Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Ate here yesterday. Had the French fries appetizer, arugula and prosciutto Pizza, wife had the meatballs and arugula salad. We ordered too much. The fries were soggy, the Pizza was really good, wife said the meatball sauce was just okay, and the arugula salad had an odd tasting dressing. Overall, I would go back for the pizza but wasn't overly impressed.

Excellent food with fresh ingredients cooked right. I ordered the Margarita pizza which really showcased the quality dough and pizza sauce which are clearly made from scratch.

I've been here a handful of times--when they first opened up until a week or so ago. I've seen improvement in staff since they first opened (before, they had servers under 21, who had to go get someone else to bring us drinks; now the servers must all be 21, so drinks no longer take forever to appear and I am more likely to order them). I would have rated our first experience here in terms of service as a 3.5, but I've been pleased every time since then. OAK is a great lunch or dinner place; if you're looking to spend a little amount of money, check their Facebook page for $8 lunch specials between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. I don't have a huge appetite, so the mini pizza, salad, and drink were satisfying and filling for me. If you're looking for a nice night out, OAK can also provide the ambience and service for that. I particularly like Mitch, who is not only personable, but also great with children, including my very precocious and talkative six-year-old. If he's there when I walk in, I will always try to sit in his section. I've now tried a number of items from the menu, and they have been consistently great tasting every time we go. The calamari is excellent and is a big portion. I order calamari at nearly every restaurant that offers it, and this is one of the best ones you'll get for your money and for your tastebuds. It's not too salty, too overcooked, or too small a portion. The sauces it's served with complement the squid very nicely. The White Pizza is deliciously cheesy, and I love adding on Oregano for added spice. This is my favorite pizza that I've tried at OAK, and it's been wonderful every time. This might seem silly to some, but I also have to recommend the bleu cheese dressing. I sometimes like a nice house salad, and their dressing is one of my favorites. I'd consider coming just for the dressing, if I were only in the mood for a salad. If you like dessert, then don't miss out on the skillet cookie. It's warm, gooey, and perfect with the ice cream and sauces. The only bad thing is that you might not want to share.

Super amazing pizza. The thin crust kind that's still soft and yummy. Had the pork sliders yesterday with the fries. The pork had this almost crispy caramelized edge. Had the mushroom pizza today and had a total mouthgasm: caramelized onions, crumbly cheese, olive oil, sea salt and mushrooms, perfect combination. And the lunch special price rocks!

I had the Triple P pizza, which was pretty good, but nothing earth shattering. We got the fries for an appetizer. They came over cooked and under seasoned. The tasted like plain potatoes. Disappointing. Our waiter was polite but slow to service us. My biggest problem is that we need to get a gluten free crust for my wife. It cost an EXTRA $7 to switch out the crust. The pizza was originally $12, and now it was $19! That is over 50% price increase! It is hard for me to believe that it cost $7 more for gluten free crust. As good as the menu looked, and the food is decent, it's not worth the price if you have to eat gluten free.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. A few of us went up here for some good old fashioned goat cheese in marinara and were blown away with everything we had. The calamari was tender and fresh breaded (you can tell), the honey sriracha wings were more honey that hot but good. The sriracha ketchup can lick my ass,,,,,I didn't care for it. The spaghetti sauce was a little heavy on the oregano but the meatballs were delicious. The white pizza made Vinny weak in the knees.....that actually might have been the amount of food we ate.

After all the five star reviews we felt like we had to give this place a try. For us, this was an average experience. The Margherita pizza was not the worst, but uninspired. We ordered drinks which were under poured and overpriced. The server was friendly; unfortunately, that's not enough to bring us back.
(3)Mark V.
I love the atmosphere at this place! I love the pizza, pulled pork sliders, and baked mozzarella. Chicken Parmesan sliders were a little bland. I was really hoping for a great taste. The service is always great!

We have lived in Draper for 5 years now and often lament the lack of decent, locally owned restaurants. We were excited to try OAK and it did not disappoint. We went on a Tuesday evening and there were a few other diners and a lot of employees. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server, Mitch, came over quickly with water and we ordered the Hat Trick based on other reviews while we decided on drinks. After a few minutes we ordered some wine and beer. The appetizer came out quickly, was hot and delicious. We loved the bread and I really liked the bacon jam while my husband loved the red pepper dip. We ordered the Dona Chaya and the White Pizza for our entrees. They arrived promptly and were also delicious. My husband even like the Dona Chaya and he usually doesn't enjoy sausage. We got the hot cookie for dessert and it was wonderful as well. The service was excellent throughout the meal. Mitch was friendly, knowledgeable, and quick without hovering over us. I'd like to see how they fare on a busy night Our only complaint is the restaurant feels a little cold. We used to visit it when it was a sushi place and had the same issue. My husband commented that a fireplace would be nice for the type of restaurant. I wish they had a few more private booth kind of tables but overall the decor is nice and fits the style of food. I am excited to go back soon. With the Indian food and the bakery in the same shopping center this is quickly becoming our "go-to" for good food close to home.
(4)Bryce M.
Great food. The best part is the cookie and ice cream in the hot skillet. The pizzas and salads are top notch.
(5)Cristy G.
I just went there yesterday and it was AMAZING!! The B.A.T. pizza and the Bacon Jam was killer. So glad to have a great restaurant in Draper.
(5)Rick O.
Best food ever...try their lunch specials! Their dessert is definitely worth sticking around for.
(5)Jenn W.
We just ordered the pepperoni pizza and spaghetti and meatballs to try the place out... Both were fantastic! We're so excited to have such a great place in Draper! Service was great too.
(5)Lynn L.
You can always expect the best service and delicious foods when dining at OAK. Trevor is attentive, Mitch is equally as good and Julia always has a smile on her face. Chef has done a wonderful job creating a menu that has a good variety but kept simple enough to not be overwhelming. Can't resist their skillet meatballs, any of their pizza's, the honey vinaigrette house dressing or the Cassar Salad and definitely can't forget the Irish Rickey martini...YUMMY! OAK has done a wonderful job of bringing something new and different to Draper and made it somewhere everyone can enjoy! Give OAK a try, you won't be disappointed!!!

Oak Wood Fire Kitchen has only been open for 2 weeks and it is already buzzing. My wife and I arrived early around 5:30 and found the place about 1/2 full. We were greeted promptly and were seated at a nice booth. We decided to share the Margarita pizza $8 to start. The crust was very tasty and crisp and I liked the flavorful tomato sauce. The only complaint I had would be the lack to basil, only 3 pieces for the whole pie but I love fresh basil. I will definitely try the Doña Chaya on my next visit. For our entrees the wife had the 1/2 Roasted Chicken and Fries $16 and I had the Petite Pasta $6 and Meatball Sliders $9. The winner by far were the sliders. 3 meatball sliders topped with a nice slice of fresh mozzarella and basil on a toasted bun with more of that delicious tomato sauce. I asked my wife how she enjoyed her chicken and even though she enjoyed the dish she is looking forward to sampling another menu item next time. The total bill for the pizza, sliders, 2 entrees and 1 soda was $55 which included a $10 tip.

This place is amazing. The ambiance inside is perfect for the menu and I loved having the TV's to watch games but muted while music played in the background. It was a nice touch. I watched something happen during my visit that brought a big smile to my face and showed me that this place is unique and different. A couple of kids went up to sit at the counter to watch the chef/owner throw pizza dough. As they watched in awe, he took a ball of dough for a crust and broke it into pieces for them to play with and pretend that they were pro's. To me that was a homerun! It was something small but showed me the mindset of the crew running the joint. I could tell that the mindset filtered down. We never asked for a refill, they just showed up and were very attentive to anything that we needed during our stay. We were a group of 2 adults, 2 15 year olds and a 9 year old and everyone at our table was ranting about how good everything was. Kids did pizza's, we started with some calamari and the slightly jazzy tomato sauce its served on was spot on. My lady friend ordered a Caprese Salad and loved every bite. I had the spaghetti and meatballs and my eyes are still rolling up into the back of my head. It was MONEY! Any place that I can take the kids and they love the food as much as I do and I get a strong beer and a whiskey chaser, I'm in! After reading other reviews, I think all too often knuckleheads armed with Yelp think that they are a food critic for the New York Times. Its kind of sad if you ask me. I don't need a nitpick review so I don't give those any attention. People don't need my untrained culinary input about every item on their plate. They just need to know that halfway through my spaghetti and meatballs, I needed a cigarette and I don't even smoke. Go try if for yourself and you wont be disappointed. I will be back. Over and over and over!

Clean nice place. We were able to sit right down, no wait. We ordered the Oak break appetizer, it was really good. I ordered a Cesar salad and it had too much dressing. That's why I'm giving the rating of 4 stars verses 5. The wood fired pork sliders were good and the French fries are delicious.
(4)Renee D.
My Mom and I ate lunch there yesterday and we had the Oak bread-very good! and the White pizza and the Margherita Pizza. Very friendly service.I'll be back.

I was pretty excited when OAK first opened. Draper is quickly growing community, but there aren't a lot of locally owned restaurants in the area serving locally sourced, made-from scratch food. I was very impressed with my first visit, which was shortly after they opened but I hesitated to write a review at that time because I knew they working very hard to make a good first impression on the community. I wanted to see if they could sustain that service and quality over time. OAK has been open for a few months and I've been 3 or 4 times. I think they have sustained the excellent service and improved the menu since that first week. I can't say everything is always perfect (no place is), but they are always very accommodating and make an effort to correct any issue that doesn't meet my expectations. My favorite menu items are the flatbread appetizer with hummus and bacon jam, the calamari, the double-cooked french fries, and all of the pizzas. I got to talk to the chef for a little bit once and he told me that he used to run a mobile wood oven that he would take out to farmers' markets and make and sell his pizzas there. He finally has a brick and mortar place of his own and he likes to experiment with local produce when it's in season. I'm not a vegetarian, but when he puts a vegetarian pizza on the special menu, I get it. It almost always means he got ahold of something special from one our the local farmers. I think OAK has a lot of potential, and they have done a great job making themselves a part of the community so far. I look forward to coming back time after time for high quality local food.

Great service and great ambiance will be a regular ! Get the cookie! Started with Sirracha wings, got the big chair and closed with the cookie.. Perfect !

One of my favorite new finds. I've been a handful of times and each time I love it. It's on the smaller side so on a busy friday night be ready for a wait. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes myself but I can see how it would fill up fast. The service is a little bit on the iffy side. My first time there was great then next two were just ok - a little slow, a few mess ups, a little neglect. Nothing horrible but it could use improvement. Here's the thing I think their pizza is good. Not outstanding but good. I've had the LeRoy, the Big Chair, and the Duck special and it was all good. Honestly the duck could have used a lot more flavor but it wasn't bad. The crust is decent not my favorite in SLC. If I were basing this review solely on pizza it would be a solid 3.5. It's everything else that makes me do a happy dance. Their baked goat cheese is a thing of dreams. Cheesy, saucey, carby dreams. I've had similar appetizers at other restaurants and there's just something about Oak Wood's that makes it shine. I would go there just for that. Their fries are amazing. Perfectly cooked double fried, just what I want in a french fry. Dip the fries in the baked goat cheese and you're in heaven. The calamari was spot on. The majority of it was not over cooked (and that parts that were were barely overcooked) and a generous portion. I was a little put off because we had asked for the sauce to be put on the side - I was skeptical of the fiesta sauce and vague description that the waitress gave. But oh man was it delicious. I'm really glad the mistake was made. The Salmon cassar salad was delicious (yes that's how they spell it). A generous portion of salmon perfectly - and I mean perfectly - cook. Fresh crisp greens. And a nice creamy tart dressing. There are so many other dishes I really want to try including the incredible looking meatball sliders, sriracha-honey wings, grilled prosciutto sandwich and well everything. Oh and don't forget the dessert. The hot cookie and cream is not to be missed. A perfectly gooey cookie in a skillet topped with cold ice cream. It's a perfect end to any meal or an afternoon snack. I wont judge you, especially if you bring me along.

What a great find hidden in Draper. Went to the Oak Wood Fire for dinner last night as a last minute choice ( didn't have anything to eat at home and knew about the Oak but had yet to have tried it). We arrived close to 8 pm and the place was buzzing with activity. We were given a table for 2 and our waitress was with us immediately. From start to finish it was an excellent experience. Our waitress was more than competent and very friendly. My husband and I ordered a Caesar Salad and the Arugula & prosciutto Pizza. The salad was fresh and delicious and not over dressed. The pizza was a real treat, topped with lots of arugula so that at each bite you had flavor. The prices were very very reasonable and the food excellent. We will definitely go back. ( The menu looked very interesting and I want to try other menu items)!
(5)John L.
Our first visit to Oak and we were very pleased. Staff was very nice, food came out in proper time and we found all items very delicious. Calamari plate was large, pizza was hot and tasty, and the salmon was tender and properly seasoned to our liking. If I had to sqauk about anything, it would just be the atmosphere is a tad noisy but that won't stop us from returning. Full bar and beer on tap too! Great find!
(5)Gaciel A.
We were looking for a good pizza. I'm not referring to some chain or standard American. We needed that flaky, slightly burned crust that cannot be replicated by conventional ovens. We had already given up thinking there was no other place aside from Settebello or Pizzeria 712. Just when we were hopeless we had nothing close to home, we stumbled on this place! This pizza is good. I mean really good. I absolutely love every single one of their creations, but the LeRoy is too good to pass up every time I come here. It is my absolute favorite out of all the pizza I have ever eaten in my life.
(5)Melissa H.
Oak was a good experience overall. The food is fresh and well prepared. We ordered baked goat cheese, steak salad, mushroom pizza, and spaghetti and meatballs for the kids. The goat cheese was delicious. It's served in a cast iron dish surrounded by marinara sauce. It's hard to go wrong with cheese, so the thing that made this dish top notch was the sauce. It tasted like fresh tomatoes--very clean and simple without too much sugar or salt. It was perfect for dipping the accompanying bread (which there wasn't enough of). We ended up dipping our pizza crust in too. The steak salad was pretty good. The meat was cooked perfectly, but under seasoned and not as flavorful as I was hoping. The blue cheese dressing was just right and not too overpowering. The greens and other toppings in the salad were standard issue for a place like this. The only disappointment was the pizza. The potential was there as all the individual ingredients were great, but the problem was (I never thought I would say this) there were too many mushrooms. The moisture from the mushrooms seeped into the crust, making it limp and a little soggy-not what you'd expect from a wood fired pizza. Also, the mushroom flavor overpowered everything else. I was looking forward to the combination of sweet caramelized onions and earthy mushrooms, but all I could taste was mushroom. It may have just been an inexperienced cook, but it was a shame none the less. The spaghetti was standard issue, but the meatballs were very good, though my kids didn't love them because they are used to the bland, bready frozen kind. I had no qualms about helping them clean their plate. We'll definitely come back for a date night without the kids. I wouldn't bring anyone under the age of 6 or 7. We paid $70 with a tip, which was a bit rich for my blood, but the food was good enough I'm willing to try again soon.

Hidden gem in Draper ... My son was brought by his nanny to this place for lunch and he really liked it... he kept mentioning about this place, so both my wife and I went together with him. My son was right. The food that we ordered are all good, from pizza to calamari. All are nicely presented and cooked to perfection.
(4)Gabi G.
Really good pizza and appetizers! The mushroom pizza was my favorite! Server was attentive, but not overly so. Only second best to setebellos. Thankfully this is much closer to my house with better parking for a big truck. Love the atmosphere. Perfectly cooked. Yum!
(4)Mary N.
This. Place. Is. Awesome. My husband and I went for lunch to celebrate an anniversary and kind of ordered everything. The food was so, so delicious and fresh and came out hot. The ambience is hip and fun without being pretentious, and I really like the decor. The only complaint I have is the service; our server was very friendly but got distracted by other guests, odd jobs around the restaurant, and coworkers, so we were left waiting quite often for him to come around. This wasn't a real problem for us - we weren't in any major hurry - but some more attentitiveness would have been nice. We ordered: The Hat Trick, a Caprese salad + Oak Bread ($3 extra), #77 the Original, and the Prosciutto & Arugula. Had we known the Oak Bread serving that comes with salads was an entire serving (the equivalent of a pizza size), we wouldn't have ordered it plus the Hat Trick (Oak bread with three dipping sauces). It was extremely delicious, but it was so much food for only two people! I loved the bread alone (garlicky, cheesy, oily (in the good way) deliciousness, but with the dipping sauces it was magnificent. BACON JAM. That was so good, we bought some ($10 for 4 oz, which is steep but worth it). The hummus was very smooth and creamy, and the chef's choice that day appeared to be marscapone with jalapeño jelly and was also really incredible. The Caprese salad came with a bit of house salad on the side, which had one of the most delicious sweet vinaigrettes I've ever had. The pizzas were really excellent. The #77 came with fresh pineapple rather than canned, and the Prosciutto & Arugula was fresh, flavorful, and sooooo cheesy. At that point I was only able to eat two slices of it, but we took it home and enjoyed it later. We'll DEFINITELY return! If you like Pizzeroa 712 down in Orem, you'll like OAK too!
(5)Alexander T.
A solid choice in the draper area. Would definitely come back again and try out the different pizza types. I thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend the following items: The Calamari appetizer was plentiful and delicious and was served on a bed of spicy salsa. However, I enjoyed dipping these fried rings into the goat cheese dip (intended for the oak break). Finally, the steak pizza had the perfect amount of spice (jalepenos).
(4)Dustin K.
So far so not good they sent me a burnt pizza then they sent me a dessert which is OK but I still haven't got my pizza. They told me was flamed kissed Pizza lol the desert is your average dessert to sweet & very rich. But overall good, most likely I will not be coming back for the desert. Now granted it is the better dessert than your average restaurant so maybe I'm judging it too hardly. It does taste better than the Texas Roadhouse cookie! I really annoying and stressed out today this place is not a quiet place it is very noisy, so only go here if you want to handle noise. Okay finally got my pizza, make sure you ask for lightly done pizza if you don't want burnt pizza. About 8 to 10 minute wait for the pizza in a busy packed Place. About three to five minutes to get served. unfortunately someone stole her tables outside so no outside dining I hope they get that fixed as I'd like to come back without the noise. Halfway through the pizza good quality nice and spicy for the Leroy. Probably rather go with chicken next time. the sauce is different not sure how to explain it you. The crust is excellent.Really quick on the soda and friendly staff. Stu the manager must have felt bad for me and he gave me a free meal. So for the good quality food and fixing the mistake I'll give you guys 5 stars. Not my favorite pizza though but I will try a different type next time.
(5)Been B.
We have had this pizza place on our list to try for 3 months now. Although it was good, it wasn't great. Not likely to revisit. So many other places to eat or try. It didn't blow us away like some of the reviews state. The dishes had good taste but there was something a little off with each dish. The pepperoni was ultra thin and dry. The Pesto goat cheese pizza needed a few more fresh ingredients to counter the cheese. We liked the junk fries, but think that a different type of French fry (not think fresh potato fries) would take this starter to the next level. Junk fries 8/10 Pesto Goat Cheese pizza 7/10 Pepperoni pizza 7/10 Service 5/10
(4)Shanna V.
My husband and I tried Oak Wood because it was close to our home and there isn't anything else like this in Draper. My first impression was that it felt like a downtown restaurant. I have a dairy allergy, so pizza really isn't the best choice for me. I asked my server what my options were and he suggested a cheeseless pizza. I was skeptical to say the least. I ended up ordering the Big Chair with a TON of veggies, no cheese. Topped with a little bit of balsamic vinegar and this was hands down the best pizza I've ever had. Not only is the food awesome, but the service is phenomenal. We are now frequent diners.
(5)Annie D.
Great food - great service!!! Local fresh dining - doesn't taste like it just came off the Sisco food truck. Eat here and be happy to support small local business that knows there business!! (And if you read my reviews you know I am not afraid to tell it like it is.)
(5)Allison J.
YUMMMM... Had the best turkey pesto sandwich. Amazing ! Service was great !
(5)Jodie O.
Best pizza in Utah. Food and service were impeccable. Try the warm goat cheese appetizer... Mmmmm. Plus they have a decent beer selection. I will be back. A lot.
(5)Rebecca C.
My husband and I have lived in Utah for only 2 months and we have been to Oak 3 times. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is great and all 3 of our servers have been wonderful. It's easily our favorite restaurant. The oak bread is fantastic. We have had the chicken parmigian, chicken alfredo, the chair pizza and the meatball appetizer. All of them were delicious! We will continue to frequent this restaurant. OH and the cookie desert... Just do it.
(5)JP C.
Excellent food, friendly service, light and welcoming atmosphere. I went here for lunch with a large group, and we shared pretty much everything we ordered. I got to try several appetizers and 7 of the pizzas, so I got a nice sampling of what this place offers. It was all really good! I love the thin crusts on the pizzas. The steak and jalapeno pizza was possibly my favorite, but the arugula and prosciutto pizza was right there with it. The meat pizzas were tasty, as was the chicken and pesto one. The least interesting pizza was probably the one that was essentially a Hawaiian pizza. Decent, but not as good as the others. The appetizers were decent, but not as high quality as the pizzas. We tried the wings, calamari, and caprese salad. The caprese was the best of these. The one disappointment to me was the house salad. I know, I shouldn't have any expectations around a house salad, but this one was particularly uninspired. It was almost entirely greens and had maybe two half cherry tomatoes and a few slivers of red onion. Boring. Pretty decent pricing, good service. I'd eat here again.
(4)Katie H.
Me and my husband were here a few weeks ago.. We ordered an oak bread for an appetizer, it was pretty good! I was hoping they would have some sort of a lunch special, but they didn't. So I ordered a margarita pizza with a house salad with ranch, but they were out of dressing so I cancelled the salad. My husband ordered pulled pork sliders, and he said they were pretty good. But really his fries were the best part of the whole meal, they were delicious. I would definitely come back :)
(4)Haleigh M.
Great atmosphere, great drinks, great food. My favourite place to watch an RSL game, by far, and the staff is totally killer. The owner is often there, throwing pizza's in the giant wood fire oven behind the counter. My husband loves the fries, and their specials are usually really good. It's really hard to go wrong with their menu. If you are in the south end of the valley, I recommend checking it out!
(5)Marissa F.
Draper UT - So excited for another South end yummy restaurant. We had: Duck Pizza - This was yummy although my dinner mates didn't think it was anything special. I do have to admit the duck didn't taste like duck it tasted like pork. So yummy but didn't really taste like duck Calamari - This was good but it comes served on top of a spicy tomato sauce. We asked for the sauce on the side and it came out with it on top of the sauce. Luckily we all liked the sauce so that was okay. It was cooked okay. Probably about half a little overcooked. Salmon Caesar Salad - Definitely the best thing we ordered. Everything tasted SO FRESH. The fish was cooked perfectly and it was absolutely delicious. I would come back for this in an instant. Cookie Dessert - Super yummy, worth the extra 5$ and calories. The food was tasty I'm excited to go back. I thought the service was just okay nothing that bad but not getting the calamari as ordered and a few comments that were made were just a bit weird but over all the food got to us and our drinks got refilled. I will be back and I'm excited to try more of the menu!
(4)Ryan W.
I went because a family member works there, and speaks highly of it. I will go back because the food is good. Wood fired ovens and grills give a different taste to the food that is unique and easy to mess up. They didn't mess up when we were there. The kids had cheese pizza, which was delicious. Picky 4yr old daughters ate half and wanted to take it home. I had the blue cheese and steak salad, which was sumptuous. The lettuce could have been cut once, it was a little distracting, but the steak was perfectly cooked to what I asked for, huge chunks of creamy bleu cheese, and trimmings to make your momma cry. My wife had the salmon and wanted seconds. It was expertly cooked, not overly fishy, and well paired with the vegetables and sauce. My parents had a custom pizza, ate it all and commented they wanted more. My father never eats the crust, because of a stomach condition, but he finished all of it this time. Casual atmosphere, good food and well priced. Access is a little difficult, there only one access point to the strip mall on 700 East and it's not apparent or convenient, but worth the hassle. We will be back.
(5)Mike N.
Definitely not unhappy with the food and service here. Though not exactly what you would classify as a soccer bar, even though they are an official pub sponsor with RSL. They have the game on two of three televisions with no sound. Soccer aside, it is probably the best pizza you will find in Draper. It is a great use of this location. Fairly fast service for being packed on a Saturday night. The atmosphere is pretty nice, and I much prefer the pizza to Pizzeria Limone. I'll probably be back here again.
(4)S S.
Pesto Salmon was cooked perfectly very moist and flavorful long with the mashed potatoes and grilled white carrots and asparagus. My husband ordered the meat pizza it was perfect with that touch of spicy chipotle sauce. The food here is awesome!!
(4)Gregg M.
My favorite pizza style is Neapolitan thin crust pizza. Any pizza restaurant review should at least start with some statement about what you like, since pizza comes in so many different styles. At my previous house, I built my own backyard wood fired brick pizza oven for cooking my own pizza, and Neapolitan is the style I tried to replicate. So when a local colleague told me about Oak Pizza, I knew a had to check it out. This place is the real deal. I watched them throw pizza dough and it was exactly as I used to do it... Stretch the dough until it was windowpane transparent by tossing and stretching with your knuckles. I almost wanted to jump behind the counter and throw a few pies, myself. We started our dinner with the "junk fries" which were supposedly very popular. Fries with melted blue cheese, bacon, caramelized onion and two dipping sauces. I can see why some people like them. I thought they were just ok, but not really my cup of tea. I did like the dipping sauce. If you like things like chili fries and also blue cheese, you would probably like these. Truth is, you cannot help but get soggy fries when they are smothered with caramelized onions and melted cheese. Not the restaurants fault as they are probably true to form. If I had to order an appetizer again, I would try the wings instead. No problem and no effect on my review since I didn't come here for fries... What we really came for was the pizza. It was exactly as I like it. Crispy slightly blackened bottom and top rim with a chewy bite that I used to strive for when I owned my own home built backyard pizza oven. My kinda pizza, for sure! Topping were good and not overly "loaded" on the two varieties we tried. Some believe that there should never be more than one or two toppings on any pizza. I think most of the choices had about three toppings which is close enough, in my book. Thin crust pizza can't hold up any more than that. The atmosphere in this place had a wonderful local, friendly vibe. A local treasure hidden amongst a plethora of common chain restaurants and average fare. Please do not patronize this establishment so I can continue to eat here in peace, again, and again, and again. The staff was young, attentive, and energetic without trying to "fake it". Friendly, too. My guess is they like working there, and it shows. No "pieces of flair" in this place, if you know what I mean. Kudos, Oak Wood Fired Kitchen. You definitely earned my respect and future patronage.

So if I were on death row, I would consider this place to be one of my last meals. Finally a place I'll return to when visiting this area. Should you do the intelligent thing, order it's bread, pizza, salmon, meatball sliders, or anything. In fact, my kids ate all their food. That never happens.

Junk fries; hummus plate (with bacon jelly); seared salmon with pesto; margarita pizza; DEEE-LISH!! Such a pleasant surprise to find a new restaurant with great food; hip atmosphere; great service. Highly recommend.

Our dinner group of retired educators have been trying different restaurants over the years. It was my turn to pick the monthly location and I turned to Yelp for suggestions. Everyone in the group loved this place. The fries were homemade perfectly with aioli sauce and another spicier sauce. Delish!! Plenty to share. Several had various pizzas and enjoyed them all. The rest of us had the spaghetti Cooked in a basil mariner sauce. The meatballs were moist and plentiful. You MUST try the cookie dessert that they cook in a pan and top with ice cream, drizzled with blended chocolate and caramel syrup. You'll do the happy dance right out the door. I wish I remembered our servers name. He was top notch. Tall, very friendly bald guy. He made us all want to return with our families. He was that nice and experienced. I'll be back soon. Put this on your bucket list if you haven't yet gone.

On our search for the best pizza in Salt Lake we found Oak. Found it because of yelp. Exceeded my expectation and would highly recommend to anyone. Great atmosphere, location is a bit hidden and the street to get there is a little tricky at first. Great customer service, kid friendly staff, comfortable setting. We liked the house salad - great dressing. We tried three different pizzas, one #77, Margherita, and the special (steak and chipotle sauce). Also the spaghetti and meatballs. Love the flavor of the crust, and the excellent sauce. My kids and I Loved the meatballs. If you go make sure to try out the cookie and ice cream skillet. Will definitely go back. We haven't declared a winner yet (for best pizza in SLC) but absolutely a top finalist.

Went here late one night trying to find something different. It is definitely geared towards pizza, but I fell in love with the calamari. The portion sizes are very adequate, so much that I ate the calamari as my main entrée and still had plenty of portions left over. The pizza making was enjoyable to watch, and we would definitely be back again for the pizza. The only comment I would have to say as to why this did not get five stars, was a girl who is making the pizza. we were sitting at the bar, right where we could watch all the action of them making the dough in the pizzas. I felt bad for some of the staff, for one girl sure had a acerbic tongue and was not shy and using it. It was sad to hear fellow employees to be degraded so especially in front of the customers. Go for the food, not for the personal interactions. The atmosphere was very nice and enough big screens to catch the latest spots action, and we would definitely go again. Go for the food, not for the personal interactions. The food is definitely Worth it, just stay away from the girl with the red hair and feel bad for her fellow employees. We went again the other night, and the pizza is still out of this world. The red head is still making pizzas but she was almost friendly so that's a huge improvement.

Great new restaurant in Draper. We've been meaning to try Oak since it opened a few weeks ago and last night was the first time we are able to make it. Food is great and something the area definitely needed. Great appetizers, you must try the Baked Goat Cheese! The Pizza's are exactly as you'd expect from a wood oven, tons of flavor, incredible crust with spots of awesome char. Our kids loved it too! Give it a try, you'll love the place. We will be back often!

This place really impressed me. We had the goat cheese and oak bread appetizer and it was delicious. We ordered The big chair pizza and the B.a.T. They were both so good but the B.a.T pizza is amazing! I can't wait to eat it again. To top it off we had the hot cookie and cream for dessert and I couldn't have asked for anything better. I left so full and happy- we will definitely go back.

The restaurant has great potential and the service was great but the food had issues. We had the fries appetizer and they were pretty good but mostly because of the garlic aioli. We ordered three pizzas and they were all burnt. Two of the us got gluten free (a $7 up charge which almost doubles the price). The gluten free ones were remade because they were black and were then undercooked. Basically I don't recommend this place.

Excellent Italian style thin crust pizza. Great environment and atmosphere. The waitress was friendly. Will definitely eat here again.

Disappointed. When we were seated, there were a couple of children literally running through the restaurant for 10 minutes. They were either the owner's kids or family/friends. Management did nothing to curtail it. The humus appetizer was good. The arugula salad was just lettuce with a light and sparse dressing served on a Flatbread. Nothing else, nothing impressive, not a large serving, yet it was $12. Thirty minutes after we finished our salad, we inquired where our pizza was. The server said it would be out any minute. After another 15 minutes had passed, I flagged down the hostess and asked her to check. It wasn't even in the oven yet. The place wasn't that busy. We cancelled, paid for our salad and appetizer, and left. We were looking forward to trying the pizza but we had been in the restaurant for an hour already. In conclusion, this place is an overpriced gourmet pizza restaurant wannabe with a very small uninteresting menu. Poor service, and blah atmosphere.

Delicious wings and pizza. Great atmosphere and style. Looking forward to coming back again soon for some more great food. Go check it out!

We ordered the salmon - I can't eat pizza - and my husband ordered the steak. It took an hour. The salmon was average with limp veggies and the steak was dry. Save your money.

Nice to have a pizza pasta restaurant in Draper. Great beer selection. I've ordered their pizza several times I wish the crust was a little more done. My wife is gluten intolerant and they charged us an additional seven dollars for the gluten-free pizza. It's great they offer this but it seems like an overcharge.

We absolutely love this place! We go there for jazz games. The food is awesome and well priced. Plus they have $3 draft beers. We love the pizza and pasta.

Great ambiance and really good service! The food was good but nothing amazing. The calamari was a bit too over seasoned for me and overcooked. It was rubbery and the breading was so seasoned I couldn't taste the delicate flavor of the calamari. The appetizer with three dips was good, but not amazing. The margarita pizza was good but a little too saucey. I was with a group of 11 and out of all the pizzas we ordered the one with sausage and canadian bacon was the best. Half of them were burnt. I like a bit of char but it was too much. The best part about the meal was the pizza dough (those that werent burnt) The cookie dessert was okay but nothing to write home about but a fun place nevertheless.

I really don't know how this place has four stars. We were in the mood to try something new and haven't been here yet. The service was horrible. Our server would take our drink order then disappear for about ten minutes. When our food was finally ready she dropped it off and didn't come back for about another 15 minutes. I ordered the pork sliders and it was decent. They had pretty good aioli but that was about the only good thing there. We also tried the Oak bread and it was so plain and did not come with any sauce, it honestly just had no taste. In the end, it's just not good.

The pork sliders were tasteless and terrible! The $18 steak was so/so, but definitely not a $20 steak. When the best part of your meal is the fries you know it's not good.

I was happy as could be with my dinner at Oak Wood Fire Kitchen. Pleasantly surprised & looking forward to going back. My husband & I split the wedge salad. The blue cheese dressing on it was fantastic. Then we shared an appetizer that had flatbread, hummus & BACON JAM. The hummus was not the best, but with a little addition of bacon jam, it was awesome. Our pizza was likewise tasty & flavorful. The sauce was perfect with the taste of fresh tomatoes & the crust was tender & crispy. We went with two other couples, who were likewise happy with salads, apps, & pizzas. The inside is upscale & trendy. I'm happy to see a place like this come to Draper.

A little pricey, but the wait staff and kitchen crew were awesome. Great desserts!

I am giving them 5 stars because overall the food, ambiance, service and experience was sharp. Yeah it's no Vinto but still good overall. When I review a restaurant the total experience is important to me. If something is off then 5 stars isn't appropriate. I am trying to get away from what I could do at home. This was that. Wine, beer and cocktails makes this a step up from just a good family pizza place. With sports on the tv's it really makes it a decent place to hang with friends. We will be back to try some entrees next time.

Don't get me wrong - it's a fine place. It's attractive and the cooking is solid. The menu is what bores me - yadayadayada roasted chicken, woodfired pizza, and a meatball (good flavor, a little dry and tough). What KILLS me about eating out in SLC (esp. South Valley) is all the potential for greatness and none of the delivery. I will totally grant that it's fine for what it is but I wouldn't go back and I wouldn't recommend it to friends. Because at the end of the day, dinner for two that costs $40.00 and isn't any better than the chicken and salad I make at home just isn't worth a special trip. Oh, and even though they leave olive oil & balsamic on your table, they charge you $4.00 for bread. Lame. The service was good though - I'll totally give them that.

Really enjoy his place. I've been a few times and I love the GAB and the goat cheese app. The family loves this place as much as I do.
