Wow did they bounce back. Reservation on time, a nice quiet table, excellent 5 course meal from beginning to end, and a phenomenal server. The ownership is what makes this place a must. Jason goes out of his way to please, and if you ate displeased he bends over backwards to change the experience to better. That is good business management and why this place is worth every penny. They are back to being my favorite local steakhouse. The others are too trendy, loud and don't seem to care whether a customer returns. With Jason, you feel he values your business if you're there once a month or once a year.

Visited there 2 weeks ago on Saturday evening, for our 30th anniversary. Tried calling for reservations, no one ever answered phone. Made reservations through an online service. Sign on door said proper dress attire, husband was concerned because he had dress shorts on. I saw a variety of attire walk in that was not dress. We were asked if we were celebrating anything special as we were seated. We told them our anniversary, was congratulated. Our waitress takes drink orders, brings them and asks if we were celebrating anything special...again, yes! Why bother asking when seating us if not relaying it to waitress?! Atmosphere was quiet, waitress was not. Her voice carried loudly. We placed our order. The appetizer "a crab cake" was very good, plenty of crab meat and fresh. We slowly enjoyed it. The waitress came over in her loud voice and said it will be a while that your meal arrives, you took care of your appetizer too fast! Food arrived. I got the filet. Cooked just like I ordered, good flavor and very tender. Snap peas and garlic mashed potatoes were the sides. We did notice other tables with baked potatoes, even french fries. We were not offered a choice of sides or recommended any additional sides. Would have been nice for that to have happened. Because it was our anniversary we were offered a dessert on the house. She rushed through the choices, I picked cheesecake just because I thought it would be okay. Again, would have been nice for recommendation. I had one glass if wine, husband had tea. He had New York Strip. Total bill was over $120.00.

Came here because of the Groupon deal I bought and because my boyfriend absolutely loves steak. The attire is business casual, I'm assuming they are ok with jeans on Friday because I had that with a nice blouse. The atmosphere is very nice but, slightly stuffy. We started with the Ahi tuna and it was actually very good! The flavor of the drizzle and the tuna just blended really well. I ordered the 12oz N.Y. steak. All steak dishes come with mashed potatoes, snow peas, tomato and green onion. I ordered it medium well and it was cooked to perfection! I was very pleased with it. It was juicy and the other side items were good. My boyfriend ordered the 18oz prime ribeye, medium rare. It was really juicy and had so much flavor! I was a little jealous I didn't get mine this way. Dessert was cheesecake with pecan Carmel drizzle It was delicious! The caramel tastes like Mexican caramel/cajeta. We finished it. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable but, not very attentive. I'm not sure if that's how you gotta be in a place like this lol but I could safely say he only went by to either drop off food, drinks and check. Here's what cracked me up, one of the servers stopped by to ask how everything was. We said it was good and asked about dessert, he laughed and said oh plenty of time for that And literally walked away from the table lol it was pretty funny but, Also kind of rude, but we got dessert so no worries. Overall? Pretty happy with our food and drinks and at the "eh" scale on the service.

Don't understand anyone giving this place less than 3 stars. Staff is attentive and food is spot on.

When you pull up to the strip mall this place is located in, it doesn't quite feel like the comparable locations nearby that give you the Dallas feel. That being said, the feel of this place on the inside is night and day from what you get on the outside. Inside of Silver Fox is actually pretty nice. The lighting is nice and sexy, the staff is dressed for their part, and the bar is quite attractive as the dim lights bounce off the many bottles in the back. The front desk staff was friendly and well spoken, she was polite and made me feel welcome. My wife made reservations to have my birthday dinner here; I had been here before, but it's been a while. We arrived and we were seated pretty fast. I originally wanted to bring my own bottle and pay a corkage fee, but they don't allow for that, so back to the car my nice Artesa Morisolii Cabernet went... no worries, I have no problem buying their wine since the wine list is pretty extensive. I ordered a bottle of Justin Cabernet from Paso Robles; I happen to dig that bottle and it's reasonably priced. When the waiter brought our wine over to the table, the decanter was dirty. I mean to the point that you could see where the last bottle had drips down the side of the bottle. I wondered if they even washed it... This is not good, especially when I'm about to order my food. While I understand that people don't drink from the decanter, it was still pretty gross to see old wine in my "should be clean" decanter. It's like going on a date with a hot chick that has body odor, she's still hot, but c'mon man, she's stanky, and that just ruins the vibe!!! So the waiter brought back a "cleaner" version of the decanter, to be honest, this one didn't seem a whole lot cleaner, but it was at least better than the other one. I was a little discouraged at this point since it seems like the waiter lost his vibe with me after I asked for a clean decanter. He didn't seem to like it when I said, "can I please have a clean decanter?" So imagine this, my wife and I are at my table with a bottle of wine, I have a waiter that is less friendly and seems a bit annoyed, and I'm still not super happy with my wine decanters cleanliness. Should I decide to complain, I feel I am putting myself in a compromised situation. I was tempted to ask his just to pour my wine from the bottle, but I figured worse case, I know people don't actually put their mouth on the decanter, they just pour their wine out of it.... so I let it be... on to the food... There were small details that were kind of nice, like for instance they took my wife's white napkin and brought her a black napkin to match her dress and the silverware were clean. LOL. The place was not too crowded for a Thursday night, so it was pretty quiet. I ordered the wedge salad; my wife ordered the mixed greens. For dinner I ordered the baseball cut filet and my wife ordered the scallops. My steak was cooked very well, but I'm not going to do the happy dance for a well-cooked steak when I'm at an expensive steak house, it's SUPPOSED to be well cooked. The sides were pretty yummy too, we had the mac and cheese, creamed spinach. My wife especially loved the sweet potatoes. My steak came with snap peas and mashed potatoes. We had a lot of food. I'll just say it, this place was just OK. I didn't have a bad experience, but I didn't have a great experience. I've been to several places recently where I have had great experiences. I gave this place three stars but it really deserves two and a half stars. Nothing really stood out, there was nothing that left me wanting to come back. I imagine they do quite well, but for me, it wasn't a love connection.

We continue to be more-than-pleased with Silver Fox' entire experience. The food is great, the service is prompt, friendly, and delivered by well-informed staff, there is never a drawn-out wait for a table, the price point is (relatively) modest, the bar is well-stocked and well-run - what else can we ask for ? Kudos to management for a consistently excellent product!

I was pleasantly surprised by ambiance considering the location. The food was above average, the waitstaff was attentive enough but there wasn't anything about it that justified 5 stars. 4 stars might be stretching it a tad but I read a lot if bad reviews but was it was overall pleased with the food. The 3 forks salad was really good but why not come up with your own tasty salad? My filet came with mashed potatoes and we split the creamed corn. The waiter boasted it as their famous creamed corn but it was about the same as all I have tasted. I would go back, it wouldn't make my top 5 steakhouse list but certainly worth trying. It was pretty pricey, dark and had full on a Thursday night at 7pm.

Fancy shmancy steakhouse in Richardson that we were introduced to last night for a close friend's birthday! We scored a private dining room since our party was rather large. We arrived a little early so we grabbed a seat at the bar and our bartender, Milo, served us. He was awesome! Very friendly and helpful but not overly chatty. A scotch and a red blend wine ran us about a $30. I guess it costs a hefty tab to get a chic ambiance like this. Once we finished our drinks, we met up with friends in the back room. We had the best service that I ever remember having anywhere in a long time! I forgot our waiter's name, but he was phenomenal! Because of our group size he threw in a couple complimentary appetizers, was well-versed on the menu, offered helpful suggestions and was quite funny. Our food came out promptly and was not disappointing. My boyfriend opted for the ribeye and was raving about how tender and juicy it was. I opted for the Atlantic salmon which was glazed and swerved along sweet potatoes and grilled veggies. Pretty solid but not exceptionally memorable. Still the service was so wonderful, the ambiance so chic and my boyfriend was so pleased that I'm sure we'll be back another time. Great choice for Valentine's Day as well... Fellas take notes. Though this place might run you a pretty penny.

We come up here and enjoy a few cocktails in the evenings. Great bartenders and signature drinks! My husband and I are major French Onion Soup fans and this is the place! Great flavor and really heavy on the onion. Perfection. The house bread and pickles are so addictive and won't leave you very hungry for dinner! Be careful :) The steaks are one of the best in North Dallas, and the prime rib is absolutely gigantic. Saturday night can be kind of busy if you come around 7 - be warned you may be waiting awhile if you don't have a reservation/Open Table reservation!
(4)Dominic P.
For an upscale restaurant, we were disappointed. They asked us what we were celebrating at the door, our anniversary, but neglected to provide the 'standard' treatment. When we made them aware of their mistake, they offered to make it up to us by giving a complimentary dessert, which is what they do anyway! The restaurant was poorly decorated and seemed dirty. The staff showed no sense of urgency and the food was mediocre. For the money, a Del Frisco's or Bob's Or even Nick and Sam's would be better. We won't be back.
(2)George V.
We did not even make it to dinner. They had such poor service we walked out. The good news is that we went to Texas and their service was awesome!

My wife wanted to come here for her birthday dinner tonight. Looked forward to coming here since it was our first time. This concept is owned by the fine folks of III Forks and the menu has some similarities. The atmosphere is nice, a notch below III Forks, and not in a bad way, and not pretentious. Bread & butter comes to the table. And man, it is good. Not as good as Bob's, but close. We started with the ahi tuna and tomato mozzarella salad. Both were superb. Dinner was a little challenging as we waited a really long time; almost 45 minutes. We were given an apology and was told they had a 100+ party going on and that the app station had some confusion. Ok, I am a reasonable person and not one for excuses. Just bring me and my family our food, thanks. Smile. We got the filet, Chilean bass, scallops and chicken. Side wise, we got asparagus, regular mac and cheese as well as the lobster mac and cheese. The main entrees were cooked perfectly and tasted great. The mac and cheese dishes were extremely meh and very disappointing. The asparagus was excellent. We skipped dessert because we were all so full. Check came with 20% off because of the wait. Everyone wished my wife a "happy birthday" a number of times. That was a really nice touch. All in all, a good experience. Not a place we will be rushing back to, but a definitely a place to be considered for a special event or something.

i had dinner with my coworkers this evening, the crab cake appetizer was very very good with lots of fresh lump crab meat. I had a tenderloin steak salad and the quality of the steak in the salad brought down this restaurant by at least two and probably three stars. The steak looked tenderized and the outside texture more resembled a pounded steak or hamburger steak than slices of tenderloin. The steak was cooked to order properly and tasted ok, but the texture was way way off. I asked for blue cheese dressing on the salad and got crumbled blue cheese with a vinaigrette like dressing. The sides we shared were asparagus which was way under cooked and creamed corn which was also under cooked. I stuck to water and skipped desert since i am trying to watch my calories. All in all it was a pretty disappointing for a $21.00 steak salad.

If u want lobster this is the VERY best place . idk how the chef does it but its so good steamed not chewy at all I had a little one 6oz inside and had a to go 14oz I for sure thought it would be chewy but it wasn't and we eat an hour later. When I got my bill for to go 200 for two listed 14oz dinner potato's and green beans come with. It is literally the best thing ever like an orgasm in our mouth. So expensive but if u like lobster so worth it. Can't do that to much cause its so pricey but solo delicious.

We took my parents to the silver fox for their anniversary. Over all the food is pretty good. I'd rate it 3 1/2 stars really. Although for the price, you'll be better served going to Bob's Steak & Chop house, Pappa's Brothers or Del Friscos. We ordered the bone in rib eye, lobster tail, 8oz filet, lobster mac & cheese, asparagus, shrimp cocktail , creamed spinach and chocolate cake for desert. Not quite the quality of food you'll get at the other above mentioned restaurants, but not a bad attempt either. That was our only time to visit the Silver Fox, so I can't comment on the consistency. Could have just been an off night. Bob's Steak & Chop house in downtown Dallas still leads the pack of fine steak houses, with Del Frisco's as a close second. Definitely worth a shot!
(3)Jose S.
The place is not only very elegant but the staff is great! Now the food is even better! The scallops and steak super. I even had desert because it look so good and tasted even better. Now the drinks are worth every penny.

My boyfriend and I went to the restaurant last night for dinner. We decided on this place because it was Restaurant Week in DFW. Once we arrived, we ordered off the main menu instead of the restaurant week menu. We concluded that there are better steak restaurants in the area, and that we would probably not be back to this restaurant. It was very loud, our waitress, Jeanine, was just mediocre. When we go out to an expensive restaurant, we expect quality service and excellent food. My steak was excellent, I will say that, but everything else on the plate was mediocre. My boyfriend ordered the chilean sea bass and it was just average as well. We ordered a piece of orange cake to go, because it was supposably one of their specialities, and it didn't taste any different than a cake we could have made out of a box. Unfortunately this restaurant didn't live up to our expectations.
(3)Tracy W.
Every course of the meal was delightful. From the 3 forks inspired salad to the prime steak prepared perfectly. The waiter did an excellent job at making me feel comfortable and taken care of in every way. The Bloody Mary was the best I've ever had. It was our anniversary and the best dining experience ever. I normally do not frequent restaurants this expensive but I will for celebrations.

Ate here at the bar last night (if you use Open Table, don't sit at the bar, you will lose your points) and spoke with the bar tender Mike along with another customer Jason for about 2 hours. The steak was great and the bread pudding exceeded my expectations. Parking was easy and the environment was classy; I showed up in jeans with a dress shirt and boots. Acceptable. I rated it highly due to the food and service. The staff was very friendly (I am out of town) and I would recommend this place as a great business dinner or even by yourself at the bar. It was slow on a Wednesday night and not the best place to mingle a bit if you sit by yourself perhaps. Bottom line, I will return during my next trip for sure.
(4)Tom O.
I had lobster bisque which was average but did have chunks of lobster added. I had Chilean sea bass , nice preparation and the sauce was tasty but parts of the fish were fishy which shouldn't be, but most of the fish was very tasty. Served with sugar snap peas which were perfect and potatoes, perfect. Good wine selection but a glass costs as much as the whole bottle at retail. Way too pricey. I like a good wine like Decoy but $18 a glass. Hell at wholesale the bottle is $14. Come on man! Nice dinner overall but you can do better price wise. Steaks run as high as $60. Ouch! My company won't spring for that much. Better find a new company or a more reasonable establishment or someone to buy my dinner if I come back here. Still spent $78 for just myself and only had 1 glass of wine. Holy shmolly!
(3)Julie D.
I met the man I date here so of course it's special to me. The bartender has always been so great and love their drinks. I actually really enjoy the burger here but need to find a favorite meal.

Seven of us visited the Silver Fox Steakhouse this past weekend for my brother's 40th birthday. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. We started off with the Beef Croustade, which was excellent. I had the Silver Fox salad, which was good, but not my favorite. Most of us had steak, but the Salmon and the Sea Bass were also ordered. Each entree was cooked to perfection. The ribeye and the filet were both very flavorful. The sea bass was excellent. My dad ordered the Salmon, well done, and said it was great. We also ordered the lobster mac and cheese, which was good, but I don't think it was worth $27.00. We could not leave without trying the desserts. I am a chocolate lover, but I was not impressed with the chocolate cake. I am not a bread pudding fan, but the bread pudding was very good. Overall, a wonderful experience and the food was great.
(5)Mrs F.
I am A Regular here, my husband and I Have been coming here for years, great service ALWAYS.
(4)Jamie H.
I would give it zero stars if I could. Rude employees from the hostess to the waiters. Unless you enjoy throwing money away at nominal food and awful service. I can see why people complain about the rude staff. I've never been to a restaurant where the hostess makes absolutely no eye contact. Please don't look at me like I'm a burden to your day when I'm going to spend money in your establishment. The menu doesn't have any descriptions on what is in the dish except for the steak weights. So with that being said you would think that the wait staff would be helpful and provide suggestions. That did not happen. My waitress came to take my order, bring my food, and drop off the check. No suggestions on more filling plates, no wine selections I mean I would've rather had a waiter try to up sell me on dishes and wine than one that was an order taker. The food is grossly overpriced. I cannot express that enough. I got the seafood medley as an entree, hearing the items I came with it would suggest that it was enough to share. The crab cake was cold, the scallop was over cooked and the shrimp was drowned in sauce and rubbery. I can go on and on about how subpar this place was and will if anyone asks. My advice if you are in Dallas.... Just skip this place. You'll get better food at Outback, Perry's or almost anywhere else and a much friendly atmosphere. My advice to the managers/owners teach your employees to act like they value the people that go to your establishment. If you insist on price gouging on nominal food you can at least have a knowledgeable and friendly staff. For god's sake McDonalds greets you when you come in and it's a sad day when I leave feeling like I just got robbed. You really should be ashamed of yourselves for charging half of what you do for the service you provide.
(1)Tracey S.
Love the location... Ahi tuna was not edible... Bummer... The worst was the vapor cigarette smokers /blowers. Really? Nasty. Calamari was good and wedge salad was consistent.
(3)Ori F.
we went there for new year's eve. I was disappointed at first when I found out they had set menu with few choices of meats and fish. I never had good experience with holiday set menus. The place was packed and had to wait over 40 min. to seat ( it is new year's eve). Once we were seated, the service was just amazing. Now the food, one of the best steaks I've ever had. It was delicious! I just cannot wait to go there again. It was worth the wait. And also try their desert with berries, forgot the name. It is also amazing.
(5)Jason W.
Was fairly expensive. However, I would consider it worth it. The steals were better than average. The crab cake was a little cool in the center but had great flavor. The shrimp cocktail was really good. The cocktail sauce wasn't as spicy as I like but was still better than average. The Lobster Mac and Cheese was the only thing that was weak. I think it lacked in flavor. The overall service was really nice. We had a good waitress. She seemed like she really cared and took initiative to explain meals.
(4)Cali M.
The bread was nothing special. The Tomato and mozzarella salad was amazing and fresh. The veggies and potatoes served with my steak were delicious! The lobster mac and cheese however needed work.
(3)David W.
We dined here this evening and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff was very helpful with the menu and gave us some great selections. We were given a gift card from our friends. The food was good but we have a couple other favorites for steak and seafood for the same price or lower.
(3)Lillian R.
A little over priced for the quality of the food. We have dined at other steakhouses that are comparable, but this one rated lower for us. The atmosphere is a little too dim lit for my taste. Our steaks were cooked a little uneven for medium. The waitstaff, though friendly, were a little clumsy. One waiter accidentally dropped some food on my husband's lap which was caught by his napkin. Another waiter accidentally bumped our table and my glass of water almost went over on me. It's ok but not our favorite place.
(2)Ed F.
Very good food but VERY pricey. New Years Eve special, entree with salad & dessert , for two - with water was $158. Prefer the atmosphere at III Forks.
(4)Baron B.
We had relatives in town and went with a party of nine. We reserved a room which was behind the reception desk. The room was shabby and totally lacking in ventilation. On the plus side we were able to turn off the horrible music which was blasting at around 90 decibles in the main dining room. Everything took forever, drinks were a twenty-five minute wait, while it took an hour for the waiter to take our order. One hour and forty minutes later we were served medicore food which was inconsistantly prepared. The entire ordeal lasted three and one half hours (on very uncomfortable chairs). Under normal circumstances we would have walked out when our appertif drinks were not served within ten minutes however with all of the relatives we were stuck in a truly ghastly restaurant.
(1)Debbie J.
Although I opted for grilled chicken, I would say it was so moist it truly lived up to my expectations so I didn't feel like I got cheated since I didn't order a filet. The jumbo size shrimp and cocktail sauce is to die for! My husband enjoyed a steak that was cooked to perfection Oscar style! If you visit you must request the horse radish pickles. Shut the front door I want a to go box of pickles, please! My reason for the four star review is because I really wanted grilled asparagus for my side but $9.95? Really? That's crazy talking.
(4)Chris D.
Nice atmosphere. The steaks were way too salty. Service was fair, and way over priced.
(2)Shams B.
Came here for a business dinner, and they delivered. The food was delicious (I had my bone-in prime rib that "Silver Fox" style which was topped with blue cheese, garlic and red wine shallot sauce) and the veggies were crisp), the service was exquisite, and I left stuffed. The beef croustade was my favorite of the appetizers, and the scallop I had was thankfully not bacon wrapped as I don't eat pork.
(4)Peggy K.
2-11-13 - We went for my birthday. We sat at the bar for a Martini before dinner. Martini was average at best and at $12.50 I would have expected a chilled glass with a few ice chips floating on top. Way over priced........ you can walk across the parking lot to Main Street Bistro and get a far better martini for half the price any day of the week. Not very busy but it was a Mon. night. We ordered wine - we picked and inexpensive but very good bottle that we have in our cellar at home. We generally pay about $10 per bottle but @ $9 per glass we decided to order the bottle for $35. Menu was limited we thought and 3 Forks Salad has gone up to $9.95. It's a good salad but that's just ridiculous!!!! My husband ordered the 16oz Strip ( $46) he said it was very good - but mentioned that it definitely should be for the price. I ordered Salmon ($30) and specifically asked that it be done, not dry but done!! The center of my Salmon was maybe medium definitely not done!!! I asked for mashed pot, instead of the oven roasted pot which in the past were not hot or good, and the sugar snap peas that came with the Salmon. They no longer offer the cream corn which was so good. We opted not to order any additional side at $10 per item. Bread was not fresh or home made. It had always been very good in the past. I ordered a hot loaf when dinner arrived hoping for better but got more of the same. We did not have dessert and our dinner for 2 was over $200 with a 20% tip. The atmosphere at the Silver Fox is ok but nothing special and the food is overpriced and absolutely NOT worth the price. It's defiantly NOT a Go To restaurant for us and we have no plans of returning anytime soon!!
(2)Krista E.
Silver Fox is our go to restaurant for a nice night out...with friends or alone. The steak is always perfect and the III Forks salad is the best! It is a place you can depend on delivering a great meal and atmosphre time after time! We will be back and soon!
(5)Teresa B.
The Silver Fox is obviously not for everyone (judging by the other reviews) but it is certainly special. The atmosphere is not sexy or posh but classic and warm. No, the bread is not garlic bread, not cheezy jalapeno cheddar whatever-biscuits, its just plain white bread. GOOD plain white bread. Our table ordered some sides and salads to start. The creamed corn was the table's favorite, although I also like the richness and tang of the mac n' cheese. I wouldn't suggest ordering a salad here if you are not a salad person. Salads should have a few really good ingredients and nothing more. I will say that whoever dressed my III Forks salad was heavy handed. Instead I would suggest their crab bisque- you're not wasting precious space on this dish trust me! And finally to the meat. We all ordered the petite fillet, or what I can honestly call the best steak I've ever had. It was served with hot snap peas and mashed potatoes. No bells and whistles needed when the food is simply amazing. I really respect this restaurant more than anything. The service and food is unique but original. They seem to recognize that not everyone gets it, but those that do will always want to come back.
(4)Breck M.
We have come here for the past few years on a regular basis. The physicians I have brought here to entertain have also enjoyed the high quality food and upscale atmosphere. Jason, the main manager, is always around to insure one feels comfortable. The steaks, scallops, sea bass, & wines are yummy. Normally sides are given with entrees for free. Ask for the bootlegger (Irish cream & Kailua). Solid place for a special occasion:)
(5)Los Y.
This place was great when Mr. Street owned the place. As soon as he sold it everything went down hill, from the service to the food. You used to be able to get wild game and other meats, but not anymore. Food was something to talk about but not anymore.
(2)Bill W.
Great Saturday night out spot. Ask for seats on the bar side. Lots of energy and exquisite wine list. Fillet and scallops perfect.
(5)Kayla D.
I took a friend here for his birthday. We want to try this place out anyway. It was on a Monday evening, it wasn't so crowded and quit. The people are very friendly and the service are wonderful. The atmosphere looks like it was dated back in the 50s with black and white pictures on the wall. Very classic looking..... i don't mind sitting in a place like this. I ordered a filet Mignon and my friend ordered prime pork chop. It was cook perfectly just like the way i wanted. Veggies are very flavorful with a nice crunch when you bite into it. We both walk out very satisfy with the service and food we ordered. You just have to take your time in a place like this to enjoy your food and really know what you want. This place is not like Outback steakhouse.
(5)Dee Dee S.
I next to never give a 5-star rating, however Silver Fox in Richardson gets my vote. I have been there no less than 10 times. I believe that what makes this steakhouse stand out in my mind is the great service provided by the manager. Always greeted at the door with a hug, seated immediately and the wait staff is always attentive to what works best for that specific night. Reservations can be made on Yelp or Open Table. The food.....WOW!!! I have only eaten the steak, as that is usually what a steakhouse should be rated on. The Asparagus is definitely worth the price. Everything is wonderful! Let the manager choose your wine selection. Oh and one little secret; after dinner, ask for the bootleg. You will not be disappointed. I often crave my Silver Fox!!!

I have a memory of silver fox from my youth. It's one where the service is exemplary and the food is astronomically good. A place where I was looking forward to spending a night with the wife. However, tonight the food and service didn't live to the memory and I feel cheated. Cheated out of a dinner worth the total tab I paid. Cheated out of a service where I felt like we were special, cheated even of the waiters name. Cheated out of quality in preparation that we expect from the upper level steak houses. Cheated out of the words used to convince my wife we should try silver fox. Cheated out of our Friday evening. Bar drinks were decent, her wine was easy and my old fashioned wasn't correctly made but serviceable. Our wait wasn't long but we were on our own to tell hostess we were ready to be seated rather than they inform us. Server was okay nothing special and that bothers me to say that. Food was meh. Her salad she liked, my lobster bisque was good. Her steak was cooked to some one else's order and average in flavor. My lamb was cooked raw and hard to eat but plentiful. Mashed potatoes were good. Snap peas were good. Giant slice of tomato was odd. Our dessert had no real substance to it. There was just nothing mind blowing or desirous about the meal. Not only did she meh her food she also found new restaurant to disbelieve in. We discussed whether we would return and we will not go back because there are were no reasons for us to do so. With the price tag being as much as it was we feel we wasted money that could have been better utilized elsewhere. Disappointing and huge let down.

Great surprise date with my wife. Friends highly recommended this place as an alternative to Del Frisco's, Bob's. etc and it didn't dissapoint. Phenomenal prime filet cooked perfectly, along with baked potato, mac and cheese and III Forks Salad. Great wine recommendation and only 1.5X retail price. Ask for Joseph - he won't steer you wrong. We will be back, often.

Ok, a so called upscale steakhouse that looks like a diner/office building. Group of us gave it a try. First off, expect $$$$$$$$$$$'s. I ordered the Silver fox salad. Nothing like, a little salad with my Baco's and ranch minus 1star. Iced tea? Changed to a diet coke after one glass. Minus 1 star. Sea Bass dinner. $30.00 +++ just for the plate? Minus another. How about a cold baked potato with a side of raw snap peas, followed by a watery fish, that half way through was raw in the middle. Minus 100. Over priced, under cooked, low quality. Be back? NO.

Amazing (: that's all I have to say. Nothing was wrong, my meal, the service, the environment was just perfect!

I took my wife here for Valentine's Day, with good intel that they were one of the few top tier Dallas restaurants that can handle the VD and Mother's Day kind of crowds, and still perform at high levels of cuisine art. The intel was correct. My wife is a filet mignon aficionado, since her preference is medium well done, and that is very difficult to do properly-tenderness is usually sacrificed on that altar. Silver Fox Richardson knows exactly how to do it, and can do it for the VD crowd. It was superb. I had the Prime Pork Chop, done in a sweet and salty sauce that was outstanding. The cut of pork was very generous, and folks who follow me know I require ample portions--and yet tenderness again was done to perfection. Just for the elitists, the lobster bisque, although certainly tasty, is not really a full bisque--it has small chunks of lobster in it. The Texas pecan cake, which is pictured here, is light with candied pecans and drizzled in a brown sugar sauce--a wonderful finish. In spite of running a tight ship when it came to first class service (Leah was our server and did very well), proprietor Jason Campbell was exceptionally friendly and had the flowers (that I had dropped off before they opened), brought to the table on cue. An EXCELLENT overall experience and a culinary delight. As to the 'mixed' reviews, if you read them carefully, you'll see a trend that they don't get out much (the one with two stars mentioned that Cheddars gets their desserts right...) or they just want attention for their whining. If you really do know food, you can be safe in assuming that Silver Fox is a worthy experience. There will ALWAYS be people that have to get their attention by being contrarian, by criticizing what others praise or what they simply don't know.

Great place to take customers, it's quiet enough to have a conversation. Service is super solid. Had the sea bass it was amazing (little buttery) but it was great!

I realized many reviews were written during restaurant week, veterans day and first timers. I still (for the life of me) cannot figure out how people expect to get the BEST food, BEST service for the CHEAPEST PRICE. I went here for the first time and expected nothing, due to the mixed reviews. This place is a bit older (reminded me of the movie.....The Shining).... Food was amazing.... Steak was amazing..... Service was amazing.... Wine was amazing...... If you are looking for a nice change, don't mind spending a little extra ($10-$15 more than a chain restaurant).... then come HERE.... you will NOT be disappointed.

Although I love a good steak, I almost never go to steakhouses ... and I eat out a lot. The reason is that almost no steakhouse can match the steak that I make myself. That said, the steak I had at Silver Fox in Frisco fully lived up to my really high expectations. I ordered the Bone-In Rib Eye. The cut was fully marbled and prepared to my specifications and was as juicy and tender as any steak I've had. The service was great as well.

Went with friends on Wednesday night. Not crowded (good for us but probably not for them). Waiter was very good. Pomegranate Cosmo was excellent. Petite filet was good but tasted like too much tenderizer was used. I think another choice if entree would be best. My husband got a larger cut and he was pleased. Snap peas, mashed potatoes and BREAD were all excellent. The Texas pecan cake is the Best. It was enough for all 6 to share. Just a little something sweet was all we needed. They don't offer the homemade Baileys anymore which was disappointing. You half to ask for the horseradish pickles, they are yummy.

It was our first time dining at Silver Fox, but it certainly won't be the last! From the steaks to the wine selection - it was simply wonderful! I would definitely recommend the Silver Fox Salad and the asparagus! They even had lobster mac n' cheese that night - yum! The service was flawless. We were sat right away and our waiter had great wine suggestions and was very attentive. He knew the menu inside and out and we loved everything he recommended to us. The manager came by and checked in on us which was very nice and they sat us in the inner room area since it was quieter for our date night. I really like that the sides were served family style so everyone can try them. I wish their interior was more like III Forks or even Trulucks. I would highly recommend booking a table through Open Table and be sure to mention if you are there for a special event.

You might as well drive a little further and go to III Forks.

This is an old school type steakhouse. It is dark, lots of nice canned lighting, burgundy leather booths and lots of beautiful black and white photos adorned the walls of old movie stars of a bygone era. Very traditional, not worn or outdated interiors at all. I really enjoyed the fact it was intimate and felt cozy instead of being in a large room. Very classic and simple interiors and do agree with another review, not sexy or posh. My table partner and I got the couples special which was a 10 ounce Filet and a 8 ounce Filet with one side of mac and cheese for nearly 40 dollars a person. We also chose to get 1 extra side of creamed spinach and ended with chocolate ganache cake for dessert. Everything was exceptional, the meat outstanding, the mac and cheese had a really nice garlic flavor and the creamed spinach was quite tasty. We have eaten our share of expensive steakhouses and Silver Fox is exceptional. We will be back, we had a great time.

Ok, Silver Fox I promise to help you out here. My b/f and I have been for pretty much every special occasion and then some. We love the dark, romantic setting. The staff is extremely attentive. Words cannot describe the steak. Mouthwatering, tender, and cooked to perfection. I usually order an 8oz filet and my b/f-- the whole cow. He has tried to out-do their perfection at home on his own grill but he finds it unmatched. Bravo Silver, for a great dining experience, and lovely service.
(4)J L.
The ribeye steak was deeeeeelicious!!! For this pricey steakhouse..I should have gotten better service. The server were not attentive at all!

I took my dad and brother here for veteran's day. One of my coworker's told me that veterans eat free here and I thought I would treat them somewhere a little nicer than Chili's. When making the reservations, I had the receptionist confirm with the manager that veterans did indeed eat free. Well, after being seated our waiter checked with the manager and we were told that they would only get $50 off each meal. Uhm...$50 doesn't get you too far at Silver Fox. Since I'm not a cheap skate and I didn't want to cause a scene, I didnt' say anything but I was really disappointed. I felt like I was lured in under false advertising. As for the food. Yes, everything was tasty. The salads were good, the wines were well matched, and the steaks were cooked as ordered. Everthing was good. Was it amazing? No. Will I be back? At these prices, probably not. I will probably save my splurges for one of the other high end steak places in town.

I went for an office dinner, so we had a fixed menu. I wasn't impressed. I would rather go to Al Biernats any day. Steak wasn't cooked right, sides were luke warm to cold, and service was slow on refills. Food: Below Satisfactory Service: Applebees like... Not very impressive Decor: Old Fashioned and nice - great, clean bathroom. All in all, I MAY give it another shot because they have a half way decent rep. But I wasn't too impressed with my visit - I've only been there once.

The big guy took me to Silver Fox to celebrate our 2 year anniversary. We've been to the Grapevine location, but hadn't ventured to this locale yet. True to his name, the big guy comes with a big appetite. We had a smattering of appetizers, including the beef crustad - tender, pieces of steak on pieces of baguette bread - and scallops... let me just say that I don't love scallops, but those scallops totally changed my take on the creatures! Simply amazing - great texture, wonderful flavor. Just awesome. I love the III Forks salad, so I had to go with that. It was awesome, as always. Something about the marriage of the roasted pecans, thinly sliced apple, bleu cheese, greens and dressing are just heavenly. For the main entree, I went with the bone-in ribeye, cooked medium. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the seasonings were a perfect companion to the steak. The steak came with snap peas, dutchess potatoes, and creamed corn, and they each had a great flavor. The snap peas were fresh, crisp and light-flavored. The creamed corn (like others have mentioned) was SO good, and the dutchess potatoes were great, as well. For dessert, I was hoping for pecan cake, but blast the places using fresh ingredients! Pecans are out of season. We opted for the orange cake - it doesn't sound great, but it was light, not too sweet, and overall quite refreshing. Our waiter (I think his name was Bob) and the proprietor, Jason, took great care of us. They made great wine recommendations, and didn't rush us one bit, even when we were some of the last people in the place. Overall, the food was outstanding and the service delightful. It sucked to have to return to the regular diet of my daily life, that's for sure!
(5)Ken f.
Jason is the proprietor of this steak house. The place is small, but you or not pack in tight. They have private rooms for larger parties. the service was great, very nice wine selection" never be afraid to ask someone for help when choosing a bottle of wine", the food was better.

We attended on a Saturday night after a convention at the Gaylord. The restaurant was only at about 40% capacity which is fine by me as I figured this would boost service and it did. We skipped appetizers and went on to the entrees. I had a bone in ribeye medium rare. I found myself wanting to gnaw on the bone. The meat was tender and well seasoned. You can definitely taste the difference between this ribeye and say a ribeye from Saltgrass (not saying much?). The new potatoes were fine, came unsalted but that was easily fixed. The snap peas were a little crisp but that was probably the intention. I was not a huge fan of those. Overall I was very pleased with the environment and the food. 4 stars because as long as a steakhouse does well on the steak, and this place did, well that's what it's all about.

Celebrated the hub's birthday tonight at Silver Fox and loved it! A romantic dinner for two with food, wine and desert was made to perfection. Service was outstanding as well. And, our celebration photo by candlelight made the evening so special. We started off with a chilled glass of Prosecco (my favorite!) that was fruity, bubbly and very tasty and moved on to a nice, full-bodied Malbec with dinner. Even though the bread starter was to die for with real butter, we did a good job of avoiding too much of that filler - but, oh my gosh, was it good! The crab cake appetizer was melt in your mouth good and the split three forks salad was not only the perfect size, but the maple walnut vinaigrette was outstanding! Next..... I had the special that include a mouthwatering, tender & sweet lobster tail with a 6 oz filet cooked just to my specification, with as spicy peppered sauce on the side that was over the top. My hubby had the 12 oz pepper steak with peppered sauce medium rare, which was also cooked to absolute perfection. So yummie! The dinners included mashed potatoes, sugar snapped peas, roasted tomato and spring onions that were perfect accompaniments. And, it gets better............ DESERT - a fabulous, decadent, huge slice of mandarin orange creme cake finished off a fabulous evening. Yes, the restaurant is upscale and you will drop a couple hundred dollars, but I promise you it is well worth it! Bon apetit!

While the food was good, my server was terrible. He was rude and arrogant and pressured us the entire time to make our selections each step of the way. My steak was over cooked the first time then returned as was under cooked. The pieces I were able to eat were very good, but I saw a lot of peoples food going back to the kitchen. The atmosphere was lovely, but as my first time there I was not impressed and will not be going back. The prices are outrageous as well.

We had a corporate event here last night in their private room. Service was outstanding, everyone was so accomodating from when we first started planning to all our crazy requests. The room was the perfect size and the pre-set menu I had arranged had plenty of options for everyone. Some restaurants will be very limited with a group of our size, but the Silverfox when out of their way to make sure our requests were met. The only reason I'm docking them a star is because any reputable steak house which charges those prices should have grass fed beef on the menu, I was disappointed this wasn't an option. We'll definitely be back! Huge hit with our customers and everyone left happy.

Silver Fox is great and it's nice to have one of the good steakhouses close and not have to go downtown or over to North Dallas. This is as good as it gets for steak. The creamed corn is deluxe and the servers are great. Not sure they like it, but I have also gone in there in nice shorts and a dress shirt, so it's not as stuffy as the other places and once again, a nice place to go have a great steak without all the fuss and close to home!
(4)Jim H.
Had dinner here the other night knowing I would have dinner at 3 Forks the following night....if you are deciding between the two, go to Silver Fox. The baseball cut 10oz filet is $6 less and the salads and soup are the same....reason being, they are sister restaurants. Overall the steak was good....sides of mash potatoes were average, would have rather seen a al la carte style....service was good and the atmosphere was traditional old school steak house....great for a quite night.

I've been to Silver Fox a couple of times in the last couple of weeks. The first time with a larger party (6) on a Thursday at 7:30, and then as a party of 3 on a Friday at 7:00. Both times, the service was exceptional. I find the decor to be warm and comfortable, and in keeping with the idea of being a "neighborhood" steak house. The wine list is ample, the calamari appetizer is a must, and both the filet and scallops entrees are winners. For the first time ever, I received a TRULY RARE steak, because the waiter took the time to specify if I wanted "cold rare" or "warm rare." 9 times out of 10, I feel like the waiter will try to talk me out of a rare steak with an "Are you sure?" Here, my choice was respected and not second-guessed. The steaks come with whipped mashed potatoes and snap peas. Top the potatoes with the au poivre sauce you can order on the side and you will not regret it. Although we were too full to try any of the desserts, we were treated to a delicious house-made Irish cream at the end of our meal. The personal service, excellent food, and pleasant ambiance of Silver Fox have elevated it to a new personal favorite of mine. What a great way to spend an evening with the people you care about!

We went there for my wife's birthday. I had a steak salad which essentially was flavorless. Steak was overdone and not sure what cut it was. My wife had salmon which she liked OK. Wine was very good. Neither of us have an interest in going back.
(2)Barbara B.
It's ok. A lot better steakhouses in Metroplex. Expensive and dark. If someone else is buying, I'll go and be careful about what I order. Stick with the basics.
(2)L D H.
The food was great filet, asparagus. The waiter had b.o. as his arm pit was at face level when reached in front of us & was saying all of the right things, they just didn't sound right.
(3)Mike G.
Great food, quiet and romantic atmosphere. Excellent staff. The steaks are the caliber you would expect. III Forks Salad is yummy. Try the home maid Irish Cream.
(4)Mike F.
I went to this place becuase they were offering veterans $35 off their meal, and I had never eaten here before, so I figured why not. Let me tell you now, I will not be returning. Let's go in order: Bread. Cold, tasteless, plain old bread. Not warm in the least, not buttered with garlic, just BLAH. Next is the salad--just a plain lettuce tossed heavily with ranch and a few bacon bits--no tomatoes, no croutons, no cheese, just ranch and lettuce. On to the entree--decent steak, but certainly not worth $39. Mashed potatoes were fair, and I was intrigued by the macaroni and cheese, especially after the waiter built it up the way he did, so I ordered that for my side. Honestly, Kraft mac-n-cheese out of the box was far better than this stuff was. The service was what you might expect up until the very end, when I had to send the bill back to get my veteran's discount. Upon receiving the corrected bill, the waiter made very sure to remind me of the ORIGINAL amount of the bill, (as if I didn't remember) to make sure his tip was based on the higher amount. I can tell you that his doing that diminished his tip substantially. I felt I paid far too much even AFTER my $35 discount. And to think I chose this place instead of going to Mama's Daughter's Diner instead...............Could have had a much better dinner and still saved thirty bucks.
(2)Michelle H.
This Place was so bad we sent the food back and went to eat somewhere else. There Bisque tasted like it came out of a can. When we got our steaks mine tasted like it had a whole salt shaker dumped on it. My Husband's steak looked like a flank steak and tasted like it too. It looks like everything comes out of cans here. Also it was so loud and looked like a cheesy Italian restaurant. We will never be back here. If I want a good steak I will go to papa's.
(1)Ryder M.
A great experience: good service, excellent food and a nice wine selection. The decor is a little dated looking though.
(5)Anthony B.
Really good steaks. Semi-formal atmosphere. My favorite part was the creamed corn that came with my meal. I would go back just for the creamed corn. Good place for discussion and to take a date. They are a III Forks sister company so you know the quality is good.
(4)Billy B.
The decor, food and service are all good. Typical for a high end steak place. Funny thing was that we had a cricket on our first visit fall from the ceiling right onto our table while eating. It was in the middle of the infamous yearly Texas cricket season. They handled it well and we have gone back.

The Silver Fox is a small steakhouse near George Bush Turnpike & Jupiter road, but they have three locations around the metro area. The inside is much more impressive than the outside, it looks rather unassuming from the outside. The lighting and decor was typical of an upscale steakhouse. I went as part of a large group for dinner so we were seated in the banquet room and given a few waiters for our party. I'm not sure what is standard fare for smaller parties, but we were given horseradish pickles and bread to start, both of which were great. We were then given seafood appetizers which were also great. Two shrimp, one with cocktail sauce and the other with a romulade sauce, a crab cake and a scallop wrapped in bacon. For the second course I chose the lobster bisque, which technically was not a bisque, rather more of a chowder. It was tasty, but extremly salty which ruined it. Next came the main course, for which I chose a NY Strip steak. Here's where I was really disappointed, it lacked any flavor whatsoever. I wouldn't expect a $35 steak to require steak sauce, but this one was in dire need. Each meal was served with whipped potatoes, creamed corn, asparagus, and a slice of tomato. The whipped potatoes were good, but it was a very small portion. I'm not a fan of creamed corn or asparagus, so I moved on to the tomato. It's hard to get a nice tomato this time of year, so I wouldn't put it on the plate if I were the chef. It wasn't ripe and was flavorless. I figured dessert had to be good... even Cheddars can do dessert. I tried the specialty, the chocolate souffle, which they claimed was the chef's mother's recipe. It wasn't very good. The flavor wasn't consistent throughout the souffle, some areas were tart while others were sweet. I only ate a few bites before I surrendered. I will say that others that I dined with seemed to enjoy it more than I did. Others in my party said that the fillet was good, as was the creme brulee. And the service was excellent... otherwise I'd give it 1 star.
(2)Ali G.
Great steak, good ambiance. Would definitely eat here again. One of the best steaks in the area. I'd say a few notches below Del Friscos.
(5)Joey N.
total old school steak house with the red chairs that have the studs. pricey place - by far. But it was good food. Got a filet and ate that up like no tomorrow. The wine is really pricey ---
(4)David C.
the decor here is gross and so is the food..ok things might had changed cuz we went here the first month they opened....the waiter was a rookie, and i guess he assumed that we had no knowledge of what a steak is, well he pretty much dug his self in a grave...service was subpar, the primerib was nasty...it was like " did you want any steak with the black pepper" thats all i could taste...nastyville
