I got to work 2 hours too early. SO GLAD I DID! I was running late to being early for work (oh the irony)and skipped breakfast. Had some time to burn and this place had great reviews. The food was delicious (spinach bacon and some fancy cheese I can't recall omelette recommended by my server Kari). Coffee was great, and refilled readily. The rye toast came with some delicious home made jam. The most impressive part, was the service. Kari was friendly and kind, and the owner actually came out and chatted with me for a bit! He told me that everything in the place was made from scratch, and I don't doubt it.

My recent visit here will be my last. The food was overpriced and it was greasy. The sausage didn't taste right and the place was dirty. Our waitress was eating her breakfast by the computer she was ringing the order in on. Another waitress put her opened soda into the ice cream freezer. We won't be coming back to this place again.

Just another good ol' fashioned hole-in-the-wall family feeling greasy spoon! I mostly echo the reviews of those who came before me. Simple food, nothing too fancy smancy, decent prices, laid back feel, and a wait staff with personality. I think that was my favorite part actually. It's the kind of place where you know the lady bringing you your food could spin some wild tales about the things she has seen, if'n you only had the time to listen. It is the kind of place where they call you "hun" and actually listen when you tell them that you don't want bread on your sandwich. It's a judgement free place, a happy place, a place out of a slower time in history. I haven't had a chance to try the pie yet, but I look forward to it. Mayberry?...Maybe...Maybe just a slice.
(4)Djerk W.
I love the food but it's overpriced for the portions. The host was rude as well. Yelling the total at me like she can't put together a sentence.

Holy Breakfast! Seriously fantastic. I had the biscuits and gravy. I subbed the eggs for the house potatoes and they were perfect. we also ordered a pancake and it was perfect, not soggy but not too thick. We ordered some jam to put on it with their maple syrup. My girlfriend had the omelet which was great and we ended it with slice of blueberry pie which was also a homerun. The service was more than beyond fabulous which topped off the whole experience making it definitely one of the best breakfasts in utah.

I'm giving 4 stars for the pie itself. I got a slice of the last coconut left. The crust wasn't too bad, but the filling was awesome. It had shaved coconut (of corse), almond slivers and a hint of amaretto I'm the cream. Sadly they had very little pie left to choose from... So take heed to what all the other Yelpers say and get there early and get your slice fast - it goes like mad. As far as the food goes, I ordered the wiener schnitzel and it was ok. The thing that detracted from the flavor was due to the grease tasting a little old - so that effected my meal happiness so (3 Stars) for the food.
(4)Natalie B.
This place is hands down one of my favorites. The chicken schnitzel is amazing and you MUST try some pie. I highly recommend raspberry cream!!! The owner Jeff is always there touching tables and the staff is super friendly and caters to your needs. I wish they were open later!!

SLC UT - Their homemade jam with sourdough is delish and their fruit cream pies are phenomenal. Unfortunately we are not fans of the rest of their food. It's okay. We finish what's on our plates but I've been here 4 times ordered different things each time and the people I've been with we've all been underwhelmed. And I wouldn't order what I had again (and neither would my husband). This last time the waiter upsold us on the fresh fruit (an extra $ for the substitution) and what arrived were melons (in winter) and they were hard as a rock and tasteless. My husband compared them to bland buffet fruit and this was after when asked what was her favorite the waitress went on and on about their fruit. Yeah I'm just going to say it: Don't get their fruit. But their fruit cream pies really are divine. Go for that. In fact call ahead and order a whole pie. The fruit cream pies are fruit pies with a thick layer of cream on top and they are just so so so so so so tasty. If you are going for a meal order your slice of pie asap as they sell out FAST. Also I would go and eat their toast and jam again and again. I know it sounds like such a silly thing but it's REALLY very good. On Sunday's when other restaurants just have too long of a wait we've always been able to be seated here quickly. And this does not impact the review but since I like to know for myself, they do not have a changing table in the bathroom.

It has been a challenge in Utah to find a good breakfast place. Just a good ol'fashioned diner with solid food. We have visited for breakfast twice in the last week or so. It's not fancy or trendy, but it's legit. Both visits we had great service and delicious food. The french toast was fresh served with real butter! When I say fresh, I mean that the bread was not stale or tough. Crisp bacon was served as a huge portion and nice, thick cut. The veggie omelet was really lovely as well served with hash browns (yum), rye toast, and homemade jam. The second visit, I tried the special scramble with Canadian bacon, asparagus, and havarti. It was creamy and delicious! We also tried the eggs benedict. Since it was a Sunday, they only serve their house potatoes, which I was initially bummed about but they were surprisingly tasty. The food is simple and done very well. We can't wait to check out their pie but for now, I am so content to have found a really great option that isn't taking any shortcuts and putting out really yummy food.
(5)Kory S.
I've been meaning to come here for a long time but always forgot. Today i finally ate here and OMG!! This is the epitome of a really great greasy spoon diner. I loved it. The food is real. The folks are real too and you know the food is amazing just by the patrons. You gotta try the pie...outstanding!

Mom and I feel deprived when we don't get here for lunch at least once a month. Nothing on the menu has disappointed us. The chef/owner/operator has stopped by to greet us and get our comments several times. I love the usual Wednesday special, Beef on Wek. The roll is just delightful, and the medium rare beef is a treat. Other sandwiches and entrèes have been equally delicious, and the homemade soups I've had are stellar. Went there for a birthday Prime Rib dinner a year or 2 ago, and the meal was only marred by an unusually inattentive server. Perfect pie crust makes dessert hard to resist, and they even freeze peaches so they can offer peach pie year round. The almond joy cream pie is another favorite. Love the little pie shelves they have at each booth--they do run out of some flavors, so it's smart to get your slice right away! Would love to see them do some Spring cleaning, especially on the rope trim on the walls (fun with the lighthouse theme, but apparently a bad idea for cleanliness), and the ceiling and nooks and crannies of the bathroom.

We came in excited to try some place new. We have twins so life isn't exactly easy when dining but we always try to make it work. In any case, as soon as we arrived the hostess noticed our double stroller and told us it wasn't going to work. I'm sure the food is great but the service sucks.
(1)Riley Q.
Soup of the day was delicious. Sketchy parking lot, home feeling diner, and great prices and service.
(4)Heidi W.
After reading great reviews for Left Fork grill I was excited to try their breakfast. The food tasted fresh. The blackberry pancakes were fluffy and light and the pie shelf in the window of each booth is a cute idea. I did not try their pies but they look amazing. The reason for three stars has to do with the young blonde hostess who answered when we called to ask how late they were open and if they were still serving breakfast. She was very quick and surprisingly rude over the phone. She was a little friendlier when we were being seated but then she took a break in the booth next to us with a server and we had to listen to details about her personal life while we finished our meal. Our server was attentive and very kind and the food is definitely worth returning to try other menu items.
(3)Robin A.
Amazing breakfast food, I've tried a few different things on the menu and haven't been disappointed yet,I really like the eggs Benedict or the breakfast sandwich, house potaoes are great as well. The wait staff are friendly and even on a busy Sunday their still on top of things. Definitely get a slice of pie you won't regret it...
(4)Taylor R.
Pretty decent place. Just a local owned joint that seems to have been around for quite some time so it's got its own character to it. Service was friendly (most the servers I saw had to be at least in their 50's) and the manager even came out to chat with people and make sure their meal was good. I got the chicken club sandwich with a side of carrot chips (which seemed unique so I thought I'd have them instead of fries) which altogether made for a great lunch. I would've tried the pie but we didn't have the time. If you're looking for a good local place that's nothing fancy check this place out.
(4)Doyle D.
Pork chop special today=delicious! Always take pie home, to full to eat at restaurant. Food always fresh, flavorful, and priced right. The mashed potatoes were hot and buttery with a flavorful gravey you don't always get at other places.

Ahhhhhhmaazzziinngggg breakfast!!!!! My cousin took us out of towners here before his daughters wedding! Had the spinach, bacon omelette with Gruyere cheese topped with their lovely hollandaise sauce simply divine and I chose the delicious pancake for the side! My cousin ordered corned beef hash which she said was awesome too! Another order was eggs, pancakes and their homemade sausage! They have daily specials which looked pretty awesome too! Everyone was so helpful! Oooooh n their homemade jam on top of my pancake was legit heheheh! Can't wait to make a trip back to Utah and back to this place for breakfast!

The curve was a lot longer on this one, but it appears that this place has settled into the business model it likes, which is a lot closer to a small-town restaurant, catering to a neighborhood of mostly older folks. Fine on them; I've got no truck with keying a menu or restaurant to the elderly. They need a good place, too, but for me, they've gone far enough over to the other side that it's hit the point of diminishing returns (and is now off of my "Restaurants You Should Go" list). There is nothing especially novel here or that has much of a modern twist or sensibility and I could forgive most of that if it was executed better, but even that is mostly average, boring, competent and frequently not quite even that. Almost all of even the quasi-exotic or adventurous choices have vanished entirely. It sort of saddens me, as the menu is nothing that appears challenging, but I've had a version of every meal here, with the more recent two being breakfasts and while formerly this was a place I would take someone to or recommend as a sure thing, it's now mostly something I would tell them if they wanted something "ok", maybe a step above Dee's, but not a great step above Dee's. It's certainly not a place worth waiting for, at all. It's a pity, as this place started so strongly 4 or 5 years ago when we first started going with frequency. Definitely check into the daily specials. Those seem to be the better bets, these days... I should say something about the pies, I suppose. Those have also dropped off, though not quite as greatly as the food. This is still where they shine the brightest and if you venture in, definitely save room for a slice. Service is really hit or miss and again seems keyed directly at what is apparently their desired clientele, so take heed and don't expect anything brilliant, though it is still mostly friendly.

Have been eating here for years food is always good pies are delicious don't wait to the end of the meal to order or they may be gone. I think the best pie by far is the blueberry rhubarb they don't have it often but when they do I always order it The only downside is they do not have a kid friendly menu
(4)Benjamin J.
I'll start out by saying something awful which is the first two times I've had dinner here I came prepared NOT to like it. Thankfully, I've left pleased each time I've been here. My odd and initial pessimism aside, the food here was excellent and service was quick. The pie - delicious. Menu was pretty versatile and ambitious (veal osso bucco? In a "greasy spoon?!?") but solidly delivered all around.
(4)Amanda R.
Left Fork Grill is happy being a diner. The menu is classic American diner, executed with care. Breakfast is my favorite. Freshly squeezed oj, steel-cut oatmeal, sourdough toast with housemade jam and coffee is my usual. Unless I'm feeling decadent - then it's Eggs Benedict (sans ham) - poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce and an English muffin. Top notch food, friendly servers, comfy booths - what more could you want?
(4)Joshua S.
Good crust. Decent fillings. I recommend the banana cream, apple and pecan pies.
(4)John B.
Left Fork Grill is my favorite diner and breakfast spot in SLC. Delicious, fresh, home-style cooking. Folksy, middle-aged waitresses who call everybody honey and darlin'. A documentary-worthy clientele. And the best damn pie in town.
(4)Brett W.
Great place to go for breakfast or even a slice of one of there freshly prepared pies! I like going to this place because the food is great and the chef even walks around making sure his dishes are made to perfection. All of the servers here are super friendly and give great service. Left Fork Grill is Outstanding. My girlfriend and I come here quit a lot and have never had a bad experience with food or service. Best breakfast in south salt lake!
(4)JayCee F.
This place is SO good. I always get their crunchy French toast. Highly recommend this place!!
(5)Robert J.
This place is the best. It's nothing fancy, just a straightforward diner. They serve great food at a decent price. Everything you could want from a diner. If you're into grass fed, free range hummus fusion dishes, this ain't the place for you. Try the chicken fried chicken and the homemade pies. You will thank me later.
(5)ANGELA S.
Best diner on the planet. You'll be happy. Delicious food for reasonable cost. Friendly, hometown people. Hollandaise at a diner?! O hell yes--get the crab benedict!!! Plus... Meaty bacon, rich coffee, made-from-scratch pie crust, meat loaf sandwich that never fils to comfort...and on, and on.... get pie with EVERY meal.
(5)Monica B.
This place has it's charm. It's a nice diner with decent breakfast. I wasn't blown away by the food by any means, but it tasted good. The hubs and I both ordered omelets. We can eat a lot and unfortunately we both finished our meals still feeling hungry. Price was decent, we spent around $20 for 2.
(3)Laura L.
This place is over priced, , poor service and it took a long time for the food to arrive on a Tuesday early afternoon when it was not busy. The food itself was tasty, but small. I would save your $$ and avoid this place for lunch or dinner.
(2)Erika S.
Have eaten breakfast here many times and have not been disappointed!

The wife and I usually go out for breakfast on Sunday mornings. Usually to Eggs in the City or Over the Counter. But OTC is closed for remodeling so we tried Left Fork for the first time. It will likely be our last. If I could give 1.5 stars, I would. What a disappointment. Things started off well enough. The server was cheerful and guided us through menu items she thought were "so good". Before any food arrived, I remarked " I think I like this place". I spoke too soon.. My wife asked for cream for her coffee twice...was told twice "i'll be right back", but 4-5 minutes later...no cream. Finally I went and got it myself. Our breakfast was a bit slow coming out from the kitchen (about 20-25 minutes) and the two orders didn't come at the same time. My wife was served first. She remarked that her bacon had an odd after taste. I tried it, and i concur. I had ordered corn-beef hash and eggs (recommended by the server). I like my eggs sunny side up. When the plate arrived there was no toast. Part of my breakfast ritual is using toast to break, and sop-up the egg yolks. Without the toast, my ritual is broken and I am outside of my breakfast comfort zone. Ooops.."I'll be right back with toast" says the server. "Right back" actually means 4-5 minutes. I started to work on the corned beef hash while waiting for my toast. The Left Fork's hash has an appearance not unlike canned corned beef hash. I actually don't think it was canned...i think they make it there. But the recipe doesn't work for me. Tiny little cubes of undercooked potatoes and tiny little chunks of corned beef swimming in grease. This stomach bomb was still weighing me down like a lead weight, 2 hours after we left the restaurant. Oh...and when the toast did arrive it was covered in the largest glop of margarine I have ever seen on toast. I tried a couple bites...but couldn't eat it. Cold toast with massive quantities of mystery yellow stuff was just too much for me after the oily hash. We asked for the check. The server said "i'll be right back" She came back and said "how was everything?"...no check. She quickly realized she was missing something and soon came back with a check. Thank God. The bill came to about 20% more than we typically pay at the two breakfast joints mentioned earlier. Go figure. Service C ( friendly but absent minded) Food C- ( the only thing they got right was the eggs and some raspberry pancakes that were fairly tasty.)
(2)Brittany B.
Best kept secret in Salt Lake. We have Sunday Brunch here often. The breakfast specials are always intriguing and very good. Try the blackberry or raspberry pancakes as they are to die for. Lunch and dinner at this place has been good too, but I am a huge fan of their breakfast. Wait staff is always friendly and regardless of if we have 3 people or 15 they have always taken great care of us.
(4)Pixie O.
I write this as I'm enjoying my heavenly blackberry peach pie. We've passed the left fork grill a million times without ever stopping and now I realize what I've been missing. I had the pulled pork sandwich and my bf had the burger. Both ate amazingly delicious. The cook stopped by halfway thru our meal to check on us which gave the place a lovely feel and our waitress was very nice and attentive . But the pie!... Yum... even if the service and food was terrible I would come back for the pie. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves diner style food like I do.
(5)Karen S.
I didn't have a meal, but I can definitely give 5 stars to the pie. We were out on one of our 'married for over a decade hot Friday night dates' and were looking for something sweet. Hubby has been wanting some good pie for a long time and since I'm not at all 'kitchen oriented' he's had to rely on recommendations and perfect timing. Well, now was the moment and Left Fork Grill was the recommendation. We bellied up to the bar and asked our server Charlie for her recommendations. I think of myself as a cream pie kind of gal, so I went with the Blackberry Cream. Hubby took her advise and got the Strawberry Rhubarb. As soon as the words came out of his mouth I had order envy. Rhubarb pie is a childhood nostalgia for me. Why didn't I think of that?! We just had it plain, although they do offer 'a la mode'. And they heated up the fruit pie. Another reason for order envy. Hot pie on a chilly night! STILL, I am giving 5 stars to my blackberry cream. It was delightful. The blackberry filling was smooth and had a great mixture of berries and sauce (beware of seeds - but that's just part of the fruit). The crust was perfectly pinched and had great flavor. The cream on top was real, and loaded on so I could mix it with ALL of the berries. No skimping here. I was sad when she took my plate because I was seriously pondering picking it up and licking off the last remnants. Maybe I should be grateful to her for saving me from that embarrassment. NOW, the strawberry rhubarb...mmmm...perfect combination of sweet and sour. Chunks of strawberry and rhubarb. Perfectly flaky crust. Heated to the perfect temperature. Why can't every fruit pie be you? I wanna go back and get one of my own. Two bites (albeit, nice of him to share) were just not enough. They make these fresh in-house every day. The recommendation stands. We got there around 7:30 or 8pm and there were still folks coming in and waiting for tables. It's was a slightly more mature crowd...I think we may have been the youngest folks in there. But hey, with age comes wisdom so the food must be good too. The decor suits the crowd. It feels like a classic small town diner that's been there forever. You feel like you might come across your Great-Uncle Ned that lives just down yonder, and catch up on the latest fishing story. Super charming. I loved it.
(5)Amy A.
First of all, I should have gotten some pie. I am from out of town, I didn't and now I am sad. I went their for lunch with a business associate while in town for, well, business. I ordered the tuna melt with fries. It was really really good. I mean, better than it should have been. It was just a tuna melt, or was it. There is really no secret here...it is fresh food made on the spot in a diner type atmosphere. I ate all of my fries, which I normally don't - if I even order the fries. Too many places do not make them fresh or use cold oil or something...but not Left Fork - fry perfection. My companion ordered the chop salad with chicken. He enjoyed the vinaigrette dressing, which looked like it was not drowning the food. (thats a good thing!) Just a simple place serving up some home style goodness. I will be back next time I am in SLC. And this time I will get PIE!
(4)Emily C.
I decided to come here since I was in the area and the reviews looked pretty good. Here's my experience and thoughts: -don't get a sandwich. My turkey sandwich was literally two slices of bread, a sad looking piece of cheese, mayo, and a couple thin slices of turkey. Okay, but more like something you would serve a small child than an adult with fully developed taste buds. Not worth the price at all. -the carrot chips are raw carrots that have been sliced to resemble a waffle fry. I feel like I've accidentally ordered these somewhere else before. - the strawberry rhubarb pie was more like strawberry pie. Okay, but a not for me. The other pies all looked great though. - I sat at the counter and every 2 minutes someone was asking me if I needed anything else. It was a little overkill. Overall, I'd recommend skipping lunch and just getting a piece of pie and some coffee. Or maybe something hot. Definitely not a sandwich though.
(3)Cee L.
it's pricey, and the service stinks. the food is ok but nothing great - the portions are on the small size. takes a long time to get your food and the 'servers' act as if you should consider their presence a favour. they aren't charming.
(2)Andrew S.
Wow Su C.! I was here this weekend as well and for the same reason as you. I saw the wonderful review from Vanessa Chang in the trib and I had to check it out! So I really wanted to like this place as I love pie! Pie is important to me and good pie is often hard to find. So when I saw Vanessa's review, I had to try this place. As I drove up to this place it was a bit hidden among all the commercial buildings, but I did find it and parking was easy to achieve in the small lot. I entered the building and immediately saw the pie menu and made my choice so I could, as the review instructed, order it first so they wouldn't run out. I ordered Strawberry Rhubarb. A pie I love! I was being directed to a seat when a friend popped out of a booth and hailed me. It was good to see him and he said he was a regular and on his 8th cup of coffee. So that gave me hope that this place was great. After all my friend liked it. The menu was filled with comfort food galore and you all know I like that, so I ordered the Chicken Schnitzel. While I was waiting for the meal the pie arrived and I held off eating eat so I could have it for desert. The torture! The schnitzel arrived and looked all comforty and wonderful in all its gravy and cheese covered goodness! Then I dug in. First, the gravy on the schintzel and the cheese and the crunchy chicken was tasty, but I have had better, it was a bit watery. Then I tired the mashed potatoes. Yuck. They were like paste from a box. I thought everything was scratch. Maybe, but too wet and over whipped. Then the steamed broccoli. It was good and the first bite was warm, but the rest was cold. So not so good after all. Then the pie. Well, it had a ton of strawberries and maybe a piece of rhubarb. So it was not so great filling and then the bottom crust was doughy and soggy. The top was flaky, but the flavor just wasn't there. After I paid I paused to read the review hanging on the wall. It was written by that Ted guy of City Weekly fame (I disagree with him a lot). He was raving about it as well. Actually I think I could say gushing! So what did I miss Ted and Vanessa? I feel like I was slightly robbed of this great experience you promised. I have to go back and give it one more chance, because I want to know what I am missing.
(2)Lisa C.
Very good lunch. Must try the pie!
(5)Karen T.
I have only sampled their breakfast foods and pies so I really cannot speak to the dinner menu. I have been eating at this place for a couple of years, and I love it for several reasons. First, they have traditional american breakfast food, but they put their own spin on it. Secondly, it is actually possible to get a table at 10 am on a Sunday! Lastly, they serve up tasty food, in a wholly unpretentious atmosphere. The spinach, bacon, and gruyere omelette, sweet corn and Havarti scramble, smoked salmon and cream cheese scramble, and the stuffed blueberry pancakes are all amazing. I did dock one star because the potatoes are always a bit overdone and salty for my tastes, but the delicious rye bread with homemade jam makes up for it.
(4)Sarah C.
Julia L. is right. Left Fork was/is wonderful, one of my top 3 in Utah, up until the past 6 months or so. I don't know what happened, a change in cook-staff/ingredients/budget, but whatever it was it compromised their quality. I'm still a regular, but my frequency has declined and will continue to do so if things don't get back on track. I still tell people to go, however, because last time I was there they seemed to be turning things back around, and also the reason I gave them 4 stars. (they would have gotten 5 from me in earlier days) They have made a few additions to their menu, such as a surprisingly good burrito, and the pies got back to their phenomenal yumminess. The waitresses are still great, especially Vicki, and good service combined with made-from-scratch food is worth overlooking past indiscretion.
(4)Rangar B.
Sweet lady waitress, really helpful. The PIE is worth the trip, and so is the soup.
(4)John R.
Oh yeah! Great down to earth breakfast with locals. Eggs benny were to die for. Service was great and friendly.
(4)John K.
Great place. My one experience was breakfast on Sunday morning ad I sat at the counter. I was waited on quickly after I sat down and ordered the Blackberry pancake special (pancakes, 2 eggs, and bacon). Everything was cooked perfectly and the blackberry pancakes were outstanding. They were more the flapjack style than the cake style. I prefer flapjack and they were perfect. I took a piece of blueberry pie for desert later. It was great. Nice flakey crust with a great thick blueberry filing. Yumm!
(5)Chad R.
I've been going to Left Fork for maybe pushing two years. I'll go through phases where I'm there at least once a week, and occasionally where I won't be there for at least a month, and sometimes much longer. But I have been there at least a couple dozen times as a conservative estimate. And it's nearly always for breakfast (though I can say the burger and meatloaf sandwich are great, and when I do make it in for dinner I'll add some more reviews). I live nearby so it's the closest thing I have to a neighborhood joint. Point is, I love the place. My 5 star rating reflects my attachment to the diner as much as anything. But I do love the food. Some have commented on a decline in quality, and while I don't totally disagree (and I know that some reviewers were there in the halcyon days of the diner so their opinions carry a lot of weight) I don't think any decline is that severe or across the board. In fact before I get into what I love, I'll mention my main complaint. Their breakfast potatoes. I love hash browns, but because they are only served on weekdays I don't get to try them that often. Last week I was able to make it on a weekday, and the hash browns were mushy. Denny's can serve up a better plate of hash browns. And the other breakfast potatoes (home fries?) are hit or miss. Last time I was in I overheard a nearby patron ask how the home fries were that day, and when the waitress indicated they were no good, he ordered the standard fries. This was Saturday around 11 and they were serving breakfast and lunch, so I don't know if this is always an option, but next time I'll ask. I took my mom and sisters once recently, and my sister said the biscuits and gravy were OK but swore that the gravy was not made in house, and apparently she's an expert in this. My mom, who lives out of state, did say the pancakes were good, but not the best she's had in Utah. But everyone else I've taken have had no complaints at all, and I know I've converted at least a couple now regulars. Anyway, on to what I love. The sausage patties are great (and I know my sausage patties), the eggs have always been cooked to perfection and the specials never disappoint. On the regular menu, I like the eggs benedict, standard two eggs with sausage breakfast and both of the breakfast sandwiches they offer. For specials, try the asparagus scramble, chipped beef on toast, and any of the pancake specials. I recently had the roast beef hash, which replaces corned beef with prime rib, and it. was. incredible. Really, the best breakfast I've had at a restaurant in years. I will get that every time it's on the specials board. Oh yeah, apparently they have pies. Kidding, every pie I've had is incredible. I especially like the raspberry cream, pecan and sweet potato, which they don't always have. If you haven't been, it's worth a shot. I'm obviously biased, so it may not be a 5 star experience for you, but it should be very good.
(5)Teri H.
While in Salt Lake I dined here with a long-time friend. The phrase "comfort food" gets thrown about a lot lately - I would describe Left Fork Grill as dishing up close to the real deal (except they don't offer macaroni and cheese - can't be a "comfort food" restaurant if you don't offer mac & cheese). I had meat loaf, friend had liver & onions. The meat loaf was very close to what I make myself, and friend said liver was perfectly cooked (not a liver lover myself, but hubby is and I know it is easy to cook it poorly). Both meals came with good mashed potatoes (could have used a little more gravy) and corn that tasted like it had been cut fresh from the cob - crisp and sweet. Portions were good-sized - but not so huge that there wasn't room for a slice of their pie. Other menu items included wiener schnitzel and there was a salmon special that sounded really good. If I were just driving by, I'd probably never stop here, as this is not the location you'd expect to find a good restaurant in and the building looks kind of shabby from the outside - and isn't much on the inside, for that matter. But what does matter is the good food & good service. While service was friendly, efficient and prompt, we did not feel rushed. I heard wait staff addressing some customers by name. I would love to come back next time I'm in SLC and try their breakfasts. If we still lived in SLC Is suspect this just might be one of those places we'd go on a regular basis, when we wanted a "home-cooked" meal or breakfast, but didn't want to cook it.

This place is awesome for good comfort/diner food. Not only is this place cheap, but the food is good and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. When you visit this place you need to try either the Chicken Schnitzel or the Eggs In A Hole for breakfast. Oh... I almost for to mention the breakfast sausage, it's made in house and is very good. After visiting Left Fork a few times the staff tends to remember you and it's always nice to visit a restaurant where people know you. This place is consistently good and is worth the visit.

It doesn't look like much and I expected it to be mediochre after I felt overlooked by the host staff who didn't acknowledge me quickly. The menu is simple diner food for breakfast or lunch. The coffee was what I expected, but my meal was better than. I had a tuna melt and it was very good. Not greasy, good tuna mixture and it came with a dill pickle, which I love, and carrot chips which were very fresh and crunchy and had some nice ranch dressing for dipping. The waitress a good job and my overall experience was good!

I ordered the 1/2 turkey sandwich with fries and pie. The sandwich was 2 pieces of wheat bread, mayo, and thin sliced processed turkey. Hey, I didn't order a kids meal. The fries tasted like fish and the pie had a weird taste that I could not identify. Maybe another entree and desert would be better.

This is what a diner should be. Simple dishes cooked to perfection. Rather than hit those greasy spoons which are flavorless, Left Fork is all fresh and truly delicious. Burgers, sandwiches, seafood, & other fine comfort foods served in a non-pretentious, yet clean and friendly environment. Don't forget to save room for the pie! Best pies in town, & they sell out fast.

Well since I'm on my wife's account Ill start with her review first"I liked my burger." OK now I gave it three stars for one reason that just got my ass a little burned ordered breakfast and my egg's medium) and they came with a nice dark brown crispy edge and I hate that, but since Ive never been there before I was cool about it and even told my server that I wasn't trying to be a dick about it.Its a personal thing and I was going to keep them. She just knew something was up cause I made a gross face when they hit the table. The three stars is because two booths down the other servers were folding napkins and when mine went and sat down she started talking shit.I could hear her and they all looked over at me like I was a dick.I swear I was cool about it.Call me petty,at least go out of earshot...The pie I hear is pretty good but at 11 am they were out of all but one kind. So there you have it.I would go back. The food wasn't bad at all.....

left fork grill is a diner that offers the standard diner food. the atmosphere is inviting, wait help is friendly, and the comfort food hits the spot. i like that the cook/owner eats his meals in the dining room with the patrons, waits tables, comes out to ask how the food is, etc. left fork grill is most famous for their homemade pies. flaky, flaky, flaky crust. berry fillings, creme fillings, pumpkin, apple...standard pies and sharp new creations served up daily. the selection rotates and sells out before the lunch crowd leaves so get there early to experience your slice of euphoria.

My brother and I went to the Left Fork Grill on a whim, for a late lunch. It was our first visit and we weren't disappointed. My brother had the chicken noodle soup and it reminded us of our Grandma's. Lots of noodles and chicken, very tasty. I had the tuna sandwich which was good but a little bland. However what it lacked in taste, it made up for in freshness. I hate fishy tuna, and this sandwich wasn't fishy smelling. I also liked that the tuna was Albacore and packed in water (or so the server said) and I loved the whole grain bread it was served on. After our meal, we both ordered pie. I got the banana cream which was good, but my brother's pie selection was the best---Jumbleberry pie. He had it warmed and A La Mode. It beat any other cafe pie I've ever tasted. The crust was a close second to my Grandma's too which is a HUGE compliment. Along with a wonderful and friendly server we really enjoyed our meal. Next, trying out breakfast.

One of my favorite breakfast spots! Weekends are great for specials. One of my favorites was a creamed chipped beef over toast. Corned beef hash is the perfect blend of meat and potatoes. Eggs always cooked perfectly... I'm an over medium egg eater. Omelette are generous and filling. Coffee is fresh and plentiful. The staff is totally awesome. All the ladies are friendly and fun to chat with. Best part is pie for breakfast: be sure to order a slice and don't wait til the end to enjoy it! The coconut cream pie is the best in town! Parking can be tough on the weekend but worth the trouble or walk.

Left Fork is my favorite breakfast/brunch spot in Salt Lake. I usually get pancakes--either the regular menu version or the pancake special. They are always delicious and if my husband doesn't ask for a bite pretty quickly, they're likely to be gone. The place is nothing fancy, but I have loved everything I've tried there. I would have given it five stars, but I worry that creates weird expectations. I love everything about this place, but I'm not sure there's anything particularly "special" about it. Just good, solid food in a comfortable, laid-back diner.
(4)Candice C.
We go there often, I don't think I have ever been disappointed. The burgers are one of the best in town and they have some of the best breakfast choices, including different specials each time we go in. They also have some of the most unique pie choices around (like grapefruit) if you don't think you have room take a slice to go. I think my favorite has been the banana cream!
(4)Gina E.
We chose this restaurant based on Yelp reviews and were not disappointed. Our party of 6 ordered a variety of menu items and everyone was happy. The house made dressings for our salads were all tasty, the portions generous, but not ridiculously huge. Fresh made rolls with freezer jam - oh yeah. French fries were fresh cut, served sizzling with the ketchup already on the table. Now let's talk Pies. OMG. All home made. Left stuffed and extremely happy. Thank you Anna for great service and Chef Jeff for caring enough to serve the best.

A favorite spot for take out lunch at work. Good pies, nice staff, yuumy meatloaf sandwich. Recommended, probably the best placein the area.
(4)Felipe Z.
I like the left fork grill. I love their breakfast menu, which is usually what I am feeling like when I go there, as they have pretty good options for breakfast/brunch. Get the cream cheese salmon, or the corn beef hash... oh gosh, or the fruit with yoghurt and granola. delish. They have fresh pies, and you can order a full one, which they will have ready the next day. Everyone in the staff has always been nice, the bathroom is clean, and so is the place. Definitely a must go for breakfast in SLC.
(4)Rüt G.
I go to left fork at least 2-3 times a week and their service is amazing. I love the home style food. Let's not forget the pie, it's delicious to say the least. I definitely recommend this place for breakfast and lunch! Yummy food!
(4)Baylee B.
We visited Left Fork Grill for lunch one day, and it was okay. Everyone in our group seemed to like the food, and the service was alright. It did take a while to be served; with a party of 6 we were there for over an hour. It was a bit expensive for the quality, and the ambience of the overall restaurant is not super pleasant; it had the vibe of a pretty average diner. I will say that the pie was very delicious! Overall, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great, and I probably would not visit again.
(3)Cassie G.
It was great. Fast service and the pancakes were so soft and fluffy. That's my favorite thing. My hubby got the omelet and said it was great
(5)Sam S.
We stopped here the other day for Sunday breakfast. Left Fork Grill is a nice diner-style restaurant with comfortable booths and lots of tables and chairs. The breakfast sandwich I had was delicious. My wife also enjoyed her food. I would eat here again.
(5)Kelie H.
I didn't eat a fancy meal at Left Fork, in fact, all I had was a turkey sandwich with lettuce and tomato on white with a side of fries and a sweet tea. And pie. You can't go to a place that toots it own horn about the pie and not try a piece. Though my lunch was simple, I loved everything about it. Everything was fresh, flavorful and used quality ingredients. I loved that as I sat there servers greeted people by name as they sat at the counter. I loved that the chef came out several times to chat with patrons and even sat at the counter and ate his lunch with a regular. This is a diner of the past, and I don't want to see them die.
(5)Luka L.
I love the classic blue-collar diner feel of the place. The food was great and the service was wonderful! The pie was absolutely fantastic!
(4)Kevin S.
We went here for breakfast for the first time. Overall it was a good experience. The restaurant could have been much cleaner and the service was average at best. The coffee was disappointing. However, the food was pretty good. I had the biscuits and gravy. Very good but the bacon could have been cooked longer and it was very greasy. My wife had the corned beef hash and she said it was very good. Did not have the opportunity to try the pie. Overall it is ok but worth another visit sometime.
(3)Tony S.
The pulled pork sandwich left a great deal to be desired. Waitress must have been new as she asked me if I knew what I wanted before she gave me a menu. Another waitress spent 5-10 minutes on the counter right next to me reconciling receipts. I was looking for a little dive joint with good food and service and this was neither.
(1)Sheri B.
Excellent! Chicken Marsala was better than Cheesecake Factory. The snow peas were sweet, crisp ... Delicious !!!! My hubby's Prime Rib was very flavorful.
(5)Carolyn P.
I've been going here for a few years now and the food is delish! Service is fast and friendly and that guy in the chef's jacket always stops and chats. Great Place - go there often.
(5)Trinette U.
Corn beef and hash. Very crispy. Extra small potatoes made it very good. Served with poached eggs and toast. Homemade jam. I had the quiche served with a great selection of fruit. Very generous with the fruit and it was presented very well. The quiche was moist and flavorful. The fruit perfect. We decided to try the pie. After all, they are known for pie. We had blueberry and it was simply yummy. The blueberries were huge, not too sweet with a touch of cinnamon. Yes, they deserve to be known for their pies
(5)Laurie R.
Left Fork Grill is one of my favorite breakfast places. Pie for breakfast. It's awesome. Know what else is awesome? The smoked salmon scramble. I can't say enough about this delicious cheesy, salmony, eggy slice of awesomeness. It reminds me of something you'd get in the Pacific Northwest. I think it's my favorite breakfast item EVER. The scramble is served with toast and this little cup of soft homemade jam. It's delicious even though it's a bit runny and I really enjoy it. As for the pie, I love how crisp and tender the bottom crust is. My favorite is the banana cream pie. I always take home a slice whenever I'm there.
(4)Matthew Z.
This place is mediocre, yet expensive. $30 for two seemed like a lot- I was charged for substitutes, the waitress was not nice (I had to flag down another waitress frequently to get decent service), and the clientele ranged from bigoted conspiracy theory kook to trailer park redneck. My wife explicitly ordered eggs Florentine with no meat, but they still put some giant slabs of ham on her food. Gee, how considerate! What I don't get about Left Fork Grill is this: The head chef is a graduate of the New England Culinary institute in Montpelier Vermont, and DESPITE THIS, Left Fork Grill served me pancakes with fake maple syrup (log cabin or something like that). To me, that speaks volumes about the chef's menu and his choice of ingredient selection. There's no point in making good pancakes if you have no choice but to slather cheap syrup on top. Either Left Fork Grill is too cheap or lacks the resolve to carry quality syrup. Need I add to this they also don't have blueberry pancakes. Ugh. I feel insulted, and I'm not satisfied. If Left Fork Grill's management reads this review, please, don't contact me to change my mind about my bad experience. Rather, change your menu or your waitstaff if you have to. If any Yelpers out there know where to get real pancakes with real maple syrup, please let me know. I'm starting to think I'll have to bring a flask of the real stuff with me wherever I go.

I really liked this place. Our server was very friendly and the food was delectable. We ordered the chicken schnitzel, and in my opinion was one of the best things I've ever had. My fiance when asked if he liked the chicken schnitzel replied with a simple "meh". I don't think he quite knows what he's talking about though because it was fantastic. We are also snobs when it comes to mashed potatoes, but this place did it right. the mashed potatoes get 5 out of 5 stars. I had actually read some reviews whilst sitting at the restaurant, and found that we should definitely try their pie. Of course we couldn't eat the pie then because we were very stuffed from the meal, so we took it home and let me just say it was delicious. My fiance did not want me to give this place 5 stars only 4, because he did not like the schnitzel very much but I'm giving it 5 stars anyway because I don't think that's fair. He's never even had schnitzel! Not only was our server extremely friendly and polite, but our food arrived lightning fast. I wasn't even finished with my side salad when she brought the entree, which is definitely a good thing in my opinion. We were very happy to stumble upon this place, and we hope you enjoy it as well!

While on a distribution run for QSaltLake, I saw this place, peered in and decided I need to try it. I love diners. I'm one who skips the fast food at freeway exits in search of the town diner and am rarely disappointed. A few weeks later a friend suggests we try it. I was early and was greeted by no less than 3 people. I was impressed, not overwhelmed. I had the daily special - Beef on a weck. Oh. My. God. Start with the most tender rare roast beef you've had, add perfectly carmelized onions, a very mild horseradish (I could have stood a bit more bite) and put it on a kummelweck roll. Heaven in your mouth. I had never tried a 'weck' roll, but loved the tang of kosher salt and caraway seeds. It was so flakey I first thought it was a croissant. Add a side of some of the best coleslaw in the valley (vinaigrette-based, not mayo), an unpretentious atmosphere and the fact the owner-chef, Jeff, came to the table to greet us and explain what I just ate, and you have a great lunch experience. The service was attentive yet not in your face. The food came quickly and the place was clean. Thanks for a great lunch, Jeff and crew.
(5)Lisa H.
My husband and I go here every weekend. My standard is a pancake and a slice of pie, both of which are amazing. Everything here is from scratch; I buy my jam here, because it's ze best. Every person who works there is fantastic and out food always comes faster than at most busy breakfast places. We love Left Fork in out house.
(4)Kent S.
We moved to SLC a little over two months ago and have been searching for our weekend morning breakfast place. Today, I think we found it. Friendly, helpful people and delicious food! The service was fast and our server was one of the nicest, friendliest people we've met since moving here. We had the biscuits and gravy and a mushroom and cheese omelet. The biscuits and gravy? Best I've ever had. Just be aware that they use lots of butter and cheese on their omelets, so you just have to let them know to hold back if you don't like lots of those ingredients.
(5)Todd M.
I had the pulled pork sandwich and was not impressed at all. Others in my party had the crab salad which they liked and the broccoli and cheese soup, which also got good reviews. Overall, nothing special at all. We didn't have The pies but they looked good.
(2)Ameilia Q.
This is another breakfast spot that I wanted to like but I just didn't. I ordered the salmon scramble for breakfast; I was hoping it would be something like Finn's poached salmon breakfast plate but I was certainly disappointed. I don't think the smoked salmon was of very good quality and it tainted the entire dish; also the side of potatoes were delivered cold. And for the price, around $9.00, I really wished I had just gone to the Park Cafe- better food, better portions, and less expensive. The service was good and the coffee was decent. I was surprised that they did not have a kids menu. I will not be back.

I haven't been to Left Fork for breakfast in awhile, and I was worried that it wasn't going to be as good as it used to be. Deep sigh of relief.... It remains one of my fav. places to get yummy breakfast. Greasy spoon decor, with hearty breakfast fare. May I suggest the Toad in a Hole or the French Toast. I even liked the homemade sausage, even though I am not a sausage fan. I have been here once for dinner (admittedly over a year ago) and it was pretty good, but its still breakfast and the pie for me all the way. P.S. my friend couldn't find a sitter, so we had her 18 mo. old with us. Thanks to the fastest service on a Saturday morning I've ever experienced, we were happily satisfied and outta there before the toddler's attention span gave out.
(4)Cayla R.
I highly recommend getting the smothered chili verde burrito. So delicious and definitely enough for leftovers.

It all started with the article in Salt Lake Magazine praising Left Fork Grill for their tremendous homemade pies. For weeks I kept the story in my car, presenting it to innocent friends and co-workers who had made the poor decision of accepting a ride from me-- "We have to go get pie at Left Fork Grill!" I'd insist, pointing and jabbing at the article. Lord knows, I love me some pie. Fast forward to yesterday. I'd successfully enlisted others to partake in "pie for breakfast" day with me and was so giddy with excitement for my blackberry cream and strawberry rhubarb pie slices that it didn't bother me at all that our tabletop was layered with grease. I was even willing to overlook the fact that our server rubbed her runny nose with her bare hand and then used it to grab plates for our table. There was pie to be had, and the over-seasoned sausage patties and wet, undercooked hash browns were not about to deter me from enjoying it. Turns out the pie itself was enough to deter me from enjoying the pie. The crust on the blackberry cream pie was exceptionally thin and didn't hold up to the filling. Whatever cream they used for the topping (whether it was cut with something or flavored with something unnatural) was reminiscent of Cool Whip. The blackberry filling itself had decent flavor, which redeemed it a bit. The strawberry rhubarb pie was entirely disappointing. The filling had zero structure, was essentially just a pile of indistinguishable mush, and the crust was not only too firm, but lacked flakiness and had too much egg wash, giving it an almost hard, waxy texture. In the end, the third slice of pie we had originally considered ordering never got ordered, and we left the restaurant feeling we'd wasted "pie for breakfast" day on the wrong set of pies.
(2)Randy R.
Good diner food, save room for the excellent pies.
(4)Tom H.
I've been here three times in my life and all three times the food as been plan old (Meh). They dont use enough seasoning's in their food and being a big guy it's quite the cramped little place. The service in the restaurant is great they treat you well but it's not a good experience if all you look forward to is your tiny slice of pie.... lol... I wouldn't recommend coming here.
(2)Heather A.
it's been a while since i have dined at Left Fork. i used to work in the neighborhood and went there a lot. but back then i wasn't registered with Yelp ...now i am! i like left fork. i don't think it's pretty. but i do think it's tasty. i loved the steak salad and tuna salad. it's not hoity toity and i think it falls in line with that. the fries are divine and the garlic burger is really nice. i know the ladies i worked with were huge fans of the meatloaf sandwich. (i never tried it) jeff, the owner, would come by and make sure things were satisfactory. i really enjoyed (the majority of) the staff and with as frequently as i would go there, we would occasionally get mediocre service but overall it was attentive and good. but the pie! oh...i heart the pie. i usually spent more than i intended to, but i never walked away hungry!
(4)G S.
We go to this place a lot. The pie is excellent when you get it in restaurant. The service has been good for the most part, and the restaurant is clean. We like the halibut here, highly recommend it for lunch. Just like my review of Tammy's, this place serves tasty breakfast also. One of my trusty standbys.
(4)Andrew L.
Expectations; I wanted breakfast, and I got breakfast. You can't make mistakes doing it, it's pretty simple. This place, I had some level of expectations, I had read from some other review sites on the internet that I should stop by this place. So, without hesitation (I don't mind trying new places), I took the morning and drove over. It's like the other reviewers mentioned, in a business park, outside of Salt Lake, and not hard to find. I'm not from around here, but it seemed like it isn't that hard of a drive to find. So they have a parking lot, with plenty of spots, and going in, it feels like a diner. I menu is a nicely packed list of lunch, dinner, snacks... and breakfast. They had specials, but I just choose something simple, Corned Beef Hash. The flavor was there, the two eggs, and toast, was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were cooked, with a little bite, and the beef hash was salted well. It was outstanding, but it was breakfast. Hey, if you are hungry, looking for breakfast, it's a good place, with nice servers, and food which is the standard fare. Don't expect to find any signature breakfast foods, just the normal fill you up meal.
(3)Drew J.
It's my favorite little cafe in Salt Lake!
(5)Ray C.
I've eaten here on several occasions and always had exceptional breakfast food! The spinach, bacon, & gruyere cheese omelet is very good. Pancakes are some of the best in town too! But, the service is four star! Definitely going back for more & I'd really like to check out their lunch someday.
(3)David S.
Lisa and I tried the Left Fork Grill for the first time on Friday night. We found it on the Local Eats iPhone app and it was rated on the "Top 100" in Salt Lake City list. First of all, you can relax. Very homey atmosphere and it was obvious that many people there were regulars. Lisa ordered the meatloaf and I had the New York Strip salad and we shared. The meatloaf was GREAT- done with a lot of flavors (onions, green peppers) and finished on the grill, which I always love. The broccoli was done just right and the mashed potatoes were good. My steak was cooked as ordered (medium rare) and the blue cheese was broiled on very nicely. This is diner food done very well. Waitresses were attentive to refills on water and soda. We will go back when we are looking for a good diner.
(4)Kristi M.
This place is convenient to where I live, so my husband and I have given them 3 chances....Saturday morning brunch (can't serve alcohol until 10:30am) for breakfast and mimosas. Each time the food is average and the champagne is drowned in OJ. I thought maybe it was just whoever was doing the pouring, but apparently that is just how they make a mimosa. Needless to say, I will not be wasting $6ish on 90% Orange Juice 10% champagne again! Oh, and the OJ the use is full of pulp so I found myself trying to spoon out the pulp!!!!!
(2)Jeffrey S.
Comfort food. Can I be honest? I only have a vague notion of what that means. Is it food that you eat that makes you feel comfortable? Because if that's the case, then I'd consider just about anything comfort food, besides the atomic hot stuff. Who's comfortable when your mouth is fighting for its survival? Is it food that reminds you of your childhood, like mom's food that was so comforting as a kid? Not that mom didn't have some all-stars in her lineup, but I don't exactly love runny tuna fish sandwiches. Didn't as a kid, sure don't now. Oddly enough, without being able to really define what comfort food is what I do know is how to identify a place that serves it. I can at least assign the name "comfort food" to a restaurant based on a few factors: the ambiance, the service, and mostly the menu. It's not an exact science, but my comfort food geiger counter was clicking off the charts the first time I walked in to Left Fork Grill. First, the ambiance. The building is on the north side of 3900 South next to some office buildings in a part of town that approaches a light industrial personality. So it's not like folks are out for a night on the town and they pop in here to check it out. The clientele are loyal customers, on their way to work, stopping in for lunch, or visiting with friends. I came by for pie one evening and I was the youngest guy in there. By at least a decade, probably two. The interior is functional. I don't think it screams "interior decorator" but it's not horrible. Maybe just a sprinkle of a lodge look to it with some wood and stones. The service is the perfect picture of diner staff. There are no formalities. No how-do-you-dos. It's straight to business. Which is not to say they're not nice. They're incredibly loving. The servers... it doesn't feel right to call them servers... they're waitresses. The waitresses know many of their customers by name, they greet them warmly when they arrive and hug them goodbye. There's one waitress they just call Mama. Very kind folks, but you won't get the pomp and circumstance here. Finally, the menu. The part I least understand about what "comfort food" is, but the part that makes me declare unequivocally that Left Fork deserves that description. Meatloaf. Turkey plate. Mashed potatoes. Veggies. Soup. Patty melt. All items that fall squarely into that classification. And they're not completely straight forward. Some of them have just the littlest twists that make them interesting. And finally, let's talk about the pie. The reason I tried Left Fork in the first place. My first piece was strawberry-rhubarb. Since then, I've also tried the blackberry cream and the blueberry. I should clarify that at some point in the last two or three years I've become a pie fiend. A fanatic. A freak. So I'm shouting about their pies now from a place of love and as a guy who wants nothing more than pies to dominate the dessert scene. All that said, I'm definitely recommending the pies at Left Fork. There is nothing more comforting than a slice of their just-like-Mom's pie. The strawberry-rhubarb was incredibly sweet, but then that rhubarb sour sneaks up on you in the end. The blackberry cream--all the cream for that matter--have a thick cream topping berry filling. And the blueberry had the tiniest, cutest little blueberries inside. The crust was not too overpowering with crumbly dryness and minded its thin manners well. I'm a soft crust guy, but this flaky kind was pretty close to golden perfect. I will be back to try other flavors, fosho. The diner movement is going strong in America. But rather than trying to be cool or hip or diner-trendy, Left Fork really is a mid valley diner. A place where Mama and the girls serve up food to honest folks who chase it down with a piece of pie. And what could be more comforting than that?
(4)Heather P.
Really enjoyed this place. At first was a bit skeptical but after arriving i was quite surprised. The place was really cute and very clean. It is a cute diner with lots of booths and a counter, It had an old time feeling to it. The waitress was nice and attentive even though it was getting quite busy. I started with a salad. The ranch dressing was the best ever it was not like that sour warm stuff that you usually run into at other places and the lettuce was fresh. I ordered the open faced turkey with mash potatoes, stuffing and cranberry sauce. It was delish! They have Pie too Yay love pie and there was no shortage. They had everything from banana cream, chocolate, blue berry, razz berry cream and much more. I will be going back to enjoy more yummy food and i recommend this place to all. bon appetite!!!
(4)Justin C.
When you step into Left Fork Grill, it feels like a roadside diner. Don't get me wrong - I love that ambience, but it sets my expectations at Smuckers carousels and a boilerplate breakfast menu. Left Fork definitely exceeds those expectations. They do have standard breakfast fare (which is done very well), but also do more than that. My friend had an egg and chorizo dish. I had crab eggs benedict, which I haven't seen anywhere else in SLC. Plus, they have their own jam and I'm told their pies are very good. Finally, they're inexpensive!
(4)Alex A.
Left fork is great. They always have delicious food, and even when they are very busy (almost always haha) they are on their a game. The food gets out pretty quickly, but always tastes great, and the service is friendly/attentive. The atmosphere has a cool, relaxed and enjoyable feel. I've been going here for years, definitely recommend them.
(5)Daniel M.
Not a bad little diner. The sandwiches are a little pricey but good, and they have pretty good breakfast, again, kinda pricey. They're not the quickest but they're friendly and it's good food!
(4)Maestro L.
good food a bit pricey. service can be slow.
(3)Dan H.
Just went there for the first time. Great service, great food. Their schnitzel is really good. Definitely in a class of their own.
(5)Taylor W.
Love this place! As soon as you walk in, everyone greets you with a smile. The food is delicious every time. Breakfast served till 3. Homemade pies look delicious. And the toast with homemade jam is to die for.
(4)Giselle V.
Had the special today which was a Monte cristo sandwich and the cherry lemon coconut pie. The pie totally lived up to the hype. The sandwich was really good . I managed to spend twenty dollars on just lunch for myself so I probably won't be going back often .
