It's a Subway so they have a very standardized menu and food style. This particular store is large and clean. They're open early (7am) with fresh food. Service is friendly but slow.

One of the strangest experiences I've ever had in a subway. The girls behind the counter took a very long time to come out of the back. seemed to have a bit of an attitude. My friend ordered a turkey sandwich and the girl blankly stared at her and made her a ham sandwich. She pulled out some random bread to make my girlfriends sandwich with asking her what kind she wanted. After trying to get her attention several times she finally looked ip and reluctantly threw the loaf down and started over. After I got my sandwich (which I can't complain about) I realized that I had forgotten to order something. When I turned around the girls had vanished like ninjas in to the back into the back room. After several attempts at calling them I gave up.

Went to this subway twice in one week on a trip to Powell. 1st time took forever, way understaffed. The food was good as usual and I have no complaints about that. The second time they were so slow one employee was hanging out with friends at their tables. The food was good and no complaints there either. Both times we went, one being busy and the other being really slow. The floor, chairs and tables were unbelievably dirty. We had to wipe our own chairs a table both times. Appearance obviously isn't everything, but really, clean up a little.

Kanab is just a little town with not much going on and not much going for it. It does bring in lots of tourists though that are making their way through the National Parks and Monuments in southern Utah, Lake Powell and the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Since there are not a whole lot of restaurants to eat at in Kanab, people may want to be looking for something familiar. Case in point, Subway. Although it was tourist season when I was going through this particular Subway was backed with a line nearly out the door. Since I had my dog with me; I decided to stay outside with her while my partner went in to order and have out sandwiches made. This wait took 20 minutes just to get a freakin' Subway sandwich. The reason for this could be just one or a combination of all of these, they being: Subway cannot handle a rush at all due to the way they have their setup at making sandwiches This particular location either had staff that could not reduce the line quickly due to inexperience(incompetence too?) or lack of manpower. This was not the only Subway that had a line like this in the towns in Southern Utah. So I am leaning towards problems with the set up or inexperience at dealing with rushes. At least the sandwiches did not make us sick once we got them. That is something to its credit.

I live in Kanab and eat at this Subway several times a week for lunch. They get lots of traffic especially during the summer so ingredients are always fresh. Restaurant is clean and well managed. Great customer service, they remember my usual order and make it with a smile. I've eaten at a lot of Subways and this one is by far the best.
