Delicious!! Yes, a little pricey...but all good sushi is pricey. This place seemed really average for their sushi prices...compared to other nice sushi restaurants. We got 3 rolls and the RA'ckin Chips & Salsa as an appetizer, and it was all amazing! The fish and vegetables were very fresh, and everything had wonderful flavor and presentation. The atmosphere is nice, and our waiter was very friendly and attentive. They told us the wait would be 20 minutes, and it was maybe 10. Would definitely go back!

Very good sushi. I enjoy the hell out of the place. Its just so loud that its hard to enjoy your company. There are better places for that. But, if your looking for a hip place out.. Ra is your weapon of choice. Salmon carpaccio is magnificent. Definitely worth a try. (and a repeat)

This is my most preferred sushi restaurant! They have an awesome happy hour, trendy atmosphere, and great food! I love this place! Rolls I would recommend: Viva Las Vegas Tootsy Maki Crazy Monkey There are other good ones too, but those are my favorites!

I eat at RA about once a week. The sushi is fresh and well prepared. For something a little different try the Tuna Tataki. Also the potsticker soup is really good, but the portion is enormous so plan to share it with someone.

For regular sushi it's fine but stay away from their unique creations.

One of the best happy hour in City Centre. Sushi is good and service is hit or miss. I normally only go for their happy hour.

Went in last Thursday for a friends birthday. I ordered and sake bomb and a rainbow roll from the happy hour menu. The sushi was very good, fresh and did not have that fishy taste that sometimes come with subpar soho. I personally didn't order anything else but the other food in the table looked great. The happy prices were also hard to beat. I will definitely be going back to try more rolls.

I usually come here for the Reverse Happy Hour with my boyfriend. We both enjoy the food & drinks. The last few times I have been here my server was Timothy, he is excellent! Our drinks & food are always brought out pretty quick. This is our date night spot! We will definitely keep coming back =)

The food is really good here. It kind of annoys me how the people who go here think it's a night club... or high roller VIP lounge.. but it's really just a moderately priced sushi place. The food is really good though. And overall just a nice place! They could probably charge more if they wanted to.

Great sushi! Viva Las Vegas roll was great! The soup was amazing. The saki was great. I will be back!

One is the loneliest number... Make this location numbero dos for RA!!!! I like this location much, much better than the one on Westheimer. Pros: -Less people (although many people are catching on to this City Centre trend) -Same great Happy Hour Munchies (Personal HH favs: Viva Las Vegas Roll, Blue Claw Crab Cakes, "RA"kin Shrimp, and Scallop Dynamite) -Pretty decent sized patio! Cons: -Parking is hellish (although they have a parking garage not too far away) -Not as hip as the Westheimer one (Not clubish, but that can be a positive thing too) So RAlk on over to City Centre for some HH and drink a Tsunami Punch for me!

Best late night spot to eat. Kitchen open til midnight. Viva Las Vegas roll amazing. Drinks usually pretty good. Sent back their last specialty drink of the month but atleast they always have new items to try. Fried ice cream really good. Everything always has a great presentation. Service is usually good but usually not great. My fav sushi spot

I LOVE this place. Till today I have to wait to find a place that doesn't impress me nearly as much as this place. The food tastes amazing, there's nothing bad on the menu. My favorite is the Sunday Happy hour.

Pros: The food is very good, particularly the Viva Las Vegas Roll. All the rolls were very well presented. They were super cool! The dessert - a banana kind of sushi was FANTASTIC. AMAZING. What is good here is REALLY GOOD and what isn't amazing is still solid. The service is really good, very nice and had good communication with us about time and what to order. Prices were good for the quality and location of restaurant. Cons: The lighting was really dim at night, too dim. The prices were still a bit expensive. Splurging, my friend and I spent 70 dollars - but include dessert and appetizers.

GREAT HAPPY HOUR! I have eaten here many times throughout the years, but I recently just met a friend here for the happy hour and was blown away. The happy hour menu has some great items on it - not just california rolls and fried items like some sushi spots. We ordered 2 great sashimi items, dumplings, edamame, a wonderful Pacific roll, and 2 bottles of saki. The bill was around $40... such a deal! Be sure to try the Pacific Roll, which has white fish and a mango pico on it. It was truly wonderful.

Attended a birthday dinner here with a group of 14. They do not accept reservations so we waited over an hour to be seated. The bar area was full so we patiently waited outside. There was a small sectional to sit on while waiting but many of us had to stand. You would think that they would have a small bar or more seating outside for busy weekend nights. We were finally seated at a long narrow pub style table. The seats were very high and there wasn't much room on the table for arm room or the several dishes and drinks we ordered. The techno music was so loud you could only speak to the immediate person next to you or in front of you. I'm all for a fun lively atmosphere but it was so loud we were practically yelling. Service was slow. I understand with a big group it can take a little more time but our waitress was bringing out two drinks and apps/entrees at a time. She could have easily used a tray or rounded up some help to bring everyones drinks and food out around the same time. One side of the table had already been served and was halfway through when the rest of the party was served. Many of us only had one drink because it was taking so long. In addition many of the sushi platters had neither wasabi or ginger on them, we had to specifically ask for some. The restroom was a disaster. Not one stall had toilet paper and there were no paper towels other than the ones on the floor. Fortunately there was console area where I found toilet paper and stocked each of the stalls. You girls out there can thank me for that! With it being a large group we were automatically charged an 18% gratuity on our bill. I'm a good tipper....but only when warranted. With this sort of service I would usually only leave the standard 15%. This RA is located in a great area. City Centre is filled with many restaurants, bars, and shops. However on the weekends the valet fills up quickly as do the parking garages. I was forced to park in the farther parking garage and walk a long distance in four inch heels....not the highlight of my night. The Ahi Seared Tuna and Cucumber Margarita I had were delicious. The food and drinks at RA never disappoint but if going to this location I would recommend a week night or happy hour rather than a Friday or Saturday night. I've had much better experiences with service at the Highland Village location.

Sushi is seriously mediocre and only worth it during happy hour and when I'm starving at that. Service is average but I like sitting next to the windows to people watch. I hate coming here during any holiday or weekend because it seriously gets extremely loud and crowded and just downright a nuisance. I definitely enjoy their drinks more than their sushi! The reason I rated this location so low is that it takes forever to get seated when it's packed and I'm a very impatient person. My favorite foods include: tootsy maki, gojira and both shrimp tempura rolls. I've tried their more popular and pricier rolls such as the Viva Las vegas and lobster shrimp roll... But I really didn't like it because the fish just isn't fresh and I'm more of a simple sushi girl. Be warned though, I'm a very picky sushi eater. I refuse to eat sushi that's from Kroger, HEB or cheap places... So that's mainly why I rated RA so strictly. If you want quality sushi and not just drinks and good appetizers, I suggest you spend your money elsewhere!

So today, RA gets a 3-star if for nothing else, their quality servers during Happy Hour madness. Let me first say, I don't eat sushi but. . .I planned a "surprise" happy hour gathering to celebrate my hubby's birthday @ RA because he loves it. We got there right around 6pm and the place was still packed. We needed seating for 9 and the hostess told us that we need to have at least 6 people present to be seated for our table. . . that's fine, we ordered drinks at the bar and waited for more people to show. Finally! We get to be seated but we get a booth which ONLY seats 6 (don't know what the other 3 from my party would do when they show but. . . .) we sat, we ordered and enjoyed the libations (NOTE: the Sakitini is like drinking a paint thinner/moonshine combo!!!!) , our server was very competent albeit a little depressing (I think he smiled once) And then. . .more people started showing and our booth of 6 expanded to extra chairs pulled up to the booth and still the server was helpful and not at all moody with our expanding group. At one point, a server that had been assisting with our table came out and told us he put together a bigger table for our party so we got to move to an area with elbow room (Yes!!!! More drinks please!!!) And our new server at the bigger table was awesome (she smiled a lot and came by often to make sure we didn't need anything else). At the end of the night, I was pleased, RA accommodated my group size professionally and with minor hiccups, the vibe of the place is swanky and the tunes in the background will ultimately have you bobbing your head or proclaiming "I LOVE this Song!!", the food. . . . well we went for Happy Hour so the prices weren't bad, the selection was pretty extensive and the presentation was fabulous but really, what you get for the prices (especially if you pay full price). . . . no bueno. I'd probably go again (for Happy Hour) with the understanding that I'll probably need to eat, for reals, once we leave or maybe I should grab a protein bar before hand to help keep me full.

Pay no heed to the hata's! I have love for RA whether dine in or take-out, at the sushi bar or table. I live in city centre so I'm a bit biased. Try the fishbowl and/or dynamite roll.

checked this location out again for Happy Hour on a Thursday! Service was good and so was everything else. We ordered, vegas roll, veggie tempura, salmon sushi, pineapple wontons and I had a few blushing Geishas ;) Pretty tasty but still a litle pricey but I will be back.

Love the atmosphere. Keep in mind I am young and I love the crowd and edm music. I have only tried all different kinds of sushi. I have not been disappointed. Highly recommend the las vegas roll. The service is nice. Long wait. I just go to the bar and hang until a table is ready.

After being disappointed at RA sushi in river oaks, this place kind of change my point of view with them. I rather go to the RA at memorial now than the one in Riveroaks. Their sushi is better, the staff is friendly and I like the ambiance much better. But if you are looking for a place to eat and make conversation with your friend or a date, this isn't the best place for you. Parking is horrible too especially during the weekend so if you want to eat here, I prefer you going on the weekdays when it's not that busy. I don't mind coming back again.

I went to RA in December and have been meaning to write a review, but hadn't gotten around to it. I had a great time here. I had some hesitance at first, because someone mentioned before we went there that it tended to be a little douchey, but comparing it to a lot of the places that I've been to in Philly, this place was very pleasant. We got there and spent a little time at the bar. Drinks were a bit pricey, but on par with what I would expect from a restaurant like this, so I knew what I was getting myself into. I asked for a Hendrick's martini and as the bartender was pouring it, she ran out of my gin of choice and asked me what I would like to do. Being a pretty easy-going guest, I just told her to top it off with whatever other kind of gin and I'd be fine. I was a little surprised that she didn't have a backup bottle though. Hendrick's isn't exactly something that flies off the shelf so I can't imagine her going through her entire stock, but at the same time, it's not so obscure, like campari or galliano or something that wouldn't warrant carrying an extra bottle or two. Like I said though, I was fine and she was sweet about it. Another bar or bartender might have either just given me the drink with less alcohol than I was entitled to or just done something with it without checking with me first, so I was grateful that she was upfront with me. We all sat for dinner. I was with my boyfriend's family so there were about ten of us altogether. Our server was really attentive and got everything out quickly and accurately, which is tough with a big party, let alone with people ordering 2, 3, or 4 things at a time plus drinks, etc. There was a slight mix-up with an uni (sea urchin) roll I ordered. It took a little time to come out and the server was the first to recognize it, so he went back to figure out where it was. It still never came out, so he finally had a new one made for me, on the house, which was nice of him. Just between you and me (and the rest of the internet) however, I'm glad it ended up being free because it turns out that I don't like sea urchin after all. The food there was DELICIOUS (other than the sea urchin, but that wasn't the restaurant's fault, it was my preference). I don't remember exactly what I got, because this was 5 months ago, but two things that I do definitely recall and recommend are the Las Vegas roll and the Hot Mess. Damn, they were good So, overall, if you're looking for a fun, chic place to join some friends for some high quality cocktails and incredible sushi, check out RA. It's nothing like traditional sushi, so if you're a purist, you might find it to be a bit on the phony side, but if you want to drop your inhibitions and try some creative rolls, this is the place for you. I was going to rate RA 4 out of 5 stars because of the mix-ups at the bar and at the table, but in the end, the staff really went out of their way to make sure that I was happy and got everything that I wanted without me suggesting anything or complaining, so they made up for that extra star.

What do you get when you mix Reign with Soma? RA is your sordid answer to that Frankenstinian question. The sushi is 2 star, roll/maki-centric sushi. No other way to slice it. The happy hour is what makes this place. Incredibly packed for a sushi place. A bit of the Reign crowd stops by, if you know what I mean. I'd go again to meet people/socialize.

The fact that my friends and I were able to talk to each other and be able to actually hear what was being said makes me like this place immediately. I came here for happy hour and loved that it didn't feel like there were a million people trying to grab tables/booths. We got seated in a booth, ordered, and had a great time. Good appetizers, decent rolls, and delicious drinks although not very strong at all. I prefer this location to the Highland Village one.

I have been MIA for a while but im back yelpers, with that being said here I go. This place "sake's", I enjoyed the textures and decor to this place, but the food was not all that great I had the tereyaki chicken meal, it had no spice to it. The Service was mediocre and the prices for food and drinks was overpriced. Quite honestly PEI WEI has them beat., and I still think PEI WEI is alright. just not spectacular. I wasnt RA RA RA for this spot so maybe next time I will enjoy it.

I went here shortly after my 21st birthday to celebrate with my family, the food and drinks were amazing! I couldn't believe how great everything tasted, and the tempera cinnamon gelato was DIVINE. I can't remember our servers name unfortunately but she was fantastic! The only downside we experienced was that our food did take a bit to get out on several occasions, I work at a restaurant and understand that food can take a bit, but I feel that our waiting times were a tad long given that we went at a slow time of the day. Clearly not our servers fault, but it was an issue since we did have a diabetic at the table.

  • Jesse L.

Overpriced sushi in my opinion. And their happy hour that people recommended to me was not very impressive. $1 off of a $9 drink is not a very good deal in my opinion. The restaurant is on the second floor and is quite hard to find. It is not on the corner as yelp would lead you to believe.

The food is mediocre and the ambience is a bit on the hip side. My wife likes to go there for the ambience and the drink (SHISO NAUGHTY). I go there because she is there...

It's a chain sushi restaurant - not much to review! I love their Spicy Salmon Bowl and the Viva Las Vegas roll! The service can be a hit or miss depending on the time of day you go.

My favorite place to go for sushi Prices keep increasing over the many years I have been going but I still love the food and atmosphere Staff is always great and friendly I've taken a lot of people here that claim they don't eat sushi until they try this RA...life changing experience!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not bad! We were going to the movies and looking for sushi close by. RA sushi was pretty busy and had a cool vibe. Not sure if they have a stigma for being "commercialized" but we thought it was pretty good and service was fast. Our waitress was friendly and it was walking distance to the movies so it made it very convenient. I will say the garlic edamame was notable and really tasty. We'll come back if we go to the movies out there again.

Our server Autumn was superrrrrrrrrrrrr slow. Our food came late to the fact we forgot we ordered something. We ordered the viva Las Vegas rolls, crunchy calamari rolls, and drinks. And it was so slow like we were at a steakhouse. It gets really busy but I prefer the rice village location better. Also their geisha lounge was closed at 10:45? Weird. But I wouldn't recommend coming here.

Soooo good! Amazing sushi! I love the edamame and the chicken skewers. My favorite the ra ckin roll!! The fried shrimp on top and the sauce they use is perfect. The edamame had just the right amount of salt. The prices are a little high, but I think it's worth it.

Honestly, as much as everyone loves this location - it sucks if you are getting take out. Parking is a forever walk away, the staff acts like a bunch of bottle hostesses at a night club and because it is SO LOUD in here in the evenings, the person who took my order almost ALWAYS gets something wrong. I love Ra though. So no matter how bad the waitresses act, or how long the walk is from some other shopping mall to get here, I will always get this for dinner via takeout every time I am in Houston. My Picks: Las Vegas Roll (but I get Spicy Crab in it instead of spicy tuna) Ultimate Shrimp Tempura roll (add cream cheese) and use the creamy ponzu sauce from the Tunacado to dip it in and there is a taste that I haven't been able to recreate anywhere.

Been here a few times during busier hours but this time I came when happy hour just started. There were probably only 8 tables at the most in the entire establishment, including outside patio tables. Got sat down at a dirty table and the hostess failed to properly wipe the table and only wiped the middle of the table where the majority of crumbs resided. It took about 10 minutes for someone to approach us and the waitress was incredibly unenthusiastic and just seemed to dread her job. Ordered through her and then the waitresses swapped in between. Our new waitress was a lot more friendly but since we never got plates we asked her for a set and the set given to us was dirty (the plates are black so you can see the dust and crumbs on the plate). Which isn't entirely her fault but more so the person who had put the plates together on the other table. Food is always pretty consistent but the service is what makes me rate this place lower. Next time I'll just go to another location because this isn't the first time service was lacking.

  • Kenny L.

Will never come back again. Slow, just way too slow. Last time I dined in, almost 30 minutes wait before the food show up. Today I thought I give it another try - 20 minute wait again, for a to-go order. All this, if the food was authentic then it could be somewhat worth it, but it's not. And the food is very expensive compared to their quality.

First of, the customer service was bad! I came, the host just looked and told me " Do you see the bar over there?"- just like that! I was fine. I sat down, my server (she is the bartender also), she talked to me like I am her friend, not as a customer. I asked for box togo, she said "Ok!", then she just stand in front of me chilling for awhile... very unprofessional. The food wasnt that good as my expected! I didnt enjoy anything. Im sorry!

  • William T.

Pros: - great sushi - nice environment/ambiance, looks very high-class and well kept - servers/waiters are friendly and constantly check on how your food is - reasonable price for sushi and noodles (about the same price as other sushi places in Houston) - wide selection of food choices, all tasty

    (5)
  • Pam D.

Service was poor. Still hungry after leaving. Prices were high for the amount on the plate. will not go back here. Sushi Hana is waaaaaaaayyy better. Left there and went to Mc Donalds and got a fish sandwich to satisfy my appetite. The roll I got was 15 bucks and skimpy.
