Great place to go and the management Vincent was a super guy (took care of us during a bad situation that ended well due to him). The food was great and service was outstanding, we will continue to make this one of our favorite stops to eat often. We can't thank the super staff enough! Thanks for all you do!!!

Came here on a Friday at 3. It wasn't busy at all. The ambience is nice, I was excited to try their food because I've heard nothing but raving reviews about their tortilla soup! I was extremely disappointed. Food was very bland. Service was below average. For a slow lunch I wish our server would've been more attentive. He rushed us to take the order and got it wrong Anyway. Salsa was good but that was it. I will not be back. I'll take Taco Bell over this place.

I wasn't sure what to think about a Mexican joint where the first two house specialities were a burger and a chicken sandwich, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The waitstaff is extremely nice and the food is excellent. I can now say for as good as the tamales were, that must be the best burger on the planet.

I really liked the ambiance of this place; it had nice decor, a really cool looking bar and good layout. The wait staff was decent but nothing overly special. All four of us enjoyed our meals and had a good time. I would recommend this place.

Stopped and got lunch to go. Ordered a bean and cheese burrito with mole on top and some delishious soup. Will be back!

Came to this location for a quick date night dinner. The salsa is always AMAZING.Make sure you ask for the green kind if they don't serve it to you. We got enchiladas and quasdilas. Both delicious. The pinto beans are to die for and this locations is over all pretty nice. The service wasn't bad but it also wasn't great. Overall all can't complain too much because Luna is always pretty delicous food!

Not familiar with the restaurant I didn't know what to expect. I had the Managers Favorite. Excellent and the staff was as good! I'll be back!

Besides being a lil pricey, they are extremely slow in service does not matter what day of the week. When it comes to taking orders, theyve always messed em up. Im sparing them a star for a couple good margaritas ive had! Unfortunately, I wanna knock em off my list.

  • John M.

Food was decent and prices were ok. Atmosphere felt super fancy for a tex mex restaurant that served traditional enchiladas and tacos. Overall it was good but there are better places in the area.

Just got back from a dinner with happy hour margaritas. They were happy to serve us salsa by the thimble, and then not disclose that happy hour margaritas cost $9 (after discount) until presented on the bill. Then, I was happy to take the difference from the tip and warn my friends on yelp I'm guessing new management.

Ohhh Luna De Noche, I have loved you for a decade now lol... Often forgotten or lost in the over saturation of Dallas tex-mex restaurants, every visit is a reminder of what I've been missing and how much I truly enjoy you... The salsa (green) is my original favorite, been OBSESSED with it since I first came here, but the red salsa is delicious as well... Sour cream chicken enchiladas will rival any in the area... Do yourself a favor, skip the OTB or El Fenix, and try this place out

  • Tara B.

This place is a solid 3 stars. The food was ok..nothing spectacular that would make me come back compared to any of the other tex-Mex joints in the area. The ambiance was a bit more like an Italian restaurant than than Mexican. We had the bean dip which was great and the chimichanga and chile relleno were fairly standard. The one thing that will like keep from returning is the price. For fair tex-mex food this place is way over priced. For 2 of us with water for drinks it was almost 50$ with tip. I can get better food at half the price at almost any other tex-mex joint.

I've frequented this location & been pleased by the food, nothing "off the charts", but decent. Today at lunch my friend & I met for lunch & immediately upon opening the doors was overwhelmed by a nasty stench. We were quickly seated, however we left due to the nasty sewage/"poop" smell. I don't know what the issue is, but I won't be back anytime soon. Who wants to smell sewage while eating???

  • Ali A.

Great food and service. This place kind of gets lost in the wave of tex-mex places in the area, but I think they do a solid job. Great chips and salsa, and excellent beef fajitas. Servers were always checking on us and were very nice. Will be back!

  • Kelly B.

We love this place for a family dinner. It's delicious texmex in a quieter & less crowded atmosphere than most. Chips are excellent, everything I've had is delicious - enchiladas, fish tacos, etc. Def. recommend it!

Stopped in here to have lunch today... AMAZING FOOD! my daughter had the kids Enchilada with rice and beans.. my mom had the lunch Quesadilla with beans and rice, and I had the Shredded Chicken Chile's Relleno.. my daughter ate her entire plate ( that's a big deal in my book) my mom loved her Quesadilla.. and I have to say that my Chile's Relleno... Was the best I've ever had! The staff was amazing as well!

  • Sharon W.

The wait staff is incredibly accommodating and the sour cream chicken enchiladas are unparalleled. I travel quite a ways to come eat here at lunch. The avocado soup is also fab!!! If you haven't been here, yet, you're missing out.

This is a great lunch spot. Rarely a wait, reasonably priced options and quick service. Food taste fresh and has a great flavor. One of my favorite lunch spots.

Try the 3 mini margaritas. They have several different types of flavors to choose from . Try the beef shredded nachos

Wow... and that isn't a good wow. The restaurant was just about empty. There were 5 tables to our right, yet they sat the next couple that came in right beside us. The next people the staff put the table right behind us. with 6 empty tables in that row!. We could hear their conversations and they could hear ours. AGAIN IN AN ALMOST EMPTY RESTAURANT so they should have spread us out. The waiter apparently had no respect for space, so he waited on the table beside us, by stepping between us and them rather than on the side with the 5 empty tables. (and putting his butt in our faces) But hey, you are probably curious about the food!! The salsa was good. The chips were good. Sauce comes with every entree and the the sauces sound good. These seemed like good signs. I ordered fajitas, he order burritos. The food took forever. That's when they sat the first couple to immediately to our right. (since the other dozen tables in our section were empty) Finally they brought food. 2 "burritos" which were just enchiladas without sauce for him and a plate of sauce with some strips of beef for me. The stack of fried onions was a lot more than the few pieces of beef. We each got what looked like rice that had been stuffed into a can then dumped on our plate and a bowl of beans. Actually that's not what they were. These only had a little flavor of rice or beans. Flavor was minimal. The guacamole was a spoonful of avocados. Good avocados but it was not guacamole. The "Moon Rise" sauce was the best thing about the whole meal. Halfway through the meal is when the wait staff tried to sit the couple behind us, they refused the table, saying "uh... we'll sit at the bar." To add insult to injury was paying for tasteless rice, beans, small portions of okay food. If it had been just $5 for my fajitas or his "taco-sized burritos I might have been happier, but $31 was a ripoff. Ok food, that takes forever and is overpriced - so not cool. And of course the wait staff deciding to "save themselves time' by sitting everyone together near the kitchen in an empty restaurant doesn't help. I can finally say I went.... will I go back? No. So very disappointed.

Luna is a fantastic lunch and dinner choice if you're in the mood for Tex-Mex. They served typical Tex-Mex fare that is really fresh. The prices are reasonable for lunch, but dinner can be a little pricey for my opinion. It doesn't cost that much to serve/prepare rice and beans with basic meats. They want to compete with higher quality restaurants like Mi Cocina, so it's understandable. Overall, the staff is always pleasant and attentive. Luna hasn't disappointed me yet.

  • Ashley C.

The service wasn't that great and they weren't busy at all...but man the food was on point. It looked pretty when it came out and tasted as good as it looked. I had the brisket tacos and made myself miserable trying to finish all three of them. Even their chips and salsa are worth mentioning. Definitely will be back.

I love this place and have loved this place for years. It was the restaurant of choice for my friends and I in middle and high school (now that I look back, I don't know how we always came here when we were so young). Now, about 10 years later, this place remains to be one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. The inside is nice and dim with small lights on the ceiling representing stars. My old favorite used to be El Uno or El Tres but recently, I've been getting sour cream chicken enchilada more. The good thing about this place is that they have a large variety of difference sauces that could be used for whatever entree you want. My little brother likes the one with chocolate in it...I didn't try it but he claims it's really good. Guacamole is also made fresh in front of you! I got to say, my favorite thing about this place is probably their rice and beans. I don't know what it is or if they're even authentic, but I can just eat their rice and beans and leave happy.

  • Charles K.

Henry - I rate luna de noche a 5 but I was afraid you wouldn't read it if it wasn't a one. Could we get the chose of having black beans? It would really make the menu for us.

  • Deb G.

The two stars is for the good food. But...... the service was awful and the place was HOT!!! Turn on the AC people! It's summer in Dallas! Really strange vibe in this place today. There were very few patrons and a multitude of servers and staff, yet no one was in any hurry to assist you and would disappear for long periods of time. And, it took forever to get the food. Thankfully, the food was edible and actually enjoyable. Won't return to this location. Much prefer LDN at Rockwall Harbor.

    (2)
  • Troy R.

Food was okay. But not as good as how much the bill was. They charged me extra for sour cream without telling me it was extra. Good thing I didn't ask for more water.

    (3)
  • Cherrica M.

Best guacamole IMO. We went after our spanish class with our professor. We order two bowls of guacamole and margaritas. It was 20 minutes to close but the servers were very attentive. He was patient as we practiced our spanish.

  • Marianna G.

The stand out dish here, in my opinion, is the xochitl soup. Every time I get anything else, I wish I had stayed with the soup!

  • Chris W.

This is our Sunday brunch spot. Sadly I've never had lunch or dinner here. My husband used to take me here after church while we were dating and we have just kept that tradition. They have omelets and eggs made to order. Our favorite part of the buffet is the fresh fruit. The Chilaquiles (house specialty) are AMAZING! The service has always been friendly. Although when go for a buffet they are really only getting your drink refilled. We have never encounter a wait either.

  • Derek S.

The food is so-so. I guess if you like bland Mexican food, you might like it. The food quality reminds me of fast food more so than sit down restaurant food. The atmosphere is good, the service is ok.

    (2)
  • Anthony R.

Nothing spicy of you are looking for spicy Mexican. Everything was bland. I had Enchiladas served with rice and beans. The race was bland, the beans were bland, the tortillas were bland, the enchiladas were bland. There was nothing particularly "bad" likewise nothing particularly "good". The price was too high for lunch ($15 for the 2 enchiladas with beans and rice). Service was perfect and friendly, however.

Amazing food and service and the moonlight fajitas are the best with their amazing moonlight sauce and fried onions

    (5)
  • Rich A.

Has become very average. 10 years ago, you got a lot for your $. Strong, flavorful margaritas, fresh, flavorful food. These days the menu has become quite bland and the drinks quite generic. They even feature a hamburger under "house specialties". Really??! My last visit was during what should have been a busy lunch hour, but I was one of just a few, which should have told me something. It's too bad, this used to be one of my favorite spots.

  • Re D.

I loved the food, the salsa, the sopapillas, the avacado soup and the sour cream chicken enchiladas. So good and a great find on the girls trip

  • Johnny C.

I had the Carne Asada, it was tender and juicy like I like them to be. The other three people at my table all enjoyed their meals too. The guacamole is made table side and they have a exquisite selection of sauces/salsas to choose from, they even make the recommendation for your meal. The only negative for me is the margaritas which are excessively sour & bitter tasting like a cheap artificial mixer, not sure though since I didn't see them mix it. The best part of Luna de Noche is the vibe, it's typically a very relaxed & pleasant atmosphere with lots of space between tables, as compared to more noisy cramped restaurants nearby.

  • Chris L.

Came here for lunch with a friend. They offer a lunch menu and the prices are pretty reasonable here. It's also simplified. I ordered the Luna Tacos Al Carbon. With that you can have a choice of chicken or beef. I opted for the beef. The beef is pretty tender. It has a strange texture to it. It's slightly bland. Not totally impressed but it wasn't terrible either. The sides that come with it were good. It comes with refried beans and rice that's shaped with some kind of salsa dipping cup. Service was pretty good nonetheless. Although there wasn't anyone there. Overall, would come back again to try some other plates.

    (3)
  • Robert P.

Service was really good. We had the stuffed avocado, chalupas, old fashioned tacos and the tortilla soup. All authentic and great. Only four stars because no fountain sodas- disappointing for a soda fanatic like me

    (4)
  • Clark K.

I live practically next door to this joint and have been in here a handful of times. The food isn't bad really[woefully average]. However it's overpriced and the servers are space cadets. Drinks are overpriced as well.

    (2)
  • Rachel W.

Sunday Brunch spot for sure, but as fasr as Mexican restaurants are concerned I would pick another restaurant anyday over this one. Salsa wasn't that memorable, and the same with the drinks. I do enjoy their brunch menu. Slow service at this location too. Luckily, I asked for a can soda because I would never have received a refill.

  • Todd C.

They love to say, "we're the exact same as Mi Cocina" because of course, the MI Cocina brother or cousin or sister runs Luna DE noche. Haven't been here in a couple years, but just skip this wannabe and go straight to MI Cocina. The chips are cold, margaritas are watered down and ambiance doesn't exist unless you're into holiday inn lobbies. Most surprisingly, it's as or more expensive than Mi Cocina. Nope!

Go here often. Like the margs, chicken tortilla soup. chips and green salsa. good service.

Luna de Noche - (whimper) - oh how I miss you. I didn't fully appreciate you (or Blue Goose or Blue Mesa or the other delicious Tex-Mex options) when I could have you any time I wanted. I had to move away, very far away. I hope you didn't take it personally. But trust me, it wasn't you, it was me. I dream of your salsa - the red and the green - I love them equally. No one packs so much delicious flavor into their salsas the way you do, LdN. I long for your sour cream chicken enchiladas and your Xochitl soup. Every element of your cuisine is perfectly executed. I'm visiting for Christmas, and guess where my first stop will be? You guessed it. You will see my shining, (possibly radiant!) face the second we can steer our little rental car that way from the airport. I promise I won't take you for granted ever again!!

  • Jay M.

Cold plates! Went for Sunday brunch buffet. By the time we got to our table, the plates had sucked all the heat out of our food! Quality if service only fair, food so so, the cold plates made this a poor experience. Must have bad manager that would overlook these details! Also why would a Mexican food place not have hot salsa! Weird

  • Celeste A.

I had lunch here yesterday. I went in dreaming of an enchilada plate but the only lunch special enchiladas were cheese. Really? no beef enchilada lunch special? The service was excellent. Taco was quality. Cheese enchilada was eh. i felt like it had been tortured or something. Salsa was good. Beans and rice were average. It was just meh. Would I be in a huge hurry to go back? no. $10 for a lunch special seemed a little high. I have had much better elsewhere. You're paying for the poshness of the decor and the location. I would far prefer a more hole in the wall place with better food.

We enjoyed La Portabella Negra which is a Large grilled portabella mushroom topped with tender roasted shredded beef and sautéed onions with melted Monterey jack cheese. Served with rice, beans and dinner salad...but we never got the dinner salad. Skinny Margaritas were good! both frozen and on the rocks.

  • Joseph F.

The Carne Asada was amazing. It is a thin steak and they managed to cook it to perfection. Very easy to over cook but they just nailed medium rare for me. The house margaritas are great and the top shelf's are heavy on the booze. We got the sampler platter for the group and it had 4 of almost every appetizer on the menu.

  • Chael K.

Stay away, this is terribly over priced and the food was bland. Only good thing was the music and service. I had the rib eye fajitas and they were tuff as hell and no Flavor. Same thing for the rice and watery beans. For 2 people I spent $45 when $10 at Taco Bell would have been better. They have a great set up now they only need food to match.

This review is really only about takeout for this particular location; however, I've eaten at multiple locations in this great, local chain... and have enjoyed every, delicious meal. Fantastic Tex-Mex food at all locations where I've dined (original in Garland, Plano location that closed off Central, Forest @ Central, Northpark and Victory Park. At some point in time, I convinced several skeptical coworkers from Fort Worth to make the trek to Dallas to give it a try. They even said they would make the drive again because it's that good. This happens to be the first restaurant group that serves Tex-Mex/Mex where I actually order the beans and rice. Normally I leave it out. Fantastic. The BEST tortilla soup and green salsa. Never had a meal that I didn't enjoy. Nicest location (in my opinion) is Victory Park. If you're not close to that area though, all the above mentioned that are still open are great.

  • Vince R.

We had a party of eight with mixed results. Fajitas were good and flavorful. The tortilla soup was good as well. I had chicken with mushrooms , onions and peppers. 18.00 of bland to neutral. A little disappointing. Based on the review I see there is clearly some inconsistency in the kitchen. Staff on the floor is courteous and responsive. Don't sit in the back corner table as the air handler is directly overhead. Thought I was sitting at DFW and a jet was taking off.

I love Luna's. Really good chips and salsa. The margaritas I've had have been good. Those are two of my main factors when judging a Mexican restaurant. Bad chips or bad margaritas=adios! Food here is really good. Love anything with their shredded beef. It's similar to authentic barbacoa in may ways, just not quite as greasy. (If you're eating barbacoa that ain't dripping grease, you're in the wrong place!) My husband gets the tamales and he thinks they're great. My one and only complaint is that they charge for refills on soda. Soda is brought out in a can and anytime you want a second can, you're paying for it. This may have changed, as I stopped ordering soda there a long time ago. For those who only like soda, it may be a downer. Overall, this place is one of the best and worth a try!

I have been to Luna de Noche in the distant past and I remember that the restaurant is much more upscale than it is now. What happened?? We bought a groupon which should have been my first clue. There is nothing great about Luna de Noche now. I have had much better Mexican food elsewhere. Plus, I witnessed an interaction between a busboy and the manager that really put me off. The busboy was working hard and the manager was really inappropriate to him for what seemed in the moment completely unnecessary. I was surprised with how the manager handled the situation - in public. For that it makes me think that is what is going wrong with Luna de Noche especially the location in Plano.

  • R. Mark M.

I went to Luna de Noche for a YELP event. I am not sure if he was the manager or host, but he made me feel incredibly welcomed. The presentation of the buffet was very nice and diverse in what they offered. The environment felt upscale but yet still friendly. Their margaritas were tasty, but didn't feel very strong. I was wrong as they hit me later. It also has a nice patio. Next time, I am in Plano I will stop in.

  • Hannah M.

Probably one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the Plano area. Everything is great. Chips are better than average, with good salsa. Without fail, I always order the tortilla soup. Tons of creamy cheese and avocado, it is seriously heaven on earth. I also always order the beef fajitas and they are so tender and juicy!! not to mention carmelized onions and potatoes :) can't say enough good things, try it!!

Have been to Luna de Noche several times and always enjoyed the meal. This last time I started with The Eclipse Margarita, your basic frozen margarita with Chambord, my wife had a Mojito. Both were very good and perfect to beat the Texas heat. For dinner my bride had the the Beef Fajita Nachos and I had the Pork Tacos. The nachos were good with nice sized pieces of beef. The pork tacos included three nice sized pork shanks covered in a spicy tomato based sauce and served with cilantro, jalapeños, lettuce and shredded cheese. The pork shanks were very tender and the meat was easy to get off the bone with a nice spice but not to hot. Only suggestion for improvement was better corn tortillas, these were dry with a uniform size (manufactured versus made on premises). We will definitely be back.

  • Colleen K.

Fantastic food full of actual flavor and not just smothered in sour cream and cheese. I had the beef burrito and the beef was very tender and the beans and rice that came with it were flavorful too. We always sit at the bar where the Bartender is amiable, attentive and knowledgeable. For some reason not a lot of people choose to eat at the bar, but it is full menu and the way it is partially separated from the dining room makes it a more pleasant experience in case it's crowded.

  • Ron G.

Been curious about LdN for a couple years and finally tried it at lunch last week with a few colleagues. Kind of feel generous giving them 2 stars... First, although there was only 4 of us they made us stand at the front door for about 10 minutes since one of the 4 was running late. They weren't crowded - at all - and there was really no place to wait. Strike 1. We were in close proximity to the hostess for this time. I've met warmer dead fish. Strike 2 - should at least try to be pleasant if you're making people stand around for no reason. Finally the food was only slightly better than cafeteria quality. I enjoyed the chips, not my lunch.

  • Stephen L.

Came to this place for a small bite to eat before grocery shopping. I was highly satisfied with the food. I had the burrito plate, served with an amazing queso sauce on the side, my girlfriend had the best avocado soup I've ever tasted. Only reason it isn't getting 5 stars is because the salsa tasted like it was from a jar. The entrees themselves were worth the rather affordable price though, I will definitely be going back when I'm on that side of town and hungry again.

  • Ken M.

Food here is good be kinda pricy, I ordered a small fajita nacho and it was 6 chips and not very big... Love the food not the prices...

  • Amy B.

I am surprised that Luna de Noche has gotten such mediocre reviews. The only con is that the prices are a little high (and have gone up over the years), but I have been coming here for years & years. Their chips & salsa is so addicting, you will won't be able to stop eating it. My favorite dish is the tortilla soup (absolutely the best in Dallas). The service has always been good at Luna, and their ambiance is nice too.

  • Jennifer G.

We checked out this location of Luna for lunch and it was my first Luna de noche experience and I gotta say I wasn't wowed. It was decent, but didn't knock my socks off, honestly. I think maybe if I had ordered differently I might have been happier. I got the Vance platter - cup of soup with a cheese enchilada, rice and beans. I got the soup because I'd seen/heard everyone raving about it and it was ok - not my favorite by any means. Granted this MAY have been my fault - I ordered it without what everyone else considers good (avocado, cilantro, jalapenos), but when I did that they also left out tomatoes, onions, and tortilla strips so I ended up with a cup of chicken and rice soup that was boring - obviously. The cheese enchilada, rice and beans were all pretty good - not amazing, but decent. I'll go back, but next time I'm ordering something else.

crispen is the best waiter ever.. good food.. good service

I took a first date there and although the food is OK, the Mexican waiters came by and gawked at my date. This was very annoying as we were trying to enjoy my meal and our waiter apparently went and told other waiters to come over and check out my date. One even stood there and stared at her and then he high-fived my waiter. This is a very rude thing to do to a paying customer. I don't know if this is a macho thing with these waiters as if to show their manliness or what but I will never give them my business again. Also, they apparently discrimate against women. I saw that they had no waitresses and asked the manager why (when I complained about my waiter). He said women are not strong enough to carry the trays. Well I see plenty of waitresses at other establishments carrying trays so what is up with this?

  • Laura H.

Tried this place twice (first time was bad, second trying to give the benefit of the doubt) ordering to go from a few of the items on the menu. Opened the box and the chips were stale and just thrown together. If you order the nachos its just beans and cheese thrown on some tortilla chips. I gave it a few tries but this place is a no for me. Paying that much for something I can do at home isn't worth it.

  • David C.

I've been coming to Luna for about 10 years now. What keeps me coming back are the quesadillas and chips and salsa. We usually go through two bowls of chips and three rounds of salsa. However, prices are moving the wrong direction. They've lost a lot of business because they've raised prices by a lot even as the recession hit. Their new owners need to reevaluate their business model.

I stopped in for a margarita during happy hour and was pleased to be given tasty tortilla chips and two varieties of salsa to accompany my drink. My friend and I snacked and chatted for at least an hour before deciding we might as well just stay for dinner. Rather than take a table, we opted to remain at the bar. The staff was friendly and accommodating of my vegan diet. After some some discussion, they made me a vegetable fajita. Although it wasn't the best vegan meal I've every had, it was flavorful and satisfying. Kudos to the staff for being so willing to accommodate the dietary needs of their customers. Nice place for a drink and some nibbles.

Luna de Noche can best be described as "right down the middle." The atmosphere is a little dark with an air of stuffy. The food and service is very forgettable, but the location is great for me. All in all, unless I don't want to drive more than a half mile, Luna de Noche will do.

  • Curly Q.

Last night this place was terrible! The soup was oversalted to the point that it was disgusting! I thought about sending it back, but I didn't think it would do much good. Spicy Enchiladas were not "spicy," were covered with a thick layer of cheddar cheese and also very oversalted. Can someone explain to me why guacamole was $10? And what about fajitas with a small amount of meat is worth $16? Service was just okay, not great. This place was not at all redeemed by the cool decor or moon and twinkling stars on the ceiling.

I really enjoy this place for Tex Mex. It's consistently great, with decent service and always yummy food. I have been on several occasions and have never had a bad experience. Everyone has been pleased each time we visit. I am a big fan of quesadillas, and I think Luna de Noche has some of the best. The guacamole is made to order at your table and it's delicious. I never really liked guacamole until I had it at Luna de Noche. This location has a nice little patio area and the atmosphere is great. On one visit, the AC was really blowing down on us. When we mentioned it to the waiter, they immediately shut it off. Definitely one of my regular spots!

One of my favorite places to get Mexican food in DFW. 1st, the chips are fantastic and I can't get enough. The green salsa is the best, fresh too! The food is consistently good, I order the fajita nachos and they are great! The come with guac and sour cream. I with they had more gauc, served with them tho. The service is always attentive too. Idk why they closed the location on Spring Creek and 75, but now it's a drive over to west Plano to eat here. I always get plenty of food and, did I mention that chips are GREAT?! I don't like that sodas are served in a can.. I know it's cheap, but a soda machine for refills would be preferable. Nothing major since I get tea.

My husband and I took our two young sons to Luna De Noche on a Friday night at 6:00 and we couldn't have enjoyed it more. First, our waiter was great: attentive, prompt, and friendly. I ordered the margarita sampler, it was great. The jalapeño margarita was definitely out of the ordinary, but very enjoyable. We ordered the queso and it was delicious! The chips and salsa were great too. I ordered the spinach enchiladas and they were great. We sat on the patio and had a great time! Definitely recommend this restaurant.

I love, love, love the salsa. I'm also a fan of the poblano chicken enchiladas. These enchiladas are some of the best I've had. The service can be spotty at times but for the most part it is good. I like the beer selection that they have as well. Just about everything I've had on the menu has been good and I always enjoy eating here!

2 stars only because the service was pretty good, and the restaraunt ambience nice. However, the food did not really fit the environment. The salsa was excellent, its green but tastes like red salsa...tomatillo? The soup Xochitl (So-cheel) was not very good at all...they bring a bowl full of the fixins, the onions(WAY TOO MUCH0 avocados(way to chunky and not cut right) chicken, tomatoes, cilantro(didn't have problems with those) but then they bring the broth in a seperate container and pour it over the fixins....what is this tex-mex-PHO?? Then the pot roast tacos were pretty good actually, but bland. The refried beans were not good, I hate refried beans anyways unless they are refried black beans...Yucatanen style yo. Overall not impressed but I will not diss too much.

My mom and I went here and had lunch, the lunch menu was reasonably priced they're lunch lasts all the way up to 5pm. I had the burritos with shredded pork and ranchero sauce wow the pork was so tender and had a great taste, seasoned beautifully, and my mom had the tacos el carobon with steak and that was great too came with caramelized onions and grilled green pepper. We both loved the beans and rice and the salsas with the chips were delicious, I will be going back soon. Yum!

This location is the most convenient for us, but unfortunately the most variable. Service and food quality seem to vary all over the place. In a word- inconsistent in all respects. Sometimes you get really good food, and sometimes really good service, but seldom at the same time. The margaritas are expensive and watery-tasting. There are better places around for this cuisine.

First off, the one star is for the margarita! My husband and I went with friends for dinner and were very disappointed in the service as well as the food. We were seated right away, but it took forever for our waiter to show up to great us. We then waited several more minutes for our water to be brought. After several more minutes, we were brought chips and salsa. I will say the green salsa was very good. We continued to wait for our waiter to reappear, and after about 10 minutes, he finally showed up to great us. He spoke to me in Spanish which would be fine if I spoke Spanish. After realizing I did not, he than address one of my friends that did speak Spanish and ignored me. He dropped of the menus and left again. Several minutes later, he finally came back to take our order. We had been in the place almost 25 minutes by now. It was another 15 minutes before we got our food. I had the Pollo Pipian (House Specialty) and my husband had the Burritos Platter. If I was not with friends and not wanting to cause a delay, I would have sent my plate back. It was disgusting! My husband's burrito platter looked like an appetizer, two burritos that looked like Flautitas. Very small on a plate by themselves. There was a side of rice and beans on a separate plate. The waiter was slow and did not take care of us at all. He did not offer refills or ask if we needed anything else. I had to stand up and wave my arms to get his attention for service. The manager, Vicente, noticed and came over after we had already paid to ask how our meal was. Wrong question! We told him exactly how our meal and service was! He was very apologetic and even offered to give us a discount on the meal we had already paid for. We declined and told him we would not be back. I will give him credit; he was very concerned with our experience and promised if we came back he personally would take care of us. No chance! For those prices the service as well as the food should have been excellent! Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else!

Service wasn't any good. Food was just so-so. This place is way overpriced. Would not recommend.

Food is pretty good but overpriced. Atmosphere is nice, however I think my biggest problem is with their beverages. Their margaritas are $8+ for cheap tequila and a bunch of sweet and sour mix. There are better, cheaper places all over the area so I doubt I'll be back.

Nice small patio. It is on Preston and a bit noisy but not too bad. The best part here is the Avocado soup. Must try!

Great Mexican restaurant. A little on the expensive side but I guess I'm just not used to paying a lot for Mexican food in general. Being that I was on an expense account when I visited it was worth every penny!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
