Yucky! We ate here for lunch today. They were serving yesterdays rice, it was crunchy. My burrito was filled with the smallest amount of beans, and the taco looked like the shell came from a box. My husband didn't finish his plate either. It was terrible, don't go there! Try Mi Ranchito instead.

As bad as Mexican can get. Low quality ingredients, lousy service, bad taste and sad ambience. This place had it all.

We ate here because someone recommended it. I had seen the negative reviews so my expectations were very low. The food was bland, boring and covered with too much cheese. The portions are small and leave you not wanting more. My Chimicanga looked like a toaster strudle on the outside and tasted worse. We will not be going back.

So bad. Half a star for the chips and salsa and half a star for portion sizes. That's it. The shrimp enchilada was just not good. The cheese smothering the flour tortilla wrapped around plain old shrimp was really plastic tasting. It was the worst shrimp enchilada I have ever tried to eat.

One star for the chips and salsa but even that is being very generous. This place will nickel and dime you for everything! You want beans that's more, rice... more, meat $3 more, and cheese that's $2 more. So your 8 dollar platter ends up costing you 13 and you're way better off going to del taco for 3 for $1 tacos. Their ground beef is the same quality. Save your tongue and your time and pass this place up

Horrible service will trump good food every time. Food is actually very tasty but the hostess and server were rude and unhelpful. Any and all substitutions are $1.70 each but that is not posted anywhere on the menu. They refused to accept our coupon on our phone because they've had issues with their cashiers taking money out of the register and saying someone had a coupon when they didn't. I suggested they fire their cashier rather than punish their customers. They didn't seem to think that was worthwhile feedback. Needless to say I will not be returning. Again good was alright. Service was a joke.

Ok. So this has to be the worst Mexican food ever. It was about as bad as you could imagine. I just left 5 min ago and my stomach is already turning. I have a job interview tomorrow so hopefully it stays down.

Eat here once a week. As far as we are concerned, there is only 1 thing on the menu: Chili Verde burrito smothered with cheese and onions. The chili verde is made from scratch everyday. The tortillas are made from scratch. The chips are fantastic and the chunky salsa is off the hook. (Have to ask for that specifically) Not fantastic environment, and not the worlds best service, but a burrito that keeps us coming back each week.

The salsa is good, and that's the best I can say. The taco came in the kind of shell you'd get from a box off the shelf in the supermarket. Sheesh. The "shredded" beef was in giant chunks, and the meal was just not flavorful. I'd cut them some slack if the service had been decent, but it was poor and the waiter was inattentive. I know it's hard to find good Mexican food in Utah, but do yourself a favor and don't even bother trying this one.

Fresh-tasting food, decent service, and fair prices. Overall, an above-average Mexican place. I enjoyed our dinner at La Fountain more than my last trip to Mi Ranchito, for example. The kids' meals aren't too pricey, but they don't come with much either.

Horrible service and horrible food. My first time writing any kind of review...it was that bad

This is your typical fried and greasy mexican food. Sometimes you just wanna have that, and it's not bad. The food is good, just don't expect to stay on your diet. They added a new salsa which is not my favorite but it is much better than the spicy sauce they had before.

I have been going here for years and always use the coupons they have in the different calendars and mailers over the years. I always get the large combination because it is a good amount of food for $9. My friend and I both got the same thing and used the coupon "Buy one get one free UP TO $10." Well, to me this means they will take any amount off UP TO $10 and not something that is $9. Well when they rang us up they took off $3 the first time. I asked the cashier why not $10 and he said he would go ask his manager. He came back and said he could take off $6, but not $9. We asked why not the $9 that each meal cost. He said it was his manager who made the decision and she only spoke Spanish so that's what it had to be. I asked the server if she could talk with the manager and she said yes. She then just went to the cashier and they talked about me and my friend and I could tell they weren't going to do jack squat for us. It was only a $3 difference, but having worked in restaurants for 13 years I felt it was handled unprofessionally and the excuse of "she only speaks Spanish" was just their way of giving us the middle finger. Oh well, guess we'll go somewhere else from now on.

When the hostess at the door rolled her eyes on our arrival and begrudgingly grabbed menus for us, it did not bode well. The food was very generic strip mall Mexican food that made other strip mall Mexican food look good. Service was poor, asked for a small side of mole sauce, the waiter was confused and didn't seem to know what I wanted, he brought red sauce. When paying, the guy snottily slapped the credit card receipt on the counter and barked 'sign here', covering all but the total and tip lines. Signed for the total, first time I haven't left a tip at a restaurant in over 15 years.

For a local Mexican restaurant, La Fountain is pretty solid, For starters they serve two different salsas. One is a chunky fresh garden salsa and the other is a red hot sauce which is my favorite. It's a little spicy buy full of flavor Some of my favorite dishes are the Carne Asana burrito or the Colorado burrito. Their Chimichangas and enchiladas are also very tasty! They bring you endless chips and salsa, while providing great customer service. I would recommend this place for a very family friendly and delicious option for Mexican food.

This place has always intrigued me, mainly because the name is half Spanish and half English. This location has a weird entryway with very little room so when it is busy it is tough to enter and exit. The service during my visit was decent. We waited a long time to be acknowledged by a server but since we already had the chips and salsa, it was fine with me. Menu is varied and fun if you enjoy trying new Mexican dishes. I got the steak and potato dish, which is Carne asada, sliced fried potatoes with a fun salsa and beans and rice. The flour tortillas were solid and fresh which is a big thing for me. Prices seemed to be inline with quality and portions. Not quite a five star experience but I will return.

We always have enjoyed this Mexican spot. My favorite is the Chile Relleno with a cold glass of Horchata. Salsa could be better but still very tasty.

Went here for the first time tonight. The atmosphere is very welcoming and warm. They greeted us as soon as we walked in with smiling faces! The food was soo fresh and yummy! We got the chimichanga special with verde sauce, and some papas and chorizo! Loved this place and will be back for more :)

We eat here about once a month. The food is usually very good and fresh. The service can be a little slow, and it's kinda hard to tell who works here. No one is wearing a uniform. There is better mexican food in salt lake County but this is close to home

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
