It's very good if you order the right thing. It's not really Tex-Mex. It's straight up Mexican so don't order queso unless you like that canned Rico garbage. I love the mini taquitos with beef fajita. It's 5 little tacos on corn tortillas with onion, cilantro, and avocado. Squirt some lime juice on em and you're set. The charro beans that came with them were very flavorful with bacon and garlic. Their beef fajita is a little different than most other places. My man in-the-know says it's skirt steak which is what fajitas are supposed to be, but most the places around here have switched to using sirloin or some other cut that caters more to American taste buds. It was delicious. The quesadillas are also good. The only thing not great last time was the rice. The service is good and the prices are pretty cheap. I didn't love their breakfast, but mostly because I'm just disappointed when ever a Mexican place doesn't have a big burrito full of everything on their breakfast menu. This place is akin to Taqueria Arandas so if you like them and you like the Jalisco style of Mexican, you will like this place.

Food: 4 Service: 4 Cleanliness: 3 Menu: 4 Decor: -2 Not sure if all that adds up to a 4 but we were pleasantly surprised by this place and intend to return. They have a lot on the menu -much like any taqueria. We liked all of our food, especially the guacamole. We had the mini taqueria (beef, pastor), the ground beef tacos, and chicken flautas. The thinner salsa was really good and fresh, but the thicker dark red salsa was too hot for us. We look forward to returning to try the Pozole and the chocoflan. Give this place a try. Oh and it's super cheap.

I wanted to try out something new and support a business in my neighborhood. For less than $10, I ordered: pancake; omelette; bacon; breakfast potatoes; beans; and tortillas. I also had an iced tea to wash it town. Everything I ordered was good, but the beans tasted like they were cheap and canned. The ladies were sweet and the iced tea was strong like I like it. I'm sure I will be a regular patron and I look forward to trying them out for lunch. I'm sure I will take advantage of the drive thru for dinner after work. I didn't even notice there was a drive thru from inside the building.

Yummy pancakes; delicious machacado a la mexicana; chips could be better, but overall everyone was very happy with their meal!

Just ordered caldo de res and it came with corn, potato, rice, squash and fresh hot tortillas. My soup was small and tasted good. I also tried his soup which was menudo and it was very good. He was not able to finish his large soup. The lemonade was not too sweet.

Slow service, bland food. It tasted like something I'd make in my dorm room in college on a hot plate. It's brand new. They've got a long way to go to get good. I had the #21 cheese enchiladas. Completely flavorless. Also the nachos were dry.

I ate there on a Saturday night with my family. I was satisfied with the food. I am so glad that there is finally a decent Mexican restaurant on this side of Pearland. I have been to all the other Mexican restaurants and they are so so so bland. This one is good if you're tired of watered down salsa and watered down beans that the other Mexican restaurants in the area seem to be doing. And this one doesn't tame down the flavor of their entrees either. I agree with a previous review about the red salsa. This shouldn't be passed as a dipping salsa for chips. But it wasn't bad. I found the beans and rice to be tasty and cooked well. My main course was flavorful and tender. I will definitely be going back and would recommend it to everyone.

Let's start with the decor, its as bland as you have seen. Besides the sombrero and Mexican music, you would never know it was a taqueria. Most of the decor is left over from the Green River Grill that was there before it. We ordered the Fajita Ranchera , Parrillada con Sausage and the Guiso de Puerco . The Fajita Ranchera ( beef fajita with ranchera sauce) was tough and the ranchera sauce was plain horrible. It was a thin sauce with no spice or real flavoring. The beans are canned. The rice is flavorless and overcooked. The only items that were OK on the plate was the fresh avocado. The guiso de puerco (pork stew) was tender but the red sauce that was on it, was added to the pork after plating, This led to a flavorless pork and the sauce was once again bland. The parrillada con sausage( mixed fajitas with sausage). The chicken and the beef were both way overcooked. while the onions and bell peppers were not done at all. The sausage was about as good as it got. Once again the fresh avocado was the star of the dish. The charro beans looked like they were out of a can as well. The tortillas are home made, both corn and flour. The corn was definitely better than the flour. The chips and salsa are just as bad as the rest of the meal. The salsa verde was ok, but lacked flavor. The red sauce is not bad but it is not a salsa at all, they are trying to use a red chili sauce as salsa. The same sauce that is used to season pork tamales. A total miss. A plus for this place is they do have a decent horchata and the server and cashier were both nice and attentive. They do offer breakfast all day with a $1.50 charge after 11:00am and this may be better than the dinner menu. If this place lasts for a few months, I will give it a second try and go for the breakfast. Over all this place lacks a face of its own and used cheap ingredients to prepare the meals. I would like to see a increase in the prices with better quality ingredients. This is going to be a hard location to make it at. The area they are in usually demands a better quality food to survive.

Wow! I was hesitant to try this place because there have been a number of other restaurants at this location that didn't make it. I am so glad I didn't let that sway my decision to give them a try! As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by a girl that was so nice and accommodating. Because it was our first time there, she took the time to explain the items we had interest in. We are a family of 6 and usually all want something different. The menu is very helpful because they have a little picture for almost every plate. We were getting it to go so I was very apprehensive. However, everyone wound up extremely happy with what they ordered. The food was very good, portions very generous, and best of all it was very reasonably priced. We ordered the chicken fajita plate, chicken flauta plates, ground beef burrito, crispy ground beef tacos, beef stew tacos, and an avocado tostada. All of these items were delicious! I will note however that the 3 sauces they offer with chips are not very good at all. The pico de gallo salsa was way too heavy on the cilantro; the medium red salsa tasted way too "chili-like"; the green sauce sample they gave me while waiting for our food to be prepared was good, but the green sauce in the small containers that went home with us was terrible, not even edible. We also ordered a small chili con queso and all agreed it was the worst queso we've ever had from any restaurant. Did not taste like cheese, but very bland, runny, and sweet......strange. Nonetheless, I gave this restaurant a 5-Star rating because the majority of what we ordered was great, the service was great, and the prices were great. I just would not recommend the sauces, and definitely not the queso, unless they change their recipes for these items:)

Can I tell you I really like this place. I first I was skeptical since this will probably the 3rd or 4th restaurant in this location. Let me tell you I'm a big fan of barbacoa. My kids love it and crave for it all the time. Couldn't find a place in Pearland that had the tender meat and great flour tortilla . Well I thought I give it a try since it's near my work. To my surprise it was pretty awesome. :) Introduced it to my kids and all gave it thumbs up. I tried their breakfast taco also and it's pretty good also. All in all I give it 5 stars because of great tacos. I haven't tried anything else yet but I see their chips and salsa are freshly made. Good luck to the business . The ladies working there are very nice.

Finally an authentic Mexican restaurant near my house! I love this place. The food is great and not expensive at all. My favorite is the Pozole stew. Tastes authentic and almost as if my mom had cooked it. Too bad it's only available on weekends. The tacos don't disappoint either. Did I mention the tortillas (both corn and flour) are homemade! You can't beat that. We will be returning back very soon. :-)

I've been there 4 times and enjoyed the first 3. I always get their chicken enchiladas with verde sauce which were excellent. They used flavorful, moist, shredded white meat. The last time I got them, the chicken was, well, just gross. It was dry shards of junk meat (like the little bits near the bone in the legs/wing) and tasted like leftovers. They serve a mole type sauce with the chips which was amazing during my first few visits. Now it's watery and the flavors don't come together as before. Their salsa is uninteresting as well. The atmosphere was never impressive but I thought it was in line with reasonable expectations for an inexpensive strip mall restaurant. The last time I went, they had the TV blasting so loudly it was terribly distracting (but they were very nice about turning it down when asked). They don't serve any alcohol. They say they're awaiting the license so perhaps they will sell big-people beverages in the future if they survive long enough. The staff has always been super friendly and welcoming and their prices are very reasonable. I also like that they have a drive-through window even though it's a sit-down, order-from-a-menu restaurant.

I love taquerias. It is a darn good thing I am in Houston because we have no shortage of great tacos around here. So why, you may ask, should I go to Jalisco Grill instead of one of the other 10000 or so taquerias in the area? From the instant I walked through the door I could smell that this would be the restaurant for me. Authentic Mexican food is less easy to find you might think at this location. It is conveniently located between Gringos, Bullritos, and a Line Star Taco, thusly making it the only real Mexican food at the intersection. The next nearest taqueria is on 35 either in Alvin or up near the Wal-Mart in Pearland. The menu is big so figuring out what to order can be a challenge. Challenge accepted. Try the asado de puerco. The huge fajita filled quesadillas plate is awesome. The other food is really good too. They sell pastor by the pound!

Like the other reviews said, great little authentic mexican restaurant. I will definitely be coming back. Good quality & cheap prices. I hope this place makes it. This location has been jinxed.

This is my first review i dont usually write reviews but felt this place deserved it. I've been to Jalisco grill 3 times and every time I've been very pleased. Today I had menudo and this Is the best most authentic menudo in the area it reminded me of my mom's. We have also had parilladas with fajita and tripas, excellent. Homemade corn and flour tortillas are very good here. My favorite food here is a tie between the mini taquitos and the menudo. We also have had fish tacos and a grilled fish dish that had tomato onions and peppers. These did not dissapoint either. All in all very impressed with how good it is hope they stay in business because the last few places here didn't make it but this one is really good.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
