I wouldn't say IHOP has extraordinary breakfast food, I just love breakfast food and there's so many IHOPS around. Because it's convenient, I find myself there ordering the stuffed french toast combo (comes with eggs, hash browns and meat if you like meat) The service is usually pretty average. You usually have to wait a while for everything - getting seated, food, getting the check, etc. But like I said, IHOPs are everywhere and open almost all the time (6am to midnight)

Super slow, bad service. It took forever just to order water. Never coming here again.

Showed up mid-Sunday morning with a party of 4. Service was slow, place was dirty. From the dried syrup splashed all over the table holder to the filthy coffee carafe dirty. Food was mediocre at best. I have breakfasted at many I-Hops over the years, this one being the worst. My wife commented that it was like eating at a truck-stop. Just calling it as we saw it.

The worst service I have ever had the server was blind to whats on the menu, never asked if we would like refills , we asked him for water and he forgot. The place was dirty tables still had plates and cups on empty tables the whole stay. Once we ordered food it took about 45 min to get food to the table.... I don't recommend this place to anyone!!!

I have been to this IHOP on several occasions. I recently found myself in there for breakfast on a Saturday morning with 7 members of the fam during a day long layover of a traveling cousin. The best part of the experience was getting a table for eight quickly on a Saturday morning in the middle of the breakfast rush. Upon leaving, it dawned on my why it was so easy to get a table. This place was awful, but we were caught unaware. Our server was overwhelmed from the get go with an entire section of booths and two large group tables. She worked her butt off but was obviously hurried and could have used an assistant manager or someone to help. When we asked for silverware, she brought out a stack of bundles and kind of dumped them on the table, letting us sort it out. She soon returned with two carafes of coffee, one of which was nearly empty. Our food was brought out in a timely manner given the circumstances. Eight of eight plates were cold. Cold eggs, cold meat, cold pancakes, cold crepes, cold waffles, cold toast, cold biscuits and gravy. We knew we were had and rather than sending it back and risking a "little extra" in our food , we quickly ate and got out of there. Nobody reported any sickness, but nor did anybody report enjoying anything about their meal. Our group ranged in age from 16 to 78, and nobody ordered the same dish. I cannot recommend eating at this IHOP anymore. There was a time when it was standard IHOP fare, which is a decent breakfast, but it has gone downhill considerably since I last ate there a few months back. If it stays on present course, word of mouth and sites like this one will drive this place out of business. I will not return, and will instead offer out of town family a farewell breakfast at either Carls Cafe or Cottonwood Cafe which are closer to my house anyway, locally owned/operated, and offer far better service and food.

We never eat anything except breakfast food, even later in the day. We're never disappointed. Crepes are great, pancakes are great, eggs are good... Nothing truly exceptional, just regular breakfast items. Never had bad service, either. Kids eat free 4-10pm, which is a nice bonus.

Walked in at 1:40 pm Tues July 28 and empty except for one table. There was a male waiter who greeted me and led me into the right side of restaurant and 8 of the tables were filled with dirty dishes. I made comment to the waiter it looked so bad to walk in with all the dirty tables...he made an excuse that 40 min. Ago he had a lot of kids. He never cleaned them..and seated another customer in section by cleaning one table off. I have never been to an eating establishment who would leave all these dirty tables. Don't even know if health depth would accept this. It is now 2:00 pm tables still dirty and no concern whatever. It is not becuz busy. There are now 3 customers

IHOP surprised me this time around. Their restaurant was clean, the servers were kind, and the food was better than I remembered it. My daughter and I shared a 4-stack of strawberry banana pancakes, which were fluffy and large. Our server seemed relatively new, as perceived from his jittery body language and odd 'Ah ha!" moment hand gestures. I ordered 4 links of sausage and he brought me out two. When I asked why, he mentioned something along the lines of thinking that's what I was really asking for. Nope. Bring out the other two please. (BTW, their link sausages are so not worth the price.) Anyway, overall it was an alright experience. I wouldn't seek it out, but if that's where we wind up again on another lazy Sunday afternoon with friends, so be it.

I am not a big fan of IHOP myself, but my kids love them because they discovered pancake syrups can come in four different colors here. I think all of their locations are near replicate with that American diner chain look closely resemble to Village Inn. I have never seen this location busy at all for some reasons. When I compared my experience to another IHOP location I visited, this one seems a bit lacking at the willingness to serve you, and the way they prepare your food. The omelet I got was a bit undercooked and the kids pancake was poor made with just whipped cream slapped on top. I suppose there are alternative locations.

Service was slower than I've had in any establishment in years ... I certainly wasn't expecting it from a big chain like IHOP. This seems to be a BAAAD location, though, based on other reviews. We were sitting for maybe 10-15 minutes before being offered water, let alone had a chance to order. The simple, standard food we ordered took over half an hour, and came out cold and mushy besides. The inattentive serving staff was frustrating ... the place didn't seem terribly busy ... it's just that the staff that was there seemed to spend more time in the back rooms than out on the floor with the customers. It seriously seemed EMPTY except for us and the one other dining party there most of the time. Maybe they're understaffed and have people doing both cooking/cleaning and serving, I don't know. AVOID this IHOP. Even if you like IHOP in general, this location cuts too many corners. Even the food seemed skimpy and lazy compared to other IHOPs I've been to.

The only times we saw the waitress was when we order and got or food. Then the next day we realized she tried to steal money from us. When we went in to try to resolve the issue it took almost half an hour to see the manager. When we finally got to speak with the manager she was very rude. I would never come here again.

Service couldn't have been worse. Server Regan was cute, but disinterested in being there. After food was ordered it was delivered timely. 5 min later check arrived and never saw her again until we paid the check. Had to ask hostess for refills on water/drinks. One order was for all you can eat pancake special - when the waitress never checks on you its hard to order more. I wish I could say it was a busy time but we could see her behind the shoulder height divider talking to other servers. Never going back.

We've been sorely disappointed on our last 2 visits. The first time we walked in and the place was busy and it soon became evident that there was only one server - pretty much every table had no food in front of them, so we got up and left. The 2nd time the place was equally busy but there were more servers - however our (incorrect and incomplete) order still took over 30 minutes to arrive. My side of toast was practically bone dry and seemed like it had been sat under the headlamps for some time, my wife's pancakes didn't arrive for another 10 minutes, and my son's order was wrong. Will not be back in a hurry

My husband and I arrived around 930pm at night and there was a lady mopping the front entrance. We stood by the counter area for awhile waiting to be seated. There was one other family there and that was it. Finally the lady cleaning the floor went back and got someone who seated us and we sat for about 10 minutes until she came back and took our order. We didnt get offered anything to drink or utensils. The server finally came back over and asked us what we wanted. It still took awhile to get our water. We waited over 45 minutes to get our food, meanwhile, other people came in to the restaurant and got served but our food for some reason took forever long. We ran out of water multiple times. Terrible location, I never want to go back to the IHop in Midvale again.

My daughter and her 2 teenage boys and I stopped by on July 4th for brunch. The food was ok but so many other things went wrong that it was one of the worst dining experiences we can remember. Half the building's AC wasn't working and that is where they sat us. On a day where the high was 99 degrees! Our server seemed very distracted and we had to ask multiple times for more water, condiments etc. After waiting for our food for 45 minutes, he then brought 2 entrees and 10 minutes later we finally had to ask for the rest of our food! We found out later that they were short 3 cooks, but they should have warned incoming customers that everything would be delayed. When we complained while paying the bill, there was no offer of a free meal or any kind of compensation. Just excuses. If anything, this made us appreciate the IHOP on State St in Sandy all the more. None of these problems there.

This location gets two stars for service and management. I understand that the weekends are the busiest and I expect there to be a wait time. No problem. 15 minutes and our party was seated. The hostess apologized for the wait. She said they were super busy. The waitress came and took our order in a timely fashion. The wait for the food was 25 minutes. During that timeframe I observed that there was no manager to be seen. Many customers were upset over wait times. The hostess sat everyone at once instead so you had orders stacking up at the grill. When our food arrived the order was incorrect. The waitress apologized and said she would correct it. She never did. She returned with the check 10 minutes later (no exaggeration) and I asked her about the missing items. She apologized again but at that point I was done. Two stars for service and management, 3 stars for food.

No one's rated this one yet? Guess I'll be the first. Keep in mind I'm an out of towner. We stopped by during dinnertime. Their pancakes were a little dry as if left on just a bit too long. The fresh strawberries really helped, for mine. Service was decent but nothing special. She checked on us a few times and brought us our beverages, but that was about it. I wasn't disappointed in the place but it really was nothing special. Average food with the usual small problems (in my case the dry pancakes). I've had IHOPS that do way better.

I'm giving this 2 stars because the manager & server saved this. We wanted breakfast so we went to this location to avoid the heavy traffic from the Sandy Real game. I'm so sorry that we went to this location. There was one couple in there eating when we arrived. Should have been our 1st hint. On to the review - we both ordered the bacon temptation omelet, I wanted mushrooms on mine. Hubby's was okay, mine had NO Bacon & only shrooms on top & the entire inside of the omelet was bare with a little cheese sauce. I showed the server who was very apologetic, she took it to the cook & we hear them arguing. (hmmm) took 1/2 hr for him to make the 1st one. 15 min later the server brings it back & there is bacon, a few shrooms on top & no cheese sauce inside only the bacon. I didn't want to send it back so I asked the server for a side of the sauce. Come on... how hard is it to put together an omelet??? Think about this one - who would order a bacon temptation omelet and say omit the bacon? lol A half an hour to make 2 omelets & a couple pancakes is beyond sad. All the rest of our dinner we could hear the cook making comments in a nasty tone about bacon to the server. That poor girl is being abused by this guy that is the cook. I apologized to her because I felt it was my fault he was being so nasty to her. She said he had been working there awhile when I asked if he was new. She also told us that her manager had to step out & would be back soon. She said that he is that way every time she brings back someone's food. Well, that statement in itself spoke volumes! When the manager came back, she came over & was also very apologetic, professional, and polite. She corrected the bill with my meal & gave us some coupons. (However, they have to be used at that location.) I asked what nights this cook doesn't work there. Wed, Thurs, & Sun. (those are the safe nights to visit this location - although we will more than likely NEVER go back.) What I don't get is why they keep a cook there that #1 cant even cook an omelet correctly on TWO try's but #2 is extremely abusive to his coworkers??? There are too many other people who want a job and would prob. do much better out there. Here's a fact that most people probably don't know - Most convicted felons work in the restaurant business because it is one of the few fields that they don't have to have a background check in. Do you know how many convicted felons Utah has?? I've known this for years but, hearing this guy abuse this poor girl brought it to mind. We tipped this girl 30% because it wasn't her fault & we just felt so bad for her. She was prompt, friendly, professional, & attentive. everything we look for in a server. They will probably lose her because of the uncalled for abuse from the cook. I'm still bothered that this cook was so abusive to that poor server that I may contact corporate to report this yet. We could have done without listening to that!

When you need a place that will satisfy meat-lovers, Veg-heads, and Omnivores alike, There is IHOP! Great place for their namesake, Pancakes! Love their Coffee and their service is great, Try to not go during Weekend Breakfast-time, it's super busy. Their price point is affordable to take the whole family to and a good atmosphere!
