It's Red Lobster, slightly better than Joe's Crab Shack, doesn't touch Market Street. You don't go for ambiance, you go because it's there and you want steamed muscles and a lobster. It's safe seafood, just manage your expectations and don't expect the world. I would probably head over to Red Lobster more often if it was just slightly cheaper. But I feel like I can pay the extra five to ten bucks per plate and go to Market Street and have a much better dining experience when both food, service and ambiance are considered. But some people like mediocrity and that's fine. So have fun sitting on your IKEA furniture(which I also wrote a review for, check it out sometime).

My daughter wanted to go her for her birthday... Service was decent but very scripted. Food was overpriced and mediocre at best. Watched 2 tables sit for 10+ minutes without being greeted. Overall it was just kinda blah. It's a great spot for those folks in their twilight years.

After eating seafood on the coast for 25 years and now a new resident of land locked Utah this place served up some great lobster! Our waitress Angelica deserved 5 stars she was very tentative to our needs. She took great care of us. I highly recommend the "New" wood Grilled Lobster Shrimp and Salmon. The Lobster deserved 5 stars. I feel Red Lobster need to work on a new flavor for the salmon that's why 4 stars.

I do enjoy my trips to Red Lobster. Mostly because it's my mom's favorite place to eat. So when I check in here I am usually spending time with her. I do enjoy the lunches here. I went for the soup and salad lunch. It was good not great. But the thing I love the most is those cheddar biscuits. You can't have too many of those. I will be back for sure sometime.

If you're a food snob, you will be disappointed. If you like seafood and aren't a foodie, you can find something you will like. This Red Lobster is consistently good. The grilled salmon is always perfectly cooked. The Spinach/Artichoke and Lobster dip appetizer is fantastic. Great rolls, if they're fresh out of the oven. The garden salad leaves much to be desired. Tip: order your veggies steamed with no butter. Otherwise they'll be a bit soggy and over-seasoned.

This is not a restaurant I would choose to eat at but my Mother chose it for her "birthday dinner" so what could I do? The salads are not good -- iceberg lettuce, a tomato, and croutons. My tilapia was dry and flavorless, the vegetables were steamed into mush, and the biscuits were greasy, but warm, which is the best I can say about them. Service was great: fast, efficient, and friendly. The restaurant was clean and well maintained, but I'll NEVER go back.

Haven't been back in over a year. We ordered many items as we were famished, wanted a huge lobster so went with the 2lb. It was just 'okay' nothing tender or worthy to mention. Loved the mussels with bread, and the side Caesar salad. They had oysters 1/2 off so we went for that and were greatly disappointed. They weren't shucked properly and tasted broken shells throughout, and they were the poorest tasting oysters I have ever had. Hence, the they were so cheap! The Shrimp linguini alfredo was good and the unfortunately the crab wasn't that great which I believe was reheated as it was very salty and the meat was mushy. Yuck! Not sure I will go back unless my mom wants a meal on a special occasion. She sure loves their cheese biscuits for some reason.

Awesome service and food! This has been one of the best service I have received at any restaurant here in Utah! My husband and I went for the endless shrimp and our server was on top of getting refills out as soon as possible. Keep up the great work!
I wouldn't recommend you to come here on a Friday night since the wait is long and the service is really slow. I've got Roasted Maine Lobster and Seaside Shrimp Trio. The only thing I like about this meal was the creamy shrimp linguini alfredo in the Shrimp Trio. The Walt's Favorite Shrimp and the garlic shrimp scampi were...I could say awful. As for the Roasted Maine Lobster, the potion was so small that I feel like I was being deceived. Moreover, I think most of the food on the menu were overpriced.

It's Red Lobster so I'm never expecting the finest dining or even super fresh fish. They do have a lot of deep fried options as well as the buttery scampi. I came with a friend for lunch this week and the food was good. Their salad they bring you before the entree is good sized not the few pieces of lettuce and 5 croutons you normally get at chain restaurants. My lunch was scampi, fried shrimp and flounder. I liked it all. And of course biscuits. The best part of the lunch was the service and the attitude of the server. She was wonderful!! Attentive, super friendly and had an excellent attitude. Kudo's to her!

Stopped by for the shrimp fest thing. Basically all you can eat shrimp cooked a few different ways. I haven't been here for awhile but immediately noticed the shrimp is smaller. I don't know if they get cheaper, smaller shrimp just for the shrimp fest or if this is a permanent move. The food was decent but then again I don't think you can screw up shrimp too bad before I dismiss it all together. The highlight of the meal was the biscuits. I really do love the biscuits here but I was hoping that the shrimp would steal it. Maybe next time?

I'm a fan. Except for the sewer stench outside. Definitely not a smell that you want in front of your restaurant, especially if that is where your guest wait to be seated. My family recently went here and it was great. They sat us at a table that actually fit our family of 5 rather a table that was designed for 3 kids as most places do. The service was great, not overwhelming but not distant either. It would have been 5 stars but the smell outside was so gross it knocked the rating down a full star.

went for lobsterfest at 5pm and there was a wait to get in but a lot lot lot of empty tables. Apparently they ran their campaign and didn't fully staff it. We chose to eat at the bar instead of the 20 minute wait but instead It took us 10 minutes to get a drink order taken and 10 minutes to get it. Then our rolls were dropped off but no silverware or plates so I went on the hunt. Got half my order but the server forgot my side of crab so I went on the hunt. The fgood was meh lobster good, crab soggy to crack my husbands food ok no green onions for a baked potato and the tarter sauce is yuck. But gott love the biscuits and lobster. The manager never even said good by or address us coming or going. I guess he was too busy on his blue tooth.
Came here on a Friday night. Was told it would be an hour and 20 min wait. The girl at the front rolled her eyes when we said we would wait and asked if we could put our name down. Once seated our server took forever for us to get our drinks and then it felt like another 15-20 min wait to even get our food ordered. The food was over salted and overall just not worth the time we waited for everything. We will never come back here.

New menu is great, I tried the new lobster bake, it was wonderful. It Had lots of seafood and and pasta in a white wine sauce. The service was good. We did have one small issue but the manager and server were quick to fix it and very apologetic about the mistake. They even gave us free dessert to compensate for the small mishap. I will definitely go back again.

Came here with my little mom who wanted to do the all you can eat shrimp. Dont ask me why because she is not a big eater. The place in shambles as they are "open during construction." Not great for patrons but whatever. Our server only kept bringing out 2 biscuits at at ime, the only reason i eat here is because of these things. Finally i told him he better bring more then 2 at a time and his stupid ass reply was that he might get in trouble with the manager. I told him then bring her here and i will have a talk with her because thats the most ridiculous thing i have heard, He saw that i wasnt joking and brought more out. My stuffed flounder was nasty. My moms shrimp was nothing inspiring. For over $30 for lunch, now i know why i frequent Market street as much as i do.

After coming to this particular location for so many years, I feel like it is time to write something about them. Despite the Red Lobster being a chain, their menu varies by state, so visiting their location at other states would most likely be a different experience than Utah. All of their restaurants have similar wood shack theme decors and a bar which I never used. The service I received here had been consistency on the above average side. The manager here had been the same for the past few years and she is actually a quite friendly lady. Their special menu changes every few months, which means new items for the less frequent diners almost every visit. The seafood here is decent for the price you paid, and they are less pricey than another notable seafood chain. The freshest thing you can get here is the marine lobster from their fish tank. The king crab leg is also decent as well. One less known service you could request from your server is to have them "de-shell" your shellfishes if you are not in the mood for breaking shells that day, I don't prefer this method as it takes the fun away from eating shellfish. Other seafood items such as scallops and shrimps are decent as well. I am not much of a fan for their fish, as they never tasted too fresh despite their fresh fish claim. The salad is ok, but I usually go for soup instead of salad. The clam chowder is ok, lobster bisque is overwhelmed with cheese, and seafood gumbo is decent and probably their best soup here. The lobster biscuits are quite delicious, and you can request more during and after your meal. One convenience thing about the Red Lobster chain is their location, as they are always next to a freeway exit, and this particular location is near the Fashion Place Mall as well. I would consider this place a great family celebration spot if everyone is into seafood with a reasonable budget.

A large group of us went to the Red Lobster by Fashion Place Mall for a birthday dinner this past Saturday (11-09-13). The reservation was for 7pm and they sat us promptly at 7. We were quickly greeted by Paul and Alex, the two servers that took care of our table. They quickly took drink orders while we were all deciding and then came back and took our dinner order. The food came out hot. I am not a fan of seafood so I had a hamburger - it was good. I also had a basket of those biscuits they make (okay, okay, two baskets of the biscuits) ... all in all, I would say I was impressed. The food was good, the service was excellent.

My girlfriend loves Red Lobster so we eat here maybe once or twice a year, enough to remind me that I don't like their food. Although the quality of their shrimp, lobster, fish, and other seafood offerings appears to be good quality they absolutely soak everything in SO much better that you can hardly taste anything but butter. Like Charles aid, the cheesy muffins are really tasty, but everything else is just MUCH too HEAVY for my stomach and all that butter ends up giving me some indigestion unfortunately. I am not a fan.
(2)
Charles S.
Yah, I realize it's a chain. But I still think people need to know (what my opionon is). The chowder is the worst excuse for soup that I have ever encountered. Think whole milk, with very few herbs/seasonings/flavor. Then throw in 1 clam per bowl and a bunch of diced potatoes. It's bad... really bad. The muffin things are really tasty, but also very heavy with too much cheese and butter. The fish is never very fresh and nearly every dish is drowning in butter. There are a few worse places to get seafood in SLC, but none really spring to mind. Skip it.

As I said in my check in. Shrimp and scallops rubber also coffee cold all 4 courses came at the same time so sat and got cold and bad service just not impressed at all.

I'm not a seafood fan, but my wife sure is. We came here since she had received a gift card. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is great; my wife was definitely loving the lobster tail and crab legs! I was saddened by the lack of halibut on the menu; I made do with blackened Atlantic salmon instead. While this is certainly an acceptable seafood experience, we both feel that McGraths is a step above in almost every way. Hence the reason for my 3-star rating.

We drove up here to avoid the recent bad service & horrible wait times in Orem...and end up getting a server who gets a party sat at the same & disappears for about 30min. After asking another server about her, the manager finally brought all three kids drinks they needed. It wasn't until after we had finished our food & I asked the hostess what had happened to our server that she finally showed up. Next time, we're going to Joe's Crab Shack.

Red Lobster isn't great, it's a restaurant chain but as chains go its pretty decent; the food is good, prices are reasonable and service is friendly. I's hard finding good seafood in substantial amounts in Utah in the sub $40 range and in this regard Red Lobster runs on the cheap side. You can get a plate loaded with seafood and still be around $20 a plate. The food is sometimes a little overcooked but is flavored well (in that chain restaurant sort of way). It's always either Lobster/Crab/or Shrimp Fest, when one runs out they just switch to the next so don't feel too pressured to go at one time, but you may get a bit better deal on certain dishes during one time or the other. The free cheesy biscuits they have as an appetizer are really good too. Bottom line: It's a chain, don't expect more. But for a chain 500 miles removed from the ocean it's pretty decent and good for a casual night out.

I enjoy eating at Red Lobster a few times each year! This location I have never once had a problem with. I have enjoyed eating at Red Lobster restaurants in the past but my experience here was horrible. We were seated and then had to wait close to 30 minutes before the waiter even acknowledged us. He promptly served others around us, but seemed to ignore us. Overall the food was mediocre and the service was HORRIBLE. I will never go there again!

Decent food and an okay atmosphere. I gave this four stars because of the service here. Our waiter made some mistakes but each server was very accommodating. In fact, one even took a lobster out of the tank to let our 3 year-old touch and see it. It was a cool moment. The other nice thing about this place is the location. Right off of the freeway. We came up from the south, but this is also a good spot for meeting anyone on their way out to the airport (just get onto I-215 and go west).

Tears up my stomach and super greasy. The appetizers were all pretty gross. We ordered just about everything they had on the appetizer menu. The crab dip was probably the best. The lobster was overcooked and the sides were substandard. There is just better places to go eat. Even the cheese rolls that a lot of my friends love were greasy and very salty.

Well, I'll start out by saying that my fiancé & I haven't been to Red Lobster for about a year. We decided to go this Sunday because he received a gift card for his Birthday. We arrived before 5pm. We were expecting to have a hard time finding parking, but to our surprise we found a close parking spot. When we walked in we were greeted & sat promptly in a booth. The resturant wasn't very busy. We were happy about that, especially since every time we've came in the past, we've always been put on the waiting list. When we sat down we realized they got new menus. I like them better than the old paper ones. It is a rather large menu, but for a chain resturant it's fine. They do have a ton of options. Our waitress was very sweet & helped us navigate the new menu. We found what we wanted & ordered. We both decided on the "Land & Sea" choice. My fiancé ordered steak & lobster, I ordered steak & snow crab legs. We both chose mashed potatoes & I had a salad as well. Of course, I can't forget about the "Cheddar Bay Biscuits". They were the best we've tasted! They were fresh, hot & when you bit into them you could see the melted cheese strands. After about 10 minutes our food was delivered to us. Everything was perfect! Both our steaks were medium rare to our liking & our shell fish was delicious! I always wish I had more crab, it's my favorite! The only thing I didn't care for was the broccoli. My system can't digest it & I wasn't given a choice or told that's what it came with. I think the waitress forgot to inform us, but it was fine, we just didn't eat it. During the meal our waitress checked on us 4 times, making sure everything was tasting good, she brought us more biscuits, kept our drinks filled & when we were done we didn't have to wait for her to bring the check. She was quick & attentive, yet not over bearing or in a rush. We both think we came at the perfect time! Had we came a little later, we would of been deep into the dinner rush. The new updated decor was excellent. I think it's very fitting. The dim light is perfect, especially for an intimate dining experience. Overall we had a great time celebrating my fiancés Birthday. The food was delicious & the service was great!

Skip it.

I went out of town to California to eat at Red Lobster and had a horrible experience and said to myself I wished I was eating at the Murray Location! The food is amazing and I will always go back!
