Slot Canyon Inn is a wonderful Bed & Breakfast located just five miles West of Escalante. The Inn was designed as a Bed and Breakfast from the ground up, and it shows! The architecture is wonderful, the rooms spacious and quiet, each designed as a separate suite. The Inn also includes a grill, available for dinner without reservation for guests, and the owner is friendly and helpful. If you are thinking of trying the place then I assume you know why you want to come here? Hiking, horseback riding, ATV trips, Bryce canon, Kodachrome canon, Petrified forest, slot canyons near Tropic, lakes, fishing, archaeology and beauty everywhere all within short driving distance. Should you wish to explore further afield, Zion national park is about 2.5 hours away -- close enough for an easy day trip. Why stay here instead of another B&B or a hotel? The home and site are gorgeous. You are located well back from Highway 12 in a serene pocket at the base of the hills. The summer sky and the skyline are amazing, the night sky and the stars well worth staying up for (each room has an outdoor deck). This is a very casual, family friendly place but sufficiently elegant and quiet to make a lovely and romantic getaway. You can stay as little as a day but that is such a waste with so much to do and see!

5 stars. The inn is located in a ranch about 5 miles before the town of Escalate. It is a little hard to get to after dark - so plan on coming up early or understand the intricacies of the directions. The rooms are spacious and well priced for what you get. The vistas all around are splendid. The place is family owned and operated - there is breakfast in the morning that is freshly prepared. They also operate a restaurant which has patio seating - we ate dinner there on the patio - the setting was amazing. They have cats, a dog, and a couple of horses - a bonus. 5 stars.

This is a special place. It brings people together. SCI is the only luxury inn that is centered of all the nearby attractions including Bryce Canyons; Hole in the Rock Road; and Burr Trail Road. Jennifer and her brother Jared were awesome hosts. They made us feel welcome and took great care of us. Jared knows the area pretty well. He gave us helpful directions and ideas as to where to go and what to see. It was our 1st trip to Escalante. Jennifer and Jared put in lot of effort each morning to make us homemade breakfasts. Everyday was a different. We definite got really spoiled. The restaurant North Creek Grill is conveniently located right next door...in the back yard. Adam cooked all the meals on the menu. He is an excellent cook. You must try the pizzas. They are just as good as the artisan pizzas in NYC. Mandy, our hostess, was warm and welcoming, and has a great sense of humor. FYI: BYOB. Its a beautiful house. Its spacious and each room has its own bathroom. Every room has its own decor. The house and the grounds are very well kept. Its also a working ranch so you get to see the horses; cows; sheep; and a goat. Not to mention the 3 cats and they do sneak up on you. So Beware.... One night we got back and it was pitch dark in the parking lot. One of the cats snuck up on me as I got out of the car....Auuuuuuhhhhh Yes, I screamed like a *beep*beep*beep* and it scared the *beep*beep*beep* out of me. Surprisingly, I did not wake up the dead or offend the other guests with my potty mouth...DOH! The other guests were warm and friendly. Must confess, I am not a morning person. So making chitchats and socializing in the morning (especially before my 1st cup of joe) is not my thing. You feel me? Yet, I was there chatting it up w/ different folks each morning, with my coffee mug *grin*. Met some real down to earth people and made some friends. We are still keeping in touch. SCI is like the Olive's Garden. They treat you like family. Cheers!

Really nothing bad to say about this place, was very glad to have found it in beautiful but not very developed Escalante, UT (which I'm sure Escalante residents are happy about) Start the day with a very good well balanced breakfast, had eggs, pancakes, fruit, selection of breads, muffins/coffeecake. Great location between some of the sights and hikes of Grand Staircase Escalante Nat'l Monument and Bryce Canyon. We enjoyed both spots. Got helpful hints from the staff. Our room (we stayed in Dance Hall Rock) was very clean, cozy (but not small) and quite comfortable. Great bed too. 2 decks (one was shared with the next door room, other was private) Dinner at the on-site restaurant (North Creek Grill) was also very good and was convenient in that you don't need to leave to get something great to eat. Property was just gorgeous, great scenery just a couple of miles east of "downtown". Lots of animals on the property including 4 of the friendliest cats you'll ever meet and Roscoe the hound who was a nice guy tooo All in all if you are looking to stay in the area to explore you aren't going to do better. Would easily recommend this place to others without hesitation and if we ever go back I absolutely will stay here.

Just left Slot Canyons Inn B&B this morning and I already miss the barncats! They are so friendly and just hop right into your lap for some serious snuggle time. Roscoe, the sometimes in residence hound is also a big ball of mush! I also loved the manager, Jennifer, who tried to go out of her way to make sure every guest had everything that they needed for a pleasant stay while always keeping a cheerful attitude even though it seemed at times that she was the only person on staff. I did feel like the inn was quite understaffed... After our first night, housekeeping neglected to even touch one of our rooms and while the beds were made in the other room, only 2/4 trash cans were emptied, no toiletries were refilled, and the worst was that they didn't refill the toilet paper. I was the lucky one sitting on the throne calling for TP SOS. It was just awkward not asking for tissues because we didn't want to add to Jennifer's work load. The electricity went out for a few hours after a thunderstorm and they didn't have any supplies like candles or flashlights to help us see in the pitch black bathrooms trying to take hot showers after getting soaked on a hike. On the upside, the water was still hot. The majority of stores and restraunts in town also closed due to the power outage. IMO, if I lived in such a remote area, I'd get a couple generators. While breakfasts were hearty and pretty good, again, I felt like Jennifer was on her own trying to feed something like 20 hungry people. She is such a kind and sweet lady, I just wish it didn't seem like she was completely overburdened with everything she has to do! On the other hand, their restraunt seemed well staffed and the veggie pizza was good. My mom wasn't too thrilled with their meatloaf and was still hungry when she was finished. The spinach dip was actually kind of gross. We stayed three nights and only ate there the first night. Oh, and we could only connect to the wifi in the lobby...

I've literally NEVER written a good OR bad review on Yelp with regards to a hotel, inn or lodge, but my stay at the Slot Canyon Inn required one. The Slot Canyon Inn was a stellar bed and breakfast. The inn itself is recently remodeled and in terrific condition. It's located uniquely on it's own ranch a few miles from the town of Escalante. Just an amazing setting, with ranch animals and a terrific view of Escalante. The rooms were terrific. Our dinner was locally farmed beef and extremely well done. Our room was big enough to sleep four adults comfortably. Our breakfast the next morning was UNREAL. Just can't give this place enough praise. It might be more expensive than others in Escalante, but there's a big reason why. Night and day when you see your choices firsthand. Literally wouldn't stay anywhere else in Escalante. I recommend you don't either.

This is the first Yelp review I have ever written. I felt this Inn was so remarkable that I had to complement them. My husband and I only spent one night there but agree that we want to return for a longer stay. Jennifer and Jared were particularly friendly and helpful. Jared showed us some wonderful pictographs we would not have found ourselves. We enjoyed our walk around the inn itself. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and attractive. The breakfast was delicious. The setting is beautiful. We loved having the cats around. The restaurant on the grounds had delicious food and friendly service. I feel we have discovered a gem in Utah and look forward to returning.

It does not get any better than this! We travel to this area almost every year. Never before have we stayed in the perfect place. The setting, decor, artwork, breakfast, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, ample size and decor of the rooms, the comfort of the beds and quality of the bath -- EVERYTHING! And they have wi-fi that works! Not always the case out here. Slot Canyons Inn is officially my new favorite B&B -- for any place in the country! Every day breakfast was terrific and different. Always fresh fruit and juice, nice choice of the quick and simple things and great special dishes as well. We were here for 4 nights, hiking in the area. We were really fortunate that their wood-fired grill opened near the end of the stay -- also terrific. The location is great for hiking the Grand Staircase of the Escalante, Kodachrome Basin, Willis Creek and could even be used to venture further, like up to Capitol Reef or back to Bryce Canyon, although these are each about 1 1/2 hours away. We will be back!

Slot Canyons Inn is a GREAT place to stay in Escalante. Joette is always friendly and accommodating. The property is in a beautiful location with great views. The rooms are very nice and comfortable. Breakfast is great and the meal loaf dinner was superb. My son and I have stayed at Slot Canyons Inn 3 times during our father/son outdoor Utah vacations and love it. We will be staying here again next week with my wife and mother in law staying for the first time. A must stay!

Best 5 star B&B in Utah. Very scenic and makes for a great base camp to explore the beauty of south central Utah. There is even an archeological site on the property. The rooms are very elegant and ours had a jetted tub and fireplace. We spent an anniversary here and are very happy with the experience. We look forward to coming back here again.

It's perfect for a combination of outdoor and elegance. Family owned and everyone is delightful. They have a great restaurant and outdoor kitchen on the property- by far the nicest restaurant within 100 miles of the location. It's on a property with the river, cows, and the beautiful rock mountain views. It has an archaeological site right behind it which is very interesting. At night you can see at least a billion stars in the sky. The atmosphere is soothing and healing. The woman who owns and runs Slot Canyon Inn, Joette, has a sweet and sophisticated elegance of her own. She is a wonderful person to get close to and know. The house has many beautiful sitting areas. It would be great for any season to stay here. The beautiful rock fireplace, the many outdoor porches on both the lower and upper decks have fantastic views.

Wonderful! This is a new & modern B&B with tasteful southwest decor. The innkeeper, Joette, was so friendly and helpful. The inn is on 160 acres so it's fun to walk some of their trails, and we also enjoyed sitting out with a glass of wine on our private balcony. Breakfast was fabulous (scrambled egg pizza, yogurt and fruit with homemade granola, homemade muffins, etc). We were sorry we only got to stay one night, and will definitely stay here again if we return to Escalante.
