Celebrated my 1st year anniversary here and everything was perfect! The food was awesome, not to mention it was also HRW, the service was great! Matthew did a great job explaining the menu and was so accommodating! They gave us a cute anniversary card along with a free dessert and two glasses of champagne! They really took great care of us and I couldn't have imagined celebrating our anniversary anywhere else!

A 5-star restaurant with 5-star service! My experience was amazing from start to finish. I started with the signature Stoli martini. House infused pineapple vodka really set this apart from other martinis. Next up was a caprese salad and a perfectly prepared medium rare filet. I was too full for dessert, but I like the iPad menu that shows the available drinks and desserts.

Awesome place to try out. I tried them out for the first time on Houston restaurant month with a date and we both had a great experience. Staff were very attentive and the food was great. I will definitely come back in the future!

Service by Blayne is superior to any restaurant we have ever been to! My husband and I got the oysters, dry aged porterhouse and the lobster mac and cheese. Everything was perfect; steak was juicy and buttery, lobster mac was super cheesy and luscious as were the large lobster pieces, oysters were large and flavorful! So pleased and as we were celebrating a birthday we were treated with an amazing assortment of deserts. Will always go back for a beautiful night out!!

Just tried this restaurant for restaurant month and it was superb! I ordered the Cesar salad sirloin and berry short cake. Everything tastes great and the wait staff was friendly! Will bring my husband and toddler with me next time!

Excellent service and great food-- my friend and I shared the 14oz sirloin topped with Alaskan crab and the lobster mac and cheese side. It was amazing! Also enjoy a 1/2 bottle of wine. Great atmosphere- clean and new looking. Host and waiters were great! Will definitely be coming back. :)

Until last night, I'd only visited The Capital Grille City Centre for the bar scene (Chelsea, Cale, and Quincy are wonderful). As vegans, we didn't think we would ever be able to enjoy a meal with non-vegan friends at The Capital Grille, but when we meet Chef Jeff at a wine event several weeks ago, he convinced us to come in for dinner, as he would be able to do vegan for us. We were thrilled to take him up on his offer for my birthday dinner with friends last night. Not only did he accommodate mine and my husband's vegan diet, he far exceeded our expectations! No unimaginative vegetable plate here! I had sesame crusted tofu and my husband had porcini glazed tofu. We also had risotto stuffed heirloom tomatoes and Brussels sprouts. Our food was sublime. The tofu was cooked to perfection--so flavorful! In fact, our entire meal rivaled meals I've had in vegan restaurants. Chef also visited our table twice, once to go over the menu and again to check on how we liked the food. He is a great guy and so talented. All thanks go to him for being so willing to think beyond a vegetable plate for us vegans! Our server was Lauren and she was fantastic. She was so friendly and professional, but also very personable--just such a cool woman. I can't think of one thing she could have done to impress us more. The staff also recognized my birthday by decorating our table with a card and confetti--such an unexpected treat! We were also treated to a bubbles toast after dinner and Lauren brought out sorbet for me with a candle. As a vegan, to say I love a steakhouse seems a bit of a contradiction, but so be it. The Capital Grille City Centre is fantastic! I can't wait to return soon! Oh! And do the Generous Pour. You'd be crazy not to. What an amazing deal for some scrumptious wines!

Wow, this is definitely one of the best dining experiences I have had. My boyfriend and I came her for a special occasion and were blown away. The food - SO AMAZING. We had prosciutto wrapped mozzarella (which by the way their balsamic is just incredible). We also had lamb chops, lobster mac & cheese, and steak. Everything was so delicious. The service- Our waiter was great. He went above and beyond for us, and really made the occasion special and something to remember. Everyone we encountered was great though. Everyone was really friendly. The atmosphere - The atmosphere is definitely that of a higher end restaurant, but it isn't as stuffy. It is more relaxed, but still beautiful and intimate. Overall I would love to come back for another special occasion.

My family and I decided to come here for my moms birthday and we were blown away. Everything from the ambiance, the service, to the food, everything was just perfect. Our waiter, Jarrett Buffington, is literally the best waiter I've had ever had. Provided nothing but stellar service and was very knowledgeable. The manager (I believe) was also very friendly and checked up on us to see how everything was, so that's great! Appetizers: oysters from Connecticut were superb! Very flavorful and very tasty! Recommend as well. Main course: my sister and I shared the tomahawk steak. I highly recommend it if you're a steak lover. When they said the bone was big, I really thought they were exaggerating, but turns out...it really was. The flavor was absolutely perfect. Don't really know how to explain on here, but hands down, the best ever! My parents had the Chilean Sea-bass and the loved every bit of it. I tried it and couldn't agree more. Overall, I really enjoyed The Capital Grille. Everything from the food to the service was beyond great. I'll definitely be back.

Happy Hour review only- My coworkers and I came here for HH on Thursday evening, but we won't be back again. The bar is beautiful - well lit, large windows, and beautiful light pieces make the setting intimate and fun. The valet parking is free with validation from the restaurant, so feel free to park your car at the front rather than walk from the garage. Other than that, nothing went right on our visit. I arrived first around 5pm and claimed two tables in the bar area - there were 8 of us total. I could see there was a few waitresses walking around, so I snagged a seat and waited. And waited. AND. WAITED. After about 10 minutes, our waitress walks up and hands me a menu, takes my drink and food order (I was hungry) and then takes the menu and walks off. About 5 minutes later the rest of my party arrives, and we all sit another 10 minutes before she comes back with my first drink (a mojito that was on their "bar" menu), and begins to take the others drink orders. One thing we found out- there is a happy hour menu, but according to our waitress it's not printed anywhere (strange) and it only consists of a glass of red and a glass of white for $5. When we inquired on the type of red wine, our waitress responded "I don't know, our happy hour menu changes a lot. It's just a $5 glass of red wine." Pretty strange that we were expected to order, as we began calling it, the "unknown" wine at our own risk! Service didn't improve, and our waitresses attitude didn't either. We waited a solid 10 minutes in between each drink order, and our waitress had to be flagged down each time to ask for more drinks. I had the cheese burger and fries for $16, which was alright but not worth the money. Unfortunately, it looked to be the most solid food option on the bar menu, and I sure as heck wasn't going to be drinking on an empty stomach! Save yourself the headache and some moola and enjoy HH somewhere else- McCormicks and Smicks has a great HH menu and they're located nearby. Capital Grille might be a nice place to eat, but between the pricey drinks and lacking service, I wouldn't recommend coming here just to drink.

It was my first time at a Capital Grille. The staff was so attentive from the moment we were seated. I couldn't decide on a wine and let Jason choose for me. Excellent choice Jason! Richard and Jason were a pleasure the entire evening.

This is the best dining experience we have every had!!! The whole staff is fantastic! We take all our friends there whenever we get the opportunity. Great food, knowledgeable servers, fantastic service (we usually request Rodrico, but when he is not available, we've had others and they have been fantastic as well), free valet parking. If you like a great wine, this is the place. All the information you need to make a good decision is available to you or you can just ask the very informative servers. ENJOY!! YAY!!! We are going back tonight!!!

The capital grille has long been my wife and i's favorite restaurant in Houston so we were excited to try this location for the first time. And the ultimate test... we have our five year old and 8 year old in tow. The service was exceptional as expected. The wait service was attentive and in fact since I have the most social five year old ever we got to interact with virtually the entire waitstaff. (Apologies to the waiter who my daughter kept calling Mr Macaroni Head. Please know that you are of course not a "Macaroni Head" though you should know that this is one of my daughters favorite terms of endearment.) The food was awesome if course. We ordered the giant seafood towers mostly to get the kids excited. It was impressive and delicious. The lobster mac and cheese was delicious. The Brussels sprouts were.... well it's the only place I'll ever eat Brussels sprouts I can tell you. My wife had a filet which was cooked to perfection. My eight year old had a four ounce filet which was "even better than daddy's steaks". That hurt some I have to admit but eight year olds don't lie. My five year old ordered a cheeseburger and had fries for dinner which she thought was very nice. The only complaint is my Gorgonzola truffle filet. About two temperatures over done. Very dry and a solid medium well. Admittedly probably an ordering snafu. I ordered a "medium rare plus. Between medium and medium rare". Obnoxious I know but a waiter at del Friscos suggested it one time and it's been my order ever since. The waiter said that capital grille does either medium or medium rare. Disappointing but I don't fault him. Like I said, an obnoxious order. Anyway somehow in all the back and forth I suspect the order was turned around. The good news is that it was covered with Gorgonzola so it was still tasty. So one lost star. I still love this place. Dessert: extraordinary. We get the coconut cream pie every time because there is no pastry better. The cheesecake was my eight year olds favorite part of the meal and my five year old was the chocolate cake that was as big as her head. In summary, great service great food great ambiance and great for kids five or older.

This was my first time here during HRW, but i did not fall in love with it. My clam chowder tasted okay, i have tried the better one. Bone-in dry aged sirloin was a bit disappointed due to its lack of flavor and simpleness ( just a piece of grilled steak on a plate, nothing else). I have heard many praises over this restaurant, but i found nothing amazingly delicious here. All of the food was so simple that i can easily make them at home. Their famous lobster mac n cheese was simply mac n cheese with lumps of lobster on top.

We celebrated my wife's 52nd birthday there. The service is impeccable. Jarrett Buffington waited on us and he made us feel like we were the only diners that night. I ordered fried calamari, oyster on half shell, and crab cakes as appetizers. They went down well. My wife and each ordered the Chilean sea bass. It was divine. My son and daughter ordered this humongous bone-in ribeye steak. Heavenly.

What I was going for here was to take my wife on a fancy dinner before a show. As long as we used our eyes and not our mouths, it was great. The problem was that the food was bland. Not just some of it - all of it. When I'm paying $50 for a steak (just a steak, mind you), I expect something better than an unseasoned steak that tastes like an HEB special that I can do on my own grill. Never again.

This is just like every other standard steakhouse I've been to. Nothing special, nothing unique. I could have been at Fleming's, Del Frisco's, III Forks, or any of the other similar steakhouses. We had a nice evening. The staff was great and we enjoyed some lovely wine. I had the Gorgonzola and Truffle Sirloin. I knew I messed up and should have gotten the filet. It was dry, overcooked, and the gorgonzola truffle was not nearly as delicious as I had hoped. I'm so bored by the standard menu of the same predictable sides. I wish these chains would change it up and have some special menu items or seasonal sides. I am so bored with this.

This was an enjoyable dining experience! Came to Capital Grille for a special occasion and everyone was so accommodating. The complimentary items were awesome as well. I ordered the sea scallops and lobster mac and cheese, that was some of the best food I've tasted! I'll definitely be back to try more items on the menu, but I'll for sure order the lobster mac every time I return.

Very nice ambiance and excellent service. However, consider the prices, some of the food was very disappointing. The steak tartar app is excellent and a great sized portion. The lobster crab cakes were just OK. (The crab cakes are better at Brenner's on the Bayou) My sea bass was initially served COLD. After I asked them to heat it up, It was just OK. (The sea bass is better at Pappadeaux) My date ordered the filet mignon with lobster. It was OK, was not impressed. However, I tasted the salmon and tuna entrees which were both excellent, would recommend those! For sides, the parmesan truffle fries were outstanding! Maybe the best fries I've ever had... Tasty seasoning, cooked perfectly and not too greasy. And the asparagus is great! Coffee was also very average. (The coffee is better at Corner Table) Make sure to utilize the free valet in front that is shared with Seasons 52.

My boyfriend and I had a fantastic dinner date here last week. We had a 7 pm reservation on Friday and were able to be sat as soon as we arrived. The hostess kindly greeted us and asked of we valeted our car. We said we didn't and let us know that it is complimentary. The food was absolutely amazing! We started with some calamari. It had incredible flavor and spice. The order was huge for 2 people though. I had the truffle filet and my boyfriend had the bone in ribeye. Both were cooked perfectly and delicious! The sides we ordered were the lobster Mac and cheese and the Brussels sprouts. We have no complaints about any of the food. It was so good! We were too full for dessert so can't comment on that. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. The service was top notch and the food was amazing!

The Hubbs took me here for my very first time on our 2-year wedding anniversary. When we'd drive through CityCentre in the past, he'd always point at it and say, "I know it's a chain, but it's one of my favorite restaurants ever. Ever!" and I'd shrug and think, "How could it be that great? It's a chain." Well, it IS great. Service was excellent: professional, warm, attentive and efficient. We got a complimentary hors d'oeuvre from the chef to start us off, as well as a delicious bread basket and salted butter. After the (must have) calamari, we were given mango sorbet as a palate cleanser (cool!). Then we finally got our entree: rib eye steak, perfectly cooked. Served alongside their Lobster Mac & Cheese (which is, without a doubt, the BEST mac & cheese I've ever had in a restaurant) and Mushrooms. The steak was juicy, perfectly seasoned and so tender. The mac & cheese orecchiette noodles were PERFECTLY al dente, with the cheese sauce perfectly salty and creamy... no grease puddles on the edges, and the sauce didn't break. I didn't care for the lobster pieces, only because I don't like seafood, but the lobster didn't make the cream sauce fishy. And the mushrooms were cooked perfectly, and so wonderfully savory and earthy. It was such a memorable and wonderful meal. The Hubbs was able to eat the leftovers for the next couple of days while I was out of town for a work conference... Lucky! Anyway, I highly recommend this place for its class, professionalism, and most importantly, the food!

Absolutely love coming here! The service is always unbelievably perfect (they do an awesome job memorizing the occasion & names). The dining room is surprisingly quiet which gives you an intimate feel - Much more spacious than the one of westheimer! The bar does get loud, as it is a bar, but works when you don't have a reservation. I do & will continue to recommend this restaurant to everyone wanting a special evening! Stoli Dolis are a must!

If you want excellent food and phenomenal service then The Capital Grille is the place to go. We've been there numerous times and not once has it ever disappointed us. The staff there is amazing and I would like to thank the managers Chris and Dan on a job well done making sure your clientele are thoroughly satisfied. You guys are always on point! Also want to give a shout out to some of the best staff there: Cale Ryan, Molly Burke, Chelsea Bearden, Jessica Elizabeth, Kelly Jenkins, Jarrett Buffington, Scarlett Freedman, and Keri Dickerson. And let's not forget Trena Franklin!! I'm sorry if I left anyone out. It's on the pricey side but well worth it. Their crab cakes at mouthwatering and their tartar sauce is unmistakably delicious. Don't forget to try the lamb chops and especially the Lamb Pops!! You'll go back for sure!!

Having read everyone's RAVE reviews around these Yelp parts, I was PSYCHED to try this place today. We had a large lunch party. Firstly - my GPS said I'd arrived (I was on the feeder of the Beltway) and I couldn't see the place. It's NOT road-side-facing. Go through the ground floor of Studio Movie Grill parking lot (to the right as you look at it on the feeder road), it's RIGHT next to Seasons 52 - though you'd never be able to tell cause the signage isn't great. I opted for the comp valet, it was easier than probably never seeing my car again! This is an up-class joint, dress fancy, expect to pay $25-$35 for lunch, it's classy. Nice and definitely a 'treat' kind of place for people like me (and probably many will go here for a 'special event' type-deal). Service and staff were seriously impeccable - doors opened, personal escorts to the bathroom, constantly refilling glasses, asking if you needed anything, if you were ok, offered advice, suggestions, they had plenty of staff to look after our large lunch group - the service was simply outstanding. The food let me down, I was expecting like WOAH. Bread was delish - but it's hard to go wrong with bread baskets. I ordered the mini tenderloin sandwiches plate - which, for the record, don't tell you what comes on it, it's just mayo, mushrooms and meat. I hate mayo and mushrooms and the meat was half the size of the slider bun. It was dry, not very creative or wow-ing, our local star cinema does $1 sliders on a Tuesday/Thursday and I prefer those, to the tenderloin ones I had for lunch. They were disappointing. What did I expect? Gruyere/Parmesan/sharp cheddar cheese? onion? lettuce? stuff you get on a regular steak sandwich in any other restaurant? The field greens salad was lettuce, a little shredded carrot, cherry tomatoes and LASHINGS of tart vinaigrette - ask for the dressing on the side. Pretty 'meh' as salads go. The fries were tasty, truffle oil is quite strong. I was full and didn't opt for dessert or coffee and came out having paid $24 (inc tip) had only drank water, and felt a little short-changed. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? My friend ordered the 'better than' ceaser salad and she RAVED about it, the chicken portion was generous and delicious, the WALL of Parmesan was tasty - it was just all-round lovely. 3 of us at the table had the tenderloin sandwiches, and none of us cleared the plate, 1 girl left 1.5 of them and didn't want it boxed up... I'd go back to give it another shot, but I'd definitely change my ordering preference and try something different!

Beginning to end, mediocre at best. Waiter was OK. Very nice ambiance. At the prices charged, I expect superb quality of food and service. Neither was close to superb. Disappointing.

The hubs and I are now new regulars here for their steak (got tired of Taste of Texas). I always like to go to steak restaurants on a weekday or non peak hours and all the times we stopped by, always seated promptly and service was always on point, as expected. I'm always a fan of their Delmonico steak; it's my second favorite steak in Houston (nothing beats Killens wagyu mignon) and my hub stick to their mignon or whenever they have the wagyu special. Their crab cakes are delicious; love the addition of lobster. Never a disappointed visit. Always my go to steak restaurant.
Meal quality and delightfulness of the staff are second to none; what entices me about the place is the location, once you've had a few bottles of wine complimented with an amazing meal, you've in the middle of City Center so the rest of the night's only a matter of steps away.

My wife and I came here to try out the new Capital Grille in City Centre. We have been to other similar restaurants in the area and visited Capital Grille in the past at other locations. By far, this was an experience to remember. Most of the time was set apart by our server Jarrett. He was tremendously helpful and incredibly knowledgeable about the wine selections we were considering. The food was fabulous. We had the spinach salad, calamari, salmon with crabmeat, & sirlon with lobster. Yes, we had to take much of this home. Everything was cooked to perfection and we left very fulfilled. If looking for a great setting, great food, and great service don't look any further than this Capital Grille location.

Let's start with the food. In order not to be repetitious, this is probably, to our tastes, the second-best steakhouse in Houston. Our party of six had different appetizers and six different cuts of steaks cooked to varying degrees of doneness, all prepared exactly as ordered. Absolutely no complaints about the food whatsoever. Service is another story altogether. We pulled up in front, where complimentary valet is shared with Seasons 52. The valet for some unknown reason asked for my first name, wrote it on the ticket, and then drove away. It was raining lightly, but no one offered us an umbrella or even showed us where the entrance to the restaurant was. I understand that the valet is not an employee of the restaurant, but this was just the start of our service problems. We arrived at 7:30 PM and immediately sat down to join the other two couples. Our waiter, who had zero personality, promptly came over to take our drink orders (the others were already drinking), and about 10-12 minutes later, arrived with our Martinis. It must have been about 20 minutes before we saw him again, at which time we ordered appetizers and entrees. Appetizers arrived after about another 25-30 minutes, and entrees after another 30-35 minutes. We also requested two different bottles of wine, each of which took about 10-15 minutes to arrive. By the time we finished dinner, it was 10:15 PM. We opted to skip dessert, as we were afraid it would take too long. This place is about as expensive a restaurant as we've eaten at in Houston, by the way. Summary: Food 5/5 Service 2/5 Valet 1/5

Your classic upscale steakhouse with plenty of wines to choose from. Steak is cooked perfectly and it's pretty much what you expect from a place where you can bring your business partners as equally as your date. My only complaint would be that service can be a little slow at times... had to flag down my server a few times. Overall though, I was happy with my meal.

A great way to start my first restaurant week of 2014. The customer service was amazing. Our waiter was very attentive and polite! Off the HRW (lunch) menu: + Clam chowder - So yummy! I love clam chowder and this one did not disappoint one bit. + Aged sirloin - I got this and wasn't very impressed. I got it medium rare and the cook was correct, but it lacked flavor. The arugula salad wasn't very impressive either. I mean, it was just arugula with mozzarella and jalapeños on it. It was just an 'OK' entree to me. + Glazed salmon - Out of all of our dishes the salmon was so tasteful! The glaze was light and just made the dish. The salmon was seared perfectly and the vegetables were seasoned just right. + Wagyu burger -The burger was good, but it could have had more sauce and the meat could have been juicier. I loved the truffle fries. Well, I love fries in general. But these ones were so good! Perfectly fried and seasoned. I could have eaten them all day. + Espresso cake - Good. Very, very rich in flavor + Cheesecake - GET THE CHEESECAKE. That's all you need to know. You wont regret it!

Words cannot describe our dining experience last night. From the moment that we arrived, the attention to detail and the atmosphere was overwhelming. The waitstaff works harmoniously and the manager, Chris Fannin, was absolutely one of the best managers we have ever met. We mentioned we loved our table location so later on he stopped by the table (with his card and a long-stem red rose for me) to alert us that our profile at the restaurant had been updated with our table preference. WOW!!! We can't wait to go back with friends and repeat the experience!

We came here for dinner for our Saturday date night. I made reservations earlier on in the week which was quick and the hostess was very friendly. We sat at the bar since we were a little early and our table wasn't quite ready. My bf ordered a shot of whiskey and the bartender gave him a sample of another one to try so he could compare the two. Once we got to our table the waitress who came out seemed a bit "out of it"..she was stumbling through her words and wasn't prepared to greet our table. She didn't seem knowledgeable about the menu...or steaks for that matter. She cut into our conversation a few times to ask us if we needed anything else, which I thought was a bit abrupt. Maybe it was her first day; either way it was my first experience here and I think the service should've been better for what we paid. We both ordered steaks. I ordered the filet with wild mushrooms; it was cooked exactly how I wanted. I'm not a big steak eater but I enjoyed every last bite. For dessert we had a chocolate hazelnut cake which was also good. Nothing special about it; it was a big hunk of chocolate cake. Besides the waitress we had everyone else who served us that night were on point though. Since it was my bf's favorite steak restaurant I decided to give it a whirl; hopefully next time we'll get better service.

I wanted to like this place... I really did. But I've been twice now and it was just mediocre. The first time was a crowded Saturday night and we sat at the bar. The service was good but the food was soooooo salty it was almost inedible. The last time was a Tuesday night and we had a reservation for a table. The server was over zealous when paying attention to us and totally negligent the rest of the time. We had to ask for our waters or iced teas to be refilled long after they were totally empty. And as I said earlier, salt is an issue here so those drinks were needed... This time we started with the calamari and it was, again, salty. It also could have used a dipping sauce of some sort but the peppers were good. Too many of the calamari were soggy. Everyone had a different type of steak, mostly medium rare, and everyone was pleased. I had the steak with the cocoa rub and it was tasty. We ordered a side of asparagus and man was it bad. It was covered in charred bits and just tasted burnt. All that being said, the wine list was good and they had in stock the bottles we wanted. That is not always the case. Next time we'll be trying Seasons 52.

My husband and I were invited to a soft open, it was a free dinner. The steak was delicious, actually all the food was delicious. There were a couple mistakes but I felt like they were definitely on top of it. The drinks were not part of the free dinner but we ordered a couple different ones to try. Mojito was made with champagne, I found it too dry instead of a little sweet. But I returned it. But we ordered a nice bottle of wine instead. They put us under a vent and it was already cold outside so I was freezing. They had complimentary shawls, which is awesome. They also allowed me to take it home and at no charge, I thought that was so sweet. Anything that was wrong was greeted with something free, like a appetizer to try etc. The customer service was excellent!! Great customer service with even better waiters and awesome food deserves more than 5 stars.

Hands down on of the best steakhouse I have ever been to. Impeccable service, friendly staff, elegant ambiance, and delicious food. I came here for my 15th wedding anniversary. We ordered a filet mignon and the salmon. The filet was perfectly cooked. The chef even prepared a special sauce for me (mushroom and black pepper) at my request. He came to our take to ask me exactly what I wanted. Salmon was spectacular as well. We ordered their gourmet tater tots as a side - a must try. Almost a religious experience for a potato lover like me. At the end of the meal I found a small piece of aluminum on the steak which didn't really bother me but the waiter freaked out and comped the steak even though I told him it wasn't necessary. Then the manager came and apologized and offered us a free dessert. After all of that, they brought out a little cake that said happy anniversary. That kind of service, attention to detail, and consideration is something of a rarity. I've been to many restaurants all over the country. I've never experienced service like I did here. I was so impressed that I wrote a letter to the management on the web feedback form. I got a personalized reply from the CEO thanking me for my comments and promising to reward the waiter as well as the manager of the branch. Bravo, Capital Grille. Bravo.

I'm fortunate to have the opportunity to test out the restaurant before the doors open to the public for the cost of free. If I could use one word to describe the service, ambience and food it would be magnificent. The crab and lobster cakes and calamari are pure awesomeness. Oh, but there's more. The sliced filet mignon was perfection. I could cut it with my fork. Says a lot, huh? The mashed potatoes? Heavenly. Creamy, soft and pillowy. I'd choose to spend my money here for any special occasion or fancy business meeting.

I'm not even done and it's already a great experience. Good is prepared perfectly. Drinks look amazing. Desert looks phenomenal. I'm looking at other peoples meals in jealousy even though mine is amazing. The crab cakes have actual chunks of lobster inside. That's just something I've never seen before. As a non-drinker it's important to me that the food is worth returning to, and this food is fantastic!

Has customer service gone the way of the dinosaur? Are people just getting dumber? (Rhetorical question...yes to both in this case). We had a reservation made online, but upon arrival the front desk attendant said we did not have a reservation in the system. A ciruclar discussion ensued during which we explained that we made it directly via the restuarant's online reservation system, while the front desk idiot countered with the excuse that OpenTable wasn't working (???). She offered to seat us 3 hours later, then bid us a cheery "Sorry Ya'll!" when we said that wasn't going to work for us. She made no attempt to get a manager, offer up the bar area, or try to fit us in somewhere (even the busiest of restaurants can usually squeeze in 2 people). A manager overheard the "discussion," promptly found us a seat in the bar area (which was fine for us and would have been had it been offered initially) and gave us some free drinks and appetizers. Great resolution, appropriate way to deal with the situation by the manager. That front desk attendant doesn't have the qualifications or intellect to be bussing tables much less dealing with customers. With a reservation. The food was standard fare, nothing to get excited over. The filet was overdone and oversized, while the sides were good but routine. The wine we selected wasn't in stock, however the sommelier was informed and recommended another selection that we enjoyed very much. So, once you make it past the front desk, service improves.

I was really looking forward to eating at this place, and had high expectations. Houston restaurant week afforded me an opportunity to try their menu. The clam chowder was fine, but nothing spectacular, certainly not on par with Ivars. The biggest letdown was the sirloin. I ordered it medium rare and it was just so tough and dry (there is no way I could cut it with a fork alone). The sirloin was already sliced which I don't really like. On a high note the cheesecake was very good, and so was the service. It appears that there are a lot of people which really like this place, so perhaps this dining experience is not typical?
I had the pleasure of dining at The Capital Grille again back on 2 June, 2014. This time it was for business and they were very courteous about our time commitments. The service was fantastic as usual as I had the halibut. My coworkers tried the salmon salad which looked really great and light. I appreciated the handwritten note sent to my home thanking me for my business. I will continue to keep this place in my list of special occasions and business lunches.

We went on a Friday and it was not over crowded or loud. Excellent food with a lot of variety for the different diet restrictions in our group of 6. I have not had a hamburger in several years but after others recommendation it was really special. Great place for lunch even on Friday.

Dined here for my husbands birthday. Wanted to splurge a bit because my husband and I are big foodies. When we ordered our appetizer we ordered two salads and one glass of wine. The waiter comes back with 2 glasses of wine and one salad. My husband and I ignore this over sight, figuring he just misheard us. Then we order the oysters on a half shelf, amazing! Absolutely fantastic! I have pretty much forgotten about the incident earlier and was enjoying my meal until our entrees arrived. My husband ordered his steak well done and he cuts into it.. Pink and still a bit bloody. I am livid at this point in time. I make our waiter aware of this mistake and they immediately apologize and expedite the steak and give us mashed potatoes complimentary. One of the chefs came out and apologized and gave him his steak perfectly cooked. Now understandably these hiccups are minor but it was my husbands birthday and 2 when paying nearly 200 dollars for a meal I expect things to go a little smoother than it went down.

We really enjoyed our evening at The Capital Grille in their newer location at City Centre. First of all, the parking situation can be tough at the Centre, and their valet service erased that issue. Our server, Jason, was a big reason we enjoyed our experience here. He made careful recommendations, and served us in an attentive yet unobtrusive manner. Drinks were kept full, bread basket same. He offered some words for one of his favorite apps, the Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella with Vine Ripened Tomatoes. It was just as delicious as he reported. One of us had the 10 oz Classic Filet, and the other, the Chef's Special, Sliced Filet Mignon with Cipollino Onions and Wild Mushrooms. Both entrees were cooked to perfect order and very well presented. The bar handled the Classic Martinis equally well. We enjoyed the surroundings, and hope to return soon. We'll ask for Jason again!

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner and had one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. The food was 5 stars on its own, but coupled with the impeccable service it was a truly memorable experience for all the right reasons. Because of it being his birthday we got complimentary champagne and dessert, and Vladimir our waiter could not have done a better job for us.

Chef Todd Williamson and staff put on a terrific lunch today for myself and my coworkers. We had a private dining room with two outstanding servers. The caprese salad was lovely with the aged balsamic. My seared salmon salad was moist and the mango was tangy. But my favorite part was the creme brulee! Its heavenly. I even asked to eat some of my coworker's portion. Our server Matthew even went to go get shawls when two of my coworkers complained about the cold air. Fantastic experience!

All I can say is I had a horrible experience here. Never going again. I was treated very poorly by everyone there, especially Kayla Hodges. The food was very cold, and their service lacked. If i can save you from going there, I would. DO NOT EAT HERE!! One of the worst places i've been to.

I dined at Capital Grille(City Center Location) last night for my birthday and I can not begin to explain the extraordinary customer service we received. From the hostess, to the bartenders, to the wait staff, everyone played an integral part in making our dining experience memorable. Special thanks to our waiter, Cody who went over and beyond his duties to make my Bday special. I'd also like to recognize the Chef who sent out complementary appetizers to the table and for preparing some of the most mouth watering food that I've tasted in a long time. Everything about our Capital Grille dining experience was phenomenal and deserves special recognition. Thank you for leaving such a lasting impression.
We had dinner here tonight celebrating our sons birthday...steaks were good...also really enjoyed the lobster Mac & cheese...the lobster crab cakes were really great...our waitress, Tobey Smith was excellent...the reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is the bartender failed twice to make a decent Long Island Iced Tea...

We went to Capital Grille w/o reservations and they were able to accommodate us immediately. As soon as we were seated, Kayla, our server, came over and introduced herself. She was so knowledgeable and very very nice. She knew her wines and she made some excellent recommendations. I don't drink but my companions said that her suggestion was superb. Our meal was AWESOME!! I had the sliced filet mignon w/ mushrooms. The others ordered salmon and the sea bass. We all shared sauteed spinach and lobster mac and cheese! Everything was delicious but the lobster mac and cheese was by far our favorite! The manager walked up to our table and introduced himself and all the servers were so attentive! We had an amazing dinner and didn't think we had room for dessert. But, we obviously did. The coconut pie and creme brulee were magnificent! I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend The Capital Grille in City Centre! They also validate the valet parking! Bon appetit!!

Nice ambiance, excellent service and divine food. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the fact that I was cold, which was unpleasant. The manager told me there wasn't much he could do.

Went in on a Saturday evening around 5. There were only two tables sat at the time and the service was still painfully slow. Had to ask for re-fills on water several times and then wait 15 minutes after asking for the check. We had two steaks Au Poivre ordered medium. The steaks came out well done and a very bland. The other two orders were Lobster Bisque wich was great and a 3 pound broiled lobster which was decent at best. The Lobster Mac and Cheese was outstanding as usual though. I really hate to complain but when you pay $300 for 4 people to have dinner you expect better.

A special family occasion took us to the Capital Grill on a bustling Saturday evening. Given we had no reservations, rather than wait, we opted for a table at the bar and thus began an enchanted evening with my beautiful wife and kids. We kicked off the libations with their summer "Generous Pour" selection and from the seven wines tasted; the Carmel Reisling, Arrowhead Catchfire and Kendall-Jackson were a crowd pleaser. The bread basket had a nice selection with the Onion bread a big hit with the kiddos. Next the appetizers started rolling in where the rave was the pan-fried calamari with cherry peppers. For the main course we opted for the Sliced Minion, Delmonico and Salmon complimented with roasted potatoes and wild mushrooms - All I can say is Well Done Chef Todd! To wrap up this delicious melody of taste we ordered the cheesecake and flour-less espresso cake thus creating a sweet harmony of alluring senses to our overwhelmed happy pallets. The long stemmed baccarat rose, complimentary champagne and photo card for our celebration was nice touch to an already perfect evening. A shout out to Kelly (i.e Katie Perry), Matthew and Andres for their fantastic and attentive service and the always charming DelleCave for his excellent customer service attitude. The whole experience took us about 3 hours and we never felt the time as the wine, cuisine, and interactive conversations kept us rightly entertained.

Had an 8 o'clock reservation for two on a Saturday night. The restaurant was full, but there were a few open tables when we arrived. Service was prompt, professional and friendly. Five stars. The first table they wanted to seat us at was poor and I asked to be switched before we sat down. The accommodated without hesitation or complaint. Ordered the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella and tomato as an appetizer. Wasn't what I expected, but it was quite good. Easily the best dish of the night. I had a Caesar salad and wife had the greens. Both good. My wife ordered a filet mignon to be cooked medium. It arrived very rare. We sent it back and it came out still very rare. They made her another one and it came out the correct temperature. I ordered the sirloin. It was probably the thickest steak I've ever eaten. The center portion was cooked medium rare as I requested. However, the ends were well done and mealy. I'm not sure how you would avoid that with the thickness of the steak. My wife had their signature vodka and pineapple cocktail. It was excellent. I had an Old Fashioned. It was good, but it wasn't really an Old Fashioned. No muddled fruit and I'm fairly certain that they used Southern Comfort rather than regular bourbon. I enjoyed it nonetheless. Apps + salads + main course + drinks worked out to be a bit over $200 (with tip). So, while we enjoyed it and it was uber-convenient to the Hotel Sorella where we were staying, I think Houston has better offerings in this price range.
Christmas Eve Dinner This place was amazing! Impressed all the way around - service, food, ambiance. Everything we ate from the bread to the dessert was fabulous! We were all very impressed. We had an excellent 3 hour Christmas Eve family dinner. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The hostess brought my young daughter crayons. Our drinks were never empty. The waitstaff refilled our constant bread requests. The bread offered was a wonderful variety including delicious warm poppy and sesame seed rolls which we couldn't stop eating. Though we've had a zillion truffled mac n cheese - this one was surprisingly wonderful and unique and paired well with our fish. The steak was perfectly prepared. I could not have asked for a more lovely Christmas Eve meal. We will be back.
Tried Capital Grille for the first time last week as we celebrated a coworkers transfer overseas. We ordered a calamari app which was very good, crispy not chewy. For the table, sides are shared community style, we order asparagus, lobster Mac and corn with bacon. Not impressed with any of them. The asparagus were cooked well, but too heavy a hand with the balsamic vinegar. The lobster Mac was decent, but not that flavorful, but it did have a 4oz lobster tail on top of it, a bit dry but tasty. Corn had bacon bits, ok, and everything is better with bacon, but nothing special. I ordered the filet oscar medium rare. There was a lot of crab and the sauce was good. I did notice that all of the meats at the table were slightly undercooked, not an issue for me, but for another at the table big difference between medium and medium well. Desserts were ok, nothing off the charts. Service was excellent, if anything almost too intrusive. Our table conversation was often interrupted. If general, a top notch steak, average sides and desserts and excellent service. The filet is as good as Houston offers, but in all the food is a bit over priced....
Great place for a date night, birthday or other celebration. I usually visit for their Generous Pour event because the wine is a great deal in addition to the meal. Not being a huge meat eater I usually opt for wine, brussle sprouts and Calamari. The bread basket is great too! They do sweet things like give dessert on the house for special occasions. That's always sweet. Make sure to make reservations as the place can get rather crowded.

Came to try this location and partake the HRW dinner menu. I want to preface this review with I ate at The Capital Grille everywhere I travel for work where they have a location... Chicago, Denver, Orlando. We also went to the Galleria location; although not recently. It's always consistent and reliable. This location is the first in which I was not impress with execution of food and lack a seasoned server. Off menu items: 1. Oysters and 2 glasses of champagne - the oysters tasted fine but oyster shucking is not great. There were bits of shells. Had to ask for Tobasco sauce and horseradish. 2. Lobster and crab cake - decent with tartare sauce. The chunks of lobster makes it special. 3. Lobster mac & cheese tasted fine 4. Parmesan truffle oil fries also decent HRW menu: 1. Caesar salad with white anchovies is so so. The dressing is not as good as I had in the past. 2. Wedge salad is also average. 3. Dry aged sirloin steak cooked to perfection 4. Tenderloin came out medium well when I asked for medium rare. I've never experienced this place (at any location) not executing to the right temp before. My husband told them and they were very gracious. They redo my tenderloin and offered to bring him out a fresh steak so we can eat together at the same time. He said no because his steak was fine and they brought out fresh sides so that they're hot for me. 5. Desserts tasted fine - espresso and shortcake The best part of the meal was our after dinner drinks. Pappy and Louis XIII. While our server is okay, I want to thank Dan for making the overall dinner experience so much better for us.
I was here for a birthday party and I must say the place is awesome. The service was amazing, the wine was great, and the filet mignon was top notch. I highly recommend this place for a nice date or dinner. Five stars!! Also, they have a valet option or you can park in the parking garage for free.

I've only been to The Capital Grille for cocktail drinks until this past 4th of July weekend. The wait at most of the restaurants at City Centre was almost two hours. My friend and I walked into TCG without any wait at all, which was awesome because we were starving! I was wearing a tank top and flip flops, before requesting a table I asked what the dress code was because just looking at the venue it's a more upscale restaurant than lets say... Brio Tuscan Grille. The host said the dress code is business casual but they allowed me to come in anyway. Ok cool! The place wasn't very busy at all. We are seated at our table and are greeted by our waiter, Roberto. He brings us water and leaves a menu and an iPad on our table with the cocktail selection for us to see. After looking at the menu and with Roberto's recomendation, my friend and I both ordered the same entree -- The Dry Aged Strip. We also ordered a side of Creamed Spinach and a Lobster Mac & Cheese. It didn't take too long to receive our meals. The reason for choosing the Dry Aged Strip was because supposedly it was one of their most tender steaks in the house. I took a bite of the steak and I wouldn't agree on the tender. It was still kinda rough to chew on but I'm not much of a complainer, I ate it anyway. The steak was also lacking flavor, and I refuse to add steak sauce to my meat. The creamed spinach was okay, but I've also had better.. Like, Boston Market better. I don't like fish/seafood so I didn't bother tasting the lobster mac but my friend said it was really good. Overall, it was nice place to go to for a quiet dinner. The food quality and taste could have been better for the money I paid. Dinner for two, with an alcoholic drink: A little under $200 with tip included.
Capital Grille, I have to say it was aesthetically pleasing to the eye but not so much with taste. Food I've tried from this location: Pan-Fried Calamari with Hot Cherry Peppers (2/5): This is one of their signature dishes. I personally loved the peppers and kept eating those. However, my companion and I agreed that the calamari itself was more on the soggy and bland side. Parmesan Truffle Fries (3/5): Freshly grated cheese and white truffle oil. Fries were decent and basic - nothing overbearing. Lobster and Crab Cakes (4/5): Seasoned with hints of bold dry mustard and sweet red pepper. Flavorful. I really liked the fact you can barely taste the breading. I recommend this appetizer due to the fact that lobster is served in these babies! Sliced Filet Mignon with Cipollini Onions and Wild Mushrooms (3/5): A twist of their classic Filet Mignon, this is part of the Chef's Recommendation Menu. I was not impressed by this dish. The filet mignon was bland with no seasoning to add that extra oomph. The only thing I devoured was the mushrooms that were packed with flavor. My friend was telling me how my entree came out more of a rare than the medium rare filet mignon I ordered. The meat was seared about 75% so was tender and juicy. You can choose side items from the list they have. My friend and I chose grilled asparagus. Sadly, I have yet to try the Lobster Mac & Cheese. Like always, Capital Grille never falls short with service and ambiance. I cannot say the same about the food though. I probably won't come back here by choice. I have dined at the other location on Westheimer and prefer the other one. Also, this location is great if you want to be in the bar. The bar room is half the size of the dining area in the City Centre location. They have HH for select wines for $5 by the way!

The ambiance, lobster crab cakes and service saved this place from getting 3 stars. Their drinks menu is on an iPad. You get to pick whether you want wine from a certain region, what kind and other options that I forgot. Pretty nifty! The lobster crab cake was so good! You get 3 ball shaped cakes. What I liked was that it was not all breading. You get large chunks of crab and lobster in every bite! For my entree, I chose the sesame tuna. It was pretty bland... It came with three kinds of sauces for you to dip it in but they were also bland. I feel if the sauces were more thick vs completely liquid, it would have been much better. I could barely distinguish the sauces apart. My friend got the filet mignon. It was supposed to be medium rare but it was sooo rare to me. We didn't ask to send it back and redo. I tried a piece towards the end where it was more medium rare. Nice and juicy! Got some asparagus on the side. Just grilled, nothing fancy but that's expected. I wanted to get the Mac and cheese or other hearty items but didn't want to eat that heavy. Will I come back? Maybe for the appetizers and sides.

Service was five star and the food is great. The twice bake potato is one of my faves. Molly was our server and she is the best. Easily makes my top five ever. Stop by and you won't be disappointed but do bring your wallet. You get what you pay for. Enjoy!

I ordered the Filet Mignon with jumbo shrimp and it was DELICIOUS! It was so tasty and soft, and was so easy to cut and chew. For dessert, I ordered the creme bruelee and it was AMAZING! The service was amazing as well and our waiter was very funny and helpful. I definitely recommend this place to go to for an occasion (e.g. anniversary, birthday, etc.) because they can decorate their dessert to say "Happy Birthday" or "Happy Anniversary" which makes the occasion feel very special. For anniversaries, they place rose petals on the table, and for birthdays, they place balloon-shaped confetti on the table. In addition, during birthdays, they give the celebrant a small birthday card. All these perks make the occasion feel even more special. Highly recommended!

Beautiful restaurant and attentive service. I had the pleasure of dining here for Restaurant Week. I enjoyed the meal, especially the 2 slices of onion-flavored bread and my flourless chocolate espresso cake which was small but delicious. The green beans were good as were the mashed potatoes. My friend and I ordered different meat dishes (herbed chicken and filet mignon) which we both found to be a bit on the dry side. Otherwise though, a pleasurable, sophisticated dining experience.

Dined here with my bro and sis-in-love for my birthday Saturday night and what a treat it was! This was my first time at Capital Grille and I'm so happy I got the chance to try it. Let's start with the food. I ordered and spinach salad with warm bacon dressing to start with and it was delicious. The filet was cooked medium well and so tender, juicy and tasteful. My fave was the lobster mac and cheese-YUMMM! My sister enjoyed her lamb chops as well. The birthday treatment was so nice. There was a handwritten birthday card from them sitting on the table and after dinner they brought out birthday dessert with a lighted candle and stenciled chocolate on the plate. It was perfect! The sweets were delicious as well! Blayne was our waiter and he took really good care of us. I will definitely be back!

Our server went above and beyond for us and we sincerely appreciate the service. From the making of the reservation to the valet, we couldn't have asked for a better dining experience. We loved that our group of 4 moms and 4 newborns were able to have the private dining room as well. They also didn't have a changing table for the little ones but we're able to make us a makeshift one. They were so sweet! Thank you for amazing food and top notch service! I had the lobster bisque, the sirloin, and chocolate espresso for HRW and it was impeccable! I will return to try out another combo soon!

What an incredible dining experience! We enjoyed the crab cakes, prociutto wrapped mozzarella and French onion soups to begin. All items were divine. The atmosphere was calm and inviting. The manager, Dan, made us feel welcomed and went above and beyond to make our evening stellar. The bartender made spectacular pineapple martini's & let us try a new creation of hers: a creme brûlée martini! The meeting rooms are all equipped with flat screens and a/v inputs. The wine room is elegant and well stocked with hundreds of wonderful selections. We had the pleasure of being given a guided tour! I highly recommend visiting this one-of-a-kind venue that can provide either an intimate experience or a meeting place for a group. We will certainly book our next event at Capitol Grille-Citycentre!

Heavenly.

Lovely Bar & Grill! Relax here & take your time. Everyone is so sweet. Plating is beautiful.

Had a great time and great service!!! Brought clients from Fort Worth to close a deal. Scarlet made everyone feel at home. She did A great job...we'll be back.

(5)Katie T.

Made last minute reservations for our 25th wedding anniversary dinner and WOW! What a wonderful experience! We were greeted to a wonderfully decorated anniversary table, complementary champagne, inspirational note about love by George Bernard Shaw and dessert. The experience and service was over the top! THANK YOU Quincy Riggs and team for making our night so special. Dr. Betty & Dr. Oscar Gonzales

Food was impeccable, luckily I wasn't paying for it, and I'll surely go back for a special occasion. In particular, the seafood was insanely good.

(3)Ann N.
Beginning to end, mediocre at best. Waiter was OK. Very nice ambiance. At the prices charged, I expect superb quality of food and service. Neither was close to superb. Disappointing.
(2)Linda V.

Capital Grille is a very upscale, classy restaurant that in my opinion offers some of the best service available. EVEN AT LUNCH! Check it out for sure! Bring the company credit card! And don't bring your watch, as it is a sit down and ENJOY place, plus they have a clock for every time-zone adorning the main dining room. Looks nice! For appetizer, I started with a cup of the French Onion soup, which was overloaded with cheese, literally overloaded. The cheese was overflowing from the cup. Not really what I was expecting from a fine dining establishment as the presentation was awful, the soup DID NOT disappoint! It was one of the better flavored French Onion Soup's I've ever had, and you could tell they used a variety of onions in the process. It was delectable, despite the overwhelming amount of cheese. I like cheese, I just didn't want to eat a pound of it before my entrée. While the Sirloin (10oz) was pre-cut (which I'm not a big fan of), it was cooked to perfection, and the mixed arugula, roasted pepper, and mozzarella salad it came with paired nicely. I ordered it medium and it was the perfect amount of pink, and curved me away from my hatred of pre-cut steaks. For dessert, we got hooked up! The waiter conveniently forgot I ordered the Espresso Flourless Cake, and brought out the Cheesecake with raspberries and strawberries instead, then said to enjoy that as he puts in the correct order, which he profusely apologized for. THAT IS HOW YOU CORRECT A MISTAKE PEOPLE! Waiter got major kudos for that move, and of course we tipped him accordingly. All in all, everything was delicious, and I would love to go back on a special occasion, or a splurge-y lunch! I miss it already! EDIT: Not sure why I didn't go with 5 Stars initially, it totally is a 5 Star place!
(5)Kendra S.
For my first visit, I would say the overall experience was okay. I had a steak which was very tough. The sautéed spinach wasn't the best, but the lobster mac n cheese was delicious! The customer service was great. Very friendly and helpful.
(3)Javi E.
Meal quality and delightfulness of the staff are second to none; what entices me about the place is the location, once you've had a few bottles of wine complimented with an amazing meal, you've in the middle of City Center so the rest of the night's only a matter of steps away.
(5)Charlie T.

(4)Johnny F.
Excellent food, service, ambiance, wine selection, etc. my new favorite steakhouse. Thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it!
(5)Long T.
(4)Kristin D.
One of the best steaks of my life!! Delmonico with mushroom dust and balsamic glaze, an absolute masterpiece! Excellent service, very personal touches four our anniversary, and beautiful ambiance. Free valet parking too!

(3)J L.
Dynamite meal! I had the bone in filet with some spinach. Finished the meal off with creme brulee.
(5)Emily M.
(3)Sunny L.
(5)Jamal K.
Bravo.
(5)Kristal H.
(5)George F.
(5)Amanda J.
(2)Bobby B.
(2)Clayton C.
The service is outstanding and the food is superb. The cheesecake/creme brûlée was a great idea and well executed.
(5)Tom L.
(4)James N.
We went on a Friday and it was not over crowded or loud. Excellent food with a lot of variety for the different diet restrictions in our group of 6. I have not had a hamburger in several years but after others recommendation it was really special. Great place for lunch even on Friday.
(5)Logan N.
(3)Kathy G.
(5)Ellie S.
(5)Sarah A.
(4)Nicole L.
All I can say is I had a horrible experience here. Never going again. I was treated very poorly by everyone there, especially Kayla Hodges. The food was very cold, and their service lacked. If i can save you from going there, I would. DO NOT EAT HERE!! One of the worst places i've been to.
(1)Minh N.
Food was excellent. ..sat at bar and Quincy was extremely accomadating and knowleadgeable...they are expanding their bourbon list with pappy so stay tune

I was in town for work and decide to stop by for dinner. I arrived at around 1830 on a Tuesday, the bar was hopping so I opted for the dining room and was seated immediately. Service was impeccable, and waiter Mike recommended a Sauvignon blanc as well as what I ended up ordering, the Parmesan crusted sole, which came with crab, fingerling potatoes and asparagus. I declined to order an appetizer or desert, but ended up getting a smoked salmon canapé, basket of bread and then a small sorbet after dinner anyhow. Obviously the menu is on the pricier side but you definitely get what you pay for. Food, service and wine were all top notch and 'I shall return'

From the friendly and personal greeting, to the tastefully elegant décor, and exceptional food, Capital Grill delivers on all levels! The pumpernickel raisin bread they make on site is amazing! We had the lobster crab cake that was delicious with no taste of filler. We spilt the Delmonico Steak with half portion of green beans and Parmesan fries, more than enough for two people. Annabelle was our waitress, and she was fun and made us feel special. We finished the meal with the flourless chocolate cake that was good.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary, and it was absolutely perfect. The stoli doli is their signature drink for a reason. It is tasty and strong. Our waiter was exactly what I would expect at a restaurant of this caliber and a little more. He was attentive and made great recommendations for our meal. He also had a great sense of humor. I wish I could remember his name. Please try the oysters. Wow. They were super fresh and the sauce they were served with added great flavor. The salad was refreshing. My steak was perfectly cooked. My husband's food was delicious as well. Dessert was also great. We had creme brûlée. I am not normally this effusive about a restaurant and wish that you had just one restaurant you could give six stars to. I will be back for sure next time we want to splurge.

Went for lunch and had a great experience. A definite recommendation for steak or fish, fine dining. A good consideration for executive dinners, there are 3 private rooms and a well appointed bar. We didn't try any wine but there is a great selection. The complimentary valet is great, we were greeted at the door and all our needs, even those we didn't know we needed were taken care of. Lorra looked after us and she clearly knew the menu and talked us through off menu dishes and was in a position to recommend. The manager came to say hello and our glasses were looked after invisibly. The shrimp cocktail was 5 big juicy shrimp served on ice with a spicy cocktail sauce and the calamari appetiser had a really tasty light batter. My colleague had the sea bass which was cooked to perfection and I had the filet which was exactly as I wanted it. Both dishes really flavoursome. Creme brûlée was great and the coconut cream pie out of this world it was so good. The ambience would suit romantic or business. There's background swing/jazz music - quiet enough to have a conversation. The whole place including restrooms is impeccable. Price for a 3 course lunch is around $60 per head and seemed right for the quality of the food and service.

When I want great food and great service, I go to Capital Grille. I first went there for HRW. I ordered the clam chowder which was so delicious I wouldn't mind having it every day. For the entrée, I got dry aged sirloin steak medium rare. It was cooked to perfection. Our server was very attentive and professional. He also gave great recommendations for wine. This is definitely a great restaurant for business dining.

Thank God for Houston Restaurants Weeks! I got to try this magnificent place for lunch and it was heavenly!! I sat at the bar which is huge and bright, just so inviting. My bartender Chelsea was very happy to serve me and suggest the a pineapple martini to drink that was delicious. I ordered the seared citrus glazed salmon and a side order of truffle fries, oh it was GREAT! Cooked and seasoned nicely. Every bite was yummy. For dessert I had the crème brûlée and it was made to perfection. I honestly have no complaints about this place. Warning: if you aren't going during restaurant weeks this place is expensive. But worth the money. Treat your self! :)

Tried the HRW lunch menu and it was great. I had the caesar salad to start and it was delicious. Then had the sirloin, which was perfectly cooked as requested. For dessert I had the creme brûlée and it did not disappoint. Our server was great, very attentive. Overall, our lunch experience was outstanding.

I contacted the restaurant and the restaurant manager called me back the next day. He was very apologetic and nice. He has invited us back for another more pleasant experience. Absolutely first class treatment all the way.
