Chuck-a-rama was part of my "loneliest Thanksgiving ever" yesterday, and you know, it was pretty good. The restaurant itself was insanely busy. The parking lot was packed and spilled over into an adjoining lot, and there was a line to the door. The wait to be seated was 30 minutes. NOT the meeting place for friendless orphans I thought it would be at all, instead an apparent haven for families who do not want to cook. The buffet was loaded with all the favorites. Great stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, and fresh, warm rolls. They were carving turkey from a loaf, which was a little disappointing, though I suppose it isn't feasible to cook enough actual turkeys for that kind of crowd. The pumpkin pie was gross. Drinks are located on the buffet, perfectly accessible by patrons, but the waitresses prefer to bring them to you, perhaps to legitimize their role and earn tips. Buffet meals are not usually my favorite, but in this instance it was perfect. Even though I couldn't be with my family yesterday, it was nice to gorge myself on the traditional holiday fare.

A good solid three stars. This is a good place to go when people are wanting different foods. You can have pizza, fried chicken, fish, pasta, and all kinds of sides. There's a big fresh salad bar too. We happened to visit during corn season. They had signs that said they were serving locally grown corn. That day, we got to eat fresh bicolor sweet corn on the cob. It was delicious! Way to support the local growers, Chuck! My favorite part is choosing from the different drinks, like whipped drinks and ICEEs. Those drinks turn out to be pricy for what I'm paying for lunch.

Now everyone has had a moment where they were so hungry that they are willing to eat anything, am I right? Well I suggest not making Chuck-A-Rama an option. I had one of these experiences recently and I do not know if it was just the location or the possibility of building the food up in my head, either way it did not live up to expectations. I would give this place zero stars but the waitress was nice and made sure I was alright frequently so she earned the restaurant a star. Now I am sure you are wondering, what is so terrible about this place? Well the number one thing a restaurant should be good for, the food. The options were limited around dinner time (you would think the busiest time of the day), the food tasted stale, and overall the food just made my taste buds wanna scrape themselves out. Personally I rather watch another terrible installment of Spider Man starring Tobey Maguire than eat here ever again but the choice is yours.

This is one of my favorite restaurants but the management is horrible. The General Manager Brad Peterson treated my husband and I like garbage by accusing us of stealing. When I proved that was untrue by showing him the spot he said we were stealing food, he just continued to treat us like garbage instead of apologizing. When I contacted the main headquarters about this, they avoided us for several weeks and finally told us they think he did nothing wrong. Not even an apology!! Unbelievable. I was told by several other sources that this manager has mistreated people many times. I guess Chuck-A-Rama thinks they have enough customer base that they don't concern themselves with customer service. Good luck here.

It's really nice inside. Very inviting. Food is good. Just not a lot of options regarding how much you pay to eat there. But all in all it's good.
