A family run and staffed business selling standard American fare, cooked well and passed through the serving hatch with a warm smile. Seating is outside and rustic, on eclectic picnic benches. You can pay double in all the other restaurants available and experience half the taste. I've tried all of the competition. I only bothered reviewing Nemo's. A liquor license would force me to petition yelp for that 6th star option, but this is Utah. Enjoy people watching and keep an eye out for the Desert Doctor. You can finish an ice cream in about three sightings of this bike riding local eccentric.

A true diamond in the rugged rough desert of Escalante! It takes a moment to get your food, but it is definitely worth every second! The burgers are grilled to perfection and the sweet potato crinkle fries are a delectable addition.

Some of my favorite burgers anywhere. Had one last year en route to Bryce Canyon and wanted to make a trip back for more Nemo's, but my trip companion wasn't feeling the detour. Luckily, this year I made it back on a 1.5 hour detour just for more Nemo's! I like the jalapeño jack burger with sweet potato fries and a triple berry malt.

This place is like an oasis in the desert of Wintertime Utah, with most of the family restaurants closed. This place is golden, with one of the best roadside burgers and perfect Mcdonald's style fries.

So stoked to find a quaint place that serves well made comfort food in a sleepy mountain town during winter! We were around Escalante hiking Grand Staircase and after 8 miles of sand strugglin' it was awesome to see this place with its blinking string of lights beckoning us over. We got two burgers and had nothing to complain about. Service was quick and friendly and is guaranteed to please if you're in the area and famished after a day of trudging through dunes. Bonus: weekends + Mondays they do Mexican food, W-F they do Chinese!

For once, found this place without Yelp (as I was without service in the area - boo!) and am surprised that it has the ratings that it does. Was driving around the area and discovered that I was famished. It was getting close to dusk, and it seemed like all other places in Escalante were closed except Nemos. Disclaimer: I'm basing my review solely on the chicken and rice burrito that I ordered, so it may not necessarily be representative of this establishment as a whole. Firstly, I was greeted by a not-so-friendly cashier who begrudgingly took my order. I was the only one there, and it looked like it had been that way for a while. Right after me, a lady came and ordered 2 large milkshakes and some other food, which miraculously came out before my one burrito. When it DID come out, I found out, to my dismay, that it was TINY and DEEP FRIED. The inside was filled with indiscernible mush, although I'm not sure what else I expected. Next to the burrito was some wilted, sad lettuce. Giving 3 stars because it was just all-right in a pinch, but would look for something else if I'm ever in the area again.

In a town with not too many culinary offerings, I can see how Nemo's is a solid selection. Per the Yelp reviews, and where it's located (right on the main road)- I do wonder if the majority of Nemo's business comes from tourists. FOOD +Meh... Nemo's is fast food, without a drive through and the "fast". +Burgers: somewhat flavorless, but not overly greasy. However, if you are an In-N-Out Burger or Five Guys afficiando, LOWER your expectations. +Burgers are served with fries, but English Chips or Sweet Potato fries can be subbed for $1.50. English Chips can be described as fried potato cubes/nuggets. I love a fried potato... however, a little seasoning could have enhanced the bland. You'll find yourself reaching for the ketchup/mayo sauce served with the meal. +Cost: Slightly higher pricing than typical "fast food". Nemo's appears to have simplified their menu. Pizza and calzone options aren't available anymore. (Recent menu posted in pics.) Instead, ice cream: cones, shakes, soft-serve, etc have been added.

We highly recommend this little hamburger stand in historic Escalante. Really good burgers and humongous soft-serve cones. We had the college burger (bacon cheeseburger) and the mushroom Swiss. Hand made, well seasoned and as tasty as you can get without using ground sirloin. Sat at the picnic tables under the trees and plotted our tour of the many historic homes in Escalante. He got a large cone and I got the small. Both were literally 6" tall---the difference is the size of the sugar cone at the base of the ice cream mountain. Lol. Really too much for one, maybe even for two.

Awesome stop! When everything else is closed, Nemo's shines like a guiding star. All food is prepared and cooked with fresh ingredients and served with a smile. A must stop if you're in town

Eaten here on several recent trips to Escalante. Typical "Dairy Queen" type food and ice cream offerings. Food always tastes good with quick service. My go-to food choice in the Escalante area.

What a crazy little place. This was the only restaurant option in or around Escalante in early January - as near as we could tell. This is a little shack on the side of the road that offers an eclectic mix of food - standard burgers alongside Mexican and Chineseish offerings depending on the day of the week. The Chinese fare is impressionistic at best - fried meat, an American-Chinese inspired sauce, and rice. It's acceptable and not disappointing given the location and the establishment type. Ordering and service is through a window. Seating is outside. None of the shakes mentioned in other reviews were apparent - perhaps because we were there in the winter.

Great food and friendly people what more could you ask. If you are looking for a quick burger this is the place in Escalante. Shakes are awesome too.

Great food for such a small town. We got a calzone and a burger, which both seemed to be made fresh. The cashiers were very friendly. The burger came with fry sauce. YUM! Would definitely come back the next time in town.

Friendly dudes, good food. They even gave a puppy dog an ice cream cone (which was gone in seconds). Can't wait to get back down to Escalante to backpack and have a burger! This is the place!
