Amazing food and service. Great drink selection. Different sauces to try with the steaks was fun and yummy. And the funeral potatoes definitely get two thumbs up. Great atmosphere. Cost is $$$$ but worth it. It's great to have an awesome steakhouse in the Cottonwood Heights!

Great appetizers. Try the Mac & cheese. Artichokes were also worthwhile. Steaks come with multiple sauces shared by all, nice to change it up as you work through the steak - Gorgonzola sauce was excellent. Good meat. Peach cobbler dessert had a cinnamon cream sauce that was tasty. Ginger mint lemonade was unique and refreshing. Waitress did a fine job. We will be back. Worth noting that we had a group of eight on a Saturday night. Good atmosphere. Looked like there were at least a couple of empty tables through our meal, so it's a fine option if you don't want to have to deal with the traffic and wait times at downtown restaurants.

Hoof & Vine was an unexpected find in the Fort Union area. The dining experience was surprisingly good and the service and food were also very good. My fillet steak appeared overcooked on the surface but was still juicy and flavorful. The macaroni and cheese with crab and bacon was a delicious surprise. My wife enjoyed the salmon. Service was prompt and friendly. Hoof & Vine was a more expensive then I expected but the meal was worth it.

Located in a strip mall in Sandy Utah, there is plenty of free parking. Appropriate attire in my opinion is resort casual for this business but because it's located in a mall, I'm sure they have customers dress in casual attire as well. I had the NY steak, my son the flap steak and my daughter the beef stroganoff. We also had the grilled artichoke appetizer. The artichoke was ok, I mean it's artichoke. Our entrees included a house salad with a blue cheese dressing, a sorbet served before the entree to cleanse your palate and the starch for the steaks were either "funeral" potatoes or red potatoes. The steaks were tender and well cooked and were accompanied by 3 dipping sauces. The funeral potatoes are a shredded potato, in a cream cause, topped with cheese. The beef stroganoff was also very well done. The beef tips in the stroganoff were tender and sauce was delicious. While portions were decent we found ourselves hungry a couple of hour after we had eaten. Our first time trying this restaurant as we were visiting from out of state and had discovered this restaurant from social media reviews, I would recommend this restaurant.

The rib eye is to die for (and we eat a lot of rib eye). Best rib Eye I've ever had. Amazing food. Awesome service. Things are done right here! The crab Mac n cheese is overrated. It's not that good. You can't see the crab meat let alone taste it. Don't waste your money. We got the shrimp and crab appetizers, they were amazing.

We've been to H&V twice now. On both occasions we've had a very good meal and good service. However both times the kitchen was extremely SLOW! The restaurant wasn't necessarily crowded but the wait after ordering was excessive in my opinion. So be prepared to wait 40 min or longer. BTW- they do have valet parking by the movie theatre as many businesses have signs prohibiting parking in front of their stores.

Everything was awesome! Kobe top flap w/surf and turf is my favorite meal these days!

Well cooked steaks that are served with a salad and veggies. Choice of baby potatoes or funeral potatoes, both were well flavored. My daughter ordered the lobster mac and cheese which was delicious and came with a decent portion for the price. My only complaint was the price was pretty steep and the decor could have been less sparse and industrial.

Another awesome night thanks to Hoof & Vine!!! We dined Friday evening with another couple and once again, the food was amazing and you can see that the owners have taken an extra step to take the ambiance up a notch!!! We started with our favorite, the Mac & Cheese as well as the sautéed mushrooms, beef tartare and asparagus. Yummy!!!! We all had different entrees, I personally had the 16 ounce ribeye which was cooked to absolute perfection!! We sat at a table with a half booth and half chairs by a beautiful tile wall with an interesting tree branch hanging in it. It was a quiet and comfortable table, and the restaurant has hung some new curtains since our last visit that make you forget that right outside is a busy parking lot and movie theater. Hoof & Vine is quickly becoming one of our family's favorite dinner spots.

I think a friend summed it up best when he said, "I doubt this place will be open in six months." We went on a Wednesday night. My friend wanted to make a reservation for 6:00, but the earliest we could get was 7:00. When we showed up at 7:00, the place was empty. Weird, but whatever. They had a $30 special that included five courses, so most of the table got that. One of options for the first course was a shrimp ceviche. What came out was literally one shrimp sliced into five slices. Second course: "salad" which was comprised of four whole lettuce leaves stacked on each other and two dressing options: blue cheese or balsamic. Can we please get over the weird deconstructed salad thing and just serve lettuce cut into bite sized pieces? And why not a few more dressing options? The main course, salmon was fine. Overall, it wasn't bad but also wasn't worth going back for.

Not what I expected from the owners of Tiburon. Perhaps if it wasn't so spendy , I would give it another star. In our case, we had a not so good booth. Right next to the busy, noisy kitchen. The lay out with the booths lining the only entrance to the kitchen took away any obviance. Felt like a diner. Sensed a bad experience, when it took several awkward minutes to even get a greeting from man (presumed host) He then ordered, another man, very hastily, to seat us, and told us the only table open was terrible. We should have waited. Salads were wonderful. But, both of our entrees were down right tough. The server was nice, but seemed overwhelmed. Had to season my stroganoff with a bunch of salt and pepper to taste it. The meat was very over cooked. Id give it another try, but the prices are way to high, and the atmosphere is to diner-Isq to take s chance .

The food was amazing! I had a steak, salad, potatoes and carrot cake for dessert. Everything was delicious. They also served some home made potato chips that were very tasty. Our server was Adele and she was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and wines, etc. I'm excited to go back and try their new lunch menu!

We had a party of 7 and dined without a budget. The wine menu was decent and we enjoyed a couple bottles of Pinot... I had the bone in Ribeye and loved every single bite. The funeral potatoes weren't my favorite but the steak made up for it. We tried all of the desserts and the group agreed the peach cobbler was the best. I will be back for sure.

Great food and amazing service! I also love the sister restaurants! Highly recommend the wine and beer pairings they offer now and again.

Great steaks and wine list! New place owned by the same people that own Tiburon. Been there twice and both times the servers were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Highly recommend.

Very underwhelmed - we started with the Mac and cheese. It came out cold and all we could taste was the bacon. The house salad was a weird mix of blue cheese and red cabbage. We were informed as we ordered that the steaks were served "dry" with a trio of sauces, and dry they were. Even ordering the steak medium rare with no sauce of accompaniments it was very blah. The roasted potatoes were desperately needing salt. To top it off the waitresses perfume was so overwhelming that every time she came to the table I had to hold my breathe. The best part of the night was the green apple sorbet as a pallet cleanser... Stick to Wild Rose across the valley!!

Lots to like here. Excellent service and great New York Strip steak. This restaurant is a breath of fresh air in an area with few upper end eateries. Although the steaks are pricey, the entrees come with salad and sides. More than you can say about Ruth Chris or Flemmings. This place quickly became one of our favorites.

Pretty good place for dinner. Came for New Years and had an amazing steak. One of the best I've had in the valley but that was only a special and you can't get it regularly. I think the place is generally a little over priced. The food is excellently prepared but is on par with many other fine eating establishments in the valley. The menu selections for sides are a little on the slim side but not too bad. The wait staff the last time we went seemed too light and our waiter was rushed and didnt have time to adequately attend to the tables he was assigned. We waited for 15 minutes for him to return to us after taking our drink order before taking our dinner order and someone else had to bring out the meal. He checked on us only once so we had to flag down someone to get some more hot water for my tea once I ran out. It was a decent experience but nothing uber special. You can spend the same $ at other places and have a nicer experience. I would say if you are in the area and looking for a good meal, it can be had here. Just didnt knock my socks off, especially for the price.

I'm not sure why there are so many five stars. Maybe because people don't get out much in Utah? Just a guess. My experience was an okay experience. Nothing to tell friends about. When I walked in, the place reminded me of a diner trying to look upscale. Also, the only real pictures on the walls are two huge pictures of cow heads staring you in the face. It was a little creepy trying to eat a steak with cows staring at you. Maybe some vineyard pics would be a better choice? The food was good. Not great, but good. We all three got steaks and each one of them were done to the perfect temperature. That was a bonus! It comes with a salad, Tiburon's is WAY BETTER and a side of starch. My son got the funeral potatoes which were HORRIBLE! Overcooked, dry and no flavor at all! How can you mess up funeral potatoes? They are so easy to make!! I got the side of red potatoes. There is a funny taste to them. Old water maybe? The steak though was pretty good. Not awesome, write home to your family good, but good nonetheless. So overall, I won't be going back, but it wasn't a horrible experience.

Salad was decent. Steak was horrible. No flavor whatsoever. They need to have a better wine selection for a steak house. Not impressed.

Overall I liked Hoof & Vine and would most likely go back. It was a little pricier than I expected but still good. The sashimi appetizer was so close to being amazing, but the fish itself was fishy and the soy sauce and other items helped to mask it, but I'd much rather get sashimi at the sushi place next door. The sorbet was so good. The salad was pretty good, but the dressing was a little tart (honey balsalmic, I should have had the blue cheese). The service was excellent and the funeral potatoes were amazing. Very convenient location next to the movie theatre.

I was lucky enough to attend the soft opening tonight. The food, staff, and the actual restaurant were just amazing! Everyone was extremely friendly and professional. The steak was the best I have ever had. Do yourself a favor and try Hoof and Vine!

After finding out that this place has a relation to Tiburon we had to try it out. Service was great, menu was pretty pricey for what you get. The goat cheese and tomatoes was superb, perfectly ripened tomatoes with balsamic vinegar dressing. Both salads had great flavor with fresh greens. The weird part was on my beef wellington where instead of cooking the steak in the middle they put the puff pastry on the side and filled it with mushrooms. I think we will come back and stick to what is good and stay away from the oddball items.

On a slow night, why seat couples back to back in the booths? The people behind me were SO LOUD I didn't bother having a conversation with my husband, theirs was all-encompassing. The food is pricey and the selection is small. I mentioned the seating choice and noise to the guy at the front desk, he said the kitchen is really noisy and guests don't like sitting in the booths closest to it. You could turn up the music a bit for ambience. Or take a look at adding something to quiet the sound.

I was there recently (Saturday 8/29 - 6:00 pm) and was sooooo disappointed in their food. I have been here before and love their food. I had the shrimp appetizer - ceviche style. The shrimp was rock hard. For the entre, I ordered the stroganoff. It was very disappointing. No taste, very bland. I hope I just happened to catch them on a bad day. It may be a while before I return. :(

Better than Outback, but at 3x the cost, why would you go? Sitting in a strip mall next to a movie theater isn't attractive. We ordered 3 NY steaks medium rare @ $40 ea. All three were unseasoned, rather thin, and barely pink. They provide 3 dipping sauces. *You don't need dipping sauce for a good steak!* Granted, we went early on a Monday, but we were the only seated table in the restaurant! First clue. They have a display of hundreds of nice Wine bottles, but the menu only has 8 cheap reds. I asked our server for the manager's list (presuming), but was told the "display is of good wines brought in from customers". They don't have any. Oh how I yearn for a decent steak and cab in the south Valley. Unfortunately, if you want a good steak, you still need to venture downtown SLC. Try Ruth's Chris, Spencer's, or Flemmings.

Fabolous cuts here. Pricey for sure but there are always some special going on. Their facebook page has all of the info. The wine list is also pretty nice. This is definitely a date night kind of place.

The three of us were in the mood for a great steak; unfortunately we never made reservations. So thanks to Yelp we found a new restaurant, 'Hoof and Vine'. We arrived just before 8:00 on Saturday night and were seated within five minutes. Our server greeted us within a few minutes and we started our feast. My daughter had the 6 oz tenderloin, her friend had the 16 oz bone in rib eye - both were surf and turf, and I had the lamb. We also had the famous mac n' cheese...everything was great. Our experience was exceptional, including our attentive server Adelle...be sure to ask to sit in her area.

Nice and quite restaurant. Steaks are good and great sides served with a nice salad. The salad had great presentation.

After unsuccessful attempts to make reservations at six of our favorite restaurants on the night before Valentine's Day, we rolled the dice on this new place that could still accommodate a simple party of two. Boy, are we glad that our old standby favorites were booked, because we found a little gem of a place at the Hoof & Vine. The sautéed mushrooms appetizer was great and perfectly paired with the complimentary bread and assortment of toppings. The house salad with blue cheese dressing was a perfect prelude to our main courses, which were preceded by a delicious palate cleansing orange sorbet. For dinner I chose the bone-in ribeye, and my adorable wife opted for the beef stroganoff. I am told the stroganoff was wonderful, but frankly I've gotta just trust my wife's word on that because I couldn't afford to spare any stomach room--my steak was just too good! In Utah, it can be difficult to find a place that actually cooks a steak the way you ordered it. However, this place nailed it! My medium rare ribeye was cooked to perfection! All told, this was a great meal, and now we've gotta clear a space on our favorites list to make room for the Hoof & Vine. We'll be back!

The cheese tray we ordered was simple and just okay. The salad was a bit disappointing. We enjoyed our entrees. (my husband ordered the New York steak and I had the Kobe). The side dishes of funeral potatoes and steamed vegetables were also good. We had great service. The atmosphere was underwhelming. This would be a four star review had our check been $20 less. We have absolutely no problem spending money on a great meal but despite the food and service being overall favorable we couldn't justify the cost.

This was really a great experience! The food was better then I expected it to be!! We got the Mac & Cheese with BACON and crab to start and that was my favorite part of the meal. It was amazing, I don't think I've ever ate anything that tasted better in my life! The salad was ok, not a huge fan of blue cheese, but it was presented well. The pallet cleanse was really cool, tasted like a orange from Mexico! The steak, AMAZING!!! I got the New York Strip and the wife got the sirloin. Each was cooked perfectly, we did medium on each steak and it was delicious. The flavor was so great, we didn't want to dip it in any sauce. I left very satisfied with the evening and it was it was a great way to spend my birthday! Our waitress Adelle was so nice and very knowledgeable. She made the evening very enjoyable and she never made us feel rushed. She was great at giving us time, filling our drinks and making us feel comfortable. We will be back again! Thanks for an awesome night!

Beautiful new restaurant in the union heights area. Had the crab Mac and cheese for an appetizer which was heaven. And the fish for dinner while my Husband got the prime rib. Both were delectable! Service was great. No complaints!

Hoof and Vine. The name holds such promise. I envisioned an expansive wine selection, unique cuts of meat, sexy and edgy ambiance. In reality, the experience was sad. The decor is open and had a warehouse feel. It did not appear upscale or trendy, IMHO. The wine list was on the small side but they did have bottles that were priced well. The menu really didn't strike a cord for me. I have said it before, but let me reiterate, I don't mind paying for a great meal, but it better live up to the price tag. The prices here are very high and unfortunately, the quality didn't match. We had the shrimp and steak tartare. The shrimp was served cold and it was average at best. The tartare was probably my favorite thing of the evening. For entrees, there was the filet and pork tenderloin. The pork was a sad plate of medallions with not much flavor. The chimichurri definitely didn't have the acidic quality that would have complimented the meat. It was grainy and not very flavorful. The filet was cooked perfectly and had a nice taste. But the dishes were served with your typical stalk of broccoli and carrot. Just blah! We tried the mac and cheese and it was also, just ok. The smoky taste overpowered the dish for us and the bacon was soft, making for an unpleasant textural experience. Our server was very pleasant and very good. It just feels like the place doesn't know what it is supposed to be. Perhaps this area needs more options so it will succeed, but I definitely don't feel the need to return.

What a GREAT place! Best steak I've ever had (Kobe!), unbelievable veggies (asparagus), a great wine selection, perfect accommodating friendly staff in a minimalist but cool environment. I've been to Ruth's Chris and Hoof and Vine is better by far. Yes, it's pricey but you really do get what you pay for and in this case .. Much more. The house salad was very minimal but the Caesar was amazing. No, I'm not exaggerating and I'm not related in any way. The only ding is that the place was empty on a Thursday night but my beautiful wife and I had the place to ourselves so I can't complain.
