If you are looking for some Chinese food that is simple, yet taste great - this is a great place if you are in the area. I wouldn't make a special run (Hint for example those In-and-out Burger junkies). They have a great variety of food, and portions that accommodate sharing. Spicy dishes are mellow, which is good for those who want to experiment. Staff is friendly and will not charge you in you need a little extra of an item, for example, white rice.

I crave this place! Their food is very good and very reasonably priced. I used to like panda express, now I have a hard time eating there after eating at La Choi's. Our family of 4 ate there for around $30, and that was including tip. There was plenty of leftovers to have another meal.

I ordered the Sweet and sour chicken. Yeah shouldn't I branch out? No. I know if that item is to my liking other things will be too. The place had a weird energy. The music was loud. I liked their egg roll. It was longer than most. Their wontons tasted different than I have had and the sauce was gross so I got the waiter to give me sauce on the side for my entree thinking it might be the same. It wasn't. My entree sauce was decent. The chicken was weird tasting and dry. The fried shrimp was doughy. I swear the fried rice was uncle bens or the soy sauce was Kari out. There was no flavor to the soy or rice after putting it on. The rice was way orange and the texture was weird. Lately these restaurants wanna save money and horrible soy is something they choose. 2 stars for customer service and no food poisoning. The waiter was super nice.

Definitely our favorite Chinese food in this area and some of the best anywhere. Reasonable prices and always delicious food. We have eaten in but very seldom as we usually grab take out from here after work at least once or twice every week. The family that owns this place is great. Very friendly and happy to get you whatever you need. I like to talk football with the 2 brothers when I come in to pick up my order. Our favorites are the noodles (both beef and chicken curry are awesome). Firecracker chicken is delicious and their soups are excellent too!

Went here because it is one of the few Chinese/American restaurants left in the area. I like these restaurants for their American options like Breaded Veal and Chicken fried steak. I got the breaded veal and got frozen patties smothered in gravy with mashed potatoes and veg. Most of these places bread fresh veal and cook fresh so frozen was a sad surprise. Service was good but it appeared the one server was handling hosting and all waitress duties. The atmosphere is dingy, tables had a coat of oil on them, and the place smelled old and musty. On the bright side, the wife got as Asian seafood dish that she found very enjoyable and the portion was big enough that she ate for three days.

This place reminds me of those older Chinese restaurants that sit one spot for many years, and it has a somewhat run down look on both inside and outside, which fits that description even more. The service is about what you would expect in most small family run Chinese restaurants. They do start you with an interesting larger-than-average wonton chips with very thick sweet & sour sauce. The regular dishes they got here is on the mediocre scale for regular American Chinese dishes. A unique thing they got here to offer is their soup-based noodles, which is similar to Pho, but with a non-authentic Chinese touch to it. The House noodle had everything in it, chicken, shrimp, barbeque pork, and assorted veggies. I was a little disappointed with the choice of noodles, since they used the thick chow mein noodles used in American Chinese dishes instead of the thin egg noodles used in authentic dishes. The soup broth was a little too saucy for me. One interesting dish worth mentioning is the Curry Chicken Noodles, it reminds me of the Japanese Curry Udon, and the dish worked very well like a big bowl Chinese curry with thick noodles in it. I have mixed feeling for La Choi, as their regular menu items are on the mediocre side, but they offer some unique items such as Chinese soup noodles. When I return, I would probably stick to their noodles section.

This is a very simple neighborhood Chinese restaurant. I tend to like their chef specials like General Tso or Sizzling Hong Kong Steak as they use the best meat so for chicken it is all white meat. They have some really good specials every so often as well the Firecracker Chicken they have now is great if you like spice. The service is very friendly.

This is a five star restaurant when compared to its competition: the dozens of home grown Chinese restaurants scattered in cities around Utah. I am a Chinese food junkie, and have eaten in almost every mom and pop Chinese restaurant between Ogden and SLC, and this is one of the best. It's not because of a menu filled with new and unusual items, it has the same things you would come to expect at a typical Chinese restaurant. The difference is how it tastes. All of the sauces are made from scratch, many recipes are old family recipes, and the food is always fresh and well prepared. I have been a regular here for years, often two or three times a week for lunch (it is near my work) , and have never gotten tired of their food. My favorites are any of the spicy dishes, but I usually just rotate through the entire menu. I LOVE the hot and sour soup, and sometimes just buy a large bowl (a bargain, only $4.00 and it is HUGE, you will have some to take home). Their noodle bowls are also good. The owners, Choi Choi and his wife do all of the cooking so the food quality is very consistent. Check it out, you won't regret it!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
