Being from San Antonio I like my buffets, and of course it's always nice when I get a military discount. But to come to a restraunt and get a $0.50 discount on a $15.00 bill is a real insult. Food was great, but when the manager himself is embarrassed about the discount for military, himself being a marine, that's just sad. And the only reason they even give a military discount is "because of their proximity to the base". That's the worst reason if I've ever heard one, because last time I checked we defended more than just out bases.

My friend, Jojo and I went to dinner here because we were both starving and could not figure out where we wanted to eat. So, BAM! Buffet with almost everything is what we got. The service was absolutely wonderful. I am new to Utah so I did not know that everyone you meet would be friendly. The waitress was always filling up our water glasses and was nice along with a bright smile. The food is good...not great, not amazing...just good. I mean it is a buffet restaurant after all. Some food was left out for awhile and some was replenished in what seemed to be a normal time frame. I mostly ate their burbon chicken, mac n cheese, green beans, mashed potatoes with gravy...and chedder biscuits. Almost like the Red Lobster chedder biscuits, except these were cheaper! I looooooove chedder biscuits! Overall since it was a buffet but had GREAT service, I give it a 3. Definately worth my $11.70 but then again I was also starving like Marvin.

For my wife and I time seems to be golden corral's best friend. Over time we forget that we told each other not to go there again. We ate at this location a few weeks back with the same result. Everything I ate there with exception to the ice cream tasted like salt. The salisbury steak tasted like salt with a hint of steak flavoring in the background. the fried chicken tasted like salt with a hint of poultry flavoring. Same results with fried fish, grilled sausage, baked fish etc... and so on. It was a disappointment with every fork placed in my mouth. This comes from a guy who love Chinese food so I have no aversion to sodium but when it takes over as in the case of this Golden Corral me thinks not. Rather than eating spoons of salt I would recommend going down to IFA and buying a salt lick same result but a lot cheeper. I can vision Gorden Ramsey telling the cooks "come over here and taste this and tell me what you taste? SALT you donkeys!

It's open on sunday! Which is rare in Utah. The food was good and for 40 bucks we fed my heard of 5 to our hearts content.

It may be a buffet, but that doesn't make it excempt from reviews. I've been to this location twice for work meetings. Definitely not my favorite place to eat. I think this restaurant is good if you have children who are picky eaters or if you are too old to properly taste the food. The place reminds me of a school cafeteria, and the food isn't much better. My favorite item they have would be their rolls; other than that I'm not a fan. The vegetables were overcooked, the chicken was dry, the steaks were..... not good. I did like the soft-serve ice-cream though, and for that they get two stars.

I barf just thinking about this place. Beef was horrible tasting. My husband got sick off of their food. He was pooping on himself in his sleep. That's how bad it was. I suggest not eating devil eggs, or crab salad. Dessert bar was great except the fact that little kids can reach it and they tend to touch and put back. More parents fault than yours but I guess. Not the greatest! Rolls with butter are bomb again.

So, I'm on a driving trip through Utah, Was going to eat at the Cracker Barrel. No cars in the lot, so we kept going. I really liked this Golden Corral. If I was staying in the area, I sure would have eaten their more than the once. Of course, I like that home cooked feel. There was plenty of food to choose from. The older crowd know how to find a bargain. Sure beats being served a $25 meal that you hate. At least here if you don't like something, go try another dish. Eat as little or as much as you like. The wait staff were extremely friendly.

WORST FOOD EVER! We went there as a family for a birthday dinner. NO one liked the food. Not even the grandchildren.

If you've ever been to a Golden Corral in Phoenix, you know how bad they can be. This place was cleaner, they kept trays full, and the staff was friendly. Also, we came on a Friday night and the place was packed. No one annoying and though there were a ton of kids (family place, afterall), none of them were running around poking food or picking it up and putting it back- something I always see at buffets. I'm a little embarrassed to be reviewing a buffet, but there you go.

Great for a large family, picky eaters, & those with dietary restraints. Food is always fresh with a good variety.

Came as a group for a family reunion dinner. Even though this place has a reputation for being dirty, I was blown away at this visit! The place has improved greatly since the years before, being clean and remodeled, the familiar bad smell of old food gone and replaced with freshly grilled steaks. We had a group waitress named Elizabeth that was super kind and careful, taking away our used dishes and refilling our drinks before we could ask! If only most other restaurants would do such a thing, that is the #1 problem I come across each day and Golden Corral took care of it professionally (although I mostly give the credit to our amazing group waitress, Elizabeth). But wait there's more! We all went up to the streak grill, asked for anything, and they gave us some superb juicy steaks! I couldn't believe it! They were just a step below the professional steak houses all around Layton for a fraction of the cost, and better than anything I could grill at home, you can't beat that! Golden Corral really stepped up their game recently and it has payed off. All the other numerous and diverse dishes were mostly fresh, not perfect but better than I expect from other buffets like Chuckorama and even other Golden Corrals! The only thing I could gripe about was the chocolate fountain, which was more like a chocolate stew, messy from multiple unsupervised children messing it up. Keep up the great work, management! Please don't let us down after you have set my standards for your restaurant so high!

Never disappointe, BBQ RIBS were a hit for all myG-kids, 9- 11 - 20- their friend 11 & my daughter. A great exciting no hurry, filling meal with G-maw. Having had an ALL RAINY DAY at Lagoon for National Clogging, this stop for our dining experience was the actual highlight of our day. Thank you, they were extremely busy, but we relaxed, and watched as fresh food after fresh food was placed out, and absolutely delicious

I would like to start off by saying that their service is absolutely AMAZING. My whole family was craving steak so we decided to come here and see what they had to offer. All I have to say is that the wait for the steak is absolutely long. I asked the lady for a well done steak but she had burnt my steak not just once but MULTIPLE times. I felt like my teeth were about to fall off because of the steak. I felt like I was eating a rock. Not to mention that it was also dry. Plus all of the other foods were not fresh at all. I grabbed a piece of pizza and sat down to eat it but nope that was hard as a rock as well. I will definitely not be going here ever again. Go somewhere else. This place is not good for kids as advertised. They're even lucky I gave them a star.

Large Group! Plenty of food for all! Salads, vegetables, meats, desserts. Yum! We enjoyed our dinner!

I mostly come here because my kids like it. I'm not entirely sure if it's because of the fact that they get all they want desserts or that they (used to) have a kids treasure box. I took my daughter out on a mother-daughter date to have some one-on-one time with her and she picked here. The food here is really cheap quality. They seem to rely heavily on oils and fats to get any sense of satiety. The best thing I had today was the Texas Toast. Their chicken quarters that are the ones without breading was decent for the meat choices. If you like hot tea I suggest trying to sweeten it with cotton candy. That was fun :)

Finally ate at a Golden Corral while on a road trip. It was not crowded at 3:30 in the afternoon. I basically had the salad bar which for the price had a good selection and everything was fresh. But what surprised me was their steak, it was quite good and the ribs were flavorful and fall off the bone tender. The wait staff was surprisingly very good and walked around frequently asking if we needed refills on our drinks or if we needed anything else. For $8.99 this is a darn good deal.

The drink refillers (waitresses) were great. The only thing I liked was the steak. Everything else seemed really low quality. I'm a big guy and I love food but I haven't been to this place in a few years and it will probably be a few more before I forget how mediocre it is. I'm kind of a germaphobe too. The idea of touching utensils used by everyone kind of freaked me out as well.

Pricy. Food is okay. Steak was tender but I asked for rare and received a well done piece of meat. Ribs were tender, salad was good, Mac and cheese was pretty good and all the desserts were not very tasty. Our server was really good. She was super friendly and kept our drinks full and our table clean. Wouldn't be sad if we didn't go back. I'm not a big fan of buffets anyway.

Just had lunch there. The food was all tasty. I think new cooks working there. I was unhappy with the quality of food in the past and had stopped dining there. On a whim I decided to try lunch, not expecting a good experience. I tasted a lot of food and everything I ate tasted fine. I recommend this place now and hope the quality doesn't lapse.

The service is pretty good, they are nice!! But the food are not delicious. Me and boyfriend are buffet fans, but we only eat three dishes total, we felt disappointed, especially he was so hungry at that time, but after he finished the first dish, he said he doesn't want to eat.I saw his face is like . Compared with other same price buffet restaurants, the food flavor in here is weird, even my favorite (Asian food or fried food). I feel sorry with the restaurant, I hope they can try harder and do the best on food.

I came here the other day with my grandma and we were both disappointed with our first plates. She got a salad and said that the dressing had no flavor at all; might as well dress it with water. I had spaghetti and the noodles were cold and the sauce had no flavor; I agreed with what she said; may as well had water as the sauce. It was so runny and thin and just weird. The garlic bread was really good though. My grandma had chicken on her 2nd (last) plate and it wasn't cooked all the way. My second plate was just ok, I had a mini burger slider thing which was just ok, with a roll, their rolls are amazing! It's kind of sad that the only consistently good things are the breads or sides. We didn't even get dessert this time. after our 2nd plate of just "meh" food we left and finished our shopping date. Which is really sad because I have always loved Golden Corral! Sad that it's changed. Also there was some sort of inspector guy who was on the other side of food taking temperatures of the food; which I appreciate. However, after he did that, he was on the phone with someone talking about his job. Just standing where we were all eating. You would think that he would have taken the call outside or in a back room or something. Not in front of customers saying "so and so was doing this and she was not doing that." He wasn't trying to be quiet at all or anything and it was distracting the conversation I was trying to have with my grandmother. Oh well I guess.

My dad's favorite place to eat. Lots of food! They were having a Wings special where they have multiple wings out to eat. The wings were pretty dry and did not have a lot of sauce on them. The food is ok, not great, but not bad, it is a cheap buffet. They had some food you could order on the grill, but you have to time it right, otherwise all the food is well done. They have quite a few desserts, and a chocolate fountain. After eating stuff from the chocolate fountain, then watching peoples kids dip their hands in the chocolate made me never want to eat it again!

I love Golden Corrals in other locations, so I was surprised when this one didn't measure up. the food was OK... not great not awful... there wasn't as much variety as you would think because choices were duplicated on both sides. however, the unsweetened tea made me sick for two days. I'm not kidding, it was so rank it tasted like it was days old and stored at room temperature. I definitely got mild food poisoning. I could never manage to flag down my waitress to tell her so I just left. But, I was reminded several times a day for a couple of days about it. my stomach cramps give it one star.
