The chicken shwarma is really amazing! A good punch of spices and turmeric that really make this soft flavorful chicken stand out among the crowd.

What a delightful surprise in a random strip mall. The owner/chef is really nice and offered up suggestions and gave out samples. I settled on the mediterranean nachos and I was one happy girl. Garbanzo chips, cheese, mango salsa, hummus, and shwarma. YUM. Also, some of the best yogurt dill sauce I've had. Fresh and delicious! The portions are huge. I could have shared those nachos with two others and I would have been content. Prices are pretty fantastic too! I can't wait to go back and try their flatbread pizzas and the burrito. Cous cous in a burrito? Sign me up!

I go there often. I love the athmosphere. The owner is very friendly and makes sure his customer are well taken care of. The food is made from scratch, very good and healthy. I do recommend for everyone to give it a try.

5 stars for sure! This new place is right up the street from where I work and my husband & I decided to try it out on Monday. We were not disappointed. He had the Mediterranean Burrito with shrimp and I had the Gourmet Pita with shrimp. We both had a side salad with their house dressing. I love the lemon basil dressing so much I could have sipped it with a straw and forgot the lettuce. My pita was great! Some of the softest bread ever and the shrimp was grilled perfectly. It had sauteed onions, sauteed fresh mushrooms and real guac, not that plastic stuff you get sometimes. My pita came with a side of flavorful couscous and my husband had chips and mango salsa. Very good salsa.. I had to steal some off his plate. Speaking of plates, they had white square glass dishes, not some plastic or paper you sometimes get. I highly recommend this place. Great food, friendly staff and awesome location.

This is my favorite restaurant as of late. Everything I have tried is amazing. The best thing I have tried is the Gluten Free Salmon with zucchini noodles. They always have an amazing chocolate something or other. They make some amazing iced tea as well. The owner always seems to be there to make sure everything is great! Signage is not the best so it might take a minute to find, but so worth it!

This place is amazing. So far I've stuck to the wraps and pita dishes, but every item I've tried has been great. As of now I'm 5 for 5 and I figure it's time to bust out the five-star rating. What, might you ask, are the items I've tried that have been so thoroughly fantastic? The Butterfly Shrimp Wrap, the Shwarma Wrap, and the Gourmet Style Chicken Pita. Delicious! I also mooched off my wife's Shwarma Plate and that was tasty as well. Just thinking of this place makes me want to go back. I'd also highly recommend the garbonzo chips, accompanied by the incredibly tasty hummus and out-of-this world mango salsa. If you haven't tried this place yet, just go.

As far as Mediterranean food goes, this is the absolute best I've had in the area! As the name states, Cous Cous is offered and mighty fine to the palette. My favorite, however, is the CousCous Specialty flatbread. Oh my. Oh my, Oh my. Oh my. I guess I'm speechless. I took my family in from Ohio to try this, as well as other sandwiches and plates and they all loved everything they had. My new husband favors the variety of soups and tries them every time we go in. Our favorite is the lamb chili, which even has quinoa in it! There probably isn't much I can say that other Yelpers haven't already said. The service is very quick, the facility is very clean, the food leaves my tastebuds longing for more well past the time my belly has exploded, and the people in charge are super friendly. We asked them what they thought of all their Yelp reviews and one man said he almost cried in gratitude and appreciation after reading some of the reviews. He added how generous Yelpers are in their reviews. I think many, many business owners out there think the contrary of Yelpers reviewing their establishments, it's just that Couscous really is THAT yummy. My only disclaimer is that Mediterranean food has a very distinct flavor and if you simply don't like that flavor, no worries, Couscous probably isn't for you. It's like sushi - if you don't like it, you don't like it, no matter how awesome the place is. But I'm telling you what, you can always find one of their flatbreads to go crazy over...over and over again.

I went in for the first time last week and was greeted by Nick. I told him it was my first time in and he walked me through the menu, helped me pick something out for my husband and was generally a ray of sunshine. As I left, bag in hand he called out to me, he got one thing in my order wrong and wanted to correct it. So I left with extra food. Seriously, any place that admits a mistake and fixes it right away is a step ahead. So we had lots of food when I got home and we ate ourselves into a food coma. SOOOOOOO delicious. This is my new go to place on the way home from work. Go, eat, and enjoy!

Couscous Grill is as good as it gets. I am a health nut, my meals need to be very specific to fit my nutritional needs. Nick (the owner) took the time to find out what I was able to eat and help recommend meals to me. He has an amazing selection of foods as well so there is something for everyone. I have had the burritos, pastas, pizzas, soups etc. Everything is amazing and fresh! Fast service, great prices, fresh food. Flat out the best restaurant in Utah in this price range. (about $10 a plate)

Everything we got was a 10 out of 10. It was one of those 1 in a hundred perfect first time lunches...we will be back many times even though its 35 minutes away. The shawarma was so good my daughter ate half of mine, wife had grilled veggie sandwich that was amazing and the garbanzo chips and hummis was perfect. The staff were friendly, fast, polite just outstanding. Cant wait to try the rest of the menu.

  • Barbara M.

Meh. Maybe we have eaten at Mazza too many times, but my husband and I were underwhelmed. Shwarma plate was basically a gyro. Mediterranean burrito was tiny with few chips. The sauces were good. But what is with all the cilantro?? I do not understand the 4 1/2 stars on this place.

  • Soko T.

My favorites are shawarma salad and wrap. Kinda pricy for a salad though, about 10$ .

So the place is new but seems familiar. This has everything to do with the fact that the interior is definitely still the old Bajio grill interior. But if you didn't like Bajio don't let that stop you from checking out this new little gem! The owner gave me a sample of their Curried Cream of Mushroom soup with their house made Garbanzo chips and it was great. Heck, I would return for the soup and chips alone! Along with the soup there was a a sample of the flat bread with Olive oil and in-house grown rosemary which was very good. How do you know that the rosemary is grown in house? The plant is sitting on top of the flat bread display. I had the special of the day: Surf and Turf with couscous. It was very good, the meat was cooked to medium rare as I wanted and the shrimp was well cooked. So I am relaxing with a happy tummy and writing this review. Oh and the price (less then $10 for the meal) wasn't bad either! So I will be back to try other items on the menu. I realize that five stars is a bit much on the first review but if they keep it the way I had it, I would keep the score the same.

Shwarma is not just for Iron Man anymore. I didn't want to give this place 5 stars but the excelled at EVERYTHING. I couldn't find anything they did wrong or that wasn't fantastic. We showed up and the young lad Alex (don't quote me on that he was a nice guy and I hope I am getting his name right) instantly greeted us. We stood at the menu board for a minute and the owner came out and made sure we understood everyone of the choices and handed us a menu to look at. We ordered at the counter and because we had a check in at Yelp we recieved a 15% off coupon for our meal. We went back up to the counter a couple of times for things and every time we did they were quick to respond and always accommodating. The food was "Oh my god I am so full I am going to die" good. We got the shwarma and the cheese pasties. First off let me say I would smack Thor in his face and kick Captain America in the junk to get another plate of this. The warm pita is like a mother's kiss, if your mother was Pillsbury Dough Girl. The cheese pasties are out of this world. Normally I don't like anything without meat in it or on it but these were savory goodness giving my taste buds a goodnight kiss after the first date. With this in mind I can't wait to see what the food does after the third date. This place just became my food mistress and I may just sneak out to meet up with her during the week.

Wow, you have to try this place. My wife wanted to go to Chili's and I convinced her and her family to try a new highly rated restaurant that I had seen on yelp. Couscous saved the day for me because my wife and family really Enjoyed it.Now I get to pick the next restaurant as well ! We started with Bruschetta and the hummus and chips. It was superb especially the mango salsa which was spectacular. We ordered the Shwarma salad and the four seasons flat bread pizza. We loved the very fresh and unique flavors of each dish. This place is a hidden gem. We will be back !

Fantastic! Delicious and healthy too. Very happy to customize/substitute. Great for vegetarians (re-fried garbanzo beans, lentils, garbanzo chips, cheese). Generous portions. Very nice decor and ambiance. We liked the order/pay at the counter style because it was fast. But very good service and real cutlery and plates. It had the convenience of fast food, but it was actually good quality food, great service, and a nice dining experience. Also, looks like they do a lunch buffet, which would be fantastic. I would love to be able to try more than one of their amazing-sounding entrees! Great for celiacs and vegans too.

The food is unique and delicious. It was a new experience for me, as I'm sure it is for many. The owner came to our table to greet us and ask us about our experience. I will definitely come again.

CousCous is my new favorite. I have been there few times after found its good reputation. The food quality is very good and the prices are reasonable. I had their Gourmet Style Pitas with steak, Four Seasons and Protein Lovers flat bread and Hummus, Mango Salsa & Garbanzo Chips. I actually love them all and I cannot wait to try more things there. My favorite are their gourmet style pitas and for seasons flat bread so far. The meat in the pitas are always juicy and flavorful. I went there about 5 or 6pm at night on the weekend and it didn't have many people there. I definitely will go back and try more food.

Murray has a new treasure. When I drove by CousCous the first time, I nearly squealed with joy that there was a Mediterranean place so close to my house. After having a horrible day at work that involved me losing a toe nail, leaving work feeling degraded, and missing my train home, I decided to drown my sorrows in Schwarma. And boy howdy, if it didn't cheer me right up. Another reviewer commented that this place is really hard to find. No, it isn't. At all. But maybe the signage and neon paint on the windows that says 'CousCous Grill' was added after the previous reviewer visited here. Anyway. Nick the owner let me sample the Cream of Spinach soup prior to me ordering. It was amazing. I ordered the Schwarma plate, with the soup on the side. The food was served up quickly and was piping hot. The Schwarma was moist , tender and extremely flavorful, and was served up with toasted pita, cucumber-yogurt sauce, tomatoes and onion. Everything on the menu looked so good that I'm anxious to go back. Plus, the owners are super friendly and concerned that you enjoy your meal. Can't wait to go back.

This place should be called "Bang for your Buck". It is such a great deal, and dang good. We live down the street now, and were worried when we went in and it was really quiet. Just us and a small child (presumably an owners child. Or maybe he was abandoned there. We really weren't sure, but he was cute) The very helpful counter gal recommended the schwarma and the "Mediterranean Burrito". Having never tried schwarma before, I was a bit nervous, but figured for the price, I could easily get something else if it was terrible. It was delicious. Tender meat in a pita with a garlic tahini sauce. Could not be more thrilled. My husband's burrito was pretty great too! Glad to see that this place has gotten steadily busier because it is a great find in the middle of a quiet shopping center!

First off, the place smelled fantastic! Got to sample the Shwarma Nachos (Good, but I didn't like the Mango Salsa), the Shwarma Plate (Very Tasty) and a noodle dish with Salmon (Good - the fish was overcooked and dry). But still overall a great meal.

Just tried this new restaurant, Couscous, across from the Sportsmall on 900 East and had to post about it. First, the initial impression was great. You can tell its an old Bajio, but theyve done a good job on the menu and signage to make it their own. The owner was extremely nice and helpful and the restaurant was clean and inviting and the menu was extensive and so inexpensive. I had the seafood wrap and my wife had the Schwarma platter and both were amazing! The lamb meat on the Schwarma is seasoned better than any gyro I've had. Everything is so fresh. And the dishes come with great sides: their garbonzo chips are crispier and lighter than pita chips and very flavorful and it comes with hummus and chutney that was deserving of the chips. They've got a great kids menu as well, which comes with fruit, chips, and drink. The quality of the food deserves to be more of a restaurant with somebody waiting on you, with higher prices rather than casual and take-out, but I'm glad it's inexpensive and it's now up their with Cafe Rio as the best take-out alternatives in the area.

The lamb soup is awesome, and so is the Cajun mushroom soup. And the shwarma plate is to die for! Easy on the wallet too. Once you have their food, you will definitely be back for more.

Loved this local dining in Murray. I had the vegetarian plate which was terrific, and my wife had the lamb, which was very good as well. I love eating healthy here.

The ambience of the restaurant is great. Very different feel from your typical run to Zupas. The food was pretty good. The pizza had a taste that reminded me of my childhood. My grandma's dish was delicious and was healthy. She would come back again. However, my grandpa had a sandwich and thought it was okay. He loved the chips, but would not order the sandwich again.

So delicious. It's not quite authentic, at least that's what my friend who visits Israel frequently said, but still really good. She loved it as well. I've been here twice, and both times was blown away. I'll be back.

Housed in a former Bajio Grill location, CousCous has maintained the colorful interior of its former occupant. At CousCous you order and pay at the counter and staff will bring your food out to you when it's ready. The Mediterranean Burrito is a favorite of mine at CousCous. I mean, who doesn't love a burrito, right? Well, CousCous's version takes delicious Mediterranean flavors and wraps them up in a tortilla! Inside you'll find refried garbanzo beans, avocado, couscous, red onion, and tasty sauces. To this you can chose to add chicken, steak, shrimp or ground lamb. I ordered the lamb and would do so again. Accompanying the burrito are garbanzo chips which are served warm and salty with a side of mango salsa. It's a little out of the ordinary but worth trying!

Food that's fast and done right. This is not the place for candle-lit ambiance. This is not the place to see and be seen. This place does the one basic thing that most eateries forget to do right. They cook fresh and healthy food that is cooked to order and ready for you without a long wait. You can go to a sit-down chain eatery and be served reheated prepackaged and preprepared foods at a premium, but I ask why would you do that to yourself when a place like this exists. After experiencing CousCous Grill upon a recommendation from a man I very much respect, I needed to know more about how CousCous came about. A quick chat with the cook taught me that the cook, was really a chef. His battle with a life-altering health issue led him to a major life change and in the process wanted to share with others the benefits of healthy eating. CousCous showed me that healthy eating did not have to be lackluster and boring. Each and every dish was prepared to order and it was served, fast, hot, and at a price that still makes me wonder how they can stay in business. Many restaurants in Salt Lake are sub-par. Most have a bank of microwaves that are used to reheat prepackeged foods that have been cooked in vats in some warehouse-like food production facility. Not here. Ingredients are all locally purchased and cooked to order. If you care to see your meal being cooked, then just look over the counter and watch. The chef and owner is named Nick and he'll be more than happy to talk with you about what is trying to accomplish with his place. Although I don't eat out often as my home kitchen puts out entrees that rival the best places in NYC, I will always stop here and enjoy a great healthy meal that is fast, cooked right, and at a price that will keep you coming back time after time. CousCous Grill is a real gem! TRY IT NOW!!!

LOVE this place incredible food and FANTASTIC service. This is a family run business they clearly take pride in the food they prepare and the patrons who frequent the restaurant. Highly recommend for a healthy meal with great flavor.

This place is super tasty and the prices are great. The decor is nice and there's plenty of seating. We usually order the schwarma plate with a veggie soup and a noodle dish. So far, we've loved everything! Besides for being delicious, the prices are really affordable too. A meal for two costs us about $15 and that's with leftovers! The owner's are very friendly too :)

Love this place! Every item is delicious.... Try the Salmon Mediterranean Nachos or the Carbonara..... Nick, the owner, is down-to-earth, great chef and host. Always a big smile :) The lamb chili is fantastic!

Welp, yelp, this is a great place. We decided to try it out on "new restaurant night" due to the good reviews and I have to say our entire party was impressed. The ambience was warm and cozy and there was adequate, comfortable seating. I'm also a big fan of their ordering system. You order, pay, and they give you a number and bring out your food when it's ready. All of our food was delivered as it was ready and it was piping hot. Speaking of the food- it was absolutely delicious. Every person at our table tried something different, and everyone's dishes looked so good we ended up all trying each others. Sure it's cold and flu season, but it had to be done. I had the CousCous Speciality Pizza, and it was super cheesy and super flavorful- two of my favorite things in food I eat. De.light.ful. My husband had the Mediterranean Nachos at the Chef's suggestion, and I'm in love with those garbanzo bean chips. The mango salsa was perfect and they were definitely the best nachos I've had, and I would consider myself some sort of nacho aficionado. My son's kids meal was also great- plain ol' mac and cheese, which is exactly what he wanted with a side of a fruit cup and a chocolate milk to drink. The food was fresh, original, and they had plenty o' vegetarian options. Next time it's going to be difficult to decide to order the great stuff we've already tried, or any of the other enticing dishes. Luckily everything was very affordable- our family of three ate out for $20- so we will make this a regular stop.

Stopped here with my family after a long trip in Yellowstone & heading back to LA. After eating burgers and junk for a week, it was so nice to eat something health and refreshing . The grilled chicken salad with mango chutney was excellent! Best meal all week hands down. Wish they had this place closer to LA and I would be a regular !

What I love most about this place is that it has a very passionate owner- it's something you can tell in the design, in the food, and in the fact that he is present and spending a lot of energy making sure everything is right and you are helped. I don't think it's necessary to nit pick whether this is properly Mediterranean or what have you ...the fact is that it's delicious, healthy and unique. Stuff you don't find at a buffet, at a cheap restaurant, at fast food joints, at a Greek stand etc. The combination is it's own...delightful, refreshing and unique and well priced. I would definitely come again. I had the shrimp scampi and shwarma plate, both delicious but the real kicker was the lemon kale soup! It almost had a thai flavor to it and was amazing. Felt like I was having the best homemade/exotic/hearty soup..what a strange cool mix! I always hope places like this stay in business because there is so much heart and creativity in it, compared to most joints out there.

I'm proud of Couscous! Which is kinda weird to say, cause who am I to be proud of an entire eating establishment?? But, after my 3rd visit to Couscous, I could not stop thinking, "I'm so proud of them!" They are just a small little place, in a down-on-it's-luck strip mall, offering top quality food at an incredible value. That is something to be proud of, and after 3 visits--where I have not been disappointed once, and I have not seen them compromise on the quality and excellence of their food-- I'm just so impressed! So, I have tried on my 3 visits (actually, I just remembered by friend brought over to-go salmon bisque to my house from Couscous and it was fabulous!!!!) the Mediterranean burrito (lamb, couscous, red onion, yogurt and cukes), and the Shwarma plate (super yum), and the salad and soup combo for lunch (lamb chili and btw, I'm still thinking about it! Uh-mazing.) I have tried the chips and salsa and all were fresh, well seasoned, and hit the veritable spot. So, Yeah! I'm proud of a place like Couscous that takes so much pride in doing what they do! It's like they are defying gravity and I want them to keep soaring...sorry..a little cheesy...but totally true:)

One of those places that makes you glad you checked Yelp. We're visiting from out of town and looking for dinner in the Murray area. This was one of the most highly rated restaurants in the area, so we decided to try it. It lived up to its promise. The food was excellent -- very fresh. I had the lamb shawarma. The hummus was one of the best I've had. Our group also ordered the shrimp lemon scampi, which was also excellent. Owner was super cool -- said he was very glad to have newcombers because they aim to please. We would definitely go back. Glad we went.

We eat here all the times and always order the Shawarma platter. It comes with lots of meat (beef and lamb), a yummy yogurt sauce and you choice of either salad or soup. Our favorite soup is the roasted tomato. Do not care for the pizza though because the sauce is a bit on the sweet side. This is the perfect destination for lunch: service is fast and the food very tasty.

The best dinner I've had in a long time. There were 6 of us in our party, we all ordered something different, and they were all delicious. I had the lamb burger and it was amazing!! I only wish there was a couscous grill in Vegas, because the prices and the food can't be beat!

I ordered the Shwarma plate and got to wondering...what exactly is the difference between Shwarma and Gyro??? So I Googled it. One source said there's pretty much no difference. Another source said Shwarma's the meat, Gyro's the sandwich. Another source said Gyro's Greek, and Shwarma's Arabic. Mmmmkay. Thanks Google. But really, who cares? That was a plate full of awesome, whatever its name. The meat was oh so tender and perfectly seasoned and the tzatziki was yumm-o. It came with a creamy vegetable soup too. I also got the Garbanzo chips and hummus, which was delicious, and a huge hit with my kids--*please save some for me* It came with Mango salsa too, which I completely skipped--too sweet for me. The Shwarma, soup, and Garbanzo chips and hummus were all I ordered, and it fed me and my 2 kids--all for $11! Are you kidding me?!? Oh, and the place was super clean too. And free wifi. That bumps us up to a 5 star rating! I will mos def be back.

I've been going here for quite a while now. The food is excellent. Nick, the owner, is incredibly friendly...knows everyone in my family by name. He is genuinely committed to your satisfaction and to his craft. The food is an excellent value; you get full service quality at fast-casual prices. The flavors are divine and the dishes are interesting without being overly exotic. The portions are also generous. My favorite dish is the potato dumplings with chicken and focaccia bread! AMAZING!

I love finding new, local restaurants close to home! We've only been here twice, but definitely plan on becoming regulars at this place. They have a very eclectic menu (Mediterranean burrito anyone?) and everything is well-priced. The first time we went, I had the Gnocchi pasta and a salad; my husband had the Med burrito which is exactly what it sounds like (couscous and dill sauce instead of rice and pico de gallo). The pasta was delicious: Not too heavy, just the right portion size, and came with yummy rosemary garlic bread. My husband enjoyed his burrito but said that my pasta was better. On our second round he got the Chicken Florentine Bake and I had the Shawarma plate. Again, delicious. My husband accidentally left his to-go box on the table when we left and was SO mad because he wanted to have the leftovers the next day (It was THAT good). The place is clean, the staff is friendly, and the food is always hot and made from scratch. The owner even makes a point to visit tables and see how people are doing and how the food tastes. I love that about small restaurants. They cater AND have a coupon section on the website. If you have not been, you should definitely check it out!

Strip malls win again. My 11 year old beat me to this place. When I asked her if she wanted to go here for dinner, she was enthusiastic in her YES response. She had already eaten here and loved it. Mediterranean Nachos. What? Delicious. Chips made with chickpea flour, dusted with some kind of spice mixture, topped with cheese, hummus, mango salsa, and sour cream. I wish the chunks of mango had been smaller, so that the amount could have covered more surface area so that I could have had its deliciousness in more bites. They also offer Chips with hummus and mango Salsa, which is probably what I will order next time, only because the portion of nachos was too large to finish, and I'm trying to avoid fat grams that are involved in the melted yum that is the cheese. Daughter had one of the flat bread pizzas, It was pretty much garlicy white sauce, feta, and tomatoes. Yum. She brought half of it home and I ate it later. You know, just to be helpful. The highlight for me was actually the soup that they brought out to us before the meal came. I have no idea what it was, only that it had potatoes in it and it was so delicious. I could definitely see myself hitting that soup pretty hard when winter comes back!

My wife got a recommendation from a co-worker to check this place out. I must say I was hesitant to drive out to 5400 S but boy was it worth it. Upon arrival to the restaurant (located in a strip mall parking lot) the owner greeted us with a warm hello. This was followed by giving us general samples of the homemade chickpea chips with hummus and mango salsa as well as a sample of the shwarma meat. All three were delectable. We both decided to order the shwarma plate (%6.75), which was an incredibly generous serving of shwarma and amazing side salad and some wonderful pita with tzatziki sauce. We also splilt the CousCous special flatbrad (basically a pizza with tomato cheese and olive oil and garlic). Everything was fabulous, the meat was tender and did not have the typically gyro meat texture found in most restaurants. It is nicely spiced and pleasant to eat. The salad was one of the most comprehensive side salads I have had, topped with a lemon basil dressing-YUM. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. It seems like a great family run establishment and a wonderful place to support. We will definitely be heading back out that way soon.

I have been to this restaurant over a dozen times and have yet to be disappointed. The food is always incredible and at this price it just can't be beat. Some of my favorites are the Schwarma plate, the steak gourmet style pita, the potato dumplings with chicken, and ANY soup of the day. (His soups alone are worth the trip in) But, honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. They also have some really great gluten-free options as well. The owner, Nick, is the best. He is always walking around to make sure that everyone is happy with their food and experience. He and is friendly staff are always quick to correct any issues you may have. Once you meet Nick and try his food, you can't help but want him to be successful. Cous Cous is hands down one of my absolute favorite places to eat in the Salt Lake area. Try it! You won't be disappointed.

Yo Yelpiverse! Thanks for the heads up... again! This is yet another place that I may have never noticed without my fellow Yelpers. We tried it out today and this place is NEW! There is still a realtor's key box hanging from the door and some of the signage is the temporary variety. The service was a bit slow and confused as it was a "rookie" on the regisiter (this is how refered to himself). But the chef/owner as well as the other two guys working there were super friendly, appreciative and eager to please. They're working out some of the (minor) kinks, service-wise, but the food was spot-on! I had the shawarma plate with soup as my side dish. The dill yogurt sauce was perfectly delectable, perhaps the best I've had. The meat and pita were very tasty. Not the best ever, but very good. The soup of the day was a creamy vegetable curry and it was delicous. We dipped Lisa's chickpea chips in it and it was a beautiful thing. Lisa got the turkey and swiss on ciabatta bread and loved it! The bread was perfect. I ordered a side of cous cous (I thought it would be an insult to not at least try the namesake dish), but the "rookie" didn't ring it up or deliver it to our table. Next time! Overall, I'd probably give this place 3 stars, but when I consider the low low prices, it gains them an extra star. My meal was gigantic and only cost $7.50! It's a real bargain.

Yum. So the food is just fabulous. This stuff is boldly seasoned. The shwarma plate was deliciously garlicky, and the sauce was tangy and cool and wonderful. We tried the couscous specialty pizza. (or "flat"). Amazingly fresh dough, and strong feta and basil flavors made it a treat. The dough was soft with the tiniest crisp to it, clearly baked with a touch of olive oil brushed on, giving it a delightful texture. Staff was friendly. It's a bit hard to find (they need a sign!) but worth the trip. Easily my favorite Mediterranean food in the salt lake area.

The Bruschetta, the Lemon Scampi and the Mediterranean are amazing! They even make their own Rosemary bread. I love this restaurant - it is delicious!

Very good! My wife got the gourmet pita platter which was absolutely amazing. I had the chicken florentine bake which was also very good. Definitely give it a try!

Um. If you have not been here yet- I urge you to go- NOW! The staff is very friendly. The food is really good. Semi-healthy. And really cheap. I got the shwarma plate with a salad (with some sort of basil viniagrette), and it was really, really good. I ended up taking a to-go plate home for my fiance, and he loved it as well.

my coworker told me to go try this restaurant because of his pleasant experience. I must say couscous went well above my expectations. First of all the price is extremely good especially considering the size of proportions and how fresh and tasteful they are. In the past two weeks for lunch i've tried the gourmet chicken pita, the mediterranean burrito, the island chicken sandwich and the potato dumplings. They were all superb. The owner Nick is really personable too and comes out and talks to his customers. I highly recommend this place.

Oh My Goodness ... talk about flavor and quality ingredients. I'm in love with their chicken and shrimp pita wrap ... bursting with flavor. The service is phenomenal and they really make you feel like they're so glad you dropped by. Relaxing environment. Definitely a place you'll go back to visit soon. Enjoy.

Incredible value for the price! The restaurant was clean and quiet when we went at 8:00 in the evening. My group ordered a pita, a flat, a shawarma plate, and the shawarma nachos - and each dish was excellent.

This is a great place to eat, especially considering the value. My partner in crime got the schwarma plate with a side salad (the basil lemon dressing is *amazing*), and I had the grilles vegetable sandwich. We also ordered the Mediterranean Nachos and a CousCous Special flat. The only thing I don't recommend was the chocolate cherry cupcake. You'll be too stuffed to eat dessert anyway!

    (5)
  • Ryan M.

The few things I have tried off the menu have all been very good. The price is fair, and the service has been great. Can't ask for much more. Edit: On eating at Couscous a few more times it really continues to shine.I really have to raise this place up to 5 stars. The Mediterranean Nachos are great, the pasta and pizzas are great. The buffet is interesting and changes daily. The service is stellar and the food is consistent every time I go.

When you pull up, the outside is not impressive. Looks like they might be renovating or just moved in...but hold on to your taste buds. It was sooo tasty. I had the Mediterranean Burrito with Chicken. They served it with some of their chips and a mango salsa. I put the salsa on the burrito and it was honestly so good I had to write a review. I will definitely go back to try more items on the menu. (By the way, it was my birthday so they gave me a free piece of cake...it was pretty dry, but it was free so no complaints here.)

I don't think it's possibly for me to say enough good things about Cous Cous. I went here right after they opened with some good friends that live nearby and was blown away. The food is amazing, so amazing! The combinations that Chef Nick puts together are so good. Everything is fresh, and full of flavor. He works hard to make sure the ingredients are top notch, healthy and delicious. The service is so great, Nick often walks around and greets people as they eat, just to make sure it's up to par. He clearly takes so much pride in his food. The prices are unbelievably affordable. I'd happily pay much more for what we get here. I could eat here every night.

This place is awesome! The food is so good, the flats are very tasty and the couscous is yummy. Don't forget the garbanzo bean chips, hummus, and mango salsa-ooh, my mouth waters to think of it!! Definitely going back soon.

My favorite restaurant! I come here once a week because it is affordable, punch-you-in-the-face tasty, and has a great atmosphere. The owner is nice, and everything on the menu is amazing. My favorite dish is the gourmet pita with shrimp, but get some of the garbanzo chips too....they have curry powder on them! I could go on forever....drool...

  • David And Tina C.

After seeing the reviews here on Yelp, we decided to try it for ourselves and we were not disappointed! The staff were so friendly, and I loved the garbanzo chips, sooo tasty! the cheese pasties were really flavorful, but the plating left something to be desired. Chicken Marsala was pretty good, and the Mediterranean Naxos were pretty good too! But the atmosphere was great cute, quirky decor, fast, friendly service great food, we are sooo glad we went, and are definitely going back!!!

My wife and I wanted a change of venue and decided to try this place out. The prices for everything was very cheap so we ordered extra thinking it would be small portions. The portions were large. I'm not sure how they can make money with generous portions at that cost. The food was amazing. The couscous was flavored with hints of Mediterranean spices that were not overbearing and tasted fresh. The food was on par with a much more expensive restaurant only with a casual, relaxed setting (with wifi). The Chef came out to talk to us and seemed genuinely excited about his food and what we thought of it. I can't wait to try even more of the menu next time. This is going to be a more frequent hang-out for me.

Yumm! I went two days ago for the first time and I'm going back today. It's nice to find non-franchise food. I could swim in the yogurt sauce. The lamb was really good. Even the side salad was good. The rosemary bread stuff was gross and dry. I didn't order it but they just brought it out. They shouldn't have. Had the schwarma and I'm having it again. We went at lunchtime and they were pretty quick. The whole setup reminds me of noodles and co but with different food.

  • Stevie C.

My friend suggested this place to me a few months ago but I never went because...as it appears...I am nuts! I stopped by there today and grabbed their potato dumplings, a.k.a. gnocchi, and chicken to go. Even though they forgot their all famous rosemary garlic bread, I still enjoyed it. I love gnocchi and I loved theirs! I will be venturing back there soon!

Went here for the first time with a group of friends and loved it! I ordered the Mediterranean burrito with chicken and it was delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly and juicy. Everything else in the burrito was equally delicious-loved the couscous and avocado. Portions are huge- I was only able to finish half of it but the leftovers were even better. The garbanzo chips and mango salsa were a good addition to the meal and really unique. Service was also really friendly, can't wait to go back and try their shwarma.

MIDVALE, UT: Just came to a business lunch here at Couscous and it was delicious, healthy, flavorful and reasonably priced. Tried the Shawarma Plate (like a deconstructed gyro) and it was terrific. I loved the garbanzo chips with hummus and salsa as well; wonderful. The mushroom and salmon bisque didn't taste like salmon, more of a muted, mushroom-infused lobster bisque flavor. I look forward to returning!

I was torn between 3 or 4 stars. With that said, I had dinner at CousCous on Friday night.. Despite having the address the place was a bit hard for me to find. Found myself sitting outside Roma (one of my favorite Italian restaurants) pondering the gap in addresses where CousCous should have been. Turns out it's in a different building closer to 900 East with absolutely no signage that I could see. It was interesting to watch people walk in the front door and have the same confused look on their faces that I did. It's not at all obvious that one needs to hang a hard left, walk behind a long wing wall, and stare at the menu posted on the wall. The size and space of the menu viewing area made me feel like I sitting in the front row of the movie theater....stiff neck and all. The kid taking my order was pretty spacy; he didn't get everything I ordered (missed the hummus) and didn't bother to ask about drinks. One of the owners or managers, a Mediterranean looking guy, was friendly and helpful about explaining the items and making recommendations. I ended up with the lamb shwarma plate, which turned out to be a pile of gyro meat next to some cut up pita bread and some yogurt sauce. While that is probably very traditional, I found myself reminiscing about Ali's lamb shwarma at Mazza and wishing I had one of those in my hands instead. Other items coming out of the kitchen looked great....good enough to pique my interest in a return visit. I couldn't help but think that this place could really be something special if they offered table service (instead of ordering at one end the counter and picking dinner up at the other end) and a bit of interaction with a competent server who could explain all the goodies available. With a few adjustments it could easily be as successful as Mazza and Cafe Med. CousCous also needs more signage so folks can actually find it. The place was very clean (and new). I didn't see any questionable actions by any of the staff. (I watch for staff who don't wash hands between handling money or bussing tables and serving food, and for things like staff wiping runny noses with their fingers or coughing into their hands) I thought the value of the shwarma plate was very goot at $6.95, especially so as it included a bowl of tasty homemade soup.

Never disappointed! This was my 4th or 5th visit to Couscous. I indulged in the shrimp scampi with a lemon cream sauce...TO DIE FOR. Beautiful presentation...perfectly seasoned...and warmed the tummy of a very cold girl today!

fantastic value, great food, huge portions. allows you a chance to try many different things. everything was bursting with great flavor. the only that had zero flavor was the actual namesake- the couscous, but it's supposed to be picking up the flavor of everything around it (yeah?). the texture is nice and it is a perfect partner to all the other great flavors. the people are great and it's another place that deserves some attention. go check it out! hope it don't go changin'!

My co-workers and I heard Cous Cous was worth a quick trip for lunch. After eating there this afternoon I would say it is worth much more than that. Food: Excellent, high quality food. I had the Lamb Shawarma plate, which for 6.99 also comes with soup or salad. It is an INCREDIBLE value. My plate was piled high with shawarma meat, (tender, and very flavorful) two slabs of fresh pita bread, (soft and delicious) a cup of tzatziki sauce (tart and creamy) and a small mound of fresh cucumbers, tomatoes and onions topped with tangy greek cheese. It was a ton of food and all of it was delicious. They are so generous with the meat that unless you make yourself some serious double-quarter pounder wraps you'll run out of pita. The plate came with a soup or salad choice and you serve yourself at small bar. I tried both soups (both tasty, especially the tomato!) but a unique pesto/olive oil vinaigrette dressing won me over and I chose the salad. The greens were crisp but the salad garnered my only complaint of the meal - the olives! The olives in the salad appeared to be the standard black olives from a can, and tasted the same. In a Mediterranean joint like this that seems nigh unto blasphemy. I very minor complaint in an otherwise GREAT meal. Service: Great service. The face of the restaurant is a long-haired Mediterranean guy who walks around to make sure everything is just to your liking. It was our first visit and we were confused about the whole soup/salad bar and were asking how much we should take, etc... And he answered, "Just make yourselves comfortable. Enjoy" What a great attitude, and one not seen often enough in an all to often nickel and dime restaurant scene. Cous Cous is a great lunch/dinner scene. The quality of the food, the generous portions, and the very fair price make a visit to Cous Cous a no-brainer - this place is definitely worth it.

Great food, isn't that why you go out to eat? We were very impressed with the food quality, but there is so much more. Everything appeared to be fresh made...we had shrimp scampi (I don't believe the pasta was fresh, but everything else was from what we can tell...well, minus the shrimp too since we are in the middle of a desert), soup, flat bread pizza, and a salads. All were very savory and well prepared. We also had the garbanzo chips which came with humus and a great mango sauce as well. I can honestly say that everything we ordered tasted great. The soup was surprisingly great, everything else was really good. So, in summary...fantastic food, fast enough service, good location, free wifi, super clean place. This place is a strip mall win for sure, and will likely become a regular place for us.

Had the shrimp wrap last night. VERY tasty. Not sure if I like the chicken pita or shrimp wrap more? Didn't love the flat bread pizza. But to be fair it traveled home before I had a taste. probably better eaten in the restaurant. We all need to remember this is basically fast food. So for fast foot this place goes beyond expectations.

This is a fabulous new Mediterranean joint! I had the shwarma plate with a side salad, the house dressing is a must try! The shwarma was seasoned to perfection. We also got the chicken and dumplings which was also really delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and it was apparent that others did as well because everyone that finished eating told the chef how good the food was and that they would be sure to come back. The food is really fresh and light and extremely affordable. We did have a bit of a hard time finding the place. You can clearly see it if you drive down 9th east, but if you go through the back parking lot there are no signs on that side of the restaurant.

Just the place I have been looking for. The owner was the nicest guy I've ever met. My whole family has ended up loving this place I get the BBQ chicken flatbread and the owner actually doctored it up with some Schwarma I died I know crave it. My parents love the soup and salad. Had the lamb soup and the salmon for $3 it had probably $7 worth of meat in the bowl. Can't beat that. My girlfriend gets the hawaii chicken sand which and now after I'm done with my good size flat I eat half of her meal. The quality of food and friendliness can't be beat. I will be following these guys wherever they go. Cous cous for life. Thank you.

Very weak on flavor. Not impressed. The shwarma was probably the least enjoyable I've ever had. It wasn't bad, just very, very bland and boring. I'd recommend just going to the Greek Souvlaki for any gyro/shwarma type dishes.

Redemption! After my food poisoned review, the owner contacted me and gave me a free meal. I told the owner that it will take me a while to go back. Couple months later, they were closed due to health violations. One day, I saw a yelper posted a picture of the their grilled pesto chicken with zucchini noodles. it looks TOO DAMN GOOD!!!! Since after all the health inspection, I am sure they are more careful now. So I returned and I didn't use the free meal coupon. I ordered a grilled pesto chicken with zucchini noodles for to go. I got poke fun by the workers because I showed up 40 minutes later. Hehe... No kidding, the grilled pesto chicken with zucchini noodles really hit the spot! It was flavorful and creamy but light at the same time. I will be back for more.

It's a shame I live relatively far from here...otherwise I'd be here every week. Last time, got Potato Dumplings with Grilled Chicken. This time, got the Shwarma wrap with mango salsa on the side. Service was fast. Food was delicious. Not much to say except I've never had a bad meal or experience here and that Couscous has the best value of any Mediterranean restaurant I've been to in Utah.

Been my go to for years. Apparently I've been coming here since they opened and have tried nearly everything on the menu. Every person I've introduced to couscous has loved it. Friends nor I have ever been disappointed. I even thought one day let's try something that can't be that good, the nachos, but they were superb haha and i'm serious. Chef Nick is the nicest chillest guy I know. All the food is super fresh, and you can tell they care and have a really good thing going.

What a cool place. Awesome taste. Different plates...! So many combinations and creations, all tasty and creative. It's not a gem of authenticity, but it definitely is its own "fusion gem". Its a quick service deal, you order, pay, get a number and wait. Then you are on your own. Their nachos are great, their soups are great, and I definitely wanna come back to try some of their other mixed dishes. Cool spot for sure.

This place is good. They have done an excellent job on the food and they have good gluten free options. We were in a group of 20 or so and everyone loved the food. I only went to it because of the yelp reviews and yelp has this one right. I had the chicken special pitta and it was fantastic. Keep up the good work CousCous

I am always satisfied and happy when we come here, which is often! Just last night I had the Shrimp and Artichoke pasta with a white sauce and a side of feta cause I like it salty! Omg! If I could give 6-stars I would. Customer Service, Quality, and Cleanliness: they nailed all three. This is a family run place with amazing food. Normally the only thing with flavor at a Mediterranean restaurant is the meat or bread but EVERYTHING here had a ton of flavor. The desserts are made in-house and from scratch and it shows in the perfect balance of flavors because it's not too 'anything'; it's all just right. This is now going to be the new lunch spot for meetings.

When I ordered the steak gyro they corrected me and said it was a steak pita! It was made fast and tasted juicy! The couscous was a perfect side dish to go with every bite of the pita. I didn't know that it came with mushrooms so if you don't like mushroom remember to tell them! I also tried my friends zucchini noodles with chicken pesto and that was way better than I expected and tasted just like pasta a very healthy dish that tastes just like pasta!

CousCous is in my top 5 favorite restaurants! I only ever order the shwarma plate and you should do the same, it is simply amazing! This is a casual but nice place, the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is great. Only thing that I could complain about is that the meat portion has gotten significantly smaller than it used to be, which means no left overs...and I love me some cous cous left overs!

YUMMO!! Hubby had the shwarma wrap....succulent!! I had the BBQ chicken grilled flat bread... the BEST EVER!!! Seriously I too some home where son devoured the rest, saying exact same thing. This place has been great every time we have been here to eat. Some great choices for non wheat eaters too. The zucchini noodles are actually strips of zucchini lightly sautéed. These can be substituted in any of their pasta dishes. Lots of Mediterranean favs here as well, just done really nicely with very friendly service. Prices are a bargain for the quality food you get here.

So impressed with this place. We had the Schwarma A la cart and potato dumpling with grilled chicken. Both were fantastic. Also, the service at this place is amazing. It is not table service, but may as well be because the staff is more attentive than some sit down places.

I got the Mediterranean burrito worth ground lamb. I was skeptical but very impressed. The chips and mango salsa were great. I'll definitely be back. My wife ate the chicken gourmet pita...She's a picky eater but loved it to the last bite. As for the couscous...I'll pass.

It was ok The swarma plate was ok. They were out of Tahini sauce. The couscous was bland. We ordered a swarma sandwich and got something else that I didn't love. Why put avocado on a shrimp wrap? The chips and Hummus were not bad. Overall not sure I'd go back.

It was fine. I had the beef wrap with couscous and my wife had the veggie couscous with chicken added in. Hers was glazed with teriyaki sauce. It was fine, nothing to write home about. I guess I expected more "down home" flavors and I felt like it was a little too Americanized for my tastes. I'll likely try something else next time, something a little more adventurous. Friendly staff.

We needed a quick but yummy lunch and at 4.5 stars and 239 reviews Yelp delivered. The spot is totally unsuspecting in a strip mall next to a staffing center. Inside- very clean and open. The man that helped appeared as the owner/manager. Very nice and helpful. Offered up soup samples that were to die for. I had the classic Shawarma wrap, SO GOOD. My wife has the salad of the same variety and my 2 y/o had the hummus and pita. We all left so happy and full. Will be back often when in this area. They also cater and that appears to keep them plenty busy.

I told my husband I wanted to try something new so we ended up here. I had expected more of a restaurant feel. What I got was still nice. You walk in and on the wall is their menu which all sounded good. When you're ready to place your order you just walk up to the register and place it. They do bring the food out to you. The food was great, like really great. I ordered a chicken mushroom Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce I could probably say was the best I've had. Not obnoxiously thick but not watery. The chicken and mushrooms were perfect and over all the whole thing was busting with flavors. My husband got a wrap which I thought was odd for him but when it came out I wanted to steal it. Meat was seasoned great all the veggies were nice and fresh. Over all a really nice wrap and a great dinning experience.

So sad I have eaten at this place for many years, even when it was Bajio and have not reviewed it a single time. Not sure how I first found out about this place, probably some time in 2011 when we saw the signs come up. Love the owner he is so cool and so down to earth and funny. He has a knack for making great tasting soups. Loved the lamb variations the best, also the lemon kale soup, the chicken artichoke, the ginger curry, chicken curry, the vegetarian, cream of spinach, cream of mushroom, roasted tomato and corn bisque. What more can I say about the great soups that accompany any dish there. I have never been disappointed about anything there except that sometimes we can't find a place to sit and have to take it to go. Can't wait to come back and indulge in awesomeness.

Yup, a shawarma wrap, once again. Delicious. But be warned, the garlic levels in the sauce are pretty dang high on this puppy. Learned a new trick this time: poor some of that mango salsa on the wrap and you've got yourself another layuh of flavuh.

Went to Couscous for lunch for the first time today. I ordered the Shwarma wrap that was served with a side of couscous. The wrap was pretty darn fantastic. A generous amount of shawarma meat (I realize the restaurant spells it Shwarma) with tomato, romaine lettuce, avocado, grilled and caramelized onions and a wonderfully garlicky tahini sauce wrapped in a whole grain tortilla. I asked what the shawarma meat was made of here and I was told it was just lamb. However, I think it may have contained other meats mixed in as you would typically expect. Regardless, it was tender, moist and flavorful. The combination with the fresh veggies and the garlic tahini sauce was just right. Good mix of tender and firm textures. The sauce was pretty garlicky and it really took front stage. Mind you, I love garlic so I didn't mind, but if you are sensitive to having too much garlic, you may want to ask for a lighter portion of the sauce. The couscous on the side was also very good. Not especially intense from a flavor standpoint but that's okay as it was a good interruption of the garlic attack from my wrap. It contained some dried cranberries which added a nice sweet compliment. It was served at a perfect temperature and was moist. I went there with my Mom and she ordered the pesto Salmon sandwich served on grilled ciabatta bread. I didn't try any but she really enjoyed it. I did sneak some of her side of garbanzo chips with mango salsa. The chips tasted like corn chips but that's okay because they were good, fresh and crunchy and were a perfect platform for the sweet mango salsa. The restaurant was pretty full at lunchtime on a Tuesday. You order at the counter, take a number to your table, and your food follows shortly. Service was very good. We had no problem grabbing a table after standing in line to order as it looks like tables turn pretty quickly. The only source of disappointment for me was the fact they don't make falafel. I love falafel (if done right) and I kind of expected it at a Mediterranean restaurant. But hey, this is a nit and the reality is that if you look at the menu, there are many menu items you wouldn't see at a traditional Mediterranean place. I'd say it is somewhat of a Mediterranean fusion style restaurant. In any event, I really liked this place and certainly will be back to try some of the other dishes that caught my eye on the menu.

The food here is always great!! The owner has such an inspiring story of his road back to health with nutrition. My favorite dish is the gormet chicken pita!!! Yummmmm!

I haven't eaten here nearly as often as I'd like, because I enjoy it every time. There's a nice variety of tasty options, the food always comes out piping hot, and the service is always friendly and helpful. I've been here a few times and sampled a couple of the wraps, the Mediterranean burrito, and a couple other items. I've had them make a side of roasted veggies that isn't on the menu but turned out great! The baklava next to the register stares at me every time I'm here, but I have yet to try it. Next time. I'm definitely a fan. Now if only it were in a little more convenient of a location...

Have had good experiences at Cous Cous in the past. Today I was treated not like a faithful customer buy like a bother. This has never happened here before, but the lady with blond hair at the register was very rude to me and I have no reason why. It's too bad how one person can ruin it for the whole business. Nobody who repeatedly goes to a business and spends money, tells their family, neighbors, friends, etc about the business should be treated like this lady at the register treated me today. It's sad but it happened. However, the food was great as usual!

My husband and I were interested in trying some new cuisine and new (to us restaurants), and we happened upon Couscous because of Yelp. With so many positive reviews, we couldn't help but stay away. I don't usually hold a lot of hope for restaurants in strip mall parking lots, but for this one you should make an exception. The ambiance is casual but a little funky inside. It appears to be run entirely by men, mostly from the hippies in their 20s variety, so the customer service is lacking a little in terms of friendliness, but frankly when I go to a restaurant with counter service, I want to be not hungry, and if they bring me food that takes care of that, they've succeeded. The menu is pretty vast, from more traditional Mediterranean fare to salads to pastas to pizzas, so no matter your tastes, you're bound to find something you like. We ordered the garbanzo bean chips with mango salsa and hummus as an appetizer, my husband ordered the Couscous specialty pizza, and I ordered the Chicken pita. The garbanzo bean chips are a MUST. The spices are incredibly flavorful, the mango salsa is probably the best I've ever had, and the hummus (a little curried) is smooth and delicious. My husband liked his pizza, and I had a bite and loved it. GREAT crust, fresh ingredients, and just the right amount of olive oil. My chicken pita (with couscous on the side) was about the size of my face, and so packed with flavor. There was loads of chicken, which had a great grill flavor and was very tender, and veggies (sweet red peppers, mushrooms, and onions). The sauce was REALLY tasty as well, and really complimented the pita without overpowering the other flavors. The couscous on the side was really good as well (something you'd hope from a place named couscous). I'll absolutely return to try their other menu items. The food is fresh, comes out hot, and is so delicious, and the pricing is really reasonable!

Went here for lunch before flying out back to LA. Saw the great reviews on Yelp but thought the place was just okay. Got a chicken gyro and it was alright. Portion was huge but it was just bland. Service was pretty lackluster as well. Don't see what the hype is about.

  • Missy B.

Fair food, but not particularly authentic. I ordered the "Mediterranean burrito," a bastardized hybrid with chicken, couscous, and refried chickpeas rolled up in a tortilla. It was kind of bland and I wouldn't order it again. The Caesar salad was a regular Costco food court-style Caesar salad with absurdly nothing memorable. The steak pita was good, not great. The hummus was flavorless and grainy. The restaurant itself was clean and modern. I'd eat here again if a friend wanted to go, but it's not going into our regular rotation.

Excellent and attentive service in a walk up and order restaurant. Their food is top notch and affordable. All their sauces are excellent, great soups and a handful of good bottle beers and wine by the glass. This is a great break from the norm and it is fast.

Came here because of Yelp's reviews and coupon! We don't live nearby but will definitely return even though it's out of our way. Great food and service! Warm Seafood Wrap is AMAZING! So are the Greek Nachos. Big servings so order accordingly. Check it out!!!

We had a schwarma wrap and whatever a schwarma with pita and bean chips /mango salsa is. Whatever they are, they are good. Quality ingredients, fresh preparation, and non-hackneyed flavors. Room has good natural light but is noisy even when restaurant is nearly empty because of hard surfaces, open kitchen and chatty staff. (It is nice that the staff are outgoing, but it does add to the decibels). Notably uncomfortable chairs.

My definition of a great restaurant includes a few things: The last bite of an entree tastes as good as the first. You can eat there repeatedly and not get tired of it. Legitimately friendly staff. Clean. Check. Check. Check. Check! I could eat here twice a week (and sometimes do) and not get tired of it. I'm a huge fan of, in particular, the gourmet pitas and the flat bread pizzas. The schawarma is insanely good! The desserts are the best. Try the Armenian baklava. Creative fresh food at it's best. What a great restaurant! The staff and owner are awesome. Keep it up!

Went in to grab dinner, my daughter wasn't feeling so well and was hoping for some tomato soup. Their soup of the day was a chicken kale...good luck trying to get an 8 year old to eat that lol. They offered to make a special batch of tomato soup just for us. Not only amazing food but amazing people!!

Tried and true. Love the option of zucchini noodles instead of pasta. Flatbread was meh, would stick with the pasta/zucc dishes. Have ordered take-out several times and always pleased.

Couscous is a type of grain that eats similar to rice. If you're new to the menu I recommend the gourmet pita with schwarma. You'll notice schwarma is not on the menu as an option for the gourmet pita but you can ask for it and they are super happy to accommodate you. The chips come with a mango salsa and while it's not 'to die for' it is a healthier alternative to french fries. I've been there once or twice a month for the last 6 months and have only ordered something other than the schwarma pita once. It was a daily special, the bbq chicken pita, and while it was good, it was not worth straying from my all time favorite dish.

This place always makes my mouth water just thinking about it. I finally tried the shwarma wrap the other day. It did not let me down. Perfect pre workout meal! You can tell this place is authentic and they care about the quality of their food. Staff are super friendly!

This is one of my favorite restaurants. They have good options (including vegetarian options, which is important for me), the prices are very reasonable, friendly and easygoing staff/owner, and good atmosphere. The foot is consistently good and I look forward to this place each time.

I happened in here almost by chance, taking the opportunity to at least check it off my list in my search for the city's best shawarma. I expected more of a sit-down, be-waited-on restaurant and this is definitely not that. Here, you walk through an alley, which has a menu on the wall, similarly to Pizzeria Limone or one of the quai-Mexi burrito joints, pick out what you want, go past a display case with desserts and bottled drinks, one of which is Diet Mt. Dew (they also have a fountain, not sure what's in that) and then order at the end. This does have very interesting and quite awesome decor and atmosphere, so it becomes maybe more like an upscale Greek Souvlaki. In terms of food, this is probably not so far off... No, GS doesn't have cous cous (that I know of), but gyros with lamb and that's what the shwarma is here. My personal preference is chicken or beef or especially both, as I find lamb to be something I can only take in small doses. This was served cut into those shaved slabs that are also found in gyros citywide, though it was prepared well. I would have preferred the lamb to be cripier, but I had no real complaints there, other than my usual disposition to lamb in general, but overall this was probably the best version I've had anywhere. Sauce was ok. The highlight was the pita, which is the equal and maybe the superior to Chicken Express. Cucumber was fresh, tomato was not and the cous cous was the sweet variety. I'd much rather have had a savory version. Wife liked her sandwich well enough, but also disliked the cous cous. Neither of us were especially impressed by the garbanzo chips and hummus, one of which seemed to have a very strong curry taste to it. As mentioned elsewhere, this is aiming squarely at being a fusion type place and covering at least a couple Mediterranean countries, those being Italy and especially Greece. Service was also quite friendly. I'd consider going here again for one of their pizzas that looked intriguing (and hope they used the pita bread for it), but this is not what I would consider a destination restaurant, but one to hit up out of convenience.

I am regular here, all the food is phenomenal! I am not an easy critic either when it comes to food(and neither is my super picky girlfriend). Nick, the owner is really nice and has a very special touch when it comes to food. I really like the the chicken or steak marsala(the sauce is so yummy in my tummy). The shwarma platter is the bomb. I've heard the pizza is really good but I haven't tried it yet. The soups are the best in salt lake. They look a little weird sometimes but just trust that they are yummy or give them a try before ordering, u won't be disappointed. Love the salmon soups but honestly they are all good! Very generous with how much salmon is in there. Everyone I have recommended this place to hasn't been disappointed. For some reason the food does taste a little better when Nick is there looking over things. He takes a lot of pride in the delicious food he makes.

WOW. We were caught starving in the middle of no where so I checked Yelp. WOW! This place!!! It's a meat-eater's OR vegan's paradise! Super fresh, homemade chips, friendly staff, and FAST. Technically, you could call it fast food but it's just TOO GOOD! I would drive out to Murray again for this!

Easily one of my favorite places in every part of Utah. Not only a dedicated gluten free menu, but they will also make most of the other dishes Gf with zucchini noodles or quinoa.

Unfortunately wasn't a fan, I tried the shwarma ala carte, and didn't enjoy it came with a mango salsa and chips, and the salsa was some of the worst salsa I've tried. Just my opinion The reviews here are fantastic so give it a try yourself.

  • Todd B.

The menu overall isn't very Mediterranean. Where are all the veggies and legumes? I got the seafood bake. The salmon was dry and brick-like, more suited as a construction material than for human consumption. I had high expectations after going to a couple of other fantastic Mediterranean-type kitchens, and this is easily the worst I've been to.

Love their food if I had an unlimited amount to spend on eating out this place would be it :) tried their chicken Caesar salad, simply amazing the romaine lettuce fresh and crisp, the chicken cooked to perfection and juicy and the food was out in less that 10 min. Also I ordered their Mediterranean nachos with chicken. By far the best nachos I've ever had they use received garbanzo beans and garbanzo bean chips :d simply yummy along with their fresh mango salsa. Here's a quick tip use yelp to check in and you will get a free drink :) love this place by far one if the top 10 restaurants in utah and super affordable.

Low quality at a very high price - everything tastes like it's straight from a can. The pasta I ordered came out at the same time I started to sit down (obviously not fresh) and my food was lukewarm.

I've died and gone to heaven! My wife and I stumbled across this place while out shopping, and we both agree that this is our new favorite place. The prices are also very reasonable. The lamb and beef burrito are very tender and full of flavor. I can't say enough good things.

  • Michael N.

I have loved the few dishes I have had there. The pizzas ("flats") are excellent! They have the best crust I've ever had on a pizza. The owner is friendly and right up front, talking to customers, and you can watch your food being prepared. The décor is not exactly fancy, but hey, you don't eat the décor! The food there is first-rate.

Such a great restaurant right around the corner from my house. The food was amazing and the mango salsa was a great surprise. After eating and drinking my Sam Adams here, my body lifted out of my chair as I reached Nirvana. 10/10 I'd eat there again.

Get the Gourmet Pita, the menu says shrimp steak or chicken.. ignore that and ask for the Shwarma on it. FANTASTIC. It is the closest thing to real Turkish food I have found here in Utah. The warm soft pita lined with toasty mozz and topped with cilantro and avocado is a heavenly combination.

If you are in the SLC/Murray area, definetely give this place a try! Very delicious and surprisingly light, I was very impressed. The service was great, and we left feeling refreshingly full. Also, the prices are great for what you get.

This is probably the best shwarma I've had in Utah. Everyone at my table was pleased with their meals. The only weird thing was that they nearly drowned us in couscous. We also got the chips with hummus. The chips were pretty amazing.

Placed a short notice catering order for 16 people today. This place was a huge hit at the office. One of my favorite restaurants in Utah so far. Everyone was happy and i was happy to introduce them to a new restaurant. Even the pickiest of eaters liked the chicken pesto penne. The only reason I'm not giving a full 5 stars is because I was in a hurry, had to stand in line with everyone else during busy lunch hour to pay, and then carry about 35 lbs of food out to my car myself with heels on. But they were really busy so I'm glad that they even took my order that morning.

My husband and I eat there with out 3 kids every time we're in town. There's something for every palate. My girls get the tomato, basil 3 cheese flat bread pizza, my son and hubby love the Cajun quinoa with steak, and my fav is the ground lamb marinara over zucchini noodles. Seriously some of the healthiest, freshest, cleanest food I've had! Plus if you check in on yelp you get a free drink.

Excellent quality food bursting with flavor, and a robust menu to satisfy both the eclectic eater and the less adventurous. Service is equally good. Only two oddities are, a menu height for basketball players only, and restaurant style food but served in a fast food fashion.

I forgot to review our dinner here last week and was back for lunch today, so I will combine our visits. The employees and owner suggested their favorites as we were new to this restaurant. I ordered the chicken quinoa special, which was delicious but a little too spicy for my preference (I could taste the garlic for several days). My husband ordered the shwarma plate, then saw the chef with a salmon/avocado dish which he asked about. The chef said it was something he just cooked up and GAVE IT TO MY HUSBAND. Wow. Very nice. We loved the garbanzo chips with hummus and mango salsa as an appetizer. The baklava was also good for dessert. Today I ordered steak Marsala with thin noodles, artichokes and mushrooms; the sauce was sweet and the steak was very tender, but the dish could have used more salt or flavoring. My husband liked the beef/lamb shwarma plate but not as much as the specials last week. The tahini sauce with pita was great, but the rosemary bread was AMAZING. I don't want to know how many calories were in each bite. ;) They have a self-serve soup and salad bar with some of their entrees along with many soda and bottled drink choices. We will try their baked pasta meals, sandwiches and flatbread pizzas later. The owner recognized us from last week, and all of the employees were friendly and helpful. I wish there were more booths as some of the tables are tiny and too close to other diners. We may have found a new "regular" place to eat!

Went here tonight on a double date. Loved all the food. My husband had a shwarma wrap and it was amazing and fresh! I had a gourmet chicken pita. It was soooo good. The sautéed veggies were amazing as well as his seasoned chicken. The other couple got a chicken flat bread (pizza) which I tried and the flat bread was so good as well. Her husband had a shwarma plate. And we couldn't get over how good the salad dressing was. Everyone loved the food and we will be driving out of our way again to come back!!! We also had the baklava and it was awesome. It melted in your mouth. What an amazing find!

We placed an order with the manager about 20mins before they closed for pickup and he didn't really seem to care about the order too much his voice sounded irritated. We picked up the food and everything tasted like crap and it seems like the person making the food didn't really care. We also ordered 4 Baklavas and they forgot to give them to us. Didn't call back because why would I it seems like they don't want customers.

What a great find! I ordered the gourmet pita with chicken, which was super delicious. I loved the warm pita bread especially, and the side of cous cous was great. I loved the atmosphere, and was happy to see that the place stayed busy. My one drawback was the service - not that it was bad, but the girl who took my order failed to point out where I could find a fork, water cups, napkins, etc. All in all, a wonderful restaurant with delicious food - I will definitely be going back again!

CousCous is an excellent restaurant. Nick, the restaurateur is friendly and actually cares about the quality of the ingredients. I've eaten here many times and he regularly comes out to interact with his diners and teach them about his philosophy on food and cooking. The ingredients used are excellent and very fresh. Almost everything is prepared within the restaurant. I've had many dishes here and the Zucchini noodles are a surprising delight. The minced Lamb burrito is also very delicious. CousCous is one of those rare restaurants you can go to where you don't feel like you just put a bunch of garbage in your body. The food sits light, yet provides nourishment. It really is a healthy restaurant. I regularly bring friends to CousCous and it inevitably turns out to be one of their favorite restaurants around. If you enjoy excellent food, quality ingredients, robust taste with character, and feeling good after eating out, then CousCous is the place to go.

This place is fast, fresh, family owned and seriously ridiculously good. I'm not kidding, eat here before you die. We had the Mediterranean burrito, the shwarma plate, curry lamb soup..I will dream of this food for many years, I only wish they had a restaurant in Florida. Seriously, best Mediterranean food I've ever had. Thanks Cous Cous! Now come open one in Cape Coral, Florida please!!!

When I mentioned that we should go here, my husband was skeptical. He is more of a burgers and beer guy. I had the shawarma wrap and my husband had the Mediterranean burrito. We both loved our meals. I have been here numerous times and never tried it. I will get it from now on. Super good! Their garbanzo chips and hummus are really great too. I had forgotten my Wasatch Savings card. I mentioned it to the woman at the counter (I think it was the owner's wife) and even though I didn't have it, she gave us the discount anyway! Sooo nice. Always great customer service. The place was packed and people kept coming in. I love that the food is healthy. We will be making this a staple for sure.

There's not too much I can say here that hasn't already been said by the Yelper Elite community. But this place had damn good food on my visit. I enjoyed the Shawarma plate, and my mom and wife had two different salads that were also excellent. Used my Yelp check-in to get a free drink. The service was top-notch, the vegetable soup was incredulous, and you can tell the owners go out of their way to make the experience unforgettable. Can't wait until I'm back out that way to try some more of their menu!

This place is great and had quickly turned into one of my favorite places to eat. It's pretty tucked away, so I didn't even know it existed. Wow, though. Amazing Mediterranean food. The gyros are the best, their pizzas are awesome, and I'm always down for a gourmet pita. My favorite dish, however, is the stuffed pastees. What a diamond in the rough!

The name brought me in, but the food will bring me back!! I had the Chicken Artichoke Pesto CousCous, it was amazing! I had been craving pesto and it didn't disappoint. The portion was definitely enough that I would have been able to take home a lot of leftovers, except one problem... I couldn't stop eating. I work down the road and I plan to work my way through the menu. Yum!!

Before you turn your nose up at me wondering why I do not love this place the way everyone else does - I will tell you my 4 star is simply because I did not get enough tomatoes on my plate. For many, that's not a deal breaker - but this girl loves her tomatoes and without it, it just taste too manly for me. The food was really fresh, even the feta which wasn't even crumbled for me which made it a bit difficult to disperse onto my food. The meat was excellent, very fresh and tender. I was afraid to get the salad since Xinmiao got food poisoning from it but the soup was great - a lil too spicy for the kids, but not spicy enough for me - call me Goldilocks, but I still enjoyed it. The place itself was packed, but the crowd seemed to eat and go - so seating became available pretty quickly. There were high chairs which is always a plus for me (we like to kid test every place), and everything else our family got was also good. I was especially fond of the mosaics on the walls - that were broken into little pieces - very neat. The ambiance is great for a casual date or a quick dinner with the fam bam. Parking is easy because it's in a huge plaza and everyone working there was very attentive and helpful before, during and after we were eating. Oh - and don't forget the Yelp check-in deal for a free drink (if it's still there). AWESOME! ps I put not great for groups just cuz seating will be a bit stressful if you intend to all sit together if timing isn't just right.

This is one of my favorite restaurants--consistently tasty, fresh food. My favorites are the Mediterranean Burrito with shrimp and the gluten-free Pesto Chicken over zucchini noodles. The hummus is some of the best around--I prefer it over the mango salsa. And I love the garbanzo bean chips. Yum!

I had the shwarma wrap with a side of couscous. Shwarma with a whole grain wrap, lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, garlic tahini and fresh avocado. It was delicious! Very friendly service, too. Close to home so I will definitely be back.

Solid vegetarian and vegan options. What I like about Couscous the most is that I can get my food quickly and enjoy a glass of wine.

This place is awesome. Good food and a really friendly staff. Great selection and plenty of delicious health conscious options. I love to see a restaurant that uses olive oil to cook with rather than some cheap veggie oil crap. Only negative is the styrofoam to go containers. Haven't we established how terrible those are and that there are other options available that are not far off the price point? Anyway- food was great!

After careful reflection and much vacillation, I have zeroed in on my review for Couscous Grill. This restaurant is tricky, because it presents itself as a "Mediterranean Grill", but it's really more like Mediterranean Fusion, with offerings like Mediterranean Nachos (very cleverly, with nacho chips prepared from garbanzo beans), Mediterranean Burrito and even an "Island Chicken" (*gasp*, complete with teriyaki flavor). Very interesting concept, and Couscous Grill has made a brave attempt to execute it. I visited Couscous last week with my wife and mother for a rainy day lunch. My wife was immediately drawn to the schwarma plate, which comes with a side salad or soup. I opted for the Couscous Specialty 10" Gourmet Baked Flat (also known as a "pizza"). My mother made the brave (and some would suggest foolhardy) choice to dive into the Island Chicken. We also ordered the Hummus, Mango Salsa and Garbanzo Chips. Whether it was purposeful or not, we elected for a fairly good cross-section of the menu. The garbanzo chips arrived first, accompanied by the hummus and mango salsa. I thought the chips were interesting and unique, certainly a viable alternative to the traditional corn chips you get at Mexican restaurants. The hummus was from white beans, rather than garbanzo beans, which normally I disdain, but this one was decent. The mango salsa was fairly run-of-the-mill. Our entrees came next. Let's start with the schwarma plate. This was really the star of the show. The meat was moist and properly spiced. Combined with the pita, accompanying vegetables and tzatziki sauce, it was really marvelous. The quality of this schwarma plate rivals anything else I've tried in the Salt Lake valley. Thumbs up. On to my "baked flat". Very disappointing. The crust was too thick, almost like a full piece of pita bread, and the cheese combination of mozzarella, provolone and feta (I couldn't taste much of a hint of feta.) came off as too bland. How about a bit of tang in the cheese combo? Further, there was too much of it on the pizza. The one highlight of the pizza was the garlic-infused olive oil, which truly saved the dish from being completely bland. Mom's teriyaki bowl was even more disappointing. I will add, in Couscous Grill's defense, why would any person in their right mind order a teriyaki bowl at a Mediterranean restaurant, but it is *their* menu offering, so the blame can be spread both ways. A couple of bites of the Island Chicken was all I needed to determine that this item should be removed from the menu. Couscous should never be combined with teriyaki sauce! So, there you have it. Couscous Grill seems to excel with its Middle Eastern offerings, somewhat lags when it goes further afield into Mediterranean cuisine (Italian) and fails when it attempts to go 'fusion'. I would definitely return for the schwarma plate, and that's the restaurant's saving grace, but other menu items either have to be improved or shaved entirely.

This place is absolutely amazing. I've been to a lot of restaurants in the Salt Lake Valley and have to say, that this place provides fresh, healthy and delicious dishes. The owner is very friendly and always has a smile on his face. The hummus is to die for. It tastes great! Nothing negative to say about this place.

Deserves the very high ratings - the food is top notch, fresh, unique and delicious. The staff is great and the restaurant clean. The portion sizes are a little small but that may be my opinion solely because I find the food so delicious.

The food was pretty good. We ordered chicken Marsala with thin noodles and chicken sawarma with thin noodle with Alfredo sauce. The portion size was generous. The service was blazing fast. We just filled our drink and sat at our table and the food came on instantly. I would definitely come back here and try out their speciality sawarma wraps. Also free drink with yelp check in. Yay!!!

Shwarma plate was excellent. The meat was delicious and tender. Pita was fresh. Sauces and dressings were excellent. My son got a pizza and the crust was not great but the toppings were spectacular. The service was very good and FAST.

I was blown away, from the outside its not a bad looking space but it looks like a mid level box. A solid menu nothing to extravagant. I ordered the Steak Pita and I'm serious when I say, for the money that was some of the best flavored and cooked steak I've had for a while. Granted, I've eaten at Flemings, Ruth Chris's, Bambara and The New Yorker. I'm not saying that its better I'm just saying I've had many great cuts and for the $$ it's was awesome!!

How have I not been eating here for years? Great service, quick turnaround, amazing food, casual atmosphere and then some more amazing food. I got the shwarma plate with the ginger curry soup and I got the kiddos noddles in a béchamel sauce (love that they even use that term). The fresh veggies, cheese and dill cream sauce sent me over the top! I am forever addicted! The meat was fine (i suppose it could be a smidgen better but i will overlook it) the pita was good and the flavor is just outstanding. The soup wasn't too hot but the curry was pronounced and I like the zucchini in it. Thanks for being kid friendly too! The atmosphere is fun, funky music, great decor, plenty of seating. Win win all over!

Fresh food, nice ambiance and a wonderful chef. We went with a party of six and each ordered different meals. The zucchini noodles were so good it taste like pasta. The garlic rosemary bread wedges were sinful and the Shwarma Wrap is DELICIOUS...yum!!

  • Mathieu A.

Absolutely delicious!!! Immediately after walking in, you will be greeted by a friendly staff. I ordered the Shwarma Wrap and have nothing but great things to say about it. The portion was huge and the tahini sauce had an amazing balance of garlic flavours. Furthermore, the sauce works to bind all the other ingredients together. Definitely delish!

Clean dining area, fast friendly service, acceptable parking. Food - bland and unexciting. As I was eating, the people I heard saying they liked this place were all white 20/30 something housewives. The manager strongly recommended I have the Shwarma chicken. Flavors were non descript. The white yoghurt(?) sauce only served to weaken any flavoring. Onion and tomatoes seemed to be there for the purpose of showing what this dish could have been with some flavor that didn't hide like all the ones that were subjected to this dish. The Tron soundtrack playing in the dining area wasn't enough to save this meal. Not "bad", but nothing about this place makes me WANT to come back.

First look at the menu, you're going to realize this place is more of a mediterranean fusion more than a traditional mediteranean greek place. There's pasta, pizza, burrito and nachos. Yes, that's right a mediterranean burrito and nachos!!! I still haven't tried this yet, but I will. So I got the pita with swarma meat since I like gyros. First bite was bursting with flavors. This isn't your typical gyro though. There's cheese, mushrooms, and guacomole in it, which are all winners in my book. I would choose this place over greek soulvaki any day for a gyro :)

Shawarma plate and chicken artichoke pesto couscous awesome - and shawarma chili. Excellent! Seafood plate not so great (salmon extra fishy, shrimp extra cooked and marinara not my fav flavor), but zucchini noodles were awesome.

Cous Cous finds itself in the parking lot of a shopping plaza at 5470 South 900 East in Murray. It's a small place, but its popularity is no secret. They've been receiving awards since they first moved in a few years ago. Despite its accessible and friendly atmosphere, the menu boasts a collection a very authentic dishes of shwarma, hummus, and of course, cous cous. The place is reasonably small as you might expect from a strip mall restaurant, but they've managed to pack it full of aesthetics that are pleasing and interesting. The kitchen grill is open to the dining room so you can see and hear everything that goes on back there. They have a hummus bar and and olive bar to the far right of the above picture. The line starts at the door and makes its way to the cashier who was very helpful, but rushed. There weren't that many people in the restaurant when we arrived and I had hoped he'd be able to spend a little more energy making recommendations from the menu for us first-timers. The restaurant manager actually did come later in the meal to ask us how we were and he even personally bussed our table when we finished. The food was absolutely wonderful. The portions weren't enormous, but I left feeling very satisfied. I ordered the shwarma wrap which was served with their amazing cranberry cous cous. My friend ordered the steak pita with creamy tahini garlic sauce, mushrooms, and avocado... of yeah. The really go overboard with the avocado. Not that it's a bad thing, but but my wrap and his pita were seriously 30% avocado. Anyway... I would absolutely suggest Cous Cous for anyone looking to break the usual routine and enjoy some multicultural goodness.

A couple of months back I was looking for a place to have lunch near my new job and on a lark, accidentally "discovered" Cous Cous. I have been eating here vigorously since then. All I can say is I cannot believe I did not eat here sooner! I am ashamed that I have wasted countless meals and money eating at the usual Greek Soulvaki joints when all along this wonderful gem existed completely unbeknownst to me! Upon my first visit, the helpful and friendly cashier recommended I try the Spicy Pita. I read the description on the menu and it sounded delicious, so I pulled the trigger. As I sat down to my meal I was left utterly speechless. The combination of spices, freshness, meal presentation, and overall restaurant ambiance overwhelmed me and I grew dizzy with excitement. I felt like I had landed upon the shores of a new world rife with untold delights and exotic pleasures. I knew instantly I was in for a titillating and joyous journey of the palate. Every meal comes with a side of cous cous. I have never had cous cous and it was a new experience for me. It is a very small grained rice, extremely light and fluffy. Topped with spices, nuts, some type of berry for a dash of sweetness, . Awesome. The pita was primo (I went with chicken). It is thoughtfully and meticulously laid out, containing layers of sizzling hot cheese, chicken, sauteed peppers and onions, spices, and their homemade yogurt sauce. The portion was quite large and extremely filling. I have since had the chicken and lamb shwarma wrap, which is on a whole wheat tortilla. I alternate between the pita and the wrap. However, every offering Cous Cous offers is premium and delicious. I cannot recommend this place enough. I feel as though I have been bestowed a gift having my work located so close to Cous Cous.

Went back for dinner this time and tried the Vegetable Couscous Bowl with Chicken. Also had a side of hummus and pita. The portion size and price was very reasonable. The couscous was cooked perfectly. The vegetable was pretty tasteful. The teriyaki flavored chicken threw me off a little. Not sure how that fits into a Mediterranean place. I think if the seasoned it with middle eastern spices or just salt and pepper it would complimented the meal better. The hummas was a bit in the mushy side and tasted more like baba ghanous.

What can I say???? Landed in SLC absolutely starving. Intrigued by the listing we stopped in. What a GREAT decision. The staff was super helpful, recommending both their favorites and things that were popular. We ordered a shwarma wrap, veggie couscous bowl, and both soups - roasted tomato and corn bisque, and curried lamb chili. Portions were generous, and the service was super quick. Great to get fresh food prepared at such a reasonable price. Clearly they do a HUGE take out business, as many workers are scrambling to put together large orders. We'll definitely be back!

The food has always tasted fresh. It leaves you with a satisfied full--no, stuffed--feeling, yet you don't feel gross and sick. I eat here all the time and will do my best to put as much of my food budget into securing their future as I possibly can. My wife and I have garlic and dairy allergies, they make everything fresh and will honor request about troublesome ingredients. BIG plus, garlic can be a challenge most places. But it's a blessing too... We find that quality food doesn't need garlic to taste incredible-such is the case at Cous Cous. Tip: Ask the person behind the counter for what they eat for lunch there. Order that. BLISS.... Note: In all my time eating here with my friends and family, we've always been impressed, not satisfied but impressed by the quality and freshness of the food. I feel sorry for that gal who feels she may have been poisoned... I bet she'll avoid the Cous Cous--made to order, fresh goodness--meals the rest of her life. For me, this is a concern here as much as any other place. I will always eat at Cous Cous.

One of the best restaurants in SLC, regardless of price. Use of the highest quality ingredients really makes them stand out. Excellent service as well, without formal waitstaff. Take a date there - she will love it!

Excellent, high-quality food that is like a home-cooked meal, with healthful options, fast service, and very kind and professional owners/ staff. Prices are more than reasonable, especially for the portion sizes. Everything I've tried on the menu is delicious; will be back for more! Highly recommended!

We decided to give this a try based on yelpsters. It wasn't bad, but maybe not as good as I hoped. Kerstin ordered the artichoke chicken pesto couscous dish and I had the chicken broccoli penne bake. We also had the pita chips with mango salsa and hummus. First the chicken was a little on the salty side on both dishes. The pesto and couscous were tasty but the ratio of salty chicken to couscous was off. The creamy sauce on the baked penne dish was runny like milk and tasted like milk with salty chicken. The pita chips weren't what I was expecting--not bad--but basically like tortilla chips. The mango salsa and hummus were tiny cups of ok. Meh.

Came here using the Wasatch Savings Card and found this place to be much better than I was expecting. The ambiance is nice and low key, easy to order at the counter and find a seat. The service was quick. The garbanzo chips came right away and had two dipping sauces: hummus and a mango dip. So yummy! Highly recommended. We ordered the schwarma plate ($9.99) and the chicken artichoke pesto with zucchini noodles ($10.99) The schwarma plate had a pile of meat and salad and a pita. Yummy white sauce to make a gyro. The pesto plate had very nicely cooked chicken, artichoke, tomato, spiral cut zucchini with a creamy pesto sauce. Really good but not overly flavorful. Will definitely come back here again without the discount card.

What a fantastic find! Although from the outside we thought we were going into a regular restaurant, we were surprised to see it more of a buy your food then sit down type of place (like noodles & co or pei wei). Even though the prices were a little higher than we expected, once we got the food we understood why and it was TOTALLY WORTH IT!!! I ordered the gluten free quinoa & teriyaki veggies platter. It was a nice full serving of food and the flavors were so complimentary and not overwhelming at all. Veggies were perfectly cooked as was the quinoa. I ate every last morsel! My boyfriend ordered the chicken broccoli penned bake. He had to wait a few extra minutes for his to come out and for good reason...it was well worth the wait. The broccoli was crisp and not overcooked or undercooked, the chicken was clearly freshly grilled, the Alfredo sauce was hand made and creamy but not overpowering. It came out piping hot right from the oven and it gave it a perfect crisp crust. Exactly what he was craving and expected and even more. We also got an order of the hummus, mango salsa & garbanzo chips - completely unlike anything we have ever tasted and so delicious. Perfect crunch, perfect seasoning, perfect compliment to the flavorful sweet mango salsa and aromatic hummus. The staff is incredibly friendly and the service was amazing. The owner is friendly and front and center even delivering dishes out to customers. This is a great place and we will definitely be coming back here more frequently once we move down to this neighborhood in July!

Went to CousCous with my mamma and at first I was skeptical. I looked over the menu and saw things like lamb burrito and raised an eyebrow. Luckily, my mamma had already been to CousCous and assured me the food was delish, and she was right! We ordered the lamb chile, lamb burrito, and the couscous speciality flat bread. Everything was amazing...the chile came with couscous and was very hearty, the burrito was filling but not too heavy, and the flat bread crust was the perfect blend of crunch on the outside and soft inside. The atmosphere is very casual but don't let that fool you, these dishes pack a sophisticated punch of flavor. Plus our bill came out to only $21 which will please even the most serious cheap a**! Since leaving SLC for LaLa land I've had a serious upgrade in my culinary adventures, but CousCous makes me wish they had an LA location.

I'm from Florida and found this place on yelp. Probably the best Mediterranean food I've had in a long time if ever! Reasonably priced. Fast but sooooo fresh! Thanks Cous Cous! You guys rock! For someone that likes to try new places, the fact that I have been here 3 times in the past 2 weeks speaks to how much I enjoy this restaurant. Everything I have ordered and tasted has been fantastic. All their dishes are made from scratch, and the passion the owners have for their food is apparent the moment your plate arrives. If your looking for a spot with scratch made healthful food, great prices, and friendly atmosphere, don't hesitate to check out Couscous Grill!

I was very excited to find such a highly rated restaurant so close to my house, so I went to Couscous Grill yesterday with a friend to get some take out to eat while we watched our programs. The restaurant has a surprisingly charming atmosphere, and I have to say that I was a little disappointed that we didn't stay! Overwhelmed by the many delicious-sounding menu options, we went a little crazy and ordered a schwarma wrap, Mediterranean nachos, and the potato dumplings. Everything was good, but we particularly loved the nachos and the dumplings. The wrap fell a little short. It needed more sauce or more veggies or both. Also, the couscous that came with this dish was dry and flavorless. Overall though, we were thrilled by our choices. Looking forward to a return visit to sample the rest of the menu!

It looks like we are not the only ones who love this place. We found this eatery one evening while running errands in all places, Murray, Utah. It fit our restaurant requirements: authentic, home-made, reasonably priced, preferably ethnic, and not a chain. We were so happy that we put this on our list of places to return to. Unfortunately for us, it is a destination given the distance from home. Couscous Grill, please move to Sugarhouse! You won't regret it.

Based only on what I ordered, I wouldn't be ordering again. However, I am willing to go back and try other items as it does look appealing. Ordered the shawarma nachos and veggie sandwich. The only tasty thing about the nachos was the mango salsa. Adding large amount of the hummus made it very bland. The veggie sandwich could have been filled with another portion as I don't believe the bread should be 3x larger than the filling even if it is just a veggie sandwich.

Wife and I had been looking for a gyro place. Decided to let Yelp help me out and boy did they. Couscous Grill satisfied our craving, but created a bigger problem. My pregnant wife is now craving it a day after eating there. You can order your food at the counter or you can sit and order. We did the counter order by ordering a shwarma plate and shwarma wrap with an appetizer or garbanzo chips, hummus and salsa. Everything was fantastic. We will absolutely be back because you DO NOT want to anger a hungry pregnant woman.

Where do I start? I was introduced to Couscous not long after it opened. On my second visit I met Nick, part owner and chef, and since that day I have never had a meal that I haven't loved. Not long after I started working in Murray and would sometimes visit three times a week and enlightened more than a handful of coworkers of Couscous's existence. The staff is friendly and they remember you quickly. They offer a limited wine and beer selection, which is perfectly adequate to match the menu. The daily soups are delicious (try the lamb chili) as are the daily specials, although often they are quite decadent. The desserts are made by a very talented cake and pastry chef that hails from the UK and far too often have led me to stray from not eating sweets. What should you eat? Well, I do not think you can go wrong with anything, but to ease yourself in go for a Mediterranean Burrito or the Shwarma Plate. Have gluten issues? Go for some zucchini pasta with sauce. Not willing to branch out? Have a flat bread. Do you hate yourself? Well, then don't eat here. My almost three year old nephew asks for this place by name, not for the kids menu items, but for what he eats off of our plates, and if you can convince a toddler, what more do you need?

Couscous Grill was formally a Bajios restaurant and has retained much of the same decor as the previous occupant. Instead of Mexican food Couscous Grill serves up generous portions of Mediterranean food. My lunch platter included ample portions of yero meat, pita bread, fresh tomatoes, feta cheese, onions, and a cucumber dill sauce. Soup was also included and there were two options: lamb soup and a vegetable soup. There was also a special soup. Overall the food was good and the restaurant staff was very friendly and personable. I'd eat here again if I was nearby.

This is a modern mom-and-pop shop... which is great! I met up with some friends here a couple days ago. I had never heard of this place... not really my part of town, but saw the reviews on Yelp and was excited to try the place. The best part about this place is the service. The staff (the owners, I think) are really nice and helpful. They explained about the food and the different options. The food is also really great, I had the shawarma plate which was very nice. I also like that they had fresh (really fresh) brewed ice tea. One of the best things about this place is the soup... and I do not normally like soup. It is great, you can taste it before you try it and you can scoop it up yourself. I had a curry veggie soup which was fantastic... it tasted like a homemade recipe. Not so impressed with the flatbread pizzas but I would return just for the soup. Good Eats.

The restaurant had a brush with violations and was closed for a brief period. My past visits had been good, so I returned when they reopened. Again, the food was delicious, inexpensive and promptly delivered. This remains a no frills setting. But they give every appearance of being back on track.

Great food prepared and served by great, friendly people. What, you want more? Ok. I was really craving the chicken marsala one day. The creamy sauce over beautifully sauteed mushrooms and artichoke hearts sounded just perfect. So, I wandered in and when I reached the counter, I dithered. My thought process, all shared out loud was something along the lines of "I really want chicken marsala, but I really shouldn't eat an entire plate full of luscious pasta lest my diet go completely to pot. Maybe I'll get some shwarma or a chicken pita instead..." And, as I trailed off, the owner leaned over and said two very magical words. Zucchini noodles. And so, despite having had many delicious flatbreads, pitas, and other dishes at Couscous, my go-to is now chicken marsala with zucchini noodles. Long, tender strips of healthy zucchini so perfectly mimic the texture of pasta that I hardly notice the difference. It's not like I'm gluten free or anything, but if you are, he's got you covered with other things like quinoa instead of couscous. In the mood for nachos? The corn chip substitute they use which is made of garbanzo beans are fantastic. Which isn't to say that the pasta isn't great. I've loved everything I've had that lived on Pasta Avenue, with the gnocchi deserving a special shout out. If you haven't visited, you should. If you have, seriously, zucchini noodles.

CousCous is such a great spot. Everything that I've ever ordered here has been great. This restaurant serves high quality and perfectly crafted food. Tonight I had the Shwarma Plate ($7.99). Mixture of beef and lamb rotisserie cone. Served with a freshly toasted pita, red onion, tomato and yogurt dill sauce (super yummy). You're given the choice of side salad or cup of soup with this meal. I went with the soup at the suggestion of the guy working the register. And I am glad that I did. There were two options for their soup of the day and I choose the Lamb Tagine and it was simply delicious! I cannot wait to go back again. Thank you Nick Shams (owner) for creating such a fine eating establishment.

This place is absolutely amazing!! I can not say enough about it. I have taken so many friends and family here and each and everytime it does not cease to blow me away. It is incredible that the location is not as delightful as you would like but the minute you walk in the ambience is radiating. The food is beyond good and the service is fantastic!! I have tried the Mediterranean Nachos which are my absolute favorite dish, a nice combination of garbanzo bean chips(yes you read that right!) and a mango salsa topped with layers of cheese and shawarma meat. What I really like about this place is the healthy route that they take. They offer a lot of gluten-free options and healthier substitutes. I have also tried their Mediterranean Burrito, Shawarma Plate and Hummus side and they are all fantastic! I am so glad my friend recommended this wonderful gem and I know I will be coming back and bringing many people in the near future.

Stopped at Couscous for lunch to try it for the first time with my wife and son. I thought it was going to be a mostly greek mediterranean place but was pleasantly surprised to encounter a menu that was mostly unexpected. I had a hard time ordering because everything on the menu sounded great. We tried the potato dumplings with chicken, the shawarma salad, the couscous specialty flat bread and the hummus, mango salsa and garbonzo chips. Although you walk up and order at the counter, the dishes are prepared and presented in manner fitting of sit down restaurant. We liked everything we ate. The potato dumplings had a tasty basil cream sauce and nice chucks of grilled chicken. The flat bread had a tender but crispy crust with a nice red sauce. The shawarma salad was definitely worth getting again. First time I've had garbonzo chips...nice. The service was good and you could sense a buzz and commitment in the kitchen aimed a delivering a excellent experience. Overall we are really glad we stopped. We will return.

For the price and location, this place can't be beat! Awesome Mediterranean food. My favorite dishes are the med nachos, chicken masala, and korma lamb chili.

Just let go of what you think "traditional" or "standard" Mediterranean is or should be, and you're going to become fast friends with Couscous. What I mean is, you're going to find some of the regulars here (kebabs, shawarma, etc.) but you're also going to find some things that don't fit inside your brain as normal or regular. Just let it go, and embrace the menu. What do I mean? Well, there's a whole section of Mediterranean pizzas. That's not so weird. Sure, there's an Islander pizza (and not Greek Islands). But that's just variety, right? With the baked pasta and noodles you suddenly go all Italian. Chicken Florentine. Chicken Parmesan. Then things take a turn for the unexpected. One of their newest items is a seafood burrito. Just take a deep breath, embrace the Mexican flair of that item (and the Mediterranean Nachos) and just explore the menu. Me.. well, I was feeling classic so I went with the shawarma plate. Lots of lamb & beef, a pita, some veggies, feta, and it was served with a mahoosive bowl of soup. The chicken curry soup has a few nice chunks of chicken and was savory but also sweet. I got pretty full on the meat plate as well, so they weren't skimping. I also tried the vegetarian ciabatta which was sort of a softspoken sandwich. Simple, but nice. The ambiance is nicer than you'd expect in a strip mall (when will we start expecting nicer ambiances in strip malls? Honestly--there are some nice strip mall restos out there.) but it's still pretty casual. Order from the counter, they bring it out to you. Simple decor. Darker, but not dark and sketchy. Just not IKEA style. What a wonderful addition to the area and a really nice change of pace.

Meh, nothing special. I have coworkers who think this place is God's gift to the earth - keep in mind these are coworkers who don't have any limitations on what they can eat. I'm GF and usually order the same thing every time - the mango chicken salad. For some reason I get a different version of this every single visit. Sometimes they decide I want dressing, sometimes they decide I don't. Today someone decided that rosemary would be a good flavor combo with cranberries, chicken and mangoes. Wait - huh?? Just bizarre. I want to like this place but it's just mediocre IMHO. I could make a better salad at home :/ I've never had an issue with undercooked proteins here, but they are cooked until they are *just* done, and the resulting texture really freaks me out. I had to keep double checking my shrimp last time and chicken today to make sure it really was cooked through because the texture was just giving me the willies. Anyway, if you can eat wheat and don't order the salad I'm sure you'll be just fine. As for me, I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.

For all the reasons listed by others, CousCous is simply the best Mediterranean restaurant in our city. I've been going for lunch at least once a month for a year, and I have never been disappointed, and I've often been awestruck. And, the owner is what an owner should be; committed, passionate, gregarious. Oh, wait, O'Falafel is the best Mediterranean restaurant in our city. Whatever, they are both incredible. We are getting spoiled.

Wow! Needed a fresh eating experience - turned to yelp. Found Couscous Grill with great reviews. Mine just adds to those. Want a taste sensation, try this place. Want healthy food, try this place. Expensive? - nope. The shawarma plate and shrimp/artichoke pasta were great. Also had the tomato, cheese and onion soup - can I say "more please"? The mango salsa with gluten free chip - had to get extra to take home with us. Nick the chef/owner was wonderful. So many other things to try. We will be back for sure. Found another "go-to" place!

I come here often to get their shawarma wrap and I order it with the yogurt sauce instead of the tahini sauce. The menu has something for everyone. The owner is there most of the time, and that shows a lot! very inviting place, good atmosphere overall. If you like mediterranean food this place worth a try.

4.5 stars.. Went here on the fly when I was in the area .. Impressed, food was good, service was great, and highly recommend. I don't have much experience with Mediterranean food but the cous cous was tasty and the special of the day was perfect! I would highly recommend and I here again! My friend and I were there a whole talking and they were great with service and very helpful.

Wow. Very good. I give 5 stars for places that surprise me and surpass expectations for the price, and this place certainly qualifies for 5 stars. Location was fine. Standard somewhat modern feel. The food was great. We were with a moderate sized group and tried a lot of different items. They were nearly uniformly excellent. I had the shawarma plate and loved it. Also, don't miss the soup (you get soup or salad with many plates--soup was amazing, salad ok). They'll let you sample the soups first, and they consider them to be a specialty. They had a lentil soup that was good, and then a Parmesan soup of some sort that was amazing. The garbanzo chips are very good with a nice dipping sauce. The bruschetta was also excellent. The house salad was just ok, but absolutely everything else I tried was solid 5-star quality food. I love this place and will return when in town next

Amazing food! They catered for an event of 100 people and their couscous platter with chicken, olives, raisins, etc. was the favorite dish of the day! So simple, yet so good! And they are humanitarian company, you can't beat that!

The shwarma wrap was full of flavor and a very large portion! Way to big for me to eat, so I took half home. Right amount of sauce, avocado and lamb was surprisingly moist. Would definitely eat here again!

I live a mile from this place & always wondered about it, finally stopped in & had the veggie & steak cous cous DELICIOUS!!! I'm going to be a regular! They need a better sign out front, but the atmosphere inside is pretty cool.

FINALLY made it down to this spot after hearing about it for so long. A couple of friends seem to go to this place once a week and decided that since they just got their liquor license, they would invite some folks to their favorite spot so we could see what the fuss was about. So my boyfriend and I headed down one Friday night to meet up with said friends along with my boyfriend's sister to sample the fine delights offered here. Everything on the menu sounded so awesome that I had trouble deciding what to order, but eventually settled on the gourmet pita wrap with shrimp. Others ordered a wide variety of dishes, including the shwarma plate, lamb burrito, stuffed pasta, and a teriyaki chicken dish along with a healthy serving of garbanzo chips. Everything was wonderfully fresh and delicious. I loved the variety of flavors; there was definitely a great fusion aspect to everything. They have a variety of reasonably priced wines and beers, and if you bring your own, the corkage fee is only $5. On top of the already reasonable prices for the food, you can't really beat that. ISo what if it used to be a Bajio? I'm already thinking about my next visit.

When I tried CousCous for the first time, I was immediately impressed by the quality and uniqueness of the food and by the friendliness of Nick, the owner and genius behind the savory meals we now look forward to regularly. I highly recommend the shwarma burrito, Mediterranean nachos, or chicken carbonara. Nick is so great to make your food exactly as you request it too. The restaurant is clean and staff friendly.

LOVE this place. The more I come here the more I love it! Amazing flavors, fabulous service. I love everything I've tried, it's worth the trip. The baklava might be the best ever.

So cheap, so delicious. I had the chicken pita and it was amazing. The cous cous was actually the worst thing I had, which wasn't terrible. Just not great. I'll definitely be back.

Came with a friend for lunch. He ordered a shawarma wrap and I got steak pita. Got our drink, sat down, talked for about a minute and our food was delivered to our table. Super fast service and the food was still hot. I enjoyed the pita but it really needed something else to give it a kick. Maybe it needs some spices to kick it up a notch. The cous cous had cranberries in it which gave it some nice flavor. I'll have to come back and try something else then maybe 4 stars.

Wow! Found this on yelp... So glad I did. It's not my normal stomping grounds, but I was starving! The restaurant is pretty cool. Clean, quiet and well stocked. The menu is pretty big and a bit scary, but easy to get over that. I got the burrito. Now before you pull your hair out thinking about a burrito in a Mediterranean restaurants, let me say one word.. Awesome! Couscous, yogurt, all the good stuff in a multi grain tortilla with whatever kind of meat you want. Plus chips and a mango sauce. Now you might be thinking, that the star of the show. You would be wrong. The real star is the red marinara sauce. Listen up people! Put this stuff an everything. Burrito, chips, brucetta, YOUR FINGER... Anything you can find. So good!

I was pretty leery of this place given the location and the outside appearance (the cursive scroll sign - not working for them). Luckily, the food at Couscous grill reminded me that you should never judge a book by it's cover. I had the lemon shrimp scampi - it was amazing. Service was fast and friendly. You absolutely must check this place out!

This place is a real gem. It's in an unexpected area, but offers a really unique experience. I love that it is a walk-up style - so you save on tip. This doesn't not take away from the quality of the food. The Shawarma Plate is the best.

full disclosure: I am a vegan (and have eaten here while vegetarian too). I am a little bummed that they don't have falafel, but other than that I can't complain. Its a place that you can go to when no one can agree on what to eat. Murray is sorely lacking good food so I was pumped when this place opened. I personally like the interior- was obviously a mexican place before this, and little remodeling was done. I don't usually care a lot about the atmosphere, I typically focus on food quality instead, but theres something really likable about decor and food being totally mismatched. The dressings on salads are amazing, and the vegetables are always very high quality. The food is typically very healthy and expertly spiced. The place has always been spotless when I've gone. Well done, cous cous!!!

Had the Stuffed Pastees. They were delicious, as was the homemade rosemary garlic bread.

  • Matthew L.

Deserves the very high ratings - the food is top notch, fresh, unique and delicious. The staff is great and the restaurant clean. The portion sizes are a little small but that may be my opinion solely because I find the food so delicious.

Fun Mediterranean food, friendly service and high on the Gluten Free friendly scale. Their food is delish.

Decent Mediterranean food. Not like your typical fast casual meditteranean, they really have a great, unique menu. The staff was all very friendly. Would go back again!

    (3)

This place is a must visit, try the Couscous with steak. Take it from a Moroccan! I know what's the real deal. This is the closest Couscous to the authentic thing, that I have ever had in the west coast.

I am always satisfied and happy when we come here, which is often! Just last night I had the Shrimp and Artichoke pasta with a white sauce and a side of feta cause I like it salty! Omg!

I've died and gone to heaven! My wife and I stumbled across this place while out shopping, and we both agree that this is our new favorite place. The prices are also very reasonable. The lamb and beef burrito are very tender and full of flavor. I can't say enough good things.

Gotta love family owned business that treats and tastes this good! Bring one to Cape Coral FL please!!!!

Pretty sure I just found my new favorite place!! The chips and hummus are amazing and I also got the mushroom and Alfredo couscous. It was so so good!

Great and unique food choices and very reasonable prices. Tried the Couscous specialty flat (pizza) and the garbanzo chips with hummus, mango chutney and sheaths. They were both top notch Can't wait to go back and try something new. Check this new place out you'll be glad you did.

So good!

I ate here on a whim after looking at the other reviews on Yelp and was pleasantly satisfied! Service was standard, nothing too special but the food was worth the price and more! Great dishes for great prices. Will definitely be going back

Sign me up!

  • Marriner M.
