The Wild Zucchini Grill Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Had the steak salad straight off the recommended menu and it was sooo delicious. Been twice and can't wait to go again, if only it were closer to my office or home....

Slightly similar to the food offered at cafe Paesan with one gaping drawback. They don't give you flatbread. That was the best part of Cafe Paesan. Here, it's like something is missing. I came hungry and left hungry. I specifically asked what the largest entree was, and of the 4 choices, the pasta was suggested. I added asparagus, sundried tomatoes, a tomato mix, and some zucchini at no extra cost. I had the beef, and it was good but not worth comment due to the small portion. It felt like a healthy food choice overall. Summary: food is slightly overpriced and portions are small. The food is tasty and you must ask for the toppings you want. May come here again to give it another chance but there's no way anything will be anything but overpriced. (Kids cheese pizza costs $6, and it is a piece of flatbread with cheese on it as far as I could tell) One final tip: flatbread costs $1.50 by itself, and it's worth it to complete the meal but is a tortilla, I recommend buying the cheaper meats and adding one piece of flatbread to a pasta or salad. Good luck.

If you love the taste of mixing together herbs and other condiments to create new flavors, you have to go here. Herbs are grown in the restaurant so you can be guaranteed they are fresh (they will literally cut them off the plant and add them to your meal!). Because there are so many options, the employee's are your best resource. Ask them to surprise you or what would go good with certain things and they'll hook you up! This place is easily my newest addiction.

The hardest part about this place is figuring out what to get! It's delicious and worked out well, but there are almost too many decisions to make with the menu. Would love to see more obvious menu items or "house specials". Other than that, great fresh idea and great food!

My wife and I love eating here! She loves the salads (I'm not crazy about them) but I love love love the pasta and the pizzas. I get the pasta with the diavolo sauce (may be spelled wrong.) We like that the ingredients are organic (or so they say.)

The two reviews above me compare this place to Cafe Rio. This is misleading. In reality, WZ is more similar to Chipotle: choose from four menu items (pasta, salads, pizza), then choose a meat (chicken, sausage, steak, etc), then choose a sauce and other toppings. Your price is determined by the meat you select. There is not much variety here. I stopped in for lunch today, my first visit here. My first impression was quite positive. The interior is bright and airy, with a nice modern decor theme. The menu is laid out simply and is easy to comprehend. It's a very pleasant place. This good first impression didn't last long, though. The service was agonizingly, glacially, ridiculously SLOW. The (short) line wrapped around to the door, which means there were perhaps fifteen patrons in front of me, yet it took 25 minutes between the time I entered the line to the moment I was handed my food. Was each person in front of me also ordering for 10 unseen patrons? I have no idea. Based on the wait time alone, I was ready to swear off this place with a 1-star review and a vow to never return. But then I sat down with my pasta bowl. To my delight, it tasted great! (Maybe the extra-long wait time had caused my hunger to spiral out of control.) For this reason alone, I can't rate WZ less than two stars. The portion size seemed a meager at first, but it ended up being very filling. Speaking of portion size, I made sure to notice the pizzas ordered by a few of the other patrons. They also looked good, but they were quite small--maybe 7" diameter. If you're expecting these pizzas to be similar to those at Terra Mia or Pizzeria Limone, you'll be sorely disappointed. In summary, WZ seems to offer good flavor in an inviting atmosphere. If you're not terribly hungry--and you've got a LOT of time to wait in line--you might want to give it a try.

Not as good as Cafe Paesan as many other reviewers have pointed out. The food is not as good as I remember it being. We had a salad a a Kobe piadina. They were just OK. Are my expectations to much? Maybe. The atmosphere and servers were awesome. If I'm in the area I would probably go back but I don't think I'd go out of my way. It used to be food I craved and now I could take it or leave it.

Everything is fantastic here; clean, awesome food, exceptional service, and great prices. If you have a chance you have got to try this out! If only they had one in Dallas :( Compliments to Steve the owner!

Love the food although I hate ordering. I feel like you need to visit with place 3-5 times before you really have the ordering down and to be able to determine what you want to eat that day. I love the Bruschetta, wraps (although very filling and delicious they are difficult to order) and my kids love the make-your-own pizzas however I would skip the desserts. One you really won't need the dessert and two, I don't think their all that good. If this place can get the ordering process down, I believe they will succeed. The food is fresh, great tasting and you get a good amount of it for the price. It's just that darn ordering process that makes me questions whether or not I want to bother waiting in a long line or not.

Some of my friends and family have been raving about this place, so my expectations were fairly high. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was very friendly and up-beat. It had very nice decor and plenty of seating. The line was looooong! way too long for a Thursday night at 6:30pm. I initially took this as a good sign as being a very popular place with great food. The reality is that it's a very popular place with mediocre food. I had the pasta with Alfredo and Kobe beef. Just as I was told, the Kobe beef was really tender but not a lot of flavor. I am not a fan of angel hair pasta and that was my only option. It would have been much better with penne or bow-tie pasta. The worst was the sauce, it was very bland, overly milky. My mother and my wife were not overly impressed with their salads, but others in our group raved about the wraps and personal pizzas. Perhaps I will try one of those next time. The say that they are 'Italian street food', but I don't think that Mexican tortillas are all that common in Italy. They give you a tortilla with every entree. I understand that this location is a test location and that they plan on expanding to other parts of Utah and the western U.S. I really hope that they can make some improvements because I really like the concept of this restaurant. Overall I was not impressed. I am not sure what all of the hype is about. I will go back, but I will wait until the lines die down.

Avoid this place if you have kids. I went here once with my coworkers and thought the food good enough I wanted to bring my wife -- which for us means taking the three boys (all under the age of 5) with us. Anybody who has been around children know that keeping that many children in a very long line is a bad idea, so my wife took the boys and sat at a table while I stood in line. 5 minutes later (and the line had barely moved) my wife was asked to leave because "saving tables is not allowed". She was embarrassed and furious and my kids were crying. In fairness, there are signs saying "no saving tables", but there were also at least 10 empty tables -- probably more. Yes, I counted. If a company can't give a little leeway to people trying to keep the restaurant atmosphere pleasant for everyone and see when it might make sense to make an exception to a rule -- at *least* when it isn't hurting business -- I don't have any interest in giving them business. The icing on the cake of course is that there was a man sitting at another table in the other corner -- one twice as big as the one we were at -- that was there when we got there and still there when we left, quite obviously saving the table, and nobody said anything to him.

Yum! Super fresh and surprisingly filling! Lots of variety to choose from, can mix it up from visit to visit. Love their fresh cilantro, sun dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts in my wraps. Very enjoyable every time we go.

Actually really liked the food. Only thing that kept it from 5 stars is that it was unbelievably noisy. It was the lunch rush, but something about the acoustics made everything so loud. Our group of five in the back corner literally had to yell to be able to talk (which I guess is what everyone else had to do as well). Needs a ceiling or some acoustic tiles. Noise was really unpleasant. I let them create my dish ... steak pasta with marinara and a little pesto mixed in. Actually was really good. Steak was really flavorful. Portions were enormous.

I was so excited for the long awaited return of "Café Paesan ". We frequented Paesan before it closed and were excited to see it open again. We were both disappointed to find that it is indeed open again, but so much of what we loved had changed. It is not served up café rio style- it is more close to chipotle where you pay based on the meat you pick regardless of the entree. Which I guess works in your favor if you pick a pasta which has a bigger portion size, and against you if you get a pizza (which is a giant rip off- don't do it). Especially sad to see that the flat bread sandwich is now a piadina which is the equivalent of an Italian burrito- meat, veggies, pasta and some sauce wrapped up in a very thin tortilla like flat bread. The grilled flat bread was the best part of Paesan, and we were especially sad to see that go. The pasta is overcooked and all in all, not worth the wait or the money. If you are stuck going here with a group of friends stick to the pork and the pesto sauce. If you go during a meal time expect to wait a looooooooooong time. The line moves slowly. The service is not friendly- the act put out to explain the menu or the process. All in all we've given it three different try's and will not be going back. You come hungry and you don't leave satisfied with the food or experience.

Really not impressed. I had so many people talk this restaurant and concept up, and I guess I just don't understand the hype. I felt I could make better pasta myself, and that is what I will do next time, stay home.

A bit of a wait, but worth it. With the ability to build a pasta bowl, a pizza or a sandwich, the food was fresh and delicious. The staff was fun and friendly. They certainly "took the edge off" once we made our way up to the counter. This seems to be a rising trend in restaurants, and once the novelty wears off and the wait wears down a little, this could be a really great week night dinner spot.

We ordered two pastas and a pizza. I didn't know what I wanted and I asked them to make me something they like. I ended up with a pork pizza that had bacon and artichokes on it. The pizza was a very good thin crust pizza. I really liked the red sauce. I noticed a few bad reviews about the service. We experienced very good service from recommendations on what to eat to being asked a few times if we needed anything while we ate. They also bussed our table for us. All in all a good lunch I would go back for.

I always like to try the new restaurants in my area at least once. I did not experience any particular problems with the staff or food, but they do appear to be serious about not saving tables as they do have several signs clearly posted. Service: I spoke with several different staff members and all were friendly and seemed to be happy. I did not see anything during my visit to support the other claims of rude staff. Food: The food was just ok, nothing particularly spectacular. I got the pasta bowl with Alfredo sauce. Their pasta is limited only to angel hair pasta, which was slightly over cooked but otherwise fine. The alfredo was decent, but not particularly flavorful. The Cilantro was the highlight of the meal being very fresh and flavorful. Assuming the rest of their organic produce followed suit, those who focused on those products may be quite pleased with the food. Cost: I found the cost to be fairly expensive for what you get. I spent roughly $12 for a pasta bowl and medium drink. Olive Garden would only be slightly more, and would be a far superior experience. Overall my visit was just generally OK. If I needed to go back for any reason it wouldn't be a big deal, but I probably won't choose to go back because I don't feel it was a good value for me, and I generally like better quality food even if it is more expensive.

Excellent choices for everyone. We had a pasta bowl loaded with all kinds of toppings, a thin crust pizza with fresh veges and spices, and the Thai salad was an explosion of flavors. Save room for dessert... The seasonal pumpkin cake was out of this world!!! Friendly staff and delicious food makes this a new favorite spot.

This is one of my favorite new places - especially in the AF/PG area. Same ordering style as Cafe Rio and Costa Vida, but the fresh herbs are amazing. We always get the wraps. So good!

  • Andrew A.

Wasn't sure what to expect honestly. The makers of Cafe Rio know Fresh Mex. Could they pull off Fresh Italian? It was great! Had the Chicken Diavolo pasta with the Burrata appetizer. Both were very tasty. And the balsamic tomatoes are the addictive equivalent of Rio's salsas. Interesting blend of flavors. I plan to come back!

Pizza as follows: Alfredo sauce and pesto cream, mozzarella balls, sun dried tomatoes, fresh zucchini, and red hot peppers...amazing! I have tried the wrap and salad and they were just okay. Pizza is worth going out of your way to get, I do!

Don't get me wrong: The food here is pretty delicious. But I just experienced the absolute WORST customer service I have ever encountered at a restaurant. My boyfriend and I had finished eating and had been finishing up our drinks and chatting for about 5 minutes, when the lady cleaning the tables came over and asked if there was anything else we needed because "there are people standing with their food waiting for tables". We looked around and no one was loitering for a table (it was the tail end of the lunch rush, so it was busy but it wasn't THAT busy) and my boyfriend pointed out a clearly vacant table about 5 feet away from us. We had been in the restaurant for a grand total of 30 minutes (including the time we spent in line and ordering) when this happened. And we had been keeping an eye out for people who may have been in need of a table. We've eaten here a few times a month since I started working nearby, but I doubt I'll be going back after being shoved out the door today. TL;DR: Don't plan on on eating here unless you're a really slow eater, because the table police will throw you out if you aren't actively eating, even if there are empty tables.

Delicious - different food like italian street food style but mingled to american style. Served up like cafe rio orders/preps. Loved the wrap, but the calamari got me. Ecstasy! The sauces! The flavors of their sauces and meats wrapped in their flat breads with angel-hair - it was a carboload of epic proportions! I will be back when visiting Ut County again! Their donuts were really tasty too.

Amazing, fresh, friendly & healthy choices. Always a great experience. Staff is awesome & helpful with decisions. The pork is the best on pasta, pizza or the salads. Lots of topping choices. Highly recommend!

  • Kip P.

Very poor. It was sad to see the owner act the way he did today. He ended up asking me to never return because I had a Costa Vida shirt on. Guess you can only eat where you work. I would suggest to never go here for the fact that the owner had no idea what costomer service is. Said to see a owner so mad.

  • Kara N.

Love this place. The food is amazing, and the service is perfect. Carlos is so friendly and fun; I would go just to talk to him. Their pizzas are big enough that I don't usually finish, the calamari is to die for, and their Italian doughnuts and the best. If I could afford it, I would go at least once a week.

Great place, Italian version of Chipotle. Very similar idea from a chain in Ohio called "PIADA" started by the people that do Brio Tuscan grille among a few others with similar concepts but none the less I'm happy because I've wanted a place like this here in Utah for a while. All the negative reviewers ordered the wrong thing. If you want a good experience and good value for the money order sausage, chicken or pork pasta bowl and load it up with anything and everything! All toppings are free so make sure to load it up!

    1. First time in I walked out because the line went so slow. 2. Second attempt: couldn't see what to order till I was immediately at the front and expected to know what I wanted due to a giant ceiling thing blocking the menu. When I asked for a sauce recommendation, I was told the pesto was a cold sauce. Who wants cold sauce? The next guy in the serving line asked, "you want mozzarella?" When I noticed multiple cheeses and asked what other options there were, he rapidly fired them off while turning around so I couldn't hear him. I asked what was in the "cheese blend" and he ACTUALLY said, "I don't know, that's their job" motioning to the cooks in back. The kicker, no to go bags and my husband with a broken arm had to balance all the containers on the way home. Sorry to Steve cause I love Cafe Rio and worked there for years. But this experience was far below what I expected a Stanley restaurant to run like. Food was ok.

  • Ann S.

I ordered a pizza. I got about two tablespoons of sauce, 1/8 cup chicken and a few hastily thrown on vegetables for $8. It was also undercooked. I was really hoped for a fresh and fun alternative to fast food lunch options. I was disappointed. My friend ordered a pizza too and his was undercooked and under topped and his Pana cotta was very mediocre.

Used to be a regular at Cafe Paesan before they changed their name to Wild Zuchinni and moved locations. Went at least 30 times. All of the same ingredients just presented in a much more "flexible" manner. I personally think the "salad bar" approach to making Italian inspired sandwiches (with pasta in them) is a big mistake. If we are talking about normal sandwich ingredients, most people are fine choosing what they want. The difference is that this place has all kinds of trickier ingredients to mix and match. You can very very easily make something here that doesn't taste good. They REALLY need a suggested combinations menu. Stick with the apple braised pork and creamy pesto and you're golden.

  • Kimber S.

Oh my freaking gosh. This place is my new fave. No place that I've been to yet that you can get so many delicious and different toppings on a salad or in a wrap. And usually I don't pay a huge attention to the customer service but wild zuchini has hired the nicest staff. You can tell they care about customer satisfaction. Worth the wait in line.

  • Julie M.

Awesome salads! I love that you can build a fresh salad filled with vegetables! I would rate this restaurant higher but the if the line is long, you will be waiting forever to order your food.

    (4)
  • Ty D.

The burrata is wonderful and the sandwiches are really good. If you ask the employees that are "building" your meal what is best on it, they turn out differently depending on who you ask, but their combo choices are always good.

This place was so fresh, so healthy, with awesome service! You can load on as many veggies and dark greens as you like. Perfect place for a date or with friends. Not to mention it is a great value!

  • Amber K.

Love this place. The taste is so unique. I love to combine the lemon garlic aioli and Alfredo sauces. I've had the sandwich and it is so, so tasty with the angel hair pasta inside. I also love the pasta bowl loaded with tons of fresh veggies and their marinated red peppers are so flavorful and amazing. The pizzas are awesome too! Service is fast, food is so fresh. Desserts are unique as well. Definitely recommend.

  • Meili M.

Wanted to like this place so bad! Such a good idea/concept but lacked in quality. I order one of their veggie wraps and I couldn't finish it, it was WAY over salted. I'd try it again and order something diff but I don't expect to be wow'ed.

  • Dave H.

This would be 5-star if it wasn't for the speed of ordering. I don't mind a long line if it's moving, but whenever I've been there with a line to the door I'm always surprised at how long it takes to get through. If you happen by when the line is short, this is 5-star. I almost always get the pasta bowl and am not disappointed. I love the toppings, the portions are plenty and it's a good value for the money. If there was some way to move that line along we'd go there more frequently during lunch. As it is we only go during slower times.

  • D H.

Was a little skeptical at first. We had no idea what to get, so we ended up just picking random stuff. I was pleasantly surprised. They were new flavors I've never experienced before and it was delicious!

This is the second go round from the folks that brought us Cafe Paesan in Orem. It is quite a bit different from that first attempt. The menu is different, the atmosphere is newer, and the food has changed a bit. I was a huge fan of Paesan food, which was a Cafe Rio of sorts with Italian. The portion sizes have reduced noticeably. The salad sizes are half at least. It was still very good though. For someone who never had the previous menu, you won't be disappointed. They are just getting started again, so growing pains are inevitable. Give it a try!

  • Kelene J.

This place is amazing! I literally crave it everyday. Very clean, fresh, and healthy options, plus there is so much to choose from. Possibilities are endless....and that's coming from a vegetarian. The place was very clean, great atmosphere, and the staff was super friendly. Love the food and how quick it is. I will probably go back every week. Ha.

Build one at Thanksgiving Point... I'm shocked the reviews are not at a straight five stars.. This is the best food in Utah County... And the price is ridiculously low... I'm hoping the owners will build one at Thanksgiving Point... I'll be there for lunch every day...

Best food I've had yet in Utah. Everything else has been less than desirable. Love this place. Everything is very fresh. Kobe beef melts in your mouth.

  • Mike K.

Just ate there tonight for the first time. Definitely has a Cafe Rio (with a strong hint of herb) feel to it. I thought it was great. I love natural and fresh tasting food and the herbs really shine in the dishes. I got the chopped salad with shrimp and the spicy Thai dressing. I also got the Burrata appetizer (handmade fresh mozzarella on crostini) and the mozzarella was like something I've only had in NYC. I may be making this sound a little better than it was but it really was much better than expected. The line wrapped all the way around the entire restaurant so expect a line. I bet the most common question peeps will have about this place is, what do you get there? Think fresh, fast, herby, italian wraps, flatbread pizza, pasta and salads topped with delicious protein options (rosemary chicken, italian sausage, pulled pork, american kobe steak (awesome!), grilled shrimp (butta!), and vegetarian). Also had a small nibble of the Bomboloni. It was like a cinnamon doughnut ball and it was crazy good. I will be back for sure.

  • Kristy H.

I loved this place. I didn't know what to expect when I walked in. The fresh herb plants are a very clean, appealing twist. The chicken salad was amazing. The choices that you get to choose form our not your average everyday ingredients. Much more flavorful and tailored to Italian. Very flavorful. This chain will do very well.

    (5)
  • Clay A.

I really want to like this place..a simple menu for good italian food, which we don't have nearby. I like the personal pizzas, but... ...the main problem is their pasta dishes. Their sauces, from marinara to alfredo, are just meh.. They need to be thicker and tastier. I can't get my family to go back.

    (2)
  • Laura G.

I love the wild zucchini. Lovely options for those needing a gluten free diet, my gluten free girlfriends rave about it. Fresh delicious ingredients. If you know your pallet you can recreate a fantastic chopped salad the likes of which I was only able to find in New York or your own heavenly concoction. They are also great about suggesting fun flavorful additions when asked. Who says they don't make yummy food in Utah.

    (5)
  • James T.

The food is good, but not exceptional. The variety of options is just right for what they're doing. The wraps with pasta inside are odd, but it works alright. Good for a quick lunch.

I think the food is fresh and delicious. I always order the Thai Chicken Salad. However, I'm really turned because off because of the other reviews saying they ask people to leave if they hold a table. Especially the review where they asked an elderly woman to leave just because she was taking a seat. How gauche!

  • Angela W.

I got a salad and it was good and fresh. My twin sister had told me about there recent place in Orem and loved it. I guess the last location they served a pita bread with the salad. I was really expecting this but i guess they changed or i got jipped. I was not satisfied at all but it did have great flavor. I purposely sat down to see if they would tell me to move before ordering but they didn't. (i did this from other reviews) the customer service was extra friendly. Cute atmosphere, but eat something before hand. (again i eat way more than an average girl)

  • Shelby P.

This place was packed! but the turnaround was great. The food was amazing. I had the pasta bowl with angel hair pasta, steak and Alfredo and I was not disappointed. We also ordered their bruschetta and I would say it was the best I've ever had. Their concept of this made to order Italian food is so cool! Don't be fooled by their "Flatbread", it is a tortilla. Though the owners are who started Cafe Rio, so they know how to make a darn good tortilla. My coworker ordered their "sandwich" which is like a wrap in the end with pasta in it. Greatest idea ever! You HAVE to try this place.

    (5)
  • Eric J.

I was skeptical of this place when a coworker suggested it. The Italian fast casual has been tried before and in general hasn't been too successful. But this place was good. I had the steak in a flatbread sandwich and it was really really good. The wait was a little on the long side but not too bad for a busy lunch time.

  • Ray M.

This was an interesting and different experience. If you are looking for traditional Italian fare, this would not be the place for you. It is what it has set out to be and that is a Cafe Rio with an Italian slant. I had a flatbread pizza with the red pepper sauce, itialian sausage and topped it with feta, olives and mushrooms. The crust was crispy on the edges yet chewy like a good New York pizza. It wasn't the best pizza I've ever had, but it was worth the price and certainly was delicious. The others in my group had a salad and a wrap. The salad seemed unassuming, and the wrap looked like a burrito stuffed with pasta. I didn't try it, but it seemed odd to me to eat pasta in a tortilla. I would liken it to stuffing ramen noodles into an egg roll. The atmosphere was clean and well organized. The employees were very friendly and most of them engaged me in conversation as they prepared my food. It was fun. I think one of the biggest drawbacks is the sign at the front door telling you not to save tables. As this is not industry standard, it is a bit off-putting, especially since you feel you are being lectured before even ordering your food. Cafe Rio is much busier than this place, yet the crowds seem to manage the seating situation on their own. I hope the owners rethink this approach.

Went there lsst night and was not impressed . They were stingy on the meat they put in the pasta dishes.we had an appetizer that took 30 minutes for them to bring out . Because they are new I will try them one more time but I won't expect much

Absolutely LOVE this restaurant! Love the fresh food, the friendly staff and the whole environment! We have been several times and we actually don't mind the looooong line. We have had each of the 4 entrees. Never the same and always super delicious!

The food is good, although portion sizes are not quite what I expected from the people who started cafe rio. Also, my brother in law was feeding his baby and an employee told him that there was no saving tables; I counted more than nine empty tables at that point. If you are going to start a business in American Fork, you should probably make it family friendly. Other than that, it is different than other places around and my wife really likes it.

They actually don't get even a star from me. Just found out from a friend on Facebook that he got kicked out of the place for having on a tshirt from another restaurant. What a total jerk. I'm hearing this from California when I make it up there again I will never support someone that's like that what a douche bag.

I really wanted to like this place. I loved it when it was in Orem and was really excited to see it open nearer my house. When we got there it was clear that the menu wasn't even close to before. We ordered a kids cheese pizza, a steak pizza, a pasta bowl with shrimp and the barrata. The pizzas were decent, nothing to write home about but passable. The barrata was the bright spot in the meal and was well worth the $4 it cost. The pasta bowl was terrible, the pasta was pre cooked and sitting under a pizza tray, the Alfredo sauce tasted like it had just come from a bottle and they were so sparse with the "extras" that I barely had any. To top it off, it was cold. Overall it was pretty disappointing and without some major enhancements we will not be returning.

Absolutely loved it! I went off the staffs recommendation and got a steak Piadina. The staff was awesome and patient as my wife and I asked what their favorites were. We will be going back!

The food is fresh, but I just really wasn't very impressed with this place. I got the flat bread and it was rolled up like a burrito and they put angel hair pasta in it. Not sure what it was trying to be. The salads are fairly small for the price when you consider a majority of it is just lettuce. As others have mentioned the line can be terribly slow and the exhaust hood in the kitchen is placed so that you can't see the first step in the menu is until you are basically ordering. The menu itself is slightly confusing and it takes a few minutes to put it together on what you want. Overall not really sure I would eat here on a regular basis.

No stars...we had a group of 10 including 5 kids and tried to sit down while our group was next to order and the owner REFUSED to let us sit. We explained that we were next in line but said we had to sit by the door...horrible customer service...NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY AT ALL!!!

First time eating at The Wild Zucchini Grill and we'll definitely be back. Nice to find a place that's not a mainstream fast food joint with options for my picky eater. My husband and I shared a steak wrap (different, but good), and the kids shared a pepperoni pizza (tasted awesome). Left full and satisfied. Can't wait to go again and try their other options. A nice change from the usual. My only complaint would be the lack in seating. We did go at lunch time on a Monday, so seating might be more readily available at a non peak time. My family of four crowded around a table meant for two.

Horrible experience. Came with large group from work and saw the signs not to save tables. We followed the rules but others coming after us did not. When I pointed that out, the manager (maybe?) Informed me she wouldn't ask them to move. When I pressed it further she invited me to go tell the table. I explained that's not my job. Some in our group were able to order kids sizes while others were told it was only for under 12. Food was tepid at best. Wish for negative stars. Won't be back.

I was recommended to try this place for the pasta. However, not overly impressed. I get its the Italian cafe rio style, but it wasn't packed full of flavors like expected. The variety of toppings was a plus. I tried half red and half white sauce. The flavor was good, but nothing impressive. It lacked deep, rich flavor. Seemingly a watered down sauce. I'm not sure if I'll try again. Tell me if I'm wrong.

I wanted to really love this place, but there were a few issues I had. First, the sandwiches have angel hair pasta on them (and don't get me wrong, I love carbs on carbs on carbs), but that was really weird. I ordered the pasta bowl, which was huge and delicious BUT they take the hot pasta and hot sauce and then add cold veggies without heating it back up, making it immediately lukewarm. I had a ton of leftovers, and when it was all heated up in the microwave, it was super delicious and very flavorful, so I wish it had been that way in store. The real shining star of the meal for us were the donuts. Get them. They're amazing and life changing.

Every single thing at this restaurant is amazing! Even there free water with the fruit inside is insane good. I sometimes want to eat here twice a day. The sandwiches (burritos) are way good. It's Italian street food that is crazy good. I probably eat here once a week.

I had the Angel Hair Pasta with American Kobe Beef. It was good, especially the beef. The beef was tender and tasty. The pasta serving was quite a lot so at the end i ended up playing treasure hunt finding the beef. I added a lot of green vegetables too and they tasted fresh. Overall i felt that it was a complete, satisfying dish, although i would have liked it too be a bit spicier, but then.. that could just be the Asian in me speaking. I like the ambience of the restaurant. It felt contemporary modern. They have fresh plants under grow lights all around the restaurant, which i think is a nice touch. Good for decoration and then convenient to use in the menu too. Very good idea. I would totally come here again.

Their ingredients are very fresh, the food is super tasty, and they let u have fun deciding what combinations you'd like to try! It's great!! Although this follows the now-familiar Cafe Rio ( et.al .) order-at-the-counter, mix and match 5 ingredients process, I'm surprised at how much I liked it. I only tried the cream sauce + angle hair, the margarita pizza, the bombolini, and the chocolate polenta cake, but each item was priced well, fresh, and tasty. I especially liked the pizza. They soak roma tomatoes in some sort of white balasmic vinegar to make them sweet, then a mix of normal and fresh mozzarella, then cook it in the same tiny oven Cafe Rio sends their burritos into. And yet the pizza comes out acceptably crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle. The polenta cake was also a hit--very rich, interesting polenta flavor + texture, and lots and lots of cream. I'll come back.

Fast, fresh, and flavorful food. The Kobe steak salad was probably the best salad I've ever had. Good quality and the spices and flavor were so good. Much better than the bland food Utah is plagued with. Definitely recommend this place!

I was really excited about this restaurant when I started looking over the menu, because I love Italian sausage in an Alfredo sauce and their wide variety of ingredients looked delicious, but my excitement dropped the first time when I saw them plop the Italian sausage onto the noodles and it just looked like browned hamburger that hadn't been drained. My mood picked up a bit when they started to lather on the Alfredo sauce and again as I got to pick my toppings, but then dropped again as I realized that I had a limit to the number of toppings I could have on my pasta. I asked about a couple of their toppings, but the server wouldn't even tell me what it was called, they just said "this stuff is pretty good." This bumped up my excitement a little, because I was expecting something good, since an employee recommended it. The pizza pan style trays were awkward, and the drink station was barely adequate, especially since the drink lids had to be coaxed onto the cups in such a way that one of my companions partially crushed his cup. I actually discarded the first lid I grabbed, because I was convinced it wasn't the right size. It wasn't until I looked at the other lids that I realized that I just hadn't pushed it on hard enough or hadn't stretched it around the rim of the cup well enough. As I sit down at the table I was met with two disappointing realizations. One was that we had a party of 8, but the table was bolted to the floor, so we couldn't move two of them together and have the social lunch that we were hoping for. The second disappointment came from noticing that nobody had their trays at the table, and it wasn't obvious where I was supposed to put my tray. Fortunately there was an employee that was hurriedly bussing tables nearby who gladly took my tray, but more on that later. The food was disappointing at best. It was very bland. I'm glad that I asked them to put pickled artichoke hearts on my pasta, because that was the only thing out of all of the toppings that really had any flavor. Everything else blended together into a flavorless mush in my mouth that, if I hadn't been so hungry, I would have just pushed it away and picked up a fast food sandwich on my way back to the office. I can also mention that the pasta, of which they ONLY had thin spaghetti, was overcooked and far too soft. As I was sitting their chatting with my companions, I did glance over to the kitchen and happened to see one of the preparers topping off the Alfredo sauce OUT OF A GIANT BAG! I realize that this is supposed to be a budget Italian restaurant, but I spent $10.50 on a medium sized pasta bowl and a fountain drink. I have had better pasta from Dominos Pizza and a cheaper pasta lunch from Macaroni Grill, so I really can't find any redeeming qualities for the food at The Wild Zucchini Grill. Aside from the food, the experience only got worse, because the staff was really pushy about taking our plates and bussing the tables and getting us out the door, because there was a line of people almost to the door. All I could think about while I was getting up was," I can't believe I paid $10 for that.", and "Why is this place so popular?" The only thing that will ever get me back in that door is if I find out that I forgot something in the restaurant.

Great concept, the ingredients are very fresh. They use good, house prepared meats, and sauces. Its really up to you how it turns out as you choose the ingredients that get added to your dish. If your looking for low carb you can pull that off as well, even though most of it is a carb fest. Everyone I was with was happy with their meal. Almost 4 stars.

First impression was not good. As soon as I walked in, I was hit with a horrible smell of sewage. Still, I ordered the Rosemary chicken burrito and took it home of course. The burrito was not anything special. I might give this place another chance.

Spaghetti in my burrito...no thanks. The concept is played and though the food is fresh, it's clearly a Cafe Rio scoop and serve knockoff. Is there a Penne taco?

In love. I am always looking for a fresh and clean salad with fresh ingredients and I have FOUND IT! This place is, amazing...I would agree with many other reviews that said its like cafe rio's Italian counterpart. They are similar but also very different in the ingredients and it's certainly not traditional Italian. I would call it "new age Italian" where has his place been all my life??

Everything that I've eaten at this place is delicious. Every time my parents come into town this is where they want to go. The first time I went in I met the owner and creator and he made the best wrap that I've ever had in my entire life. After I finish my meal he came out with a dessert on the house just to welcome us to the store because it was our first time. Super health too, everything is really fresh, so fresh they pull it right off the plant and put on your food.

I heard a lot of good things about this place from friends and acquaintances. My first impression was...An Italian Cafe Rio. It's probably run by the same restaurant group but I'm not sure. I had a pasta bowl with Italian sausage. I was disappointed to see it was ground sausage instead of a link style sausage but it was delicious nonetheless. The rest of the toppings were awesome. I got three cheeses, pepperoni, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, zucchini and tomatoes. The pasta was angel hair. The ingredients were very fresh and flavorful. I also had the asparagus and prosciutto flatbread. It was to die for! The pricing was very good, about $22.00 for two of us. The line was long being a Friday night but the staff was very quick and efficient. I strongly recommend this place.

Really good food. Ambience is great. We've been coming since it opened and the service has sped up which is great cuz otherwise on weekends there'd be long lines that took a while to clear. Kid friendly. They hook up your kids with a zucchini muffin, gummy bears and a strawberry. Desserts are great. My go to is the steak piadina with spicy pesto sauce and extra zucchini.

I really like this place and i want to love it... I was a huge fan of the pizza that i got, i went easy since it was my first time and got one of the suggested pizzas which was like a spicy pulled pork pizza with some veggies, and it was awesome! A big fan of their crust, and the meat was sooooooooooooo (was that enough o's) scrumptious! My wife got a pasta with alfredo and some stuff in it, and really it wasn't anything special, though she did like the flavor of the lemon garlic rosemary chicken that was in it. A few others who don't care too much for the place said the only thing they ever tried was the pasta, so i think they should experiment with some other methods, and something other than angel hair pasta. It would be cool (though time consuming) if they topped the pastas with cheese and put them through the pizza oven. I really love that they locally source as much ingredients as they can, and it certainly shows in the meat. The reason i don't LOVE this place YET is because of the way people who have never been to Cafe Rio before who go on a super busy rush probably feel... this place is essentially the Italian version on Cafe/Costa Vida etc, and thus when they are busy they herd you through the line with the same hurried lack of enthusiasm, especially when it comes to newbies like me. I was looked at like an idiot when the guy was asking me some options i apparently should have known about, not to mention that fact that it was so loud and he was talking so quiet that i had to hone my lip reading skills to figure out what he was saying. Im sure it would be better when it is not busy, but so far i have not been able to convince my wife to go again because she was not impressed with her pasta, i have at least been able to convince her that it sounds like their pastas are just so so, and she acknowledges that she should probably try something else before she keeps shutting my down when i suggest this place. I will for sure go here again soon even if i have to ditch the wife somewhere else, because i am anxious to try some of their other ingredients and especially want to try the beef.

One of the most underrated restaurants around. The food is fresh, flavorful and more than anything else, quite unique. You don't order pumpkin seeds very often elsewhere! It's not a copy of another restaurant. I have tried several of the dishes and enjoyed the Kobe steak salad and a pasta bowl. The staff has been very friendly. My only complaint is that there isn't a location in Provo/Orem. Highly recommended if you want something outside the normal.

Had dinner here tonight for the first time... Yea, I have been missing out. The food her is amazing. The other review talks about fresh herbs; that is an understatement. The restaurant is full of herb cabinets, the place smells amazing. The food is outstanding and reasonably priced. I guess i would call it Italian fusion. I think it is owned or started by Cafe Rio; it has the same kind of feel. The flat bread looks like tortillas, but tastes like bread. The crowed was light tonight; some gave less stars because if the crowd; i am not sure that is a fair assessment. The food and service is outstanding, certainly the crowed is a testament to that. What ever you do... Get desert. So good I took a picture. Prices are great, about $20 for two with desert. Casual dining; kind if medium fast food. Will be back for sure; a new favorite.

My wife an I attended The Wild Zucchini Grill this week. This marked our 2nd visit in the last many months. We haven't run into any service issues as some other reviewers have stated. With that being said, the food to me, misses the mark on "great". It's ok, but I felt if you're going to charge the prices for the dishes that are served, it needs to be great. I got the "Piadina" or their wrap/sandwich. I got it with steak that was tender, yet under-seasoned. The problem with the sandwich, is with it being served in a tortilla. It doesn't hold up against the amount of toppings that they put in it. It fell apart as soon as it came out of its serving vessel. The biggest drawback, was that the entire dish, was barely warm. When adding pasta, and other grilled veggies that have moisture to them, the dish is destined to fall apart and to not impress as far as texture is concerned. It tasted fine, so it was ok. My wife got the pasta bowl, which she loved. She was able to choose the toppings that she wanted and loved the flavors. Again, it was barely warm. The serving was large enough that she had a generous amount to take home and once she warmed it up, she loved the pasta bowl even more. Where they do shine, is in appetizers and dessert. My wife loved their Burrata which is similar to Bruschetta. The bread was toasted perfectly and the mozzarella was creamy. Their "donut" type dessert called "Bomboloni" was great. They were hot, fresh, airy, and tasted like a Cinnabon. All in all, it's ok, it didn't impress, but it didn't fail completely. Try it out, but if you like your food hot, you may need to ask for it that way. If my wife decides she would like to go back, we'll definitely ask for our food at the temp we desire.

The first time I ate here I was blown away. The 5 subsequent times have each decreased my like for this place. I remembered it being so flavorful and fresh with toppings and ingredients. Maybe the novelty wore off for me. If I'm already in the area, I'll go back again, but I wouldn't drive specifically to get there.

Lots of options here to really customize your meal. We got a vegetarian salad and a vegetarian pasta bowl. There were lots of toppings available. My only complaint, silly as it is, is that the servings were so big, and you end up with this healing pile of food that all tastes the same because it's all mixed in together. I enjoyed my meal but got sick of the flavor before my stomach was filled up. It was good but not anything I was left raving about. The service and atmosphere were excellent, however.

I've been here a few times. Its good food and a fresh idea. I would give it a great rating however I was disappointed in the service on my last visit. I noticed they didn't put any sauce on my food as I had before on previous visits. When I went back to the counter and asked them about it they let me know that sauce is no longer a standard item and if I wanted it there would be a cost associated with it. As far as I could tell this was not posted anywhere on the menu nor was I given the opportunity to have a sauce on my meal when I was in line.

This place is hella good! It's an Italian Chipotle and I am in love!! Had the chicken, pesto & Alfredo "sandwich" which is actually a burrito. Added artichoke, olives, sundries tomatoes & cheese. I've been hearing great things about Cafe Paesan since it closed, and was excited when I found they would be opening a new rebranded location in American Fork. For months, a large banner has been teasing the strip mall saying "Opening in August 2013". My husband and I have been in a routine to drive by the restaurant and peek in every few days to see when it was open. That week finally by came in mid-October. And we are there opening week. I am sad to say that my expectations were not met, after hearing so much hype. It felt like an understated generic Italian Cafe Rio. Portions were much smaller than I expected. I ordered the piandia sandwich, and it was like a giant tortilla with 1 ounce of meat, 1 small ladle full of sauce, as many leafy greens and vegetables as you want, and then a big mountainous portion of plainangel hair pasta...all wrapped up. The sandwich was dry and boring, with not enough sauce, meat, or veggies. My body doesn't tolerate pasta or leafy greens, so I asked to not have the angle hair and extra sauce...but it would cost more...for half the food. They have all the ingredients to customize...but my $6.50 sandwich to make it the way I want it would cost $10. And it wasn't that exciting. My grandma ordered the shrimp salad and said it was just okay. The shrimp was cooked well, but the dressing wasn't great. And the greens had a funny taste to them. The portion size was decent, but my body doesn't tolerate leafy greens. I'm giving it a three start review. I think they have enough potential to warrant another visit. I do want to try their pizza (and the pizza oven wasn't functional yet). They need to make portion sizes better...and give a non-angel hair pasta option for the sandwich with more meat and sauce with grilled veggies instead of pasta.

This place is incredible! When you go in, don't expect it to be normal. It might feel like they're just taking leftovers and throwing everything together to make a meal. However, you'll be impressed with the quality of the meal. Very clean place and staff is very friendly. If you don't know what to put in your meal, they'll help you out.

Excited to visit the new wild Zucchini in Sandy and witnessed the worst service I have ever seen. The women who appeared to be in charge stomped around the restaurant telling customers they couldn't save a table... The first person with small children and baby said he his wife was in line, same with the second family, she then took a picture of him without his knowledge. Out of disgust, the father left with his family. She then proceeded to tell two small children probably ages 8 or 9, to move. They said they were told to wait at the table by their Mom. When the little girl started to cry.. I had enough and asked her to leave the children alone. The mom then walked up food in hand... And turned into a mother bear! They packed up their food and left. By the way all this time over 10 tables were not being used! Good (not great) food... And I'll not be back!! Negative 5 Stars.

Wild Zucchini rocks! Everything is fresh, original, tasty, and we can't wait to come back. We tried the beef and the lemongrass-Rosemary chicken. Both get five stars. The Thai salad (dunno why a Thai salad belongs here) was vibrant and flavorful. We also tried the fries veggies. I don't love deep fried things, but they were also good, and the sauces were a smart compliment. Food = aces Service = friendly Cost = quite reasonable Portion size = generous Restaurant = clean and stylish

I've been here twice now and I've had different experiences, but overall I've liked the food. The first time the line was so long and it moves so slowly. The second time we came for a late lunch and there wasn't a line at all. The staff was friendly both times and offered topping advice. I got the piadina which is like a wrap that has pasta in it. I got it with Wagyu steak, alfredo sauce, lemon garlic aioli sauce, sundried tomatoes, corn, asparagus, onions, peppers, etc. I would eat the steak every day if I could. It is the same steak I've gotten at an expensive restaurant in Salt Lake, and it is super tender, moist, and delicious. I think the amount of food is decent for the price, but you may leave still wanting a little more. If you can avoid a line I think the experience is much better, especially if it's your first time here.

We love Cafe Rio, and were excited to hear of the impending opening of Wild Zucchini, which we had learned shared the same ownership. We found WZ to be profoundly disappointing. Only one pasta choice - angel hair - which was seriously overcooked. Calamari came at the end of our meal, and was 90% tentacles and veggies. Pizza was uninspired, with a sweet sauce that just doesn't cut it. Tortillas? In an "Italian" restaurant? Also, see if you can find the four egregious spelling errors on the menu board! Overall, a very disappointing experience. We won't be back...

A OK - I'm a fan. My wife loves the desserts here so we've been a couple times in the past week. The first visit was around closing time and it was really slow which I was grateful for because I needed a lot of guidance with ordering. The chef was selling me on the flatbread sandwich with angel hair pasta but I couldn't bring myself to do it so I went safe with the pork pizza with whatever else they thought was appropriate. It turned out really good! I was impressed with their confidence it recommending menu options and combinations. However I wouldn't want to go through the process of familiarizing myself with the menu during a lunch rush. The following visit I did try the flatbread sandwich with pasta with all of their recommendations and it was really good as well. There are a lot of unique toppings for sandwiches or pizza that have a lot of flavor. Summary: I don't remember what 2 meals with drinks and a dessert cost but I do remember feeling a bit hungry when I left and spending more than I would have at a comparable place (Zupas, Cafe Rio, etc.) Definitely a flavorful meal with fresh ingredients which is great.

Great flavors and simple menu. It's basically like Subway for italian food. You pick the basic type of food that you want - wrap, pasta, pizza, salad, etc - and then direct them what to add to it - meat, sauce, veggies, etc. It's a great concept. I've grown a little tired of the same couple of sauces though. I think I ate there too much in too short of a time though.

Basically, it was a party in my mouth and my taste buds were invited... And like grandpa said, "Do yourself a favor and GO THERE!"

I enjoyed the Thai salad but the sandwich was just okay. Next time I will have them leave out the angel hair pasta from the sandwich. The wrap was good and I thought the chicken was well seasoned. Be prepared for a long wait on a Saturday night, it was BUSY!

The hardest part about this place is figuring out what to get! It's delicious and worked out well, but there are almost too many decisions to make with the menu. Would love to see more obvious menu items or "house specials". Other than that, great fresh idea and great food!

Wanted to like this place so bad! Such a good idea/concept but lacked in quality. I order one of their veggie wraps and I couldn't finish it, it was WAY over salted. I'd try it again and order something diff but I don't expect to be wow'ed.

My wife and I love eating here! She loves the salads (I'm not crazy about them) but I love love love the pasta and the pizzas. I get the pasta with the diavolo sauce (may be spelled wrong.) We like that the ingredients are organic (or so they say.)

So yummy!! I love this place it is for everyone! I am Gluten Free and Vegetarian they have great options for me. So tasty!

So good!

Very poor. It was sad to see the owner act the way he did today. He ended up asking me to never return because I had a Costa Vida shirt on. Guess you can only eat where you work. I would suggest to never go here for the fact that the owner had no idea what costomer service is. Said to see a owner so mad.

  • Jenny S.

  • Clay A.

I really want to like this place..a simple menu for good italian food, which we don't have nearby. I like the personal pizzas, but... ...the main problem is their pasta dishes. Their sauces, from marinara to alfredo, are just meh.. They need to be thicker and tastier. I can't get my family to go back.

How gauche!

    (2)
  • Devin M.

Absolutely loved it! I went off the staffs recommendation and got a steak Piadina. The staff was awesome and patient as my wife and I asked what their favorites were. We will be going back!

  • Joe S.

  • Aunalia R.

No stars...we had a group of 10 including 5 kids and tried to sit down while our group was next to order and the owner REFUSED to let us sit. We explained that we were next in line but said we had to sit by the door...horrible customer service...NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY AT ALL!!!

  • Adam B.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
