Good place if you are driving thru and hungry... I have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. The pies deserve 5 stars - especially with ice cream. I also like the montecristo sandwich. Pretty decent fair for Beaver, Utah. This place is kind of infamous now as a shooting and homicide took place here a couple years ago.

Surprisingly fabulous food for a small town!! My very picky husband had the salmon and shrimp and said it was likely the best he has ever had in his life. Nice salad bar. All home cooked food. Very attentive wait staff. Highly recommend! Worth stopping for!!!
(5)Jared S.
The food was better than expected, but the server wasn't very friendly. The pie was a little below average. It had thin and bland-tasting crust.

I NEVER write poor reviews. But this place... Food was good. I agree with the previous Yelper, taco salad was dry, but very tasty. My boyfriend had an omelette. He liked it. Despite being located right off the highway, they seem to cater to locals. Or maybe it was that they do NOT cater to travellers. Had to ask for drinks. Waitress was just generally absent. And the place was not busy. No drink refills. No, how's everything... And, although not the fault of the waitress, the local couple, who were cheerfully greeted, and seated near us, were very obviously looking and judging and whispering. Incredibly rude and in poor taste. Were it not for the fact that she was also the cashier, my boyfriend would not have tipped her. And he is an extremely easy going guy. Yah, they can cater to whomever they choose. And yah, I'm gonna yelp about it.

Wow, what a treat to find this great food in this small town. I had lamb chops and my man had blackened shrimp. Both were amazing. We will always make sure you stop here when driving through. Excellent!!!!
(5)Claire T.
EVERYTHING as in everything was delicious. Had the salmon & shrimp - to die for!!!! Hubby had the pork chops and it was scrumptious!

Hello, I recently visited this restaurant with my son. We went inside presuming this restaurant as a good place to eat from it's reviews by past customers. As we are seated we are given our menus and we sat there for 30 minutes, while they are working around us trying to get out at closing time with many other customers seated. 30 minutes pass and we decide to leave. As we walk pass the front register the same person who seated us says, "Have a good night!" We had the worst service by a restaurant in a long while.
(1)Kevin M.
We stopped here on the way back to Salt Lake City after a long road trip and they were very accommodating of 9 of us, very near to closing time (10pm on a Sunday night). The food is way over and above what we were expecting. No fast or frozen food here. Varied menu and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

We made a pit stop in Beaver, Utah on the way into Las Vegas. From our initial scan of their menu, we were pretty sure we weren't going to have anything to eat but after explaining what being vegan was about we found an item on their menu that actually turned out to be somewhat decent. First of all, let me just clarify this is a meat and potatoes kind of place. Denny's x10 if you will. If you want spaghetti with meatballs in a very large bowl...this is your place. If you want a classically curated salad bar...look elsewhere. If you're vegan your only option will be the Taco Salad minus the meat. The salad is a little plain and somewhat dry, probably because it lacks ground beef, but tinkering with it by adding a little oil and vinegar and some hot sauce it became pretty good. I think if they can figure out a way to add a little moisture into a dry taco salad served in this variation, they might have themselves a winner here. Either way, know that if you're on a road trip across the country, your options as a vegan in this stretch is pretty limited. Either wait until you reach Nevada or stock up on snacks before you leave Salt Lake City, but if you really need to eat the Timberline Inn isn't a bad choice to have.

Best place in town. I have been here for 7 days and finally tried this place. This was the last place I tried before heading back home to LA. I had the pot roast and it was of the hook. LOVED IT. If you try to find the best place to eat in town take my word: This is it. Just eating their blue berry pie and it is home made...really good. I asked waitress before ordering and she assured me that pot roast and everything else I ate was home made and it tastes just like it. Kinda strange that all restaurants in town had this week cream of broccoli soup when I came in but some of the other places used boxed soup. Not this place. Fresh homemade and extremely delicious. Just tried it for yourself you won't be disappointed.
(5)Greg B.
Love it here. We always stop here heading to or coming back from southern Utah. Best Monte Cristo sandwich ever! Ask for Rachele and she'll recommend the Blueberry Pie. She can dish it out with the best of them!
(4)Tess E.
The Timberline is my go to place to eat in Beaver. They have the best spicy roast beef salad and liver and onions! The atmosphere is quiet and the people are always so friendly.
(4)Mike U.
This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Beaver is a very small town, and we figured we would wind up at Wendy's, Subway or Dairy Queen for dinner. We decided to try the Timberline. The service was pleasant and friendly, the menu was a little innovative - tomato and onion salad served on pot roast, for example. We had the pot roast and the grilled king salmon. One of us had soup while the other headed for the salad bar. All the food was very good, including cherry pie for dessert. If you are near exit 109 of I-15 at mealtime this is an excellent option.
(5)Charles S.
Had the pot roast today. It was excellent! The salad bar was very fresh. Iced tea was perfect! It was a little warm in there today, but not enough to spoil the experience. The wait staff was friendly. Overall an excellent meal! A real surprise in such a small community. Will be making this s regular stop!
(5)Cuca C.
2nd time we have stopped by. Great food! Sandwiches are great and gonna try the hamburgers. There's a DQ right next to it too..
(4)Val B.
Wonderful pot roast w/mashed potatoes & gravy. Portions were generous. Yummy dinner rolls - everything tasted home made. Very crisp and fresh salad bar. Don't pass this one up!
(5)Neil Y.
Way above grade fare, and on road trip route!! Who'd a thunk it. This little gem is run by a professionally trained chef. I've made this a logistical stop on all trips through Utah for the last 10 years. No fast food here. No frozen food here. Homemade biscuits and battered chicken fried steak you name it they got it all covered with a full glass case of homemade pies!!! Bam!
(4)Lisa T.
This place was recommended to us by a lady at the hotel. My son enjoyed his cheeseburger. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and it was so salty. When she came to check on us I let her know that I couldn't eat it. She said they don't season the chicken. I had my son taste it to be sure it wasn't just me. He agreed that it was very salty and told me not to eat it. I have high blood pressure and he's always looking out for me that way. When the waitress came over again I told her that it was definitely seasoned. She didn't say anything about it. Obviously she didn't care that I was an unsatisfied customer. No apology. No thank you. No Happy New Year. Well screw you then.

Just off the freeway, in the middle of a road trip, and my daughter and I both wanted to take a break from the usual fast food road trip fare. This was an excellent choice; a gem convenient to our travel plans. Service was fast and friendly, and the food excellent for the price. A fair crowd was there, but we were given a clean comfortable booth immediate service. The waitress followed up regularly, but not so much as to be annoying. I had a wedge salad and steak sandwich, both of which were excellent. My daughter had her first Monte Cristo with fries, which was also excellent. She had some hot chocolate for desert, and said it was the best she'd ever had. This will be a regular stop in the future!
(5)Donna D.
Agree with other reviews in that this restaurant cater to locals more than travelers. Food was decent - poor service. We stayed in the area 2 nights on our way to Idaho, and one night traveling back from Idaho. Had the service been better the first time, we would have seriously considered eating there again. Nope - won't happen. Would rather make a sandwich in my RV than be ignored by wait staff.
(2)Christine O.
After leaving the Bryce Canyon Area (clearly a foodie desert) we stopped at the Timberline for breakfast. I had read some reviews and they were mixed. We decided to take our chances and were not disappointed. I had the California Omelet with bacon, avocado and Swiss cheese. My companion had the chicken fried steak and eggs. We split one of the homemade cinnamon rolls, it was delicious and not overly sweet. Everything was fresh, tasty and homemade. The service was fast and friendly. The prices very reasonable. We will be back
(4)Jyl R.
We ordered the NY strip, the honey dipped chicken, and the roast beef sandwich. The steak was well seasoned and cooked just right, but had an inch of fat and gristle. It's served with a single cherry tomato and a small side of potato salad that was composed almost entirely of onion. The honey dipped chicken (fried chicken) was delightfully crispy. The gravy was a little bland. The roast beef sandwich was a large open face sandwich. The meat was nice and tender, but the gravy tastes like it was made from a powder? We didn't try the dessert. The ambience is OK. Lots of kitchen noise and a strong bleach scent.
(3)Joanna L.
Stopped off while passing through. My boy was "starving", and I was about to get there myself. I had the bacon cheeseburger and the kiddo had chicken tenders. Both plates are empty. The best, though, was my husband's French dip. We highly recommend it.

On a road trip between Vegas and Wyoming, we stopped in Beaver to fuel up. Right behind the gas station was this little gem! We were pleasantly surprised! Friendly service (albeit a little slow if you're in a rush), the food, while not ingenious, and having rather basic menu items, was quite good. The ingredients seemed to be fresh, and well cooked. The place was kinda dingy looking - Reminded me (like from the outside) of what I would expect from a Denny's, and had no charm.... But the food was actually pretty good. Fairly priced too. This will become a go to spot for me, when I'm on the road.

I have stopped here many times before as this is a great stopping point when I go visit family and I have enjoyed the food. So imagine my great disappoint at the treatment we received by the waitress. We were traveling up to Salt Lake as our sister had just suddenly passed away. 11 miles south of Beaver we had a flat tire. It took 2 hours for the tow truck to get us to the Chervon Station (AAA couldn't find us and so couldn't tell them where we were). After standing outside the car in 35 degree weather for 2 hours we were cold, hungry, tired and emotionally spent due to the reason for our trip. I was encouraged that at least we could sit and get a warm meal at the Timberline. However, after we were seated it took the waitress 20 minutes to get us water. We noticed a group of girls her age got immediate service. And I also noticed that the waitress made sure she walked behind us instead of in front of us as she knew we were trying to get her attention. By the time she came to take our order we had found out the new tire was on the car and it would be ready in a few minutes. We asked her if the french dip was a faster menu item to order as we still had a long way to go on our journey and didn't want to order something that would take a long time to prepare. We were encountered with a rude and angry "this is not a fast food restaurant, nothing on the menu is fast. If you want fast you go somewhere else". At which point we got up to leave and I have never seen such a hateful look on someone in the customer service business as she gave us. No food is good enough to deserve that treatment. So we will not be back. And yes, all my family at the funeral heard the story and they all drive that corridor many times a year and they won't be there either.

Good food for a reasonable price. The service was excellent as well.
(4)Matteysmom L.
We stopped here on our way north to Park City & about to eat there again traveling south to Bryce Canyon. We had homemade vegetable soup, chili size & the hot turkey & mashed potato plate , all quite good. Even the root beer was delist & the server was tops.
(5)B. T.
The best part of this place is the wait help. They were terrific. The food is upscale truckstop food although the salad bar was "down" for the evening - whatever that means. There are a couple of other places in Beaver which I will try next time then see how this rates for the area.
(3)Jimmy D.
Driving across country , I try to eat at only mom and pop places and eat whats local , i was looking for lunch and came to the timberline through good ratings on yelp. My server wasnt very helpful and didn't have any suggestions for what is popular on the menu . So I ordered the special witch is the French dip , I didn't kno it came with soup and it was awesome ( black bean ) the french dip was also very good . Good price less than 10 bucks and I was full when I left

On a road trip and stopped for something to eat. In such a small town, one expects good service, good prices, and good food. The service was good. She was very nice and checked in on us. My girlfriend had a chicken fried steak but it was $14.99!!!. on top of the price, it wasn't great....a 4 on a scale of 1 to 10.
(3)Click S.
Turkey avocado sandwich, so yummy. The avocado was perfect... found a new Beaver stop.
(4)Mimi H.
My friend and I were traveling across country and this was the highlight of our trip. Everyone working there was super nice, honest, hard working people. I am considering moving to Beaver and marrying our server, David. I got a burger and taco soup. It was all awesome. The cheesecake was the best I have ever had. I will go the rest of my life searching for its equal but doubt I will ever find it.
(5)Phil S.
I stopped in Beaver on a road trip to Iowa, I had the liver and onions and it was fabulous, perfectly prepared. I also liked the mashed potatoes made from fresh red potatoes.
(5)Kathleen S.
Rarely do I ever get beer battered fish cooked correctly but this place was an exception! I had the Captains platter and everything was fried perfectly - fish wasn't dry! Portions were quite large and priced very reasonably!
(5)Thierry M.
What a pleasant surprise! This family run restaurant serves fresh and well prepared entrees. Their pies are also baked in house.
(5)Randy C.
WOW! Do not pass this place up. From the outside it looks like the typical no where town diner, so our expectations were not very high to begin with, but what a surprise inside. Extremely clean, updated decor. I believe the menu said the owner is and has been the chef for 30 years. (correct me if I'm wrong) I had the half order biscuits and gravy, and it was an entire plate full. I hate to think how large the full portion would have been. And when they say fresh, home grated hash browns, they mean it. Rarely do our kids eat all their food, but they did this time. I was shocked! And all though they came off the kids menu, you would have sworn they were adult meals. We have now found a new family tradition of stopping at the Timberline every time we pass through Beaver.

If you are traveling the I-15 corridor thru Utah, you ought to stop at the Timberline Inn for lunch. Reasonably priced, great service, and delicious food at a good price. The steak sandwich at $10 was fabulous. Fresh roll, tomato, avocado and perfectly done steak made this a great sandwich. Delicous and hearty enough for two people, probably one of the best steak sandwiches I've ever eaten! Another sure bet is the grilled cheese. At $6.50 you get a fresh ciabatta roll with hot muenster cheese oozing over a slab of tender ham. Hot, delicious, and the cole slaw slde was a perfect compliment. Located at the south exit to Beaver, UT, easy to find, and well worth the stop. Try it!

Referred here by 2 locals and we dined on 10/16/11. We were a party of 4 adults, a toddler and an infant. We were greeted immediately by friendly staff and seated withing 1 minute of walking in at dinner time (plenty of people eating). Waitress came over right away and took drink orders. She came back and politely answered our many questions about the menu. One of us had the special-pot roast with mashed potatoes and bread. She also ordered the one trip salad bar. She asked the waitress if there would be a lot of fat and if it would be tender. Waitress said very little fat and very tender, and she was right on. Amazingly good. Salad bar was a little low stocked probably due to the dinner crowd but was replenished when we told the waitress. 2 of us had the simple burgers/chesseburgers. They were cooked the way we asked, came with fries and were very good. Not a single complaint. 1 of us also had the Monte Cristo and he was pleased. Nothing to rave about but cooked and tasted just fine. The toddler had the kids pancakes and there was plenty and they were very good. Crisp on the outside and fluffy soft inside. All of the food was served promptly, the temperature was hot and the staff was great. They were quick with the drink refills, and came back plenty of times to check on us. They helped us with a broken highchair and told us not to worry about our kids being a little too noisy. They truly provided a family feeling and we were pleasantly surprised. The prices here were amazingly affordable in comparison to the portions. Thank goodnesss the Paradise Inn was closed due to remodel because that's where we were planning to eat based on the Yelp reviews. I truly recommend anyone to eat here.
(4)Shane C.
Expected this to be another roadside Dennys, just not a Dennys. While it does have the appearance of a chain coffeeshop, it's clear it's an independent restaurant with nicer decor, very friendly (genuinely) and warm staff and the food was really tasty. I had a chicken sandwich which was top notch. My friend had a slice of one of their pies and she loved it. The prices were perfectly reasonable. An excellent choice for stopping along the interstate.
(5)Mike M.
Stopped by for dinner on the way home from the Rockies. Belinda had a taco salad I had split pea soup and a hamburger. Food was good and filling but the service was poor the waitress had an attitude. Portions were good so we left energized for the rest of our drive to Vegas.
(4)Ann S.
Thank God for Yelp reviews. We were traveling and quite hungry. This place was awesome. Apparently the cook has graduated from culinary school and it shows. The salad bar was very fresh. I had the blackened chicken and almost licked my plate it was so good (however I did refrain). Friends had the roast beef and raved about it. Either I was very hungry or this place was extremely worth the money.
(5)Sarah D.
We stopped for a late breakfast on our way to Vegas and we were glad we did! Based on looks alone from the outside, we would have never stopped, but the restaurant had good reviews so we thought we'd give it a try. I was craving some good eggs and hash browns and they were perfect... the potatoes were perfectly browned and crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. My family ordered omelets, french toast, and one had a french dip and each individual was very happy with the quality, quantity, and freshness of the meal. It's nothing "fancy", but the service was excellent, friendly, and efficient, the food was great, and we would go there again without hesitation!
(5)April J.
Bland food and horrible service. Would go to the Dairy Queen in the gas station next door first.
(1)Alan M.
Pretty good food, except the coleslaw is goopy.
(3)Kristin C.
Don't follow google map link!!! After following the map link through the lovely town of Beaver and ending at a water tower, we saw the other posts to not do this and got back on the freeway. Despite thus, and the marital joy it caused, the resturant had great food and greatly lifted our spirits. We got salmon, French dip, and the chicken farfalle- all were excellent- much better than you'd expect from a highway side cafe. The service was a little bland and a little slow or I would've given 5 stars. Avoid the tour of Beaver and just enjoy the food. You won't regret it.
(4)Doug D.
Homemade food. This was a better culinary experience on my trip than the Wynn, Belagio. Do not let the truck stop facade fool you, this place is worth a visit.
(5)Vincent G.
I was traveling across Utah when my family and I got really hungry. There was nothing much around in terms of chain restaurants. We decided to try the Timberlime Inn Restaurant and I was worried at first because it was a group of 18 people traveling together. Upon walking in, we were seated very promptly in our own section of the dining room and the waitresses were quick to take out order. I was apprehensive about the idea of "a locally owned diner in the middle of nowhere", but overall I was very impressed. The restaurant's menu mentions the chef went to culinary school and has been classically trained. And it shows! The food was excellent. There is a variety of choices to choose from - from sandwiches, to fried seafood, to steak and shrimp. Despite being an enormous group of 18, the chef was able to keep up without sacrificing quality. Portion sizes were generous and the price was very very reasonable. Bottomline: nice surprise, good value, and good food.
(4)Patrick L.
Best pork loin chop I have had in a long time. Great pasta dishes. Good pie too.
(4)Trevor F.
After reading the reviews on this place we thought we would try it out, and I was very disappointed, I got a cup of chill and it came in a cup with a broken handle (glass) no biggie but the chill wow it tasted like it came out of a can, Blah. I also got the Famous Monte Cristo and it was hardly famous the ham and turkey was cold and there wasn't much of it in the two slices of white bread. My buddy got the salad bar and what was on his plate was frighteing, he took two bites and was done with it. He did get spagetti and the portion was huge he said the bread looks good but isn't good at all, he said the spagetti was alright nothing speical. This is the second time I had been here and will most likely be the last.
(2)karen Y.
We stopped here for dinner, they had a special for $21 a prime rib dinner, it was great, the meat was so juicy & it cooked just right. We 2 of us shared the order & order a side dish of mushroom on a small skillet, also had some salad from the salad bar. We couldn't believe that there is such a awesome restaurant out there in the middle of UT. We don't think that we will ever have a chance to try this place again as we are from out state, but if u're not far from this place, go ahead & visit them, I'm sure u'll be very happy w/ their service & food. Once again, terrific prime rib.
(5)Gee Z.
Great food for a roadside diner. We had the spaghetti and foccacia bread. Very good. Also has a well stocked salad bar, something hard to find on a road trip. My iphone yelp app showed the location way outside of Beaver, dont let that fool you its right on the freeway exit.
(5)John C.
Cool little place in the middle of no-where.
(4)Matt R.
Wow. What a great place to stop by on a road trip. This restaurant is amazing. Very clean. Friendly staff. Great food. My taco salad was super fresh and not all carbed up and fatty like most places. They were very accommodating to my vegetarian needs too. My wife's chicken alfredo with bow tie pasta was both mellow and tangy. They offer sodas from the Jackson Hole Soda Co--a nice detour from your ordinary sodas. I'll definitely make an effort to get here when I'm in the area again.
(5)Fred M.
Really a pleasant experience both times I've been there! I had the BEST pork chop EVER on this visit. The mashed potatoes were excellent! Made from fresh red new potatoes. Salad bar was good, but they give you small plates. Just as well - I was stuffed after the pork chop, mashed potatoes and cornbread! The cornbread was more like corn CAKE.. fluffy and sweet. Didn't need a separate dessert after that!
(4)Scott T.
Good roadside food. Friendly service
(3)Dan N.
Great experience from the door!!! if you're passing thru you HAVE to stop here for a bite! Very friendly and positive family restaurant. Super Clean. And most importantly GREAT food. my favorite dish is steak and shrimp, so of course I had to order it. Muy delicioso!!!
(5)Debbie M.
The Timberline is pretty darn good for an out of the way small town restaurant. We stopped while traveling and really enjoyed some home cookin'! My husband and I shared the Pot Roast Sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. My daughter had fried chicken with a nice crispy crust just like mama used to make. We had eight in our party and everyone's food looked so good we were all picking bites off of each other's plates. Our waitress was excellent. When she could see we were thirsty she bought a carafe of Dr. Pepper to our table so we could fill our own glasses. It helped us stay awake while driving. It is the little things that count :)
(4)Mitch K.
Family run and fantastically good home cooking comfort food. Pot roast is rich and with puffy yeast rolls to sop up the gravy you will be as close to heaven as you will get on this planet. Check my profile of ratings and you will notice that I do not lightly give out 5 stars. The pies are home made and are great., along with the sweet rolls. I truly question the two negative reviews as out of character. counter. I have never had the salad on the pot roast, but maybe they changed the menu...will check it out tonight and report back. Later: just returned from dinner and our waitress, Donna, was the one who remembered the incident with Faye W. a little over two weeks ago. Both my wife and I ordered the pot roast, as we have done previously, not remembering anything about the "salad" on top. Well, we received the pot roasts and they were GARNISHED with onion slices (mine had 11, my wife 9) and tomato wedges (I had two, wife three) that were lightly tosted in vinegarette dressing. We had no memory of this garnish because it was so inconsequential to the dish. And the menu read au jus (not the "traditional" thick brown gravy that one might expect), two medium red pototoes and a hunk of beef that fell apart into julianne strips of super rich and moist meat and "onion and tomato vinegarette salad." Salad might be a stretch unless you consider the British "salad" which is a garnish on most dinner and lunch plates. The restaurant thought that the incident went very well with everyone being nice. Faye W. was offered something else, but when she found out that she would have to pay for what she ordered, opted to limit her experience to the pot roast. The restaurant will not charge for items ordered that are not per the menu, but not liking something ordered is not a reason to avoid paying for it. Apparently Faye W. left threatening widest disemination of her rip off and misleading menu description on Facebook and other things the staff did not remember. She was good on her word to rip the Timberline on Yelp*. That said, look for consistency in reviews on Yelp*. There was one one star on Dave's BBQ in Oakdale, CA which was the only review less than five stars. The rater was angry that she called twice and Dave's never answered the phone, so she posted that, as a restaurant review with one star. As to Trevor F's salad bar comments I am surprised because he is an experienced Yelper. On my investigation, the salad bar is better than average, with four dressings plus EVO and wine vinegar and we counted 19 containers of stuff and one large bowl of mixed greens. There were also nuts and crackers and some other things. Well, must be expectations and just what can you do with a salad bar except stock a bunch of greens and toppings? Well, maybe some exotic dressings? Could be Trevor F. was having a bad day, but everyone has opinions, which is the value of a site like Yelp*. Let's watch how the salad bar rates in further reviews. We make a point of stopping in Beaver, UT simply to dine at the Timberline and most times spend the night. The founder is now the owner and his son is now the executive chef. This is a family operation and a good one. It is a good day drive from Corvallis, Montana and a shorter drive from San Diego. If you are even close, treat yourself.

There were 7 adults and 2 children in our group for breakfast. The waitress was great. She was friendly and was able to remember our orders and keep up with the pace of a group of nine. She was right on top of the drinks....coffee, orange juice and waters for all. Various orders from pancakes, omelets. eggs and bacon, eggs and ham and the kids breakfasts. My order was 2 eggs (over medium), 4 strips bacon (crisp and dry), hashbrowns and sour dough toast. Everything was purfect!! I was hungry so I asked to try their 1/2 order of B&G and if she could bring it ahead of time. Less than 2 minutes she brought my biscuits and gravy and set it down in front of me. As it passed in front of me I caught a whiff of a aroma that I hadn't experienced in years. This was a B&G that was served at the Rainbow Club Restaurant in Henderson, NV many years back. My first bite was great. I had my wife taste it and she agreed that it tasted just like the Rainbows. She aske the waitress if she could have some gravy for her hasbrowns and she brought some at no addtional charge The order was only $3.75 and it also came with hashbrowns. Everyone's orders were great. This is a place that I will schedule my trips to be in this area for breakfast. When we got back on the road......I talked about the food for manymiles If the rest of the food is like breakfast....it is worth the stop. Enjoy!
