It's cafeteria style, a big thing in many parts of Europe. Great quality food! Organic food for babies and kids. Super soups. The salmon is moist and delish! The chocolate cake? Divine!! We've tried almost ever dish and have always been satisfied.

I like to eat here. Not sure if it's to feel closer to the Swedish ancestors or the meatballs. I like the salmon, ribs and meatballs. The breakfasts are pretty decent for the value. That being said....they really need to hire more compitent people in that kitchen! They are slow, they run out of hot food and make you wait while they are heating up more. They'll have one person working the line and a couple more wandering around aimlessly. How bout they wash their hands and help the person on line out! Especially when they're serving a family of 10 and the line is backjng up! Unacceptable. If your going to do it, do it right! We do like the Family membership which allows for free hot chocolate for the family.

Not as good a value as I remember. The meatballs & potatoes are always great. If it's your first time here, just accept the fact that you are getting them, and that you will like them. The Caesar salad was the worst I've had: limp lettuce, soggy croutons, stale chicken. The Greek chicken orzo soup is really good. The turkey ham & cheese panini is ... a grilled ham & cheese sandwich. It's not a real panini, but not bad either. The grilled chicken fingers are pretty standard fare. I like the breaded French fries that come with a lot of meals. For dessert, that chocolate overload cake is pretty great, but be careful cause they can sit out for a long time and get a stale layer on top so be choosy. Overall, the food is cafeteria food, but not as bad as middle school food was by any means. The food cost more than I expected, and wasn't the great value I remember. So if you've been lost wandering in the store for hours and are famished, sure, stop by and grab a bite. But definitely don't come here just for the meal.

I couldn't eat here everyday but it's really nice to have the restaurant in the store since you're gonna be in the store for a while! I usually get the Swedish meatball meal (mashed potatoes, gravy and ligonberry sauce) which is good. Tip - they also sell jars of Gerber baby food in case you need it!

I love Ikea's Swedish meatballs. I could eat them all day everyday. The prices here are good, and the food is overall decent. Also, lingonberry soda!

OK, so no one probably goes to IKEA just to eat their food (however I have a couple friends in Europe who'd do that!) But when you're shopping at IKEA, and you want to take a little break, the IKEA restaurant is a fun place to stop and munch on something before you search for another piece of simple furniture again. So what should you get while you stumble upon IKEA restaurant? Two words: APPLE CAKE! (see photo!) I know their apple cake is not fresh homemade goodness, but the reality is that it's consistent and tasty, and better than many of the "fresh" cakes out there in stores and restaurants!

OK this is for anyone who grew up on fifteen cent Dee Burgers or who think White Castle burgers are scrumptious. You're gonna love IKEA's offerings. As for me- I'm addicted to those little Swedish meatballs in the Elmer's glue paste. The veggies are there to add a sense of healthy dieting for those of us who have clogged most of our major arteries. And yes, they totally don't get the concept of a slotted spoon, watering down the mashed potatos as they deftly sling the plate at your head. My one true gripe is the half n half, cream or sour gluten they provide for their coffee (which ain't half bad) I don't know what that creamer is made of but it isn't in the dairy section. Truth is I'm downrating this little culinary secret so you won't go there, leaving more space for me. You can hang out downstairs if you like, pick up a couple of their hot dogs, that'll lock your jaws- get some for the kiddies too. Grab a couple of their yogurt cones while you're at it, they melt in your mouth and hours later that sweet gummy vibe is still lingering. Cheap? You bet. Filling? Oh yeah. Tasty? What? You want it all?

I've now eaten at the IKEA restaurant 3 times and have been disappointed each time. At first I thought it was just the management getting the bugs worked out of the system that accounted for the lack of food quality, poor facilities management and sloppy presentation of the food. Now, after 3 visits in 3 weeks on different days and times I'm not so sure it isn't simply poor attention from the management. I say this because I've eaten at IKEA restaurants in Seattle, Vancouver, 3 locations in southern California and one in northern California. All these other restaurants were a very pleasant and the food was wonderful. Both times I had dinner (of meatballs and vegetables) the meatballs were cold and the vegetables were served without the liquid being drained from the full non-slotted spoon, creating a watery mess on the plate. The staff behind the counter seemed as if they were zombified or drugged. The cashiers were pleasantly smiling and capable of cashiering, which was the one bright spot in the experience. On both occasions eating after noon the soda dispensers were out of carbonation and all the soft drinks were served flat. No warning from the staff in advance of dispensing a dreadfully flat soda. ON opening day they were out of fruit punch, the only drink not dependent on the carbonation. Upon alerting a staff member of the situation on my second visit the response was, "oh yeah, it's been that way for a while." My thought was, "yeah, for over a WEEK!" Breakfast on a Saturday morning was particularly disappointing. When shopping for kitchen cabinets in California a few years ago it was the easiest thing to do to stop into the restaurant 30 minutes before the store opened and grab a bite. The breakfast there was fresh, hot and delicious. Not so in the Draper IKEA restaurant last weekend. The eggs had the consistency of chopped tofu and were tasteless. I have no idea what kind of liquefied egg-type product they were using but it didn't resemble scrambled eggs like I've eaten in ANY restaurant ANYwhere. The potatoes were dry, cold and somewhat rubbery. As if they had been re-heated from last week's overages. They were simply unpalatable. The bacon strips did, in fact taste like bacon, but they were wadded up and, though overcooked, were not crispy. On the sunny side of breakfast the coffee was good. However, I think in the future I'll skip the breakfast before shopping and have my IKEA coffee at home.

I was impressed with this little food court. I personally would come here more often if it weren't so far! It's much better than a big Mac, or french fries. Prices were reasonable (kids meals for $3.99, or free on Tuesdays!) and they have a good looking bunch buffet on Sundays - I think it was $7.99 (or $8.99, can't remember the exact price). They also had good vegetarian dishes, and all dishes came with delicious steamed vegetables. The kids loved it!

Love ikea. Great place to shop for inexpensive furniture. And little gadgets, it is nice to have a restaurant where you can grab a quick breakfast or lunch and if you have a toddler, you can shop with ease with their courtesy playground. : )

Ill start my review by saying that i do love the meatballs! That being said, this pleace really is just medeocure at best. I dont expect much, being that it is a warehouse store cafeteria, but they could do better with all the equipment they have in there. I ate here a couple days in a row and then a couple more times the following week because we were in the process of fully furnishing out house, so i had a few different specials, and none of them were anywhere as good as the meatballs. I do like the longonberry soda.

Don't EVER come here on a Tuesday. It's kids eat free day - which is the most asinine thing to exist in Utah. These Mormon mommies practically bankrupt IKEA feeding all 9 of their kids for free. It's madness. As far as their average products like curtains and kitchen accessories I think that ikea is a better choice then Walmart. I do like their selection and the showroom is always fun. It's a nice day if you happen in during non kid hours. Which is like before noon during the week. Don't even bother coming in the summer because you'll probably try to hurt someone. If you're going to make a day of it and you have Xanax on hand it's really not a bad deal. I have a lot of furniture and stuff from here because it is well priced. I don't think the quality is that far off either. And the food is fine for the price. I even would go so far as to say I like it. I just hate kids... I'm sorry I really do and it's one of my biggest pet peeves about Utah. People start young and they take their kids everywhere. This place is no exception.

Ikea's in store restaurant is convenient and not all that bad either. I wouldn't order the hot items (Swedish Meatballs included) or desserts but I do like their cold salmon plates and simple salads. Because the cold plates are pre-prepared, things could be more fresh but it seems like they take great effort in keeping things as fresh as possible.

The food quality at this place has plummeted since it opened a few years back. Don't know what happened, but it used to be fairly tasty. Not anymore.

I like this place. I like that they have specials, despite that I have never taken advantage of them. I like that there are plenty of highchairs and even a little tv/play area for restless kiddos that are done eating so parents can eat in peace. That is, if these kiddos are not already having a blast in SMALAND. Cheap date for parents of potty trained kids: Drop the kids at the free SMALAND, wander around IKEA for a while, ala (500) Days of Summer, and then finish off your date with a cheap dinner at the IKEA restaurant which incidentally has a great view of the magnificent Utah mountains. Also, for you haters, IKEA furniture possesses thoughtful design and packaging which is non-existent in your local RC Please-Kill-Me. There are options at all price points, some being sturdier than others, but IMO this is a good quality. Sometimes you just need to furnish your studio for like 500 bucks, and here you can do it without selling your soul to Wal*Mart. The giant warehouse design and mass-produced items are part of the business plan to make good design affordable and easily accessible to the public. Mission accomplished, IKEA.

I have to admit that on more than one occasion I have gone to IKEA ONLY for the french fries. Call it gross but I have them put them in a to go box with gravy in one of the little compartments and lindonberry jam (or whatever it is) in the other compartment. It's like the worst thing for you but it's oh so good. I tell everybody I know about this deliciousness. Macaroni & cheese, pasta, and whatever else they have is not bad but not great. But oh man, the fries are good.

Once a week we got to ikea whether we feel like spending a load of cash on their functional and frugal goods or not. Why? For the 1.99 all you can eat pasta night on Mondays! Not much more to say. Everything I've ever had from the eatery was incredibly delicious, I'm addicted to the zucchini marinara, which it turned out you could buy by the jar downstairs, and also the strawberry cake (which you could also buy but I have yet to do so). What you are getting is really a smart design totally built around the concepts of efficiency, sustainability, function, and of course common courtesy, just like the rest of ikea. The selection is flexible, allowing you to get pretty much any combination of the items they offer, and the whole experience is no-nonsense. The staff there treat us very nicely, even before they started recognizing us as regulars. Despite the unfailingly excessive amounts of unsupervised and untethered children running around (and their clueless parents equally as often getting in your way whilst wandering about the place), it keeps bringing us back every week.

I am writing this review under the assumption that no sane person would enter IKEA just to eat in the restaurant. If you are that kind of person I will save you some time--you're gonna hate this review. Entering IKEA means giving up a piece of your soul, IMHO. I just can't fathom how big and boxy and mass-oriented this place is. I know that it serves a purpose--college students and Swedes need a place to shop for wastebaskets. I did buy some lovely CD racks there, but I'd be happy if I never entered again. IKEA obviously has to have a place to eat inside. The store is sooo damn big that it would be illegal to not provide food or first aid to those who enter. I'd like to suggest IKEA lagwagons that could follow the old & infirm around the store: "Middle aged man down in sector 4! Get some bamboo salad tongs and a sack of frozen lingon berries here stat!" The food in the IKEA cafeteria is similar to what you might get in a Swedish reform school. There is the usual selection of meatballs, salmon, pasta, etc. You can "treat" yourself to a Lingonberry soda if you like sodas that taste like jelly. Have fun bussing your own tray and table and doing all the thinking for the animatrons working there. The employees are fed a low level of Mercury by IKEA to keep their intellectual curiosity at a minimum. It's sad what a yellow shirt and minimum wage can do to a person. I wonder if the awful quality of the food at IKEA says more about the Swedes opinion of Americans...or the Swedes opinion of food in general. I need to poll some actual Swedes to gain insight. In the meantime, don't eat at IKEA. I recommend bringing your own sustenance if you're gonna be shopping close to mealtime.

IKEA's cafeteria is bland. So very, very bland. It's cheap, though. I've eaten there on the few occasions that I have been trapped inside IKEA, unable to find my way out and have gotten so hungry that I would have eaten anything and loved it. The fries are pretty tasty and I don't mind the meatballs too much, but everything else is just blech.

Great place to shop, but the cafe sucks. Virtually nothing on the menu, and what it has is totally un-appetizing

I came to Ikea on a Sunday morning due to my desperate need for bedding at my new place. When we stepped into the store, I immediately smelled cinnamon rolls which, to my empty stomach, was too enticing to pass up. We walked upstairs and I decided I wanted to try the breakfast, even though my friend told me that the eggs were disgusting. And then we saw the posting on the wall - FREE BREAKFAST ON SUNDAY MORNINGS. Yeah! But then I saw that the original price for their breakfast with bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns was only $.99...not presenting much confidence in the quality of the food, there, Ikea. But surprisingly, the food wasn't absolutely terrible. Honestly, you can't have high expectations for food that's so cheap, but for what you pay for, it's really not bad. The cinnamon rolls were decent, and they were only about $1.29. So if you're in the store shopping anyway and get hungry, you might as well hit up the restaurant.
