Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Hmm...a mediocre experience. Not a soul in here at noon on a Tuesday. A lady walked and then left. Not amazing but met my expectations. There is a $2 minimum purchase charge, so if you want tortillas, get them on your main purchase.

The food was average, but the portions weren't nearly as good. I was a bit upset when that they charged my card twice. Then when I contacted the manager, she said she'd take care of it, and never did. After a few attempts, I had to contact my bank to dispute the second charge.

Their food is tasty, and they load on a ton of stuff. While we were there the regional manager was there eating with his wife and over heard me telling my husband I wished I had gotten queso, and he got up and got me queso! It was really nice. I would say though that besides his awesome customer service - the other employees didn't really look or act like they wanted to be there. We've been to this location before through the drive through and the employee who took our order was really rude. It looks like they are hiring right now...if they can get better people working there I bet business would go back up. Honestly the quality of the food was great, and worth the cost. Between the food quality and the regional managers generosity, they deserve five stars.

I went yesterday for the second time and was pleasantly surprised. The first time I went a couple of years ago, I was disappointed. But yesterday was a different story. I ordered a pork barbacoa salad and it was SO good! They were very generous with the meat and all of the toppings were delicious and fresh. I love the chipotle ranch dressing. Just wanted to give them a shout out for changing my mind! I'll be returning for sure!

So I'll be honest, I'm biased to like Barbacoa over its close competitors (Cafe Rio and Chipotle) because of the Queso. The food here is easily equal to that of its competitors and I would only say that they are different in that they use recipes for their meats that are unique to their chain. The employees of the store were not the best as far as customer service goes, however the area manager was there and overheard my wife saying that she should have ask for Queso; so the manager gave us complementary Queso. He made our experience great so that is why I am giving a five star review.

Just ok. Had the soft shell tacos. We had a gift card. Not sure I'd go back other than to use rest of gift card.

Can I just say how much it displeases me that I cannot give them zero stars? I went here last week and honestly it was one of the worst meals of my life. The burrito was so soggy it almost fell through the bag. The ingredients were so cold that it must have been sitting there for at least two hours. The salsas were flavorless and full of water and the meat was flavorless. I've honestly had better food from a gas station. Not only does the food suck its expensive. Don't waste your time or money. I got a refund but I can't erase the taste or the memory. My advice? DON'T GO TO BARBACOA!

Food poisoning (me and a buddy both) from the mango chicken. Called the health dept. Still ill. Don't for the love of all that is holy, eat here... You have been warned.

Will not ever return. Nothing is as good as cafe rio, and I'm not a super fan of cafe rio. The salad was soggy and small. The burrito was subpar. I was excited to see chipotle dressing on the menu but it was nothing special. Having a drive thru is cool, but nothing will make me return here. If I want that type of food I will always choose cafe rio over barbacoa. I'd actually prefer to go to Wendy's or Del Taco across the street. For the price it should be much better.

Not as good as Cafe Rio or Costa Vida or Chipotle.

Seriously I would probably give it a half a star. Food was cold and bland.
