We have patronized Silver Fork for decades. We went there last week to find the menu filled with fancy schmancy entrees, and pricy appetizers. Quite a change from the homey atmosphere of the past. And the server was anything but accomodating.

After an afternoon drive through the canyons, how can you resist not stepping into the Silver Fork Lodge? Especially if you have guests from out of town, the SFL fills the square. The fire is a-crackling, the leaves are a-shimmering, and the fresh baked bread is a-mahzing! Order the Ballentine Zinfandel for a delicious complement to the exceptionally tasting meatloaf and homemade mashed potatoes. The herb crusted salmon had a perfect caramelized sear on it. The fella had the pork tenderloin special, and it too was a winner. Comfort food, cooked and served up old school on grandma style plates. You owe it to yourself to come here and appreciate the beauty Utah has to offer, complete with a cozy local dinner lodge!

I loved this place. Not only is the atmosphere amazing but the staff is what made it 5 stars. I can honestly say that it has been a very long time since I have had such great customer service. They where very friendly and accommodating. Thanks Krista, Tim, and Robby!!!

We ate lunch at the Silver Fork Lodge, a nice venue on a beautiful highway. My wife had the turkey chili, which she loved, and I had the French dip. My sandwich was terrible. 50% of the beef was pure fat. When I complained to the waitress on the way out she just shrugged me off. I regretted eating it all the way down the mountain.

Right before you get to Solitude ski resort (and on the way to Brighton) so great stop for eats if going to either location -- good food, amazing views, and super friendly & helpful owner. Our car got a bit stuck in the snow and he hitched up his snowplow and pulled us right out. I'm a fan!!

Awesome breakfast. Nothing better than sitting outside on the balcony on a beautiful fall day and eating an amazing breakfast. I had the banana foster french toast and the wife had the salmon eggs benedict. Both were everything I had hoped. The only reason that they don't get 5 stars is because the service could be better. Very friendly staff, but it takes a long time to get food....

Traditionally, we take our out of town guests up here, to experience the beauty of the mountains. Last Sunday, we arrived, put our names in and were told we had a forty five minute wait. Okay. Thankfully, it was about twenty minutes. But....a large party had arrived just ahead of us, looked like some sort of birthday party. Unfortunately, we ended up waiting 45 minutes for our food! We looked around and most tables had no food, either, meaning the large party was taking up all of the kitchen's time. Our server, Chris, a very nice young man, apologized for the long wait but to wait an hour for breakfast is ridiculous! Silver Fork needs to know its limits, it's evident that the kitchen can not handle a large party, plus the Sunday brunch crowd. Food? The corn beef hash is still the best in SLC, however, something's wrong in the kitchen because the eggs Benedict were mediocre, at best. They need to take a look at the kitchen and make some adjustments.

Superb burgers! Service was a bit slow but the view and ambiance made it worth it. Also a big fan of the outdoor heaters and blankets. Will be back again!

I remembered the corned beef hash & eggs breakfast from years ago. That memory was worth a repeat visit this time with my wife and kids. The biggest difference was that somebody else must have been paying last time. $85 for breakfast for my little family of four. They charged me $5 a piece for juice for my kids! Again that's $10 just for a couple cups of apple juice. Do they have no concept of how cheap apple juice is? I can buy GALLONS of apple juice from my grocer for $10!!! Give me a break. My plate was $12 and I'll be honest; it was fantastic. My wife got the eggs benne and was comparably pleased. My kids? Once again gypped. They have no kids menu for breakfast items. They do have a kids menu, but it has lunch items. So, what do you do if you want to feed your kids breakfast here? Order à la carte of course $4 for 2 eggs, and $4 more for 1 pancake. Did I mention my $12 breakfast came with 2 eggs, a generous helping of their wonderful corned beef mixed into their hash browns, and a side bread of my choice? The food here is fine really, no surprises. However if I'm paying more money to get less food for my kids than I'm getting for myself; there is a problem! As for the mountain views mentioned in some of the other reviews. If you get there early you're probably fine, but we got there hungry at 9:15 am and were told there would be a 30 min wait. Salt lake gives you so many better options than this for breakfast. I can't figure out how anyone would end up here if they knew better, and hey now you do!

One of the best breakfasts around and a favorite when we are in Utah! The sourdough cakes are amazing and I loved the seared trout and eggs. Breakfast outside on the porch is divine. Can get very busy on the weekends and food is a little slow to come out, but worth it. We always get a fresh cinnamon roll to keep the family happy. This year they had humming bird feeders and it is amazing how close you can get to them. Get a seat on the rail if you love the wildlife!

Two outdoor eating patios are the best places for summer grub, winter in Cottonwood Canyon, not so much! This is one of the older places to eat near SLC and after a morning of hiking, biking, kayaking or merely driving up the canyon to watch people hiking, biking or kayaking, this is worthy of a stop and your cash. Dark inside, like a real tavern, lots of very old pictures showing the joints history. Very cool. Immediately greeted and offered various seating options. Friendly service from front desk, to servers, to water guys. Beautiful views from rear patios and very relaxed sitting. Food is fresh, plenty of choice and quite delish. My boys went with burgers, fries and typical teenage choices and I, trying to set a good example, had a salad. Crispy, well presented and very good. Setting a rather bad example, I tried a couple of local ales which were exceptional and I'm going back in ski season to sit INSIDE.

Boring food. Feels like I'm eating at a hotel restaurant that caters to weddings. Service is spotty and uninformed. The ONLY redeeming factor is the view but that isn't enough to sway me to come back if I'm ever back in SLC area. In surprised this is considered four star plus on Yelp. Come on Yelpers...

This is my second time here and I love the decor and beauty of the mountains. This time the service was OK. I had to wait approximately 5 minutes just for a hostess and the restaurant was only quarter full. My waitress was MIA throughout the dinner. I ordered the baby back ribs. The BBQ sauce is great but the meat was mostly fat. I also had the mash potatoes and they were homemade and good. They plated everything on a small plate which made it difficult to cut the ribs. I ended up placing my finger in the mash potatoes. On top of this, during cutting of the ribs the force required moved then pushing potatoes off the plate or the ribs would move off the plate. The coleslaw was ok. My first dinner here and service was much better.

This might be my favorite place on our lovely planet. The outside dining area is so beautiful right out in the canyon and trees. I brought a friend visiting from California for lunch after a hike. It got a little chilly so they brought us blankets and hot chocolate (we added baileys) Amazing experience. Love the food! I would recommend this place to anyone

Had the Vegan Lasagna and the Meat Loaf, as good as home cooking. The staff was friendly, service was excellent, atmosphere warm. Staying at the Brighton Lodge for 5 days....ate here 3 times and will always come back when I come to Brighton for Skiing.

Great atmosphere for lunch in the mountains. I love the grapefruit hefeweizen! Sweet citrus undertones equals delicious!!!! Decor is that of an older cabin. Outside patio can get hot exposed to the sun. The chili verde seems popular but I opted for lighter fare of the portabello mushroom sandwich with a side salad. Overall nice place to stop when up Big Cottonwood Canyon.

Well, lets start by saying food poisoning! What a well positioned, off the grid place to make someone ill. Amazing view? Not really! Tons of places you can go in these mountains that offer much more than shitty overflowing bathrooms, unclean rooms and managers that think to seem they owe you something for showing up. Don' t let the home style feel take your once in a life time breath-a- way. This place deserves a big ass nothing. Stay somewhere else.

Wow... What a memorable meal I had at Silver Fork. I have a smile on my face just thinking about the incredible views, the fresh mountain air, the cozy atmosphere, and the delicious food. Oh... and of course the company too! Thank you Jeffrey S for taking me to this amazing little gem just a short drive from downtown SLC. We went for weekday breakfast during the off season and it felt like an escape from reality... We sat on the patio and there was a slight chill in the air but it was balanced out by the sun shining down on us. The leaves were changing color at the time, and it was so gorgeous, I could have spent the day there looking out in awe at the natural beauty. Service was spot on and food was delicious. I highly recommend the buckwheat pancakes... I cleaned my plate too soon to take advantage of the syrup tip I learned as I watched Jeffrey eat his sourdough pancake (ask him about that). I'll follow his lead next time though... and yes, there will be a next time. Silver Fork is worth the trip!

Great atmosphere. We were just here for lunch. I had the trout salad and it was awesome. Mashed potatoes are better than homemade, and the berry cobbler was hot and delicious. We'll be back

Breathe in, deeply. Smell the mountain air. The glorious scent of pine and dark earth. Then catch a hint of sweet maple syrup, crispy hash browns and fresh, thick sourdough pancakes. Of bacon. Listen for the clinking of fork to plate, the sounds of friends speaking deliberately. The only rush is the water in the creek tumbling down the mountain. The leaves rustle, the hot coffee comes out of the pot, and you are eating weekday breakfast at Silver Fork. Good gracious, that patio. That view. Breathe in, deeply. The cold air invigorates your lungs and your arms, legs, and every muscle in your body twitches in anticipation. The swish of ski pants all around you, the cackle of the fire sings its bouncing melody in the fireplace and the naked trees meet the sunshine with open arms to cast long shadows across glittery pillows of snow. There's a hop to your step but you force yourself to sit and nourish yourself before attacking the slopes. A hearty omelet. A glass--make that two--of ice cold orange juice fills your belly. What slopes? Wait! The powder! Check, please! Breathe in, deeply. It will be worse in the morning, but now the dull ache is a sweet reminder of the day's adventure. A subtle scent of sweet sweat sticks to your shell. A mark of pride. The skis. The snowboard. The snowshoes. Leave them in the back of the SUV (that's why you bought it, right?) and pull over for dinner. Juicy ribs. Brisket. Meat loaf. Pasta. So you have my mother in the kitchen, do you? Wine. More wine. Wait. We have a room. Waiter, more wine please. Silver Fork Lodge is all these things. A rustic breakfast spot where weekdays move at mountain pace. A pre-ski fuelup for the hungry and a post-ski stop for food and warm cheeks. A lodge with rustic rooms and bed-and-breakfast amenities. Take someone you love. Take strangers. Take time to enjoy what is so uniquely Utah, so uniquely Salt Lake City that you may be taking it for granted. Late breakfasts. Bustling on the weekends. Beautiful. Breathe it in. Deeply.

This is my favorite place for breakfast anywhere. The eggs are always perfectly cooked and they have the best bacon I have ever had. Incredible mountain views and good coffee. It's a great place to start your morning. If you are traveling to the Salt Lake City area put Silver Fork on your list.

Disappointing. Burger was a frozen patty with wilted produce. Pork sandwich was soggy. Great view.

Food is pretty good. Considering there are no other options, it's quite exceptional. I'm sure I'm an impatient city folk but I can't believe how slow they are. We ate here twice during our stay. The first time we waited over an hour for a table when they told us 20 minutes tops. So we came at 5pm the second time. Third table sat in the whole place. Didn't get our check until 7pm. Just be prepared for really slow but very friendly service and you'll be fine

Every year on Mother's Day and my birthday, Hubby asks where I want to go for breakfast and/or dinner. The answer is always the same - Silver Fork, please. It's a bit of a drive up the canyon, unless you're already there, but so very worth it. Not just for the Silver Fork experience, either. It's a beautiful canyon! If you're lucky enough to visit in the summertime, do request a table outside - the view is breathtaking. The dozen or so hummingbird feeders positioned around the deck keep you entertained, if nothing else. In the colder months, they make it so nice to sit by the huge fireplace in their main dining room. Try the hot chocolate if you're not a coffee drinker. If you are like me, and regularly pray to the coffee gods, this place really knows how to do a cuppa coffee right! Main reason is, they serve Salt Lake Roasting Company coffee...ohhhhhh... Their breakfasts are arguably the best part of their menu. They offer Sourdough Flapjacks, Buckwheat Pancakes, Salmon Benedict, Trout & Eggs, cheddar grits, and some of the best Gigantic Cinnamon Rolls ever. 'Nuff said? I think so. Regarding the dinner menu, do not miss their Ginger Asparagus appetizer - wow! The Spinach Salad is served warm with all the standard complements, and great balsamic dressing! Entrees I've tried and loved include Chateaubriand with asparagus (perfectly cooked and seasoned), Shrimp & Grits (the cheddar ones previously mentioned - so fabulous!), and, not to sound boring, but the Meatloaf is surprisingly good. I've tried many of their fresh fish specials, and have yet to be even mildly disappointed. I love their mash & gravy, their veggies are always fresh and crisply cooked, and although I've never ordered them myself, Hubby loves their pastas and ribs...tasty! I have to sneak bites when he's momentarily distracted. They offer some items on their lunch menu that are unique to that meal, and I have yet to get there for lunch to try them. But I really really want to, and swear someday I will. Aside from the aforementioned cinnamon rolls, I don't know if they even serve dessert. It's never been much of an option for me at Silver Fork. The entree portion sizes are large, and you will not leave hungry, I assure you. Yes, you may have to wait a while for a table, and parking is sketchy. The service is friendly, and very laid-back...which is a kind way of saying they don't hurry through anything, including making you feel rushed at any point. A meal at Silver Fork is a half-day event. Take a beautiful drive or bike ride, and enjoy it!

I LOVE this place! We stopped in just because it was cute and we wanted to have a drink at the bar. The bartender was great, super friendly and helpful. The Manager was there as well and offered us a short tour. We booked a room and stayed the night. The place has 7 rooms, each with it's own theme. It's very clean, very unique, and comfy. We met some really cool people that were also staying there. It's a bed and breakfast style, so breakfast is included in the price of your room. I don't know why this place isn't booked solid!! It's really amazing...

If you're headed to or from Brighton or Solitude, stop at Silver Fork Lodge. The food and service are great. Very comfortable inside and there is a beautiful deck for nicer days as well. Don't pass it by.

This place has a ton going for it, starting with ambiance. The drive either kind of sucks or is breathtaking, depending on your mood for the day, but either way, it's a good jaunt to get to it. Is it worth it? As one of those special occasions, things, sure. The view is, predictably, given the location, spectacular, especially in fall and there's almost a certain magic about it. The service can frequently be slow, which, again depending on your mood, either gives you ample time to take in the scenery or is an annoyance. The food ranges from good to very good. I'd put almost everything I had in the latter category there, as sort of a brewpub-ish/ski lodge sort of thing. This would be a great place to either attend a cool late night party or possibly just get a mug of something hot and hang out while the snow is flying. However, as regular readers have probably already determined, I'm also kind a lazy and not really prone to long drives to eat, unless the food is jaw-droppingly good. For all they do right here, it doesn't, alas, meet that particular qualification.

Super yummy! Came here in February after a hike in Cottonwood Canyon and needless to say I was pretty hungry! I ordered the vegetarian lasagna and was quite pleased with it. The layers were delicious and the salad it came with was also really good. My friend ordered a burger and I tried some of the fries it came with and those were well seasoned and yummy too. I loved the view and feel of this place. It definitely was an old lodge and the nature outside is breathtaking. I want to make the drive again sometime soon and try a few other items.

I recently at at Silver Fork Lodge when my fearless leader took his teams out for breakfast. I have driven by this place a few dozen times as I pass through the canyon and it is always packed. After having eaten here, I have to believe the primary appeal is the location. I ordered a potato/bacon/egg-y type plate. The food is pretty greasy. The portions are generous. It's also affordable. The wait service was pretty good considering we had a good sized group. We ate on the upper patio level, which is a great way to start any work day. I would go again and not complain although I wouldn't recommend it to others as a breakfast hot spot.

We had our first trip today on Thanksgiving. What an amazing meal, it was very memorable and worth the $24.00. The staff was great, the service was amazing and views were great. It was all you could eat, but not sure how you could eat more than what was on the plate to start. Great fresh meal, nothing canned or frozen.

Solid, hearty breakfast. The sourdough pancakes are a must for soaking up last night's booze and getting your head right for another day on the mountain. And if you're staying in Solitude Village, they'll come give you a ride to and from the restaurant.

Food is good, atmosphere is great, service is subpar. They claimed to be very "busy" even when their restaurant wasn't full. We waited 30min for our food, part of our order was forgotten - but the food we got was tasty.

Ok so let's say you are visitng SLC for a week or so. Or you are skiing in Park City...if you don't GO TO Silver Fork Lodge then you are missing out!! Went as a group (training for work) of about 16 people. All separate checks...yeah sucks for that server right?! Not Travis! This kid killed it!! But beside the 10 star service the food, the atmosphere was out of this world. I had a nice craft bottled beer, salad and a16oz sirloin that was cooked to perfection!! Highly HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for great service, food and most importantly the scenery. Oh and the drive there...forever burned into my memory. Major Major Props!!!

Waited.... And waited.... And waited.... This was my first and last experience. It started good with a friendly hostess and bar tender serving coffee to those waiting but once we were seated we were all but forgotten by our clearly inexperienced waitress. We understood it was busy so we thought no biggie if we wait. I was seated close to the expediting station and started to realize the wait was being caused by the person at the expediting station. He put things on trays and read tickets but seemed to cause more confusion than help. Our waitress then came to us and said "the kitchen is really backed up so you are going to wait a really long time" we considered leaving with our 10 month old but had driven 20 minutes up the canyon so we waited... And waited.. And waited.. The waitress stopped checking on us as our drinks emptied and we found ourselves begging for refills. She promised them and then ended up talking with the other servers completely forgetting us and the other 2 tables she had with screaming kids. When our meal finally arrived I had to send it back because my poached eggs were hockey pucks and the sauce had broken. My replacement had eggs that were still clear as if to have been cracked from the shell directly to the plate. Another failure of the expediter who clearly had no quality control standard. We couldn't wait to leave and were presented with the full bill. Father's Day breakfast took almost 3 hours for 2 people. No apology. Other than the hostess and bartender there was an I don't care attitude. Sad really, such a beautiful location.

Had wonderful breakfasts here last week and today. We had window seats looking out over the deck and gorgeous mountain views. Our server both times was Meagan. She did an excellent job and the food was great. We had the ham and cheese omelet and buckwheat and sour dough pancakes with ham. All were delicious and we enjoyed their special roast coffee as well. A wonderful way to enjoy the beauty of Big Cottonwood Canyon!! Highly recommend.

Portion sizes are large, food is of average quality with a selection of pasta, ribs, steaks and other, somewhat random, items (duck breast, salmon, etc.). It came down to the right location, close to our house near Brighton/Solitude. Since we were here for dinner in the winter, we didn't sit outside nor did we get to enjoy the view so that may bias the review. Service was friendly and patient.

Killer breakfast? Check. Spectacular Views? Check. Fast & Friendly Service? Check. All in all a great place to stop for breakfast before hitting the slopes or for a late lunch on the back patio on your way back down the mountain. Parking can be a bit tricky - but other than that this place is a fab find.

We recently had an amazing experience at a wedding party for our son and new daughter-in-law at Silver Fork Lodge. What a beautiful rustic mountain setting. The lower level of the lodge is perfect for weddings, or in our case, a celebration for our newly married kids (married in June in Seattle). The lower level has a tiered walk out onto a patio, then a naturally beautiful lawn area. There was plenty of room for our 100+ guests to mingle and dance too. The evening was cool, so there was a fire pit and patio heaters lit to keep away the chill. The owner Dan also lit 2 Swedish fire torches, which made for a dramatic entrance for our guests. The food was delicious and plentiful. We added Porchetta ( an item not on their regular menu) to our selected menu. The Porchetta was amazing served on Hawaiian buns and well worth it. Savory, spicy, awesome, we love well made pork products. If the food and setting weren't enough, the staff at Silver Fork were all stars. Competent, caring and efficient. From Melissa the event coordinator, Dan the owner, and all the staff, our party was an event to remember. If you're entertaining a large group for any occasion where a rustic setting, great food and personalized attention is important, Silver Fork is a must.

Really good burger. All I had was the bacon cheeseburger with fries and it was really good. One of the better burgers I have had. The view you just can't beat in the late summer with Fall colors starting to pop up ...

Great location aside, I actually wasn't really impressed by this place... (awkward silence.) The wait for our food took absolutely forever. I think I almost fainted from being so starved for nutrients. When our food finally did come, I practically inhaled it so I'm not exactly sure how good it was. I got the Portabello Mushroom and Provolone Panini and I'm fairly certain it was just okay... or "A-OK" as my 3-star rating says. On a positive note, I was really excited about the option to add gravy on my fries! So amazing! However, after getting through the first delicious layer of fries with gravy, the rest were plain and not very good. (Still... get the gravy. It's the only good decision you can make here. Maybe ask for extra gravy on the side. And then just cover your whole plate in gravy.) During our meal, I stole a envious glance at my friend's dish, and it looked downright drool-worthy. He got Elmo's Meat Loaf with Mashed Potatoes. Ahhh regrets. I do want to mention one more thing (as it directly relates to my lack of starage for this review), my friend ordered a salad instead of fries with his meal. When they asked him which type of salad he would like, he requested Cesar. Come to find out, there are no side Cesar salads and the Silver Fork Lodge charged him $9 for a full Cesar salad without notifying him ahead of time! I know what you're thinking, "didn't he notice it wasn't a side salad when it was placed in front of him?" Not a chance! The salad was small enough to be a generous-sized side. Very sneaky, Silver Fork. Very sneaky.

Great ribs in a charming mountain restaurant. Outdoor seating in the summer is terrific with a beautiful view of the Big Cottonwood Canyon. The drive over Guardsman Pass in the summer is an added bonus to the trek to the Silver Fork.

LOVE Silver Fork! EXCELLENT food for dinner! Awesome for breakfast. Great atmosphere winter or summer. WAY better than Ruth's up Emigration!!! Probably one of Utah's last best kept secrets of this type of dining. Lodging accommodations are rustic, simple, and not pretentious - exactly why you stay there in the first place. Rates are very low as well - averaging $90/night in the off season, with a slight bump during the peak of ski season.

You're going for the view, so don't expect great food. I've had lunch and breakfast, my BF has had lunch and dinner. Breakfast was the best meal by far, but the staff is rude about it. We arrived at 12:55 a Sunday and asked if breakfast was still being served. I was told yes, then the person seating us said no, it stops promptly at 1pm. Well, if they had seated us instead of making us wait (we were ignored by the hostess) then we would have made that window. We stayed anyway and ordered lunch. My Chili Verde burrito was anything but. There were about 5 chunks of pork, NO sauce, the rest of the stuffing was beans and rice......with a side of the same beans and rice. I basically ordered a plate of carbs with a few bites of meat. My BF ordered pasta that was swimming in bland sauce. I would only give it 1 star, but the breakfast I had previously made up for it.

Easily one of the best places to eat in Utah in my opinion. The breakfast is really good but the dinner options are on another level. The ribs, brisket, and steaks they have are insane. Definitely worth the drive up the canyon. Love the sunday brunch on the patio for the summer time

I must have driven by this place a million times before today, and I've never even thought about stopping in. But luckily I have friends who frequent it, so after our walk around Silver Lake in Brighton, we stopped in for a bite. First things first, they were very accomodating with our wheelchair. They pulled out a ramp and let us know it was no trouble at all. *Thanks!* We sat out on the patio with a gorgeous panoramic mountain view. I noticed they were set up for any and all weather conditions. Heaters and blankets for cold days, misters and umbrellas for hot days, and pull-out patio awnings for rain. They know that's where people are going to want to sit with that view! The food was good. I loved what I had (the Reuben) but of course the food is only secondary when you're eating at a place like this. You really just come to hang out in a cool mountainy lodge. Overall, I left happy! Cool place. I'm sure to go back.

Everytime I've visited Silver Fork, I've left satisfied. Although you have to drive up the canyon, it's definately worth it. It's a really cozy restaurant that offers indoor dining and outdoor when it's not snowing. On cold winter nights, it's a great place to get a bite and hot chocolate. Also an excellent choice for breakfast on a weekend morning. I know this sounds weird, but their water is really good! They get it fresh from the mountain, and not the city. Aparently they've even recieved awards for their water. So...order water! The service is very friendly and the place is clean. The women's bathroom is "haunted" though. There's always a cold draft...creepy.

If you are staying at Solitude Resort, you must go to Silver Fork Lodge! The food here is amazing and better than anything we had at the resort! It is a short drive down the road, and if you don't have a car, they have a shuttle service available. We dined here during the winter, so we were unable to enjoy the large outdoor deck, but the inside of the restaurant had an old, rustic tavern feel, with a large wood-burning fireplace. The staff was amazing and extremely helpful & friendly! Regarding the food - many options and there were a handful of daily specials. I thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp grits and there were a number of locals devouring it too. My mom ordered a pasta dish that was a daily special and that was amazing too. I wish I could remember what it was, but it was delicious! And what kids menu has ribs on it? = yummy! If you like wine, there was a vast selection of wine and a handful of good beer on tap. At first, we were a little leery on going here because the prices were a tad high, but it was definitely worth it!! No complaints about Silver Fork Lodge!

DELICIOUS BABY BACK RIBS! The BBQ sauce was killer. I came here with a friend and had an amazing experience. The service was friendly, prompt, but not invasive. The views were incredible. It wasn't the cheapest place for dinner but there were options like burgers to fill the gaps. I would love to go back and try their breakfast. Highly Recommend.

My husband, I and another couple went up to silver fork today to celebrate our anniversary. As always, the setting was beautiful. The restaurant was packed but our waitress was right on our orders and we got excellent attention throughout our meal. Everyone ordered a different meal, all were absolutely delicious. It was such a great escape from the city and the cooler temperatures added to the enjoyment of the morning. It's a must try for anyone who hasn't had the pleasure.

Very disappointing outing with a friend visiting from out of town when we had breakfast Saturday morning. I've had outstanding meals here, so I recommended the place highly. Our service was slow out of the gate, with a long wait to be greeted, get coffee, etc. It didn't get better. Our server forgot us and had to be reminded that we'd arrived before a couple of other tables that had their food delivered while we sat waiting. The food obviously had been sitting in the window a while. While it was still tasty, it wasn't as hot as it should've been. My toast didn't accompany my breakfast and after promising it would "be right out" we never saw the waiter again (or the toast). Ours wasn't the only table with issues, signifying a serious breakdown in both the kitchen and on the floor. The table beside us didn't get their pancakes, the table behind us was delivered an omelet cold in the middle (both overheard clearly in the close quarters). No one checked to see if we were satisfied or had issues, and indeed no one was in the vicinity while we were leaving to give this feedback directly (which I would've done for the sake of improving a place I've enjoyed in the past). I liked this place in the past, and I'd like to like it again in the future. But it's going to take a major overhaul on both sides of the pass-through counter to make that happen.

beautiful drive up the canyon to get to this place and once you are there, sit on the patio. Great coffee not the crap you get most places. The spuds with cheese are amazing. I had the chile verde omelette and it was ok, it lacked in spices. The food is ok, greasy and plenty of it so I don't think you can go wrong. Really the views here are great!

Had dinner there last night. The dinning room was quaint and of course with it being December and pitch dark we did not venture out to the deck. Our server was very attentive a perfect 5 stars. The food: we ordered the chateaubriand for two $60. The meat tasted excellent even though it was drowned in bernaise sauce and not cooked to the temperature we wanted. Others ordered the chicken piccata which was excellent but at $24 was overpriced even for a resort area. My daughter ordered the kids pasta which was delicious and a bargain at $4. The desert was as advertised. Scrumptious blackberry cobbler a la mode and a very good apple crisp a la mode, this meal would have been 5 stars if not for a couple of very easy fixes to the chateaubriand. If you are in the area it is worth it.

Obviously the best place to eat in Big Cottonwood Canyon... The only reason for no 5th star is the long wait for a table during peak breakfast and dinner times. Dan - the owner - is friendly. A complimentary breakfast comes with a nights lodging. I recommend the salmon Benedict and the corn beef hash w/ eggs for breakfast - also the cinnamon buns on Sunday are awesome. Overall - a great place to eat. Especially on the patio in the spring/summer/fall. Stop by and eat you will be happy.

We went here for Mothers day and the wait was horrible. We were told 30-35 minutes and it was over an hour and a half. I have been here twice and tried different things every time. It is ok but life is to short to waste on ok food. This time I had the corned beef hash. Nothing special at all, the corned beef was dry the flavors were bland and the service was slow. The way there is amazing, it's a shame the food is not. I think I would rather go to Ruth's Diner.

This is probably one of my favorite resaurants. Even though its kind of out of the way I go there at least once a month. The place is so small and on the side of the road but the food is very very good. I've eaten their for breakfast, lunch and dinner and always left very satisfied. I love their patio, especially in the spring when its not to hot. I highly recomend this place.

Had a great lunch after a snowshoe outing today. The service was friendly, fries were crisp, and the reuben was excellent. The meat was very tender. will be coming back for sure. Also enjoyed the ambiance with the snow flying and the fire crackling.

The food is great. Simple and great. I had meatloaf and the wife had the hot turkey sandwich. Real turkey breast, not processed meat. It was like just off the Thanksgiving turkey. The mashed potatoes were phenomenal. The place to eat in July is on the deck without a doubt. Problem is the service is SLOW. But when you're in Big Cottonwood Canyon, life is slow. Take it easy, enjoy the sites, enjoy the tasty food... RELAX.

To add to fellowe yelper, Nick's review. The missus' and I have been coming here since 1998!! Actually its like a pilgramage for the fabulous hearty breakfasts, or a beer and dinner either for a hiket on the back deck. I just started staying in the lodge when we moved away from SLC. and i returned to the valley for buisiness- Isn't per diem great? I've stayed at the lodge in summer and in winter, and it is incredible. stay during the weekdays, less crowds, and make sure to check your dates when booking. The staff is very accomodating when you make a mistake on the computer. My food favorites are the Elmo meatloaf, blackberry cobler, and the salmon eggs benedict, and cinnamon rolls. i sat in the lounging common area with a couple and they agreed, They request a HD Flat screen.

Had dinner here tonight with family and friends we have eaten here many times and love it. Dinner on the deck always seem to turn in to a party with the great food and service. The staff is always friendly and funny too. Their menu and wine list are fantastic with a wide range of items to choose from. Side note: SFL hosts a Wine or Beer Pairing Dinner that is well worth ever cent spent.

I have so many amazing memories here. I've never stayed at the lodge but I have been to the dining room many times. Whether its for a relaxing breakfast or brunch with family and friends or a nice birthday dinner. Each experience has been great! Silver Fork lodge looks like, a lodge! It is cozy, warm, welcoming and up the canyon surrounded by trees. It is absolutely beautiful and it feels so good to get away from the city. Inside the waiting area there are booths to sit in while you wait and a cool bar that will serve you hot cocoa, coffee or depending on the hour, booze. I am an artist and one of my passions is photography. I have taken some of my favorite shots here at Silver Fork. I would love to share them with you! During the summer sitting outside on the patio is a MUST. Fresh air, good food, gorgeous scenery, what more could you ask for? The service here is always phenomenal. The servers are personable, social, and laid back. Super fun to talk to without intruding on your dining away from home experience. The food is just as great. I am a breakfast/brunch kind of gal so I am mostly familiar with that portion of the menu. Whether you want it sweet with some french toast or pancakes or you need it filling and salty with some eggs benedict or an omlet, you will leave 110% satisfied. This breakfast trip isn't for someone counting calories, carbs or sugars! This is your once in a while treat to yourself where you can relax and enjoy! If you are looking to take someone special out for a nice, romantic dinner this place knows how to turn their every day menu into a five star restaraunt once 5pm hits! Get a good bottle of wine, choose a 3 course meal and reserve a table next to the fireplace!

Dining al fresco on the beautiful porch overlooking the ski runs of Solitude, we were entertained with hummingbirds drinking from at least ten feeders. Flowers on the deck, umbrellas removed at sunset, it just doesn't get any better than this. We drove from Park City over Guardsman's Pass and into Brighton. Took a short hike to work up our appetites for Chiliean Sea Bass with Mango, Avacado Salsa, Salmon on a bed of Penne Pasta. A wonderfully romantic spot!

Need a simple but hearty meal on the cheap (and to go potty before you hike up Big Cottonwood Canyon?) Stop here. Have some hot apple cider, thaw out in front of the fireplace and eat hearty sandwiches with friends. About as good as it gets. The folks here are nice and homey too; always an added touch.

I was a tourist in this state so I wanted to check out the ski resorts in Utah and compare them to Colorado. The great thing about these areas is that they are so close to the city. The bad thing is that they do not have much in the way of dining or shopping as skiers can visit the city to do all that. I only found 4 restaurants open in Brighton so my first stop was at the Lodge. They were in breakfast mode on the weekend and were not serving lunch until 1:00 pm. Onward I went to Kimis, which was also in breakfast buffet mode and I was not into eating food from a steamer table. There was also a pizza/ice cream place and further up a cafe in a store. After a nice, easy walk around the lake at the top stop, I decided to head down to the Lodge. They were just turning over the kitchen from breakfast to lunch and told me there would be a wait. The wait on the back deck was worth it and the fresh mountain air and scenery was just what I needed after a hectic week. They have fresh flowers on the table and hummingbird feeders all around to make the experience even more interesting. I ordered off the lunch menu and was told there would be a wait but was OK with it as I sipped my beverage and enjoyed the sunny patio. They have an upper and lower deck so there is plenty of outside seating in the sun or the shade. They also have heaters around so that you can enjoy the dining in the evening also. I ordered the cubano pannini and had it with a house salad. The house dressing, a vinaigrette was unusual and great. I would say the food was good, not great but service lacking as I constantly had to ask for more beverages and wondering where the waiter was at at an obviously slow time at the Lodge. This is a great place for anyone to come and the variety of dining areas make it worth a try. You won't be disappointed in the reasonable prices and great location.

Due to it's scurried away, middle-of-nowhere in the canyon, prime locale, this is the sort of place you expect to be horrible, and then they make you feel all guilty for ever thinking ill of them by being *wonderful* First - ambiance is 5 stars. And I don't mean chi-chi elegance... this is more the *real deal* - so I mean ambiance in a crackling fire, snow-drifts-nestled-against-the-window, log cabin-esque, by damn - we sure are far far up in the mountains, sort of way. Which is why, you think you've already pushed the envelope in finding such a charming cozy environ to put yourself after skiing or snowshoeing or whatever other mountain flocking activities have placed you in the lodge's proximity, so you *don't dare* have any expectations when it comes to the food. Oh! It's almost like they know you think this and want to prove you wrong... First, they'll bring you the BEST piping hot, crusty sour dough bread you have EVER HAD IN YOUR SHORT LIFE!!! (And I lived in SF, so I KNOW my sour dough). This unexpected treat will be followed by a well-executed version of whatever else you ordered. (Including *real salad greens* for the salad... I don't know why, but in places like this, I always expect iceberg with carrot & red cabbage shavings... fear not... not a limp lettuce leaf to be found). I've been here a few times now, and I always enjoy it. Worth a trek? Hmmm... probably not. At least, not for the food on its own (as well-done as it is...Michelin, voyage-inducing, it still is not...). But, if you need a dose of mountain escapism AND food that will not disappoint, this is a true gem.

I've eaten at Silver Fork millions of times and love it! Sitting on the patio is a must, especially if you're there for breakfast during the spring (hummingbirds). My husband and I were actually married here in 2008. They have a beautiful terraced lawn in the back and the staff is so attentive. The food at our wedding was AH-MAZE-ING! They have items on the catering menu that you can't get upstairs (hopefully that changed because the Ginger asparagus was probably the best thing I've ever eaten in my life). Everyone was raving about the food for months afterwards and there was a TON of it! I'd say Silver Fork Lodge is a great place for events. The rental fees are reasonable, food is amazing, and their event coordinator and staff are wonderful. We also stayed at the lodge on our honeymoon and got free breakfast the next morning. The rooms are really quaint and there's a game room downstairs (no TVs in the rooms, but who needs those anyways). Overall I LOVE this place! They're a great place to go grab a bite after a day of skiing, or brunch on a Sunday morning. And if they have Ginger asparagus on their regular menu, order it immediatly!

Love this joint. Whether you are seated by the roasting fire place with the snow coming down while eating some of the best damn bacon on the planet or kicking it out on the deck looking into the mountains with a cold Mirror Pond in-hand after a long mountain bike ride... this (really) is the placeâ„¢.

While I was visiting from AZ this past weekend, my friend took me up there for brunch. The food was amazing, service great and the Bloody Marys were delicious. They had a great view deck and some people were eating outside in the sunshine, but we opted for a table near the fireplace since I am a desert dwelling weather wimp ;). Looking forward to going back again on another visit!

I have been to the silver fork lodge restaurant a few times. They have a large deck that offers great views. Food is pretty good. but I recommend going for breakfast/lunch. The entree prices are much more reasonable then. I have been there for dinner and they add on $3-4 for the same entree from lunch. Dinner prices seem a little overpriced, but I guess they can charge it with the views they have. Great place to enjoy a beer after a long day of playing in the big cottonwood canyon.

I just got back from a 4 day ski trip to Brighton in the Salt Lake City area. I ate here about 5 times. The food is amazing. Everything I ate was so fresh and all was home made. The cheesy grits topped with shrimp was amazingly good and their open faced turkey sandwich was heaven. This place has the best mashed potatoes ever! I will make this my eating place on all ski trips from now on. Excellent waiters too. Yummmm.

I am going to leave aside the public policy issues of serving this much alcohol at an emporium about twenty feet away from the steep and frequently snowy road down Big Cottonwood Canyon. (I was not driving, and our driver was not drinking, but I can't imagine everybody who eats here, even in Utah, is so responsible.) We were here for an event, so the pressure on the kitchen was far greater than usual. Still, the vegetables were vegetable-y, the ceviche was excellent and so was the cobbler. It was a genuinely lovely time. Unfortunately, it's difficult for me to guess from this how the regular restaurant service is likely to be. It may well be worth trying if you're staying up on the mountain; it's probably not worth the trip from down below, though.

If you happen to find yourself a little hungry after skiing or climbing in Big Cottonwood Canyon, this is the place to come. Their chowder is thick and so are their fries (mmm) and if you're craving breakfast, don't miss theirs! It is hearty and during good weather, you can sit out on the patio and enjoy it in the pine-scented air. They even have wool blankets to keep the chill off. This place has been a staple of Big Cottonwood for generations; make sure to check it out.

We had a good meal, but our food choices probably weren't ideal. The creme brûlée was the best we'd ever had; these are words from my daughter who is a creme brûlée lover! The rest of the meal was average, but the other menu items and wine and beer tastings look exciting!

This restaurant is located up Big Cottonwood Canyon. It is above Brighton but below Solitude. There is a small parking lot and road space you can use for parking. There is a bar, indoor seating and outdoor seating. You should definitely choose outdoor seating as it provides a panoramic view of the valley. During warm weather this is the reason to eat here. If you visit during peak hours on peak days you will indeed have to wait for a table which can be a downside to eating here. The bar provides a wide selection of beers including some from local breweries. The food is good and the burger is well made. The fish and chips are really not that good and the only thing I've had that was a true disappointment. Other than that the food is great. Sometimes service can be a little slow depending upon the time of day you visit.

I love this place. I have for a long time. We recently went up with some family in from out of town. If the weather is good you have to sit on the patio. Great views and its comfortable. The food is good. Not mind blowing but you go for the place and not so much the food anyway. One super cool note is that they offered my 90 year old Grandmother a blanket as it was a little chilly on the morning we went up. That is super nice of them.

Great food - try the sourdough pancakes with strawberries. Great staff - truly friendly people. We visited more than once during our stay, and by the time we left we were actually hugging our server goodbye. Great atmosphere - this place has been around since the mining days in Utah began, and it's been cared for well in the years until now. If you stop by during the summer, ask to sit outside. There's a deck with plenty of shade and multiple hummingbird feeders that are frequented quite often by tiny, winged guests. The view of the mountains is stunning. This place came highly recommended by our friends in Park City, and after just a few minutes here, it was clear why. I'm pretty sure we'll be visiting every time we're back in the area.

Don't let the outside of the place fool you. We stopped here for breakfast and had a perfectly prepared dish with a beautiful view on the balcony/ patio. Jennifer our waitress was very friendly and attentive, seeing that out coffees were topped and that we were satisfied. We enjoyed the hummingbird feeders that are placed around the balcony, drawing in multiple tiny breakfast seekers. Hubby ordered the corned beef hash with egg, they prepare it on site, no canned stuff. Jennifer tells us people come there specifically for this item and hubby agreed it was the best he's ever had. My eggs and hash browns were cooked perfectly! The pricing is very reasonable, unlike the surrounding establishments ($$$$). We were warned that Sunday mornings can be crowded so plan ahead.

I love coming here. It's a bit pricey but, hey, you're dining in the mountains. The deck has beautiful mountain views and hummingbirds come to feed all around you in the summer. And if you're cold on the deck, they can bring you a blanket! The lodge itself is pretty neat too, stayed there one summer and it was a lot of fun. Breakfast is free with a stay.

I stayed at Solitude Resort recently and this restaurant has the best food in the area. I recommend it particularly for breakfast as they have some really tasty and good value options. I also went for lunch but find their lunch menu more bland. Their espresso is ok but quite watery. It would be good it they offered gluten free bread as an alternative to wheat based bread for burgers and sandwiches.

It's a bit of a hike to get to Silver Fork, but it's worth it. Not only is the drive ridiculously scenic, but so is the view from the restaurant. Our party of three arrived around 6:30 on Tuesday night. The main dining room was empty, but we had an (understandable) 15 minute wait for the patio. Grabbed a few drinks at the bar while we waited -- the staff was friendly & the drink options were solid. Lots of local craft beers that I can't find in the Midwest! We ordered the pita bread as an appetizer. Both spreads that game with the bread were awesome, especially the black bean puree. Love. I ordered the salmon special for dinner. It didn't blow my mind, but it was good. Silver Fork is worth the drive, the price, & most importantly the VIEW if you're in the area.

My experience was less than hoped for They charge a lot of money! The food was not good. They took forever to ask me for my order and then took forever to bring it. I ordered the seared trout and it was not good, over cooked and completely dry. It was tough, I actually needed to use a knife. However, recognizing part of their incompetency they gave dessert on the house which was nice. It is beautiful up there but improvements are needed.

Still amazing food and amazing service and this time we came for breakfast. If you like sourdough and you like pancakes you must must must get the sourdough pancakes here. I didn't order them personally but I had a taste of my mom's and I was super jealous after that one bite. Can't wait to return so I can have a stack all to myself.

I'm always a sucker for a good breakfast. Add in some great weather and scenery and you're well on your way towards getting a 5-star review. The Silver Fork Lodge does just that. Nothing better than a late Spring Sunday in the mountains, sitting outside eating breakfast. Got to the lodge around 11:30am and had about a 30 minute given it was Father's Day so that was to be expected. Luckily it was past the alcohol time restriction so away we went with bloody mary's and mimosas. Their mary mix was spicy and tasty. Only downside is the ridiculous one ounce liquor pour, but again that's not the restaurants fault. My table was outside and per a friend's recommendation, I started off with a freshly made cinnamon roll that was pretty darn good. Only wish there was more frosting. You can never have too much frosting, especially when you have a cup of coffee next to you. The food was great too. Ordered a classic All-American breakfast. Eggs (scrambled), hash browns (crispy), sourdough toast and most importantly off all bacon (crispy). Also got an extra side of bacon. While the food was good, the best part was that they listened when I requested my hash browns and bacon to be crispy because some places just brush those requests aside. My server was attentive, made sure we were comfortable but didn't hover around us constantly which was nice as well. Now that the weather is warming up I'm looking forward to eating up here again. It's just a great way to start off the weekend with a nice brunch. Well done!

The view is great. The food is not. Yet the place was packed for lunch on a Fall weekend. I ordered the lemon chicken noodle soup in a bread bowl & the server brought out tomato soup (apparently the kitchen told them the wrong soup of the day). It looked like it had been sitting there for awhile. So I ordered the turkey chili instead. It had a lot of meats (some ground meat, some white chunks of something) & some beans. I didn't eat but a couple bites of it because it made me think it was all the leftover scraps of meat thrown into some tomato sauce/paste. Nothing else to be found in the soup. The positive being that our service was decent (besides brining me out the wrong soup without telling me prior that what I ordered wasn't available). They didn't charge us for my meal as I didn't eat it.

The views are incredible but the food is not. I recommend just getting a beer here. The food is extremely overpriced and not good. The special of scallops was mediocre, the ribs were just ok, not tender enough and the fries were cold. It is priced too high for less than average food.

    (2)
  • Val W.

Great view. SERVICE MOVES AT GLACIAL SPEED. Omg i almost went out to kill my own mountain goat before the food arrived. And the food. Sigh. Overpriced. Mediocre. Cold food arrived on a really hot plate. Waiter was odd. Blergh. Go here for a beer after a hike. Maybe some nachos. That's it. Avoid otherwise.

The meal was average but the service was slow and the server was impersonal. We sat outside on a summer day and the setting was nice. I have always driven by Silver Fork and thought I should stop. This time I did but probably won't again.

We hosted our daughter's wedding here and I cannot say enough about our satisfaction with the venue, meal, open bar, the service, and Jake who was our goto man! Wow! We have been eating here for decades and the food is fantastic. We researched several wedding venues and Silver Fork Lodge was the most reasonable. The day of the event the staff at Silver Fork Lodge went above and beyond. No disappointments and nothing but compliments by all who attended (over 150). A beautiful ceremony, in a beautiful setting, with excellent food and nothing but good fun and good memories thanks to an attentive staff.

Unfortunately, there's nothing special happening here. The servers all seemed nervous and too busy. It took about 40 minutes before our 3 lunches arrived. One of the orders came out wrong and the other 2 dishes were mediocre at the very best.

  • Jo A.

You can't beat the views but the food and service are just average. We ordered a club sandwich and asked for crispy bacon on the club. When it arrived, we were given another turkey-cranberry sandwich from the menu and when I questioned the waiter, he told me that I had ordered this particular sandwich and not the club. I asked does this sandwich come with bacon? He said no. I then said, Well when I asked for crispy bacon, what did you think I was ordering? We also ordered a salad which came swimming in dressing. By the time the waiter came back we returned the salad and he said he was going to bring another one. We said, no thanks several times. Sure enough, he comes back with another salad. Not only that he charged us for it even though we said we didn't want it. (That person ate half the kids meal by the time the new salad came and wasn't hungry any longer) The only really good thing I can say is we ordered 2 children chicken nugget meals and the chicken was real chicken, not the crap you get at Mcd's. We had a waiter that did not listen and food that was just average, I may go back for the views and a beer.

One of my all time favorite places on the planet! The back deck is so lovely, the view is phenomenal, hummingbirds frequent the flower boxes on the rail, and if by chance the breeze is a little chilly, they bring you blankets to drape over your legs! The food it good, but made even better by the atmosphere!

Love this place. I've been coming back to the Sliver Fork Lodge for many years. It is a great place to stop after an epic day of skiing in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The food is delicious and the service has always awesome. The ambiance is perfect. I'm a lucky man.

Mediocre food, horrible wait. Stopped in last weekend for a late lunch and had to wait 40 minutes for a mediocre burger and soggy fries. The place wasn't even that busy. Waitress was super nice, but the wait and mediocre food killed the experience. We won't be back.

This place definitely needs a Restaurant Rescue (Bar Rescue version). Tried their breakfast because this was the only place to get breakfast (convenient). Their waiters & waitresses are not organized they need to pay more attention to customer drink refills & it's not consistent. I had coffee & oatmeal (simple meal). At first the coffee was not hot enough but once corrected coffee was excellent. However the oatmeal was not warm enough, it was on the dry side & it seem like it was just sitting there at room temperature & they scooped it up into a bowl & garnished with fresh strawberries & bananas. I requested for mush warmer one so they just took it back & reheated in microwave with the fresh fruits still on there & my meal went down hill from there. Just something simple like this tells a lot about this establishment.

We stayed across the street and ate here twice this week. The food and service were outstanding. There were three of us and we each got one of the specials. Quaint little bar with a spacious dinning room. I will definitely stop here next time I am at Solitude or Brighton.

Great place for breakfast with a great view. The eggs benedict were delicious although the hollandaise was a bit too salty. The fresh fruit with ricotta was a very generous portion and the honey drizzle was a perfect compliment.

My first day in Salt Lake City, Jeffrey S whisked me away to this cozy lodge off the beaten path for breakfast. While I'm normally a savory breakfast fan, I couldn't resist the charms of the sourdough pancakes. I am a San Franciscan at heart, after all! They were enormous and came with a generous sprinkling of powdered sugar. Nothing fancy here, but the flavor and texture of these cakes was outstanding. I was glad I got the short stack because the full order would have just been overload. Jeffrey went with the chili verde omelette and though I neglected to steal a bite, it looked phenomenal and also huge, smothered in that gooey green sauce. With this hearty breakfast, cozy lodge surroundings, and gorgeous mountains outside, I can't think of a better way to start the day. Maybe not the healthiest, but just take a hike or ski afterward to burn it all off!

I love this place for any meal. Everything we have ever had has been great! Even just coming up for a beer/drink on the deck is an amazing experience! One of our favorite spots!

Service was absolutely wretched, but the food tasted really great. We arrived at 11:55AM and had to order breakfast or wait another 30 minutes before ordering, I've never eaten at a restaurant with such a peculiar schedule. We asked for a minor substation of our breakfast dish and were told "they don't allow us to make any substitutions". The place is also very expensive. Yes it has a beautiful atmosphere but the check was $100 for 7 people for breakfast. Nice place, but I won't be back and I wouldn't recommend. I give it one more star because the food actually was really delicious.

Went on 8/10/15 with 15 member group. Although they do not take reservations they asked me to call when we were about 10 min away. That worked great. Seating on patio was delightful. Our waitress was OUTStANDING! She kept all orders, requests, checks, in order with no mistakes. The FOOD WAS DELICIOUS!! I had corned beef hash - made on site - and it was the BEST I have ever had! Excellent service, food, atmosphere. Will be sure to visit again!

I literally hate ski lodge food: over priced and disgusting...BUT this place was warm, the service/staff was very nice and more importantly, the food was really good! Worth a stop if you're in the area

Met some friends here for dinner on a Friday night- cozy and rustic decor the staff was nice. I ordered lemon chicken noodle soup and a salad with house dressing my spouse had the chicken with capers. Spouse liked his- thought it was flavorful and he said he would order the dish again. When our meals came out the server told me that the soup had changed and pork goulash replaced the soup I ordered. He comped the soup, which was nice, but the goulash was a disappointment.

A wonderful getaway up the canyon for some breakfast or lunch. However, I was terribly disappointed the last time we went with a group of friends. We didn't mind the wait prior to our sitting, it was the 2 + hour wait for our food along with our waitress' lack of communication from the get-go that they were short on staff and that there will be a considerable wait. Unfortunately our waitress got defensive, which is uncalled for unless you are doing your best, putting your best face forward and communicating effectively with your guests. With our table having experience in the hospitality business, we were pretty patient, and understanding though would have been more so if the waitress could have been better at communicating the situation. BTW, we were sitting out back on their beautiful patio, and after going into the restroom several times, it didn't look like they were that busy inside. The space upstairs was less than half empty?!? Perhaps we were forgotten about, who knows. Also, I must admit after speaking to the mgr. we were given a complimentary 20% discount and my husbands meal was comped due to his burger being raw and an additional wait for his food.

Choose this one for its' location in the mountain valley, the ambiance of the lodge and the views, not the food. Although the menu greets you with exotic faire like steaks from Italy, the kitchen leaves much to be desired. The $36 Piedmontese Italian beef NY bone-in strip was undercooked and extremely fatty. Service is lacking as well, so make sure if you choose this place you ask for one of the waiters who knows the menu! All In all, a pleasant experience to get these out of town visitors into the mountains, but if you have 10 more minutes? Drive to Park City and enjoy the restaurants there.

Great service. Love the the shuttle service and the great atmosphere. The beet salad was great and the Brie appetizer was yummy. Love supporting small business and the locals that work there!! Enjoy!!

We stayed here for a wedding, so were in pretty early to eat breakfast... and were glad we were! The place gets packed, probably since it's so good. The corned beef hash was the best I've ever had. They actually make it there, so it's not that greasy, grainy, canned dog food kind of hash you get at lesser diners. The second day I had the chile verde omelette-- also fantastic! The pork was tender and the verde sauce very tasty. The service can be a little slow-- but it's written right there on the menu: "Good food takes time, please be patient," so I didn't take a star off. It was worth the wait.

Only go for the ambience! The food is super bland!!! We had the Rueben sandwich and meatloaf... Tastes like school lunch where everything tastes the same. High point was the side salad!

This is definitely one of the best canyon ambiance choices...log lodge with pleasant deck overlooking spectacular scenery. Our luck with food and service over the years is uneven. Unlike many, we think lunch a better bet than breakfast. Our most recent lunch for a group of seven had four orders wrong..think a salad billed as having chicken which had no chicken. Server was accommodating but kitchen must have been zoned out (place was about 40%full).

We used to love this place, sadly no more. Twice in the last month we went up to escape the heat. The first time was for lunch and the food was not even mediocre and the service was so slow. Thinking that it was an off day we returned this weekend. The service was beyond slow, the food was cold when it came out. We sent back the side of hashbrowns because there were so few potatoes on the plate that it was laughable they wanted to charge us for it. Water was never refilled, coffee, I resorted to just walking to the front to refill on my own after asking several people for a refill. The sourdough pancakes were not just sour, but rancid. The eggs were very cold, the ham was gristle. So disappointing for the price. They need to go back to the days when they were not overcharging and worry about the food and service. Its a great location, but we won't make the trek again. This, after having been a customer for over 15 years.

There is nothing better than waking up on the weekend and making the trip up tot the Silver Fork Lodge. Kind of a greasy spoon but you can find some clean menu choices. I normally go straight for the the Dave's Power Spuds. Hash brown potatoes loaded with cheese and bacon. My inner fat kid told me to, I swear! This place is great for a morning date too because it is located in the very beautiful Big Cottonwood Canyon.

The food is decent, and the fries are outstanding. The cook and register workers were polite and welcoming. The ambience is casual and cosy. For being a ski-in/ski-out lodge, it rightfully earned four stars.
