I just sat through the worst example of customer service in the mainstream restaurant industry that I've ever experienced. Beginning with waiting several minutes to even be seated, our server seemed to have listening issues. He brought a drink we did not order, which we agreed to absorb it out of a desire to be good-natured, and split it between 2 of our checks and agreed to share it. No proactive offer from the waiter to try to make things right with that ... we solved it ourselves and saved him the trouble. Fast forward to getting our food, and we had an Incomplete order come out for someone in our party ... it was missing the biggest, most important side. When we asked our server about the missing side. he claimed the entree didn't come with the side. We were forced to argue with him and eventually went back up front to retrieve a menu just so we could prove to him by pointing out the actual text on the item that the meal should have come with the side. He then brought the side, but wound up charging it as an extra item on our final check. At that point, we had to seek out a manager and argue with her to finally get the final bill accurate. The manager felt like her job was done after several minutes of debate when she adjusted the bill to be accurate. No offer of doing anything extra to apologize for wasting our time and ruining our dinner by requiring us to jump through hoops of fire for most of the experience just to get what we ordered and to be charged the right price for it. In fact, we never heard an apology even verbally! Both server and manager appeared to be annoyed and put out more than apologetic. Neither demonstrated a willingness to help or admit any fault. Not only will we never be going to this location again ... we will never so much as set foot into another Chili's. I hope failing to comp the screwed up meal was worth all the lost dollars from our potential repeat business, guys.

It's a chain, and while some of the offerings are tasty, the fare is u exciting at best. Enough said.

Marinara was cold for appetizer, just like last time. My chipotle chicken tenders were very poorly coated. Bartender who took our order was very polite. We sat very close to the kitchen sounded like a zoo shit show going on in there. I've never seen so many employees come out and sit at the bar while in uniform and obviously on the clock. This place is one of those stops to make late at night because nothing else is open. Wish they would clean the store up

The food is good. But they just screwed up the menu. WHO GETS RID OF CAESAR SALAD?! REALLY? The most conjoined salad ever and they removed it from the menu. Who ever was in charge of changing the menu needs to be fired. Also the Monterey chicken just got taken off too. This is a sad day for this franchise.

I have purposely stayed away from this location for some time now due to awful service, however today we stopped in and I'm so glad we did. Chris our server was so awesome, not only to us but everyone in the bar area. He even changed one of the tv channels to accommodate a mother with small kids with her. He was very attentive. Very polite but not stuffy. He was a real person with us. Food was perfect. Drinks never got below half. Awesome job at changing my opinion of this location.

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I ordered a simple soup and salad. After 45 minutes the brought me cold soup and salad with half the ingredients that were on the menu. I sent it back and the manager came out to tell me they had run out of those items and instead of just saying they were out they hoped we wouldn't notice. Everyone that ate chicken at the table ended up sick. Be warned!!!

Not too much to say about Chili's. Okay food, a little overpriced. This place has a convenient location though, and it's not too crowded at lunch time! They have some good portions for lunch specials - all around $8 - $15. Not too bad but I can get healthier, yummier food at other places, instead of greasy sandwiches/burgers or fatty, cheesy soups!

I'm not a fan of many franchise restaurants to start. The positive about Chili's? You will get essentially the same thing, regardless of what location you're at. This place gets a one star for the following reasons: 1.) Dirty tables, plates, and more 2.) We had to wait 20 minutes (not a big deal) to be seated in the most frigid of areas. The restaurant is poorly designed and the booths by the take-out section are not blocked off at all. So, when it is say, 25 degrees outside, it is 25 degrees inside as well. We asked to be moved - and were told there was a wait. Really? Didn't we just wait? If I wanted to sit outside, there would have been no wait. Did I mention we had a small baby with us and you'd think there would be some consideration? All of the patrons around us were complaining as well. 3.) Their food is not what I would call fresh. While I do enjoy their queso, the chips weren't fried long enough. We got the lava cake (which I used to really like) and it was gross and didn't even taste like chocolate. Food fail, service fail, heating fail. Shouldn't one expect heat as a basic service in the middle of winter - in Utah?

Went to Chili's today with some co-workers for lunch. I hadn't been to Chili's for a long time and was interested in seeing how it had changed. Inside the restaurant was much as I remember it, lots of booths and tables, a bar, and plenty of space for lots of people. The menu was much different from what I remembered, they have TONS of different food, and really try to cater to just about everyone's appetite: burgers and steaks, salads, soups, tacos, seafood, and much more! I ordered the grilled ham and swiss sandwich with fries and a cup of the chicken enchilada soup. To wash it all down I had raspberry-strawberry lemonade. When the food came it looked pretty good and I dug in. The sandwich tasted good but was awfully greasy. I think they must have really buttered the bread up before toasting because it was literally dripping oil. Despite the greasy/oilyness, it was still pretty good. The soup tasted pretty good but was really cheesy and thick, which I didn't much like. By no fault of Chili's really, I think I ordered the wrong thing. Service was excellent, our waitress was super friendly, she always had a big smile and kept our stomachs happy.

Chili's is our restaurant of choice when we can't figure out where else to go. It's close, the food is good, and they have something for everyone. I do find it a little odd, however, that they seem to include bacon in every dish. I know bacon is all the rage right now, and don't get me wrong, I do like bacon but I don't know that it's an essential ingredient in tacos.

This location had a great bartender, I didnt order any drinks but he was a great server, very nice and hospitable. Atmosphere is casual and family friendly and clean. I got the crispy chipotle crispers w fried and corn on the cob...I love the crispers, they're crispy, sweet and have a tiny kick. You get a lot of food, so the price of $10 is justified.

I think I have said this when I did another review of Chili's? They are probably my favorite chain restaurant. I always order the chips and queso. It is a must when coming here. And I have probably ordered almost everything off the menu at some point or another. I enjoy the shaken at your table margaritas. Always a must when eating here. I will be back for sure.

I got a gift card from my parents so we decided to check out Chili's here on Fort Union for the first time. It's not normally a place we would go to but hey like I said we had a gift card. The waitress was nice and the hostess informed us as we were sitting that food wait times were a little longer than normal since they were having an issue in the kitchen. My wife and I decided to get the 2 for $20 offer. We both got 1/2 rack and fries. I ordered the Bock ribs and she ordered original. When the food came to the table the waitress didn't know which order of ribs was which and to be honest we couldn't decided either. The ribs were so overcooked the meat cracked because it was so dry. We sent it back and decided to get soup and salad and a order of the bacon ranch quesadilla's which were fine. Not a very great experience for us.

Our favorite restaurant is always close by, whenever we're hungry and want to give our taste buds a treat! We love to take friends with us because we always have such a fun time with great service and fabulous food. As soon as you walk into Chili's you feel like you're joining the party and greeting old friends. We especially enjoy the "Two for $20 Menu" -- I love the Quesadilla Explosion Salad and my husband always gets the ribs, then we share! It's a terrific value and always such a nice, friendly atmosphere!

Chilis is Chilis. Does anyone really review this place based on food or do they just share a good or poor experience? The food is good, the service was alright. My waiter was one of those servers that doesn't want to write down the orders, probably because he's been doing this job too long and feels pretty confident about his trade. But... He got 3 of our drinks wrong and was constantly forgetting things. Like limes, ketchup, oh and to refill the drinks. Another server and the manager helped him out. We had an 8 top table, so we were a decent sized group. Chilis isn't my favorite. Mostly because you'll stink like the food for the rest of the day. But overall it's usually a safe bet.

It wasn't very busy on a Monday night. Several games were on the TVs. We requested a booth and there were a few available. The bathroom was a little messy. I ordered four sliders. They were good--mini burgers topped with chopped bacon, American cheese, grilled onions, pickles and ranch dressing with soft buns. Great fries, but only enough to last for one burger. My husband had the shrimp fajitas. There were several toppings--grated cheese, guacamole, salsa, sour cream, etc. but no beans. Basic food. Good waiter.

During pretty much all of our holidays to the US, at least once or twice we will stop at Chilli's :) We really like the food and almost always it has good food and service. This time however, we were not too happy with the service. We had some people sitting on the other side who came later but got their food quite a bit earlier than us. Also the staff was not too friendly/attentive. We normally love the service compared the lack of service we typically have in Holland, but this night we were reminded more of holland....

It was late in the evening..we drove the whole way from down south to park city and then to Midvale so we decided to have a quick dinner with some margaritas. It is a regular Chili's venue..expect regular decor and menu. We decided to go with a special deal - 2 main courses and starter to share for 20 dollars. Whenever I am around in US I expect a really good service compared to service we get here in the Netherlands but I was unpleasantly surprised with a very mediocre service. Waiter didnt pay too much attention to us and after asking him where our appetizer was he said that it was very busy in the kitchen..I understand busy...but I dont understand how 2 other couple who came later than we did, got their appetizer (same one) before us...The food was ok in the end, but there are tons of places with better service to choose from.

Fort Union Chili's used to be the spot. They have made commendable strides in an effort to stay relevant. However, I can't help but wonder if it was all necessary. Did anyone ever stop going to Chili's? I don't remember the last time I came to Chili's and didn't have to wait. Frist, I love what they've done to the bar. They added better TVs, upgraded the lighting and got rid of the nasty bathroom tile tabletops. Now if they would just change the channel to the game you want to watch... I still can't decide how I feel about the new tablet-like system placed at every table. I think it is more of an advertising distraction than anything. You can now play games (for a sneaky fee), order food, and pay your bill at the table. The downside is less human interaction. The upside is you don't have to try to track down your waiter for the bill. I'm a bit puzzled by the new menu. They are going with a "fresh" theme. The staff is even wearing t-shirts that say "fresh is happening." Personally, I have noticed a steady decline in the overall quality of the food at Chili's. They still have most of the favorite menu items, but they just don't taste as good. With the new shift you can expect smaller portions and slightly higher prices. The "fresh" aspect seems to translate to fresh produce and it stops there. They have added bolder seasonings, fresh lettuce, lots of fresh onions, and even artisan dill pickles. Consequently, this spin is more like putting lipstick on a pig as the meat, appetizers, and desserts are all noticeably frozen, precooked, and re-heated. Chili's burgers used to be delicious and juicy. It was hard to find a better burger even at a steakhouse. Now they offer a bigger variety of burgers with lots of things on them, but the quality of the meat can be found in the freezer section of your grocery store in the preformed patties. The boneless wings are one of my all-time favorites. This time they tasted like the Friday's wings from the grocery store. Again, there is more variety and new swanky sauces, but the quality is gone. Our latest visit to Chili's made me sad. Fortunately, this was the first time ever that no one around me ordered the fajitas which always assault my nostrils and embed my clothing with an unwelcome and strangely lingering wreak. Sadly, my aromatic victory was doused by the somber realization that the go-to consistently reliable Chili's will now only be found in fond memories. Good thing there's still chips n salsa!

So my husband and I came here because we live across the street. The service sucked and food was mediocre. But we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and go back. And again, the same situation. So we thought the third time was the charm. This time, we did take out. I got the appetizer triple dipper with the buffalo wings, chicken crispers and the sliders. I asked for ranch and honey mustard. We got our good and my crispers were cooked waaaay too long. My sliders buns were so burnt I had to rip off the edges and instead of the sauces I asked for I got blue cheese and ranch. At least I got my ranch right? So we will never be returning here. And just like any other chain, they could care less.

Great dinner last night. They are really stepping up the menu and without stepping up the prices. I had smoked wings for appetizer and they were tasty! Nice cold beer and I was happy.

I like chili's, but this one is a bit busy and loud. The service is slow (probably because its busy), the tables seem sticky a couple of times I have been here, and I have had better food at other chili's.

We always go to this chili's and it's always amazing food and service. Even with that said this experience topped them all. Andrew is awesome, if you have a choice, make sure to get seated in his section. He was attentive but not overbearing or pushy and made sure to take care of us (even on a busy Saturday night). We'll definitely be back.

Horrible experience!! The waiter continued to mess up our order and never apologized once but then charged us for food we didn't order. We complained to the manager and she was just as unhelpful and even yelled at me! Never ever going here or any chillis ever again!

Please! Use less salt on your chips. We always have to rub the excess salt off the chips and it's still too much.

Having experienced an unfortunate bout of food poisoning from the Layton location, I had written off chili's. After work, my wife had a craving and I timidly agreed to follow along. I'm happy that I did. within 15 minutes of walking through the front door we were already eating. It almost felt like a fast food place, but the food was good. Not just tasty, but spot hittingly good. I had enchiladas & my wife had fajitas. Food came out hot and fast. Susie, our server was waiting on quite a few tables around us, but she was definitely in her element. Drinks were always full and she seemed to sense what we needed before we knew we needed it. She needs a raise.

Not a big fan of chains but pretty good food. The 2 for $20 is awesome and comes with an appetizer. The ribs are tasty, not meaty but taste great. Hamburgers are really good too. Also the half order of chicken fried steak is huge!!!! Pretty impressed for the most part. Service can be hit or miss depending on the time of day you come. I much rather come here then cheesecake factory, same food but cheaper and no wait!

Well, I have recently learned that the cool thing is to love local and hate chain...ha ha. This is all news to me... So, I dig Chili's. I always get the skillet queso with bottomless chips & salsa. And the fajitas. Yum-o. The waiters at this location generally seem to be better than the others. Diet Coke never runs low. Crowds aren't too crazy. Pulling in to this shopping center from Ft. Union is always a bit of a zoo, bit parking's reasonable. So, yeah. Chili's is tasty. EVEN THOUGH IT'S CHAIN ha ha.

I almost always order the Crispy Honey-Chipotle Chicken Crispers, with french fries, and instead of corn on the cob, I always substitute for something my kids will probably like (cinnamon baked apples, mashed potatoes, etc.). These chicken crispers have a sticky sauce, and they are served with ranch dressing (order extra dressing...promise). But, they are delicious! I also usually order a tall Bud Light. The food is reasonably priced, we almost never have to wait, and although the wait staff doesn't generally write down what we order (something I totally cannot stand), they usually get it right. :) They have a nice kids menu, with many healthy choice options, pages to color, and they provide crayons. As we were pulling in...we noticed Buffalo Wild Wings just opened across the street...almost changed our minds and went there instead. Except we looked at the ratings on Yelp...and Buffalo Wild Wings only has 2 stars...so, we stuck with Chili's.

I came to this Chilis tonight with my wife and our 2 year old son. For the record Chilis is not the place I like to eat, whenever it's brought up I always suggest surrounding places. This all changed tonight. There was a wait unless we wanted to sit in the bar area and with a 2 year old it's eat quick and get out (parents will understand). We were seated and our server took our appetizer order and got us drinks. He brought my son a drink half full of water and a lid, which he said "something for the little guy" that move alone let me know we were in good hands. Once you put a drink in front of a toddler and he sees it there is no taking it back, it being half full was great because half goes on the table. He saw my son was starting to scream and I pulled out my phone for him to play a game, the server asked me if I wanted him to play a game on the new payment screen on each table and I was shocked it had games on it (was a buck) but it was the first time we were able to order food and eat our entire meal for only a buck lol. I went for the steak fajitas Cadillac style and I was blown away by the taste. I was literally in shock with this visit to Chilis. The service was remarkable and the food was better than I've ever had at Chilis. I will defiantly be returning and sitting in Dominic's section. Also I don't know if they trained the staff to deal with children, but that really means a lot. The food runners even kept the plates out of reach, which seems like common sense but you'd be surprised at servers sometimes putting hot dishes and glass right in front of children.

This is fairly decent chilies for lunch time service. However, in the evening, they just can't seem to get it right. Slow service and cold food is delivered many times and the food isn't as tasty as it is at lunchtime. I have spoken with management about the evening service a couple of times and although they make promises it never gets any better. I have been patronizing this particular restaurant location for many years and as I said lunch is decent, evening meals are a disappointment.

We went twice in the same week and had very similar experiences. First the hostesses are terrible here. We weren't greeted or sat down for at least 5 minutes. At this point I was already a little frustrated. Then the service was decent. The food took a little long to come out and then when it came out it was cool both visits. The first time I got the honey chipotle chicken crispers and my fries and my crispers where both cool. The second time I got a burger and the bun on the bottom was still slightly cold and the burger all around was barely luke warm. Then I walked to the restroom and there was an entry to the kitchen right next to the walkway with chip bins open and on the floor that were too close to the walk way. Made me really wonder if that is how they take care of their chips then how do they take care of the food. The food was quite disappointing compared to other chilis.

Food is what it is, pretty good for a chain. I use to like their old menu better, I think they changed it about 3-4 yrs ago and they changed some of their recipes, so I don't frequent them as much as we use to. Also the chips and queso are not consistant, sometime REALLY spicy and other times, just right! It a great place when you are in a pinch for dinner and want to go out. Love the 2 for $20 deal execpt they now charge extra for the Queso.

    (4)
  • Jaime B.

I always have a great experience at Chili's, and this particular location is usually no different. The chips and queso is always my very favorite item on the menu. I have just one complaint. The "Parmesan-crusted steak" is not really crusted with parmesan. Mine came with such a small amount of parmesan dropped on top of my steak, I could hardly taste it. Chili's is a great choice, but just be fore-warned. If you thought the Parm-crusted steak sounded good, think twice. Go for the cheddar-bacon steak instead.

  • Tony L.

My take on this place is in consensus with other who reviewed this place before me, as I do feel this Fort Union Chili is slightly better than their other locations in town. The service always seems to be better here especially when you run into problems. Lately there are always these check-in offers from either Yelp or other check-in services, and they seems to on top of those offer as well, while other locations still do not have a clue of what a "check-in offer" is... Food quality is not so much different when you compare them with the other locations. I usually go with whatever sounds good on menu or whichever has a nice picture that day. There was only one time that a piece of "debris" falls into the food, and the manager handle the situation very well afterward. Ask for "Brandon" if you come here on Saturday, he's a very good server that takes good care of you ;)

Great experience. Had the $6 lunch combo; salad, 1/2 ham & swiss and fries. Plenty of food and price is right. Service excellent! My server, Linz, was polite, friendly, smiled when she spoke to me and just pleasant to be around.
