Think of this place as a Noodles & Co meets the Bahama Breeze menu, and sets it in a shopping center. It serves creative "tropical" items in a manner that the "Fast Casual" competitors all emulate. We had the Fish Tacos, which were really good, if a bit pricey at $9 for two lightly filled (with fish) tacos with some rice. The Luau Pork Plate was better, it comes over rice of your choice and cole slaw and a macaroni salad, with a delicious sauce. Also $9. Very popular for a weekday night.

I get the jerk chicken sandwhich or chicken rice bowls. Doesnt ever do me wrong. Large rice bowl, take half home...two meals for the price of one. Im about that!

I get salads to go from here frequently. I don't like dining there because it seems loud and too close for comfort in the restaurant. The service is always okay. I've seen employees in back eating food (yes, a food code violation), talking on cell phones, and overall not caring. However, they do get the food to you in a reasonable amount of time and I've never gotten sick from it. The salads are always good. Chicken tastes juicy and the veggies are fresh. I like the dressings they use and it comes on the side which is always a plus.

They should be embarrassed about their Asian slaw recepie. Play it safe, and get the French fries. I didn't, but I wished I did. The burger I had was adequate enough to provide me with my indigestion fix. It was scrumptiously greasy, overflowing with toppings and sticky sauces .. A real 10 napkin burger. Made my belly happy.

If you order take out, and decide to get the stale tortilla chips, you better at least ask for extra salsa. The pathetic little container of salsa they give you to go with all your stale chips is only enough for about 6 chips. Literally. I had to dip the rest in some ranch dressing we had in the fridge here at work. *sigh* The chicken sandwich was about the messiest sandwich I've ever eaten. Being so incredibly messy conjures up a thought of moistness. Alas, the chicken breast was dry and tough.Maybe just an off day, but I'll probably not find out as I doubt I'll go back to this location.

Is this place good? I don't know because I never got my food. They screwed up the order 20 minutes into waiting and I didn't have time to get it corrected. Luckily, the server was kind enough to give me a quick refund on my rice bowl. The Diet Coke from the self-serve fountain didn't taste quite right. I ordered sweet potato fries and they came out cold (I imagine they would have been very good.) The ankle biters were served what looked like 3 day old Kraft Mac and Cheese. Yeah, they are young, but don't insult them with such overpriced, underwhelming, unimaginative crap! A.B. #2 wouldn't even eat more than one bite and he'll typically eat anything. What I don't get was why this place was PACKED! Business people, suburban housewives, groups of grandmas... The menu has appeal on the surface, but I won't be returning to find out for sure. In an area crawling with restaurants, eateries, fast food and Costco pizza, you have to try a little harder. Puh-lease.

This is yet another location for the growing Rumbi Island Grill chain. They offer rice bowls, salads, and chicken, shrimp, and pork platters. Ordering is the fast casual style. Some of the locations seem a bit low-brow and the menus are not presented in a very eye-catching way. The food is generally pretty good although if you want to tweak it a little they often have a hard time getting that right. Service is just okay. This place is a good alternative to burgers and fries.
