Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

had the salmon insalata and it was basically a grilled piece of salmon on a bed of plain mixed green salad. not that great for the price.

Although the food is not the best, the service and location are definitely worth a shot. I have been here twice, once for lunch on a saturday and once for dinner on a sunday. Very different ambiance; both very pleasant. Again, the food is a little over priced for the quality and taste (very plain) but really I would consider it average compared to other italian restaurants in town instead of bad. If they came up with a new menu or add a little more flavor to their food it would be a 5 star.
(4)Mallory C.
They were busy, but the service was a little slow. We had some appetizers that were alright, but I found the food to be underwhelming, especially the Cesar salad. I just think you can find better Italian food elsewhere.

Stop here after leaving from Houston before going back to Dallas. I say this place is nice to look at from the inside and out (reminds me of cheesecake factory). I wish they would have put more attention towards the menu items. The only items I like to eat at brio are their bar menu items. Tried their pasta dishes but always found the sauce to be runny with no flavor. They should maybe consider making their sauce in house from scratch.

Once upon a time, I enjoyed getting a good filet at Brio's because it always came to the table as ordered. This is no longer the case. We will not be back. Last night I ordered the steak medium well. It had to be sent back TWICE! They kept serving it to me rare. There is a big difference between rare and medium well. When I finally got the steak, it was burnt. At conclusion, we were not offered a discount on the bill nor a free dessert. The manager did not visit our table because he was too busy chasing the pretty little blonde waitress (they finally disappeared from the scene completely). We had to pay the full bill.

We had a weekday lunch here. Caprese Salad was a nice starter, although they seem to be disguising the scant portion of mozzarella used, hiding the few pieces of thin slices under lettuce. Tomatoes were not great, and IMHO this is what the "STAR" of this dish should be. Shrimp and crab ravioli was ok. Spicy cream sauce was a pleasant surprise (typically I expect a bland sauce to complement subtle seafood flavors) for me, but I wondered how many palates had been singed with the unexpected heat.
(3)Mimi S.
Brio was actually ok. I ordered pasta and it was bland. I hate sending food back but I couldn't eat it :(. So I got the pork chop which was way better. My boyfriend hand the lamb chops which were the best. My son had the hamburger and fries he loved it. For desert we had the cheesecake topped with raspberry. Sweet but still good. The service was great. Great service can improve any foodie experience.
(3)Bob H.
Asolutely wonderful Stephen our server was excellent. He gave us the perfect amount of attention to all of our needs and request. The food was delicious. The crab cakes were wonderful

Where should I begin? first I want to thank Mandy P. for making sure our entire party was VERY well taken care of. ill be frank the night started very rough but then turned out stellar. some how between our reservation time of 745pm this past Saturday night we didn't have a table until about 30min after that and a drink order took another 30min to just get the drink orders in. it was a group of about 15-17 of us that we had a reservation for but we didn't expect things to be as slow as they started. but eventually everything came out in a timely fashion after Mandy Stepped in a took over. everyone left happy with full belly's of amazing food, and drinks. THANK YOU!!!
(5)Samantha H.
Food was just good. Service was slow & it was not even busy. I ordered the sweet potato & chicken risotto with a salad. The salad was soggy & inedible. The risotto should just be called salty chicken with rice & gravy. It was nice for the server to offer a free bday dessert, but we didn't know her name because she never told us. Overall it was ok, I just expected more.
(3)N. C.
Food was above average. Service was below average. Too many options within walking distance to have slothful waitstaff.

Brio cuisine is always a hit with my family. When we lived in Las Vegas we loved going to Brio at least once a month so it was nice to visit a regular spot. This place was not as glamorous as the one in Vegas or as big but it what was lost in ambiance was gained by friendly service and delicious Italian food. Everyone gets what they want and I love a healthy kids menu that offers more than a plate of brown frozen food. My gourmet kid gets his favorite grilled salmon, steamed broccoli and creamy mashed potatoes. My picky eater gets his tasty large pepperoni pizza. The warm sourdough bread basket is always devoured and the waiter brought us out seconds. I ordered a Lemon Drop Martini and it was perfection. Tart but sweet with a sugar rim and a brought out by our smiling waiter. I also had a petit filet with some yummy diced sweet potatoes and spinach and Mr. G ordered Mahi Mahi which he raved about. We had a pleasant experience despite the seating which I don't prefer when you're in a main walk way-so ask for a booth that's in the "middle" section to avoid traffic walking by your table. This Brio is located outside The Woodlands Mall with outdoor seating available.
(4)Jenn N.
Like most restaurants in the Woodlands, Brio does appear quite up scale but I didn't feel out of place coming here right after work for dinner. With a nice refreshing glass of Caposaldo Moscato, I noshed on some delicious prosciutto & asparagus bruschetta (topped with pinot noir onions and fontina cheese). But when my lobster and shrimp fettuccine (fresh shrimp and lobster tossed with mushrooms and tomatoes in a lobster butter sauce) arrived, I wish I hadn't gorged on my appie because the pasta was so good I wanted to eat it all and I couldn't! It is a bit pricey but the quality of the food and service here makes it worth it.
(4)Michelle G.
First, probably last time. Brought out-of-town family guest here to show what the Woodlands has to offer in Italian food. Wasn't a great idea. The decor and presentation is fancy, like you could expect to be impressed by the fine dining.. what you actually get is mediocre. We arrived at a decent time (before dinner rush) so the restaurant wasn't busy by any means. Noticed the large amount of staff/waiters available. The one we had may have been new? I don't know. Each person at the table asked for water, no lemon. We all got lemons, except my water had lemon, and no ice. Waiter quickly corrected that. Started with appetizer, that took forever and a day to bring out; he apologized. On to the entree - I ordered the lobster ravioli. Took forever to come out. At least one person at the table received their dish first, then a 10 or so minute delay in getting the rest. Just before serving mine, they discovered the wrong one was prepared (fettuccine).. Brought it out to me and said they messed up. Apologized for that too. Then offered to take that wrong dish off the bill. Like I wouldn't have to pay for what I clearly DID NOT order anyway?? Thanks for the comp! *sarcasm* When I was finally able to get what I ordered, it was pretty tasty. The whole experience wasn't worth the time and money, though. Surely there's better Italian restaurants in the area?
(2)Kim N.
It was my first time, aside from the bartender waitress, all else was a fail. We ordered fried calamari for our appetizer, i think the calamari was still wet when battered because everything came off, so you either had batter or squid and to get both, you had to scoop. My boyfriend loved his salad that came with the grilled chicken. The farro beans? We're chickpeas. Which I love chickpeas but why call it something it's not. I ordered the caprese salad and the lobster bisque and shrimp. 1 shrimp. Cut in 3 pieces, no lobster at all. No even the shreds, you can definitely taste the sherry. I love lobster bisque, but the and shrimp with the 3 itty pieces of shrimp was not good nor was the bisque in general. My salad came out the wrong size or something. There were 2 sizes and I ordered the large one and got the small which really didn't matter because I didn't even eat my food. The tomatoes were so mushy, i couldn't stomach them. Oh yea, i asked the lady about the food I had ordered, she had no idea. So she ran and grabbed a manager who appeared very silently and just stood by my chair for a second. I kinda jump when I saw the state that came with "is everything OK here?" Um, yes I think I got the wrong size salad. Can I bring you more? She handled it properly but it was just an overall terrible experience.
(2)Mark C.
The waiter and decor were amazing, the entrees were okay (pasta ala vodka), but the appetizer (spinach dip) and soup were bland. Not something I want to pay nearly $30 a head for again.
(2)Danielle P.
A very nice upscale-ish place in the Woodlands. The decor is fancy, and the staff well dressed, but the patrons are casual. This is probably a good date place, or a place to go if you want to impress people but not spend too much money. Not really a family place though I did see a kid sitting at a table watching a movie on her iPad. I was visiting my Aunt and we went for dinner. I ordered a pasta with a "spicy" (which was not spicy at all) red/cream sauce. She ordered a salad. We started with the calmari. The calamari was surprisingly good with two dips to mix and try. My entree was just okay, but she loved her salad. I wouldn't recommend Brio but its probably not a bad idea. The service was great, our server was extremely friendly, and the atmosphere was nice. I just wasn't much impressed by the food.

How would you like to only spend $3.95 for a gourmet tasting dinner? Well for $3.95 x 2 = $7.90 I suggest trying two of Brio's yummy gourmet appetizers during their Happy Hours. Well $3.95 probably won't fill you up but $7.90 just might. Yes they have 2 Happy Hours 3-7 pm and 9 till closing. All HH apps are only $3.95 each for great tasting upscale food items. They have about 10 items for their HH which many are smaller versions of their entrees. So if you want a lite meal without having a food coma afterwards head to their bar section during HH. Our food was absolutely delish. No complaints whatsoever. Happy Hour appetizers: Tomato and mozzarella capri Shrimptini Beef carpaccio Margarita flat bread Sausage and pepperoni flatbread Crispy shrimp picante Brio burger w/provolone Ravioli caprese Spicy shrimp eggplant - yum!!! Roasted spinach and eggplant hot dip They also have wine, martini's, mojito's and sangria spritzers for $5.00. Some of the martini's have 3 shots of booze FYI. Plus Jason makes sure you're happy with the overall drink. Our bartender Jason was a blast and handled our happy hour meal perfectly plus he was very entertaining! If he's not in ask for Blake. He also was very helpful. We had so much fun we'll definitely be back! I've eaten dinner here also for my birthday and would give the overall dinner experience 4 stars. I have had 3 of their desserts and all of them tasted so fresh. I highly recommend them for an after dinner treat. Actually they are so delicious it would be fun just to order a trio of them with some coffee and invite a friend to share with you :). They also serve lunch and have lunch specials till 3pm. Outside waterway view dining is also available. Definitely deals to be had at this more upscale restaurant on the waterway by the mall.

Been twice already and never disappointed. Food always hot, juicy and perfectly cooked. Try the cappuccino or the bruschetta.
(5)K P.
Great location (but you may have to valet park). Good decor. Excellent service. If that's enough for you, this is your place! If you want to eat food with great flavor, keep looking....
(3)Alexander H.
I particularly enjoyed the outdoor seating. The food is mediocre. The service needed improvement. My wife and I sat at our table for about 20 minutes and nobody came to wait on us, all the while I noticed a waiter and a waitress walked by. This came to an end when our host noticed that no one waited on us and he came by to ask us if we have been waited on yet. Well, he ended up doing the waiting himself.

Mother's Day Brunch - made reservations weeks early and then had to change them and add more people to out party. Mandy (?) was great about getting us a larger table reserved (via phone). My only disappointment was that when BRIO popped up as being one of the places that offered Mother's Day Brunch we just assumed it was a buffet type and it was not. They had about 5 breakfast entrees under a section called Brunch in their menu. My mistake for not asking. Regardless we all ordered from the brunch menu and shared items as to have a little of everything. The Mimosas were a little weak but the peach sangria was great! Food-wise we really liked the Eggs Benedict served on biscuits but you might want to pass on the French Toast. Was barely hot and just OK. The rooms there are beautifully decorated and they have outside seating as well. With our breakfast beverages the bill was high but we enjoyed ourselves. Servers and staff very friendly.

Dec 24th. 2014. Rented banquet room for my wedding dinner. Emailed the manager a week before with my requests. Arrived and noted napkins and table clothes not what I asked for. No water on the table for my family. We got there at 4 pm. Appitizers came at 4:30. Main meal didn't come until 5:30!! And they didn't make enough food for my guests. We only have the place until 6 pm. Not a lot of time to finish main meal. Plus they didn't even serve pomador sause with the chicken.. Small portions. Cheap for price we paid. Batley finished and they were kicking us out. Also.. I asked for 5 bottles of sparkling cider a week before for a toast ..they filled half the table then said oh sorry we are all out but we have some Apple cider. Soo sloppy.. I would never recommend them for a party.
(1)Kelly O.
Terrible service! Manager knew there was an issue and dodged us! Two people and the bill was $180. Not afraid of the bill, just deserved better service! Won't be back....
(2)Jade D.
The decor is great. The food is more on the average side. The service was also average.. My waiter had a long response time and we had to flag him down after we had been waiting 10 mins to order. The drinks came out fast and the food did as well. I think I was expecting better food. The wine list is extensive. I would not come back. Parking was terrible.
(2)Caffery P.
Food: B There is nothing wrong with their food, it's just not AMAZING. They cook everything pretty well and the presentation is quite good. Cleanliness: A- Pretty clean overall. There was one fly that landed on our table this time, but I've been there a couple times before and there were never any on those occasions. The bread can get kind of messy though, because it has lots of seeds and herbs on it. Service: A The wait staff is well-trained and polite. Most of them are friendly. The food comes out relatively quickly and the drinks are refilled often.
(4)Heather D.
The food is definitely not bad, by any means, but I give it a OK. We go here every year with my family in The Woodlands, as they love this place, for xmas eve but I've never been that impressed with anything we ordered here. My favorite dish by far is their lobster bisque. That is quite good. But the pastas and veal are all pretty average, not extremely creative, and the flavors usually just blah. Favorite drink: their apple cider, virgin or with rum, and a sugared rim! Yum! Too bad it's only a very seasonal offering. The service is good, sometimes a tad slow on the uptake from what I've experienced, the entrees and deserts decent, but for the price I just think I've had much better Italian. Maybe I'm just spoiled from the Italian offerings in Chicago. Who knows! Final Verdict: Seems like it's a family tradition to go here so we'll be continuing to come every year for xmas. That's ok though - the place is definitely not bad at all, it's just when I pay to eat out, I like to have a dish that's so yummy I think about it days later! I haven't experienced a dish like that at Brio yet after 3 years of coming.
(3)Cindy N.
The family came here for my brother's birthday. The salad was decent, not very green. I had the Pasta Alla Vodka as my entree and it was decent as well. The sauce felt off and I would not order that again. My brother had the crab and shrimp cakes and that was delicious. For dessert we tried several. The marscapone cheesecake was absolutely amazing. We went back several days later just for dessert. The waiter was amazing and attentive and the atmosphere was nice.
(3)Sibyl C.
Food was okay! Most importantly to me....The server was extremely rude & obnoxious. We dined on the patio. This was my 2nd and LAST time dining there.
(2)Haley Y.
My family and I went for brunch on a Sunday and this was not our first time at Brio. The service at this location was awful. Our waiter took forever to bring every portion of our meal, our coffees were cold, some of our food was cold. He spilled water, dropped a dish...everything you can imagine. The manager was busy taking care of a table that he had already upset. She did nothing to make sure our meal or service was okay. As a manager, she knew he was providing poor service and should have stepped in. It took us 2 hours to have our meal and she never approached our table once. We will NOT be going back here.
(1)Joe C.
We were seated promptly but it took a while until someone took our drink order, but we were generously accommodated with any Primi appetizers we desired by the manager for the minor inconvenience. We chose the Bruschetta Quattro which feature 4 of their different Bruschetta's, it was quite appetizing for 2. I ordered the Chicken Comodora Classico and it was delightful! Full of flavor from the marinara sauce drizzled with basil pesto, with thins cuts of chicken, halved cherry tomatoes, and pine nuts. My friend ordered the Fennel Sausage Pasta, he didnt enjoy it quite as much as I enjoyed my dish. It was the overpowering of the rosemary in the sausage I believe why he didnt like it. It was our first visit at Brio and we will be going back again!
(5)Dan F.
Breakfast with Santa - disaster. My kids and I went to breakfast with Santa the year before and it was great. This year horrid. It was packed, it took 30 minutes to be acknowledged by wait staff. Then no one would help us. The acknowledgment was someone skirting by dropping off muffins then tearing off. Finally when we did order and got our food, the French Toast was toast, burnt first then sent back, then toast with sweet cream cheese between two slices. This was not French toast. They didn't even bother to drop it in batter. Terrible. I have say we will never return to this restaurant and as you can see from my previous review we liked it but this experience was just too much and too disrespectful. Everyone in my family left disappointed.
(1)Angela S.
The food is delicious. I highly recommend the pork chops. Yum! Our service was terrible. The hostesses never smiled or said hi. They seated us quickly but it was by a cold door and that wasn't pleasant. No waiter was assigned to us so we sat there for 10-15 minutes before anyone stopped to ask if we had been helped. We then ordered our drinks and met our waiter about 5 minutes later with our drinks. Our bread didn't come out until the food did and refills were hard to come by. Our waiter, and even the manager, walked by several times and didn't come to check on us. When our food was delivered to the table we got no grated cheese offered to us. I wasn't aware they had any until I saw another table get theirs later. When I mentioned this to the waiter at the end of the meal he said "Sorry. Do you want me to bring you some?" At that point we were done with our meal. We paid $80 for our meal and I've had better service at a burger joint. I doubt we'll be back. How sad and pathetic that a restaurant of this caliber doesn't know how to treat guests properly.
(3)Eric G.
We have been several times. nothing beats sitting outside (on one of the 3 we get each year in the area) on the waterway and enjoying good food, nice wine, and friends/family. While this is a chain restaurant, the food is very good and we've never had bad service. Prices are fair and the portions are fair. Overall, has always been a good experience
(4)Doug W.
The staff was beyond service minded and friendly. The food was brought out very quickly, and the server was very aware of timing. Appetizer, cocktails, main dishes and dessert with after dinner coffee. All very well priced and served with a smile. The management was also superb. Jim stopped by out table no less than 4 times to make sure we had all we wanted. Great job, Brio!
(5)Paul L.
Brio has become horrible. We have loved the food and ambiance for years but that has all changed. Last Saturday night we spent $168 plus tip on a barely edible dinner. Only the lobster bisque remains good. And the service...very sweet but totally inept children. Wrong orders brought, wrong bill brought, reluctant to bring a new straw for the ice tea etc etc.
(1)Cobalt Z.
Ever wanted to actually experience life as a cow, where you graze endlessly and mob the salt lick, while large animals around you grunt and groan as they chew their food? Let me explain. First off, I will never understand how a series of restaurants built in the shadow of a Barnes and Nobles, on top of a former expanse of Woodlands Mall parking lot, can suddenly be considered a "destination" complete with snooty valet service. Really? The mall has 18,000 spots. Thanks, I'll skip the valet. In any case, the restaurant is visually appealing and has a small bar that has a good variety of wines by the glass and made a decent Manhattan. (Not my usual drink but a good day for a departure). Bar staff was friendly and efficient. Where things went off the rails was actually the food itself. Appetizers (bruschetta and calamari) were both mushy and overloaded with toppings and sauce. Both of those dishes need to be crisp and minimalist- Tuscan food should be simple so that you can taste the quality of the small number of key ingredients- basil, olive oil, fresh tomatos, etc. The cooking here is definitely of the "more is more" school, and in fact might even be a leader in the "if more is more, than ridiculously more must be.... even more!". For the mains, it appeared that the winning dishes were the grilled meats, perhaps the forte of this restaurant. The pork chops and lamb were enjoyed by our dining party. However, my carbonera appeared to have been thickened with corn starch, gelatin, and perhaps even a tad of concrete mix. However, as noted in my opening, I would have to say the key ingredient appeared to be salt. I would actually brand this as "Salt with a side of sticky white sauce on noodles with signs of spinach and a hint of overcooked chicken". I haven't had this salty a dish since I was dared into eating spam sushi. (Hawaiians have odd taste, but that's for another story). Also, serving sizes were of the movie-theatre variety - my dining companion's lasagna would likely have fed a small division of Italian infantry, while my noodle dish must have required enough semolina to keep a large family farm in the wheat business for another year. Given the prices in the mid-high range, I think you could do better for less at one of the lower end chain Italian restaurants. Better yet, find a better restaurant on Yelp - great Italian food doesn't have to be pricey, and not everyone is looking for a high-end Da Marco's experience. Skip this unless someone else is paying.

Had the rack of lambs and it was delicious well flavored and cooked the way I liked it. Fiancé had a chicken campanella dish and it was also prepared well. Service was bland it was not memorable which for how much the food was it was a turn off. Would try again.
(4)Gina Z.
I received a Restaurant.com certificate here good for $75. Let me say it was VERY easy to rack up a bill that high here since every item is a la carte. I most likely will not come back to this restaurant, but not for any other reason than it is very inconvenient to access. I was not informed it was Valet only, and being that my hubs and I were on a budget did not bring cash to tip our Valet. Made me feel horrible. The service was quick and on point. The waiter answered all of my questions being it was my first time there. He did not know answers to some but he was quick to get to the kitchen and find out. I appreciated that. The bread was delicious. I am a bread fan. Wanted cheese with it though haha I ordered the Swordfish and I loved it. First time eating swordfish and I was impressed. My husband got steak of course and it was cooked perfectly. But like I said everything was super pricey. My husband and I dressed up for the occasion, but were surprised to find most people in t-shirts, shorts and flip flops. Kind of disheartening because I wanted the feel of upscale. Either way, the restaurant was good, but I wont be going back any time soon.

I will go out of my way a little to eat here. Starting out with the bread and crispy flat triangles they serve, they're wonderful!! I could just go and eat that with some brie. I have some favorites though so I have to have them while I'm there. I've tried all of their Bruschettas and love them all. Entree wise, the Brio sliced steak salad is fabulous! The steak is always cooked medium rare and the flavors and dressings on this salad are the best ever! It's my favorite salad so it's hard for me to order something else when I'm there. The Mezza Chicken Under The Brick is also really good. The mashed potatoes are wonderful! The restaurant itself is really pleasant, the lighting is nice, the service is extremely good, and the restrooms are clean. I'd say this is one of my favorite places to eat.
(5)Tim D.
A very good meal. I had the Lobster & Shrimp Fettuccine, with a chopped salad to start. The salad was good and fresh, well chopped (as the name suggested) and well mixed. Every bite was a combination of the onion, dressing, cucumber, oh and some lettuce. Very yummy. The fettuccine was fresh. The sauce on the pasta had a little kick and was very tasty. Just enough shrimp and lobster on it. I would call it very good. Service was outstanding. Waiter checked just frequently enough, but not too frequently as to intrude or be annoying. Wish there were more seats for waiting out front (we were about 10 min early for our reservation). We valet parked out front; otherwise, parking there at the mall is impossible on a Friday night. But they don't validate, which is too bad. All in all, quite good.
(4)Julie S.
Used the private party room in the back. Wonderful food, amazing desserts, and great setting.
(4)Karen P.
I really enjoyed their lunch menu they had a great variety if yummy salads ! The price was right ! The atmosphere lovely I'll definitely be back!
(4)Sean S.
I ate here for lunch with friends who were raving about the food and presentation. I was told that the Beef Carpaccio and the Flatbread Pizzas were the best here. I had also checked out some of there other foods online and wanted to try the wedge salad and panini. When we arrived at the restaurant we were seated immediately and our server came to our table right away. We already knew what we wanted so we ordered right away. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The Carpaccio and flatbread pizza definitely lived up to their reputation, however I was unimpressed by the presentation of everything. The wedge salad was pretty typical and the panini was nothing to sing about. The fries that came with the panini were sub par. Overall, I loved the atmosphere and the service, but for the money I thought the food was just okay. Not what I expected from all the reviews and ratings I have read.
(3)Brian H.
If asked for chicken parm and was told this was the same thing... I don't agree at all, this was middle of the road at best and had an interesting seasoned breading on the chicken. I would try something else next time if I came back. Chicken Milanese Crispy Romano chicken with herb pasta, fresh Mozzarella and housemade Pomodoro sauce 16.95
(2)Nancy S.
Last night was my first trip to Brio's. It won't be my last. The atmosphere is inviting and authentic. I had the Grilled Shrimp over orzo....delicious! There were several families with small children out for a Friday night meal, so if little ones disturb your meal, there is a *back room* that is child-free. But, it's very much isolated, so we chose to sit by the window in the main dining room. Service was wonderful. It's a bit pricey. My entree was $20....but worth it. The flat bread was great, but try the dipping oil infused with peppers...
(4)Laura W.
Mmm...what can I say? This Italian restaurant is yummy! The ambience is perfect couples but great for groups and age-appropriate families as well. I love the bread basket they give you right at the beginning. The specialty drinks are always very tasty as well. This restaurant serves very scrumptious salads and entrees so basically you can't go wrong here. I don't remember ever get a bad meal here or ever leaving unhappy. And the location is a perfect place to bring a date because it's right next to the Woodlands' Waterway which is very romantic.
(5)Jenn B.
This place was pretty good. The bread basket was excellent, I loved the flat bread. I ordered the flat bread pizza, and everyone agreed that it was the best thing that was ordered at the table. Very good, fresh, YUMMY! Boy had the vodka pasta which was good as well. Mom had some kind of specialty seafood pasta that was just not good. That, along with the fact that it is over priced keeps it at just three stars. They did have an excellent Chianti though, we should know, my mom and I shared two bottles! Can't find it anywhere else though :-( I don't see any reason why we would go back to Brio. It was good, but nothing to write home about.

~ Sometimes in life, when you walk into a place with expectations and it most likely doesn't meet up to the expectations, than the experiences you just had is not up to par. Why do we set ourselves up for these failures from time to time. Counting this experience as another notch on the belt, a statistic well worth documenting. ~ I was told by so many people that this place was great place to dine on Italian food, so a picture was painted in my mind of the greatness this place has to offer. I wanted to see a Picasso instead i got street art displays. ~ We order 2 different kind of flat bread dishes which they are known for and 2 different appetizers, including a salad. I don't recall exactly what they were because that's exactly how i felt. Food wasn't bad but it wasn't great, ironically, i love the bread basket you get before any meal, plus points for that. I had better Italian food for less. ~ The service wasn't good, not enough waiter for a busy place. A place of reputation should never be under staff for dinner time, that is your bread and butter moment of the day for operation to make the necessary income. Major deduction in points. ~ Well maybe next time i wouldn't have too much expectation and ruin the moment but be spontaneous and just enjoy the exploration of the simple pleasures

I did my daughter's grad party here. Excellent party planner person, right size of private room for a group of 10-40 people, great food options from informal/economical to several-courses meals. The setting is classic and elegant, they accommodated our every need and even provided easels, projection screen and other particulars. Unlike other places, we could linger as long as we wanted, didn't have to rush for the next group to come in. Their brunches are about the best in town, and their salads are great. We don't have a single complaint. The 4 stars go because, being in the mall area, parking for a large group is not convenient (they do have valet service, tough)

I'll come here a few times a month for lunch. The food is great and everything thing I've ordered has been consistently delicious. I think my favorite thing is the bisque I can have that everyday. Actually, I think I want that right now! For dinner the portions are huge. You could totally split the lasagne and still take some home. I love sitting outside near the waterway and have a few glasses of wine in the evening. Bottom line is you get what you pay for with service and food. Good times.

Love this place!!!!!! Come here very often! The food is amazing! I always start with the Spicy Shrimp & Eggplant. Sounds odd but it is delicious! They have great peach team and a yummy Peach Bellini (alcoholic). Tried watermelon martini but I didn't like it. I think I'm just not a martini fan.I've also tried the brushetta sampler which had some really good ones! Field Greens salad has to be one of the best salads I've ever had. I sometimes order a double with chicken as my meal and it is filling. My other fave dish is the lasagna. Also the best I've ever had. The taste is so fresh, does not taste like frozen ingredients at all! My sister always gets the chicken Cesar salad which I enjoy. And the bistecca salad is yummy too if you like the rich dressings. It does have gorgonzola, Italian blue cheese, which I like. My parents usually have salmon or steak which I tried and liked but I have to get my lasagna! Which they have a half portion with a salad if you wish. The dinner lasagna is a huge portion though. And the bread dipped in the sauce is heavenly! For dessert I usually do Moscato and their mini sampler dish. They're like small dessert shots It has creme brûlée (best one), a strawberry dish and tiramisu. I want to say it has a chocolate one too. We usually don't have room for dessert, but when we do that's our pick. My dad always gets the Cafe Toscano which is spiked coffee and it is awesome! I took away a star because of service. Hosts are usually always cordial. But service is sometimes slow. Personally, I feel it's because we are Hispanic. They think we don't know how to tip so why bother (happens a lot). But I worked six years in a restaurant (Olive Garden lol) and I alway tip at least 20%. Servers take care of the tables they feel will tip them better. Trust me I know! Once actually, servers were behind our table on the compris cussing about another table. I had to speak to the manager because that is not the type of restaurant Brio's is. We've been going there since they opened and have never encountered a situation like that. If you haven't been yet you must go!

I ordered up the Tournedos Di Manzo: Two 4oz. filets, served with Romano crusted tomatoes, asparagus and Hollandaise 25.50 This meal was the best I have had in a long time. The Romano crusted tomatoes were so good and the filets were perfectly cooked and so tender. If you are thinking about going to Brio's then be sure to consider ordering this meal!

I loved this place! I have been with a group and on a date. It was appropriate for both. The food is pricey but it is worth it. The portions are large enough to take home half or split it with a friend. The staff are decent and the food is great! The cherry vodka sour I had was absolutely perfect.

We did not have time to sit and eat at the restaurant, so ordered take out. parking is an issue if you just want to run in quick. The order was over $100 worth of food. The mistake I made was not checking to see if all the items ordered had been received until I got home. One of the main entrees was missing. I contacted the restaurant and the manager had in fact verified the item was on the original order but was not cooked, nor was I charged. The manager offered to provide the item if I were to come back in. given that the rest of the food would not be hot when I got back, I refused. The manager offered to send some coupons via mail as a peace offering. That was 4 months ago, haven't seen anything as of this writing.

After coming to Houston all the time to hang out, I decided I'd return my cousin the favor and go to The Woodlands instead. We decided we'd go to Brio for their late happy hour since we were both a little low on cash. We were the only ones in the bar area at 9pm, so you would think that would equal attentive service, wrong. The bartender was right in front of us, doing inventory I guess and we kept saying we were ready to order but he continued to do whatever he was doing. Finally he stopped to take our orders and went on about his merry way. He hardly engaged us, which I thought was odd, because here we are two good-looking gals and the only ones in the bar area, and nothing. My cousin and I entertained ourselves while we waited patiently for our food. I must say, I agree with the other reviewer, who said the wait is long. When our food did come out, it was worth the wait or we were just really hungry. I ordered a small plate that included eggplant and shrimp cooked in a sauce and their Brio Burger. My cousin ordered the flatbread pizza and Brio Burger. I must say, it was alot of food for each item on the happy hour menu to be $2.95. The burger was quartered and was served with "homemade" chips and everything else we ordered was good as well. The only downside, drinks aren't happy hour priced. I'd definitely go back again despite the decor and the so-so service we received, just in hopes of a better server whose service is just as good as the food. If you're in The Woodlands, make sure you stop by during the week for their happy hour, it doesn't disappoint.

Girl's night at Brio was pretty good. The atmosphere is great! The upscale feel and warm colors make this place very relaxing. The menu is pretty expensive and there really aren't a lot of choices. Only two fish dishes, a handful of overpriced pasta dishes, and plenty of chicken dishes. Our waiter informed us that we shouldn't get pasta because none of it was very good. This seemed like an odd thing for a waiter to do, but then again the pasta was the least expensive thing on the menu... I ordered an extra dirty martini which was wonderful. For my dinner I decided to go with the "meal deal." A choice of salad, one of three entrees and a dessert for 16.95. I chose the chopped salad, chicken fettuccine vodka, and let one of my girlfriends have my dessert. The salad was good, but really who can mess up chopped lettuce with dressing on it. The chicken fettuccine vodka was very good. The noodles tasted homemade, and were cooked perfectly. The sauce was nice and rich with just enough heat to it for a nice surprise at the end of each bite. There wasn't a lot of chicken in the dish, but what was there was well cooked and seasoned. The meal was worth the price. Our waiter on the other hand, was very interesting. Another reviewer stated that the waiters were youthful. This is true. Our waiter decided upon seeing that we were also young that cursing while describing the menu items would be just fine, and also he could tell us negative things about other employees. I did not enjoy that. I don't know about you all, but when I go out to eat I like to enjoy the company I am dining with, and expect to be treated like a customer not a friend by the wait staff. Other than that he did a good job. He was prompt, brought us bread once we asked, and checked on us several times. All in all we enjoyed ourselves. Will I go back? Possibly, especially if it is a special occasion.

This place reminded me of a romantic Tuscan getaway, complete with dark wood, dim lighting and the smell of garlic and olive oil spewing from the restaurant kitchen. This place is located right by Woodland's Mall, right off the water way which makes for great views. We were seated promptly and handed the menu to peruse. "What to have, what to have???" I stumbled upon the Tuscan Grilled Pork Chops, which was perfect because I had a craving for gnawing on some juicy chops. We also ordered the Beef Carpaccio, which was like heaven in my mouth. I know, raw beef may be a turn off for some people, but this was melt in your mouth perfect and did not have any sort of raw meat taste what so ever. The beef carpaccio was thinly sliced beef tenderloin drizzled with olive oil and topped with greens, capers and parmesan cheese. I am now a fan of raw meat, sorry vegetarians. To finish off the meal we ordered the Creme Brulee Dolchino Trio for dessert, oh.m.efin.g one of the best things I have eaten. It was like three courses of dessert heaven, complete with chocolate creme brulee, caramel creme brulee, and peanut butter creme brulee. Delish. It was a wonderful meal to end a wonderful night. If I'm ever in the area, I will definitely make a stop by at least for the carpaccio and dessert. A weird combination, but oh so good.

We come here often. The food is reliable and good. The setting is attractive. Tables are well spaced. Overall, the experience is suitably priced. That said, we've experienced a couple of problems with the staff. One lunchtime a waiter was so sulky that we thought about leaving (his temper appeared to have nothing to do with us as he was flinging menus around in general). We've also experienced an irritable bar man on one occassion. These issues haven't been enough to prevent us from returning and the place offers good food at a fair price (just work a little harder on staff training!)

Not too bad for a chain... good food and atmosphere.

Ate here for the second time and it was fantastic. I had the Penne with chicken and a chopped salad...very delicious. Service and ambiance can not be beat either. Highly recommended!

I've been a couple of times here and yes, the food is always GREAT! No matter what you choose on the menu, you can't go wrong at Brio. The service however isn't perfect. It's not bad in any way but it just misses something that you are expecting from such a place. The price is higher then your regular italian chain restaurant but the food they serve is definitely worth it.
(3)Stacey W.
I love Brio. Great for lunch. Some reviews say it's an upscale Olive Garden, and I can see that, but the food is very different. The chicken under a brick is very flavourful. My favourite dish is the Chicken (or shrimp) Diavolo substitued with angel hair pasta instead of the regular penne. They never mind me asking either. You can also order a half-portion, also never felt bad asking for. Service has always been good to me.

We ate here and it was a experience! The waitress sat us, took our order and that was the last time we saw her, I had to wave someone down to get our drinks....then the manager comes out with our food a hour later and apologizes for it being late. I didn't care at this point cause I was so hungry but I can't stick my fork in the chicken to cut cause they burned it to the core! Great what do I do? Wait another hour to get another burned chicken fillet, let alone find someone to complain too? I gave up and didn't eat, no one came by our table to ask how the food was or why I wasn't eating. Finally another waiter noticed we were done and dropped off our check. I told him about the chicken and he just looked at me like, I don't know what to do?! I just paid and left and of course left a small tip and went to McDonalds :P

Outstanding! We took two friends out to dinner, used the very convenient valet parking, waited 5 minutes in the cozy bar and were seated at our table. Very attentive young waiter. Ordered our wine (a reasonably priced ($39) bottle of Paso Robles Merlot, a glass of chardonnay and our food ranging from veal milanese to lamb chops all prepared in an attractive manner, tuscan style and ambience with the aromas of Italy. The manager constantly walked around greeting and checking that everything was good. My veal was excellent and plentiful. Unfortunately one of my wife's lamb chops was clearly rare (ordered medium well - which the rest were) so she left it to one side. Out of character I never said anything but the waiter noticed, apologized and then asked if we wanted desert (which we had not planned on having). He came back with the trays and offered them on the house to make up for the lamb error. We gratefully accepted - delicious. Then the manager came over, chatted and apologized. Service the way it would be in Italy!! Great food. We will be back!

I love italian food and I like Brio's. and yet it is another chain. I didn't realize Brio's was a chain until one of my friends said there was a Kansas City location. It's pretty good food and doesn't feel generic so I guess I can put the snobbery aside for Brio's. My favorites are beef carpaccio and bellini's. I could have Brio's beef carpaccio and bellini's all day long. The mushroom ravioli & pizzas are good as well. I had the lasagna once and it was just, eh. I would think that an Italian restaurant would have killer lasagna, but Brio's does not.
(4)Uyen L.
I love this place. The food is great and everything thing I've ordered has been delicious enough that I had to come back the next night. The waiter was attentive and actually even remembered me from the previous night.

Going to Brio is one of the reasons I miss living in The Woodlands! Brio has a great regular menu as well as a fantastic brunch. My all time favorite is the Crab & Shrimp Crepes. YUM! The best thing about Brio is I get something different every time and it never disappoints. Dinner is good as well since they have an good wine list. I can't go to Brio without having their wedged salad, I'm a sucker for the dressing! Just thinking about the menu makes me want to get on I-45 N and exit Lake Woodlands!!!

Italian chic decor with youthful waiters and delicious food. My husband and I went to the Earth, Wind and Fire/ Chicago Concert at the Cynthia Woods Pavilion last night. We wanted to have a romantic air conditioned dinner prior to facing the outdoors. We decided on Italian food and headed to Brio around 5:00PM. We were seating immediately. Neal, our waiter was polite and attentive. We nibbled on the flat seed crackers that glistened with toasted sesame seeds, garlic and rosemary. The rolls were tasty. My husband ordered the Steak Salad and Chanti Acinum. I ordered the Chopped Salad and the Chicken Limone. The chopped salad was a blending of various fresh vegetables, a lightly sprinkling of Feta Cheese and Red Wine vinegar. A good meal started, but I would have liked to have had a darker colored lettuce the the iceberg or romaine. My husband's Steak was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth. His salad was good, but also could have used more interesting lettuce. The Chicken Limone was lightly breaded and played a little happy dance on my tongue. The sweet Limone sauce with salty capers made me hum for more. The side of fettuccine with vegetables in a light red gravy was small, but adequate to garnish the plentiful serving of chicken. When we finished we asked for cappuccino and coffee. Neal then presented us with dessert options in tiny demitasse cups. You could order a large dessert, but some how the petite ones were just enough. My cappuccino was properly frothed and my creme bruele properly tart. As we were eating, we could see the restaurant filling up with families. It became noisier, but friendly. The youthful waiters and waitresses dressed in white long sleeve shirts, black pants and long black aprons all purposefully moved around the aisles in the restaurant. Some carrying dishes from the kitchen whose flames flashed as sauces were created. Everyone was polite and friendly, but very busy. There were parties in the elegant back rooms. The Burgundy and gold fabric backed chairs and booth mimicked the flames from the kitchen. The view of the canal and the woods contrasted cappuccino colored walls, and the black and white awnings. Sitting in a booth helped keep us in a romantic mood. We had fun and will return with our family.

Hmm, let me think: 1. 15 minute wait for a waiter (that's almost a pun) 2. Waiter does not know the menu. 3. Waiter is not paying attention to us and is a rare sight at our table. 4. Food is okay, but not worthy of an upper-class rating. My wife's beef was dry and my veal was only saved by the marsala sauce. The accompanying spinach was not even cooked. Potatoes were boring! bruschetta sampler was overpriced and on soft bread (c'mon! you could have at least toasted it!) 5. Waiter cannot tell the difference between marsala and beef medallions - literally! I mean, really, get a freaking CLUE. 6. Check had an item on it that we did not order. 7. Glasses of wine were not consistent in volume. 8. Had to ask 3 times for water. And never got refills. 9. We were sitting near the kitchen, so we could see all of the dishes piling up waiting to be taken to the tables. Sitting under heat lamps, like a fast food burger. 10. When the waiter did show up, it was because he wanted to ask (upsell us) if we wanted to check out the dessert menu. Yet we weren't halfway through the dinner yet. (In a hurry, bub?) 11. Tried to clear my wife's plate before she was done. (You have a death wish, too?) 12. Crappy experience for a very rare night out with my wife. Now I remember: I won't be back here anytime soon. Food is mediocre for Italian and the service absolutely sucks.
(2)J T.
We ended up with more in our party than expected - something like a dozen of us. The staff reacted quickly and accommodated our small crowd by adding another table. Conversation and cross-talk was our focus so I didn't get to pay too much attention to the overall dining experience - which is good because that means there was nothing negative to distract. I will say my veal was outstanding and several commented on quality of their dinner. The rack of lamb looked fantastic. One cup of coffee kept me up till my 5:25 AM flight.
(4)David N.
So my only experiences with Brio have been Happy Hour, just because their food specials are crazy! But recently I came back and saw that they added DRINKS to their happy hour. But I gotta admit, if you're going to offer drink specials make them drinks at least good, if not just keep it off and keep pushing out the food and charge normal price for the drinks. I still love the flatbread here, but will skip the happy hour drinks.
(3)Thomas W.
Well, the Wine was good !!!!! However, the food was cold when I got it and I paid $20 for about 5 Mushroom Raviolis. I probably will not eat here again.
(3)Ron L.
Very good italian food, good wine list, great atmosphere. Also good place to go with kiddos. Glad they have finally opened one if Houston.

We weren't quite sure what to expect upon entering. Our service was very underwhelming. Our server never introduced herself and we were never offered bread. It was as if she wasn't interested in serving us (maybe the sight of my 2 yr old, I'm not sure). But whatever, we rubbed it off. We originally had an appetizer ready to order but because of the distance our server had with us, we decided to just order our entrees. My fiancée had a lobster & shrimp fettuccini, my daughter chicken parmesan (Huge portion by the way), and I had the artichoke crusted beef medallion. My meal was absolutely amazing. The meat was cooked a perfect med rare and each slice was to perfection. I could not stop talking about dinner for the rest of the week. It was the best dish I've had all year. It is the herion of food. It was damn amazing. I took a bite out of the other dishes...and they were just as delicious. My daughter obviously couldn't finish her 'kids' meal and my fiancée almost finished her dish. Both happy as hell with dinner. Which of course, makes me happy. So with that said, our service wasn't memorable. We would rather forget the service we had but our dinner completely made up for the lack of connection our server gave us. I tipped her 21% only because our meals we wonderful. We'll definitely make another trip back someday. But it will be only because of my dish. Beautiful place, lovely food. I would have given it five stars but it lacked service. Oh well, go check it out.

I always look at the menu online before I venture out to any new restaurants. Brio Tuscan Grille was no exception. As I was skimming the menu, I thought... this ain't no Olive Garden prices. BTG is a fancy schmancy place. Lambos and Range Rovers were being valeted, Botox injected women were entering. No, I didn't get my '03 Xterra valeted. I've got legs! They've got great drink specials during the weekday for $5. I started off my dinner with the White Peach Sangria. I'm not much of a drinker and wanted something light. This was perfect. It was very refreshing for the summer. If you come before 7pm on a weekday, you can order their 3 course meal for $19.99. It comes with either a soup or salad, main entree, and a dessert. The soup (whatever is soup of the day) was very fulfilling. For my entree, I ordered the Chicken Limone. It comes with roasted vegetables, small side of herb spaghetti, and, of course, the chicken. My first bite of the chicken was overly tangy. It was a little too marinated for me. Maybe the roasted vegetables and small bites of spaghetti are there to alleviate the powerful taste. I know my taste buds were working overtime. For the dessert, you get a chose of 5-6 small choices. Think of it as the small parfaits that you see at La Madeline. For me, I don't know if it's worth it to come back here if it's not during their dinner specials (before 7 pm). Our server, Joseph, was great and took care of our table of 7. *** If you do decide to come here, sign up for their Brio Tuscan Grille Club! They will email you right away for a complimentary Bruschetta Quattro ($14.95 value!). It's perfect to share with your table.***

I visited Brio's for the first time and was frankly disappointed in the service. We were there for the breakfast with Santa (which was overall a nice event thanks to the Woodlands Santa) this morning. We order orange juice for my daughter and lemonade for my son. My daughter took one sip of her orange juice and gagged. I tasted it and at first, I thought it had alcohol in it like maybe they gave her a mimosa instead of orange juice. I complained to the waiter, who immediately sent the manager over. The manager apologized but insisted that there was no alcohol in the drink and the drink just had soda water in it. Well I am mad now because I am not crazy. There was something wrong with the orange juice either it had alcohol in it or it had gone rancid. Either way not what you would expect at a Brio's type establishment. The rest of the time we were there we were made to feel like we did something wrong. Feel bad for any other child that had to drink rancid orange juice. The manager needs to learn a thing or two about customer service. Needless to say we won't be back. This my first yelp review hence how mad I am....

I had an amazing experience here because this is a wonderful restaurant. We sat outside in the patio area and it was romantic perfect for our date night. The pasta I had was awesome as was my glass of Riesling.

Brio is a great place for a family dinner or even a date. I have only eaten here a few times with my rather large family and always enjoyed good service. The food is good as well and is presented beautifully. I would never turn down the chance to eat here. It's definitely on my "go to" list of places to dine in The Woodlands.
(4)Hou T.
This place has excellent food and service. I only give it four stars because parking can be a PAIN. Valet gets full quickly so be prepared to walk! Their chicken mushroom risotto is a favorite of mine! The service is very attentive and well mannered. Even if they are busy you can get seated rather quickly during lunch. Great variety on the menu! Good stuff.

Terrific Italian. A,aging deserts. Perfect for date night.

So, we're out to celebrate a friends birthday with a reservation for 9 people. It's a quiet Sunday to enjoy some brunch. The waitress was cool but the food was eh, not what we paid for. Two dishes we ordered: Eggs Benedictano - Two eggs and Canadian bacon, served on toasted brioche with Hollandaise sauce, fruit and potatoes. (10.95) This was, I must say, the worst eggs Benedict i have ever had. The sauce was just overwhelming with is slathered on top. The potatoes were too crisp, I thought I chipped my tooth and the peppery sauce on top was made with butter and it was just too heavy and too much to take down. I think the fruit was the only pleasing thing on my dish and I had one dime sized slice of pineapple. Garganelli Carbonara - Grilled chicken, bacon, Parmesan and spinach (13.95) This dish was something I can put together in not even 5 minutes. The whole thing tasted like bacon. I can understand having the bacon on top, but each bite tasted like bacon fat. Pieces of plain pasta had the bacon taste. I love bacon but this was too much. To top off the dining experience here, everyone at the table ordered mashed potatoes with their meals, or a side of it, and did not get it. It was only 2pm and they messed up making mashed potatoes. We waited over an hour for our meal and then before serving us they tell us they wouldn't serve the mashed potatoes and wanted to know what we would like in replacement. I did not have a pleasant experience and I know for what we were spending I have had much better elsewhere.

Brio's is one of our absolute favorite restaurants to go to they always have great food great service and great attitude and they bend over backwards to make sure your a Happy customer Thank you to all the employees that work there that have serviced my wife and myself you deserve a thumbs up

Ok Italian food, but really chinchy on the lunchtime portions of pasta. Really guys? I can see through the serving to the plate. Will I break the bank if you give me sufficient food? I'm hungry.
(2)Julia N.
The food was definitely more than 3 stars but the service was a -1 so what can you do? Service was awful. Never got refills, server took forever to get our food order. It was ridiculous. After we got our food we never saw him again until I had to actually go look for him! We also ordered food to go and he completely forgot about it! We had to wait another30 min or so. Awful experience.

Happy Hour is the time to shine! Reverse 9-11pm Of course my cousin Ms."Foodie" told me about it because she knows I'm working with a college student budget haha.. My whole ticket was under $6 bucks and I was good and full.. The pizza The burger sliders with the kettle chips (AWESOMENESS TASTE) You can also get a glass of wine, on the splurge and have a nice walk along the waterway shortly afterwards!
