout, make sure to tell them on the phone to not stack anything with a lid on it.

This place is bad. I know it's in Odgen and there's like one Chinese family (who owns Chopstix) but still. This place was designed for White people who have no idea what Chinese food is. The decor is way overdone, they spent an ungodly amount of money on decorations both inside and outside. Their sign when I walked in was their fried rice which had jalapenos and pineapple. When are those two things ever in fried rice? I took a chance and ordered the kung pao chicken. Worst decision ever. I usually don't usually like sweet fake chinese food but another person in my party ordered orange chicken and it was ten times better than that awful excuse for kung pao. Oh and the Chinese lady whom I presume was the owner was very rude at the front desk. We did a large takeout order and she was just very rude. Granted I should expect it from a Chinese restaurant but still. Salt on the wound. If you have any self respect for Chinese food, go to Salt Lake or don't get Chinese food at all.

Not worth it. The waitress messed up our order and then pulled out some chopsticks to fix the order. The food was ... Nothing to write home about. The waitress was nice at least. I was bothered the my guest and I shared our table with 3 flies parked on the window inside the restaurant. Not visiting again.

Chopsticks is our favorite family restaurant in the Ogden area. I've been at least a dozen times and have never been disappointed. The general chicken, house chow fun and ham fried rice are bomb. The service has always been top notch, and trust me we don't make it easy (Large family with lots of grand babies). Check it out!

If you don't want 'American Chinese', go to China! Getting sick of people expecting non Americanized Chinese in AMERICA and giving bad reviews because of it. I really enjoy their chicken dishes here. The only reason for the lower rating is that they charge quite a bit for what you get. Not that they don't give you a lot, but all we ordered was two kinds of chicken and two egg rolls and it was $30.

After a long day out riding we were starving. We tried some of our other haunts but being that it was Sunday everything we tried was closed. Then we remembered this place had opened in the old training table building. We road over and it appear that we may have struck out again, the open sign was off and the parking lot was empty but there were some lights on inside. Went up to the door and walked in, thank goodness they were open. Being our first time here we wanted to order a variety of food. I ordered the Mongolian Beef and Sweet and Sour Chicken dinner combo, the wife got the Sesame Chicken combo. Combos come with rice (white or fried) soup or salad, fried shrimp and crab wontons. The wife got the egg drop and I got the hot and sour soups. The soups came and they were extremely tasty. The egg drop was thick and creamy, well seasoned and had a hint of sweetness from the corn. The hot sour was nice and thick, not too much so, and had a nice vinegar bite and a bit of spice. I would say both of these soups are some of the better I have tasted and a Chinese restaurant. The Mongolian beef was very tasty and had a hint of heat (the wife said it was too hot to eat). The beef was plentiful and extremely tender. I never eat the veggies not sure how the tasted but they looked fresh. The sweet and sour chicken was made with big chunks of white meat and came with the standard bright orange/red sauce. The sesame chicken was breaded but had larger strips of white meat chicken vs the chunks used on the sweet and sour. The Sesame Chicken was tasty like the other food. We had a very good meal at Zhang's, that joined by the very nice decor and good service put Zhang's on our list of places to eat at in the future.

My family enjoy this place. It never went wrong both with foods, and service. My 2year old is very picky, but this is the only place she sits right.
(4)Troy M.
I found the food to be bland and flavorless, and it was great compared to the service. The waitress could get our order right, and kept making fat jokes about me. It is simply the worst meal and service I've ever had, and I will never go there again.

My Mom, my wife and I all went to Chopstix a few nights ago and we had an exceptional experience. Our server, Ashley, a pretty blonde with a quote from John Lennon's "Imagine" tattooed on the inside of her right bicep, was one of the best waitresses I've ever had. She had new drinks on our table before the old ones were empty, the delivery of our food was lightning fast and the food was piping hot. My Mom is unable to eat gluten and they have an entire menu for those who are gluten intolerant! Ashely was kind enough to bring my mom a SECOND bowl of their delicious egg drop soup because her options were a bit more limited than ours due to her gluten intolerance. The bathroom was immaculate, the music playing (not too loud) over the speaker system seemed to be a lot of Beatles and other oldies (which I love). The servings were MASSIVE (we had leftovers for days) and the meal for all three of us, including drinks was $56. This included appetizers, ham fried rice and THREE separate plates of food. (This figure does not include our tip.) The ONLY thing I could suggest to make this dining experience better is if they had knives on the tables. (Forks and spoons but no knives. Sure, it's all more or less bite size but you know how some old ladies like to "just try a tiny piece" of something and they want to cut a small piece into even smaller pieces.) I will be back and I will always ask for Ashley. Best. Waitress. Ever.

If you're extremely hungry and are craving Chinese then this place just might do you some good. Other than that I'd say you're better off at a Panda Express.

Not sure what those other people ate, but all of our food was great! The portions were huge~ definitely a "take home" kinda meal!

Not bad for basic Americanized Chinese food. The restaurant is nice (something that can't be said of a lot of Chinese places, unfortunately), and the food, while nothing special does occasionally show flashes of flair. While I'm not exactly raving about it, it's a reasonable choice if you're in the area and craving Chinese food.

tasty food (including their veggie options), free dessert won tons are a nice touch, decent atmosphere

It's hard to find a restaurant all four members of my family will readily agree on, but Zhangs Chopsticks always brings every one of us to the table. We watched the old Training Table restaurant on Harrison turn into a Chinese restaurant with great interest. The bright exterior and snappy name led me to believe it was a chain, so imagine my surprise to learn Zhangs is locally owned and family run! The Ogden Zhangs is the second location, the original is in Farmington. We dropped in one day for lunch and immediately fell in love. A giant fish tank greets you when you walk in, full of fish for happy kids to admire. The decor has a tiny touch of kitsch and a nice touch of elegance. Its clean, bright, and there are plenty of clean granite topped tables. In the numerous times we have come to Zhangs for a meal, Morgan has been our waiter. He is super friendly, helpful and informed on the menu, and bless him he has NEVER messed up an order or let our glasses go empty, despite often being the only waiter working. On the night of the big windstorm Zhangs was one of the only restaurants with power, the place was packed and working on only 50% power- but we were seated quickly, fed quickly, and the food and service was as wonderful as ever. I watched Morgan take orders in his head from 4 tables in a row and everything came out just as ordered- how awesome is that? The lunch special can't be beat, the most expensive item is 7.29 but most are 5.99. For that you get a fresh entree, rice, soup of your choice, and an egg roll or steamed veggies (You can also sub the crab cheese wontons for a touch extra- believe me, they are worth it!). A generous bowl of egg drop soup (I always bring at least half home!) is under $4.00. Their food is prepared from scratch and you can taste the difference, everything is fresh and delicious. Takeout is ready promptly and well packaged for travel (no spilled soup or leaking sweet and sour sauce!) My kids favorites are the egg drop soup, sweet and sour pork, and orange chicken. My husband and I have tried the Cashew Nut Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein, Moo Goo Gai Pan, Beef with Broccoli, General Tao's Chicken, BBQ Pork, and the Hot and Sour soup. All were fantastic and I can't say this enough: FRESH. At first glance Zhangs may appear to be just another Chinese chain but give it a second look, the Zhang family has been running restaurants for years and it shows in the quality of the food and service.

This is a comfortable place to eat, and due to convenience I go here two or three times a month. The menu is, like most Chinese restaurants, rather extensive, but I usually stick to the lunch menu. Service is fast and friendly -- but this is not fast food, but is reasonably speedy for lunch. Silverware and plates are real, as are the beautiful fish in the aquarium. The food is average. The hot and sour soup is gelatinous and overly sweet. The crab won tons are delicious. And the food is plentiful and at a good price.

That's right! I Am a fan. I love the House Chow fun (flat noodle) and Beef Chow fun. One thing I concern that one of servers ware a dirty apron which I don't want to see it again.

I finally decided to check this place out at the recommendations of some coworkers. The food was ok. Nothing spectacular. I felt as though the prices were steep also. I don't think I'll be back. Gonna keep on looking for that go to Chinese place.

I thought the food was terrible, maybe it's because I'm really picky about my Chinese food, but when you order hot and sour soup and it comes out lukewarm, the consistency of jello, and tastes sweet, it tends to put me off a bit. Tried the beef lo mien with friend rice and a crunchy shrimp and wonton. Wonton was ok, but beef tasted just like ground pepper. That's it. No flavor at all, and it was about as warm as the soup. The first and only restaurant in have ever been to where I have asked for a refund. My waitress could really care less about our service (alas, she did not get a tip) but at least the manager was nice about getting us a refund. I might try and give it a second chance buuuut...with Eastern Winds still in business, that's very unlikely I will ever visit again.

Zhang's is new, so I think they are probably still getting into the groove of restauranting. That said, the service was kind of lacking. We waited for 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged that we were waiting for a seat. The waiter was a little slow, and I was kind of surprised when he brought out an adult size drink for a two year old. I thought that ordering off the kid's menu meant my boy would get a kid's drink. But we all survived, I just dumped the drink into his sippy cup rather than risk the milk going all over the restaurant! As for the food, it was pretty good! The fried rice had kind of a weird smokey flavor, so I don't know if they burned it or if that's just how it's made. The kid's chicken nuggets were DELICIOUS, made in some kind of tempura-like batter and moist and just plain yummy. The egg drop soup was nice and thick and savoury, just like it should be. My grandma had the Szechuan chicken and it was amazing. Very spicy and just so flavorful and delicious. Oh man, it was good. I had the lo mein, which was yummy but not as good as the chicken. Their crab wontons were perfect. Ever since Kim Wah's went out of business my grandma and I have been depressed when we crave Chinese food, because there's just nothing in Ogden. But Zhang's Chopstix might just be what we've been looking for to fill the void in our lives. We'll definitely go back again and sample more of their menu, and I'm looking forward to it!

I just moved to Ogden and wanted Chinese take-out one night. My partner & I tried Zhang's and were very pleasantly surprised. It was fast, affordable and delicious. We ordered a combination that included Kung Pao chicken. It was fantastic! Our meal (which is actually supposed to be for one), cost around $11. and we ate dinner AND lunch the next day. Great value for really good food and yes, like the other reviews I will agree that the wontons were perfect and delicious!
(4)Utah Chic K.
A solid choice for Chinese food in Ogden. Atmosphere is quite nice (I love the booths right inside the door on the right side of the restaurant - private, cozy). It is easy to dine here with children & they have a good gluten free menu too. Some of our favorite dishes are the salt & pepper beef, moo shu pancakes w/shrimp, lettuce wraps. Crab wontons don't have enough flavor, so skip those (needs green onions or something). Probably not the most authentic Chinese, but quite good.
